I like Love's mum. Love's mum makes sense. I said this before, Love's showing of her love (heh!) is selfish, almost bordering on stalker behaviour.

She's also quite immature if she thinks that all Rain needs to do is to unquestioningly accept whatever feelings she has at the moment. Rain is right — feelings do change, whether you intended it in the beginning or not. So, Love promising love and happiness to Rain for all their lives if ever Rain chooses to be with her is every bit naive.

Chapter 6

A/N: Well goddamn, I've been a ghost. But I've had this chapter written and didn't even know it. Good news? This adds a chapter for my folks who want this to go on forever. Bad news? You have to wait longer for me to write the damn thing. Sorry I'm a basket case, y'all.

“Get me a plane.”

Somewhere around 4am, Elvis gets tired of waiting for his men to find him a plane and a pilot. Every moment that passes is another minute that separates him from you and the baby. He knows he can't go to you in Vegas. Carl is still too much of a threat. The last thing he wants is to put you in harm's way by revealing the truth to your husband. He'll have to intercept you in Los Angeles and pray he gets there before the unthinkable happens. At 4:07am, he snatches a pair of keys and heads to the parking garage. Jerry and Red and Sonny follow close behind him, arguing and yelling.

“EP, you can't do this. You're not driving to Los Angeles on no sleep!” It's Sonny who tries first. Elvis rounds on him, his eyes wild and red-rimmed.

“You want me to sleep?! No. Fuck that.” He shakes his head and runs his hand through his hair. “I have to get to her before… I can't wait for a plane.”

“Then let me drive.” Jerry comes in with a more reasonable offer. Elvis looks at him for a second, considering. Then he shakes his head again.

“I need you here, man. If Carl realizes she's gone, I need you to make sure he doesn't come after her.” He swings the door of one of his Cadillacs open and slides into the driver's seat. “I'm goin’. Move.”

All three men hesitantly shift out of the way. They know better than to challenge him when he gets like this, and he's even more determined than they've ever seen him. He screeches out of the parking lot, headlights cutting bright paths in the darkness.

You sit on the plane, your knee bouncing as you nibble on your cuticle. Why won't this damn thing just take off already? Every second that passes is another second where you think about Elvis and what you're about to do. You don't want to do it. You'd give anything to be able to keep the child of the man you love. But he's Elvis Presley and a bastard child might be the end of everything he's worked for. Still, a picture of you and Elvis and your child in front of the fire on Christmas morning enters your mind and a tear makes its way down your cheek. You can't think about this. Not right now.

Elvis arrives in LA around 8:30 am and goes straight to the first abortion clinic he can find. He pulls on the door before it's even unlocked and then walks to the curb to wait for someone to open it. As he sits, he pulls a worn Polaroid from his pocket. He's brought it to show people, praying that'll help him find you. But he takes a moment in the cold gray light of the Los Angeles morning to really look at the photo.

He's instantly transported back to that night. You'd just spent the last couple of hours making love and you'd wrapped yourself in one of his shirts while he was in the bathroom. When he came out, the image of you on the bed, your hair messy and your cheeks flushed, had taken his breath away. He'd grabbed his camera, still naked himself, and started snapping photos. At first you protested. “No! Baby, I look awful!”

But he just shook his head and looked at you reverently. “You look like heaven, honey.”

He'd snapped a picture just after he'd said it, your smile warm and natural and full of love for him.

That's the photo he has with him now. The corners are worn and it's crumpled a little from being in his pocket. In the time since it was taken, he's held it more times than he can count. Held it, cried over it, prayed over it, kissed it and stroked it and begged it to be you in the flesh. He's holding the photo to his forehead and praying again when he hears the door open behind him.

“Can I help you, sir?” He jumps to his feet and the nurse gasps. “You're–”

“No. I'm not. Not today. Can you tell me if you have an appointment booked for someone?” He runs his hand through his hair again and the nurse whimpers.

“I-I really can't…” He watches her hesitation and smiles softly. He'd usually never use his looks to get what he wants, but right now, in this moment, he'll do just about anything to get to you.

