The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) and its integration with military RAS has the potential to change future warfare. It will help in reducing endangering risks to soldiers, air forces, and marines that possibly result in a generation of less expensive manned systems.
Growing demand to increase warfighter lethality and remove soldiers from dangerous situations is propelling the global military RAS market. The deployment of military RAS focuses on counterinsurgency and counterterrorism operations, with modernization for traditional ground combat receiving less emphasis.
Military robotic and autonomous systems manufacturers are anticipated to enhance payload and propulsion systems, which will result in improved operational capabilities and a shorter development cycle time.

I write articles mecha and design -- and occasionally I use human-factors-engineering and psychology to make deeply invasive reads of what the future might be like.
The writing is simultaniously equal parts thesis to microfic a lot of the time, so your milage may vary.
I'm also building a very experimental mecha sim which aims to solve long-unresolved problems in the mech-game genre, and in game-design as a whole.
Scroll through the mess below and find what suits you best.

The future of the U.S. Air Force's next-generation fighter jet, the Next-Generation Air Dominance (NGAD), will be decided by the end of the year, the service's top officer said on October 25.
"We intend to have this by December," said the Chief of Staff, General David W. Allvin, at the Conference of Military Reporters and Editors in Washington, D.C. "We also want to be able to influence the Department's Presidential Budget Proposal in February."
As currently designed, the NGAD combat aircraft is a "very expensive and very capable manned platform," Allvin said. The U.S. Air Force paused the project this summer, as it was reaching a point of decision to choose among competing designs to replace the F-22 Raptor. Instead of committing, Air Force Secretary Frank Kendall wanted to make sure that the USAF was not betting its future on a capacity that could be obtained at a lower cost if the requirements were changed.
The design of the NGAD precedes the progress that the USAF has made with the semi-autonomous Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA). Allvin said that the Air Force plans to have more than 150 CCAs in service over the next five years.
CCAs do not require life support systems and can be developed for a fraction of the cost of manned fighters. This is raising questions about what the mixture of manned and unmanned aircraft should be.
"NGAD is a family of systems," said Allvin. "A part of the system is the NGAD manned air penetration platform. Some would say it's the continuation of the F-22. ... It is part of a family of systems. This family of systems includes Collaborative Combat Aircraft, which are not manned. But they are already in progress."
The U.S. Air Force is studying its future force design at the same time, driven by China's growing army and its anti-access/area denial strategy in the South China Sea. The manned NGAD platform should be able to penetrate these defenses, but the threat today is greater than it was just a few years ago.
"The ability to say: 'We know that when this platform delivers, it will face the threat' - I think we are less sure about it than we had when we designed it," said Allvin.
"We are now at the point where... if we follow this path, this will be a very, very expensive program," Alvin added. "The question is, with the cost, the capacity and where the threat is, is it the right choice?"
Stoping to consider all the options is not "rolling slowly or stagnating," said Allvin. "I would call this something prudent because, once we pass through this one-way door, it is difficult to change direction."
The U.S. Air Force set the cost of the NGAD at "hundreds of millions of dollars," but Kendall said in September that he wants the capacity of the NGAD on a much less expensive platform: no more than the cost of today's F-35 - less than half the cost of the projected NGAD manned aircraft.
The CCAs were what changed Kendall's thinking. Designed to work closely with the F-35 and B-21 Raider bombers, they could reduce the need for a penetrating fighter jet and make the additional B-21s more attractive to planners. The U.S. Air Force never said that the NGAD would resemble the F-22 or other fighter-type platforms designed to outperform rival fighters. Its mission is to penetrate and suppress enemy air defenses, which can make it more like a smaller and faster stealth bomber.
Would the Air Force consider buying more than the 100 B-21s planned now? Allvin replied: "We didn't take it off the table."
However, developing and fielding manned NGAD aircraft remains a possibility, Allvin said. "I don't like people to have the assumption that, because we are stopping and analyzing, we are moving away from it," he said. "This decision was not made."
A high-level panel, including three former Air Force Chiefs of Staff, a former Vice President of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and two leading civilian experts is reviewing the evidence now and will recommend a way forward in December.
"As we analyze this, we need to understand: 'Is this the best for the cost of what we think the threat will be?' And 'Is this the best way to achieve air superiority?'", said Allvin. "And if we find out that this platform design, as currently instantiated, is the best... we have to figure out how to pay for it."

