Beyond the Mainstream: Exploring Niche Communities Through Upcoming Events in Sydney
Sydney is renowned for its vibrant culture and diverse community gatherings. While popular events often steal the spotlight, the city also thrives on lesser-known, niche communities that offer rich, unique experiences. These groups cater to specialized interests, allowing people to connect in more personal and meaningful ways. The beauty of the upcoming events in Sydney lies not only in their variety but also in how they cater to these smaller, passionate circles.
Niche Events That Redefine Social Connections
In a world that often emphasizes mainstream experiences, niche events offer a refreshing alternative. These gatherings focus on very specific interests, ranging from vintage art fairs to underground music festivals. Event Baba gives niche communities a platform to thrive, ensuring every individual can find an event that speaks to their interests.
Arts and Culture: A Hidden World Awaits
Sydney’s artistic scene extends far beyond what’s usually seen. While large galleries and exhibitions attract many, the city also nurtures smaller art collectives. These groups often organize exclusive events where emerging artists display their work in intimate settings. For example, the upcoming events in Sydney’s art world feature pop-up exhibitions that highlight non-traditional art forms.
Attending these niche gatherings allows attendees to engage with art in a more personal way, often interacting directly with the artists. Event Baba ensures these hidden gems are visible, offering art lovers a chance to dive deep into Sydney's alternative cultural landscape.
Music and Entertainment: Beyond the Mainstream Beat
Event Baba serves as a guide for those looking to break away from mainstream entertainment. It connects attendees to events where the focus is on niche genres and intimate performances, ensuring that music lovers have access to something fresh and different.
Wellness and Spirituality: Finding Inner Balance
Wellness and spirituality events are gaining momentum across Sydney, but many of them remain under the radar. These gatherings often involve small groups practicing yoga, meditation, or holistic therapies in serene, community-focused environments. The upcoming events in Sydney’s wellness community highlight specialized workshops and retreats that provide more personal attention than larger wellness expos.
Event Baba curates such events, ensuring that people can explore wellness practices that align with their personal beliefs and preferences. This creates an environment where attendees can nurture their well-being in a supportive, intimate setting.
Conclusion
The upcoming events in Sydney offer more than just mainstream entertainment; they provide a gateway into niche communities that celebrate shared passions. Whether it’s art, music, or wellness, Sydney’s niche events are paving the way for more meaningful and engaging experiences.

Waiting on my AO3 invite. Here's a one shot Sydcarmy story. Canon compliant. Post season 2. Please excuse the grammar/spelling mistakes. I need season 3 to get here quickly!
Title: Won't You Be My Neighbor
It was her break and for the 89th time in the last three days Sydney reassessed the apartments within 15 minutes walking distance from The Bear. As CDC she no longer wanted to depend on the train should there be some kind of accident, strike, or weather event. There were three that she could afford on her own and many more options if she were willing to become a roommate. She wasn't. If inspiration for a recipe struck her at 2am she wanted to get up and cook if she wanted. She loved the freedom of walking around naked after a shower, picking out her clothes or getting a snack. Most of all she missed turning up her music and dancing like an inflatable tube man in private.
She had sent a message to each leasing office to schedule an appointment next Monday and two of the three had confirmed a 10a and 11a showing. It had been more than 48 hours since she messaged the third so she called. The leasing agent informed her that the specific unit she wanted was no longer available, but they had a gorgeous 2 bedroom for $3800 a month if she was interested. "Okay, now that's just two options" Sydney muttered after getting off the phone.
"Hey mija, what you looking at?" Tina asked sitting down to eat lunch.
"Just apartments. I finally have the funds to move" Sydney answered with a sigh.
"What's wrong? Aren't you happy to be getting out on your own?"
"Oh, yeah for sure. It's just I'm really picky"
"Well, it doesn't have to be forever. Just make sure to read the reviews. You don't want roaches or bed bugs".
"Oh, I can't stand bugs! My dad still has to kill them for me, but I better get a fly swatter and spray now that I'll be on my own soon."
Break was over and Sydney stood up to resume her duties. First she needed to talk to Natalie about the upcoming private party. A celebrity had reserved the entire restaurant next Thursday evening. The names of all staff members on duty that night had to be submitted ahead of time with signed NDAs. It was all happening so fast and The Bear's debt was likely to be paid less than a year after opening. First there had been a Grio article about her being a rising black chef. That led to Keith Lee, the TikTok restaurant reviewer, raving about his to-go order that included the T-Bone and the Michael cannoli. It went viral and suddenly, they were booked for the next three months with a waiting list. She was working harder than ever, getting paid pretty well, and she deserved a place of her own.
After talking to Natalie, she found Carmy working on her prep.
"Hey, thanks! I can take over that now if you want"
"Actually….it's done. I wanted to take you somewhere for like 30 minutes" he said finishing up and cleaning the station.
Sydney folded her arms, her eyebrows raised high.
"Okay, where are we going?"
