the way that tdp has managed to have 2 trans characters that both have their identity explored in a way that feels so natural and real and is so powerful, and none of it is repetitive or forced-feeling or wrongly portrayed and god. i love this show

Listened to a podcast the other day discussing Season 6 Episode 2 with Jesse Inocalla (Voice of Soren) as the guest, and one part of it really reminded me of why I love Soren and Corvus, either as a romantic pair or even just as a friendship.

To summarize, the theme of the episode that the podcast picked out was the theme of acceptance, and Jesse Inocalla picked the last moment, where Corvus says "A good man with a big heart" to analyze through that lens. And he talked about Soren, who has wanted nothing more than to be loved as his complete self, not just as parts of himself (a crownguard, someone who is silly, someone who has gone through everything he has, etc.), and Corvus really being one of the first people to express that kind of love and acceptance towards him.

But then the host of the podcast asks Jesse about who is doing the accepting in that moment (as per the theme discussed), and I was surprised when Mr. Inocalla answers that Corvus (I believe part of his response were the words "fuck it, we ball" regarding when Corvus finally returns the hug after being caught off guard), and that speaks so much to this dynamic they have. Corvus, who is not big on physical affection, would say "fuck it, we ball" to a big hug from Soren. We see a little of his discomfort at the beginning of the episode when Soren (literally) picks him up. But in this moment, there is only a second of that, before acceptance. Acceptance of that affection, and accepting what Soren means to him, and what he means to Soren, and letting that vulnerability happen.

That's why Sorvus, or platonic Soren and Corvus, or whatever, has captured my heart so much. I just love them to bits.

like it really has been a crazy experience watching a theory made pre S4 and was built on so many assumptions such as

Aaravos wants the Key of Aaravos back

It is specifically tied to Callum playing into his hands

If the plot ever put Callum in a situation where his loved ones, specifically Rayla, were on the line, he'd do dark magic again

The plot will engineer a situation where Callum is forced to choose between Rayla and the greater good

all come into being one by one as arc 2 has gone on. whether the theory will come fully to fruition plot or characterization wise remains to be seen, but the fact that we've gotten this far and it's now generally predicted / fandom consensus that a "Rayla vs the greater good" conflict is happening next season, regardless of what Callum actually ends up choosing (her, self-sacrifice to trolley that problem, or another positive third path of some kind), is Fucking Crazy to me. theory of all time

I honestly think it could be pretty funny that just as Rayla was trying to talk to Callum in S4 with him refusing‚ season 6 is just the other way around and it will be just Rayla trying to avoid the conversation at all costs

Okie seeing this take on here but did Lou in any way confirm that bucktommy is a stepping stone to buddie??

No, I don't have the links to anything he's said, but he's been playing nice about buddie cuz ppl have ofc asked him about them (in the way that "hey is bucktommy a stepping stone for buddie" type way), but he's also kinda gently pressed to give bucktommy a chance. Which only makes sense! Like he's an actor, and 911 is one of the most popular scripted series on television right now. He wants to stick around! (I want him to stick around coughs)

People (certain shippers) just like to say everyone has said bucktommy is a stepping stone for buddie when no one has said that at all, and Tim has in fact said that buddie is not in the works right now. Oliver has said that he doesn't even know if he wants buddie to happen, but that he'd be open to the possibility of it should they decide to take the story in that direction (but has also said he doesn't want to tell the story of a man discovering he is bisexual and automatically be seen as having feelings for his male friends).

But people take all of these other things of them going "I could see this [about buddie]" and taking it as a confirmation of things to come for Buck & Eddie when... that's not what they're saying at all.

I've decided not to worry about it & enjoy the ride Tim is going to take us on & considering he keeps calling BuckTommy a "love story" and a "rom-com", well.....