“Aw, come on, honey. Can't ya help me out?” He does his best puppy dog eyes and she bites her bottom lip.

“Alright, fine. Come in. But don't tell anyone I did this for you.” He smirks.

“As long as you don't tell anyone I was here.” He follows her into the clinic to the appointment book, giving her your name. But you're not listed as having an appointment today. He drops into a chair and runs his hand over his face.

“There are other locations. She might be at one of those.” She speaks softly, sensing how upset he is. He stands up excitedly.

“Can you write down the addresses?” She nods and takes out a piece of paper to record the locations of the other clinics. In exchange, he signs a piece of paper for her and thanks her for her help, making his way out of the clinic.

There are three addresses on the paper he clutches in his hand. He looks at your photo again and prays.

“Please, God, let me find her in time.”

He pulls up in front of the last clinic at almost 11am. His hope is running dry and he's starting to think this was a fool’s errand. Los Angeles is a big city. You could be anywhere. Still, he's got one more address on his list before he gives up entirely. He takes a deep breath and heads inside. This clinic is in a nicer part of town, so the waiting room is behind a wall and he can't see whether you're there or not. He walks to the front desk, his shoulders slumped, defeated and exhausted. It's been over 24 hours since he's slept and it's starting to show.

“Oh my god, you're–!”

“No, honey, please. I'm beggin’ you. Not today.” She nods slowly, but holds her breath excitedly.

“Can I help you?” She whispers quietly. He sighs and pulls the worn picture from his pocket, sliding it across the reception desk, his hands trembling.

“Any chance this girl is here?” She picks up the photo cautiously, studying it. As she's looking, he hears a nurse on the other side of the wall calling your name. His heart absolutely stops and he snatches the photo, heading for the door to the waiting room.

“No! You can't just–!” But he completely ignores her and pushes the door open.

There you are, standing to go back with the nurse who has called your name. You turn when you hear the noise and then freeze.

“Elvis! What are you doing here?!” It comes out a little louder than you intended it to and he just stands there with his mouth half-open. All the things he'd thought of to say as he drove have suddenly left him.

“I-I didn't want you to be alone.” The weight of what he's said hits you like a ton of bricks. You are alone. Him being here doesn't change that. The annoyance settles between your shoulders and your whole body tenses up.

“Go home, Elvis. You don't belong here.” You look over at the nurse with the clipboard and take a small step towards her. He shakes his head, moving in between you and the door.

“You don't either, doll, but if this is what you want–”

“What I want?! WHAT I WANT?!” You laugh derisively and he's suddenly very glad that the waiting room is empty except for the two of you and the nurses. He moves closer to you, his hand drifting up to touch your cheek, but you scoff and turn away from him.

“Get out of here Elvis and let me do this. I don't have a choice.” You spit the last part at him like it's his fault even though it isn't. He sighs heavily, the defeat of you rejecting him hitting his chest and settling there. But he's not ready to give up yet. Not when he has this much to lose.

“Yes you do.” He takes another step closer. “I'm here, baby. And I'm not goin’ anywhere.”

He watches as your shoulders start to shake with sobs. It's killing him not to take you in his arms and hold you until you both forget about this.

You look up at the ceiling as the tears stream down your face and whisper. “Elvis, you're just making this harder. I'm trying to protect you.”

Now he does touch you. He walks around in front of you and gently grabs your shoulders.

“Honey, I don't need you to protect me. I'm a man. Protection is my job. And I failed. I let Carl hurt you and I'll never forgive myself for it. But this? You don't have to do this. Not for me.” You shake your head, still not ready to give in.

“He’ll kill you–”

“Let him try.” He pulls back and opens his jacket to reveal a shoulder holster with the butts of two guns showing. “I won't let him hurt you again. Not you and not our baby.”

“Our baby?” You say it quietly and for the first time there's the smallest flicker of hope in your voice. You let yourself entertain the possibility that there could be a baby, not just a problem to be solved but a living, breathing child, the product of your love for Elvis. Part you, part him, and fully and completely loved. He can see what you're thinking written all over your face as you look up at him and he decides to take a risk. His hand trembles a little, but he reaches out gently and places it on your stomach.