"I know you've been looking for a place and I think know the perfect apartment for you. Just a 10 minute walk from here. The landlord gave me the key so I could show you today" Carmy said trying to sound casual, but a deep pink flush rose in his cheeks.
"Why is he being weird?" Sydney thought but simply said "Okay, that's dope."
The Chicago air was soft and warm, the clean sunlight making everything look new. Summer afternoons like this made you forgive the brutal winters here. Carmy directed Sydney when to turn left and right, but refused to tell her where exactly they were going. Soon they were standing in front of his building.
The reason for his weirdness was now perfectly clear to Sydney and she felt so flattered that she had to avoid looking at Carmy when she said "So, there's an open unit in your building?"
"Uh, yeah. The people who lived just above me moved and I, uh, thought you might want to see it".
The apartment was on the fourth floor. Carmy unlocked the door and let Sydney go in first. The walls were freshly painted in "Cloud White" and the oak hardwood floors creaked comfortably under their feet. The layout was the same as Carmy's apartment with plenty of windows to let in natural light and a shockingly large kitchen for a 1 bedroom place in Chicago. As Sydney inspected the appliances and bathroom, she decided that if the rent was going to eat up even half of her check it was worth it. She had always admired Carmy's spacious apartment and with her sense of style she could make hers, a cozy bohemian oasis filled with plants, wall art, and actual furniture (eventually).
Carmy had let her roam around in silence for a few minutes, muttering and emitting tiny sounds of joy to herself. When she met him in the living room again, he said trying not to grin too widely, "If you like it, it's already yours."
"How? I know places like this are snatched up fast" Sydney said her eyes finally able to meet his again.
"The landlords, they're a couple, and their 20th wedding anniversary is coming up. They want reservations at The Bear." Carmy explained, desperately hoping to sound nonchalant about it.
"Oh, that's nice work, Carmy."
Then Sydney squealed and cried "This is just what I wanted!!" and she flung her arms around his shoulders in a wild hug. Carmy commanded his body not to shudder as he hugged her back. She was just wearing a t-shirt and without her usual layers of clothing he felt her delicate frame, her slim shoulder blades imprinting on his fingers.
In a moment Sydney pulled back shly and let her arms fall to her sides, her face burning. She made a mental note: Hugging Carmy. Not a safe activity for those who want to cook along side him using sharp objects or sleep peacefully at night dreaming innocent thoughts.
"Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!" Sydney said taking another step back and making another turn around the room.
Carmy nodded and concentrated on not melting into the floorboards.
"You're okay with this? We already spend 60+ hours together at the restaurant every week and now I'd be in your building! And literally living on top of you."
"Yeah, well, I want you to. You deserve everything you want, Syd."
"Then I'll take it! Just a warning though. If you hear someone belting out Kpop and an occasional thud, that's just my weekly one woman concert, which will be over no later than 10pm. I'm not being murdered."
Carm was no longer unable to contain the width of his smile. This girl is so cute, his body physically ached. How would he get through service tonight?
With a happy shake of his head, he replied, "Thank you, for the heads up!"
With that Sydney marched towards the door and exclaimed "Take me to your landlord!"
Carmy floated behind her.
Cue: Maxwell's "Whenever, Wherever, Whatever"

Season 3 Speculation:
Carmy & Fire
I think there's a possibility that a fire related accident could be a catalyst for Carmy seeking out some professional one on one mental health care AND attempting to quit smoking in an upcoming season. In the show thus far we've seen him inadvertently start two fires, one whilst sleepwalking at home -
And the other while lighting a cigarette using the kitchen range in season one -
And he also burns himself with a hot pot handle twice, once in the pilot and also in his nightmare in Braciole. But apart from these incidents he is also shown not properly extinguishing his cigarettes at times in season 1 and season 2. First while he fell asleep before the sleepwalking + cooking event, his cigarette is still lit in the ash tray on his coffee table -
And in season 2 he is shown discarding his cigarettes on the ground without putting them out twice. First, he does it outside of the house party in Pop with Claire, who also noted earlier in the same episode (facetiously or not) that Mikey was the type to set stuff on fire -
And secondly, he does it in Fishes before going into the Berzatto home with Mikey -
Since stories often employ the rule of three, I honestly think that it may take a third (and ultimately the most severe of the 3) fire related incident for Carmy to undergo character development with respect to seeking therapy and eliminating unecessary risky behaviours re smoking.
Whether (God forbid) he burns himself in his sleep due to cooking whilst sleepwalking, or an unattended cigarette of his leads to his apartment being gutted and he suffers from smoke inhalation etc. - I think this may also lead to him getting closure with the end of his relationship with Claire (an ER doctor) and may also bring him closer to Sydney, by giving her clearer insight into Carmy's mental health struggles and trauma surrounding his family and his work.

I was curious about King Charles and Camilla's itinerary after reading your latest post on that, so I looked it up myself. You're right. KC + C arrive on the evening of the 18th. Nothing on the 19th (assuming like you KC + C will be resting from jet lag). Sunday and Tuesday, KC + C will be in Sydney, while on Monday, they’ll be in Canberra. I agree, this is dumb planning. KC + C should arrive in Canberra, rest up and then spend the remaining 2 days in Sydney before flying to Samoa.
