thoughts on taako and/or magnus babysitting merle's kids and the ensuing chaos that may result (passes you the mic)

oh, what a delight... for starters, I think that Mavis thinks the coolest person from the Story is Lucretia, and Mookie thinks the coolest person from the Story is Merle, obviously, but like, really closely followed by Lup. the second this becomes apparent to Taako and/or Magnus, they immediately dive into Win the Hero Worship of These Small Children mode. they're on that Cool Uncle Grind.

Taako tries to instill a love of cooking in these children, because Jeffandrew knows their father won't (Merle is actually a good enough cook to like, meet the most basic of dietary needs, but Taako's standards are orders of magnitude higher than that), but the furthest Taako gets with the kids is getting Mookie to watch hot dogs blowing up in the fantasy microwave.

Magnus takes them on a field trip to dog school. Taako takes them on a field trip to Taako's Amazing School of Magic, 'cause you've gotta start making an impression early or else they'll go to the competition, like Angus. Taako and Magnus both have big dreams of their respective field trips being interrupted by dastardly evildoers and powerful enemies, allowing them opportunities to save the day and prove to the children how badass they are — but were this a fic, there would be a running gag about Lup having brought Merle along for a Reaper mission where they keep almost crossing paths with their family, and thwarting necromancer's schemes just slightly out of view of Magnus and Taako before a real threat can present itself.

but don't worry, Merle is also constantly bemoaning that he can never succeed at anything cool or even uncharacteristically competent when any of his kids (whether big kids or little kids) are around to see him. they still love him though (even if the way Mavis finally opens up to Magnus and Taako is by discovering a shared love of roasting their father)

For the ask game, Jason/Tim where the Pit makes Jason possessive rather than mad and so he imprints on Tim as being his and needing to take him and make him fully his, turn Tim into Jason's own creature? I think that could be a cool idea, since the Pit has different effects on different people.

oooh, i love explorations of what the Pit does to the psyche, especially if it falls outside of the typical Pit Madness schtick. here's how i would try and write that

so what i think is fun about Jason and the Pit is, he wasn't *dead* when he got dunked, he was just mentally catatonic. dunking him in the Pit was a gamble on Talia's part and Ra's even points out in Red Hood: Lost Days it may not work. so to have it work but just... wire Jason *differently* is a lot of fun to me. i like the idea of Jason being a bit aimless after the Pit. he's got his wits to him but it's still the "came back wrong" vibes. and when Talia shows him the pictures of Tim as Robin, trying to show him that Bruce replaced him, it has the opposite effect. Jason's wires are crossed in all sorts of directions and all he can think of is he won't let what happened to him happen to another kid. so he spirals, looking into Tim and getting more and more obsessed. what starts as a genuine concern for Tim's safety becomes a possessive imprinting. Tim becoming Jason's purpose.

one of the defining things about Jason's feelings on Tim, in canon, is feeling like Tim is being held back by his loyalty to Bruce. so, i don't know how literal you meant creature, but i'm taking it balls to the walls bc i like fucked up monster vibes. the *how* is the fun part of it. it's easy for Jason to corner Tim, kidnap him. but how does Jason decide to corrupt Tim? i know the Court of Owls is a New-52 thing and i'm going off of pre-Flashpointt, but, i think it'd be fun to steal it. just because well. i really fucking like Talons. and Jason making Tim a Talon would be a twofold thing- for one, it protects Tim. it's a lot harder to kill a Talon than a person. and for two, it makes Tim easier to control. i think Tim would fight it hard, but the Talon programming combined with Jason's fierce protectiveness would snap him pretty easily.

Jason would be smart about it. he'd keep Tim locked up for at least a few months. because if Robin goes missing, then the calvary is going to start looking for him. Batman, Nightwing, Batgirl, Oracle, Huntress, the Titans, everyone. and Jason knows even if he puts a mask on Tim, he needs to wait. needs to let the smoke blow over. so for months, it's just Jason and Tim somewhere underground where no one can find them. that's where the bulk of their bonding comes in. because i do think Jason would want Tim to *genuinely* like him outside of just monsterous programming. Jason would work to earn that trust, even if it's through manipulation. tbh i think he'd lie to Tim, either gaslighting Tim about his loved ones not looking for him, or straight up tell Tim he's imagining having been Robin. anything that deconstructs Tim's idea of a support system outside of Jason. Jason is Tim's savior, in his eyes, and he'd want Tim to believe that too. that Jason had to protect Tim, from the Bat. very fucked up vibes.

