Wait a minute, Bobby's middle name is Jeffrey...is he named after Boomhauer?? Boomhauer's first name is Jeffrey and Hank says that Boomhauer has known Peggy longer than Hank has, so it would make sense if both of them have a strong relationship with him they'd want to give his name to Bobby

Hamilton John Doe (2007)
Tumblr media
January 09, 2023
On April 7, 2007, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, the skull of an unidentified man was noticed by some neighbours at the end of their driveway. At first, one neighbour believed the skull was an animals. Not thinking anything of it, another neighbour kicked the skull across the road where it went into a ditch.
On April 9, 2007, at 6:30 pm, a Glanbrook resident was walking their dog on Glancaster Road when they saw an object in the ditch just off the west side of the road. The individual looked closer and saw what appeared to look like a human skull. A forensic anthropologist was eventually called who came to help identify the skull.
On April 18, around 10am, the Hamilton Police searched the area for any clues that could be related to the skull found, calling on the Ground Search and Rescue Team as well as cadaver dogs and volunteers in the community.
One hour into the search, cadaver dogs found additional human remains near the intersection of Glancaster Road and Fiddlers Green Road in a forested area in the community of Mount Hope.
An autopsy revealed that the additional remains belonged to the skull that was first found. The date of death was estimated to be the Summer of Fall of 2006. However, it is possible the death occurred as early as Fall of 2005 or Spring of 2006. Foul play was not suspected.
DNA was extracted from the femur of the remains however police have been unable to match this individual to similar missing persons cases.
Hamilton John Doe has been described as having grey/white hair, 2-3 inches in length, likely wearing an upper full denture and possibly a lower partial denture. The man’s teeth were poorly cared for and he had no upper teeth, likely for many years before his death as the sockets had been healed.
Hamilton John Doe had 6 teeth present, one canine and two premolar teeth on each side of the lower jaw. He had a chronic abscess on both the right and left teeth, no fillings and had untreated cavities.
The John Doe had blue denim “Wrangler” brand jeans that were a size 34x34, a “Fitrite” brand shirt in a size large, blue denim “Kinswood” brand, long-sleeved button down shirt, size large, a black belt, white “Fruit of the Loom” brand underwear, white left running shoe in a size 9 and a half, a blue face “U.S. Army” brand wristwatch that was silver, water resistant worn on his left wrist.
He also had a silver folding knife in a black sheath attached to the belt, with a 7.6 cm blade, and a stainless steel, black handle. The wristwatch has been available since 2003 and is believed to have cost between $300-$450 at the time.
The man also had a “Bic” brand lighter, chrome “Zebra” brand pen, “Trim” brand nail clippers, a pack of chewing gum, and $12.99, with one discoloured coin of unknown denomination.
Hamilton John Doe is a white male estimated to be between 40-65 years old at the time of his death, but likely 50-65 years old, between 5′6-6′ feet tall with other sources saying between 5′7-6′1 feet tall, and his cause of death is currently unknown.
If you recognize this man or are from or know anyone who lived in the area of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada in 2006/2007 who might’ve known Hamilton John Doe, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (1-800-222-8477), you can stay anonymous.

New Scotland Yard: Hard Contract (1.5, LWT, 1972)
"I was just wondering what it was like to kill somebody."
"Well, that's a nice thought to start the day, innit?"
"In all my stint in the army, I never did. Not like -"
"Not like me."
"Yeah, well, you bagged a few terrorists in your time, didn't you? I was just wondering..."
"What it was like?"
"Yeah."
"Well, it... it was like... like nothing. You just sit on a roof and wait. For movement. The sun on a rifle. Just a flash, a glint. The first bullet gets you - or gets them, it's as simple as that."
"No involvement?"
"None."

Ep 289: The Body on the Moor Part 1
"To that Providence, my sons, I hereby commend you, and I counsel you by way of caution to forbear from crossing the moor in those dark hours when the powers of evil are exalted."  -- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Description:
On Friday, December 11, 2015, at 9:04 a.m., a man started a train journey at Ealing Broadway Station in west London, England. At 9:50 a.m., he arrived at Euston station to book an over two-hour trip to Manchester. The next day, at 10:47 a.m., his body was discovered by a cyclist close to the Chew Track near Saddleworth Moor in the Peak District National Park. The man was 6 feet 1 inch tall, white, of slim build, and had receding grey hair and blue eyes and determined to be between 60 and 70 years of age. However, this description was the only identifying factor initially discovered about him. He had no ID, wallet, phone, or keys, nothing to tell who this man was. He was dressed nicely but inappropriately for a hike in such inclement weather. The only item found on his person was a container of Pakistani origin labeled for thyroid medication but which now contained strychnine. This was the poison that led to his death. The cyclist also found the man in an odd position; his arms crossed over his chest and next to the trail as if peacefully napping. This was another puzzling clue, as victims of strychnine poisoning are usually writhing in agony before their horrible demise. The pathology technicians who examined the body gave the unfortunate stranger the name of "Neil Dovestone" after the Dovestone reservoir near his resting place. So, who was Neil Dovestone, and why did he travel such a long distance to this specific spot for a careless hike, or was it for a darker purpose? Who removed his identifying items, and did he take his own life or fall victim to murder? Join us for part one of our investigation into The Body on the Moor.