Hi Nonny,
That is exactly what I think. Arrive in one city, do your stuff there, go to another city, do you stuff there, then fly out from that city. This backwards-and-forwards stuff makes no sense, especially for two elderly people, one of whom is having treatment for cancer.
The whole things is a mess. The planned events are also a mess. Nothing makes sense and nothing flows like a usual royal tour.
To be honest, I think The Ling should cancel the tour and go straight to CHOGM, or stay home and zoom into CHOGM. Everyone would understand that it was for health reasons and it would make much more sense.
BTW, the tour is already being mocked on Australian media - see the article below for an example.

SEQUEL to - Please, Don't kill me, Mr.Ghostface
Randy Meeks x Fem!Reader
Masterlist Part 2 on Masterlist
Warnings : mentions Sex, language, mentions dying, mentions Killing, Reader has hallucinations (If I miss anything let me know)
I do NOT support killing
Summary : After the 1996 Woods borrow murders, will you move on? Attending college with some old friends and making new ones. Your past stalking you at times making everything difficult.
"Can you tell me what you were thinking when he was going to kill your friends?"
The clocked ticked loudly on the wall, you fidgeted picking your nails.
"Disgusted, trapped, with myself to be exact. If I didn't say anything I'd get hurt. If I did if get hurt. There's nothing I could do about it."
She nodded scrabbling on the notebook paper.
"And it's said you stabbed Billy Loomis 17 times. Is that correct?"
"I didn't count. I just... Did it. It was either that or die."
"I know."
"I don't wanna talk about Billy." You looked out the window not being able to face her.
"Let's talk about your visions then.".
You nodded still looking out the window with a soft gaze.
"I got a call from your Aunt. She said according to the teacher you started yelling in class. Cause you saw... Them.".
You nodded, "Yes."
"They're dead they can't hurt you."
"I know. But nightmares can't die."
She sighed, "You're suffering from PTSD, it's not strange to suffer after a traumatic event. Sydney, Randy, and Gale are doing fine. Sydneys getting through it maybe you can talk to her-"
"Sydney's rich and popular. She has the ability... To be loved easily."
"You don't know Sydney's life-"
"But I know mine!" You turned to her.
"Tell me about school."
"People look at me like I'm a zombie or something. I mean since someone died the exams aren't a big deal... People think I'm a killer... Ever since Gale... Did a short read of her upcoming book..."
"Self defense is not murder."
"Yes, I know! Still hurts. The only reason I got into college is because of being a victim. I don't even know what to major in."
"Don't you like movies? Major in directing."
"that's Randy's thing. I love movies, but I don't wanna make them."
"just come up with a list and think it through. How's your sleeping been?"
You looked down at your lap, "It's hard to sleep. I have bad dreams and wake up.".
"have you tried a-"
"Routine. Yes. Sometimes Randy spends the night."
She raised her eyebrow, "Not like that!".
"Mhm." She wrote something down.
"Do you think im a killer?" You looked at her deeply. She looked up at you and didn't speak for a moment.
"I think you're an angry child with a rough past seeking the love you didn't have."
"That wasn't my question."
"No, you're not a killer."
"You hesitated."
"This isn't about me. Its about you."
Silence filled the room back up again.
"I'm scared I'll kill again."
You folded your graphic tees into a box. Music played in the background as you packed up. The last week you've been packing for college. Surprisingly Sydney asked to be roommates, you said yes.
Your room was almost empty now, you sat on your bed.
"Finally running away from here?"
Billy appeared next to you, he leaned down to see your face.
"You're not real."
"I'm real to you."
You didn't look towards him, you closed your eyes trying to focus on breathing.
"You can't shut me out!" He yelled.
"Go away, Billy!" You yelled back. Your Aunt rushed in at the sound of you yelling.
"Everything alright?"
"Yeah, just a nightmare." You stood up.
"Okay. Well Randy called, he's on his way. So get ready to pack up his car." She gave a pathetic smile and walked away. You sighed putting shoes on before taking boxes near the front door. Randy pulled up walking in the house, ever since the killing he seemed to peak. He had more muscle and wore shirts that showed it, he even grew out a small beard. He wasn't the only thing that change in the summer though.
People around you took note about how you seemed more free than usual. You got to dress in clothes without Billy saying you looked whorish. Not only that but you randy had sex, a lot. In his car, in your room, even at his work. There was of course close calls but nothing to serious. He got better at sex the more you two did it. Sometimes it was passionate and loving, others were more rough and animalistic.
"God, I'm not gonna have room for all this!" Randy exclaimed mentioning the boxes. You rolled your eyes, "It's everything, clothes, bedding, school supplies, all of it.".
Randy grabbed a box letting out a small huff. You patted his back, "you got this.".
