some Beau interactions

Been thinking about @dibbledoodle's character Beau's unique magic. Made me wonder what some of my characters books would be like. I don't think it's stated if his um gives the books titles and covers or not, but I titled them anyway.

Oh that actually raises a question, do the books Beau's unique magic spawn disappear over time? Or is Beau basically creating a library. I would think that the books would disappear over time as so Beau doesn't have to deal with storing them later? Though if he ever wanted to read someone's life again...

Anyway, I tried to match Beau's character in each of my little drawings.

I figure Lance's book probably comes off as boring as he basically lives as a background character and does whatever is told of him. I also can't recall if I meant to title it Wallflower or Wildflower as I did the rough sketches quite a while ago.

Thought maybe Lance and Beau would meet if Beau were to try checking in on Aureline's dormmates. Like make sure none of them would take advantage of his twin, since his character description says Beau is protective of Aureline.

As for Paulie, I figure these two could likely meet since they're both going to RSA. With Beau being a dorm leader and Paulie probably getting into trouble quite often, I could see Paulie getting reprimanded by Beau.

Though Paulie's not very mature when it comes to being reprimanded. (Paulie in the drawing is repeating what Beau says in a mocking, yet quiet voice.)

Then for my yuu-insert, I'm not sure what Beau would really think? Her book probably comes off as strange as I think only those in NRC know that Yuu(s) are from an entirely different world. Bobo comes from an underground mushroom kingdom as well as being the ruler of that kingdom from, if I recall correctly, the young age of twelve.

Actually, I wonder if Beau would think his unique magic wasn't working right? If I thought of that earlier, I would have put it as option D. Option B is prompted because her book would mention how she thinks she may have died before appearing in Twisted Wonderland. As her last memories of her world is her receiving a head wound while alone and out of reach of society.

If Beau were to believe his unique magic is working like it should and that Bobo's not delusional, he'd be the only one in Twisted Wonderland to know she rules a kingdom. Bobo hasn't told anyone about her being a ruler as she does have her misgivings about Crowley and thinks she may have been kidnapped to this world.

If she's been kidnapped, she doesn't need to make herself a bigger target by letting Crowley know how desperately people would want her to be returned to her home world.

Lastly, if Beau were to bump into Tuck and use his um on him for some reason; Tuck's book probably reads a bit like a joke. As Tuck is cursed with the running joke of always being late to things.

In this timeline Rook transfers to Ramshackle and becomes our vice housewarden.

It’s a shame that none of the in-game character models have freckles. Freckles are cool.

The weird realization that for Bobo, Savanaclaw Rook would carve bats and mushrooms. Would this end up attracting Lilia and Jade to constantly hang out at Ramshackle?

Heck cute idea: Bobo trying to paint the carvings but she’s never painted before so its messy but Rook adores it. Bobo wanting to learn to carve and Rook doing the cliche hand-guiding thing to teach her.

Savanaclaw Rook who leaves little wooden carvings of your favorite animals and plants at Ramshackle’s front door. The first time he did this, you almost stepped on it and felt terrible about nearly ruining such a pretty gift. He assured you that it wasn’t a big deal, that you would have hurt yourself more than the wood, and that he’s so glad your precious skin wasn’t harmed.

Savanaclaw Rook who climbs the trees right outside your dorm room’s window so he can knock on the glass and snatch your attention. He basks in it, like the sun’s glow that showered him in freckles, and finds himself swooning when you drag him inside and complain about the splinters he has in his hands. They aren’t pleasant, but being touched so tenderly sets his heart ablaze.

Savanaclaw Rook that lets you trace the freckles on his face, shutting his eyes as your fingers brush pretty shapes and letters across the marks. You spell his name, you draw the sun, you spell I love you, you draw little hearts. At some point, he doubts you’re even following his freckles anymore, but when you’re seated on his lap and your face is so close to his, he doesn’t dare disturb you.

Savanaclaw Rook that has his fixation on beauty awoken with you. It’s obvious Vil helped spur him to action, but anyone that knows Rook well enough knows that your beauty was the starting ember of his fiery passion for all things beautiful. And everyone knows that you will forever be special to him, whether they know well him or not.

I Spy With My Little Eye

Bobo belongs to me, Jaxon belongs to @ryker-writes, Anan and Charin belong to @siphoklansan

(I don't know if the ask I sent regarding Anan's eyes reached Siphok, but if tumblr didn't eat it, sorry for asking and then losing patience to wait. I feel like I probably got a few things wrong with your characters' designs anyway. If official reference sheets of them come out, I may just draw them again.)

In regards to Bobo's comment about what she's seeing definitely not being Malleus... yes Jaxon has tricked her and she's mistaken Malleus for a tree before. She's somewhat near-sighted but refuses to believe that she could benefit from glasses.

Anan and Charin may have gotten ears which my chibi style doesn't usually have, but Jaxon got eyebrows. I usually don't use eyebrows for my chibi style either unless it really helps with emoting but it just felt like I was giving Jaxon a huge forehead with all that empty space.

Also I can't decide how I want to do belts for my chibi style so Jaxon randomly sometimes has a belt. One panel doesn't really show the earrings on Anan's ear and that's because I forgot along with also not knowing what to do with that ear angle.

I thought it would also be fun to share my rough drafts. Had a really rough draft first to try to get the idea down.

Then I polished up to a better rough draft.

Then afterwards decided to split it into two parts considering the size of it all. I did also originally sketch Bobo's phone to be like a flip-phone. When it came to the official outlining, I looked up what phone Crowley actually gives the MC in Twst. It's a smartphone and not something super old.