once Jason's sure it's safe, he'd slowly start making his presence known as Red Hood, with Tim by his side. Jason would still want to do the whole Red Hood thing, but now, he has the ability to taunt Bruce about Tim. it'd be a fun mind game for Jason, telling Bruce that he lost *another* Robin. (three, if you count Steph) meanwhile, Jason gets to go home to Tim the whole time. it's a fun game to him, while also making him preen that he's protecting what he believes belongs to him.

eventually, the truth would come out. but by then, Tim's too deep in Jason's pocket to listen to anyone, even Dick. he'd lash out at anyone claiming Jason is manipulating him, and he'd be Jason's perfect little partner. very fucked up ending where Jason and Tim are "happy" together, but in the most fucked up way. i'd give Tim a new codename, something like Shrike because that sounds fun and pointy. they'd almost be a Batman and Robin parallel/foil, in a way.

also, just as a bonus alternative: another route i think you could take this idea is playing with Joker Junior. like, Jason imprinting on Tim *just* as Joker kidnaps Tim. so that's what sets Jason's plans into action, he was going to wait for the perfect moment but now, Tim is missing and Jason will be *damned* if someone gets to Tim first. and since Jason has well. firsthand experience with the Joker, he's able to find Tim first and since Tim is so mentally shattered at this point, it makes him easy to manipulate. easy to get him to traumabond onto the person who saved him and even once he's mentally recovered, he's so attached to Jason he wouldn't want to leave Jason. and maybe Jason would use Lazarus Resin or something similar to make Tim more creature-like, and even get Tim to agree to it, under the guise of it helping protect Tim. this route could be fun bc it plays more with just how "consensual" it is for Tim and how much he really has his wits about him, choosing Jason after being brainwashed.

this is by no means an exhaustive list but definitely the moments i think of most often ^_^

i loooveee. this part. they’re rlly fun to look at in general in this arc but this bit in particular has always stood out to me? their eye shadow for sure has glitter in it (detail i decided on when i was like 13 that i still stand by). it’s just silly. they’re irritated.

and then i really love all the live shows. i think that’s like,, Peak Unfiltered Sam. this goes for every other character as well but i really like hearing from them directly as opposed to through cecil. also their VA is just fucking awesome. LOVE her. my favoriteeee live show with them rn is the haunting of night vale? but it changes occasionally.

in that same vein, their bit in episode 88! i see people say often that wtnv drops off in year four, but actually this episode is when it gets good. the song choice. they have a caffeine headache and they don’t even drink caffeine. EYE think that they just like to drink tea and don’t realize that it has caffeine in it. they’re pretty upset about it though.

also rlly rlly love this part from 228! it makes me sad that this is one of the last time they’re mentioned in this arc because i find the VERY sudden malice between them and janet really fascinating? and this is like a really big turning point. REALLY wish they were even hinted at in 230. miss them.

and i know a lot of people don’t like the frank chen arc? but EYE do. they have a lot of rlly great moments in that one. like they literally necromance someone. come on.

What doesn't he excitedly tell everyone.. Something he's particularly eager to announce is when the troupe has arrived at a new town, Vitor is so so so excited and will make sure EVERYONE knows. He's inherently a bit of a thrill seeker now and gets hyped to tell the others about something exciting happening in town. or the fun that could happen on a new adventure, ect ect.

31.When do they feel the most guilt? How do they respond to it?

This ones honestly hard! But I think he'd feel the most guilt when accidentally harming someone he was trying help. He'd feel downright awful to hurt a friend he was trying to cheer up! Vitor would scramble to try and make it better, apologizing or trying a new way to make whoever feel okay. Which could just overwhelm and make the feeling worse, but he's trying, you know?

50.What belief / moral / personality trait do they stand by that you (mun) personally don’t agree with?

Sam, unfortunately believes that certain systems aren't inherently corrupt, it's just that there's bad actors who abuse it. And if they just removed those people everything would run smoothly. But TBH. I disagree with their everything, they're just, they're kind, they'll throw themself in the face of danger to protect others, but their self sacrificial concept is ungodly toxic! Never trust a paladin to be normal!