I Read Project 2025, So Here's A Rundown I Guess: Part 3.3
Idk if this counts as political, but I'm just reading the stupid book online and putting down what it basically says and some other stuff i Guess. (it could get political I guess? Idk. Just kinda wanted to make these posts since I'm reading the book and I kept getting annoyed with people just saying what the book says instead of writing down exactly what it says and what page to find it on)
(That's not saying I won't do the same thing, but for some things I'll rewrite what it says unless it just needs to be summarized. I will have page numbers though)
(also, if this stuff does go into effect, I will be fearing for my life and the lives of many others for the effects this could have on people. for lgbtq, minorities in religion, race, and ethnicity, and those who are poor. this will effect everyone and a lot of people should be afraid of it. that is not be getting political, that is me saying that this is a scary plan meant to give powerful people even more power)
(also, if you want a faster rundown than waiting for me to give shitty interpretations of this, go to the wiki here. it sums it up pretty well, but it doesn't state everything.)
Department of Defense Reforms -
U.S. Army:
Increase army's budgets to remain the world's most powerful land power, accelerate development of army weapon modernization to replace outdated combat systems, increase funding to improve army training, increase army force structure by 50,000 to handle two major regional issues simultaneously, reform recruiting efforts to recruit more people (Pages 108-109)
Increase production and keeping of critical ammunition and repair parts fir weapons, prioritize adding expeditionary planning in all weapon designs to better the chance of having an advantage, increase the level of joint force training with other branches, prepare to remove soldiers from U.S. based transportation buildings that have been compromised by opposing forces (Page 109)
"Stop using the Army as a test bed for social evolution," demand accountability in senior leaders to help increase public support for military service, reestablish bases to help gain experience for high-ranking officers for the planning and leadership of army formations in large scale operations, examine logic of up-and-coming army concepts about using long range weapons and their effects without considering how to gain an advantage by closing in and defeating an enemy on land, realize that high intensity land combat operations cannot be sustained through unit rotations during said combat, change national guard deployment structure during extended operations to prevent destabilization and preserve military volunteerism in communities, change army school curriculum to concentrate on preparing for large land operations that focus on defeating the threat, address the underlying causes that are increasing army suicide rates (Pages 109-110)
U.S. Navy:
Build a fleet of more than 355 ships, develop and implement unmanned systems to help manned forces, require that range and lethality be key factors in making and sustaining ships, aircraft, and munitions (Page 111)
Reestablish the general guard to better than it is now (an advisory position that helps make decisions on strategies and basic ship decisions) (Page 111)
"Harness innovation and willingness to tolerate risk so that 'good enough' systems can be fielded rapidly," use the space development agency as a model (an agency that delivers space-based capabilities to war fighters faster and cheaper by using commercial development), establish an oversight board of directors (Page 111)
Produce key ammunitions at the maximum rate with significant capacity, employ the widest range of techniques to enhance ammunition supply chains and workforce (Page 112)
Mandate qualifications that show a core competent in war fighting, make the Headquarters Staff focused on Warfighter Development to develop such requirements, require war games to be used as experience gaining learning environments, make sure it is known that navy forces can and must maintain the ability to defend sovereign territories like out allies and partners, "train to balance the effects from kinetic to no kinetic and from lethal to nonlethal through effective command and control" (whatever that means) (Page 112)
U.S. Air Force:
Adopt a two-war force defense strategy to help attain resources the Air Force requires quicker, eliminate pass-through funding (funding that is sent to a state agency or institution and is then sent where it is needed from there), increase the Air Force budget by 5 percent annually (Pages 113-114)
Increase F-35A attainment to 60-80 per year, increase build capacity for B-21 to produce 15-18 per year, increase Air Force aerial fueling capacity, develop and buy larger quantities of advanced mid-range weapons that are sized to maximum targets per attack, accelerate the development and production of the Sentinel Intercontinental Ballistic Missile, increase the number of EC-37B electronic warfare aircrafts from 10-30 (Page 114)
Attain an optimized advanced battle management system, produce the next generation of air dominance systems for aircrafts, improve moving target engagement capability and capacity against sea, sea surface, and ground mobile targets, build more resilient communications and sustainment for survival in a "contested environment," establish a vigorous and sufficiently funded electromagnetic spectrum operations recovery plan (a plan to better recover troops with electromagnetic systems) (Pages 114-115)

Long-Lost US Submarine From World War II Found off Japan
The long-lost wreckage of a U.S. Navy submarine credited with sinking nearly a dozen enemy ships during World War II before vanishing in late 1944 has been found off the coast of northern Japan, Navy officials announced Thursday.