"You better help that boy!" Your Aunt yelled out.
"Yeah!" Randy mocked smiling. You grabbed a box following him to the car. The trunk had all of Randy's bags stuffed into there. He placed the boxes in the back seat. You huffed back and forth between the car and the house.
"That's all of them!" You yelled out to Randy. He slammed the car door shut, "Thank God!" He cried over dramatically.
Your Aunt hugged you tightly sniffling, "Call when you can. Stay safe.".
"I will, I love you." You hugged her back tightly.
Months later
You banged on Randy's door, "Randy Meeks! Get your ass up!". He got drunk with his roommate, Paul last night. He called you slurring his words telling you how much he loves you. He opened the door, "Sorry, I was getting dress!".
"You look like shit." You laughed. His hair a bit messy and bags under his eyes.
"You look amazing too, darling" he said in a British accent.
You walked to class with him holding his hand. Some girls snickered at you as you passed them. Randy glanced at them, "What's their problem?".
"Don't worry about it. You know how some women are, don't grow out of the popularity in high school." You sighed.
"Pfft, yeah tell me about it." He said leaning close to your ear. His hot breath tickling the side of your face.
A frisbee passed by in front of you two, "Couldn't have caught it?! Dick.." some guy said running after it.
"See?" Randy gestured. You rolled your eyes, "Come on Mr.Meeks we have a film class to get to!".
"You know how I get when you call me that." He joked. You jokingly gave him a look, "You'll just have to rub it out in the bathroom.". He smiled hugging you from behind picking you up a bit.
"Or I could fuck you when Paul's gone"
You laughed tapping his arm to let you go. "Poor Paul needs a break from us pounding like dogs in there." You said walking into the building. Randy caught up with you, "Well this dogs ready to pounce.". He sprayed mouth spray in his mouth winking at you.

Australians can go to APAN, Australian Palestine Advocacy Network, which can help you send an email to your local representatives: here, remember you can personalise the email.
They also post about upcoming events and news around Australian Palestinian support. You can also volunteer and/or donate through them.
It's also a good idea to email our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Penny Wong. Her fax and phone call details are here, you can also send a message through the site, or email her at [email protected]
There is also AFOPA, Australian Friends of Palestine Association, which is an Adelaide-based organisation. They have events and campaigns listed on their website.
APHEDA, Australian People for Health, Education and Development Abroad, is a non-government organisation of the Australian union movement. They are based in Sydney and do a lot of advocate work in Queensland.
AUSPalestine is an independent network of Australian trade unions and unionists who are in support of Palestine.
Do your part and don't allow the ausgov to simply give words of comfort, especially after abstaining from the humanitarian truce.

Published: 16 Oct, 2023
Before the blood had even dried on the pavement of the Nova music festival in southern Israel, where Hamas terrorists ruthlessly murdered 260 young people on 7 October 2023, the Coalition for Liberated Ethnic Studies (CLES) began posting Instagram memes in support of “Palestinian Liberation.” The CLES is a collection of educational organizations that design curricula for US high schools. They aim to teach students about “critical consciousness and “intersectional forms of oppression.” One of the memes they posted advertised an upcoming “Long Live Palestinian Resistance” event and another gave a shout out to “The People’s Forum,” which organizes events in New York under the banner “From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free.” The academic activists of CLES are not first-generation immigrants from the Gaza Strip or the West Bank; they are largely home-grown ideologues who teach ethnic and gender studies at American universities and are now seeking to disseminate their ideas in US primary and secondary schools.
Even I—the jaded author of the book Woke Antisemitism and founder of a Jewish organization dedicated to countering this growing variant of the world’s oldest hatred—was stunned by their rhetoric. I would have thought that they would say that the murder of civilians was awful, but that Israel had it coming. But there was not even a token condemnation of Hamas’ violence on 7 October. Instead, the decolonizers publicly justified the bloodletting.
And then came the protests. Before a single Israeli bomb dropped in Gaza, the organizer of a gathering in New York’s Times Square celebrated the violent rampages in front of a cheering crowd. Alluding to the murdered festival-goers, he joked, “As you might have seen, there was some sort of rave or desert party. They were having a great time and then the resistance came in electrified hang gliders and took at least several dozen hipsters.”
At a massive rally on the steps of the Sydney Opera House three days after the massacre, protesters chanted “Gas the Jews.” And—among other calumnies on campuses across North America—thirty-one Harvard student groups issued a statement of solidarity with Hamas, pronouncing Israel “entirely responsible” for the terrorist group’s slaughter.
There are two distinct but overlapping camps of the social justice left. The radical decolonization camp is made up of extremist academics, anarchists, and Black Lives Matter activists. It is anti-Western, anti-American, and antisemitic to its core. It would be easy to dismiss these people as ideological quacks—if it were not for their outsized role in US educational institutions.
