I donât have any words right now for whatâs happened. Where in the fuck do we go from here?
I don't know. I really, truly don't know. We can't sugarcoat how bad things are going to get, and we can't pre-emptively give into it anyway. This is going to be an unprecedented time in American history (if, sadly, not world history) and the forces conspiring to make you obey will gain much of their power from you doing so in advance, without a struggle. It seems fair to say that America as it has always been historically constituted is over, and may not return in our lifetimes, but we also do not know that for a fact. If nothing else, the fascists will find it very hard to cancel competitive elections, and we cannot sit back, throw up our hands, conclude that voting is clearly meaningless, and let them do that. There are a lot of other things that we need to do, but that's one.
There are various postmortems to be written and nits to pick, but Harris was thrown into an impossible situation and did the best she could in 100 days. Even her critics agree she ran a pretty much flawless campaign. But this country simply decided that a well-qualified black woman could not be preferred over the most manifestly and flagrantly unfit degenerate to ever occupy the office. They decided this for many reasons, not least because large swathes of the country now live in curated misinformation bubbles that, under Government Czar Musk, will only get much, much worse. They were helped by the cowardice and complicity of the "mainstream media" that could have ended Trump's career exactly like they did to Biden after the first debate, but chose to preserve the profits of their billionaire oligarch owners and did not do so, giving Trump the benefit of the doubt and normalization at every turn. They also hounded Biden relentlessly over the four years of his presidency, never reported on the good things he did, and drove him to the historically bad approval ratings lows for a president who was by any metric, quite successful (and will quite possibly be our last ordinary American president for a very long time). Along with the searingly ingrained racism and misogyny and misinformation, Harris could not overcome that.
Democrats clearly had a messaging problem, but it's also true that the country, quite simply, does not care about "democracy" when the economy is perceived to be at stake. Not to over-egg the Hitler parallels, but yeah. This is how Hitler returned to power in 1933 -- on the backs of widespread economic collapse of the Weimar Republic; voters decided they just didn't care about the overtly fascist stuff, which he then proceeded to you know, do with genocidal vigor. Except the American economy in this case was actually doing well, which makes it even more baffling and indefensible. Enough people simply memory-holed Trump's crimes (aided at every turn by SCOTUS, Mitch McConnell not convicting him after January 6, Merrick Garland being far too slow and timid, the corporate media), liked the racist fascist behavior or felt that it wasn't a dealbreaker, and decided that in this election, he was the "change" candidate. It's insane by any metric, but that's what happened.
The country is deeply sick. We do not know what will happen. It's going to get bad. Barring a miracle, we will not have federalized abortion rights again in my lifetime, and there will be widespread attacks on public health, women's rights, immigrants, transgender people, and other vulnerable people. Even and especially the ones who voted for Trump. Never Thought Leopard Would Eat My Face, etc. Alito and Thomas will swiftly step down and allow their seats to be replaced by 40-year old wingnuts hand-selected from the worst the Federalist Society has to offer. SCOTUS is gone for the next generation at least. There is very little prospect of it being ever fixed in the foreseeable future.
Trump will never face a scintilla of consequences for his previous crimes; all the open federal cases will be closed as soon as he takes office and fires Jack Smith. The best we can hope for is that he dies in office, but then we get Vance and the cadre of alt-right techno billionaires ruled directly from the Kremlin. Putin is celebrating this morning and with good reason; he's gotten everything he wants. Trump will egg on Netanyahu in Gaza and abandon Ukraine. Democracy across the world will remain even more fragile and badly under threat. Authoritarians will be empowered and American withdrawal from international systems will percolate in very dangerous ways that cannot and will not be fixed in the short run. I really hope all the leftists who celebrate this as the "defeat of the genocide candidate" will enjoy all the genocide and suffering that's about to come. And yes, I do think the Israel-Palestine war fucked us in a large way. Jewish voters perceived the Democrats as insufficiently pro-Israel due to the presence of far-left antisemitism, even as the far left attacked the Democrats relentlessly and never targeted the Republicans. Arab voters abandoned them, possibly deservedly. What would have happened without the war? We don't know. You get the historical period that you get. Netanyahu and Trump can now do anything they want. Hope it was worth it.
As I said, I can't sugarcoat it. We are going to be paying for this in some form for the next decade, and probably longer. I'm not as absolutely shattered as I was in 2016, but I am much, much angrier. We all thought, we all hoped, America was better than this. It isn't. That, however, is something that has also happened before. What we decide to do next will shape how the next chapter unfolds.
This would be a great time to stock up on needed medicines, renew your passport online, and anything else you need to do in preparation for next year. Many of us simply do not have the wherewithal, whether financial or otherwise, to leave the country. I don't know what will happen with me. I don't know what will happen to any of us. This was utterly avoidable and yet, America didn't want to avoid it. At some point, there's nothing else you can do. You can point to media cronyism, Russian influence, etc etc., but the fact that two of the most qualified presidential candidates who happened to be women have now lost to Trump twice makes it unavoidable. The virulent rightward shift of young men (of all races) in particular paints a grim picture as to how the reactionary misogyny of the 21st century is going to essentially undo most of the progress for social and gender equality in the 20th. The patriarchy has been a problem for most of human history. Doesn't really seem like it's going to change.
The end result of this, however grim: we're still here. We are still living within our communities. If (and this is a big if) Democrats can retake the House, they can put some checks on the process for the next two years. At this point, we are in full-out buying-time, trying-to-prevent-the worst mode. We could have continued fixing things, but we won't be doing that. We will only be trying to preserve ourselves and our friends and our smaller spheres of influence. It sounds very trite to say that we have to have courage, but we do. There's not much else.
It's going to be an awful winter. We have two and a half months to see this coming and know how bad it's going to be, and... yeah. I don't know how soon the buyer's remorse will inevitably set in, but it will. Tough luck, people. You voted for him. You get the country that you decide to have. But the rest of us are also here, and what Gandalf says is still true. We wish the Ring had never come to us, we wish none of this had happened, but we still have to decide what to do with the time that is given to us.
I don't have a lot more. I'll probably be logging off for a while. I don't need to look at the internet for.... yeah, a long time. (Will I do it anyway? Probably.) I don't know what else to leave you with, aside from again:
Do not obey in advance. Do not act as if everything is foreordained and set in stone. Fascist regimes end. They always do. We are going to have to figure out how, and it will suck shit, but the alternative is worse.
Take care of yourselves. I love you.

âHey, sorry, I didn´t mean to scare youâ The tall teen said to you with a soft smile on his face, you had not noticed he had been talking to you for the past minutes, too deep into your own thoughts about how some hours ago Agatha had been released from Wandaâs spell, some hours ago in which Agatha had been thinking that you were her wife, it looked like the older witch did not remember any of the past three years, and Agatha not remembering anything made you feel a pang of sadness to your heart, you had wished at least that during the moments she had been nice and caring towards you she would be able to remember something.
You were going to miss so much the times in which she actually seemed to care about you, and you felt guilty for that, you knew very well Agatha did not like you like that, she just tolerated you because you have proven to her your loyalty, but it had never been enough and would never be.
âItâs alright, I am sorry, I am not so used to people touching me out of nowhereâ You replied back at him while you made sure the cups and the table were in order, the teen in front of you tilted his head to the side a little and looked at you with curious eyes.
âWhat did you ask me again? Sorryâ You asked him again, clearing your throat a little, it was a little bit uncomfortable to be under someone elseâs gaze, you were also letting him know that he could ask again whatever he had inquired.
âOh yes! I was just asking how come you were living here with Agatha while she was under the spell and you wereâŚnotâ He asked you carefully, he could see that whatever had happened was a touchy subject for you.
He still remembered the way Agatha had told you how she thought you had disappeared out of her life for real half an hour ago and then she just left the hall and went upstairs to do god knows what, you had been kind enough to help him untie him out of the rope and helped him to get out of the closet.
âThank you by the way, for untying meâ He said chucking, he could see you were kind and nice, and was really curious about what you were doing with Agatha.
You stopped to think about the past three years and about 7 months, the way Wanda had trapped you under her mind control, giving you the role of Agnesâ wife, you remembered everything perfectly because even from the first 4 months of just watching everything from the inside as if you were on a tv show and being controlled by Wandaâs mind, you were also conscious, living everything without actually having a chance to do something, it had been a weird experience, but what was also one of the weirdest things, was that you had not felt pain nor anything unlike the other residents of âWestviewâ that had claimed they were terrorized, you had not felt any type of pain during the months you were controlled, that had been what you assumed to be the first months, because one day you just woke up and what shocked you was that you actually were able to move as you wanted.
The teen cleared his throat softly and you came back to the present again, ready to answer his question.
âWell, I am not sure, I mean, one day I woke up not being able to control myself, following Wandaâs schedule, playing the role she had given to me which had been being Agnesâ wifeâ You felt your face getting warmer at the mention of your role.
âAnd then suddenly I was able to move on my own, I was able to actually went where I wanted, I donât know. Then Agnes, or well, Agatha came to me to tell me she had released me from Wandaâs mind control and that I was in debt with her, so she âhiredâ me to pay my debt to her with some things, so I just stayed, I felt like I really had a debt with her, you know?â You were such a liar, you knew very well you had stayed because you liked so much the older witch that you wanted to get her approval and get her to like you, so you stayed with her to help her and do whatever she had wanted.
âThen you know, Wandaâs hex was destroyed, I am not sure how and I still donât know, but the next day Agatha seemed to be a completely different person and claimed to be named Agnes, and well, I couldnât let her alone, you know? She needed help, I helped her the way I couldâ
You brushed your shoulders trying to act nonchalant, you just hoped he believed you, because you had stayed with her because of the feelings you had developed for Agatha, and when she actually thought you were her wife and the way she actually treated you or her character âAgnesâ had treated you had made you fell harder for the older woman, even though you always tried and made sure not to cross any boundaries because you were aware that was not what Agatha had wanted and you wanted to actually respect her, you never initiated any type of physical contact, she would only hug you and give you soft kisses from time to time, or more like, Agnes had given them to you, but you never actually took advantage of that, you always made sure she was fine, listening to her, to the different ideas and plots her mind had created, always making sure she was fine.
The dark-haired boy nodded slowly and seemed to be analyzing you, so in order for him to stop looking at you so weird you decided to change the subject.
âI also wanted to make sure SeĂąor Scratchy would be fineâ You told him and went towards one of the couches in the living room to take the fluffy bunny in your arms, bringing him close to the teen so he could see the bunny closer.
âHe is so sweet; can I pet him?â He asked you and you sighed, relieved that he seemed to have forgotten the subject of how you knew Agatha, you nodded and passed the bunny over to him after caressing his little ears.
âHe is really sweet, never bites, and he loves to snuggle against peopleâ You proudly said remembering all the times you had spent at night on the couch hugging the bunny closer to you or the times when you had been sad and cried alone laying on the biggest couch and feeling the bunny climbing up and snuggling against your arms, you would always hug him and pet him lovingly.
âHe would be an amazing service bunnyâ You jokingly said and the teen laughed, he was petting his ears and saying how cute the bunny was.
You heard footsteps coming from the stairs and quickly straightened yourself, brushing your hair with your hands to make sure you looked decent for Agatha, you did not notice the teen saw the way you were making sure you looked fine, and he internally laughed, he was sure you liked the older woman but would not comment about it.
Agatha came down wearing sunglasses and a hat, her style always so elegant and so beautiful, she really knew how to dress, you quickly looked back at your clothes, hoping they were enough.
âI see you made yourself useful and helped our guest hereâ She said to you while eying the teen, her eyes peeking from the top of her sunglasses.
You tried to ignore the comment and just nodded; the teen looked back at you with his eyebrows furrowed together.
âSo, are we going to gather our coven?â The teen asked out loud and you went to take Mr.Scratchy from his arms, taking the bunny carefully and making sure the little fluffy ball knew how good he was, Agatha had put her glasses back and thought no one was watching her, so she decided to eye you while you were entertained petting the little bunny, she felt her heart skipping  a beat at the sight, she had always loved the way you were so gentle not only with Mr.Scratchy but with animals in general, you were always so kind that it actually started to make her feel things, which was absurd, because how could someone like you actually make her feel something, it was obviously the fake memories Wanda had implanted on her head, there was no other explanation, she huffed and quickly went to look back at the teen.
âYeah, whatever, letâs meet our covenâ Agatha said with feigned excitement, she turned around and you quickly went to place Mr.Scratchy on the carpet, the teen turned himself around and looked at you with a smile.
âYou can help me choose the music weâll play in the car, I have a variety of songs in my playlist and I also have cdâs if you prefer themâ The dark-haired boy said with excitement, and you felt happy to be included in what seemed to be really serious, you came to stand next to the teen when Agatha quickly turned herself with a frown on her face and walked back towards the two of you.
âWhoa, whoa, wait a minute, who told you she could come?â The older witch had felt suddenly a wave of worry taking over her, you were not supposed to be part of that, how would you even be safe? You were not even a witch! She pushed really hard the feeling away and again said to herself it was only the fake memories and fake feelings Wanda had planted in her.
âBut I can helpâ You said eagerly, trying to let her know you would be useful, trying to get her approval one more time.
Agatha felt conflicted, she should not even care about you wanting to come, the more the better, if someone died on the road, no one would care! Everyone had to carry on, and continue to keep on walking down the road, but still, deep down, if something really happened to you, she was not sure what could happen, Agatha did not even want to actually think of something happening to you, but why did she care so much? You were no one to her.
âYou are only going to slow us downâ Agatha replied looking at you with her arms crossed on her chest, trying to see if maybe you would just agree on not going.
âNo wait, I can be useful, you know? I can help you, all of you, just like I have been helpingâ You said hopeful, trying so hard to convince Agatha to let you join them, you saw the way she pursed her lips and suddenly you felt the same way you used to feel all those months you had passed with her again during Wandaâs hex, your mind going for a moment back to the past, the way she would say a comment that would make you feel bad or how she looked at you when you were too pushy on something, so you quickly lowered your gaze to look at the floor.
Agatha was thinking, too much, many different thoughts coming and going, if she let you go, she would be risking your life, if not many witches survived the road, what could happen to you? You could die and then, she would never get to see you again, her heart was beating so loud she was afraid the teen or you could actually hear her beating heart.
But now that the Salem seven were also behind her, she was powerless, and had no ways to actually do something if you were magically attacked, what would she be able to do?
âYou are not even a witchâ The way Agatha said that to you, with so much disdain, and making you feel less and not enough made you feel a pang of pain in your heart, you were not used to her mean comments anymore, sure when Wanda was still around and you were helping Agatha the comments and mean actions were common, but during those three years she had been âAgnesâ you had not received any of those, so even now that you were aware and you knew she would make comments like that again, still it shocked you to hear them actually coming from her mouth, hearing them from the woman you loved so much made you want to cry.
Agatha noticed the way your shoulders tensed, and saw the way for a moment an expression full of pain and disappointment was visible on your face, you quickly went to hide and tried to compose yourself, you thought no one would notice it, but she did, you had been so many years with her that it was something she had picked up from you from the start, your small antics that made you so special, but she was not going to say anything about that.
The teen could not actually believe how even after those years that you had been there taking care of her, Agatha still could treat you like that! It was visible for him that you were head over heels for that woman and yet you tolerated the way she spoke to you, he felt bad for you but also, he did not want to intrude.
The blue-eyed witch felt like she did not know what to do, the only logical way for her to make you not go was the way she knew, the way she was used to, and that was how she was acting, but the sad look on your face and how you were not even looking at her made her for a second think twice what she was doing.
âFine! Whatever but if you die I am not making a funeralâ Agatha quickly said and rolled her eyes turning herself around to start walking to the door, she hated feeling nervous and actually worried for someone else, she had been alone for centuries, never having to look after some else, only looking after her, and then you came, with your sweet smile, kind words and actions, making sure she had what she needed and always tending for her needs, her sweet y/n, but there was no way, you had to know any of that.
Slowly you lifted your head to look at the teen and finally the two of you smiled, you tried to ignore Agathaâs comment, she always said something like that, so you tried not to take it personally, but still it hurt you to hear that.
You realized Agatha had already stepped out of the house.
âWe better hurry, Agatha doesnât like waiting for too longâ You said to him and he nodded instantly, the two of you went out and you quickly locked the door, starting to walk behind the teen, following him, you saw Agatha standing next to the car looking at her reflection on the window.
The teen went quickly to open the doors and he went to enter the car to start the engine.
After making sure the three of you were already inside the car the teen smiled at you through the mirror.
âDo you want to play some music?â He inquired while turning the engine on and you were about to say yes but noticed the way Agatha was looking at you through the mirror as well, she had her eyes frowned and decided not to annoy her.
âNo, uhm, itâs alright, I mean, whatever you want, donât worryâ You replied back and went to look through the window, trying to avoid their gazes, the teen did not say anything else and started to drive slowly waiting for Agatha to give instructions, but Agatha was too immersed looking at you through the mirror, she was analyzing your expression, the way you seem not to want to cause her any trouble, even going against your own wishes, how could you put her first? Your beautiful face looking at the window, looking at the street and the houses you were passing through, how could you make her feel things she had not felt in centuries?
âWhere to Agatha?â The boy asked her directly and she quickly turned her head to look at him.
âKeep driving Iâll tell you when to turn and where to stopâ She announced and looked at the path ahead, during the ride Agatha could not keep her eyes off you, looking at you through the mirror, and feeling her heart beat faster at the way your expression tended to change, she was still worried, how would she be able to make sure nothing happened to you?
When you were about to turn your head to look at the other side Agatha quickly turned to look at the other direction so that you would not notice she had been looking at you.
âWait, stop! You already passed the shop!â Agatha quickly said and the teen had to abruptly stop.
âOh my godâ He said grabbing with a strong grip the steering wheel.
âAre you alright?â The teen asked while looking at you through the mirror and when Agatha saw the way he looked worried she turned her head hastily to look at you, you were grabbing your seatbelt with both of your hands and you just nodded, she sighed in relief seeing you had not hurt yourself.
âWho taught you how to drive?â Agatha said with an annoyed look on her face after the teen made sure to park where the shop was located a few meters behind and finally went to unlock the door to get out of the car.Â
The boy and you looked at each other still inside the car, Agatha was already outside walking towards the entrance of the building.
âIs she serious?â The dark-haired boy asked you directly and you only laughed a little bit while slowly nodding.
âDonât mind her, she doesnât mean itâ You said to him and you proceeded to also get out of the car, the teen did the same and the two of you started to walk alongside towards the waiting older witch.
âTook you long enoughâ Agatha commented while accommodating her hat.