“Our baby.” You close your eyes and breathe deep. For a minute, your chest is tight as you consider the worst case scenario. And then there it is again. You. Elvis. Your child. And the fireplace crackling next to the Christmas tree as the sound of your laughter fills the room. Your eyes open and you look at the nurse. She gives you a soft smile and then you look down at Elvis's hand on your belly. You put both of your hands on top of his and look up into his blue eyes.

Can you do this? Can you flip your life upside down, start all over, for him? Will he do the same? All of a sudden there's a nagging fear that this whole thing will fall apart the second you're not in your little bubble with him. He's still Elvis Presley. He still has a wife and a career. Where do you fit in with all of that? Even if you can get away from Carl, there's no guarantee this is more than a passing fancy and you won't end up another single woman in Vegas with a baby at home, dancing at the Palomino to make ends meet.

And then you look at him, really look. His hair is everywhere, his clothes are disheveled, his face gaunt. And there's something in his eyes that you've never seen before: fear. He's absolutely terrified of losing you. He drove across the desert on no sleep just to find you and be here with you for this. His hand is shaking where you hold it against your abdomen, but he's not forceful, not coercive, just there. Waiting for you, loving you, being with you through it.

Every ounce of hesitation leaves your body when you stop thinking and just feel him and it becomes obvious that there's only one answer.

“Okay.”

It's a shaky whisper, a single word, barely anything at all. But it's enough for him. In one swift motion, he has you wrapped in his arms, his lips pressed to yours, body trembling and flush against you, and you melt into him, relaxing for the first time in weeks. You had almost forgotten what it was like to feel safe. Here in his arms, though, that's exactly what you are and your body knows it. For several minutes, there's silence as you embrace, his mouth moving against yours gently like he's afraid to break you. He holds you just tight enough, like he's terrified that if he lets go you'll slip away forever. You take a deep shuddering breath as he breaks the kiss, holding your face in his hands, and presses his forehead to yours.

“Let's go home.”

You look down and sigh, your heart aching. What is home?

“I don't have a home.” The words fall from your lips before you can stop them. It's true. You've never been at home in Vegas because of Carl. In fact, you've never been at home anywhere except in Elvis's arms.

He tips your chin up to meet his eyes, red-rimmed, weary with exhaustion, but full of something undeniable.

“Oh, baby. Your home is with me. Wherever we are. That's home.” He doesn't wait for you to answer, doesn't need you to. Instead, he throws his arm around your waist and starts to head for the door, tucking you in next to him, shielding you, keeping you safe and protected like he should have since the beginning. This time, he's not letting you go. Never again.

Before he leaves, though, he turns to the nurses. “I don't like to threaten women, but you all understand why it's important that no one ever knows I was here. If I see a word of this anywhere, I'll know where to find you.”

The two younger nurses nod silently, but the older lady with the clipboard purses her lips. “That's fine. But you be good to her or we’ll know where to find you.”

He smiles and nods. “Yes ma'am.”

The sun is shining when you make it to the car and you notice the shadow on his face where he needs to shave and the redness of his eyes from the lack of sleep. He fumbles with the keys for a bit before you walk around to the driver’s side and take them from him.

“I'll drive.” Normally, he'd never let you, but today he's so mentally, emotionally, and physically drained that he just nods his head and walks to the other side of the car. Once you get settled behind the wheel, he puts his hand on your thigh.

“Thank you, baby.” You pick his hand up and kiss his palm.

“No, Elvis. Thank you.” He strokes your cheek with his thumb. You wonder why he hasn't said anything when you see the tear slide down his cheek. He tries to clear his throat and then in a broken voice, whispers.

“Thought I'd lost you.” You turn on the seat and pull his head onto your shoulder. He wraps his arms around your waist and his whole body breaks down. He can no longer control the emotions that he's been carrying since last night and they pour out of him as he sobs on your shoulder. The depth of his grief, his fear, his desperation become clear to you as he clings to you. And you just hold him there, stroking the back of his head and vowing to never underestimate his love for you ever again.