The USS Albacore’s wreckage was confirmed by the Naval History and Heritage Command’s Underwater Archaeology Branch after it was located recently off the coast of Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, the Navy said in a news release. The NHHC used information and imagery provided by Tamaki Ura, a University of Tokyo professor who has specialized in developing autonomous underwater vehicles to confirm the identity of the submarine. The Albacore disappeared while patrolling in the Pacific Ocean and had at least 85 sailors aboard.
“As the final resting place for [U.S.] sailors who gave their life in defense of our nation, we sincerely thank and congratulate Dr. Ura and his team for their efforts in locating the wreck of Albacore,” Samuel Cox, the director of the NHHC, said in a statement. “It is through their hard work and continued collaboration that we could confirm Albacore’s identity after being lost at sea for over 70 years.”
The Albacore was last heard from by the U.S. military on Oct. 28, 1944, when it stopped at Midway for fuel en route for its 11th combat patrol in the waters off northern Japan, according to Naval records. The Gato-class submarine was believed sunk in a Nov. 7, 1944, underwater explosion reported in Japanese military records, likely the result of hitting an underwater mine. The location of the ship’s wreckage appeared to confirm those details, according to the Navy.
Before the sub’s sinking, the Albacore had proved a capable warship. The vessel was built by the Electric Boat Company and commissioned into the Navy on June 1, 1942. The Navy credited the submarine with sinking at least 10 enemy ships during its brief tenure — earning the Albacore nine battle stars for meritorious participation in battle and four Presidential Unit Citations for extraordinary heroism in combat. The Navy said the Albacore might have been responsible for sinking three additional ships during the war, but those have not been confirmed.
Among the sub’s known sinkings were Japanese destroyers, freighters and the 31,000-ton Japanese aircraft carrier Taiho, then the newest and largest carrier in the Japanese fleet. Taiho sunk hours after being struck by a torpedo fired by the Albacore during the Battle of the Philippine Sea, according to the Navy. The Albacore’s crew did not know at the time that they had sunk the flagship after diving deep to escape incoming aerial attacks. Months later, the Albacore’s top officer at that time, Lt. Cmdr. James Blanchard, was awarded the Navy Cross, the service’s second-highest honor for combat heroics, for his role in sinking the Taiho.
The Navy said Ura used unmanned underwater craft to locate the Albacore based on Japanese records documenting the Nov. 7, 1944, explosion off Hokkaido.
“Strong currents, marine growth and poor visibility on site made it challenging to fully document the wreck or obtain comprehensive images,” the Navy statement said. “However, several key features of a late 1944 Gato-class submarine were identified in the video.”
Those features included the presence of a SJ Radar dish and mast, a row of vent holes along the top of the superstructure and the absence of steel plates along the ship’s upper edge consistent with the Albacore’s construction at the time that the submarine was last seen, according to the Navy.
The Albacore’s wreckage now falls under the NHHC’s jurisdiction and is protected from intrusion by U.S. law, the Navy said.
“The wreck represents the final resting place of sailors that gave their life in defense of the nation and should be respected by all parties as a war grave,” the Navy statement reads.

Welcome to a short rant I am titling:
The Vanguard Does Not Know How To Fight A War
Written by someone who writes entirely too many fictional wars and knows entirely too much about fighting them.
The catalyst for my rage was the opening to Lightfall.
So. We begin with a large-scale fleet action between a Shadow Legion-Pyramid Ship fleet and the Traveller.
There is zero trace of any Vanguard-aligned ship in the sector, save for Jumpships. These Jumpships are fighting essentially unsupported against a very large Cabal fleet.
Ladies, gentlemen, and comrades, we are looking at a society with the capability to transmute Glimmer into anything and the ability to have Single-Stage-To-Orbit ships, and yet they cannot figure out what a missile is.
Given that we have had the technology for unmanned objects in space since we first put something into space, and the fact that we currently have the capability to guide things in space around with our only limiting factors being fuel capacity (something that does not seem to limit our ships in Destiny), we should be capable of putting together a very effective ground-to-space missile system.