Getting to know Lilia had been interesting to say the least, the interaction with her made you aware of how Agatha was perceived amongst the other witches, and got you thinking about her and her actions, for you it was not possible that Agatha could be really that selfish right? Could it be true every single thing that was said about her? Maybe other people did not like it, but for you she was just maybe, misunderstood, she was smart, amazing, a beautiful woman, or maybe, just maybe was your heart dictating your brain what to think.
Agatha had been carefully watching you whenever Lilia said something about her, whenever Lilia reminded her of what other witches thought about her, her past hunting her again, and the way you seemed to be so deep in thought about everything you have heard, made her heart ache with pain, she did not want you to believe all of those things, she did not want you to become afraid of her, but just as she had never actually care for someone in so much time, she didn´t know what to do.
âSo, weâre at the mall, where to?â The teen asked with a smile on his face, you stopped walking and waited for Agatha to give instructions.
âJust follow me, it is not too far awayâ The blue-eyed witch said while starting to walk again, Billy looked at you and you only shrugged your shoulders, the two of you started to follow Agatha from behind.
After entering a shop on the second floor you frowned, where were they supposed to find a witch in there? You were about to ask the teen when you felt someone pushing you hard and losing your balance you fell to the floor, your hand colliding first on the cold floor making you wince in pain, Agatha quickly noticed that and quickly walked closer to you, she got worried thinking you had hurt yourself but when you started to get up the floor so quickly she did not get time to act as if she was not looking carefully at you, you stood up and were surprised to see Agatha standing there in front of you, frowning you sent her a questioning look and Agatha blinked several times before realizing what she was doing and without saying anything she turned herself around to look for the teen and the witch that had tackled him, her heart beating so fast against her chest, the blue-eyed witch cleared her throat and waited for the other witch to just get fired.
You did not understand what had just happened, and Agathaâs action or whatever she had done made you confused, what had just happened?
Agatha was shaken, she could not believe she had acted on impulse, but the thought of you getting hurt made her heart feel a deep feeling of pain and fear, why did she care so much? You were nothing! Not even a witch who she could drain the powers from, you were a mortal, and that was what also made her feel even more afraid, ignoring always could help, at least thatâs what she thought would work.
You were not sure what the teen and Agatha were saying to the shorter woman, you were not interested if you were honest, too deep in your own thoughts, why had Agatha gotten closer to you? Did she want to make sure you were not hurt? For a second you heard jumped a bit, feeling warm at the mere thought of Agatha caring about you, but then you remembered how three years ago you had gotten hurt because she had got mad and she did not even turn herself around to take a look at you. You remembered that day very clearly and it made you shiver, she had been mad that day, mad because her plan was not working, mad because she couldnât understand how Wanda had created everything from scratch, how she had brought her dead husband back or how she even created her two children! She was not even close to what she wanted and your only error had been to ask if she needed help.
You winced at the memory of her words, the way she had turned herself around so fast you were afraid she would hurt herself.
âHow are you going to help me? You donât even have powers, you are not even useful, you canât get the information I have already told you to get, if you want to help, you will leaveâ Agatha had said to you and you had felt the way the tears started to fall down your face.
âYou canât be serious, I am the one who is stressed, you are fine here! I released you from the spell, you are not suffering, I gave you a chance to help me, and you are crying?â You could see Agatha getting angrier and the way her eyes started to grow purple made you afraid.
âWhy won´t you leave? I said leave!â Agatha had yelled and the next thing you knew, you had been thrown out of the room, colliding against the wall and falling onto the hard wooden floor with a hard thud, it had hurt, but it was not a unbearable pain, you had slowly stood up groaning a little and Agatha just looked at you with her eyes widened, but quickly turned herself around and walked out of the house, leaving you alone in there, you had felt awful, you wanted to think she had not made it on purpose, you had wanted to convince yourself that she had done it without thinking twice, always listening to your heart instead of your brain, always making excuses for her, and that was what ruined you, always excusing everything she said and did, loving her was sometimes hard, but you couldnât stop the feeling.
âAre you hungry?â A hand on your shoulder made you jump slightly taking you back to the present, you blinked several times only to realize you were on the food court of the mall, when had you gotten there?Â
âNot reallyâ You answered the teen and smiled at him, he nodded and when you saw Agatha you noticed she was looking at you again with that unreadable expression on her face, she quickly lifted her hand to scratch her eyebrow slightly and turned herself around to walk towards a free table to seat there. The way you always jumped slightly whenever someone touch you out of nowhere made her also feel worried, what had happened to you? She really wanted to know but she did not have the courage to ask you out loud.
Agathaâs gaze made you feel a little bit weirded out because, she had never looked at you that way, was she analyzing you? thinking you were just a bother? You had many ideas running through your head, so many bad things that she could be thinking about you so you decided to just take your phone out to start scrolling whatever you could find.
You were trying so hard to focus on something else trying not to mind Agatha and when the teen asked what she wanted to eat and the two of them went to order their food you decided to take that little time to go to the nearest bathroom to wash your face. You still couldnât understand why Agatha was looking at you in such a weird way, you never knew what she could be thinking or what her next move could be, so you only hoped for the best, feeling the cold water on your face relaxed you a little, you tried to lessen the tension on your shoulders and finally when you dried your face you decided it was time to go back to the two people you had come with, what you had not expecting was Agatha and the teen standing there in front of the table you had chosen and looking everywhere around the place, Agatha seemed to be tense, the way her shoulders seemed to tense just as she was speaking to the teen as if she was scolding him but you were not sure why.
Slowly you made your way to them, trying not to interrupt the conversation they were having in order not to bother Agatha, you did not want to make her angry at you.
After making sure you were centimeters away from them, you were able to hear what was the older witch and the teen talking about.
âYou could have made sure she stayed here! Why couldnât you watch where she went to?â Agatha sounded pissed but you were not understanding what was going on.
âI went with you to pay for the food! How was I supposed to know she would be leaving?â The teen had lifted his hands up in the air, not knowing what to do.
You cleared your throat to announce yourself and the two of them quickly turned themselves to look at you, when Agatha saw you, she felt relieved, she had felt her heart would stop at any minute trying to figure out where had you gone or if you had finally decided you wanted to leave her and be free, she had thought the worst, had you finally realized she was not a good person? That she was actually a wicthkiller and she was not capable of loving? She almost cried feeling desperate not knowing where you had gone, and seeing you there back again in front of her, made her feel at peace, she had wanted to hug you but again, she suppressed that feeling and only sighed.
âYou know you could have said where you were going?â Agatha quickly commented while turning around to finally take a seat, she started to eat her corndog nonchalantly as if she had not just blamed the teen for losing you out if their sight and almost crying at the thought of you leaving, the teen was trying so hard not to laugh so he took the seat next to Agatha and brought the cup he had on the table to his lips, covering his grin.
You did not understand what had just happened or why she seemed so annoyed that you had left for some minutes, so deciding not to comment nor say anything you sat down on the seat in front of Agatha and the teen.
The older witch started to eat nonchalantly as if nothing had happened and the teen proceeded to do the same, you did not find anything to do so you just decided to keep doing what you had been doing on your phone, there was not much to do, you still had to wait for them to finish eating and then you had to still look for the other witches to complete the coven.
Your mind wandered back to a few hours ago, when you had heard Lilia saying random names of tarot cards, you had studied a little bit of tarot a while ago, and from what you knew, the first card Lilia had said out of nowhere had been Ace of cups, what did you remember about ace of cups? It had to do with new beginnings, right? Something about new relationships, what else? A card alone could have many different meanings, cards also have to be paired to have a more specific meaning, right? What other cards had Lilia said? Six of cups and two of cups, the meaning could also depend on the deck and also the context of course, what did you remember about the six of cups card?Â
It had to do with nostalgia? You tried to think harder, and yes you remembered! It also had to do with the past, in certain cases that could mean the past could come back somehow, revisiting some past memories? You were not sure, the meaning of that was the one you remembered the most, it had to do with partnership, creating a union, union of forces, could it be the coven reuniting and forming a union? You were not sure and tried not to think about it too much, you just wanted to remember what the cards could mean.
The last card Lilia had mentioned had been the lovers and that card could have just as every other tarot card a different meaning depending on the context, so it would be too risky to jump into any conclusions even though you wished deeply for that card to have a good meaning for you and a certain blue-eyed witch, Agatha noticed the way you seemed to be thinking a lot, the way you unconsciously tended to bite your lower lip while you were too focused on whatever you were thinking, it was an habit she had noticed since you started living with her when Wanda was still around, even if she never allowed herself to say it out loud, she had picked up almost all of your gestures, expressions and even antics, and could only wondered why you looked to be so worried.
The next stop all of you made was on the shop of the famous social media influencer Jennifer Kale, you felt nervous getting to be near someone as famous as her who had so many followers, the teen seemed to be excited due to his bouncy state.
âAren´t you excited?â The boy asked you with a huge smile on his face, you nodded slightly letting him know that you were feeling the same, Agatha eyed you a little, she was walking behind you and noticed you shifting a little, showing that you were feeling nervous, it was something you used to do all the time when feeling stressed or nervous, moving your legs a little or passing your hands various times through your hair to soothe yourself, during those three years she would caress your hair a little to help you feel at ease, but right now, she could not get herself to do it .
You still did not understand why Agatha kept staring at you with such a weird look that you did not understand, so you only decided not to engage too much into their conversation with Jennifer, and only stood next to the teen.
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
The way Agatha had ripped the teen´s decoration to welcome the witches made you feel a little bit bad for him, but you knew Agatha was feeling stressed, you even felt stressed because you did not know what would be waiting for you on the road, and it also made you feel scared.
âHeyâ You said softly to Agatha with a frown on your face, she quickly looked back at you and felt surprised for your reaction.
âIt looked nice, he did it with his own hands, I gave him the sheets of paper and the markers, it was prettyâ Agatha blinked several times and when she saw the way you had stretched out for her to give her back the decoration Agatha did not think twice and handed it to you.
The teen was smirking and when Agatha saw him, she only rolled her eyes at him and walked into the other room, leaving you and him to keep on doing what you had planned.
âHow did you do that?â The dark-haired boy had a big smirk on his face, and you only shrugged your shoulders not understanding what he meant, so you only gave to him back what he had made and helped him to put it back on the wall.
âThat looks niceâ A voice behind you commented and you turned yourself around to look at the woman who had arrived.
âHe made itâ You replied smiling softly at the potion´s witch and she returned the smile, even if you had not spoked with her that much, she could see you were nice.
âThank you for comingâ The boy looked at her with a big smile. Lilia arrived secondly and you greeted her happily, waving your hand at her, she did the same to you and the boy offered them a snack, you were not sure where he had gotten them, but decided not to ask, Agatha could not have given them to him, right?
âHiâ The woman with the red strands of hair arrived, she had her hands on her pockets and you smiled at her as well.
âSorry for tackling youâ Alice said to the teen and then looked at you.
âSorry for making you fall as wellâ Smiling you laughed out loud.
âIt´s alright, it was not that bad, don´t worryâ Alice nodded and shily looked at the floor.
âWhat type of witch are you?â Jennifer suddenly asked you and you quickly shook your head.
âOh, no, I am not a witch I am just here helping Agathaâ You replied with a smile on your face, the three witches looked at each other with a confused look, they did not understand how could someone be happy helping Agatha, you seemed too nice to be working with her.
Before anyone could make more questions, Agatha appeared again, entering the living room dressed completely different, she really looked amazing with that coat on her.
âAlright, let´s walk the roadâ The new coven started to walk towards Agatha´s basement and you decided to go grab Mr. Scratchy to put him in a safe place, the teen followed you to get him back onto his large cage to get him safe, you two were too concentrated on making sure the bunny was fine that you did not get to hear the conversation about them needing a green witch, you did not even notice when Agatha left the house and came back with Mrs. Davis behind her.
âAlright, we are all setâ The teen nodded and walked back to one of the couches to seat in there, you decided you would go the basement to see how else you could help Agatha with.
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
âYou canât be hereâ Agatha quickly said to you making sure the other witches were not listening, she had guided you towards the stairs of her basement to let you know you were not allowed to be in her basement, at least not right now, she did not even know what could happen and deep down the fear was taking over her again, she feared something could really happen to you, and if you got hurt, she would never forgive herself, but how could she let you know that without making a fuss of her own emotions? Without actually saying out loud what she felt?
Your confused look made you look so pretty, why were you so kind to her even after everything she had done? You were too pure and yet you wanted to help her.
âBut then how am I going to help?â You asked her, completely confused on why Agatha was telling you not be there with them, the older woman didn´t want you to get hurt, she did not even know what was going to happen and she could not risk you getting hurt.
âListen, I know you want to help, but remember, the only ones who can open the door are witches, so, you would be more helpful if you go back and stay with the boy and wait for me to give you more instructions, alright?â She was trying so hard to convince you to go back and was hoping that you would accept quickly, she was sure you still had not even noticed about the weird entities wanting to get her, and you were also completely oblivious to the fact that her former lover had also paid her a visit, so she really needed for her and her new âcovenâ to get through this as fast as possible.
âAlrightâ You said to her and Agatha felt relieved you understood quickly.
She made sure you closed the door behind you and went back to the circle.
âWhat a beautiful wife and helping wife you have Agathaâ Mrs. Davis commented, she remembered you and her being on Wanda´s hex and from time to time she also saw you going to the grocery store or just walking down the street during those past three years, of course the woman did not know what had happened.
All of the other witches hastily turned their heads to look at Agatha with a shocked expression on their faces, how was it possible that Agatha had a wife?
Agatha laughed nervously and tried to act as if that comment had not meant anything to her.
âHow did you get her to be your wife? Do you have it under some kind of spell?â Jennifer asked with a smirk on her face, how could it be possible? Agatha pursed her lips not wanting to give explanations.
âWell Jennifer, unlike you I can actually get someone who wants to be with me, not magic involved, are you jealous?â The smirk on Agatha´s face made Jennifer feel her blood boiling and Lilia sensed the tension.
âWe are not here to discuss anyone´s love life, we have a goal in common ladiesâ The Sicilian witch tried to reason with them, not wanting for a fight to start.
âYeah, maybe you can give us some tips laterâ Alice commented while raising her eyebrows and nodding slowly, Lilia turned her head to look at her with her left eyebrow raised.
âWhat?â Alice did not understand the look on the curly haired witch.
Upstairs, you went back to sit next to the boy, and looked at you with a concerned expression on his face.
âAgatha told me to come wait here with youâ He tilted his head and looked at you carefully.
âWe can play a card game in the meantime if you want, I have the Uno game card, I mean it is only the two of us, but,-â
âSure, I love board and card games, so let´s playâ He interrupted you, he loved card games and always was eager to play one with people he liked, he was sure you and him could be great friends.Â
・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś ・Ë
You looked at Agatha standing herself from the water slide, the way she had not let you get cut your skin with the knife, she had taken the teenâs hand to get the blood they needed, the way she had seen so reluctant to actually cut you with the knife when you had offered yourself, the way she quickly snapped back and said no to you, or how she had taken the glass of wine out of your hands, she had not allowed you to drink from the poisoned wine, claiming only true witches were allowed to drink, but those little actions made your heart flutter with happiness, maybe she really cared about you? Maybe she actually felt something nice towards you? You were beyond happy, finally Agatha was showing something else towards you than just annoyance and that made you feel a lot better.
Agatha felt on edge, she was making sure you would not hurt yourself, but you were making it hard for her, really hard, when she saw you with the glass on your hands, her heart beat so faster that she thought it was going to get out of her ribcage, you almost drank the wine because you had been joking around the teen, she was not sure what you two were laughing about, and her heart felt warm at the sight, but when she saw you were about to take a sip, she had lost her composure for a minute, she had not cared if the others saw her, you were more important to her than anything else or what other people could think, she ran towards you and snatched the glass from your hands, everyone looked at her with wide eyes including you and she only said something mean to cover her real feelings and her beating heart.
You and Billy had only looked at each other with a confused look and just brushed what had happened off, Agatha always did something like that.
Agatha felt he heart skip a beat not long after the wine incident, you had offered your own hand to get the blood they needed, wanting to help, always willing to help whoever was in need, and again she did not understand how you were not afraid, she was not going to cut your skin, there was no way she would hurt you like that, so she quickly took the teenâs hand and cut his skin, she gave you a quick look with a weird expression you had not seen before, Agatha was stressed, how would she be able to help you and take care of you when you were putting yourself in such dangerous situations!?
Agatha felt relieved for a moment, you had gotten out of the trial without a scratch, you were safe, you were still there in front of her, until the teen and you started to explore the path a little too far away, Alice was saying something about a way to get Mrs. Davis out of the road, to keep her safe, but Agatha was not listening anymore, her eyes squinting to look at the two of you trying to take some orange leaves from the path, but when she saw the way your foot had tripped over she felt her heart skipping a beat again, her worried face showed what she was actually feeling, not daring to hide her emotions, the blue-eyed witch ran off to where you had fallen on the mud as quick as she could.
You had been trying to reach for a weird shaped leave on the path outside the actual road to show it to the teen but the next thing you knew you were fighting to walk out of the pool of mud that seemed to engulf you more and more as the seconds passed, you felt the teen grabbing you by your hands, trying to push you back over to the road, but it was not working, he was doing everything he could until he felt a body pushing him to the side, a strong pair of arms circled your waist and in less than a second, you were released from the mud, you lifted your head to see the blue-eyed woman looking worriedly at you, she took your face in her hands, checking for any type of wounds and when you were about to throw yourself at her to hug her, she quickly turned herself around to walk back towards the other witches.
You felt confused? What had just happened, so you decided to follow Agatha from behind until you reached her when she was closer to her coven, even if you were scared of her reaction, you stretched your hand out to touch her shoulder.
âAgatha?â You asked in a small voice, and Agatha turned herself around to look at you, the way her blue eyes for a minute turned purple and the way her eyebrows were furrowed aggressively, made you feel small.
âYou should not even be here! You are not a witch! You are nothing!â Agatha quickly pressed her hand over her mouth, she had not wanted for that to happen, she had not meant what had come out of her mouth, she did not mean any of what she had said, but the way you had put yourself in danger already three times and being careless to get outside the path, that you had almost drowned in the mud made her feel even more powerless, she did not have her magic, she was useless! How would she be able to actually save you from a magical threat or even from the Salem seven! She had snapped out of fear and stress, but she did not actually mean what she had said.
Too late, she thought when she noticed your beautiful eyes getting glossy, and the way you looked down at the floor, her heart ached so much looking at you this way, she would have loved to pull you closer to her and hug you but she couldnât get herself to actually do it.