56.If they’re scared, who do they want comfort from? Does this answer change depending on the type of fear?

They.. do not like showing fear. As a knight to show fear is to cast doubt on those who believe in you, depend on you, look to you for protection, you can't give them a reason to be afraid too. However, Sam does tend to seek comfort from positions of higher authority. In a backwards attempt at seeking comfort after being defeated for the first time in their current party, they asked their leader (Claude) if they would be kicked out for being weak. They also use prayer as a form of comfort, there is no fear with their goddess to guide them.

15.What’s the most obvious difference between their behavior at home, at work, at school, with friends, and when they’re alone?

This is really tragic but I think Sam just looks very forlorn when alone. They just.. carry themself differently. Everyone respects them as a strong unwavering figure but they're kind of mopey when left to themself compared to their headstrong and introspective presentation as a knight. They're not like.. faking it persay? But there's a different vibe.

4.What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?

They miss sparring with the other knights in training at their old guild. They know if they were to battle old friends again, it wouldn't be for fun this time around.

17.What do they notice first in the mirror versus what most people first notice looking at them?

Uri tends to notice any physical changes w/their body right off the bat when looking in the mirror, they're very aware of their form, so they tend to pay attention to necrotic developments w/their freak body (Thrilling for them.) And most people tend to notice their height (or lack thereof) first.

21.What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it?

Handshakes and not kicking up your boots on the table. Handshakes feel like they're a competition to whoever got the strongest grip, n it feels like a formality only used by people trying to not rip each others throats out. They follow it though.. out of respect (sometimes.) They're gross with the boots thing but a cowpoke don't care. Look at their shiny spurs.

Worst gift to their sensibilities? Christmas Day. 1922. Received a gift by the one and only Victor "Charlie" Shelley. It was the mascots, Titled Mister Georgie, suit for the underdog baseball team Underdark Spiders

More of a positive misinterpretation, bc of Uri's cowboy life, they follow the code of payback. If you scratch their back, they'll scratch yours. People don't do favors often in the underdark, and when they do, you don't want to be in debt to em. So They don't take kindness for granted or understand people being nice for the sake of being nice. It takes them awhile to understand. That people do favors without wanting things in return! It makes them feel very odd when realizing, but it's nice, isn't it? To be able to expend energy without cost?

46.Are they a listener or a talker? If they’re a listener, what makes them talk? If they’re a talker, what makes them listen?

Sammy is definitely more of a listener, while they'll insert their opinion when they feel necessary, outside of life or death discussions they tend to be more quiet n prefer listening to their friends talk. A pretty easy way to get them to talk though is asking about, well, morals, even if they don't know whats wrong from right anymore it is something they think about a lot. And even when she is asleep, it's a very superficial sleep most of the time, so she quickly wakes up if something happens. On the other side, there's me... who falls asleep in a matter of seconds.

And it's not like she enjoys seeing me anxious or scared, but at the same time she's grateful to be the one who gets to hold me and comfort me even for something as silly as that.

okay hear me out modern au where Tommy and Maria first meet in a club in their 20s and they bump into each other while dancing and just start dancing together and they just hit it off but in the end they both forget to give each other their numbers so both of them go back to the same club the next week to hopefully meet each other again (also Tess and Maria definitely go clubbing together because I love them as best friends)

im thinking the first time, tess drags maria to a bar she likes because she’s been trying to get the attention of this hot dilfy guy at the bar, but he’s always tailing along with his friend. by tess’s design, maria and tommy meet and and hit it off and dance (to maria maria by santana) the night away. they fall in love and decide they want to go home together, so maria goes to the bathroom—but joel randomly comes up and is like “tommy, hey sorry selena’s mom called, sarah had a nightmare and she wants us both to pick her up, we gotta go” and in true miller dad-uncle panic they BOLT. by the time maria comes back, tess is like “idk dude, mine got a call so they had to go. seemed like an emergency. bummer” and they assume thats that

on the flip side: everythings okay with sarah, but after tommy and joel tuck her in tommy’s suddenly just like “fuck—fuck!!!!!” and joels like “what? what???” and he’s like “i didn’t get her number :(:(:(:( fuck” and so joel’s like “it’s okay, i see her friend there all the time” and so tommy’s like “omg :D do you have her friends number?” “well… no” “joel… what the fuck man.” so they make a plan to go back next week with the hopes of at least seeing tess and getting maria’s number from there—tommy also wants to get tess’s number for joel, but he doesn’t need to know that