Also I changed some of Anan's lines as I realized that Siphok also takes the role of the MC and I wasn't sure how to go about merging worlds. I decided to try to keep it a bit more vague by keeping Bobo saying she's from Ramshackle, but not having anyone say if she's the Prefect. So could just be a dormmate I guess? Or just something that no one acknowledges or thinks about when two different MC-inserts may cross paths.

Didn't know how to have Jaxon leave and decided to go for the awkward just go and leave thing.

I love how Riddle has told his entire dorm to avoid Jaxon because I'm now imagining Cater when Jaxon walks into the Pop Music Club. Not completely sure how Cater would react but I think it's funny to at least imagine meme-wise that he'd be sweating bullets.

Kalim and Lilia being completely on board with Jaxon joining the club so no matter if Cater is cool with it or not he's been outvoted. I'm now realizing I don't know much about those three. I've heard that supposedly Kalim is quite observant when it comes to people? I have a hard time believing that though..

Also like the imagery of Jaxon befriending someone short and just following them around. Tall shadow

I can see Bobo being told that Jaxon is dangerous and she just silently dismisses that. People call Malleus dangerous but to her he doesn't seem interested in causing trouble. So to her she'll decide for her own. Unlike Ace though, she isn't going to go demand a chat or whatever.

Bobo wouldn't dare say it aloud but to her everyone in this school is dangerous. They could all very easily hurt her if they wanted to. Heck she got hurt when Grim forced her to be part of the spelldrive game and ended up hitting her with the disc. (Rip but I guess we weren't going to see how the matches went anyway with how the game works.)

Part of why she would so easily forgive Jaxon for using his unique magic is because she feels the safest thing for her to do is to be a bit of a doormat and let all this punks do what they want. It's best if she stays cordial and polite.

Though if I could think of a good reason for it, I would totally have her do magicless fights with Savanaclaw and possibly earn respect from most of that dorm. Maybe even just arm wrestling.

Cater was a bit unsure what to do when Jaxon joined the club. Both Kalim and Lilia accepted him immediately , but Cater was reminded of what Riddle said. Still, I don't think Cater listens to Riddle all the time. So, Cater will probably chat with him and be friendly like the other two in the club.

Kalim isn't super observant when it comes to other people. After Jaxon joins the club, he's very friendly toward him and even wants to throw a party to celebrate his return and becoming a part of the club. Jaxon declines the party and isn't super friendly, but Kalim isn't hurt by his attitude.

It's better overall if people don't demand anything from him, so Bobo has the right approach in not copying Ace. While everyone is considered dangerous in the school and many are strong, Jaxon is considered dangerous for a different reason. He's more physically violent than most students and has no problem fighting people. In the past, he even severely injured another student in a fight (and he doesn't even use his magic to fight most of the time)

Jaxon appreciates people who don't immediately make judgments off what others say about him, but he also thinks people shouldn't let others walk over them

Magicless fights with Savanaclaw are tough tho so good luck Bobo

Somewhat random thought realized from seeing people’s reaction to Ace’s loungewear card.

(Spoilers for how the card art looks if anyone rather try to not be spoiled for that.)

It’s funny to me that it seems like several people feel like he’s nude for not having his make-up on.

I simply failed to realize or fully realize he didn’t have the heart on? I’m not entirely sure as I barely got to take in the art before seeing this take.

It makes complete sense to me that he doesn’t have his classic heart on since it’s not recommended to sleep while still wearing makeup.

Anyway, the somewhat random thought is, would Bobo feel naked to others whenever she isn’t wearing gloves? She practically always wears a pair except for when she eats and sleeps. (Well, properly sleeps, she still wears them during naps.)

Bobo’s sleepwear is likely long pants and sleeves due to how cold she feels in Twisted Wonderland. She’s used to having to deal with people who have different ideals to her kingdom including modesty and what certain genders should wear. Though if anyone felt she looked naked if her hands were bare, I think that would quite baffle her.

Wait imagine someone applying makeup to Bobo where it covers up all her birthmarks. She’d look especially naked then, wouldn’t she?

Oh, does anyone know if foundation can be applied without covering up freckles? I don’t know much about makeup so I worry that giving Bobo a full face of it would basically erase her birthmarks. Which is something I wouldn’t want to happen.

So I’m guessing just some bits of makeup could be applied like eyeshadow, just nothing like foundation?

🎵What would Bobo's favorite song be?

I'd say it's the first song she heard from Baentu, which I give a little snippet in Baentu's ref. Gosh I still need to set something up before I feel like I can share Baentu. Which so far is mostly resting on me actually designing the man-eating beasts in the Mycelind Kingdom but I just haven't yet. (I think it's mostly because finding the refs I want takes longer now as I have to consider if what I'm looking at it ai-generated or not.)

I only have a few words of the song as I'm not musically-inclined. My idea being behind it that it's a heartbreak song but Baentu's aludes to it not really being one, just a bit of poking fun at love songs, break up songs, and such as Baentu's aroace. Don't know if I can actually get that idea across if I ever do attempt to write the lyrics. Which would be all I'd be able to do, I can only roughly read sheet music. I'm thinking it would be in the rock/metal genre with some screamo elements. (Keep in mind my grasp of music genres is kind of weak.)

Actually these two songs are what inspired/caused me to base what type of music Bobo likes. Sun Killer by Spiritbox and Promise by Voyager. (text links are to youtube videos)

🕑 What time does Bobo generally wake up at?

I actually still haven't figured out her schedule- I want to be wild and say 4 am but really I should plan out what her schedule usually looks like so I can have an actual answer.

Okay I penned up a rough idea of what her schedule could be and I hope it's not realistic and that I can fine-tune it because I have it suggesting to me that Bobo does wake up at 4am and goes to bed around 11pm. Which would be roughly 5 hours of sleep... which again we pulling into the fantasy/videogame logics as how can someone survive years of so little sleep? Adults are supposed to get at least 8 hours of sleep (unless they have lucky genetics) and anyone younger tends to need more sleep than that.