You felt guilty for missing âAgnesâ the way she treated you with respect, the way she made you feel seen and showered you with gifts and compliments, the way she hugged you when she noticed you were feeling under the weather.
Of course, you felt guilty because, âAgnesâ was not even real, it was an illusion, something Wanda had created, only playing a role she was assigned to play along, âAgnesâ had been just an illusion, a dream! A beautiful dream that you could not help but miss, it had been three years of you sharing your life with âAgnesâ and even if she was under a spell, you actually saw the cracks of her actual self, her real personality, some times it was more noticeable but the only thing that actually differed from âAgnesâ and Agatha was their way they treated you. Even if you knew the way âAgnesâ had treated you had been just something she had to play under the spell, you could not help but wish that Agatha would treat you some day like that, hoping to get her to like you at least, you wanted her to love you the same way you loved her, why had you been doomed to love the person who did not even like you at all?
Even if you had lived three years with her, it only had felt like a short period of time, you had spent so many time loving her, waiting for her to reciprocate your feelings for real, but at this point, you knew it would never happen, and you would only love her forever even if you did not want to, because, how on earth could you actually stop loving her?Â
Agatha could not stand the state you were in, she had caused this, she had hurt you, again, she did not deserve you, she would never deserve you, you would only get more and more hurt with her by your side, how could you still be there with her?
You knew Agatha very well, or at least that was what you thought, but did you really?
The three years you had passed with her, you had thought you had got to know her entirely, you had let yourself think that maybe if you were patient enough with her, gave her enough space, the space she needed, the time she needed to open up, she would realize slowly that she could trust you, and then she would magically realize you loved her completely and that you would do anything for her, hoping she would return one day your feelings, but just as you still could hear her screaming at you, you felt so stupid, still holding onto a stupid daydream and feeling that would never happen,
You loved her so much it was ruining your life and even though you knew that very well, you were sure you would not stop doing it.
Lilia noticed the tension between you and her, well, everyone noticed the tension, but no one dared to move or say something, too afraid to make everything worse, the teen was mad, he could not understand why Agatha treated you the way she did, when the only thing you wanted was to help her and make sure she was fine, you had stayed with her for three years! Taking care of her making sure she would be fine! How could Agatha be so selfish? How could she not be grateful for once in her life? He couldnât take it anymore, you were one of the kindest people he had gotten to know, and the way she treated you and said mean things to you had to change, he started to walk towards the two of you to face Agatha and help her to get some sense into that thick skull of hers, Lilia noticed the boy walking with an angry expression on his face, the way his hands had formed into fists and knew that would end up even worse, the divination witch turned her face to quickly look at Jenn and Alice and as if they had understood the two witches nodded at her and Lilia took this chance to quickly stand up and walk as fast as she could towards the fuming teen to stop him.
Lilia put her hand on his shoulder and placed herself in front of him, to stop him from going farther and looked at him straight into his eyes.
The dark-haired boy frowned, confusion all over his face, but Lilia only shook her head, as if telling him not to do what he had in mind.
âLetâs give them time, I can sense your intentions are good, but we cannot interfere, I hate the way that poor girl is treated but we cannot interfere right nowâ The boy nodded slowly, trying to clear his head, maybe Lilia was right, but he still hated seeing you so sad.
âI will take the girl to have a chat with her, you stay here and make sure Agatha takes back that poor woman back to her home, alright?â Lilia patted his shoulder and turned back herself to get closer to you and Agatha, you were still looking down to the floor, crying silently, Agatha was looking at you not moving, just stuck there in front of you with some tears falling from her face, Lilia came next to you and placed her left hand on your shoulder, in a slow way and making sure she made sound in order to alert you that someone was behind you and getting closer to you, she had noticed the way you tended to tense when someone got too closer too you without alerting first and when someone touched you without letting you know before, so she did not want to cause you more distress, it made her feel content, that she did not startle you.
âLetâs take a walk alright sweetheart?â You nodded and slowly turned yourself around to start walking never taking your eyes off the floor, Lilia saw the way you started to walk slowly and went back to look at Agatha.
âIâm going to make sure sheâs fine, please take Sharon back to her home, we donât need more innocent people getting hurtâ Agatha nodded quickly and hastily wiped the tears off her face, Lilia gave her a soft smile before turning her body around and walked towards you, she then placed her hand again on your shoulder and gave it a soft squeeze, that action comforted you, and you made a mental note to thank her for that later. Lilia and you walked next to each other, the older and gentle woman never letting go of your shoulder, you walked in silence for some minutes, until you reached a tall tree with some tree-trunks on the floor, Lilia guided you to them and made you take a seat on one of them, she sat to your right and took your hands in hers, feeling her warm hands made you feel your eyes getting glossy again, she was comforting you and it made your heart warm.
âOh, sweet girl, why do you keep suffering in silence?â The Sicilian witch asked you with a worried expression on her face, you didnât dare to lift your face, keeping your eyes on the floor, too ashamed to look at her.
You felt a hand on your chin and Lilia lifted your face to look into your eyes.
âYou don´t have to suffer alone, I know you don´t have magic, but that doesn´t mean you are not part of this coven, yes, it is a little messy coven, gathered on the last hour, but still a coven, and you are part of this coven, you trust in me, Alice and Jenn, I know all of us are wary of Agatha, but that doesn´t mean we feel the same towards you, you are nice, kind, and have such a pretty smile that can be contagious, I now you and Agatha are not together, and I know there is much more between you and her, I see you have a deep love for her, a love that is hurting you, so tell me, what´s going on?â Lilia spoke with such a soft tone that made you feel safe, the way she had referred to you as being part of the coven made you feel happy, you felt like you could trust in her, so you decided to do it and tell her how you had met Agatha and how you had slowly fell in love with her, Lilia never let go of your hands, caressing the back of your hands with so much delicacy that it made you feel warm on the inside.
âI still don´t know why she hates me so much, I don´t get it, I thought I would be able to make her like me at least, but she doesn´t even tolerate me, I know she doesn´t care, she always makes sure to say it out loud, but why does she have to be so mean? I know maybe I should not love her the way I do, not after everything she has done, but I cannot make myself stop the feeling, I love her and I hate the way loving her makes me feelâ Lilia listened to you carefully, making sure not to interrupt you, she did not think Agatha did not care about you, she saw the way the blue-eyed witch had ran off towards you, she saw the desperate state Agatha had been when she saw you almost drowning in the mud, she saw the way she had hesitated to cut your skin, but hadn´t had any problem using the knife on the teen, Lilia was a very observant woman and was aware of how Agatha always looked at you and watched you carefully since all of you had arrived at the road.
She knew Agatha cared for you, deeply, but the way she treated you made you see the contrary and also made Lilia wondered the reason of her cold treatment towards you but the immense care she felt for you when you were not looking, Lilia was not dumb, and neither any of the other witches, even the teen noticed the way Agatha looked at you from time to time when she thought no one was looking, but her actions demonstrated the contrary, and the only one who could show you and let you know the truth to stop the pain you had in you was the same person who inflicted the pain on you, Agatha had to be the one to talk properly with you, but Lilia was not even sure if Agatha would do it, the purple witch was stubborn and sarcastic, and listened to no one but herself, so trying to talk to her would not even work.
âListen dear, I´ve seen some things, I have lived for centuries, and I can assure you, Agatha just does not know how to express herself correctly, I am not making excuses for her, no, the way she treats you is not correct, and it makes me feel angry at her for causing pain to you, but I can also see she is in pain as well, I am not the one who needs to speak about what she feels, just give her some time, and take some time for you as well, I know it is really hard right now, because we have to help each other and we are constantly together, but take some time for you and for her, you can always come to me if you feel safe, even Alice, Jenn and the boy would be more than happy to help you and make sure you are fine, alright?â You nodded, not understanding completely everything she had said, but still having her listening to you and advising you made you feel content and kept your heart warm, she gave one last squeeze to your hands and you smiled softly at her.
âSee? You have such a pretty smile, it hurts me to see you so sad sweetheartâ You laughed softly and Lilia laughed as well, your smile and laugh was really contagious.
âCan I hug you?â You liked that Lilia had asked before and you quickly nodded, you really needed a hug right now, you felt her arms surrounding you and you did the same, her hug made you feel happy and kept your heart warm, Lilia was such a kind woman, with such a beautiful soul.
You heard some footsteps getting closer in a slow way, and Lilia and you separated slowly, you wiped your face again with the sleeve of your jacket and gave her another smile.
âHeyâ You heard someone greeting in front of you, and turning your head to look at the owner of that voice you saw Alice walking slowly towards you, her hands stuck inside the pockets of her jacket, she was walking slowly while shuffling her feet against the leaves and dirt, she looked to the floor and then looked at you, trying not to intrude or make you feel uncomfortable, she came to stand in front of you and Lilia, noticing how Alice was moving her feet around the ground shily, and it made you chuckle slight.
âYou can come sit here next to meâ You patted the spot to your right and Lilia couldn´t help but smile at the interaction, Alice smiled widely and felt excited you had let her sit next to you, she took the spot right next to you making sure she did not cross any boundaries and making sure you were not uncomfortable, you noticed the way the protection witch was trying so hard not to make you feel distressed and it also warmed your heart, she even had made sure she was not touching you that much so you would not feel awkward and you smiled, you moved a little to get closer to her, your shoulders touching and Alice smiled widely at you.
âHow are you?â The protection witch asked you softly and you pressed your head against her shoulder, Alice felt happy you were comfortable with her to do that, and it made her feel joyful, she really didn't like the way you seem so sad since she saw you at the mall, waiting slowly behind Agatha and the teen.
âI am feeling better, Lilia really knows how to cheer someone upâ Lilia chuckled and Alice did the same, resting her head against yours, her hands still on her pockets.
Lilia pressed again her hand on your shoulder and brushed your arm slowly, comforting you, making you feel better. After some minutes had passed, you saw the teenager and Jenn walking slowly next to each other, when they saw you sitting between Alice and Lilia the smiled and started to walk a little bit faster.
The teen quickly came closer to you and took a seat on the ground in front of you, Jenn smiled at you as well and took the spot next to Lilia.
âSmiling fits youâ The teen commented feeling happy you didnât seem to be crying anymore.
âYou have a really pretty smile, it makes me want to smileâ Jenn said peaking her head to look at you, you seemed content and it made her feel really happy, it was a nice change, seeing you smile that way after only seeing you grimacing, confused or crying made her heart feel warm.
Agatha then appeared again, she was walking as elegant and confident as ever and when she saw you she felt happy, she felt happy seeing you smiling again, and being with the others who seemed to be supporting you made her feel happy for you, she still felt guilty but was not about to comment that, but what Agatha did not like was that you avoided looking at her while she explained they needed to summon another green witch.
All of you gathered around the spot where the area in which the ground changed colors, everyone had a flower in their hands and started to ask for the traits you wished for the new green witch you have.
You were almost at the end of the queue, Lilia to your right and Alice to your left, when your turn came, Lilia placed her hand in your back letting you know it was your turn to place the flower and wish for the trait.
âPlease let the new green witch be kindâÂ
Alice brushed her arm against you and nodded agreeing with you, Lilia gave another squeeze to your shoulder, while the teen and Jennifer smiled again at your wish.
Agatha was looking at you with a sad smile on her face, and a pang of guilty reached her heart, she had not been kind to you, what made her feel a little bit better, was the fact that the other witches have seemed to take a liking to you, she really hoped nothing happened to any of them because she wouldn´t know how you would react if you lost one of the witches who were kind enough to make sure you were alright, she feared for them and for you, a really strange feeling she was not used to.
 ・ Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś â Ë ď¸śď¸śâŠď¸śď¸ś
âWhy are you so mean if you feel the same way she feels?â Rio who was asking Agatha from behind caressing her hair. Agatha quickly turned herself around to face Rio, how had she noticed? How had she figured it out? She tried to say something, something to prove that Rio was wrong, but she couldnât, she knew she could not lie to Rio, the brown-eyed woman would notice right away, and she hated that.
Rio chuckled and proceeded to take Agathaâs hands in hers, she knew that Agatha was trying hard to ignore the feelings she had been having for you, the strong and deep love she actually had for you, the immense necessity to take care of you and make sure you were alright, Rio knew that in an attempt to try and bury her own feelings, Agatha had tried to have as much contact with her while all of you kept on walking down the road, Rio knew it very well and it was not fair for you nor her.
âI know why you suddenly want to be near me so much, and itâs not fair for her and neither for me and not even fair for you, you know itâ Rio said while caressing the hands of the blue-eyed witch. Agatha started to feel guilty again and couldnât deny that what Rio was saying was true, the brown-eyed woman knew her so well, but she wanted to make sure that Rio knew her feelings for her were not an act and she genuinely still felt love for her.
âI am not lying about the way I still feel about youâ Agatha desperately said, squeezing the other womanâs hands.
Rio chuckled a little looking back at their hands intertwined and sighed deeply.
âI know, I know you still have those same feelings, we share the same feeling, but you know you are not being fair to her, I know you are saying the truth about us, butâŚâ
Rio stopped to take a deep breath again and looked back to Agathaâs face.
âYou keep denying what you feel about her and doing that and it is hurting not only her, it is also hurting youâ Rio tried to get Agatha to realize how much pain she was inflicting not only to you.
âI also have to say that I donât like the way you talk to her or treat her, she does not deserve to be treated like that Agatha, she doesnât deserve to keep being on pain because you are too afraid of your own feelingsâ Rio commented again, sounding a little harsh, of course she hated seeing you in so much pain, not getting to see that beautiful smile of yours.
âI watched the two of you while you were under Wandaâs spell, you know? You treated her so beautiful, the way she deserved to be treated, I loved seeing when you came late to your house and y/n would wait for you, she always felt sleepy but she would always make sure to stay awake until you arrived, you would hug her and kiss her making her blush so much that she had to hide her face on your chest, you donât know how happy she wasâŚâ Agatha remembered everything, she remembered doing all of that, but because of her fears and insecurities she tried to bury those memories, she was a little but surprised that Rio had watched the two of you, but she always had done something like that without her knowing.
âI really loved the way she has always listened so attentively to you, always listening to everything that you had to tell, I even feel jealous of her just giving all of her love and attention to you, I would love if she looked at me the way she does it when it comes to youâ Rio said a little ashamed, feeling too exposed saying how she felt.
Agatha felt surprised listening to Rioâs confession and couldnât help but feel a little bit jealous for the fact that she wanted you for her as well.
âDonât worry, Iâm not going to steal her from youâ Rio winked at her playfully.
âI just, would like to keep talking with her and with you, after all this finishes, if youâd likeâÂ
Agatha liked the idea of getting to be with her and you, but now you were not even looking at her, not even meeting her gaze! You have been avoiding her since she had yelled at you.
âBut she is not even looking at me anymore! She has finally realized the monster I amâ Agatha couldnât hide anymore how distressed she was feeling, the mere thought of you leaving her was making her heart break into pieces, Agatha threw herself at Rio hugging her and clinging to her clothes, sobbing hard against her chest.
âSince I entered that house in Westview, the one I took over to follow my plan, and she was there waiting for me inside what she thought was our home, she opened the door, and smiled at me with one of the most beautiful smiles I have seen ever, she was smiling at me, she called me love and said that she had made dinner for me, I knew right away she was under Wanda´s mind control, I just never thought Wanda would give me a fake wife you know, not that I minded at allâ Agatha said with a soft smile even if the tears were still streaming down her face.
âI never minded her you know? Yes having her there was nice, I just thought that the way she treated me was because of Wanda´s mind control, because of the role she had been given to play, it was bad, I had started to fall slowly, it started with her usual greetings in the morning, always asking if I had a good sleep, or if I wanted something specific to eat in the morning, always waiting for me whenever I arrived late, so I decided to stop the feeling and release her from the spell, so she would leave the town, and leave meâŚâ The blue-eyed witch was being sincere, something that was so hard to get her to do, so Rio only listened slowly to her while caressing her hair.
âI decided to just wake her up from the mind control so that she would not act like that anymore, my heart and mind could not stand the fact that I was falling for an act, I was falling for the pretty girl in my house, for the amazing and beautiful woman in my home, always attending to what I needed, always making sure I was alright, always trying to cheer me up and say how smart I was, I wanted for all of that to end because I couldn´t stand the idea of that not being real, I was going to let her go, my heart was shattering I was going to lose her, but I was not going to just stay there and fall for that, enjoying and feeling happy because of her while she was in pain as well, so I decided to wake her up one day when she was showing me what Wanda had gifted to her, she was happy, showing me the small glass piece shaped like a bunny, it was shaped like Mr.Scratchy, she was so happy she was saying that she was going to put it on our nightstand, and I couldnât take it anymore, I quickly just placed my hand on her temple and then I just waited for the worstâ Agatha recalled the way how she had waited for you to start asking where were you, who was she, and what had you been doing there, but what happened shocked her and she did not know if she had to feel relieved or even more scared.
âBut the worst never came, she blinked several times, looked at her surroundings and then at the small piece of glass, then she looked at me with her beautiful eyes, there was no trace of fear nor confusion, she seemed relaxed, and you know what she said to me after that? She said thank you, I wanted to be able to move Agnes, would you let me keep Mr. Scratchy´s twin made out of glass?â Agatha chuckled bitterly, in that moment she realized you still were conscious, you remembered everything but did not seem to be angry nor agitated, you were relaxed, but she was not sure about the way you truly felt so she decided to once again, hide her true feelings.
âI just told her she owed me and she had a debt to pay to me, and you know what? She agreed happily, she said she would help me with whatever I needed that she was really happy there, with me! I thought she was only saying that because maybe she was scared and I thought that she would reveal her true self, her true feelings, that she would start acting different, but none of that happened, she still was there for me, waiting for me at night, making breakfast for the two of us, making sure I was fine, asking about anything, always praising every single thing I did, and even after every mean comment I said to her, she still stayed, I even hurt her once by accident! I threw her against the wall, I never got to say sorry, I did not even stay to check on her, I thought that day she would finally pack her things and leave, but she stayed, she has been staying all this time and I have only treated her like she is not worth anything to me, when she means the world to me, why can´t she just leave, yell or say something to me? I am a monster, even after every bad things I have done to her, she is still hereâ Agatha started to sob more, recalling every bad thing she had done to you made her think more and more you were not safe with her, Rio took her by her shoulders and made her look into her brown eyes.