By “decolonization,” they don’t mean a colonial power extricating itself from a former colony; they mean the process of freeing institutions and spheres of activity from the cultural or social influences of what they perceive as the dominant white Western class. One early leader of the liberated ethnic studies movement, R. Tolteka Cuauhtin, has denounced the United States as a “Eurocentric, white supremacist, capitalist, patriarchal, hetero-patriarchal, and anthropocentric paradigm brought from Europe.” Influenced by decades of anti-Zionist Soviet propaganda, the decolonizers reserve special ire for the “settler-colonial state” of Israel, and call for the “liberation of Palestine,” by which they mean the displacement of the interloper Jews from their homeland. Witnessing the decolonisers’ zeal for obliterating the Jewish state, political scientist Wilfred Reilly quipped, “De-colonization is just ethnic cleansing, but woke.”
Those of us fighting the decolonizers have a golden opportunity to discredit them and undercut their influence in the days ahead. In their rationalizations of violence against Jews and Israelis, they’ve outed themselves as the extremists they are. School superintendents who might have seen them as credible educational partners in the new “diversity” initiatives will now have a hard time justifying their role to school boards and community members.
Then there’s the reformist, DEI camp, populated by people who have been deeply influenced by the same forms of neo-Manichaean postmodern thought, but who seek not to overthrow the capitalist system, but to reshuffle the deck of power. Unlike the decolonisers, their antisemitism tends to be latent. They insist that Jews are white, place them in white racial “affinity groups” and frequently downplay the validity of antisemitic claims as distractions from the important task of combating anti-blackness. They include mealy-mouthed university presidents and school superintendents, who see Muslims as a marginalized community and thus susceptible to “harm,” whereas Jews are a privileged minority and thus immune from such harm. These administrators are often held captive by the commitments and hires they made in the summer of 2020 during the great American racial reckoning. Some of them see Western cultural norms, such as being on time to work, as forms of white supremacy. They issue endless statements about racial justice and rightly condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but they found themselves tongue-tied when Israelis were victims of a slaughter, and their Jewish students were in obvious pain. Suddenly, they rediscovered the merits of academic neutrality and free speech. They, too, stand to lose cultural clout in the intensifying anti-woke backlash.
Two and a half years ago, I left my job as CEO of the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA), the prestigious 75-year-old umbrella body of national and local Jewish advocacy organizations across the US. As a liberal lefty myself, I worried that a radical, illiberal ideology was gaining ground in my own ideological backyard, a phenomenon I first wrote about more than twenty years ago, in a 2003 article for Washington Jewish Week entitled “Consistent Moral Message Missing.” In the wake of the George Floyd murder, I watched with dismay as Jewish organizations in my field fell in line with anti-racist pieties, desperate to remain aligned with their civil rights partners, many of whom had long ditched their liberal principles. While still employed at the JCPA, I wrote articles for Areo Magazine and other publications, expressing my concern. As soon as my departure was official, I wrote a widely circulated article “My Cheshbon Hanefesh (accounting of the soul in Hebrew) for Cowardice in the Face of Wokeness,” which sparked much debate in the Jewish community.
In May 2021, I founded the Jewish Institute for Liberal Values to fight for viewpoint diversity and against the encroachment of radical social justice ideology in the Jewish world. That very month fighting broke out in Gaza between Israel and Hamas, and some of the responses to that conflict foretold our current reality. Media coverage of the ongoing conflict since it first broke out in June 2008, and of each subsequent conflict—in December 2008, November 2012, June 2014, and May 2018, and right up until May 2021—unfolded in a predictable pattern. The stories and editorials first acknowledged that Israel must have leeway to defend itself against Hamas rocket fire aimed at Israeli civilians. Then, as casualties mounted, the coverage turned against Israel, and, within a few days, the same outlets lambasted the Jewish state for using “disproportionate force.” In May 2021—when the last round occurred—Israel was not given the usual benefit of the doubt. In even the earliest stages of the conflict, Israel was demonized as the oppressor in some quarters. “If you've been paying attention to social media over the past week, you will have seen this same attempt to redefine the Israeli–Palestinian conflict as a racial power dynamic, casting Israel as infinitely powerful and Palestinians as completely without agency,” Batya Ungar-Sargon pointed out in a Newsweek editorial. I knew then that the fight against wokeness was not just about preserving free thought, but about combating a variant of antisemitism that grows out of the same ideological conditions that stifle free thought.
I have never been entirely at ease making the case for the growth of “woke antisemitism” in liberal humanist circles. Liberal humanists like me are highly suspicious of promiscuous accusations of racism and bigotry, and oppose dogmatic declarations that only marginalized groups with “lived experience” of oppression are entitled to an opinion on social issues. Such political attitudes are the essence of cancel culture. Yet here I was arguing that the very ideology that produced cancel culture also fueled a new variant of antisemitism that sees Jews as white and privileged. In highlighting the threat of antisemitism, I was concerned that I might be engaging in the same tactics as the people I critique.