I know she's going to have several different schedules for different days too as I didn't cover international affairs, working out, fight practice, time to visit Baentu, and such. Actually I should try figuring out what all the government official positions would be and that might help me better fine-tune her schedules. I know I have ideas for their being councils to handle certain parts of the government.

Twst Bobo should take advantage of her situation and let herself get more sleep but she doesn't want to struggle with fixing her schedule if she ever does get back home. Plus she can use all the free time for studying (like geez Grim and MC must have terrible grades as surely it's like them skipping middle school and going straight to high school) and for getting to try things she never had time for before. Like woodcarving, painting, and with some outside encouragement, video games.

So uh, tldr: Bobo has a habit of waking up at 4 am.

💢 What's one thing that's sure to piss off Bobo?

Poking fun of the people from her kingdom. Trying to suggest that her kingdom isn't made up of humans or that they're all freaks. Along with just not taking the threats her kingdom faces all that seriously. Calling her a child, immature, someone incapable of running a kingdom. Also just disrespecting boundaries, whether that be her own or the others' around her. She's also a sore loser.

For example, Twst Bobo will snap if someone won't stop trying to touch her face. Most likely this type of provocation will cause her to physically lash out, whether that just be slapping a hand away or trying to squeeze someone's fingers with the idea to break them before snapping out of it. I know already that when it comes to VDC, Bobo cries out of anger that NRC loses. She's quite loyal so despite thinking the song Vil commissioned is generic and lame, that's her team! Bobo then holds a grudge against Neige, but I can't see her actually lashing out at him as he's depicted as so nice. So she'd probably just come off as grumpy in Neige's presence.

Basically Bobo has a temper that can flare up when it comes to pitting herself and those she cares about against something/someone else. Otherwise she tends to be able to keep it under control. If her temper breaks, she's usually able to reclaim control over herself rather quick. Usually she attempts to deal with her anger when she works out. Sometimes she gets way too invested in competitions and losing will upset her greatly.

💔 Have they ever experienced heartbreak?

Well I do have it planned than in her adult years that she'll probably have a few failed relationships, so I would think that counts? So she never really experienced any in her childhood. The closest she got in childhood was having a little kid crush on a rock-metal idol. Which of course didn't progress further than that. Though I suppose that just covers romantic heartbreak. I've usually only heard heartbreak when speaking of romantic feelings.

She was definitely heartbroken when her parents suddenly died when she was just eight-years-old. I think I have heard heartbreak being used in terms of familial bonds. Bobo had nightmares for quite a while when they died and actually couldn't sleep without a couple of plushies too. I haven't decided if the plushies are bats or goats. Eventually she did stop having nightmares but it took a little longer for her to no longer need the plushies to be able to fall asleep.

🧭 How easily can they find their way? Do they get lost easily?

That's a bit of a tough one to answer. Bobo does like to explore when she can, but she's grown up with tech that she's never had to worry about not having a signal. Tech that's set up to alert guards to her last location if it were to die or something were to go wrong. It's hard to say she can get lost when her kingdom's version of a phone/tablet can easily guide her back.

I do want to say she won't get lost all that easily as she has a rather great memory. So she takes notes of certain landmarks to give her a vague idea of the path she's taking and thus can backtrack if needed. Though if she were to fall somewhere with no easy way back up, then Bobo could possibly get lost. Especially easier for her to get lost if everything looks the same. With her eyesight, landmarks are usually certain glowing mushrooms and/or something that stands out in color.

💡 What's an idea that they once had that made others go "That's not gonna work," but it still worked?

I have several ideas and points for what Bobo's life may be like, mostly her childhood, but I haven't thought out too many specific stories. So I don't know if she's ever had a crazy plan that worked out. I feel like characters that are able to pull off wild stunts are usually ones that think outside of the box and/or not considered someone who thinks rationally/reasonably.

I'd like to think Bobo is quite reasonable. Even if she were to give an idea that causes others to doubt, she'd likely explain it until others can see what she sees. Also she likes to have others understand any of her plans so they can help correct any bits or give better ideas if they have them. If it is a wild idea that others may doubt, she might not even give others a chance to hear what the idea is.

Like the only one I can think of that counts would be the alt-route I wrote for Twst's Phantom Bride event. Bobo wasn't confident her idea would work, but she was certain that at the very least it could buy them all more time.

Hi, I’m back with more ranting, because I hyper fixated on cryptids and mythological creatures for two years straight and now have so many Ideas for your MH x Twst au, starting with sebek, I don’t really like him so I don’t have many thoughts for him, but him being a bobo is funny to me purely because of its name and it suits him because it’s (mainly) drawn as a werd cross over between a dolphin and a alligator.

Now for Leona I think him being the Santer lines up surprisingly well with ruggie dodging photos in this au (not at all related to what I think Leona could be, did you know there is a cactus cat cryptid?)