âIt is never late to say sorry, it is never late to finally let her know how you truly feel, if you want that girl to stay with you, and if you do not want to lose her nor let her go, with only an explanation, a sorry and telling her about your real feelings, she is going to understand everything, you have to stop inflicting pain in her and in you, can´t you see how much she loves you? The way she looks at you with such admiration, and I know, you showed her how you really felt during those three years you were under Wanda´s spell, or am I wrong?â The blue-eyed witch sighed and nodded slowly, there were times in which Agatha would be conscious from time to time, she would come to her senses and realized that everything was just Wanda´s magic making her believe and act in weird ways, but even during those short times, she still acted the same way towards you, taking advantage that you thought she was under the spell, it was a way in which she felt somehow safe, and she had every memory about those three years, the way you smiled when she hugged you, the way you blushed when she complimented you, for her it had been real, and she loved all the time she got to spend with you, but her pride, insecurities and fears made her act the same awful way towards you when she was released completely, and she hated herself for that.
âI know you think you don´t deserve her, that you don´t deserve her love, but you do, but if you do not let her know the real you and your real feelings, you are risking everything you can have with her, Agatha if you do not talk to her, she is going to leave, and I don´t want to lose her neither, I know you love her the same, but if you do not let her know that, how is she going to know your true feelings? If you keep acting that way towards her you would only keep ruining your life and hers, do you understand that? I know you are scared of something happening to her, but you have to show her you care, you have to show her how much you truly love her, she needs you to reaffirm and confirm all of thatâ Rio was speaking in a soft way, her soft voice explaining everything to Agatha who always was a mess when it came to feelings, Rio wanted to stop the suffering you and Agatha were passing through.
âLove doesn´t have to make you sufferâ Rio said with a smile on her face.
âI saw the two of you during all these three years, and I saw the love you two share, I know it´s easy for you to hide your feelings, but it is hurting you more and her, you may have been under Wanda´s spell, but I know that way was easier for you to show how you truly felt, you should really talk to her and say everything to her just as you did with me, or would you like me to talk to her?â The way Rio was asking the last question made Agatha realized that this other woman also cared for you and she cared for her as well, if she could mend everything with her and you at the same time, she would be more than happy, Agatha was aware she had to be the one to talk to you and explain everything to you, she needed to do that for you, so she shook her head slowly.
âI want to talk to her, and explain everything, but, what if she doesn´t believe me and decides to leave?â Her biggest fear was you abandoning her and she was sure she would not be able to stand it, Rio chuckled slightly, how could Agatha really not see the immense love you had for her?
âShe is not going to leave, she only needs to hear what you just told me, and be honest, completely honest, no more lies, no more acts, alright?â Agatha understood and felt a wave of excitement, she wanted to mend things with you, and was grateful for Rio being there to help her, the blue-eyed witch hugged the other woman and sighed deeply.
âNo more liesâ Agatha repeated against Rio´s chest.

Agatha tried to get near you to have a proper talk with you, but it seemed like you were ignoring her, it was as if you did not want to talk to her, you were not even looking at her when she spoke or was asked something, the blue-eyed witch felt desperate and every time she tried to get closer to you, you always seemed to get to the other side or get to talk with the teen or with any of the other witches but her, any time that would happen she would turn to look at Rio to lift her hands and point at you to make her see you did not want to talk to her, Rio would always place her hands in the air and slowly move them downwards as a way of reminding Agatha to calm herself down and not push things too much.
Agatha was in a rush to get to talk to you properly, she felt the need to explain everything to you and tell you her true feelings but you were pushing her away, she couldn´t help but feel desperate.
You wanted to give Agatha time to calm herself, because you still thought she was annoyed, so whenever you noticed she was near you, you decided to give her some space, not knowing what she actually wanted to do, Rio wanted to interfere and get the two of you together so you would have the chance to properly speak, but right where she was about to step up and get the two of you to talk, another house appeared in front of them, and given Alice´s reactions, it was clear the next trial was hers, so all of you entered to the house, getting ready for whatever would come.
Agatha went to talk to you when she noticed the teen and you were around the piano with Alice, the three of you were laughing while Alice told you the different keys of the huge instrument.
âI would have loved to learn how to play piano or any type of instrument when I was a kid, but my parents actually didnât care about what I liked, I remember I liked to draw with crayons and pencil colors but when I asked them to buy me some coloring books or some pencils they would always tell me it was a waste of money and time, then I just grew up and kind of lost interest in certain thingsâ You said while touching softly the keys just softly enough to feel the cold keys without pressing hard into them to make them sound, you had not seen the way Alice and the teen shared a sad look.
âI can teach you to play when we get out of thisâ Alice commented while looking at you with a big smile on her face, her heart ache for you.
âThat would be awesome isnât it awesome? You can also come to my place and I can show you everything I have, Iâm pretty sure you are going to like my movie collection, remember you told me you loved watching moviesâ The teen said after he listened to Aliceâs offer, he wanted to make sure you knew that after all this finished, and all of you completed everything you still would have friends with you.
Your heart couldnât be filled with so much more love, it felt nice to be wanted to share things with people you liked, it was nice to be felt included, it was amazing to feel wanted and cared enough for people to invite you to do things with them.
Agatha slowly got closer to you and cleared her throat not to scare you.
âHey can you-â She had not even finished her sentence when you quickly turned around and started to walk away.
âYeah, I will make sure not to get in your wayâ You said out loud and walked towards the corner of the room leaving Agatha shocked and with her mouth open.
âThatâs not what I meantâ Agatha said softly looking at Alice and the teen, they didnât say anything and then Rio appeared behind Agatha brushing her shoulders softly.
âCan you tell y/n that she doesnât have to actually do anything? I donât want her to get hurtâ Agatha told her not minding if Alice and the teen heard what she was saying, the pair only looked at each other confused.
âWill do, donât worry, go prepare yourself to show off, she likes your clothes by the way, she was looking at you through the mirrorâ Rio winked at her and walked off to meet you, her last comment made Agatha smile and took a look at her clothes.
âYou know she only wants to make sure youâre safe, right?â You heard Rio talking behind you and you decided to turn yourself around to face her, taking a look at the witches in the middle of the room, Agatha was making sure the microphone was to her level, making you smile slightly.
âSometimes it doesnât feel like thatâ You replied to her looking at the floor, she shook her head and slowly put her hand on your chin, lifting your face to look thoroughly your expression.
âAgatha is a complicated woman, I used to be with her, and she has always been like this, itâs her own way to cope with things, I know itâs not the best way, but if you let her explain herself, everything will make sense, alright?â The woman in front of you sounded sincere, and the way she caressed the skin on your face comforted you in the same way Agatha had made you feel when she was under Wandaâs spell.
You leant into her touch, enjoying the feeling she was providing you; you closed your eyes enjoying the moment.
âYou are so beautifulâ Rio said in a whisper, you opened your eyes to look at her, feeling your face getting warmer.
âThank you, you are really beautiful as wellâ Rio smiled at you making your heart leap.
You could have sworn you have seen her before, but you were not sure where or if it was possible.
âI know you love flowers; it is amazing how you care for the garden you have on Agathaâs garden, making sure they are always wateredâ
You were surprised, how did she even know that?
âI know itâs weird, but I hope this doesnât scare you off, but Iâve been looking after you and Agatha, well, maybe a little bit more after you, Agatha has been having you looking after her during these past three years, I wanted to make sure you were also fine, we both know Agatha can take care of herself but is never that bad to make sure sheâs fine like you have been doing, right?â Rio took your hand in hers and brought your hand to her lips to press a soft kiss to your knuckles, making you nervous.
âCareful Agatha, sheâs stealing your wifeâ Jenn commented loud enough for her to be the only one to hear, Agatha pursed her lips together and sent you a look.
Rio was talking to you in the corner of the room, she was playing with your hair and you were playfully pushing her hand away, the two of you were laughing and even if the brown-eyed woman and her had already talked about what they wanted, which was the same thing, or the same person in this case, she couldnât help but feel jealous, you had just met Rio hours ago and there you were touching her playfully?
What made her feel more jealous was when she saw the way Rio gave you one of the flowers hanging around her hair and gave it you, you didnât think twice to take it in your hands.
âRio, care to join us? We have to hurryâ Agatha called out loud with her hands pointing at the instruments.
Rio winked at you and brushed slowly her hand on your hand.
âWe can keep talking later loveâ The pet-name had made you blush and you only nodded trying to hide your smile while caressing slowly the petals of the flower Rio had given to you.
Rio came towards all of the other witches who already had an instrument in their hands and Agatha quickly took Rioâs shoulder, stopping her from walking past her.
âI told you to only let her know to stay away, not to go and flirt shamelessly with her in front of usâ Agatha hissed to her, trying not to yell and Rio couldnât help but laugh.
âCalm down, we already talked, we have to make her feel safe, thatâs what Iâm doingâ Rio tried to reason with the blue-eyed witch.
âSheâs is not only yoursâ Agatha said again warning the brown-eyed woman.
âThen we better hurry so you can let her know you want her to be yours as well, right?â Rio replied back with her eyes wide opened and a big smile on her face, Agatha only sighed and let her walk towards her instrument.

It happened so fast that you didnât even get the chance to cover your face or turned around, but it was too late, the next thing you knew you were being carried and you felt the hot and thick liquid coming out from several parts of your body, and the different cuts all over your face made you feel more pain.
All they had heard was the sound of something about to crack, and after they had the chance to do something the glass in front of you shattered into millions of pieces, everyone out of instinct covered themselves but when Agatha realized you had been the one too close to the glass her heart started to beat faster, turning around quickly she saw you were about to fall to the floor completely unconscious, so she ran as fast as she could catching you in the process.
âPlease we need to help her, sheâs bleeding so muchâ Agatha screamed completely terrified, she had tried to protect you and she hadnât even been able to do that.
Yes, they had passed the trial, but that didnât make them feel happy nor excited, everyone was completely worried about you but the way Agatha seemed to be so desperate trying to stop the bleeding and the tears falling from her face showed how scared she was.
Agatha was passing her hand through her hair nervously not knowing what to do, she felt useless, completely useless.
âPlease we have to do something, sheâs not responding!â Agatha yelled completely desperate looking at the other witches.
They placed you on the floor carefully, Agatha quickly started to look for any more wounds and when she saw a big spot of blood that had formed on you abdomen it made her cry harder, she carefully lifted the shirt to see the wound and what she saw made her gasp as well as the other witches who were looking horrified the scene in front of them.
âLet me try somethingâ Jenn quickly made something with the water on the little pools on the floor, and started to say something in Latin, Agatha was trembling with fear, without her powers she was not even able to heal you.
Rio came to stand next to her to take her hand in hers to give her some kind of comfort, the brown-eyed woman was trying really hard not to shed any tears, trying to be strong for Agatha.
The teen had his hands in his head, not wanting to look at the amount of blood coming from you, he was so scared for you and started to walk in circles due to his nervousness.
Jenn came back to your body and kneeled to try and pour the water onto your wound, she carefully removed the big piece of glass stuck in your skin and Agatha couldnât stand the sight, her eyes were completely red, her hands shaking out of fear.
âThere is so much blood! Are you sure thatâs going to help?!â Alice suddenly asked not sure if she should get closer or give you space, Lilia had kneeled next to you, caressing your hair and with tears in her eyes.
Agatha hoped that whatever Jen was pouring into your wound would stop the bleeding but even after the water was poured completely on you, the blood didnât stop from coming out of the wound in your stomach.
âItâs not working! Jen why is not working!?â Agatha yelled scared and confused, she kneeled down as well trying to see if maybe her powers were back, but they had not come back to her.
âDamn it!â The blue-eyed woman didnât know what to do, she had wanted to apply pressure into your wound but was afraid of making everything worse, she didnât know what to do for once in her life.
âWe have to do something, sheâs still bleeding!â The teen came running towards you.
âAgatha, we have to do something if we donât stop the bleeding she will die!â Everyone felt a pang of fear and pain when they heard the teen saying that.
âNo, no she wonât die!â Agatha took your face into her hands, softly caressing the spots that were free off any wounds.
All of the witches were crying at this point, how could it be possible that out of all of them you had been the one to get hurt?
âPlease doll, you canât die, you canât leave me, I donât want you to leave, I love you, we still havenât talked! I still have to let you know everything, I love you please you canât leave meâ The way Agatha was talking to you and pleading for you not to leave her was a shattering their hearts.
Rio couldnât stand the sight, you were in fact dying, she removed slowly from Agatha and the blue-eyed witch panicked.
âNo, no, no please, donât take her, itâs not fair! Please I beg you not to take her, please my love you canât take herâ Rioâs heart was breaking into millions of pieces, the way Agatha was suffering, the way she would suffer even more if you died, the way Rio would also suffer from your loss, everyone here would suffer horribly if you died, Rio knew it was not fair, it was not fair that you had to die like that, an innocent, Rio knew she had a job, her job was sacred, but would she be able to break the rules for you and Agatha? She hadnât got the time to speak properly with you, to show you how she truly cared about you, all these years looking after Agatha and you had made her fall for you as well, the way your smile was so sweet and contagious, the way you would always try to hide your face when you were feeling nervous, she couldnât bring herself to take you with her and never see you again.
The other witches were completely confused, why was Agatha pleading to her not to take you? They were not understanding until Rioâs face showed for a second her true image making everyone gasp in fear.
âI canât interfere Agatha, I am the natural order, I should never stop the natural order of thingsâ Rioâs voice was deep, and Agathaâs sobs were becoming louder.
âWhy is it always an innocent the one which has to pay for the bad things?â Lilia asked out loud caressing softly your hair making sure not to hurt you more.
Rio slowly pressed her hand on the deep wound on your stomach and when she took her hand off, the blood had stopped coming, the gash on your skin was not there anymore, and your breathing became normal.
âYou saved herâ Agathaâs eyes were full of tears, the hot streams of tears still falling down her face, but at the sight of your abdomen with no more blood coming and with no trace of the wound, she finally felt she could breathe, Rio only nodded and quickly wiped the single tear that had fallen down her face.
âI couldnât bring myself to hurt the two women I loveâ She whispered.Â
âI will make sure nothing ever happens to her, right now we have to make sure she rests for a while, I can take care of the other small wounds that she has all over her face and hands, we have to move her to a place where she can restâ Everyone nodded when Rio finished talking, and Agatha and her made sure to take carefully your body to carry you on their arms.
The teen who has the first to compose himself to make himself useful started to gather as many leaves as he could, he started to take many with him from the ground, Alice who quickly understood what he was doing started to do the same.
âWhere are you going to put her?â The teen asked when he came next to Agatha and Rio who had you in their arms.
âOver there, thank youâ Rio said calmly, she knew you were safe.
Alice and the teen gathered as many leaves as they could and put them where Rio had pointed at, in a spot where the path had some different flowers and a tall tree in the middle, Alice and the teen made sure the leaves they had collected were enough and made sure if was comfortable enough, Agatha and Rio placed you on there carefully, making sure they would not hurt you more.
After they placed you on the leaves Agatha stood up and quickly took her coat off, placing it over your body and making sure you were covered, Lilia came walking to stand next to the two witches and did the same as Agatha, she carefully took her sweater off and kneeled next to you to place it over your body, making sure the two pieces of clothes that belonged to her and Agatha were covering you fully, Agatha felt very touched seeing how everyone also cared about you, and she reminded herself to thank them for that.
Alice noticed the way your head was placed in a weird way so she took her jacket off and moved closer to you, folding her jacket carefully to shape it like a pillow, but noticed the way the zipper had not been carefully hidden so it would not hurt you, Jenn came next to her.
âLet me tryâ Jenn stretched her hands out and Alice handed the jacket to her, Jennifer carefully folded in a way the zipper would not hurt your head, and handed it back to Alice, the protection witch carefully kneeled and Rio did the same, the green witch lifted your head slowly and Alice placed her folded jacket under your head, finally your head was not in a strange position and you seemed to be comfortable enough.
âThank youâ Agatha said looking at the witches that stood in front of you.
âThank you for taking care of her, for making sure she´s alright, I will always be in debt with youâ Agatha said again with tears forming in her eyes again.
All of the witches were surprised because this had been the first time, they were seeing Agatha being vulnerable.
âWe didn´t do anythingâ Jenn said while looking at you, she still felt bad for not being able to actually do something to heal you.
âYour potion didn´t work, because she was not supposed to be healed, it was not you, your potion worked perfectly fine, you saved Sharon, but this was something differentâ Agatha said looking at Jenn straight into her eyes and then the blue eyed-witch turned her head to look at Rio, giving her a smile, Rio smiled back at her, knowing exactly that what Agatha had said was true, the potion´s witch was not able to heal you because you were not supposed to be saved.
âI mean, thank you for being with her, I know you may not have known her that much, but seeing you making sure she was fine and letting her walk next to you when she did not want to be near me, make me feel relieved that at least she had someone looking after herâ Agatha said sincerely.
âThat girl is a gift, a wonderful young woman who deserves every single good thing, and we are going to be with her until we can and until life allows us toâ Lilia said with a soft tone all while looking at Rio, Rio nodded at her softly, as a way of thanking her.
âWe will leave you to take care of her, we are sure you have too many things to talk about and talk to her when she wakes up, we will be waiting for you to come back with her, alright?â Lilia commented again and Alice, Jenn and the teen nodded, the Sicilian witch was right, they needed to leave the three of you alone and give you time to talk, Alice and the teen were the first ones to start walking back to the spot where the door had been, the two of them smiled at Rio and Agatha, Jenn was the second to leave, sighing deeply and Lilia stopped next to Agatha to grab her hand in hers.
âMake sure she recovers well, and Agatha please stop making her suffer, I know you are suffering as well, so I hope when she wakes up, you will talk to he properly and I hope you say sorry to herâ Lilia was looking straight at the blue-eyed witch and Agatha nodded.
âI will do it, thank you for talking to her, she seemed more relaxed after your talk, so I am really grateful for thatâ Lillia´s face softened and she patted Agatha´s shoulder, she knew Agatha would do the right thing, so she left to join the rest of the coven where they had left, leaving Agatha and Rio standing next to each other.
Rio took Agatha´s hand in hers and the two of them sat net to you on the ground, the blue-eyed witch took your hand in hers caressing the back of your hand and Rio caressed your forehead softly, healing the wounds you had and making sure they all disappeared.
They were not sure how much time had passed but they felt you started to move slowly and Rio and Agatha quickly went to help you to sit down on the spot you had been placed.
âHow are you feeling doll?â Agatha asked you while she quickly went to grab your face with her hands, there was no trace of blood nor any wounds on your beautiful place, and she felt relieved that you seemed to be relaxed and not in pain, seeing you with your eyes opened was the most beautiful thing, she had been so scared to lose you, she would never forget how much she had feared for your life, she would go absolutely mad if she lost you for real.