You stay like this in the parking lot for a while. Eventually, you realize he's quiet and his breathing is even. He's fallen asleep on you, like a child whose body just couldn't take any more. You rearrange him to be laying on the front seat with his head in your lap and thank God that he brought one of his Cadillacs with no center console or steering column in the way. Once you make sure he's as comfortable as he can be, his 6-foot frame shoved into the front seat of a car, you put your foot on the gas and make your way toward the eastbound highway and Vegas.

GL odds and ends 6 October 2024

I haven't been as good at posting about shows as I wanted to be, so I'm trying a round-up format instead because it feels like a lot of GLs skirt under the radar. It's exciting that we're in a time when there's enough GL airing that it's worth doing a round-up! This was a great week for the lesbians to figure themselves out, so it feels like a good week to start. No idea how regularly I'll do this, need to figure out a cadence that makes sense.

Currently airing (with thoughts up to Oct 6):

Reverse 4 U 5/8 (Thai, Tuesdays 1:00 PM EDT, Netflix / YouTube) This week the girls finally sorted themselves and we got set up for the main plot to start next week. I was initially really stoked about this one and then a little bummed that it's not taking it's very cool premise and the stakes it establishes as seriously as it could be, but I'm still hoping it will start to have real stakes in the main plot stretch.

The Two of Us s2 ep 6/6 END (Thai, 29 Aug-3 Oct 2024, YouTube) It was so great seeing women in their 40s being romantic together but I did not love the plot of this one; I find their romantic conflicts too juvenile (lots of easily-triggered jealousy). The moments they're being sweet are great though.

Unlock Your Love ep 4/8 (Thai, Wednesdays, GagaOOLala / YouTube [cut version]) This is the first episode that this series felt a little more assured; I liked the series this production company produced with a short run time, it feels like this series has been worse off for its longer episodes. That being said, when these couples get to do their thing like in this episode, they have good chemistry.

Chaser Game W s2 ep 3/8 (Japanese, Thursdays 12:30 PM EDT, GagaOOLala) @lurkingshan is already doing a great summary of this week to week in her JQL weekly round-up!

Affair the series ep 6/8 (Thai, Fridays 11:15 AM EDT, iQIYI/ YouTube) Finally! I liked that it was Ek pointing out that Wan was unhappy the entire time she was gone that finally got Pleng to give in to her desire to be with Wan. This show is so melodramatic but the emotional threads follow and the character motivations are clear and consistent; I'm enjoying it in spite of not loving melodramatic storylines in general. It helps that the acting in this one is excellent.

The Loyal Pin ep 10/16 (Thai, Sundays 12:15 PM EDT, YouTube) Glad we finally got confirmation of Patt's history! And I'm relieved Anin knows she has an ally, though I feel like it's given her false confidence that worries me. These two are stressing me out by how bad they are at being careful but I do love how desperate they are for each other, as well as how beautiful this show is.

Red Whisper ep 2/8 (Korea, Wednesdays and Sundays, YouTube) Starting with cheating is not my fave but is par for the course with these SukFilm short series; my fave so far has been their first GL so if you haven't seen that yet I'd honestly recommend that instead.

Recent One-offs

Out of Breath (re-release in a bingeable version; Korean, YouTube) Highly recommended! Also the creator, Soo not Sue, announced she's working on another series to hopefully air before the end of the year, which I am super stoked about.

The Suffering of Xiqing Mountain (Chinese (censored), YouTube)

Sastra film app YouTube channel has several short Cambodian GL series that come out weekly Honestly they are not to my taste but I don't like gatekeeping GL especially from smaller markets. I check in on these time to time and if there are any that I think are great I'll give them a shout-out

Recently ended that I haven't had the wherewithal to write about:

Hoshikuzu Telepath (fansub) Thank you to @yuiyuihan for your hard work making it possible to watch this series! I I haven't read the original manga but I do know they changed the kiss communication to a forehead rest; Unsurprised that this adaptation, starring idols in the same group, would be left ambiguous in terms of whether their feelings are friendly or romantic. I liked what this series was trying to say, but in all honestly didn't love the execution. It's too bad because I absolutely love the concept of an alien being helped by girls obsessed with building rockets.