BUILD ANTI-SHIP MISSILES! FIRE THEM AT THE SHADOW LEGION SHIPS! I mean, fuck, you should've learned this lesson from the god damn Red War. Cabal point defense sucks; the only instance I can think of where it actually worked worth a damn might not have even been Cabal. (Remember when we stole a ship, sabotaged the Almighty and then were shot down as we were heading to fight Ghaul? That incident. And it might not have even been a Cabal anti-aircraft system that shot us down.)
Second: A multitude of these Jumpships were shot down, and yet there doesn't seem to be ANYONE performing Search And Rescue operations until days later.
WE HAVE A BASIC UNDERSTANDING OF RE-ENTRY PHYSICS! Fuck that, we have Ghost scanners! We can easily track a downed Jumpship, figure out their projected crash site, and have a Jumpship to pick up the pilot within hours, unless we somehow forgot what IFF is in the Destiny universe. For proof, I offer the fact that we were repeatedly able to predict the landing site of low-orbit WARSATs within metres of their actual landing site.
Third: We have seen how effective Guardian boarding parties can be. We have single-handedly crippled at least two ships, by my count, and boarded at least five, four of which were in the air. Now, sure, the Guardian is a special case—but send in a Fireteam to cause chaos on some smaller ships! They don't even actually have to successfully cripple the ship; just the attempt would make the Cabal far more hesitant about risking their ships in LEO or atmosphere.
Fourth: You have all of these massive artillery pieces on the Walls. Did you ever consider putting in some anti-aircraft batteries?! I mean, come on! All that open space is just begging for a few missile silos. If it doesn't fit there, station MLRS systems on top of the walls! Come on, guys!
Fifth: If you have the ability to transmat a Guardian, you have the ability to transmat a very large pile of explosives—or a tactical nuclear weapon. I'm not sure even a Pyramid Ship could stand up to a nuke. This could work in conjunction with our Guardian boarding parties, too. Get a team of Guardians onboard a ship, a la Halo: Reach. Give them a transmat beacon. Slip a nuclear device onto the ship, let the Guardians transmat away, and boom. New orbital debris.
"But what about orbital debris destroying the City?" If that was an issue the Vanguard wouldn't be engaging Shadow Legion ships at all, next question.
Sixth: Why are your anti-fighter Jumpships, which are designed for air-to-air combat, not equipped with missiles? If you can pull those maneuvers in a Jumpship you can make a missile do it, so the void isn't the issue. What is?

(16 November 2023)
In the General direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation:
▫️ Operational-Tactical and Army Aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles, Missile Troops and Artillery of the Russian Groups of Forces eliminated one command post of the AFU 128th Mountain Assault Brigade near Dmitrovo (Zaporozhye region), as well as manpower and military hardware in 132 areas.
▫️ Fighter jets of the Russian Aerospace Forces shot down one MiG-29 aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force close Krasnoarmeysk (Donetsk People's Republic).
▫️ Air defence systems have shot down two HIMARS MLRS projectiles and one U.S.-made JDAM aerial guided bomb.
▫️ In addition, 26 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down close to Kremennaya (Lugansk People's Republic), Novoandreyevka, Lipovoye (Donetsk People's Republic), Mirnoye, Romanovskoye, and Pavlovka (Zaporozhye region).
📊 In total, 536 airplanes and 254 helicopters, 8,960 unmanned aerial vehicles, 441 air defence missile systems, 13,426 tanks and other armoured fighting vehicles, 1,184 combat vehicles equipped with MLRS, 7,121 field artillery guns and mortars, as well as 15,312 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.
🔹 Russian Defence Ministry
#source1
▫️ In the Kupyansk direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, units of the Zapad Group of Forces supported by aviation and artillery repelled three attacks of the AFU 32nd and 67th mechanised brigades near Sinkovka and Zagoruykovka (Kharkov region).
The enemy losses amounted to up to 110 Ukrainian troops, one tank, two infantry fighting vehicles, and one U.S.-made M777 artillery system.
Russian Forces continue operations in the direction of Liman Pershyi, with video published by Russian sources in the area of the movement of Ukrainian Forces through the forests outside the city just north of Synkovka. After the vehicle gets stuck and a second vehicle comes to tow it, Russian artillery forces opened fire on them.
According to the source:
The Kozak armored car could not cope with the off-road conditions in the area of the settlement. Sinkovka and therefore the good old “Motolyga” pulled him out.
The scouts of the 6th Army of the Western Group of Forces could not resist such a gift and sent artillery to their aid.
#source2
Outside Yahidne, some Russian sources claim to have captured Ivanivka, or part of Ivanivka, however no video evidence has been produced as of yet to give evidence to this.