Your first reaction was to blink several times, were you dreaming? Why did Agatha look so worried? And most important why was she touching your face with so much softness? Rio noticed your confused expression and giggled gently, she came to sit next to you, her shoulder touching yours and one of her hands went to hugged you by your waist, making you feel your face getting warmer.
Agatha couldn´t help herself and quickly leant to pressed a soft and quick kiss to your lips, it had been so out of nowhere and of course you had not expected her to do that, but it made your heart beat so fast, that it made you afraid it was going to get out of your ribcage with the force it was beating.
âYou almost died, I almost lost you, we almost lost you darling!â Agatha´s eyes started to fill with tears again, the memory making her body tremble again and of course you worried, you took her hands from your face and brought them to your chest.
âBut I am hereâ You said softly trying to give her some comfort.
Agatha and Rio couldn´t believe how sweet you were, you were trying to comfort the blue-eyed witch even though you had just passed through something as traumatic as almost dying.
Agatha chuckled softly and brought your hands to her lips, giving a kiss to the back of your hands, and placing them close to her face to feel the warmth emanating from your soft hands, she was so happy to know you were fine, to know you were there alive and that she was able to feel you.
âI am so happy that you´re here, and it is because of Rio, she saved you, she was the only one who was able to heal you and made you stay here with us, oh love, there was so much blood, seeing you with your eyes completely closed and not responding almost made my heart stop, I was not able to do anything, I don´t have powers, I was not able to protect you, I was so scared since the moment I heard you were coming with us, I didn´t want that anything happened to you, I tried to protect you and none of it worked, you ended up getting hurtâ Agatha was crying, the tears were falling from her face and you quickly wiped the tears of her face, you hugged her and she returned the hug, her arms embraced your waist softly and Rio´s hand started to caress your back up and down.
After some minutes that you were sure Agatha had calmed down a little you separated yourself from her and looked straight into her eyes.
âIt´s alright Agatha, I really appreciate that you are being finally honest with me, that you let me see this part of you, that you are letting me see the real you, I love you, and I have loved you since I started to share my life with you playing your âwifeââ Agatha felt her face getting warmer and you laughed at her blushing face, Agatha really liked when it was mentioned you were her âwifeâ she had in mind to actually get you to be her real wife but first she wanted to mend things and pass more time with you before finally popping the question, she also was aware of the fact that Rio would start passing more and more time with you and her, so she wanted to talk properly about that with the brown-eyed witch.
âI love you so much as well, everything I have done, every lie I have told you, every mean action and comment I have done to you has been awful, I will never forgive myself for al the time I have treated you like that, I am so sorry for yelling at you, you didn´t deserve any of that, you deserve to have everything, to be treated like a queen, because that is what you are to me, please I hope you can forgive for what I have done, I don´t want to lose you, I want you to stay with me, because I love you, I know there is no excuse for everything I made you pass through, but I was scared, I was scared of my own feelings, every time I looked at you and the way you always smile, it made me fear and doubt my own feelings, you made me feel what I had not felt in centuries, and I was scared to actually face my true feelings towards you, but please, if you give me a chance I will make it up to you, I will never hurt you againâ You were so touched by her words, she was being honest, and the best part was that she returned your feelings, this day could not be better, the woman you had fallen for was saying to you that she also loved you!
You had started to cry and felt another hand caressing you back as well, you gave another soft kiss to Agatha and smiled at her after separating a little from her.
âThank you, Agatha, you really make me happy, I forgive you for everything I really love you so deeply, and I don´t hold any type of grudges against you, it makes me happy to know you feel the same way I do, so of course I will stay with you, I am not going anywhereâ Agatha had a huge smile on her face, her heart was full of love for you, and she would make sure this time she show you how she truly felt about you.
You slowly turned your face to look at Rio and saw the loving expression she had on your face, Agatha patted you softly and pushed you gently to turn yourself around to face Rio.
The brown-eyed witch took your hands in hers and started to caress the palm of your hands, tickling you a little.
âThank you, Rio, for saving my life, I will always have a debt with you, how can I show you how grateful I am?â You said to her with a soft tone, giving her a big smile and feeling your heart leaping, Rio looked at you without saying anything for a couple of minutes, her right hand with her long black fingernails came to your face to caress your cheek and then she placed her hand on your neck, caressing your skin slowly.
âIf you give me as many kisses for as long as I live, you will never own me anythingâ Rio responded with a flirty tone, her eyes watching your lips for a second.
âDon´t worry about Agatha, we already talked, she is not the only one who will have you all to herselfâ Rio winked at you and Agatha rolled her eyes playfully, of course she would say something like that.
âYou can start paying me nowâ Rio whispered, her face getting closer to you, you leant into her and pressed your lips on hers, it started as nice gentle kiss and Rio took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, Agatha noticed that and pursed her lips a little, did she really have to do it now that you were having a deep talk with them? Deep down she felt a little bit jealous, she had also wanted to kiss you like that.
âHey, hey, that´s too much, c´mon ladiesâ Agatha said out loud and you separated yourself slowly from Rio´s lips, your face completely red, Rio had a satisfied look on her face, the brown-eyed witch looked at Agatha and on purpose licked her lips, making Agatha shook her head.
The blue-eyed witch got closer to you, sitting right behind you, she passed her arms around your waist pulling you closer to her and pressing her chin on your shoulder after giving a soft kiss to your temple, feeling content for having you there with her, Rio took your hands again in hers and gave them a squeeze, she also couldnât hide how happy she was feeling, after all, she was finally able to touch you and look at you closer, it had been what she had wanted to do during those three years of only watching you from afar.
You were happy, you not only had the woman whom you had fallen in love first hugging you with her strong grip around you, listening to her breathing, you also had an amazing woman in front of you who also took your breath away, her flirty nature made her so confident, apart from the fact that she was as beautiful as Agatha and had a deadly stare, you felt happy, even if you almost died, everything had been worth it, you didnât feel as if loving her was ruining your life anymore, it was making you feel finally complete, you felt loved and that was what mattered, not only you had two women who cared for you romantically, but you also finally had found your coven even if you were not a witch, they had treated you like if you had been really important to them, and couldn´t wait to see them again to thank them for that.
Agatha knew Rio had been right, love didnât have to make any one of you suffer, not even her, and was grateful that Rio had made her re-think what she was doing, thanks to her, she was right there, hugging you, feeling you close, and Agatha couldn´t be happier, she knew she would have time to spend it with you and also with Rio of course, nothing would take her happiness away, and she would make sure to protect you for real and always have you close to her.
Rio was happy, more than happy, she wouldn´t let anything happen to you, and of course would make sure Agatha would be fine, she would make sure to have an eye on you, and would make sure that Agatha didn´t repeat the same mistakes, Rio wouldn´t let that anything happen to you, she would still have to explain to you why sometimes she had to disappear from time to time, and would explain to you who she really was, she would make sure not to scare you, she know it was something really important to talk about, but right now, she felt content, caressing your hair and putting flowers to decorate your beautiful hair, many different back flowers were adorning your soft hair, Rio was making sure that they would not fall, she was going to enjoy you as much as she could right now, she would have more time to speak properly to you later, right now, she knew she had to make sure nothing happen to any of you to get you safe and out of this place.

el sueĂąo de una niĂąa II Jenni Hermoso x Reader
masterlist I word count: 2175
a/n: dear readers, the inspiration for this oneshot was Jenni Hermoso's speech at the Ballon d'Or ceremony, enjoy. đ¤đ
âWait, I know that youâre a football player. Why did you come from my mamis bedroom?â
Jenni was on her way to sneak out of your appartement but when that small voice held her back. Curiously she turned the head around to look into the eyes of a little girl who the Spaniard estimated to be between five to six years old.
That must have been your daughter Mila Jenni thought to herself. It was the big confession after the great night the two of you had spent together.
Something in the reveal activated her flight mode, the forwardâs plan was to leave and never look back. Her life was so chaotic she didnât feel ready to be a part of a family.
Even though everything about yesterday touched her more than Jenni wanted to admit. Images of it flashed behind her eyes capturing passion, beauty and love.Â
âUhm.. you didnât see me, okay?â, the raven-haired woman returned the question flustered.
âBut youâre the Jenni Hermoso, right? The one who won the World cup with Spain.â, Mila looked at her big-eyed, her voice full of adoration.
âYes, but donât tell anyone.â, Jenni replied, pressing a finger to her lips to underline her words.
âWow.â, the little girl whispered amazed.
âSorry, I really need to leave now. Iâve a speech to write.â, the striker apologized.
This didnât stop Mila to confide in the older woman. âIâd love to be a football player like you when Iâm grown up.â
âYou do?â, something of your daughterâs sincerity made Jenni stay despite her announcement earlier that she needed to go.
âYes.â, the girl emphasized.
âHm..â
âItâs a big dream of mine.â, Mila added smiling shily.
âYouâll have to work hard for it.â, the Spaniard told her seriously.
âI can do that.â, your daughter assured her.
âAnd people will try to keep you from it.. they will tear you down and hope youâll be compliant.â, Jenni continued gravely, kneeing down so she could look into the girlâs eyes.
âDid they do that with you?â, Mila questioned empathetically, placing her small hand carefully to the dark-haired womanâs cheek.
âYes. All my life. So, promise me one thing, okay?â, she confirmed.
âOkay?â
âDonât let anyone tell you what you can and cannot be. Promise?â, Jenni pressed a kiss to your daughterâs fingers.
âI promise.â, Mila answered solemnly.
âIf you excuse me now.â, the older woman gave her an apologetic look.
âBye, Jenni. I hope Iâll see you back soon.â, the girl said in an optimistic tone that left no doubt that the football player would return to your appartement.
âWeâll see. Thank you though.â, Jenni answered gratefully.
âThank you for what?â, your daughter frowned confused.
âYou just gave me an idea for my speech.â, the football playerâs face lit up with excitement as she spoke.
Jenni shuffled the pieces of papers once more while someone applied her make up for the Ballon DâOr ceremony.
The writing on her notes was almost illegible, she had scribbled down her thoughts way too quickly on her way to the venue. It didnât matter. She knew now what she wanted to say on stage. Still, she refused to let go of her notes.
âJenni, have you actually prepared a speech?â
Alexias face appeared behind her in the mirror, She was already in her suit, her hair pulled into a low bun.
Jenni was about to complain about the surprised tone of Alexias voice when Patri joined them: âNo way! I thought youâd just start talking like you always do.â
Jenni raised one eyebrow at the reflection of her two Spanish teammates and grinned: âThat was the initial plan but I had a better idea.â
âDid someone spark your inspiration?â, Marta asked innocently.
Once the make-up artist let go of her face, she turned towards them and nodded: âYes. And I hope sheâs watching.â
Her teammates exchanged unreadable glances without saying a word while Jenni walked past them, leading the way to the award ceremony.
For what felt like hours, they sat there and listened to men talk. Jennis gaze kept going back to the clock, willing the time to slow down or the speakers to talk faster so Mila had a chance to watch before her bedtime.
Finally, she was called up on stage to receive her award. There was applause but she knew a lot of the people werenât satisfied with her nomination. She held onto her notes and it all faded into the background once she started speaking about the little girl that wanted to follow in her footsteps, the girl that deserved to have a safer environment to play football in.
Her teammates welcomed her back to her seat with standing ovations. Alexia nodded at her once with a set jaw while Aitana gave her an inquiring look: âYou dedicated it to a young girl? Whoâs that?â
âSomeone I met this morning.â, Jenni replied truthfully as she sat down.
âShe seems to have left quite an impression on you.â, Caroline remarked.
âShe did. Sometimes I wonder why I put up with all this shit⌠but there are so many little girls out there that should have it better than we did back then.â
âI agree with that.â, Alexia chimed in.
Marta nodded in agreement: âMe too, obviously. We had to put up with a lot.â
âLetâs be honest, we still do.â, Aitana whispered.
Jenni answered with new-found determination: âYes but until she gets older, we might have already changed some more things.â
âI bet we will.â, Salma said quietly, before they all went quiet again and focused on the next award recipient.
Much to the surprise of her national and former club teammates Jenni announced at the after party, the alcohol-free wine glass still resting in her hand untouched. âI think Iâm going to leave.â
âLeave?â, Patri repeated puzzled.
âYeah, this party is boring anyway.â, the striker shrugged. The other women secretly thought the same, they couldnât celebrate like the men around them as they were having a national team game the next morning.
Seeing Jenni step into your apartment while she still wore her glamorous dark suit jacket showing a large portion of her skin underneath felt almost unreal to you. It wasnât that long ago when Mila and you watched the ballon dâor ceremony on tv and now she was back in flesh and blood. The football player was even more gorgeous here than on the screen.
Quickly Jenni revealed that the celebrations had bored her which was the moment you told her about your night.
âMila stayed awake the whole time, she didnât want to fall asleep until you were on the stage, Jenni.â
âShe watched?â, the dark-haired woman asked happily.
âYes, Mila loved everything about your speech.â, you nodded thrilled by the fact that your excitement was mirrored in the forwardâs face.
âIâve to thank her. She inspired me.â, she confessed.
âYou inspired her as well.â, you admitted smiling. Â
âEven if sheâs the only one, I reached my goal.â, Jenni beamed.
âTo be fair I think you inspired many more with your words.â, you remarked solemnly.
âI hope so.â, the dark-haired woman sighed.
âTrust me.â, you answered softly.
After a meaningful pause you added. âI almost thought you wouldnât call or wanted to see me again back then you left without a word in the morning.â
âThat would sound like me actually.â, the footballer cleared her throat nervously. She loved to play the game, haunting for the next great beauty to court and lay down in bed with before going on the haunt again, always being a restless player. All was fair in love and football.
âSheâll appreciate the thank you though, itâll mean a lot to her.â, you said while you bit your lip.
âThatâs why Iâm here. I want to thank you both.â, Jenni looked at you sincerely.
âShouldnât you be at the grand afterparty sipping champagne and flirting with pretty women?â, you lifted an eyebrow curiously.
âNot many women there that arenât my teammates. And Iâm not allowed to drink, Iâve to be back with my national team tomorrow.â, the striker chuckled amused.
âI see.â
âAnd maybe I preferred to spend my time here.â, she acknowledged, one hand ran tensely through her long hair.
You considered her for a moment and nodded in the direction of Milas bedroom: âSadly sheâs already asleepâŚâ
âThatâs okay. I could stay if you let me.â
You knew you should have thought about it for longer but you couldnât resist the thought of Jenni staying one more night: âYes, you can. If you promise to say goodbye in the morning.â
âIf I was planning to sneak out again, I wouldnât have told you.â, Jenni half-joked.
You tilted your head: âGood point.â
âSo?â
âYou can stay the night.â, you finally confirmed.
Relief seemed to flash across Jennis face for a millisecond: âThanks.â
âYouâre welcome, Jenni.â
The next morning you were woken up by footsteps on the wooden floor. Your heart sank immediately, thinking it was Jenni breaking her promise so you refused to turn around. You didnât want to watch her leave again. Instead you heard a tiny voice whisper in awe: âJenni!â
âWoah, youâre already awake, little one. Good morning.â, Jenni yawned and stretched right next to you.
She was still here, still in your bed.
âI saw you! Last night!â, Mila said full of excitement.
âYou did? And did you like my suit? Itâs on that chair.â, Jenni smiled, pointing across the room.
You watched as Mila walked over and gently touched the fabric in awe.
âItâs beautiful.â
âRight? Next year Iâll take you and your mum with me.â, the football player said, winking at you as if to tell you that she knew you were awake.
While the smile fell from your face, Milas eyes lit up: âWhat? Really?â
âYes, why not?â
You might have been desperate for her to stay another night but you werenât delusional. Who knew where the two of you were in a year? Most likely not sharing a bed anymore.
âDonât promise her too much.â, you warned the football player.
Jenni was unusually quiet before replied: âI⌠mean it.â
âYou mean it?â
âI do. I want to keep seeing you and her.â, she said with determination.
Milas eyes had been darting back and forth between the two of you like she was watching a tennis match. âWe want to keep seeing you too!â, she yelled happily.
Completely ignoring you, Jenni turned back to your daughter and pulled her onto the bed: âWould you like to see a football game in Italy tonight?â
Mila was bursting with joy: âYes!â
âI mean isnât that too spontaneous? Like what about the airplane tickets?â, you interjected.
âI can take care of it all. But only if thatâs okay with you.â, Jenni offered while Mila put on her best puppy eyes: âPleeease.â
Who were you to deny your daughter such a once in a lifetime opportunity?
With a hesitant nod, you finally agreed: âOkay.â
The day has flown by, Mila and you quickly packed your bag for one night, before following your lover to get on the plane. While the striker was on the team walk, your daughter and you did your own exploring the Italian surroundings. It was like a daydream from which you didnât want to wake up.
In the evening, you could feel from the stands Jennis glances on you who was standing on the pitch with some of her friends. Next to you Mila couldnât hide her excitement seeing her favourite players live. It genuinely warmed your heart to witness and share that special moment with your child.
âPretty girl from next door? Sheâs so your type, Jenni.â, Laia Codina wiggled her eyebrows.
âThatâs why sheâs here.â, the forward winked at the defender.
With a smirk on her face Alexia bumped her elbow into her teammates side. âWho wouldâve thought that Jennifer found herself a family.â
âStrange things happen, Ale.â, Jenni shrugged with her shoulders.
âYes, itâs Halloween soon.â, Vicky threw in teasingly.
âRude.â, the older striker commented smiling.
âVicky.â, the Barcelona captain clicked her tongue reprovingly.
The test game ended in a draw, but that didnât stop Jenni from giving you a passionate kiss.
âThat wasnât very subtle, Jenni.â, you laughed.
âI donât care about subtle anymore.â, she clarified grinning.
âWhat about the others watching?â, you asked her, cheeks flushed.
âThey just love to stare at pretty girls.â, Jenni stated firmly.
âPretty girls, hm?â, you repeated. Admittedly under her intense gaze you felt more beautiful than ever before. She didnât hide her desire towards you and wasnât afraid to show it in the public.
âYes.â, she confirmed.
âKiss me again.â, you requested, your voice slightly hoarse from cheering. Before you even could finish your sentence, her lips were on yours, making both of your hearts flutter.
Everything started with a dream of a little girl which was your daughter, in which Jenni saw her younger self, Mila undoubtedly became her inspiration for the speech. The three of you would now dream together.
Keep dreaming.