From the outset, however, I made it clear that I didn’t regard my analysis of antisemitism as beyond scrutiny. I reject the now oft-repeated claim among some Jews, who, echoing the assertions of minority political activists in other communities, argue that only Jews get to define antisemitism. I sought to discuss antisemitism in liberal, not postmodern terms, encouraging multiple viewpoints about the extent and nature of contemporary Jew hatred. But in the eyes of some fellow liberal humanists, I was still partaking in the identity politics of the day.
Now, in the aftermath of the massacre, I sense a shift. Awakened by the outpouring of Jew hatred in the wake of the massacre in Israel, many liberal humanist friends have expressed their shock. This magazine’s editor-in-chief Claire Lehmann has stated, “I don't think I ever really understood anti-Semitism until now. And it is frightening.” Skeptic Magazine editor Michael Shermer was exasperated by the hypocrisy of many:
When I left my perch at JCPA, I was immediately regarded as a heretic by a number of former colleagues. Some actively tried to prevent me from giving speeches about the topic in their Jewish communities. But, on this front, too, I sense movement. This past week, I received a surprise email from one of my chief antagonists on Twitter, Paul Hackner, a South African-born Jewish leftist who earlier excoriated me for using the term “woke” which, he insisted, “is about compassion and awareness AND you weaponized to express a fragile need to be comfortable when addressing racism.” After the massacre, he told me: “It's clear there is a revanchist left in North America that is allying with Hamas. The firestorm of hatred is raging. Hamas is a death cult. Sad to say you were right. Thanks for engaging with me. It helped me find moral clarity.”
Even among Israel’s most ardent Jewish critics, such as Joshua Leifer, a leftist writer and editor for Dissent Magazine, there’s indignation about moral callousness on the left. “There's also a deep sense that the left abroad has lost the values it was supposed to stand for,” he has stated:
I thought we were leftists because we wanted a world without war, torture, the killing of families and children in their beds I thought we were leftists because we abhor cruelty, detest violence, and believe in the inherent, even divine, worth of all human life. I thought we were leftists because our struggle was for all people to be able to live with freedom and dignity.
Leifer’s discontent might portend greater willingness among American Jews to take on their own political camp.
A local Jewish advocacy organization in my area, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington (JCRCGW), tore into the area school superintendent who originally failed to issue a statement of support for Israel and the Jewish community and later released only a tepid one. Much to my chagrin, the JCRCGW had previously actively participated in the school system’s yearlong “anti-racism audit” and subsequent implementation of DEI training and pedagogy. But when their partnership on anti-racism failed to elicit support for Jewish students in the schools in their time of need, the normally restrained JCRCGW lashed out:
We reserve our greatest anger and disappointment for Montgomery County Public Schools … [which has] consistently ignored our agencies’ urgent appeals over the last three days to respond appropriately and sensitively … if our schools can’t call out the brutal murder of Jews right before our eyes, of what use is the Holocaust education and cultural competency that we have worked together to advance?
I believe that this dogmatic version of “cultural competence,” which rigidly ties identity to privilege or oppression, is the source of the school system’s indifference to Jewish life in the first place. But given recent events, it seems unimaginable that mainstream Jewish leaders will continue to deny or ignore the role of ideology in the callousness toward the murder of Jews and the disregard for Jewish concerns. I, for one, will do everything in my power to place the topic on their agenda.
What could really turn the tide is if Jewish donors and trustees at major universities finally use the power of the purse. Marc Rowan, the chief executive officer of Apollo Global Management and the chair of the Board of Overseers of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, has taken his own university to task. “While Hamas terrorists were slaughtering Israeli Jews, university administrators were figuring out how to spin it,” he writes in The Free Press:
The responsibility also rests with many of our alumni leaders and trustees, myself included, who have sat by quietly as the pursuit of truth—the ostensible mission of our elite institutions—was traded for a poorly organized pursuit of social justice and political correctness.
“It’s long past time,” he argues, “for donors to take notice.”
It’s long past time for all of us to take notice. Let us hope that the horrors of the moment will not only be a turning point in the battle against antisemitism, but in the larger fight against radicalism and illiberalism in the West.
==
This was the world's easiest moral question: celebrate or condemn far-right religious terrorists who dismembered babies alive? And they got the answer wrong.
Atheists who defend Hamas lose the right to criticize the god of the bible.
Exodus 12:29-30
And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
Numbers 31:17-19
Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. And do ye abide without the camp seven days: whosoever hath killed any person, and whosoever hath touched any slain, purify both yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
Psalm 137:8-9
O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy shall he be, that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.
What bible-god did is what Hamas did. You don't get to criticize the morality of bible-god while defending a terrorist organization that did the same kind of thing.

Rumor: Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4 to Film in 2025 & Cast New Co-Leads
A new rumor surrounding the filming schedule and possible cast changes of Marvel’s highly anticipated Spider-Man 4 featuring Tom Holland has hit the internet. The upcoming film will bring him back as the beloved web-slinging superhero after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, the mysteries surrounding the plot and the cast have kept the fandom intrigued about what might be the next chapter in Peter Parker’s life. There is no official information yet regarding the plot, filming schedules, and cast of Spider-Man 4. However, the recent scoop is generating immense buzz.