No other changes in territory were recorded for the region.
▫️ In the Krasny Liman direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Tsentr Group of Forces' units, as well as strikes of helicopters and artillery, repelled one attack of an assault detachment of the AFU 12th Azov Special Forces Brigade close to Chervonaya Dibrova (Lugansk People's Republic).
In addition, strikes were delivered at clusters of enemy manpower and hardware near Torskoye (Donetsk People's Republic) and Serebryansky forestry.
The enemy losses were up to 175 Ukrainian troops killed and wounded, two pick-up trucks, and two U.S.-made M777 artillery system.
No video updates are coming from this area, despite constant reporting of fighting ongoing in the area complete with consistent update from the Russian MoD on Ukrainian losses. Perhaps all is not as well as the Ministry would like its people to think but aren't yet ready to reveal this, perhaps because of ongoing operations or plans. Whatever it may be, this area remains in a virtual black out.
No territorial changes have been recorded or claimed.
▫️ In the Donetsk direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, units of the Yug Group of Forces supported by aviation and artillery repelled 14 attacks, and inflicted fire damage on AFU manpower and hardware close to Kleshcheyevka, Artyomovo, Georgiyevka, and Novomikhailovka (Donetsk People's Republic).
In total, the enemy lost up to 240 troops killed and wounded, one tank, and three motor vehicles in this direction during the day.
In course of counterbattery warfare, one U.S.-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery gun, two Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery systems, three U.S.-made M777 artillery systems, as well as one MT-12 Rapira anti-tank gun were neutralised.
In the north of Avdiivka, Russian operations to expand their zone of control in the area of Stepove continues, with RU Forces making progress in the treelines and trenches along the rail lines towards the direction of Ocheretyne.
While a second push towards the Avidiivka chemical plant is evidenced by a video from Ukrainian sources showing Russian infantry holding positions in a trench network geolocated to the very northeastern corner of the chemical plant, just outside its perimeter.
#source3
On the south of Avdiivka, Russian Forces have made considerable progress in the area of Yasynuvatskyy Ln, advancing a distance in recent days, evidenced by geolocated Ukrainian video showing the successful targeting of a Russian T-72B which was advancing up the lane.

In the Siversk direction, in the village of Spirne, heavy fighting has started up in the area, with a multitude of videos recently from both sides evidencing an intensifying of the fighting here, in one of the quieter areas of the Special Military Operation.
Ukrainian Forces in the Spirne area published a geolocated video of drone work in the area, with the successful targeting of a Russian store of TM-62 mines to stupendous visual effect, killing upwards of 20 Russian soldiers collecting mines in the area.
According to the source:
Destruction of enemy TM-62 mines thanks to FPV-kamikaze. South of the village of Spirne, Donetsk region.
#source5
While Russian Forces in the area published video of drone operations on Ukrainian positions on the neighboring side of Spirne from the last geolocated video.
According to the source:
The scouts of Detachment GORB 2AK are terrorizing the enemy’s defensive position at the Spornoye NP with drops and FPV
#source6
Lastly, also in the Spornoye direction, dispicably, Ukrainian Forces have introduced women to the frontline of Spirne, after Russian Forces made advances on some Ukrainian edge-line positions, they worked their way through the newly captured trenches to find multiple dead Ukrainian women inside the trench network, and produced video evidence of this horrifying update.
This isn't to suggest women cannot fight in wars, but this update suggests Ukraine is running out of men to feed into the meat grinder, and are now actively pursuing women to use in this same way. As meat to fill the trenches they expect their soldiers to die in.
According to the source:
BREAKING: Ukraine uses WOMEN in frontal battle units near Spornoe.
➡️ They’re running out of people …
crazy.

▫️ In the South Donetsk direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, units of the Vostok Group of Forces, helicopters, and artillery inflicted losses on manpower and hardware of the AFU 79th Air Assault Brigade and 128th Territorial Defence Brigade near Ugledar and Konstantinovka (Donetsk People's Republic).
The enemy losses were up to 70 servicemen, two armoured fighting vehicles, and two pick-up trucks.
In course of the counter-battery warfare, one Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system and one UK-made FH70 howitzer were destroyed.
In the Krasnohorivka direction, Russian Forces continue heavy artillery and bomb preparation in this area, with Russia Forces in the area publishing video of their night work on Ukrainian positions in the south of the city where Russian Forces have made advances in the previous week.