You look at the cross in your hand. You had spent so much money on the pretty silver one that was blessed by that really religious guy that all those people like to go see. It was probably a scam item anyways. It smelled like nickel. You were going to die because you couldnât be bothered to authenticate your purchases. Well, actually, if the leech was telling the truth, you were going to die because you had never fully believed in God. Faith? What was faith? What did you truly believe in anymore? How were you supposed to believe in a giant invisible bearded dude in the sky? The only thing you truly believed in wasâŚ
You paused your pity party. Would it really work? You motioned a pause to the leech who stopped his advancing, dumbfounded by your quick scrabble for your bag. His brows knit together as you found what you were looking for. You turned quickly, running to him, howling like the loon youâd become. He opened his arms to trap you but as soon as your fist met his chest he sailed back with a hiss.
He slammed against the wall, reflexively scooting up it as he continued to hiss at you. You smiled triumphantly, âI may not believe in much but I have full faith in this!â You brandished your latest paystub from your day job at him. His hissing face fell to confusion but you werenât done. You began flicking small paper darts at him, each one making contact and burning his skin. You laughed âdance for me bay-BEE!â You had been so ticked when you were called to hunt on the night you were supposed to go to your coworkerâs bachelorette party. You had sat on the subway, sulking and spinning all your ones into little darts for the toothpick launching crossbow your brother had given you as a gag gift. You vowed you were going to shoot him with them for getting sick and leaving you with the hunt. And, here you were, watching the rolled up bills bury into the leechâs skin till it writhed on the floor, melting away in anguish. Oh how fate loved to twist and turn.
Later you loaded the shriveling head into a plastic market bag, double bagging it and tying the handles tight. You really hopped it didnât spring a leak again. You were really tired of being the weird horror movie maker chick on the subway, explaining away how to make believable blood and body parts. You eyed the bag for a moment then went to triple bag it. Your phone rang. You looked at your bloody gloved hands, sighed, then jerked your head multiple times as if in a seizure, knocking the small ear piece in your ear against your shoulder till it answered the call. You heard the click of the answer, âBusy.â You stated flatly. You struggled to open the plastic container youâd taken from your bag earlier.
Your brother sneezed in your ear before croaking âyou missed check inâ
âBecause I was busy.â You rolled your eyes at the black heart with a small stake sticking out of it. âYou could have told meâ you move to snap the lid onto the container but the stick blocks you. You sigh again.
âI thought you liked dogs.â Your brother coughed while trying to laugh.
You pause your assault of the plastic lid with your knife, âit was a leech not a dogâ
âShit!â Your brother sounds suddenly alarmed âare you ok? Were you bit? Do you have your UV kit? We have NOT gotten you fully trained on those.â
You nodded fervently, forcing the lid closed, the stick piercing through the hole you made for it. âYes. No. The what? Yea Iâm aware.â You triple bag the heart and shove everything into your large not-at-all-inconvenient OR suspicious to haul around in a subway black tote bag. You growl, struggling with the zipper as you listen to your brother throw around papers and check his mission book. He curses and you hear something crash then both of you are still, both heavy breathing and irritated. You wait one more moment then say, âpity pick-up or donât-tell-dad designated driver night ENDING at Poles & Dills.â
Your brother sighs but itâs cut off with a sneeze and a hacking cough. He clears his throat âIâm still sickâ
You grin as you shoulder your bag and begin your hike to the bus stop, âAnd I have a lot of bloody ones.â
"You have misunderstood the lore, hunter. It is neither crucifix, nor rosary, nor holy water, nor any other trapping of faith, but faith ITSELF that is anathema to my kind. And yours has proven to be. . . insufficient."

Prompt: Everyone knows that Tommy is a pushover for Buck's 𼺠eyes (it's a running joke for the 118/217), but when Tommy gets upset and is very quietly đĽş, Buck is shocked by how completely and utterly insane he goes to make Tommy feel better.
(bonus points if it's a completely dumb reason, like Tommy's run out of ice cream or something and it's just A Bad Day)
A little silly, a little serious, I hope you enjoy!
One of the many things Buck loved about his and Tommy's relationship is that he got to see a side of Tommy that no one else saw. He got to see many sides of Tommy that no one else saw, actually.
While everyone got a piece of calm, cool, and collected Thomas Kinard, Buck got all that and everything in between.
He saw him on his best days, his worst days, goofy days, sick days, horny days, tired days, all the days! He often thought of making a list of all the things people would be surprised to know about Tommy. He'd never share it, of course, but it'd be nice for him to have.
Like, how Tommy was ticklish only on his right side. And when he got tickled, he didn't do his normal laugh. Instead it was a high pitched giggle with a snort.
Or, how Tommy was super proud of the fact he knew every single word to We Didn't Start the Fire and he felt the need to sing it at the top of his lungs at least once a week.
How he loved human connection, but hated being touched by strangers. He'd hug a friend all night long if you needed it, but if he didn't know you please keep your hands to yourself.
How he liked tomatoes on cold sandwiches, but never on toasted ones.
How he loved when Buck would sit on the countertop and kiss him because it made him feel smaller, and he loved feeling small and protected in Evan's arms.
How his voice got deeper during sex. Whether he was inside Buck or Buck was inside him, his voice would always get all gravely and deep in a way that sent shivers down Buck's spine.
Maybe one of the biggest ones was how Tommy was not always the stoic, perfectly poised man as he presented himself to the world.
Tommy could get emotional. Emotional in a way that was usually reserved for movies written by men about women during their period.
Buck was thrown off by it the first time it happened. He almost thought it was a joke, until he saw the tears in Tommy's eyes as he mourned the fact he was out of whipped cream.
Then it was just heartbreaking.
It didn't happen often. A series of bad events throughout the day would build up in his body and brain until the smallest inconvenience caused him to fall apart.
They'd talked about it before. Tommy had grown up having to hold in his thoughts and feelings. They'd build and build until he'd do something erratic or harmful. Then he joined the army, and those emotions would build up the same way. Being in the army itself was a bit erratic and harmful, so he didn't have the best coping skills.
It wasn't until he started therapy, and his therapist helped him realize that he needed to let himself feel whatever he was feeling that he slowly and gradually became better at opening up.
However, there were still days where he felt the need to let everything build. Build and build until he burst. Except, now days, instead of becoming erratic or harmful, his eyes would well up and his lip would come out in a pout, and Buck would feel the need to move heaven and earth to make it all better.
Buck knew something was off as soon as he got home from work. Tommy was already there in the garage, half bent over his truck as he worked on the engine.
Buck let out a whistle. âWhat a view,â he teased.
Tommy glanced back at him, gave him a half smile before focusing back on his truck. âHey, Baby. I ordered dinner. Should be in before it gets here.â
To anyone else, that might seem like a regular conversation. To Buck, it was the exact opposite. Normal Tommy would make some teasing comment right back, letting Buck know what he was seeing was just a preview of what was to come.
This... This was the start of an emotional night.
*****
Dinner was fairly quiet, with Buck leading most of the conversation. He knew not to ask questions yet. If he did it too soon, Tommy would completely shut down and it would take even longer to get any information out of him. As much as Buck hated it, this had to play out a certain way.
Luckily, he was fluent in Tommy.
It was a little after dinner, once Buck had settled in the living room, that it began.
âEvan?â Tommy called out from the kitchen.
âYeah?â
âIs... Did you put my ice cream in a different spot?â
âNo, it's-â Buck froze, thinking back to two nights ago. Jee had come over and wanted a treat. She ended up eating the last of Tommy's favorite birthday cake ice cream. He knew that, on a regular day, Tommy wouldn't care that it was gone.
He also knew today wasn't a regular day.
âI think it's all gone, Babe,â he said cautiously as he got up from the couch and headed into the kitchen.
âOh. Okay.â
He wasn't angry. He never got angry over little things like that.
He was sad. Resigned to the fact he would not be getting any of his favorite ice cream tonight.
Buck often felt like it'd be a lot easier if he just got angry.
He made it into the kitchen just as Tommy closed the freezer door. His face downcast, he glanced up at Buck through his eyelashes, eyes wide and wet. His bottom lip jutted out ever so slightly before he turned away from Buck and headed for the pantry.
âI'll have cookies instead,â he said with a sniff.
Buck got out his phone and pressed a few buttons before stuffing it back into his pocket and walking over to Tommy.
âHoney, why don't we just go sit down for a minute?â
âI just...â His shoulders sagged. âI really don't want cookies.â
Gently, Buck placed his hands on Tommy's back, nudging him until he could lead him toward the living room. âWhy don't we go sit on the couch, okay?â
Tommy simply nodded, but Buck could see him lift a hand to his face and wipe a tear off his cheek.
The thing was, Buck knew he could be a handful sometimes. He was bratty, pouty, stubborn, and jealous. And Tommy accepted all of that. Not just accepted it, loved it. He loved every part of Buck, even the parts Buck didn't love himself.
Buck also knew Tommy would do anything for him. Would drop whatever he was doing and run to Buck's side the second he got a call. Would wait on him hand and foot. He spoiled Buck rotten, and everyone knew it.
There weren't as many opportunities for Buck to reciprocate that level of love and support. But when these days came along, that what's Buck's time to shine. He hated to see Tommy like this, but loved that he could be there for him. Loved that he could help him through it. So that's what he did.
They got situated, Buck leaning against the arm rest with his legs sprawled out on the couch. He pulled Tommy down so his back rested against Buck's chest. Buck wrapped his arms around him, hands meeting just over his heart. Tommy's hands drifted up and latched onto Buck's, holding tight.
âWhy don't you tell me about work?â Buck asked, pressing a kiss to the top of Tommy's head. Things had been fine before they left for work the previous morning, so something had to have happened during their shift.
âI only had two calls.â
âAnd?â
âAnd the first one was a drunk driver. It was noon, Evan. Noon.â
âCasualties?â
Tommy shook his head. âNo, but a young girl got hit. Spinal injury. She probably won't walk again.â
Now Buck had a starting point.
âAfter that?â
Tommy's body tensed so Buck squeezed him tighter. âThe new probie, Jenkins, did something stupid and pissed me off.â
âWhat'd he do?â
âDoesn't matter.â
âIf it pissed you off, it matters.â
âHe's one of those religious types that carries pamphlets in their pockets,â Tommy explained. âI guess he overheard me talking about you- about us- a few weeks ago so he gifted me a pamphlet today.â
Buck knew where this was going. âYou're kidding me?â
âI wish. It was some Adam and Eve crap, not even original. It reminded me of my dad. He... He used to say things like that. Anyway, I threw the pamphlet away without reading it.â
âGood for you.â
Tommy shifted slightly, tangling his and Buck's legs together. âThe only thing that kept running through my mind was how we watched a little girl's life change forever, she will never walk again, and all Jenkins was thinking about was turning me straight.â
Buck brought a hand to Tommy's hair, carefully running his fingers through it. âI'm sorry, Tommy.â
âMy aunt texted me too. Wanted me to come to the next family reunion.â
âAre you gonna go?â
âI told her I'd have a plus one and she... she said she doesn't wanna hear my dad complain for an entire weekend. I was quickly uninvited.â
Buck took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. âI- If you wanna go-â
âThere's not a single part of me that wants to be there, especially without you. I'm good.â
âIf you're sure.â
âI'm sure.â
âWhat about your truck?â Buck asked. âYou were working on it when I got home.â
âOh. That.â Tommy rolled his eyes. âThat was the icing on the cake. Engine light came on in the middle of my drive home. I think I fixed the problem for now, but I'm gonna need a new engine soon. Everything just fell apart today, Evan, I- sorry.â
âYou don't need to be sorry.â Just then the doorbell rang and Buck gave Tommy a pat on the shoulder. âYou do need to get the door though. It's for you.â
Tommy sat up, eyebrows furrowing at Buck before he got up and headed for the door.
About thirty seconds later, he was back with a paper bag in hand. His eyes were soft and tear-filled, but not with sadness this time. âYou ordered my ice cream?â
Buck nodded, giving him a smile. âOf course I did.â
Tommy set the bag down and walked over to Buck, kneeling beside the couch and resting his head on Evan's lap. He wrapped his arms around Evan's waist the best he could, his face pressed against Evan's stomach. âI love you so much.â
After a few seconds, Buck stroked his thumb over Tommy's cheek. âCome here,â he said softly, pulling him up for a chaste kiss. âI love you too.â

Requesting sylus hurt/comfort where Sylus confessed his feelings to the reader but gets rejected (at first) cause reader thinks he either lost a bet or is doing this for a dare cause she had people do that to her before (this has happened to me like 4 times omlđ). How would he react to finding out what happened and reassuring her that he's sincere?
when he confesses & you think itâs a joke
Sylus stood in front of you, his usual confidence softened, as he finally let out the words youâd both been dancing around for so long. âIâm saying I⌠I want this. You and me.â
You blinked, processing his words before a small, disbelieving laugh slipped out. âGood one, Sylus. Whereâs the cameras?â You even glanced around the room, expecting someone to jump out with a punchline. His expression faltered, brow furrowing as he tried to make sense of your reaction.
âsweetie, you think Iâm joking?â he asked, his voice tinged with confusion and a hint of hurt. âIâm serious.â He stepped closer, searching your face.
When you saw the intensity in his eyes, your smile faded and a pang of guilt twisted in your chest. âWait, youâre⌠really serious?â He nodded, and you felt a wave of embarrassment. âI⌠Iâm sorry. I just thought⌠I mean, someone once did this to me as a joke said they wanted to be with me and then laughed about it.â
Sylusâs eyes darkened, a mixture of disbelief and anger flickering across his face. âSomeone actually played with your feelings like that?â He shook his head, jaw tense. âGuess Iâll have to show you how real I am about this.â He lifted your chin, his gaze steady and full of a warmth that left no room for doubt.
As the truth settled in, you felt your face flush and he smirked, a hint of his usual teasing tone returning. âNext time, youâll know better than to question me.â He brushed his thumb over your cheek, adding softly, âAnd I promise, Iâll never make you feel like itâs a joke.â

Blurred Lines
jenna ortega x female reader
summary: You and Jenna, best friends and actresses, are cast as lovers for the first time, tasked with bringing a romantic chemistry to the screen. But as scenes unfold, the lines between acting and reality begin to blur.
word count: 2.1k
a/n: This was actually the first Jenna story I wrote!
ââââ
What are you thinking so hard about? Jenna asks plopping down in the director's chair next to you.
After being best friends for years, you and Jenna have finally gotten the opportunity to work alongside each other on your latest film Lovestruck, a romance film where you two are playing the lead couple.
You. You wanted to say, but you were 8 years too deep in the friendzone to truly say what was on your mind. "Just the next scene," you smile at her tiredly.
Her eyes light up, "I've been looking forward to this scene for so long! God just look at that view Y/n! I'm so jealous of Lalya," she sighs, referencing the character she's playing in the film. "Just who wouldn't love to be confessed to here," your co-star finishes looking over at you with sparkles in her eyes.
When your manager gave you the script for this project, you could only laugh at how much the story paralleled your situation with Jenna. You were playing Quinn, a girl who has been in love with her friend for years, but couldn't do anything about it. Eventually the mixed signals and watching the one she loves be with others got too much, and Quinn angrily confesses by the lakefront during a sunset; the view Jenna was fawning over just a minute ago.
You could only wish that the aftermath of any potential confession of yours could resemble the one in this film. Layla ends up reciprocating Quinn's feelings and it's a happy ending.
Unfortunately the universe isn't as perfect as an angsty teen romance, and is rather a sick minded individual who gets a kick out of meddling with people's lives. For years you and Jenna have auditioned for the same projects to play friends, enemies, even sister's but why is it that the one project both of you manage to land is this one?
"Y/n/n!"
Startled, you look over at the girl who's been trying to get your attention for all this time while you zoned out. "Y-yeah sorry. You're right. It would be a dream to be confessed to here."
She hums and stands up before placing a hand on your shoulder looking intently into your eyes, "I'll see you on set after the break, hope you bring your A game Y/l/n," she winks with a smile before walking off.
Jenna walks over to Andrew another actor working the film and immediately starts laughing and touching his arm in conversation. You couldn't help but roll your eyes, but you also couldn't tear your eyes away from the scene that always happened to unfold in front of you.
It hurts you beyond belief watching your best friend interact flirtatiously with other people. Having to hear about rumoured boyfriends and especially having her not deny them. The mixed signals you got from the girl wasn't any help either, like what was that hand on the shoulder just now? The wink?!
You walk away trying your very best to calm yourself down before your big scene. Jenna frowned as she watched you walk away and towards your personal trailer.
ââââ
The director calls everyone to set and has prepared to shoot the big confession scene. The crew helps you and Jenna find your places and fixes up any imperfections in your clothing. As you stand before your co-star you're hit with a strong wave of emotions. The 20 minutes you spent in the trailer wasn't much help, and now as you watch Jenna who is looking at you curiously, you make a realization.
You may never confess to Jenna. How could you? This friendship was the greatest you've ever had and you were aware of the fact that friendships like this one, don't come easy. It would be insanely stupid of you to confess your love and single-handedly lose a gem like Jenna completely. The more you thought about it, the interactions between Andrew, the rumours with Percy, and countless other boys, the more helpless you felt. There was no way she could feel the same.
"You okay?" the gentle voice you've come to love speaks.
You're silent. She looks at you with her big doe eyes that you've come to love, but at this very moment you hate so much. The concern in her eyes is pushing you off the edge. You hated it. You hated how her caring nature has only gotten you falling tenfolds harder. Why does she have to be good to me, why does she torture me like this you ask yourself.
"Y/n/n."
You look away, refusing to look into her eyes, scared of the emotions you'll find in them, scared of finding out how much more you could fall in love with her in this moment, so you settle on the view of the sunset.
The director begins a 10 second countdown to cue in the start of the scene and you're still looking at the sunset pondering. This may be the only time that you'll ever speak the words of a confession to Jenna. Yes, to her it'll be you performing the script, Quinn speaking these words, but she doesn't have to know that you will mean all the words you speak with every fibre of your being.
A light smile plays on your lips as you think about the performance you're about to give and how it should get you nominated for all the acting awards in existence. The lines of Quinn and Y/n have blurred, and you are playing no character other then yourself.
You won't be acting.
"Action!"
The scene begins and you start marching away from Jenna like the script told you to.
"Wait- Stop!" Jenna says frantically grabbing on to your arm.You roll your eyes, shrugging her off and continue walking.
"Why do you insist on hurting me?" She shouts, following the script. You stop walking and pause. One beat. Two beat. Just like the script instructed. You turn around, glaring at her with more intensity than the script demands, "Me? Hurt you? That's rich coming from you."
Jenna hesitates, caught off guard by the seriousness in your voice, but quickly recovers, staying in character.
