what about giyuu getting sick but not doing anything about it because they have their biannual meeting and there’s no way he’s missing it. so he arrives as usual, staying as quiet as ever. then, as the meeting goes on, he begins to feel the prologue of his fever worsening, his eyelids droopy as he struggles to focus. he makes it through to the end, though he only barely realizes it’s ended. the hashira are talking now, but giyuu takes immediately to the exit, ready to go home and find something to lower his temperature. as always, however, this doesn’t sit well with his companians. in a flash, sanemi’s in front of him, sabotaging his attempt to escape. giyuu flinches back, trying to sidle away. sanemi snatches him up by his uniform top, eyes narrowed. he goes to snap something, but giyuu’s head lolls down against his hand, apparently too tired to keep itself upright anymore. before sanemi can process that, he realizes giyuu is much, much too warm. he loosens his hold to bring his other hand up and press it to his forehead. at once, sticky heat burns against his skin and he retracts his hand, a scowl forming. the other hashira are behind him, unsure what’s happening. giyuu is still mildly conscious and he managed to lift his head to look at sanemi, stammering hoarsely, “i’ll go, shinazugawa. sorry.” but sanemi’s hauling his ass over to shinobu’s before the words fully make it past his lips. “shut the fuck up and go to sleep,” he snaps, shoving him into shinobu’s care as she notices right away what’s wrong. sighing, she enlists tengen’s help to carry him to the butterfly mansion, preparing a lecture of disappointment for giyuu’s lack of communication.

i adore the very fact that, when it comes to bakudeku being canonised, even the most convinced bakudeku haters’ main argument is literally “it’s unlikely cuz shounens don’t work that way, horikoshi wouldn’t make a gay ship canon cuz it’d piss people off”

the main argument against bkdk is literally “they’re gay so it’s not gonna happen”.

meaning that their chemistry is literally strong enough to make them the most obviously implied ship and the only thing that’s stopping it is people’s possible reaction.

meaning that no one would ever bat an eye if they were a mlw ship and everyone would just accept that they’re obvious af.