From 2001 to 2020, people reported almost 99,000 UAP sightings. A huge percentage of these reports are easily explained. They include drones, satellites, balloons, the planet Venus, vapor from unspent fuel released from a SpaceX rocket,…

Spokane's Missing Persons: Is Robert Thompson the Unidentified Man in Cadillac Apartments
The Man in the Apartment
As firefighters rushed to put out the second blaze at 228 W Sprague Ave that year, 1978, they found a deceased man on the second floor in an abandoned apartment. The first fire was in a restaurant on the main floor. This one had apparently started where the man lay, a lit cigarette most likely catching his sleeping bag on fire after he fell asleep. The medical examiner determined he was 5'6", around 130 pounds. He was missing his teeth and his left index finger. He showed signs of liver disease -- possibly due to alcoholism -- and Osteoarthritis in his lower back. But without fingerprints or dental records to go on his identity could not be verified.
Who is Robert Thompson
Robert Theodore Thompson was born in Bixby, South Dakota in 1932. His family took up residence in Corvallis, Oregon. He moved around a lot, following fairs and circuses and working as a cook. He also was missing his left index finger. According to his daughter, DNA has been submitted to see if there is a match between Robert and the John Doe in the Apartments.
A potential sticking point in the case is the time. Robert went missing in 1974 but, assuming the man in the apartment is indeed a match, he wasn't found until 1978. However, since he was by all accounts transient and without knowing how closely he kept in touch with family, it's not at all outside of reason to assume four years would not have been a long time to go without contact from him. As is repeated over and over again in the unidentified cases that are eventually solved, the family knew the person to be difficult to pin down. They lived in multiple areas, sometimes multiple states. They often led a vagabond lifestyle.
It is also possible the family may have assumed at one point that he wasn't coming home at all. His family grave in Corvallis has his name In Memoriam. Not the action of people who still anticipate the arrival of their brother.
As always, these are difficult cases and my heart goes out to them. I hope the Thompson family gets answers soon, so Robert can get the proper rest he deserves.

UNIDENTIFIED: Hamilton John Doe
Tumblr media
Name: Unknown - classified John Doe
Estimated Age: 50-65 years old
Approximate Height: 5′7 - 6′1
Estimated Date of Death: Fall 2005 - Spring 2006
On the evening of April 7, 2007, a woman in the Mount Hope area of Hamilton, Ontario, noticed an odd looking object and the end of her driveway. She thought it was the skull of an animal, and kicked it out of the way across the road, where it went into the ditch.
A few days later on April 9, 2007, a neighbour discovered the skull in the ditch and contacted police. Initially, police told residents that an animal had possibly dug the skull up from a nearby cemetery. A coroner later ruled this out, determining that the skull didn’t originate from a historical site.
On April 18, 2007, Hamilton Police conducted a search of the area for any clues relating to the skull, utilizing a Search and Rescue team, volunteers from the community, and cadaver dogs. Only one hour into the search, cadaver dogs located additional human remains near where the skull was found in a heavily forested area.
An autopsy confirmed that the remains matched the skull found earlier. The police attempted to match the deceased to missing persons cases, but no positive matches have arisen.
Hamilton John Doe is described to have most likely had grey or white hair, and likely wore a full upper denture and possibly a partial lower denture, as he only had 6 remaining teeth that were in poor condition. He was wearing blue denim Wrangler jeans, a blue denim long-sleeved button-down shirt, a blue and green nylon zippered jacket, size 9 1/2 white running shoe (only on the left foot, right was not found), and also had a U.S Army brand silver watch with a blue face on his left wrist.
Foul play is not suspected.
If you have any information on this case, you can contact OPP Missing Persons and Unidentified Bodies Unit at 1-705-330-4144, or you can contact Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477, or online here: https://www.canadiancrimestoppers.org/tips

understanding "foo fighters"
As someone who is named in a way that dates back to the same base word, the first thing you need to understand is that "foo" is a placeholder word. It's a "thingamajig", a "john doe", a "widget", a "thingy". It means a thing but the thing is not specific.
So, foo is a whatever. Smokey Stover (where "foo" comes from) drives a Foomobile.
Tumblr media
Foo doesn't mean anything. It means foo. This comic is popular in the 30s, and "foo" enters general culture. Then WW2 happens, specifically the air war: Pilots are flying more and faster than ever before, and they see weird stuff. Echoes on the radar, lights that move in the sky, including ones that seemed to follow them, stealthily.
They called them foo fighters. As in, they're fighters, like fighter planes, but the foo type. Not "Allied fighters", not "Nazi fighters" (though sometimes the foo fighters were called "Kraut Fireballs"), not jet flighters... foo fighters. We don't know what these unidentified flying objects are, so they're foo. They're "foo fighters".
They're very definitely NOT fighters against foo. They're not like "firefighters" or "crime fighters". They don't fight foo. They are fighterplanes that are foo.
Also, fun fact: The name "foo fighters" came from the 415th Night Fighter Squadron, who were a US Air Force unit from 1943-1947, in the mediterranean and northern europe. Their radar operator gave them the name, but the name was actually "fucking foo fighters", as in "those fucking foo fighters!". It got cleaned up when the story hit the press, and in the official logs.
But yeah. The band got their name from this WW2 name for a specific category of UFO they were spotting on their missions, but doesn't mean those who fight foo. It means fighterplanes of foo.