New rumor gives filming and cast update for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4
A known Hollywood scooper, My Time to Shine Hello, has dropped some claims regarding the filming and cast of Tom Holland’s much-awaited Spider-Man 4.
My Time To Shine Hello recently shared a post on X ( formerly Twitter). The scooper wrote, ”Spider-Man 4 begins filming in the UK at the end of May 2025, and they’re casting a new female lead as well as a new male lead to serve as a foil for Peter.” At the ending of No Way Home, Tom Holland’s Peter Parker moves to a new place to start afresh. Meanwhile, his memory is wiped off from the minds of everyone he knows. This includes Zendaya’s MJ and Jacob Batalon’s Edward Leeds.
Thus, the rumor about the introduction of a new female character has been around for a long time. Previously, ComicBookMovie reported that My Time To Shine Hello also claimed about Sydney Sweeney possibly joining the MCU in Spider-Man 4. The Scooper claims she would be essaying Black Cat, a trusted ally of the web-slinger. However, there is no confirmation on the same.
Additionally, the buzz around the director of the movie is captivating the fans. According to a report by the Hollywood Reporter, Shang-Chi director Destin Daniel Cretton is in talks to helm the project. While on the other hand, Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna are working on the script, with Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal overseeing the project.

Is Kylie Minogue starting her 2025 world tour in Australia?
New Post has been published on https://qnews.com.au/is-kylie-minogue-starting-her-2025-world-tour-in-australia/
Is Kylie Minogue starting her 2025 world tour in Australia?
Kylie Minogue could be back on Australian stages as early as February 2025, as tea starts to spill that a Tension world tour announcement is coming very, very soon.
It’s been an excruciating wait for Aussies after Kylie’s renaissance last year with banger Padam Padam and album Tension.
At that time, the singer was focusing on her Las Vegas residency. After the residency wrapped up in May, Kylie’s schedule opened up.
For months, we’ve known that a world tour is coming. But music industry chatter about details and dates has ramped up over the last few weeks.
A tour announcement could even drop as soon as next week.
However it’s understood Kylie is planning to start the world tour in Australia in February 2025, at the end of our summer.
UK’s The Sun has also reported that US cities are next, before Kylie does arena shows in the UK and then all over Europe over summer in the Northern Hemisphere.
In July, Kylie herself casually dropped confirmation of an upcoming Australian tour during a radio interview here.
“I want to say yes. Yes. The answer is yes! We’re just locking down details,” she told the Fifi, Fev and Nick show on The Fox 101.9 in Melbourne.
“Maybe I wasn’t meant to say that, but yeah.”
Kylie Minogue hasn’t gone out on tour since Golden
Kylie Minogue’s last big gig in Australia was the huge Sydney WorldPride closing concert last year.
The upcoming Tension tour will be her first since the Golden era, with follow-up album Disco recorded and released at the height of the pandemic.
In July, Kylie was to headline Australian festival Splendour in the Grass, before the entire event was sadly cancelled.
After Tension last year, Kylie has been dropping collaborations all year – Dance Alone with Sia in February, Midnight Ride with out country star Orville Peck and Diplo in June, My Oh My with Bebe Rexha and Tove Lo in July and Edge of Saturday Night with The Blessed Madonna last month.
There’s more new music on the way too. Kylie shared that she was in the studio with UK EDM pro Joel Corry, amid talk of work on a “full-on dance album” at the time.
The Aussie icon recently signed a multi-million dollar Netflix deal for a documentary. That project is reportedly set to start filming before the end of the year.

Hello, Aussie anon here. I hope your doing well! I'm thinking and hoping Austin doesn't give two f's anymore about her or this situationship. It has been slowing a slow death and he has just kicked it along a bit more by having his PR team put the record straight knowing throughout this all he's been painted to be something he is not.
Also I'm sure he is getting ready for when this does end not, if but when, that her team will be ready to throw the mud!
Good on him. Fans, proper fans of him and his work know the truth and will be louder in the end.
So without being rude, but can we all now talk about Benny Cross and how he's going to kill us all on that motorbike. I feel I am going to be absolutely feral when I watch that movie. I already am but it may reach another level.
ps. Sydney rn on this Monday morning for Australia is freezing. It's so windy and a lovely 9 degrees so I hope he wears something warm lol
Yes! Benny will be my death. He will be the reason I go into an early grave. From what I heard, there's just gonna be a lot of scenes highlighting Austin's beauty on screen with like, prolonged shots of him. And jesus christ seeing this man's face on the big screen again will have me sent home in an ambulance
let us know if you end up going to the sydney bikeriders event this upcoming thursday, and how it was!

'The Barbenheimer (a hybrid of Barbie and Oppenheimer movie titles) phenomenon has dominated pop culture for months, and it's only ramping up further as both films finally approach their July 21 premiere date.
While fans have been going wild with memes, merchandise and continuous social media commentary about the upcoming Box Office clash, the cast of the movies have been loving the blockbuster battle between their films.