little do THEY know, tess and maria are already plotting for next weekend. they show up to that bar looking fine as FUCK—they quite literally turn heads walking through the door. of course the miller brothers are there, sitting in a booth all the way in the back and waiting, making eyes. tess and maria are not shy, so they start making their way over. unfortunately, some drunk asshole decides to try to get handsy with tess on her way there—which results in her punching him in the face, which results in him trying to punch her in the face. she dodges, of course, but it starts a full-on bar brawl that the miller boys jump into without hesitation (joel manages to tackle and land a few good ones on og drunk asshole too so. slay.). none of them get arrested or anything, but they definitely don’t get eachother numbers on account of joel and tommy having to duck the cops

OF COURSE i've been thinking about it since i saw the trailer and now it's a little brainworm. (disclaimer i've not watched the first two episodes yet, this is like. solely on the vibes of the trailer. some details might change once i. watch the show depending on if i follow it or just go with the vibes the trailer gave me. which also means there will be no spoilers for the show if you care about that.)

the current idea involves Detective!Tim, Nun!Steph, and Priest!Jason. the vague idea for the plot so far is that a serial killer leaves a *very* artful display of a crime scene inside of the church that Jason and Steph operate out of. Tim is assigned as the leading detective on the case and ends up in a relationship with the both of them as he spirals in madness trying to catch the killer.

for Steph, i want to explore the idea of her father, Cluemaster, being a *very* prolific and artful serial killer who's whole gimmick was sending clues to the police until he was caught when Steph was still a child, and her and her mother were forced to go into witness protection for their own safety, which led her down the path of becoming a nun. it was a defining childhood moment for her to walk in on one of her father's crimes, so when she's the one who finds the crime scene in the church, it *immediately* sends her back to her childhood and she's caught between PTSD-fueled horror and a sick, enticing fascination. she wanted to become a journalist before going into WITSEC but that career was basically all but ruined for her. now she runs the small newspaper for the church and is desperate to write on the first "real" story she's ever had, dragging her into an intense obsession over the crime and trying to prove she can solve it.

for Jason, i want to deal with his history as Bruce. the current idea is that Bruce is Tim's police chief who adopted Jason and Dick from a young-ish age and raised them to be detectives, taking them to crime scenes as teenagers and teaching them the ins and outs of how criminals think. it leads to Dick becoming a detective, but when taking them to crime scenes led to Jason being kidnapped and brutally tortured by "Jack Napier", almost dying. Dick kills Napier to save Jason and it fractures their little family so badly that Dick switches departments to another city and Jason runs away at 17, eventually happening upon joining the clergy. he's the new, young priest in the church who's known for being very pretty but very emotionally distant even if he's nice enough. and he's *pissed* that Bruce is in his church investigating a murder and that no matter where Jason goes, he can't seem to get away from the horrors.

and for Tim, he's the young new detective in his department who is *entirely* unaware that he's been taken under Bruce's wing bc Bruce is treating him as a surrogate replacement for Dick and Jason. haven't fully decided his backstory yet, but it'll likely be similar to canon with losing his mother and father. i kind of want him to be lost and lacking a sense of direction. very gifted in noticing patterns and detective work, but it's clear he doesn't *really* want this job. and when he's assigned as the lead on a case that feels *way* too big for his experience bc Bruce is showing clear favoritism, he's forced to go to Steph for help, which leads to Jason ending up wrapped up with them too.

despite how heavy the plot *sounds*, i honestly want this fic to be like. 40% porn. like the show i want to explore a lot of fucked up sexual interests in Jason who's punishing himself for it, Steph being too interested in things for her own good and desperate for a taste of what "real life" feels like, and Tim just being incredibly repressed. like i want the line between horror and erotic to feel like a jumprope. lots of fucked up sex balanced with like. them actually trying to catch the killer. and then of course the emotional aspect of how Jason's baggage with Bruce works into all of it. also want Tim to have a mild hero worship for "the great Detective Dick Grayson" while being clueless that he's Bruce's son and Jason's brother. i sort of want it to be Steph-centric, but still have POVs from Tim and Jason just to round out their emotional arcs. i haven't fully decided everyone else who'll be in the fic but i know i want Cass to be a fellow nun and friend of Steph's, Babs to also work at the church, Helena to be Tim's favorite coworker, and possibly for Damian to be around somehow. those roles will probably get more fleshed out when i. watch the damn show tho.