Malleus has a very obvious out for what he could be, but I’ve decided a regular dragon is too boring, so I have two ideas for him, one being the Jersey devil and the other being a cockitrice which fits malleus because you can’t look them in the eye (also not at all a dragon, but being a thunderbird also fits malleus)

you said you were struggling with all of octavinelle and I already gave you my thoughts on azul, (also didn’t add this on my earlier rant, Nigen azul makes sense too) so have my ideas for the twins my first idea (and my favorite) is the twins being the storsjöodjuret or the abaia (personally I don’t think the abaia fits well, aside from being an eel, as it’s more a protector than anything while the storsjöodjurent is a lake monster)

last character in this rant, lilia as a skin walker, or the smiling man makes so much sense to me I refuse to let it go (Neither are practically malicious, they either shapeshift or just effect uncanny valley after you meet them)

I loved finding out about the bobo and the cactus cat, the best little guys I've seen all day fr, AND IF I'M NOT MISTAKEN the cockitrice is that one mean chicken from that one mlp episode? That's how I recognized it anyway KDNWKSN

Those are such cool creatures! I'm not sure if I would assign specific ones to aaaall the characters, but just knowing those exist now already gives me ideas for design and hcs! 💃

Embarrassing Tea

Bobo quite enjoyed having weekly tea time with Rook. The hunter would like to have these daily, but Bobo wasn’t willing to risk losing time for studying. Their tea times would be Rook’s way of asking Bobo any questions he had about her. Sure, back home such questions would have been annoying, but now it offered as a way to indulge in her homesickness. Especially since Rook was quite willing to hear all about her world.

“Ah… well… when it comes to confessions of love, there is a period of time that most people indulge in that. There’s a very sweet-tasting mushroom that grows for roughly a month once a year. Those who want to confess their feelings will cultivate some and gift them to the one they wish to confess to. Though it’s not only romantic love that’s celebrated during this time!” Bobo paused, a bit embarrassed to have raised her voice. She took a sip of the tea Rook had brought.

“Oh? What other kinds of love are celebrated?” Rook encouraged, giving her his rapt attention like always.

“Well, familial and platonic love… A year-round yellow mushroom that’s easy to cultivate is the one friends will give to each other. It has a rather mellow taste. As for familial, there’s this green mushroom that grows at the same time as the pink ones, though for a longer stretch of time, that people will give. My caretaker’s boyfriend actually gave me some last year… It’s a little funny now that I think about it. I know Beau so much more than I know him, yet he was bold enough to declare himself as an uncle to me.” Bobo giggled, smiling down at her cup.

Rook narrowed his eyes slightly. Bobo usually tried to avoid giving any names of those from her world.

“Merveilleux!” Rook suddenly exclaimed, only slightly surprising Bobo. She glanced up, quirking an eyebrow at him. He leaned over the table, clasping her hands with his own.

“You truly let yourself relax a little around me, don’t you, Trickster?” Rook asked, causing her to stiffen slightly. He tutted at that, letting her go as he shook his head. “We’re friends, no? Why are you so scared to let your guard down, amie?”

“Ah…” Bobo let out a soundless laugh, “Sorry… I’ve always had to watch how I present myself unless it’s only my caretakers around me. Plus this set-up… I used to have tea with… that annoying girl, who I couldn’t afford an actual fight breaking out between us.” Bobo let out a sigh, giving Rook a weary look. “I really share a little too much with you, I feel. Even if the possibility that you could use such info against me is rather quite low.”

“Yet you’re more carefree around Monsieur Heart and Monsieur Spade. Have I not proved myself as a worthy le compagnon?” Rook moved his chair from across from her to beside her. He took off his hat, holding it to his chest in a bout of showy playfulness.

“I spend a lot of time with those two… they look after me, and while you do too, I think the amount of time together has caused me to be so lax around them.” Bobo ducked her head slightly as she gave him a sheepish smile.

“The chase can be fun too. One day, you’ll manhandle me about.” Rook smiled up at the sky, returning his hat to his head. Bobo laughed, shaking her head at his odd eagerness. She leaned over, grabbing his hat to tilt it over his face.

“You want to be manhandled? Well just do something dumb like those two do and I’ll likely do so.” Bobo and Rook chuckled. He fixed his hat, looking rather fondly at her. Bobo blinked, wondering why that look was making her feel embarrassed. She leaned back, pushing at his shoulder gently to create even more space.

“Back to the subject, there’s still more to the confession season. If the one who was gifted the mushrooms returns the feelings, they’ll commonly make a meal with said gifted shrooms. The meal is shared between them. That’s usually only with romantic-intention gifts though. Friends will give the shrooms to each other just to help celebrate that there’s more than just romantic relations, other kinds of love are important too. I ended up eating the shrooms given to me just as they were. Despite their bitter flavor, they are a nice, filling snack.”

“Ah what a beauté time! You must show me these mushrooms at some point.” Rook had scooted his chair away, giving her the space she desired. Bobo took another sip of her tea, taking the moment to shake off the odd feeling.

“I’ll have to consult Sam and Jade on if this world even has them. From some of my discussions with Jade, it seems like some mushrooms don’t exist in this world. Though I feel the sure-fire way to check is if Sam can’t get his hands on even any of the spores.” Bobo said.

“Quelle déception, is there not any other unique customs of yours to express such feelings?”

“Unique…. Oh! Maybe the way we kiss is unique? I recall some from the above kingdom would try to kiss my glove. Apparently it’s a way of greeting, specifically for men to greet women? Their ways are so weird. It’s not hygienic to kiss my gloves, they’re so careless when it comes to the risk of spores.” Bobo gave an exasperated exhale. “In the My- in my kingdom, there isn’t any kisses used for greetings. Where one kisses does show certain feelings though! Forehead kisses are shows of familial affection. Friends may kiss each others’ cheeks. On the lips is for those that are dating. And… and…”

Bobo took a swig of tea, forcing the growing embarrassment down her throat. “And a kiss near the corner of the lips is to flirt… to show one’s desire to date.” She pointedly avoided looking at Rook, feeling ridiculous for her face getting all heated over this.

“Magnifique! Your shy reactions are adorable, Trickster!” Rook’s reaction caused Bobo to hold her hands up in front of her face, hovering, hiding it. Rook simply clasped her hands, bringing them closer to himself. He leaned in, confusing her, as he brought his mouth near her ear.

