My Past Lives thoughts @callmesuyinbeifong :

Main thing that I loved so much was how even though they were in the same space they were still spatially separated by their environment. It being a simple stair railing at the carousel, or at the end, while waiting for his uber, when they were on the same street but different parcel, separated by this thin line. In a sense it's bit like the screen that separated them all those years was still there. The distance between the two is masterfully represented in the movie like ugh cinema.

Also all the lovers always surrounding them in the background...

I feel like Nora/Nayoung (just putting the / makes me think of the separation between her and her old self lol) chose with her mind and not her heart but that's just me. Like she knew what Nayoung wanted but as Nora now she chose the "wiser" solution. With a little chance Arthur dword young and she get the best of both worlds for Nora and Nayoung. I also don't believe that this situation healed her inner child. The wound will always be open because the "what if" are a curse that the human self must live along...

I will give Arthur his flowers because third wheeling while your wife is having a moment with her first love + comforting when you are a second choice lol give him his tens (I was rooting against him mind you). Learning your lover's language to understand her (even though I feel like it was his insecurities from being a short king who made him do this). Regardless he is here when he know that he is second after her work and ambitions. Sister know that she has to put herself first.

Being someone who read Under The Red Hood and came out with the firm belief that, for Jason, it's not about killing Joker, it's about Jason wanting proof Batman would choose him over the Joker (bc shelia chose the joker). Makes seeing any other media where it's all about just wanting the Joker dead is a teeny bit frustrating. to be honest

Jason could've killed the Joker himself, really, really easily. Jason kidnaps the Joker before the confrontation. I can't open my comic for a reference right now, but it felt like he had the Joker for quite a bit before the confrontation. He had him. He beat him up with a crowbar. He had every single opportunity to kill the Joker himself, but he didn't because that wasn't his goal. Make no mistake, he did plan for the Joker to be dead by the end of it, but do you see what im trying to say here

It's not about making Batman kill either. When Batman says he won't kill, Jason adjusts and goes, 'Let ME kill the Joker or kill me to stop me' instead. The test is all about Batman choosing him. The whole final confrontation is Jason's first death again. The parent, The Joker, and the explosives. It even ends with Jason unable to move as a bomb goes off right next to him again because the parent didn't choose Jason. And instead tried finding an option that'd benefit them and (consequencely) letting the Joker walk, again, lol, lmao <-in agony