"Yes you asshole! I invite you to the lake house, and all you do is ignore me!" Groaning into your hands, you speak your next line. "Layla. You're joking right?"
"No Q, I'm not. Do you even care about me? It's my fucking birthday, and you're acting like I'm not even here, sulking in one of your moods and embarrassing me in front of my friends!"
"Then what am I?"
"What?"
You laugh, running your hands through your hair, struggling to keep your emotions in check.
"If those are your little fucking friends, then what am I to you?"
Jenna acted taken aback like she was supposed to, "My friend? My best friend? I don't know that's not the point! Wh-"
You cut her off, "But it is the point!"
You break the script.
You blink hard, letting the tears that were building up before the scene fall down your face.
Jenna had a look in her eyes that you've never seen before it was confusion and something else you couldn't pinpoint. Being the amazing actress that she is, she improvs her next line, so the scene can get back on track.
"Here you go again not wanting to address the real issue," she rolls her eyes.
You decide to stick to the script with tears streaming down your face. "I can't keep doing this anymore Layla," the words carrying the weight of years of hidden feelings. "Watching you with them, pretending I'm fine when I'm not. I can't just be your friend anymore."
Jenna's eyes widen, her character momentarily forgotten as she registers the raw emotion in your voice. "Quinn... what are you saying?"
You take a deep breath, letting it all out, the pain, the frustration, the love. You're about to do it and you hope that just for a second your performance will blur the lines for Jenna. "I'm saying that I'm in love with you, and I have been for a long time. And it kills me every time I see you with someone else, knowing I can't be the one to make you smile like that."
The silence that follows is deafening. You can feel your heart pounding in your chest, waiting for her response, both in character and out of it. The director's voice seems far away as he doesn't call cut, letting the scene play out naturally. For a moment you start to think that Jenna has forgotten her line, she's supposed to say, "For how long?"
But she goes off script.
She takes a step forward so she's only a foot away from you and takes your trembling hands (that you didn't even realize were shaking) in her own, an attempt to calm you down.
Jenna, as Layla, steps closer, her own tears glistening in the fading light. "Why didn't you tell me sooner, Quinn? Why did you let me go on thinking we were just friends?"
Your voice cracks as you respond, "Because I was scared. Scared of losing you, scared of ruining what we have. But I can't keep pretending anymore."
Jenna reaches up, gently cupping your face with her hands, her touch warm and soft. "You idiot," she whispers, her voice trembling. "How could you not know? How could you think for even a second that I didn't feel the same way?"
Her words hit you like a ton of bricks, and for a moment you forget that you're on set, that this is all supposed to be a performance. It feels too real, too raw.
"T-then what about everything I see? All those guys?" You say staying true to the script, but you couldn't hold your tongue and add, "The rumours? The interactions I always see?"
Jenna clearly seems taken aback by your addition to the script, and opens her mouth and closes it, at a loss for words.
You can't help yourself and continue, "Do you have any idea what it's like to watch you with other guys? To see you flirt with everyone else and feel like I'm just...invisible?"
Jenna's heart races as she realizes the depth of your feelings, the lines between the script and reality blurring completely.
Jenna continues, the rest of the scene now being pure improv. With tears in her eyes, "I wasn't trying to hurt you...Q. I wanted you to notice me. To see me the way I see you.
You freeze, your heart pounding in your chest. Jenna's voice is trembling, her gaze locked on yours, and for the first time you realize she's not just playing a role. She's confessing, right here, in front of everyone.
"I've been in love with you for so long," you get out through tears, "But all I've ever seen is you with them... like I don't even exist."
The shorter girl steps closer, dropping the last remnants of her character. Her hands reach up to cup your face, her touch gentle and filled with unspoken emotion.
"I didn't know how to tell you, Quinn. I was scared, so I tried to make you jealous, provoke you into action, hoping you'd finally do something. I-I was hoping you'd see how much I care. How much I...love you.
Your breath catches, your heart pounds in your ears, and you break character completely not caring anymore, in a trembling voice you ask, "You really feel the same way?"
Jenna nods, tears spilling over as she smiles, a mixture of relief and vulnerability in her expression.
"Yes, Q. I've always felt this way. I was just too scared to admit it... but not anymore."
You blink, struggling to process what's happening. This wasn't in the scriptânone of this was. But it's real, and it's happening now.
You smile through the tears, "Then let's stop pretending, Jenna. No more games... I'm yours if you'll have me.
Jenna lets out a small, tearful laugh, pulling you into a tight embrace. The cameras are still rolling despite your name drop, but none of that matters anymore. She pulls back just enough to look at you, her eyes shining with a love that's no longer hidden.
"I've always been yours. Always."
In that moment, you lean in, pressing your lips to hers in a kiss that's filled with all the years of longing and love you've both kept hidden. When you finally pull away, you're both breathless, tears of happiness mingling with the raw emotion of the scene.
The director calls "Cut," but neither of you moves, still lost in each other's eyes. For a moment, the set is silent, the crew unsure if they've just witnessed the best acting of your careers or something far more real. But you both know the truthâand it's better than any script that could have been written.

Okay I actually really hate this take Iâm sorry. Anakin was not possessive or selfish and thatâs not what the Jedi taught him.
The way I think of it is that Jedi pursue inner peace by disconnecting themselves emotionally from situations, they feel empathy in a very detached way. Thatâs what having no attachments means. Itâs in the word. The Jedi are Detached from reality as it is perceived by humans.
The Force gives Jedi a glimpse of what it is to be a 4th dimensional entity with consciousness no trapped in a single moment in time. So to a certain extent they donât actually perceive time linearly and thus do not feel theyâve lost something because it still exists in the past.
So now that weâve established that yes Jedi are detached from the present letâs move onto the more problematic statement about selfishness and possessiveness.
It is not selfish to want unconditional love. Thatâs basic human nature. Anakin, a person who clearly suffers from borderline personality disorder which comes with symptoms such as fear of abandonment, an unstable view of the self, devaluing or overvaluing relationships to the point placing of oneâs self-worth entirely in another personâs hands, and more, literally needs unconditional love and support. And he developed this disorder in large part because of the Jedi order and the way they treated him. He was simultaneously considered the âchosen oneâ and considered a burden or a problem. He had to change everything about the way he thought to fit the prescribed mold of what a Jedi should be, and he was held to higher standards because of his perceived âchosen oneâ status and people were disappointed when he failed to meet them. I know from experience how truly awful it is to be told âi know you can do betterâ in a disappointed voice when youâre honestly trying your best.
And thatâs not even touching on how in Phantom Menace he created strong bonds with both Qui-Gon and PadmĂŠ only to have both of the ripped away right after heâd left behind everything he knew and loved. After the movie he was around nothing familiar or comfortable. He didnât know Obi-Wan and he knew that Obi-Wan hadnât actually wanted him as an apprentice or even in the Jedi order. So he was surrounded by a bunch of people who all thought he didnât belong and only let him stay because of a dead manâs wishes. He was NINE and being told that everything he ever learned was wrong and backwards and leads to being evil and that he needs to be perfect for anyone else to think he belonged because even the smallest mistake would just confirm their preconceived beliefs about him.
And thatâs not even mention Sidiousâs manipulation. Anakin never would have become anything like Vader without Sidious leading him.
Also! There is a difference between possessive and protective! Anakin is protective! He has lost so much heâs clinging desperately to what he has! He wants to protect the one good thing in his life. He doesnât try to control PadmĂŠ, they actually have a very healthy relationship, itâs the situation thatâs toxic. Anakin doesnât view PadmĂŠ as a possession, I donât know why anyone would think that. Oh wait the Clovis arcs. Right. Those exist and other people actually consider them canon. Thatâs a whole ânother rant about writing that Iâm not going to get into here. But letâs make this one thing clear, Clone Wars Anakin and movie Anakin are 2 totally different characters psychologically because of the awful reception of the prequel trilogy when it came out.
"no attachments" in SW literally just means "don't be selfish and possessive". that's it. that's all there is. doesn't mean jedi can't have friends and loved ones. they can. just. don't be possessive and selfish about it. don't murder thousands of people in an effort to save one.
#star wars#jedi order#jedi#anakin skywalker#mental illness in fiction#the jedi code is bullshit#bpd#anakin has bpd he needs unconditional love#that is not selfish!!#and thereâs a difference between possessive and protective!

I haven't said as much about electoral politics this year as I have in previous cycles, because I am exhausted like everyone else and have nothing new or helpful to add. That is still true, so caveat lector I guess lmao!!! Happy American Election Day Fellow Sufferers!!
I have been experiencing an internal backlash the last few years to my extremely Sorkinpilled D.C. private school upbringing -- my childhood spent as a kind of convent schoolgirl in the faith of The System Is Good If We All Participate, which of course has a uhhh let's say generously a minimal engagement with the ways in which many of us are by design shut out of participating. I don't think idealism is necessarily childish, but I think MY idealism certainly has childish qualities, an undergirding of 90s feel-goodism, of civic participation as a subtle ego stroke and of voting -- although I would never have consciously put it this way -- as a way to feel superior to people who don't vote.
Lately there has bubbled up in me a sludgy, adolescent fury at this whole stupid country that has made it very very hard to feel like I should do even the bare minimum. For these people? AMERICANS? The ones that not only want Donald Trump to be president but saw what happened the first time and were like, We love this, do it again but worse? Whatever, fuckos. "I hope you people get your dearest wish and it chews you to death slowly," I may have thought.
I have also thought: why is it so controversial to ask elected officials to stop funding a genocide? Why are we treating people who make that ask, who are watching the current administration directly fund death on a mass scale and objecting to that choice, as if they are being babies and just need to get over it? How are they supposed to get over it? Why is anybody over it?
Anyway all this means that I, a known chipper door-knocker and caller of congresspeople, have been pretty low-key this current cycle. I think that is OK. I don't want to make this a big dramatic confessional about how I didn't write enough postcards or whatever. We all get exhausted and this was my turn.
But it has also been an illuminating cycle in that it's made it clear to me how much at my big age I still want politics to make me feel good, and when they don't, I still have the urge to throw a lil tantrum about it! I can get very superior and intellectual about how right-wing operatives manipulate their voters emotionally WITHOUT EVEN NOTICING that I too have been manipulated, in my case into the feeling that nonparticipation is a kind of revolutionary act.* Just absolute "I threw it on the GROUND" logic happening inside my head. "Maybe if I don't vote I will be doing Quiet Quitting, which is uhhhhh anticapitalist." I'm not a part of your system!!!
Anyway, I am trying to have self-compassion about it, and one way for me to do that is to project my internal experience onto a theoretical reader. That would be you, my imaginary friend who clicked on this post for some reason even though you have already decided not to vote! I just want to tell you that I am more sympathetic to your point of view than I have ever been in my whole life, and I'm sorry I have historically been a glib, holier-than-thou asshole about it in ways that may actually have made you MORE resistant to civic participation.
And you're right: it doesn't make that big a difference whether I personally vote or not, or whether you do. But if there are hundreds of us, and I think there are, then each of those people individually do starts to matter.
I guess I would humbly request that you and I both pay attention to what people who need help are actually asking for. I would ask that we both notice who wins when we abdicate this single responsibility. I would remind us both that participating in the electoral process is not some kind of weird either-or with participating in decentralized community building and mutual aid, and the best people we know do both. Isn't it interesting that somehow, insidiously, without even consciously becoming aware of this belief, we have started to think that you can only do one or the other? Who is telling us that story? Who does it serve?
Anyway. I took the stupid 90 minute round trip to my polling place which was VERY hot for some reason and I stood in the stupid line and some babies waved at me and I cast my vote for Kamala Harris and I'm glad I did it in the same way I'm glad after I do the dishes or take a stupid shower. Doing work doesn't always feel like anything. I also saw a really wonderful small black and white dog that I thought was a cat on a leash. I would not have seen that dog if I hadn't gone to vote. So politics can still make you feel good!!!
*I mean all this analysis is cute and everything BUT ALSO i did switch antidepressants twice in the last year, an astonishingly grueling process that almost made me [affect the trout population]. Could these things be related? hmmmmmmm, don't understand the question, won't respond to it.

thinking of stranger!miguel accidentally catching pornstar!reader masturbating in her car
you had been meaning to film this type of video for a long while now but never able to get one of your sex worker friends to help you be a stranger that helps you out due to different schedules.
alas you decided to do it and risk an actual person finding you and secretly hoping that they do help you.
your camera was already set and rolling with you in the driver's seat, right leg over the center console and right hand rubbing your clit. you were looking right at the camera as you moaned and played with your tits with your other hand.
the dress you were wearing was above your stomach and you teasingly would bring the fabric from your tits down, just to barely see your nipples only to leave it as is.
you could feel a slight breeze since you left the tinted window a bit down in case any perv had the urge to take a peek inside. you were already playing for a good ten minutes, edging yourself just praying someone would not only walk by but also help.
a couple people have walked past, not seeing or hearing you but it did bring some excitement as you watched them. you were starting to grow impatient so maybe itâd be a shorter video for the channel.
meanwhile, miguel was coming back from taking a jog at his usual trail and was on his way back home. he did more than usual so he just walked back when he suddenly walked past a car and heard a moan.
he stopped in his tracks and couldnât help but look into the small opening just to see you fingering yourself with your eyes closed. his eyes were wide and he couldnât believe the sight.
this was something straight out of a porno and although you didnât see him, the camera sure did.
his head was out of frame and the black wife beater was stuck to his skin. his arms were out and that was all the camera would be able to see of him.
his breath shortened and he gulped, absolutely shocked heâd be able to witness something so dirty but also hot. and by a gorgeous girl too?
heâd have to get a lottery ticket after this.
he straightened up and thought of what he should do. realistically he knew what he wanted to do but he was a complete stranger, maybe it was too much.
âŚ
but then again there wouldnât be another opportunity like this.
he watched you for a few more seconds, admiring the way your tits bounced while you fucked yourself harder. finally he made his move. he cleared his throat and lightly tapped on the window making you gasp and turn your head to the left to see a handsome man looking at you.
hopefully it was your lucky day.
âare you alright?â he asks and you quickly nod, âi am now..â
his cheeks grow warm and heâs not sure what to do next. you give him a smile and decide to go for it, âiâm filming a video and was hoping iâd get lucky enough to get some helpâŚâ
âdo you wanna help me?â you ask, looking directly into his eyes as he just nods.
you pushed the button and made the window go all the way down then reach for his right arm. he reaches inside, getting as close to your car while you guide his hand to your tits. you pulled the top of the dress down, exposing your tits to him then made him touch them.
he squeezed the right one first making you moan because another persons hand would always be better than your own. he went to the other one and squeezed your nipple gently, you spread your legs a bit more just so he could have enough space.
he was too busy groping your tits to notice, at least that was until you pulled his arm up to your face. you grabbed his wrist and slipped two fingers into your mouth, sucking on them with your eyes boring into his while you made sure they were nice and wet.
you pulled them out with a plop and quickly brought his arm down between your legs and he slipped them inside without hesitation. he moved slowly, giving you time to get use to it while you you moaned and held onto his arm to urge him to do more. he took notice and went deeper, your slippery walls entrapping them while he set a fast pace for you.
âoh f-fuck- yes!â you moaned and bucked your hips up. his fingers were much thicker than yours, actually able to stretch you out unlike your own. it was just what you needed.
miguel was watching the way your pussy just took his fingers in, your wetness already dripping down when heâs only just started. what he didnât know was youâve been edging and just having a complete stranger do this could make you cum at any second.
you held onto his arm, holding on tightly as he pumped them faster and harder making you a moaning mess for him. he felt his shorts become tighter and he knew he was done for.
âyou like that baby?â he murmurs and you quickly nod with a slight pout on your lips.
your brain was already mush, not actually thinking one of your fantasies would come true but happy they did with someone so fine. and the fact that he knew what he was doing was the cherry on top.
âsuch a dirty girl huh? playing with yourself in public like this?â he murmured and you clenched against his fingers.
you whimpered and laid your head to the side by the seatbelt while he continued, âso fucking wet too, you really wanted this to happen didnt you, baby?â
you nodded, not trusting yourself to speak as you felt a knot form in your stomach. you let go of his arm and brought your right hand to quickly rub your clit, feeling the strong urge to squirt, knowing you should stop but itâd feel so good.
âthatâs it baby, such a good girl. gonna cum for me? just gonna cum for a stranger?â he murmured lowly, able to feel you squeeze and just watching your body contort in pleasure.
âfuck- p-please donât stop-â you whimpered out and felt your legs start to shake.
âiâve got you gorgeous, come on give it to me.â he purred and that did it for you.
you cried out as your juices quickly came out of you, he slipped his fingers out and replaced yours on your clit so he could make sure every drop comes out. you whimpered and moaned as he went from rubbing your clit fast as you reached your climax to suddenly slow when nothing else came out.
he stopped and left his hand on your thigh, murmuring sweet praises as you calmed yourself down and closed your legs. you closed your eyes, deciding that if you didnât look at the disaster then it simply wasnât there. not only are you too tired to clean it all up, you were in absolute shock that actually happened.
your breathing was steady again and you opened your eyes, turning to look out the window and at him. he really was gorgeous and if you werenât so beat youâd offer to suck him off in the backseat but you were exhausted.
âthank you, stranger. gonna have to make a rain check on when i can make it up to youâŚâ you say and he chuckles.
he shrugs and gives you a smile, âthereâs really no need. canât deny a pretty girl when she needs help.â
you grinned and shrugged, turning to open your center console, grabbing a business card and then handing it to him, âwell if you change your mindâŚâ
he grabbed it and nodding as he put it in his pocket, âiâll let you know.â
he gave you one final smile before walking the way he was going before he stopped, now having to do the walk of shame with a hard on and wet fingers.

The Legendary Mermaid
Another commission!
They asked for a Legend and Reader where mermaids are involved. I'd explain more but I don't want to spoil it. XD
Masterlist
Content under the cut!
Link didnât think much of you at first. You were clumsy. Uncoordinated. One of the most ungraceful beings he has ever had the⌠um... pleasure to meet.
You spoke in broken Hylian but he could understand you well enough. When he stumbled into you on the beach he tried to go through the number of languages that he knew were native to the area but none of them seemed to click with you.
You were excitable and wobbly. You looked straight out of a ship wreck so you could have been from anywhere.
Still- Link wasnât about to abandon you when you clearly had no idea where you were.
He took you into his village, set you up with a place to stay with some helpful neighbors and thought that his duty of care was done. He was wrong.
Turns out! You had a habit of running off in the middle of the day and going off to who knows where. The first time it happened, poor Gulley was in a tizzy trying not to panic because he thought you were just really good at hide and seek and he didnât want you to miss dinner. But he couldnât find you anywhere.