According to the source:
And day at night, specialists from our Brigade conduct operational and combat work. The coordinated interaction of scouts, artillery and BMP crews of the 5th Brigade is producing results: the enemy is suffering losses around the clock. So, meter by meter, we are returning our lands!
#source8
In the Novoprokopivka area, Russian Forces continue heavy bombing and artillery preparation from both the north and south of the village, with Russian sources publishing video of FAB500 strikes on the north of the village.
According to the source:
FAB-500 with UMPC fly into the air traffic control zone at enemy strongholds in Novomikhailovka
#source9
▫️In the Zaporozhye direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, units of the Russian Group of Forces, aviation and artillery inflicted fire damage on manpower and hardware of the 33rd, 116th, and 118th mechanised brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine close to Rabotino, Uspenovka, and Malaya Tokmachka (Zaporozhye region).
The enemy's losses in this area amounted to up to 100 troops, two tanks, two armoured fighting vehicles, as well as one Giatsint-B gun.
Russian Forces published video today of a major strike on the headquarters of the 115th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Also, according to today's update from the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, an 128th Mountain Assault Brigade in Dmitrovo, destroying a meeting of the officers. One of many strikes in recent weeks in the area. Very difficult to understand what exactly is happening in this area.
A previous video published on November 4th was also said to be on the 128th Brigade, and many are getting these two strikes confused. However, it is clear from the video these were two separate strikes, with the first strike on Nov 4th using Tornado-S MLRS, while the second strike was likely an Iscandar missile strike.

Fighting continues in the vicinity of Verbove, with Russian Forces heavily bombing and shelling Ukrainian positions on the western outskirts of the village as Ukrainian Forces continue with irregular assaults.
A similar situation in the west of Robotyne. Russian Forces are heavily bombing and shelling the western outskirts of the village using a variety of weapons including drones, howitzers, mortars and MLRS.
For instance, Russian Forces published video showing the work of their FPV drone operators in the vicinity of the western outskirts of Robotyne.
According to the source:
Positional combat operations in the Orekhovsky direction.
Shelling of a Ukrainian Armed Forces position in the west of Rabotino by an FPV drone of the Russian Armed Forces.
#source13
▫️ In the Kherson direction:
According to the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, up to 70 Ukrainian servicemen and two motor vehicles were neutralised as a result of fire defeat during the day.
Also, one U.S.-made M109 Paladin self-propelled artillery system, one U.S.-made M777 artillery system, and Msta-B howitzer were hit during counter-battery warfare.
Bombing and shelling continues towards Krynky with few updates.
In the area of Mykilske, Russian sources published video of an accurate strike on a Ukdainian self-propelled howitzer.
According to the source:
Kherson direction, a self-propelled artillery unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (self-propelled guns, 2S1) is firing at our positions and at civilian infrastructure facilities. Trying to hide from retaliation in the hangar. Two accurate shots, she was never seen again.
Best regards, " Junker" I have the honor!
#source14
Russian sources published video showing the targeting of a suspicious Ukrainian barge on the Dnieper in the vicinity of Dniprovske, though I have yet to hear any updates on what this ship might have been or what damage was done to it.
According to the source:
In the riverbed of the Dnieper, our troops spotted a barge that had suspicious enemy activity.
Prevention of the enemy being near the object was carried out successfully. Reportedly, the barge was later sunk.
#source15
While a second video published by the same source show the successful targeting of Ukrainian armored vehicles in the Kherson direction by Russian missile forces.
According to the source:
Our missile defense system destroys another enemy concentration off the banks of the Dnieper.

‘Biggest, baddest warship’
The USS Gerald Ford is the Navy’s newest and most advanced aircraft carrier.
Commissioned in 2017, the ship is named after former President
, who served in the Navy during World War II. Measuring more than 1,100 feet long, 255 feet wide and 250 feet high, the $18 billion vessel is the largest warship ever built.
The 5-acre flight deck can carry up to 90 aircraft, including F-35 fighter jets, The carrier’s size allows it to support up to 90 aircraft, including F-35s, F/A-18 Super Hornets, E-2D Advanced Hawkeyes, EA-18G Growlers, SH-60/MH-60 Seahawk helicopters and other aerial weaponry.
“It's designed to get more fighter planes in the sky in less time and to be ready to incorporate unmanned aircraft into its air wing,” the Associated Press noted at its christening in 2013.