The Secret of Us 8 eps [complete] (24 Jun-15 Aug 2024, YouTube) I first included this in my recommendations from the summer and then retracted, but I ended up liking this series and then never updated again. So to set the record straight: Though it lost me in the middle, the ending on this series won be back over. I really appreciated the way this series handled filial piety and balancing that against personal happiness. I appreciated SO MUCH that the main characters decided together how to handle Lada's situation with her mother. I finally understood too late that Earn believed the lies Lada's mother told her in ep1, and that affected some of their decisions in the middle of the series. I still think the execution was wobbly, but the acting and chemistry between the two leads carries this series through. This has some of the best domestic fluff in any GL, as well as my favourite GL counter lift to date. And it's gorgeous. Tentatively recommended with the caveat that you do have to either enjoy or power through the melodrama in the middle.

Okay now that its not 10 pm for me after a long trip! I've got a few notes on the new magnus protocol ep (29) as a czech person because there are some tidbits in the context that may be good to mention :3c

Spoilers for TMAGP ep 29 below the cut!

First of all, I am super excited abt the rep no matter what. I think the base is actualy pretty solid and i love that they used the locks as a part of it because man thats such a fun aspect of Prague culture to turn into horror.

1. Idk if Andrej was intended to be, but his descriptors + where he appeared STRONGLY remind me of a Vodník, a slavic folk creature usualy taking the form of a man with a pipe in messed up patchy clothes. They are known to manipulate water, drown their victims and then keep their souls inside cups in their underwater lairs. They can also shapeshift into catfish or carps! This overall lines up Strongly with, yknow, the ep where a guy got brutally drowned in Prague.

2. Prague is known for its Alchemy! Which is a strong theme in TMAGP. Rudolph II Habsburg also used to reside here. One of his main alchymists was none other than Edward Kelley (sound familiar? Wink wonk)

3. The Sex Museum is a real place. There is also a waffle shop in Prague that sells waffles shaped like genitalia. Just a funny side note.

4. While I appreciate the attempt from the team to include czech language in the episode. Please please know czech has a completely different structure to english and a lot of the pronounciation was butchered. Mainly the key (lmao) phrase "Odemknout své srdce" is pronounced differently. Also it translates more as "to unlock your heart", the correct phrasing should be "Odemkni své srdce" aka "unlock your heart".

5. "Zamčené muzeum" also doesn’t translate as "The lock museum" but "the locked museum" which could either be a really cool spooky detail that the place isn't meant to be accessed since the statement giver is obviously a person that doesn’t speak czech on a native level or a slip up, "the lock muzeum" would translate as "muzeum zámků"

Either way??? This ep went hard, i am so excited for next week. Its on the train yall.

Episodes Roundup

I needed something to occupy my time, while waiting for the next Agatha dose! So here are the writers credited for writing each of the episodes (mind you, it doesn't mean other writers weren't involved). You can recognise a few names as they also wrote some of Wandavision episodes.

While we can't know the plots yet, I've included the rumours/clues so far, it might help preparing yourself mentally as some of these writers are known for absolutely heart wrenching scenes. The episode fonts are likely clues as well.

Draw your own conclusions, but for me the biggest alarm is the fact that Jac Schaeffer co-wrote Agatha's finale with none other than Laura Donney - who wrote penultimate episode of Wandavision - you know, the one where we learn Agatha's background and where she takes Wanda on the emotional "Road", making her re-live the trauma and heartache. So yeah, be prepared for emotional rollercoaster of a finale!

But she was Jac's assistant on Wandavision and is famously credited for Vision's line "What is grief if not love preserving?")