“Has anyone given Trickster a flirty kiss before?” He softly teased. Bobo made some sort of choking sound, trying to jump back, but he kept a firm hold of her hands.

“O-of course not! I mean- Augh! If you make fun of me some more, then I’ll manhandle your face into the dirt!”

“Très bien! Show me the beauty of your passion!”

“Rooook!” Bobo pulled her hands free, standing up, completely flustered. Rook sat there, eagerly awaiting further action from her.

“That’s enough questions for today!” Bobo turned on her heel and bolted off. Rook blinked, actually surprised.

Deuce, Ace, and Grim were all startled as Bobo collided into Deuce. Deuce awkwardly hovered his hands around her elbows as she hid her face in his chest, gripping his shirt.

“Woah!” The heartslabyul duo exclaimed before Deuce spoke, “Prefect?! What’s wrong?!” Bobo pulled her head back so her reply would be clear to hear.

“Is shoving someone’s face in the dirt considered romantic in any of the customs in this world?”

“. . .”

“You’ve got to stop having tea with Rook, henchman.” Grim said.

“You were having tea with that oddball?!” Ace exclaimed. Bobo shoved her face into Deuce’s chest again.

“That’s why I was hanging out with you two without Bobo.” Grim responded.

“You really bring this kind of stuff onto yourself, Prefect.” Ace sighed, easing Bobo away from Deuce and to himself. He waited a moment, luring her into a sense of comfort before furiously rubbing his hand on the top of her head.

“Hey!” Bobo complained, pulling away from him to pull him down to her height to get at his hair. Ace laughed, trying to fight her off.

“What kind of conversation was the Prefect having with Rook?” Deuce asked Grim.

Woooo! I've gotten all the Phantom Bride cards except for Ace (and Lilia's still temporary/not fully unlocked)!! Rip Ace I'm not going to bother trying to get him.

I've also written that fan piece of Bobo going up against Eliza for Idia's hand and posted it! Did not get art for it done, but I am still going to do art for the event and have it as a fan twst Bobo card.

Wasn't sure how well I ended the piece as I wasn't entirely sure how much I keep going or if there's a specific way I should wrap it up.

Bobo would be a bit disappointed to learn that she can't see the stars as well as Jaxon can. Though if he tries to suggest that she needs glasses, she'd just stubbornly reply that he has unusually sharp eyes. How long do you think it would take for Jaxon to realize that he could try finding some crisp pictures of stars to show her? I don't think it would quite cross Bobo's mind that they could try using an imaging device to help her see them.

Hmm, with Jaxon learning about Bobo's sight and if he gets a good grasp of how far is too far for her vision, I could see him teasing her. He just points at something in the distance and asks her who's that. Bobo tries to guess but Jaxon's rigged it.

"Malleus?" Bobo squints at what Jaxon's pointing at.

"That's a tree." Jaxon is indeed pointing at a young/short dark-colored tree.

"A tree? That's not fair! You said who! As in a person!" Bobo half-heartedly gives Jaxon some punches. No power behind any of them so they don't even hurt.

I wonder if Ortho has any recordings of the shooting stars from the Wish Upon a Star event. Though it would probably be from his point of view, I'd imagine it would still look amazing to see a bunch of wishing stars descending upon the planet from space.

Oh would Jaxon get mad over how Bobo and Grim have to share a wishing star since they're technically one student? Or would he not get worked up about it upon seeing Bobo so willingly give her star to Grim? It's a little sad that the game didn't really give the player a choice, but it actually works for Bobo. She wouldn't be able to decide on one wish plus the things she thought of for the wishing star feel a little too far-fetched/impossible to fulfill.

Dang it if Jaxon were to try to ask why she gave it to Grim and tried to pry into what type of wishes she had in mind... probably end up with them both being sad.

Dang it Deuce is so sweet in that event but he talks like he's so certain that the player won't leave. Bobo certainly had some feelings upon hearing Deuce wanting her to see him achieve his career goals. I think I have a vignette story planned to cover Bobo giving up her star and her reaction to Deuce basically acting like there's not even a chance she'll go home. I know I have notes on stuff, but I'm too lazy to look.

I once said that Bobo would enjoy stargazing with Jaxon, but I’ve gotten the idea that most of the people from her kingdom, including her, are near-sighted to some degree. Which means things in the far distance are blurry.

Not sure how sound my logic is, but trying to look up irl cave aquatic life has shown me that quite a bit of them are blind. So perhaps humans that live underground in caves may slowly evolve to a similar blind state? Not purely blind as I recall reading that blind cavefish can still detect light… but if caves are limited in fields of view where the sky could reasonably said they aren’t limited at all… then is far-sight all that needed?

So I wouldn’t say Bobo is as near-sighted as I am, but things do get blurry at a certain distance. I have no idea what distance, I need to figure out how I want to word that into google. I just tested with myself by going outside to look at the stars with and without my glasses on.

The very few stars I could see without my glasses were like shiny smeary dots. Like they produced more light / seemed bigger/wider than with my glasses on. Then the moon seemed like a shiny blurry sequin.

Bobo doesn’t have prescription glasses as I’m thinking if most of her kingdom’s population is near-sighted, they probably don’t think it’s a situation where glasses are needed and/or could help. Heck I already have it that most written/printed text is in braille due to low-lighting.

So instead of Bobo stargazing with Jaxon. I propose the idea of Jaxon watching the stars, refusing to sleep while Bobo stares up at the night sky, wondering if he just really likes the color of dark blue. She does love the day sky for its blue color.

How long do you think it would take Jaxon to realize she can’t see any stars?

I imagine both of them sitting in silence for many nights looking up at the sky for different reasons. Jaxon is admiring the stars and constellations and Bobo is just loving the deep blue color across the sky. It would probably stay like that for a while until one of them says something about it.