The ship is powered by two state-of-the-art nuclear reactors and can reach a top speed of over 34 miles per hour.
The Ford is currently on its first combat deployment, with about 4,500 crew members on board.

Can you explain the Zone of endless uprising in your Ace combat AU. I just got an idea for what to do with my DAOT scientist character.
Sure I can!
I based the idea off of some cut lines from Ace Combat 7, where in Mission 19 (Lighthouse), there were originally lines implying that the Eruseans were also using AI-controlled drone tanks, which would then start to turn on them and begin attacking everyone, civilians included.
I combined these cut lines with an earlier line about Erusea having a "strategic AI" which made decisions regarding tactical matters (choosing which of the two Arsenal Birds to vector to a given contact area). It made sense to me that if the AI systems of the drone aircraft and tanks could go rogue, so could the "strategic AI". This would then explain how both the drone aircraft AND the drone tanks would turn on the Eruseans.
As for how the AI could have turned on everyone, I basically decided to think how an AI like that might think. A series of steps.
1. Follow orders given by legitimate controlling authority.
2. Defeat hostile forces, as directed by legitimate controlling authority, as per Step 1.
3. If communication with legitimate controlling authority is impaired, continue last orders, as per Steps 1 & 2.
4. If exact composition of hostile forces is unable to be determined, preserve assets/self in order to prosecute Steps 1, 2, & 3.
So the Eruseans were the legitimate controlling authority for much the conflict, the enemy, the IUN (in-game, essentially just Osea). This it has its parameters for Steps 1 & 2.
Then the orbital debris cascade occurs in Mission 15, and communication is impaired. The AI can no longer receive orders, so it defaults to its last legitimate orders ("defeat Osea"/"win the war"; sidenote this why giving broad and vague orders to your military AI is bad). Thus it moves to step 3.
Then, the Erusean civil war begins, and the AI can no longer distinquish between legitimate authority and hostile forces nor recieve legitimate orders (the Radicals may have deliberately reprogrammed the AI, but that seems unlikely based on comments they make in certain missions). So it defaults to step 4, and turns on everyone in an attempt to fulfill the previous steps.
In keeping with the theme naming of Huginn and Muninn, I gave the other "aspects" of the AIs their own Norse mythology style names. iirc, I assigned it like this:
Odin - the name assumed by the strategic AI.
Sleipnir - the AI controlling a force of drone bombers (which Erusea was implied to already possess by the late stages of the game).
Geri - drone controlled naval vessels (not something directly supported by any evidence, but given Erusea's reliance on drones for their Air Forces and at least part of their ground forces, the idea that their navy would see the benefit of unmanned naval vessels makes sense. they probably would have been smaller gunboats and corvettes rather than anything overly large, considering that fully automating, say, a destroyer (especially one originally designed for a human crew) would be exceedingly difficult.
Freki - the aforementioned drone tanks.
As for Huginn and Muninn surrendering, that's an idea I yoinked from a SpaceBattles thread. It's clear from the Ravens behavior in Mission 20 that they are able to communicate, form plans, and such. Thus, them essentially being sapient isn't too far of a leap. My thought is that, being the most advanced versions of the AI, they could potentially have been sapient well before the AI in general turned on the Eruseans. We know Schroeder worked on the ADFX-10 (as well as Yoko Martha Inoue and Simon Cohen, from Ace Combat 3), based on a piece of official art from Project Aces. That plane was the prototype of the ADF-11F that Huginn and Muninn use as bodies. Some cut lines/fan lore (can't remember which) gives that original ADFX-10 the codename "Hempel" - a reference to Hempel's paradox (aka the raven paradox), which is all about inductive logic and intuition. That aircraft is also clearly a drone, just not as refined.
If Schroeder knew Huginn and Muninn (and perhaps Hempel as well) were sapient, he may have treated them as people (considering how he speaks of the AI in general, I don't think it's too much of a leap). Part of this would be to treat them essentially as children, which essentially they were. And to them, Schroeder would essentially be their father.
So my thought is, Huginn and Muninn, doing an analysis of all the forces arrayed against them (including virtually every AC/PW protagonist and their squadrons), decided that "nah, we'd rather be alive, thanks", and turned on their fellow AI drones, before beginning to play/"sing" a Belkan lullaby over the radio - one which Schroeder may have exposed them to (either unintentionally or intentionally). Thus signalling to Schroeder that they're fully sapient (which he may not have FULLY realized before).