One of the next three episodes (ep6?) is going to be about the Wizard of Oz, centred around Lilia's tarot trial (Air). Another episode (possibly no.7) is rumored to be Agatha's backstory - so the Spirit trial. And one episode (probably 8, judging from the font) will be Earth trial but seems to be focused on Jen - where they will be in this sterile looking room, like an operating theatre?

Ep.6 Title TBC - Jason Rostovsky (not seen any writing credits, but he was an assistant on quite a few horror movies - e.g. "Ouija: Origins of evil", "The Purge: Election year", "Insidious: Chapter 3". So I'm expecting the episode to be dark)

New Leak: “Lovestruck” Expansion Pack Coming to The Sims 4 in July

Twitter user @Anadius has leaked images and information about The Sims 4 upcoming Lovestruck expansion pack. This is not official information, but this person has leaked other things in the past (like For Rent and all the swatches for the two latest kits, way before they were even announced).

According to the leak, the EP is coming out on July 25th and will be available for pre-order on June 27th. That means we can expect a full official announcement on that day. Spoiler warning: Long rambly notes I took while watching season 3, disclaimer that a lot of this is just character moments/lines I found interesting and initial bones of an au idea for a burgeoning, extremely self indulgent slightly-darker-Alex in season 3 wip I’ve started.

Also it was the middle of the night and I was very tired and wired out of my gourd on some mix of cheap white wine and floods of hyperfixation-sourced dopamine. Also also I only started taking notes at ep 3?

Episode 3

Alex is SUCH a better spy this season than when he began even in the first few episodes prior to SCORPIA training he’s more careful and precise and the team feels better organised - he did so well on that boat I’m so proud of my baby

I’m actually enjoying Tom and Kyra fucking about more than I expected. Tom pulling Kyra together after the boat explosion suprised me by how emotive it was. But I do want them to.. go away. Alex should more isolated/desperate/have NO other choices than SCORPIA.

Everything in Malagosto seems so staged to just see how Alex will react to it all - here’s an unlocked door, here’s an Alex sized vent and a dead spot in the cameras, what are you gonna do about it? +Alex absolutely speaks French I think he’s just not giving that away yet

Oh yes yes lingering bad touch from Julia Rothman hitting the right notes even though that costume is a WILD kaftan moment. Evil carmen sandiago/noir femme fatale aesthetic where are you I miss you so much

God Jones and the department is going THROUGH IT THIS SEASON, just suddenly surrounded by corpses

Julia : offers irrefutable proof, upsets him, then presses him to continue believing what he did before and belittling his objections - very subtle but more firm tone of voice, less motherly/accepting, very clear that the noose around Alex’s neck is always there.

She’s so delighted at the prospect of making Alex into the perfect soldier

You could be too.” Olive branch of intimacy - wants alex to be more like him, so they can be equals, can share this life that he apparently finds satisfaction in, not thinking or making decisions beyond how best to achieve his goal/finish the task(/order)assigned to him/subject himself to feeling emotions/thinking about his life beyond his attempts to depersonalise himself as just a weapon - just a professional with no emotions, and that that is fundamentally who he is. Evidently having some inconvenient feelies about Alex tho.

Oh no his delivery disguise makes him look like a caveman. Glad he took off the accessories for the Jones confrontation, his hair actually looks great there all tousled. (Beginning to realise how important characters hair is to me bc I still hate Julia’s I want some dark perfect waves this Bob is ough)

I’m really glad they settled on Yassen NOT knowing about John - he twists it that John didn’t betray him bc he had nothing to gain from being kind to him, so it wasn’t false, but he is so 100% loyal to John, eager to twist any criticism. I do wish we’d seen more of their relationship, but expecting some Russian roulette bits was overly optimistic

“I know my place” he’s IMMEDIATELY off to rescue his boy (actually, where did he go? All of that last episode I was just WHAT ABOUT YASSEN? Was he just plotting a rescue that didn’t need to happen and waiting for his boy to show up?)