anyway TLDR: religious imagery, body horror, kinky sex, and a mystery that might break everyone psychologically once they get to the bottom of it. i have some very specific scenes and dialogue planned out. probably cannibalism as a metaphor for love thrown in there too. idk i just want these three to be as fucked up as possible and unhinged about each other but fighting their repressed side with their unhinged feral side. and since it doesn't exist by god I'll create it.

The very same Severian who would hardly look her way unless it was to make a passing comment about whatever she might be working on — if she was so lucky. Even then, he never really saw her. The man was always so consumed with his own work, driven by some unknown passion, always producing immaculate results — or at least delegating orders for immaculate results. Maybe it was this passion that drew her in: his ceaseless pursuit of alchemical excellence in service — of what, exactly? It didn't really matter to Esca at the time, starry-eyed as she was. Her youthful fawning for the guildmaster would pass, as all things do, though she still admires Severian as a professional.

By all accounts, Esca's childhood was an adequate one. As her Sharlayan-born father was often occupied with botany-related business of his own, Esca's Ishgardian mother wasted no opportunity to dote on her darling daughter, to provide her beloved offspring with whatever she needed — within reason, of course. The family's coffers were strained for as long as they remained in Ishgard, but the move to Ul'dah (who can resist the gil of wealthy Ul'dahn investors?) would change everything.

Not for the better, though. Perhaps it was the drastic change of climate that affected her, but Esca's mother would frequently suffer from illnesses of varying severity. The situation would only worsen, leading to the circulation of the worst kinds of rumors. How had Esca's father's promising new business so quickly earned the ire of the East Aldenard Trading Company? It's all so unfair. Her mother had never harmed a soul. If such terrible things still happen to good people, then what's the point of being a good person?

Hiiiiiiiiii!!!!!! And this is such a lovely ask?!!!!!! I do actually have an answer!!!!!!!!! I actually really got into poetry a couple years ago so there’s lots that I love but I’m gonna say one of H.D’s poems called Fragment Sixty-Eight. There’s yearning and desire and mortality and ugh please just read it.

I just think her writing is so beautiful and like soul wrenching a bit, initially I was drawn to her stuff because she used a lot of Greek mythology references which I’ve always been interested in yeah just fell in love with her writing (Eurydice was the first poem of hers I read I highly recommend it too). She was also just a really cool person and she was bi too and yeah just very interesting

ABSOLUTELY FROM JONATHANS PERSPECTIVE. Originally believing his powers can only be used for villain-y/bad, now feeling like he has a new purpose after me telling him he’s capable of so much more if he applies his powers to do good rather than mischief.. AND THEN THE “no one needs you more than I need you” erm?? Connected to the him and Miguel mid off perhaps? (Unintentional cuz I feel like he doesn’t find out till I tell him the craziness) ANYWAYS . This is insanity .

12. Are there any unusual headcanons you have about your f/os?

Omg it’s so lame but I need to wait till the movies out cuz like I say everytime they are not showing him a lot in these trailers/promos 😭 so I’ll totally get back to this after the movie but one headcanon I do have is that when he blushes it looks like how lead smudges on paper!! Since his design has like sketch circles/lines incorporated in it so I think it’d be cute if his blush looked like lead smudge!

15. Once you both fell for each other, did either of you start acting differently around the other? Or did either of you manage to act normal™ around the other?

I love how I keep @ ing Jonathan but this goob most definitely acted different around me once we fell for each other. LIKE MOST LOVESICK PUPPY DOG BEHAVIOR EVER @ following me around wherever I go/bringing me gifts at the worst possible time (I’ve had such a visual of him popping in during the scene where me and miles are running from the spider society and he’s just like o_o .. I’ll pop back in when you’re free..)/wanting to be as close to me as possible.. what a goob sigh OFC I wasn’t normal either I was prob just as bad as he was when we first met and ofc he just got worse cuz he’s never fell in love like that before 😭