In fact, most of the casts from both project have shared plenty of praise for their release day rivals - though Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan has hinted that he won't be watching the other movie at all amid his feud with Warner Bros.
Greta Gerwig's Barbie sees Margot Robbie star as the eponymous Barbie doll alongside her boyfriend Ken, played by Ryan Gosling.
The cast is a who's who of Hollywood powerhouses, with Will Ferrell playing the CEO of Mattel, and Helen Mirren as the film's narrator.
In comparison to the bright and playful Barbie movie, Nolan's Oppenheimer sees Cillian Murphy star as titular nuclear physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, who created the atomic bomb during World War II.
Florence Pugh, Rami Malek, Josh Hartnett, and Sir Kenneth Branagh (who worked with Nolan on both Dunkirk and Tenet) are just some of the big names who also star in the movie.
When Greta was asked by The Hollywood Reporter to share her thoughts on the Barbie vs. Oppenheimer rivalry, she replied: 'It’s all love — double up, double up twice.
'I think you’ve got to see what the experience is, Barbie then Oppenheimer, Oppenheimer then Barbie. I think you’ve got to take all of the journeys.'
Issa Rae, who plays President Barbie, admitted to the publication: 'I think the Barbie and Oppenheimer rivalry is hilarious; I love that there’s solidarity though where people tried to pit us against one another but now it’s turned into a double-feature situation. Obviously you should see Oppenheimer first and then cleanse your palate with Barbie.'
She then explained why she insists on watching Nolan's film first as she continued: Why would I want to depress my weekend… it’s about an atomic bomb, people are gonna die.
'I want to end my weekend, I want to have mimosas and drinks and cocktails after Barbie, I don’t want to sulk. That’s just my plan, I don’t know about anybody else. As long as you’re seeing Barbie I don’t care.'
As for Barbie herself, Margot Robbie, made her show of support when attending a fan event Sydney, Australia.
In a video posted by username @mjcookie on Twitter, the actress was asked to sign a customized t-shirt featured a photo of Robbie in her Barbie costume and a cowboy hat enmeshed with a black and white photo of Cillian Murphy as Oppenheimer.
'Ok I have to sign it on this side and I hope you meet Cillian Murphy and he can sign the other side,' she quipped.
Meanwhile, at the London premiere, the actress revealed that she was tempted to make her own Barbenheimer shirt and getting Cillian Murphy to sign it.
The response to Barbenheimer from Nolan has been significantly different. When asked if he has seen the rival film, his answer was a curt 'No'.
And it isn't likely that the director will be watching the movie anytime soon due to his recent clash with Warner Bros.
After releasing many of his hit films with the movie studio, a dispute over the release of his 2020 flick, Tenet, saw him part ways with the company.
According to Insider, sources believe that Nolan was upset that Warner Bros. scheduled Barbie for release on the same weekend as Oppenheimer.
He was allegedly unimpressed due to the fact mid-July has been known in the movie business as Nolan's weekend for years.
However the director has publicly claimed that the competition is 'terrific.'
'Summer, in a healthy marketplace, is always crowded, and we've been doing this a long time,' Nolan told IGN.
'I think for those of us who care about movies, we've been really waiting to have a crowded marketplace again, and now it's here and that's terrific.'
Oppenheimer star Cillian Murphy also sees the double booking as a positive thing.
'I think it's great. I mean, I'll be going to see Barbie, 100 per cent. I can't wait to see it,' he told IGN.
'I think it's just great for the industry and for audiences that we have two amazing films by amazing filmmakers coming out the same day. You could spend a whole day in the cinema, what's better than that?'
When a picture of Gerwig and Margot posing with tickets for Oppenheimer was shared online, Murphy returned the favor and posted an edited snap of 'him and Nolan' with tickets to the Barbie movie.
His co-star Matt Damon shared a similar sentiment while talking to Vanity Fair as he stated: 'People are allowed to go see two movies in a weekend. Oppenheimer is one of them!"
When the publication then brought up the fact that Damon has four daughters that might be more interested in seeing the famous Mattel doll brought to life, he replied: 'I'll have to ask them that. If that's the case, they'll see two movies that weekend!'
Elsewhere, one movie superstar who doesn't even star in the movie has also shown his love for summer blockbuster battle.
During the Australian premiere of Mission Impossible, Tom Cruise revealed his plans to see both films on their opening weekend.
Speaking to The Sydney Morning Herald: 'I want to see both Barbie and Oppenheimer. I’ll see them opening weekend. Friday I’ll see Oppenheimer first and then Barbie on Saturday/
'I grew up seeing movies on the big screen. That’s how I make them, and I like that experience. It's immersive, and to have that as a community and an industry, it’s important. I still go the movies.'
Both Oppenheimer and Barbie will be released in the U.S. on July 21, and the world's largest cinema chain AMC Theatres has reported that more than 20,000 people have bought tickets to see both movies on the same day.'