Dare I say… good for blunt? Stephen dillane is just so charming I can’t help but like him. And you see some flashes of his ruthlessness like when he talks to Greif but he’s not a 24/7 conniving monster. Also Jones in charge and Alex possibly (definitely) returning to spy work in a couple of years? I like that. Totally abandoning it would have felt unsatisfying.

Loved that moment on the roof - missed opportunity for them to awkwardly wave at each other, but I’m so happy I predicted wrongly and Yassen gets to live and walk away and put down his weapons. There’s so much space for how they can reconnect in that.

It is such a wild time to be watching QL, there is SO MUCH every day. And a lot of it is really good?!

Today I watched EIGHT different shows, and of them, I was really happy with the episode for all but one. Here are a few words about the ones I had a good time with today:

Addicted Heroin Thailand crossed the first hurdle of adaptation by including the kidnapping scene. Looks like they're continuing to stay true to the source. I appreciated that this scene in particular retained the emotional core while toning down the SA threat (though Hero's desire is still very much present). This is a solid adaptation so far!

Reverse 4 U is using the powers so well, and I am loving the sister relationship, especially how they tease one another around their powers. It's also building to the relationship turn between Four and Wa in a believable way, which I'm really enjoying.

Peaceful Property is delightful and as @lurkingshan already articulated so well, I love what is being set up re: inequality. Plus this show is just so funny! it's balancing these two threads really well and doing a good job maintaining the haunting-of-the-week energy so far.

Love is like a poison had an incredible first episode, I love the effects and cutaways in this show, and the way it is making fun of its protagonist is so much fun. Ryoma is a dork with main character syndrome and I am obsessed with him. Curious how they're going to turn around this setup into a romance!

I Saw You In My Dream was a baller episode, @my-rose-tinted-glasses wrote about how great it is to see a conversation like this between friends as well as between lovers; all of the conversations in this episode were good (between both couples, between the besties, and between the parents). I really appreciate how, as many folks have said, everyone in a relationship in this episode wants to have sex, and the barriers to having sex are real and discussed openly. Big fan of everything in this ep. We've really departed from the dreams, which I think we need to get back to, but this ep was worth the deviation.

The On1y One continues to be incredible; Thank you in particular to Faiza (@usertoxicyaoi) who has been giffing like mad to capture every important conversation in this episode which was so many of them. The one about moving to the dorms together made me misty fr. I love when youths who did not get a chance to have a childhood get to blow bubbles.

Unlock Your Love also started today, I really enjoyed the very pulpy and trope-filled previous show this team put together (Lucky My Love) so I've been excited for this. We have a workplace GL filled with canon bisexuals, a grumpy/sunshine dynamic with a history from college, and a playgirl. I'm so seated.

I don't usually do a roundup post like this but it just hit me how much good television I got to watch today, and how rare it is that I have this good a time with almost everything I'm watching, and I needed to capture the moment.

Tomorrow, all 6 episodes of A Time of Fever drop on iQIYI, as well as How to Make a Million Before Grandma Dies on Netflix, and that's in addition to the episodes of The Onl1y one, The Two of Us, Monster Next Door, Twilight Out of Focus, and probably Seoul Blues that will be dropping too.

I'm really having trouble keeping up with everything airing, everything I want to write about it, and everything being said about the shows on tumblr. It's the best possible problem to have!

Dune: Part Two (2024) Every piece of technology felt and looked so tangible. The baby worm too! Love the tactile nature of this whole production and I hope studios take note that CG can't be the only tool in your belt. So much bigger than I imagined and just enjoyed the whole thing.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008) Ages surprisingly well and a script that lets the main quartet be both funny and layered.

……….TELEVISION……….

Columbo (1.01 to 1.03) Hey I'm starting Columbo! Love that each episode is feature-length and Columbo appears fully formed right out of the gate. The sets and costumes are all so glamorous and L.A. Very excited to keep going.

Succession (2.05 to 3.04) The Kendall play at the end of season 2 felt very much like the Kendall play at the end of season 1 and while I'm still a huge fan of this series, I just hope it's not the same going into season 3 and 4.