I see Jaxon commenting something like "the stars are starting to align" or "hmm a shooting star" and Bobo is SO confused about it. That would probably be how Jaxon finds out, and from then on may even try to briefly describe the sight and constellations to her. His descriptions aren't the greatest and he struggles from time to time, but he's trying his best. Jaxon wishes Bobo could see the stars too. When he had no one, he had the stars over him at all times. They almost became something important to him and he wishes she could see how wonderful they are

but for now he'll settle for describing them

I tend to use the twst wiki to look up voice-lines since there isn’t really a way for me to do so in game unless I have the cards and patience to try to get them all. I’ve noticed with Riddle’s suitor suit and I think his halloween he mentions teaching MC how to dance and/or behave at formal matters.

Bobo is a bit exasperated each time Riddle offers. She knows how to waltz and hates it. She knows how she’s supposed to act in stuffy formal situations, she simply chooses how much of that etiquette she’s actually going to follow.

So if Bobo were to notice Jaxon having a crush on Riddle, she would totally try to redirect Riddle to him. I’m somewhat doubtful on her actually noticing since it sounds like the two would not get along well at first?

“I already know how Riddle, how about you ask Jaxon instead? That way the next time we have such a dance, he’ll be able to participate too.” Bobo wont usually try to rope Jaxon into things but if it’s like the halloween event (havent experienced yet, only read) then Jaxon’s being forced to participate to some degree. So why not try to get Jaxon and Riddle dancing so she can dance with Floyd.

Bobo hates waltzing and loves how Floyd sees dancing so she always has a blast dancing with him. Probably looks as foolish as him though Floyd probably has some grace so maybe Bobo just looks foolish on her own.

I can see Riddle being a bit annoyed not getting to dance with Bobo simply because he’d be the taller one for once. I made Bobo 5’1” because I don’t have many short humans and what better character type than the unassuming short cutie that can break yo bones.

I use the wiki and a few other places whenever I need to find stuff about the game and I totally believe Riddle would try to teach people how to dance

It's not that Riddle and Jaxon don't get along well at first, but they just really avoid each other in the beginning. Once they get over that avoiding each other tho, they start to become closer and Jaxon actually likes spending time with Riddle. So there could be a chance she notices that he's hanging out with Riddle a lot more

Jaxon does participate in the Halloween event. His unique magic is a little helpful in making people feel a little anxious as they wander the halls of NRC. It makes the scares more effective.

Jaxon...doesn't know how to dance and especially not waltzing. But if Riddle is going to teach him, he'll probably try it. I can see Riddle getting a bit frustrated because Jaxon is so much taller than him. The two definitely have to do some adjusting when trying to dance together

First Meeting

Some interactions for Bobo and Pluto. Bobo’s my oc taking the place of Twst’s mc. Pluto is a Savanaclaw oc belonging to @names-are-dumb @daedalusslabyrinth

(Abel, you could try writing Bobo if you want. I’ll let you know how accurate you get. Plus like, I feel like I’m wildly guessing for Pluto.)

Pluto, like everyone else, had heard every wild story that there is about Ramshackle, apparently being a dorm, and its two odd occupants. A magicless human who the Headmage had appointed as Prefect and some sort of talking fiery cat. Pluto had also heard the murmuring of students that theorized what exactly was up with the Prefect. How could a magicless person get their own dorm, bring a familiar, be instated as prefect, and somehow be involved with every overblot so far?

They had to be hiding something, but it seemed that slowly each dorm was warming up to the Prefect. Those that claimed to know them often stated that the prefect was well-meaning, kind, and never really used their power as prefect. Though this caused doubters to start theorizing that the prefect was somehow a spy or agent planted by the Headmage. It didn’t seem to matter how nonsensical that theory was, wilder ones were bound to be born the longer students wondered what was truly going on.

So with the Prefect being a topic brought up every now and then, Pluto found himself watching them whenever they crossed paths. He had even tried to infiltrate their small freshmen friend group to see if he could glean any important or useful information. Though he was promptly blocked by Ace. The audacity of that boy! To call Pluto annoying?! Pluto was certain that if anyone here was annoying, it was Azul Ace!

It didn’t help that Ace had told him to stay away without any of his friends to hear. If the Prefect really is kind, surely they’d interject about Ace banning him from hanging out with their group. It really didn’t help that Ace knew Pluto was a bit of a con man. The redhead had fallen for one of Pluto’s sales-pitches before.

Thus Pluto kept his distance for now. To his annoyance, the Prefect never seemed to be alone. Always someone by their side, most of that time being their familiar, closely followed by Ace and Juice. He still wasn’t confident that guy’s name was actually juice.

One day he saw the Prefect and their familiar enter his dorm leader’s room. He recalled never seeing the Prefect leave the dorm that day. Then the next day he overheard some third years complaining about a cat yowling along with bursts of screamo music throughout the night? It was a few days later that he learned what had happened. Azul had tried to steal the Ramshackle dorm and so the Prefect along with their familiar tortured his dorm leader all night until he agreed to beat up the Octavinelle Housewarden himself! Which led to an overblot, but that’s not important.

What’s important is that his rival got beaten up and he had nothing to do with it! If only Ace hadn’t persuaded him to stay away from the Prefect! They could have come to him and Pluto would get the glory of beating up Azul! Plus Pluto would have gotten the Ramshackle dorm to himself!

Though that did lead Pluto to actually visit Ramshackle. The dorm name must be misleading if Azul wanted it for some reason. Yet when he saw the place himself… maybe Azul got into an argument with the Prefect and was trying to be petty? There had to be a reason why Azul was interested in such a rundown place.

