i felt the urge to reread until my feet bleed and my heart aches, and it is as good as i remember but i don’t know if i can finish it because i just want to reach thru the page and grab yuuri and shake him because he’s being soooooooo mean to viktor 😭😭 like ik it’s bc he’s built up viktor in his mind to be someone he’s not i know it’s because he’s dealing with his own feelings of inferiority, but the first time i had read umfbamha i didn’t know just how much viktor was already in love with yuuri i didn’t know just how sensitive he was i didn’t know how much he was hurt by yuuri’s actions. but now i do. and MY heart aches for viktor and lowkey i kinda wanna slap yuuri god boy get your shit together and appreciate the kind and sensitive man that lets you walk all tf over him

I remember reading umfbamha back around 2017 and being stunned by your writing and your characterization of Yuuri while still keeping the essence of who Yuuri is intact. I remember reading the first few chapters of obsabh back when it was in progress and I just finished it this weekend and I just have to say wow. I’m still so stunned by your writing and characterization to this day, now on both perspectives here, keeping your story coherent without missteps and weaving such a lovely story. I just want to thank you for writing the rivals au. Your writing is such an inspiration!

So you know in the yoi fic “until my feet bleed and my heart aches” by Reiya, with the doping scandal and how Yuuri was outed for anxiety in front of pretty much the whole world and Viktor felt like absoulte shit? Well, you know what would have been better? 

If a bunch of different athletes who need to take medication for mental health conditions posted on social medias with “#dopingup” (Phichit probably would have started it) and showing off themselves taking their medication in support of Yuuri. Like, how awesome would that have been for Yuuri? He’s not alone in being an athlete with mental health conditions, he doesn’t have to face any criticism for being one alone. 

And then comes up the issue with how Viktor would have taken the trending hashtag. Obviously he would have been very happy that Yuuri is getting support from other athletes but he proabably would have felt like shit that he isn’t seen as one of the people to give that support. 

Anyways, this has been on my head for a while now and I just needed to vent somewhere. I’m not sure if anyone else has already made a post like this, but please also share your thoughts!

yuuri in Until My Feet Bleed And My Heart Aches be like

Okay so I’ve binged all of the Rivals AU fics by the talented @kazliin​ and am utterly in love with the story/world she’s created (SO MANY FEELS!). Somewhere in the middle I started bookmarking scenes that I wanted to sketch out, and I’ll probably post a few more soon :D (Scenes under the cut)

Chapter 10 scene (AO3 link)

As the story progressed Phichit’s face changed, from surprise to shock and finally to acceptance. There was no judgment there, just a firm fixed gaze that took in every word Yuuri said and processed it without comment.

Finally, Yuuri finished the story, feeling drained. It was the first time he had told someone what had happened out loud and it was exhausting.

“Are you angry with me?” he asked once all his other words were spent, praying the answer was no.

“Of course not Yuuri.” Phichit’s voice was quiet but there was no lie or insincerity in his tone. “I wish you had told me before now but I’m not angry.”

Chapter 12 scene (AO3 link)

“You insulted me and you belittled me. You didn’t believe in me. I worshiped you and you broke my heart.”

It was only after the words came out that he realised that he was almost shouting, the words like glass shards in his throat. Turning back towards Viktor he wiped furiously at his eyes, ashamed at the tears that had formed there because he thought that he had gotten over it, had thought that it was finally gone, that he had finally let it go. But he could never free himself from it, not really. It was too much a part of him now.

Viktor still looked shell-shocked, gazing at Yuuri with eyes wide and mouth hanging open. He looked awful and Yuuri wanted to avert his gaze but found that he couldn’t.

so @kazliin writes this amazing fic called ‘Of Bright Stars and Burning Hearts’ and if you haven’t read it yet i recommend you do because it’s beautiful and the angst gives me life ((seriously, just so much great angst)) i honestly love that fic to death

Concept: OBS Ch. 8 is a bit too painful to sketch, decided to do a more ambiguous piece instead. Happened somewhere before Yuuri realized he loves Viktor and Viktor realized what he called love had been an obsession of the idea of love only. But something between them was growing, Yuuri was able to stand next to Viktor without being enraged and Viktor was barely keeping his infatuation with Yuuri from the whole world.

Umm so I kinda drew a scene from @kazliin ’s Rival series. I imagine Viktor was trying not to cry because he was soooooo touched and overwhelmed with conflicting emotions during “The Borscht Scene”, and at one point he looked sideways to say “Vkussssno” like he couldn’t believe it. And then he would totally miss Yuuri’s lovesick smile sent his way. These two are all about missed opportunities I caaaaan’t aggghhh.

Hi!!! I read along with the updates as you were writing umfbamha and I finally finished reading it a couple years ago and bawled like I invented bawling.

I started rereading it again a couple days ago and my god I hope you’re still writing. The way you write makes it near impossible to stop reading and the story you weave is phenomenal. I finished Yuuri’s pov in a day and a half which has to be a record and I’m gonna start Viktor’s pov again soon.

I just wanna say that this was a genuinely life altering experience the first time I read it and it continues to be. I know this was a million years ago but your writing definitely held up 💖 I owe u my life