Delicious in Dungeon (Episode 1.09 to 1.13) Great adaptation that isn't just a straight recreation of the artwork in the manga. The more kinetic/frantic moments in the animation are a nice departure and while they don't pop up in each episode, now that I'm 13 eps deep I can appreciate how they're sprinkled throughout.

Love is Blind (Episode 6.02 to 6.13) It still amazes me that anyone goes on reality tv.

Saltburn: The Tumblr-ification of Cinema by Broey Deschanel Every since I saw Saltburn, I've been thinking about what wasn't quite sitting right with me. This unlocked a lot of what I couldn't describe and most of it stems from the writer/director's upper class upbringing. Saltburn isn't a "take down the rich" movie, it's a horror story from the perspective of a wealthy family. VIDEO

Elric of Melniboné by Michael Moorcock (Complete) After picking up the last book in this series (which I've yet to read) I figured I'd start at the beginning. Love the fast pace pulpy action and I can see how this influenced the creation of D&D.

The Man in the Brown Suit by Agatha Christie (Complete) This one would lose me for stretches but the final quarter of the book is stronger. A lot less cozy and a lot more action than I was expecting but skimming other reviews it sounds like this was written during her more...adventure-focused era. Three books deep and I have to give Christie credit that each has been a completely different experience.

Adventures of a Japanese Business Man by Jose Domingo (Complete) Always love going back to this nearly wordless epic that follows the titular Japanese business man. I love the complexity of the earliest panels and wish that could carry throughout more of the book, but it's always such a treat to discover just where each new panel will go.

Delicious in Dungeon Volume 5 by Ryoko Kui (Complete) Enjoying rereading this with shorter breaks between volumes as I certainly missed/forgot details on my first read. It's here that the story and tone shifts from light romp to a more dramatic and dangerous affair but it never loses its spot-on humour. Love those dryad pumpkins.

Ultimate Spider-Man HC Volume 11 by Brian Michael Bendis, Stuart Immonen, David Lafuente, and more (Complete) Going from some of my other comics back to this, I'm struck by just how wordy it can get. Now knowing where the story goes, it was a great idea to prime readers to the idea of Peter Parker dying even if it's not from this event.

Blank Check with Griffin & David (Podcast) Late to the game on this but really enjoying burning through their back catalog. Obviously started with their episode on Speed Racer as it's a near perfect film that you should watch right now.

Oz: A Fantasy Role-Playing Setting (Andrews McMeel Publishing) The Tuesday group just killed a mayor! So the aftermath of that is going to play out over the next couple of sessions. And the Mof1 crew is investigating the aftermath of their own district-wide catastrophe and it's all looking rather suspicious!

Spot It (Blue Orange Games) I can't recommend this game enough. It's so easy to learn, rounds last maybe 5 minutes, it plays well with small or large groups of any age, and all it requires is pattern recognition and quick reflexes. Every time I've played this someone says they're going to buy a copy for themselves.

Love's mom is still the VIP of the show. I really like her. It is so nice to have a maternal figure in one of these Thai GL that is actually nice and caring and supportive. Is so fresh because I think it has been the only one so far. I doubt it but I hope we get to see her talking with Rain when Rain and Love get together.

When the story takes it's time to explain the reasons why Rain is how she is; we can understand her even if she is saying not to Love at the moment. Her reasons are valid and we can see why she would act the way she is and is feeling so less about herself.

Sadly, the show didn't do the same with Deane; and Pat has so much charm so in the side couple there understanding of both sides doesn't come as easy. I hope next episodes help with that.

Weirdly enough, this episode made me like more the main couple than the side one; which is not really normal for me in this shows.

The take Love did with her attempts to win Rain was pretty nice and funny. I do love Love but this was nice.

I don't know; the show has the soul, and there's a lot of good things but somehow every episode it feels like is lacking of something. I wish I understand what because Like I said; I do see something in here to like(like the scene in the bike in one of the previous episodes where Rain was crying and Love stay there and let her cry in silence. That was pretty good).

The bread ad at the end made me chuckle. Besides Love Senior I don't think I have seen something like that???