So Pluto hopped the gate, because he’s just the coolest like that, especially with how he landed perfectly and didn’t trip at all. Then he walked up to Ramshackle’s front door. With how quiet things were, he figured its occupants were out. The Prefect did always attract attention with how noisy their familiar is. Though just in case, he gave the door a few knocks.

“Coming!” A voice shouted from inside, startling Pluto. He tried to calculate if he should stay or flee. No, he’d stay. He can scam a man out of his own pants, no need to worry! He’s got this.

“Oh, hello?” The Prefect answered the door, confused as she didn’t seem to recognize him. The lack of recognition should have been reasonable, but it still irked him. He’s the great Pluto Observer! Everyone should know him!

“Hey babe-“ Pluto started to greet, the nickname coming out of him before he could remind himself he doesn’t have a product to shill at the moment. That this wasn’t quite the right time to go into hustler talk.

“Babe? My name is Bobo Mycelind, not Babe.” Bobo frowned as she cut him off. She wasn’t sure if he was trying to be too friendly or if people had misheard her name somehow.

Pluto paused then let out a little chuckle.

“Bobo? As in Bobo the clown?”

“You’re the prefect, right? I’m Pluto Observer. I heard you nearly lost Ramshackle. Well I happen to know some glyphs in order to make sure this building can never be swindled out of your hands ever again! I just need to take a looksie inside to see how many glyphs I’ll need to prepare. Along with how much I should offer you in such a deal!” Pluto knew he was spewing a bunch of bull. Usually he’d be more careful, make it actually sound reasonable, but might as well test the supposed magicless human’s knowledge.

“…..That doesn’t really make any sense to me.” Bobo sighed quietly, but took a step aside, inviting him in. Which Pluto accepted, quickly striding in before she could change her mind. Bobo followed him as he inspected the insides.

“I should tell you that I haven’t even cleaned out all the rooms yet. There’s still some packed with random junk. Stuff that I can’t simply toss as it’s college property.” Bobo continued to talk. Pluto hummed in response as his mind raced with what hidden yet valuable items must be stored here. That had to be the reason for Azul’s interest in the dorm! There’s no other rea-

“Ah, watch that step!” Bobo suddenly pulled Pluto backwards by his elbow, causing him to awkwardly bump into her. His foot remained in the air as he looked at the stairs he had been going up. Bobo moved to walk beside him, jumping a step and silently encouraging him to do so too.

“I don’t trust that it’s safe enough to support us. It groans awfully whenever Grim steps on it.” Bobo explained. Pluto, his elbow now released as he jumped the step, threw an arm around her shoulders.

“Thanks Bae! You know, for an extra fee I could fix it up for you.” Pluto offered. Though he had no plans of actually doing so. Getting her to like him more may actually get her to spill some secrets.

“Bobo, not Bae.” Bobo huffed as she briefly eyed his hand. “The upstairs is dustier than downstairs. I’ve gotten my and Grim’s bedroom clean along with the bathrooms. I’ve been trying to focus on cleaning the main floor first. As in regards to fixing that step… there’s a lot of things needing fixing.”

“Well… that’ll add more to the costs… but I could make it favor. You wouldn’t mind owing me a favor, right cutie?” Pluto even winked at the end. With how naively she let him enter, surely she won’t even think over what he may have her do in order to pay him back. The prefect position is supposedly higher than the housewardens. Could she possibly demote Azul from being housewarden?

“Oh you are calling me nicknames.” Bobo sighed, having briefly blushed. “I don’t mind working away at this by myself. I doubt I could afford to pay whatever price you set. Plus I prefer that what favor you’ll expect from me to be explained before I agree. Do you mind telling me more about glyphs? I haven’t reached that topic yet.”

Pluto snickered, hoping to brush all that away by distracting her.

“You like being called cutie?” He teased. Which caused Bobo to walk a bit faster so his arm was no longer around her. She crossed her arms as she tilted her head up.

“I know I’m cute. I don’t actually want to be called that though.” Bobo looked over her shoulder at him. Pluto held back a laugh, not expecting such a prideful response.

“Aww, well aren’t you a dear?” Pluto joked.

“Don’t call me that either.” She shook her head, giving an exasperated look. “I rather you just call me Mycelind.”

���Last names? How cold. Here I was thinking you could call me by my first!” Pluto continued to tease. Though he was realizing he needed to make up an excuse to check those locked storage rooms Bobo hadn’t let him enter. Who cares if they were too dusty? He needed to know what goods were hiding inside!

“You’ll call me Mycelind, Pluto.” Bobo teased, smirking ever so slightly.

“Oh so that’s how it’s going to be, sugar?” With dramatic flourishes, Pluto pouted as he crossed his arms. Bobo’s face twisted, almost into amusement before swerving into discomfort.

“As in the ingredient? No, you are not calling me that.” Bobo stopped walking, having finished letting Pluto glance into rooms she deemed dust-less enough to safely view. This place really was a dump. Pluto decided to mentally note how she hated being called “sugar”, but for now he still had to play into her good graces to get what he wanted.

“Well… I have a rough idea of what all I need for the glyphs, but to make sure there’s nothing that’ll interfere with them, I’m going to have to look through those storage rooms.” Pluto lied as he started leading the way back downstairs. Bobo followed after him with a frown.

“I think first I’ll look into glyphs myself before I consider letting you take a look in those rooms. Plus I don’t want to risk you sneezing to death on all that dust. So it’ll have to wait until I clean them out. Though again, I doubt I could afford the price and I simply can’t save up for it.” Bobo responded. Pluto kept himself from grumbling.

