with the cold weather around this time of the year it made sleeping outside almost impossible if you didn't want to wake up to tiny icicles dangling from your eyelashes and frost coating your eyebrows. even sasuke understood that, so they wandered around a small village until they came across a rather snug-looking inn, one that had been decorated for the holidays. it made the vibe of the place all the more enjoyable, and mitsuri didn't even need to ask sasuke if this one was good enough, he was already wandering inside without her.

quickly, so she's not left behind, the dual-haired woman follows after her husband, coming to his side as they stand in a queue together, waiting to inquire about a potential room. inside is adorable too, it seems like families have come together, couples, even younger shinobi on missions appear to be lingering, and it warms mitsuri's heart as the queue moves along.

just as their second in line, the pinkette is excited to get the room key and heat up in a nice, warm room. so much so she doesn't notice the dangling plant above her, which would have been obvious if she was looking. but she wasn't, instead, she was watching a trio of young shinobi mess around in the lobby, seemingly just enjoying their time off.

it's not until she feels a tap on her shoulder that her mind is reeled back and she turns towards sasuke, blinking once before humming in question. she awaits some kind of verbal answer, but all he does is gesture above them, and it takes her a few moments to understand what he is doing. finally, as her gaze travels up, she spots the mistletoe and gawks in awe for a second. then a smile curls onto her lips. ignoring the call of the women of the inn, signalling that it was their turn in the queue, mitsuri leans up on her toes and briefly connects their lips, pulling away only when she hears a wolf whistle somewhere behind them both. proud of herself, she intertwines their fingers and tugs him up to the reception.

but fr outside of my contracted madness i absolutely refuse to give joe alwyn gold rush like how is that song at all related to their relationship the lyrics clearly spell out a relationship that either never existed or only existed in implication and fantasies and maybe-maybe nots and its so bitter and yet desperately soft in the bridge where it almost projects a sense of envy, of wanting to be them as much as you want them. It continues an interesting oft ignored lyrical trend of taylor wanting just as much to be her lover as to have them, envying their easy charisma (you were flush with the currency of cool/i was always turning out my pockets) or quiet dignity (your integrity makes me seem small) dating back to her earliest songs (the kind of flawless i wish i could be). Theres a projected self hatred and yearning to be better that twists itself into both romantic and sexual lust for her partners thats so fascinating and speaks to how all of her songs regardless of who theyre about are also an act of self reflection on who she is and who she wishes to be.

i hate the fact the term karen went from describing a bitchy entitled customer to basically the modern day equivalent of calling a woman a harpy (misogynistic as fuck) and that people use the term on people out in public who are at the end of their rope emotionally from stress or a shitty day. I get it just because your having a rough time doesn't mean you get to be a dick but sometimes I think people are seriously lacking in empathy and I get it a lot shit the customer might be dealing with isn't your responsibility but like if a customer is struggling with something simple maybe don't be a dick? Just a thought.

sometimes its a case of forgetting or not utilizing them well (i.e. florist being totally absent in y6 in my. HUMBLEST of opinions) but other times it's just that the character has no purpose in current plot or the franchise anymore and there isn't any other reason to try to fit them in the setting