“Watch that step!” Bobo shouted, having realized Pluto didn’t remember to avoid that one step of the stairs. Yet Pluto couldn’t catch himself in time nor was she following closely enough to grab him. Pluto’s mind blanked as his foot went straight through the wood like as if it was wet paper.

To Pluto’s relief, he and Bobo were able to free his foot and get him safely to the Ramshackle’s lounge. Bobo had him sit on the couch before kneeling to check for any splinters. Which felt a little silly as Pluto was certain he’d know if a splinter had pricked him.

“Really, I’m fine. Sweetie, why don’t I help you clean those storage rooms? As a way to repay you for your unneeded concerns along with… being friends?” Hah, Ace can’t keep him out of the group if the Prefect brings him into it! While cleaning sucks, he’d get to examine every item personally while also having the perfect chance to pocket all the valuable stuff!

Bobo determined his foot was fine after plucking a shard of wood off of his shoe along with lifting his pants leg just to make sure. She hated that he had gotten into the risk of injury simply because she thought he’d remember which step. How absolutely negligent of her! She was about to stand up and discard the wood shard into a trash bin but froze at Pluto’s newest nickname.

“You want to be my friend?” Bobo asked as she forced herself to stand up and face him. She crossed her hands in front of her, keeping the wood shard inbetween them. She ignored how warm her face felt, the nickname meant nothing so it’s silly to let herself react to it!

Pluto smirked as he saw how red her cheeks became.

“Yeah, you’re real kind, sweetie.” Pluto smirk grew as she flushed more.

“Is that why you came to my dorm with such a ridiculous proposal? You share the same confusion Azul seems to have. I don’t own Ramshackle, it belongs to the college. It’s currently in my care I suppose, but no way do I have legal rights to it. I don’t need glyphs or anything to protect it, if anything I feel I proved myself capable of keeping it just fine. Now answer me this, do you really want to be my friend or did you hear how I almost lost Ramshackle to Azul and now you think you can swindle it away from me by approaching me when I’m all alone, sweetie?” Bobo glared.

Pluto gaped then jumped to his feet. He expected her to step back as he pointed his finger at her accusingly. But she stood her ground, thus he ended up jabbing his pointer finger into her chest.

“What do you mean?! Are you saying despite believing you don’t own this place, you still entered some sort of deal for Azul to take it?!” Pluto yelled.

“I saw no downsides to it. Plus with what Crowley told me in regards to the situation, I believe I had the right to offer its ownership.” Bobo calmly responded, still glaring at him.

“No downsides?! What were you going to do if you did lose Ramshackle?!” Pluto wondered if he should lower his hand, it was weird standing like this, but if she’s not moving then he isn’t either!

“Oh please,” She rolled her eyes, “I still think the school infirmary would be a better place to stay at. Maybe Crowley would find someplace that doesn’t have holes in the roof. Why I rather stay in the mines than this place!” Bobo slightly lost her cool and slapped Pluto’s hand away.

Pluto instinctively rubbed the slapped appendage before realizing he was doing so and dropped his hands. Bobo took in a couple of breaths to regain her cool.

“This isn’t worth discussing. I don’t believe you actually have any good intentions towards me. I suggest you leave and don’t return to Ramshackle before I throw you out myself.” Bobo stated.

“…like as if a squirt like you could even lift me.” Pluto grumbled as he shuffled past, slowly walking out, trying to buy time to think of something.

“How about I clean for free in or-“ Pluto tried just to cut himself off with a yelp. Bobo lifted him into her arms, bridal carry, and walked to the entrance.

“You just want to try swiping whatever you can pawn, don’t you? Don’t ever approach Ramshackle ever again.” Bobo declared as she walked out of the dorm building. Much to Pluto’s embarrassment, she continued to carry him until reaching the gate. Which he winced as she swung open the squealing gate door. Then she placed him back on his feet before slamming the gate closed. Bobo casted him one last glare before heading back inside.

Pluto grumbled to himself, at least glad no one was around to see him being carried. With her height, it must have looked ridiculous. Today must just be a slow day, that’s all. He botched it up, but that’s what he gets for rushing in without a plan. Whatever, it seemed like his rival wouldn’t be taking Ramshackle over.

This is pointing out to me another element that I might relate to Kalim with but I hate that element thus I don’t like Kalim-

The idea that there’s a lot of basic things he may not know how to do but no one’s willing to teach him.

There’s things I want to know how to do but when I try to ask how to do it, the most common answer I get is “it wasn’t as easy to do back in my day”. So I guess I have to figure it out myself and I don’t even get to hear how they figured it out back then?!

The always happy act is something that interests me as a character trait, but I guess there’s a few too many upsettingly relatable things about Kalim that I rather ignore him.

Hearing the more analyzed and/or the more depth about Kalim’s character is something I feel like I need to hear or I’m going to keep trying to label him as annoying idiot.

Can we please talk about how tone deaf and horribly ableist a lot of Kalim's fandom characterisation is 😭

Like he's portrayed as a complete incompetent moron, an utterly useless idiot because... he doesn't get good grades or understand schoolwork, he misreads social cues/situations, he's happy all the time, and he can't do certain things by himself.

Why is it so hard to understand that your that your academic performance or understanding has nothing to do with how smart you are? And neither is your ability to read social situations. I don't even need to get started on not being able to do things yourself because that applies to so many disabilities and disabled people are thought of as stupid or useless or both.

And of course, there's the idea he's an utterly naive dumbwit who can't sense danger or has any worry about it. Have you. Have you not heard of... acting. Or trying to push the fear down. Which I think Kalim does.

He has literally talked about how people have tried to assassinate him. He has literally been poisoned. He has experienced that danger. He is afraid. He doesn't allow anyone but Jamil to make his food. That's a pretty good sign, considering he was, again, poisoned.

Leave Kalim alone please 😭