More people got involved.
They still had no idea where you went. Hours passed and the sun went down but no one had a clue where their strange and sudden visitor could have gone off to.
Link suddenly had the terrible thought that maybe you went off into the lake and something terrible happened. He ran as fast as he could but his panic happened to be unfounded.
You were there, soaking wet but otherwise unharmed, playing a small hermit crab that had somehow made it out of the water.
Link had half the mind to scold you, but your innocent giggles at the tiny creature had enough incentive to get him to calm down first. He bought you back where many of the aunties and elders fussed over you before giving you a warm bowl of soup and tucking you away for the night.
Your galavanting happened at least every other day. It didnât take long for Link to realize that everytime you went missing, you were actually just by some body of water.Â
He thought that maybe you just had a childish way of exploring. Or maybe you just liked to splash and swim. He wasnât one to judge. He just wished you told people where you were going and when you planned to be back so no one would worry about you.
When you decided to stay in the village and interact with other humans for a change, you were like a fish out of water.Â
You crashed into walls. You tripped over your own two feet. You would lose your balance at the oddest of times.
âWhoa!â Link caught you the arm before you could fall over and land face first into a pile of mud. âYou know⌠You walk like a newborn deer.â
âWhat is deer?â You ask on impulse.
Link pauses and gives you a questioning look but decides to keep his judgment silent. Maybe thereâs just no deer where youâre from. Somehow. Which would be strange considering how popular they are. Then again, youâve never mentioned how you got to where they are or where you grew up. It seemed to be the only topic you actively avoided talking about.
âAn animal.â Link says instead. âThey have skinny legs and they begin walking on the day theyâre born. The males have horns on their heads.â
â....Do they shine? Many colors?â You ask with a hopeful expression on your face.
Link hates to be the bearer of bad news, but he finds that he canât lie to you. âNot really. They hide a lot so they look like golden grass and dried leaves.â
âGrass.â You stand up straighter, still holding onto his arm. â...HmâŚâ
Link has no idea how to respond to that.
âYes.â He tries anyway. âTheyâre actually quite big once theyâre fully grown. Theyâre majestic creatures.â
âMagic?â You tilt your head.
âNo magic.â He shakes his head. â Ma-ges-tic.â
â...Oh.âÂ
Is he going crazy or do you sound disappointed? Link swallows the spit in his throat, not sure why he feels the need to not only make you feel better, but to also impress you. âMost animals canât do magic but theyâre still very impressive. You know- if you want, we can always go into the forest and look for them. Howâs that sound?â
You smile, but it doesnât seem to reach your eyes.
Link feels his heart bob. Heâs not sure if heâs doing this right. âMaybe tomorrow, yeah? After Iâm done with my work in the forge, Iâll come look for you and we can go explore some more.â
Your eyes light up a little more genuinely and you nod enthusiastically to boot.
Link feels better about this suddenly.
Until tomorrow rolls around and youâre once again nowhere to be found.
Link wants to ram his head into the nearest wall. How could he forget? It was a âGo for a Swim Dayâ today. It was part of your pattern. Did he just forget all his senses suddenly?
Groaning for the extra mileage he has to walk, he heads home first to collect some stuff for the journey. Surely you would be hungry at some point, right? Maybe he can make it a picnic too. Thereâs a nice spot that overlooks the valley that he knows of. You seem to be the type of person who enjoys the simple things his home has to offer.
Not only that but you seem rather focused on finding magical items. Or at least you try to find something magical in every nook and cranny. âŚHe has a few magical items. That can impress you! He packs his magic mirror, his fire arrows and his mermaid tail. Youâll probably find a river or pond that youâd want to jump in. Since you love to swim so much, maybe heâll join you just this once and show off a bit. Surely youâve never seen anything like it.
Once he has everything set, he checks the nearby creek first- hoping you didnât decide to splash around and find out.
Nothing.
Not a stone unturned and not a single piece of evidence that anyone had been here earlier.Â
Link groans louder and turns on his heel to head down to the lake instead. He knows heâs being dramatic, but youâre not around to witness his pettiness, so heâs at liberty to do what he wants.
His feet are aching by the time he finally makes it to the lake. He kicks off his shoes to walk along the warm sandband before he begins his search anew. Thereâs not much that he thinks he has to look for. A bag? Some footprints? A discarded shirt or something? Your shoes by the side of the bank?
He finds⌠nothing.
âWhere are you?â Link growls and flops onto the dirt. He pouts and puts his cheeks in his palms as he tries to think about what to do next. There goes his plans for the afternoon. And probably well into the evening at that.Â
Link canât help the sinking feeling of disappointment in his chest at the thought of being stood up. Not this was any big deal or anything- but he didnât realize how much he was actually looking forward to this moment until he couldnât have it.
Well.. Heâs at the lake anyway. And he has the mermaid tail. Heâll get something for you. He can dive to the bottom of the lake and find something cool for you!
Link shimmies the tail on without a second thought and crawls into the water. The magic takes effect at once. He takes his first deep breath and pushes himself further into the cold. He feels his legs become intertwined with his item. The cold loses the sting the further he goes and although it takes a bit longer for his brain to adjust than heâd like, Link is quickly swimming deeper and deeper to where no other Hylian has gone before.
His eyes take longer to adjust. Considering heâs more worried about not forgetting that he can now breathe underwater, heâs still to ignore that little tidbit. All he has to do is swim straight down anyway.
Something moves to his left.
Link stops dead in his tracks.
âWhat?â He blurts. The sound he makes is warbled, broken as it always is when he tries to speak underwater.
In a split second, the figure blasts in front of him, sending him back a few feet. He brings up his arms to block any unwanted water from going up his nose and growls.
You poke his arm two seconds later.
âAH!â He screams without meaning to.
You seem just as perplexed and confused. You tilt your head and swim back just enough so that you can see him in his entirety. âLink?â
Your voice has changed too, but not quite like his does when heâs in this form. Your voice is clear as crystal and he can physically feel the waves it produces as they curl around his ears and his body.
He repeats your name with the same shocked reverence.
You break out into excited chitters and clicks, sounds heâs never heard before poke all around his body and he thinks he can feel the very effect they have on his brain.
You swim back over to him and twirl him around in earnest. You look delighted to see him here.
Link takes the moment to also look you over.
A mermaid.
He flushes when he sees more than heâs bargained for. Of course. What purpose do clothes serve to a mermaid?
You swim circles around him. The movement is graceful and borderline poetic, nothing like the way you move on land. Your tail was glittery and bejeweled with colors he hadnât known could sparkle in the low light of the lake water. It trailed after you like a silk scarf or a skilled ribbon dancer.
He was staring.
You seemed to have caught on quickly that he was enthralled by your body. A part of you wonders why. Another feels the need to be embarrassed. Youâve dressed in the way of the finless for so long that youâve almost adopted their shameful thinking to cover up one's form. The third and final part of you actually likes his attention. Heâs impressed. Enamored, almost. This is the part of you that wins.
Smirking, you decide to metaphorically test the waters and dance around him some more, brushing your tail against his and pulling him this way and that with your dance alone. You swim away for just a second, wanting to play some more with the strange boy that can be of both worlds.
Link jolts out of the trance youâve put him in and skips to follow you.
You laugh.
His breath catches in his throat at the sound of subtle trills and chirps. Link freezes completely in his spot. Your laugh tickles him even as he begins to sink from the lack of movement once more.
âYou swim worse than a guppy.â
Link falters and the ethereal moment for him is shattered in an instant.
âHey!â He says instead.
You laugh again, sending more pins and needles over his skin and tail and begin to swim laps around him, clearly showing off your superior swimming agility. You play with him some more, poking and annoying him but swimming away before he can retaliate and poke you back.
The game catches on from there.
Link is, unfortunately, in over his head and he has to admit proverbial defeat minutes into it. It doesnât stop him from playing anyway. This is arguably the most free heâs ever seen you and heâs not about to ruin it anymore than his lack of grace does on its own.
Itâs nice.

everytime i read this series i feel like im entering the battlefield đŹđŽâđ¨my annotations below hehe âŹď¸
It was unthinkable to be contemplating about gravestones. How could you sum up your family in limited words or dates, let alone choose a font for it?
ur writing has such PERSONALITY in it, i swear to god when i read this in beta, i was so in awe
Your first thought had been telling Topper, your only real family left, but he was as much Rafeâs as he was yours, and when it came down to it, he was still his best friend. Loyal to him since they were five, and jesus knows how heâd react if he found out about this. Heâd most likely freak the fuck out and tell Rafe everything, thinking he was doing the right thing, or worse, letting it slip to Ruthie.
this parallels perfectly to the first chapter where topper called rafe when reader was leaving, so not only is this paragraph giving us an at-point breakdown, but it's referring evidence that topper would slip and tell rafe
Itâs then you recognized how small your world was. How few people were truly yours.
their lives are so intertwined that reader doesn't know who to turn to when she needs independence đ oh curse rafe and his big dick
Today, it was just you, a few kids and teens dotted along the beach with oversized trash bags. It wasnât even noon, but the sun felt like it was scorching you alive. It was laughable, really, standing under this blistering sun with a cheap trash bag and an endless stretch of sand to clean.Â
this specific paragraph i wanted to highlight because i thought it was so descriptive and imaginative, but simplistic in a way that didn't feel like it was purple prose.
The kids were watching you again, with that look of curiosity. You couldnât look them in the eye. It wasnât their fault. They just didnât understand that sometimes the grown-ups didnât know what they were doing either.Â
the last line EATS BITCH IT EATS
 âYou should sit down.â
oh suck a dick
It was hard to believe the two of you had once burned hotter than any bonfire, two people who got under each otherâs skin, in love, and in hate.
in love to hate omg
Instead, he narrowed his eyes, âYou think I donât know what fine looks like? I was there.â
THIS IS SO COLD BUT IT SHOWED HOW THEIR RELATIONSHIP IS SO WELL, HOW INTERTWINED THEY ARE WITH ONE ANOTHER
And the worst part? You could see that frustration in his eyes, the same look he used to give you when heâd reached his limit with you. You wondered if he ever got to that point with Sofia.
i would crashout
Sofiaâthe one who looked like she'd been ripped off from some perfect postcard, all wide-eyed sweetness and gentle smiles. She probably never challenged him, snapped back, or made him want to pull his hair out.
hm.
This was a version of you only Rafe could bring out.
they're so toxic and dynamic and i love them
Your chest hurt like youâd been run over a hundred timesâit felt suffocating. âI hate you.â For the first time, you thought he might actually leave you here.Â
that stopped me cold i had to write something in my diary
His fingers stopped as if your words had made an impact, his lips pressed into a thin line. Your vision blurred as he leaned in, his touch hovering as if to wipe away the tear running down your cheek, but he didnât, instead, he closed his hand into a fist and drew back, his face just inches from yours. A faint, humorless smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he clicked the seatbelt into place. He made a low humming noise, that thing he did when he was getting ready to make someone feel two inches tall.  "Yeah? Get in line."
LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN I'M LISTENING TO BAD OMENS BY 5SOS AND IT'S AT THE BEATS AND WHILE I READ THIS, IT FITTED PERFECTLY OHMYGOD
Rafe drove fast, every rev of the engine matching the churning in your stomach perfectly. You sat there, trembling, the dread building with every mile that passed. You gripped the seatbelt so hard it felt like your entire body might go numb, and stared straight ahead, breathing shallow, trying to ignore the sting in your eyes.
i wanted to highlight this specific paragraph because i adore the writing, something about it made me feel every single atom of the scene
âWould you stop?â His voice softened for the first time, as if he was trying to reach some part of you that he thought still cared. âYou look like you havenât slept in days, like you havenât eaten anything that wasnât out of a vending machine. I know you donât want my help, but can you just stop for a second andââ âAnd what?â you interrupted. âAnd think! If you donât get in there, Iâll drag you in myself.â Your heart raced, âYou wouldnât dare.â Rafe stepped closer; his jaw set in determination. âTry me.â âYouâre not coming in." He blinked like the idea hadnât even occurred to him. âWhat?â
HE DIDN'T EXPECT THAT SHIT NO NO
âYeah, I got someone.â
that's right baby tell em
đ â ugh, something about this part has been so dynamic, in the way it's constructed, the way it flows so naturally, the way the dialogues are so emotionally-charged but bounces off one another seamlessly. it was like i was watching a perfectly-curated film, where the dialogues were performed by seasoned actors. i love love their arguments. i love how intense it always gets, how they have this push-pull against each other, this hate-love, this line they can't even comprehend nor define. and i love how you written it so beautifully, that you communicate the intensity and depth of this relationship but aggression, tension, and hurt.
LOVED YOU AT YOUR WORST - r.c series - FIVE
pairings: ex!sweethearts; rafe x thornton!reader; rafe x sofia. chapter warnings: mention of pregnancy; abortion; lack of self-care
Youâve had to make a lot of unfortunate decisions in your life.
Choosing a place for your entire family to rest for eternity, picking the caskets, the headstonesâit felt like deciding which curtains to buy for the house, except you were burying your entire close family.
After the crash, your parents were gone instantly, just like thatâno goodbyes, no warning, just there one moment and gone the next.
But your sister survived. Three days. You thought maybe that was a sign, sheâd live despite everything, and you wouldnât be left alone.
Two weeks later, the doctors told you it was time, but you couldnât accept it. You held her hand, begging her to stay, telling her every promise you could think of if she opened her eyes.
When the monitors finally went flat, you couldnât feel anything but desperation. Rafe had to pull you out of there, his arms locked around you while you kicked and screamed, sobbing and begging your sister not to go, not to leave you here.
You fought him with everything you had left, clawing, crying, pleading for just one more second. You were screaming so loud you didnât even recognize your voice. Everything good had been ripped away from your hands, there was nothing left of the world youâd known.
After that, you remember sitting in some stuffy funeral home office, skimming through catalogs and hardly seeing the pages through your tears. The caskets all looked the same, the types of wood made no difference to you, fabric linings, all of it felt so wrong.Â
None of it was a choice you should have to make.Â
It was unthinkable to be contemplating about gravestones. How could you sum up your family in limited words or dates, let alone choose a font for it?
You just picked something neutral and blank, something that didnât require thought or emotion because, by then, you had nothing left to give.Â
Now you were trapped again, caught between a rock and a hard place.
Ruthieâno chance youâd involve her. Sheâd just see this as another fucked up piece of gossip she could hold over your head, another way to judge or control you. She was âfriendâ only in the loosest sense of the word.
Kelce was the last person youâd consider turning to for something this serious. He has always been there, but you never got close. He was too much of an instigator, always pushing Rafe to do reckless things heâd regret later, peer pressuring him in ways that made you wonder if he even knew what loyalty meant. He had this weird loyalty to Ruthie, defending her comments as if she was some misunderstood angel when really, she was just⌠mean.
So that left Sarah.Â
It felt weird, thinking of her as the person youâd call on for something so serious, she was the only one who felt⌠safe. She wouldnât judge, wouldnât pry, sheâd seen what the worst kind of family conflict could do, and sheâd keep this private, just for you.
Itâs then you recognized how small your world was. How few people were truly yours.
You were pretty sure no one in this town would fully understand, theyâd just offer their "advice," as if they knew you, seen what youâd been through.Â
The truth was, they didnât know shit. They hadn't seen you holding your sisterâs hand, begging her to stay alive. They didnât know what it was like to bury everything that made you feel like a person, like you belonged somewhere, and have to get up the next day like nothing happened.
Nine days, you would be halfway across the country, and you needed someone. You pictured saying it out loud: âIâm pregnant", just those two words, to someoneâs face, you had no idea what to say next.
Maybe youâd tell them that it wasnât about wanting it gone out of spite or shame, but because you couldnât bring a child into a world where you felt this alone.
Earlier that morning, youâd stared down at your phone, thumb itching to click on Sarahâs name, like just pressing "call" could fix everything. You despised how needy it made you feelâreaching out, when youâd prided yourself on surviving alone.Â
You didnât have much time to ponder about it, because you were stuck at the beach cleanup.
Just like every other summer, another "social responsibility" event that your late fatherâs foundation insisted you smile through. Even back then, when they were alive, your summers were a carousel of charity galas, fundraisers, endless hours of small talk, and impeccably arranged seating charts.
The board members of the foundation probably thought it would âgroundâ youâremind you of your privilege, of your âresponsibilityâ to give back. As if a couple of hours and a few bags of garbage would somehow balance the scales. They never seemed to understand how much of it was all for show, this shallow idea that if you looked the part, no one would care to learn more.
But, still, youâd show up. You always did. Smile, make just enough small talk to appease the right people.Â
Today, it was just you, a few kids and teens dotted along the beach with oversized trash bags. It wasnât even noon, but the sun felt like it was scorching you alive. It was laughable, really, standing under this blistering sun with a cheap trash bag and an endless stretch of sand to clean.Â
Kie, who was so genuinely invested in this whole âsave the planetâ thing it was almost enviable was there too with JJ, who was running around her as usual, wearing his âIâm just here for the rideâ expression but enjoying himself. The love between them made you miss having someone who cared in ways that werenât just calculated moves.
She waved at you from the shoreline, her eyes moving to the trash bag you were barely half-filling.
You werenât friends, but if Sarah liked her, you did too.
You offered a faint smile back, tired, because between all the shit youâd been thinking about, you'd forgotten to eat, to drink anything, and every time you leaned down to grab another crumpled plastic bottle or a bit of seaweed-laden garbage, you felt like your legs were about to give out on you.Â
Every now and then, she would throw a quick, appraising glance your way, like she was expecting you to miraculously become invested in the beachâs ecosystem.
You didnât have it in you to pretend this was enjoyable today. The âeffortlessâ philanthropy your family loved was a lifestyle youâd never bought into. It didnât matter how many smiling photos of you had ended up on some charityâs social mediaâyou knew youâd rather be anywhere else.
You had to take a break every few minutes, leaning against a pier post, trying to get yourself together as a few of the younger kids gave you wary glances. You could have leftâprobably should have.
You managed a tight-lipped smile, giving a thumbs-up that said, Just doing great over here, guys!
You were in a long t-shirt, which hung over your bikini and shorts, the fabric slightly oversized, to help hide what was still a small change in your body. Paranoia was your new best friend, always worrying that someone would notice something different, even if you didnât have a noticeable bump yet.
Bending down to grab another plastic bottle, you felt a stab of nausea hit you hard, rolling up from your stomach, thick and sour, but you ignored it. Not here. Not now.
You straightened up too fast, and your vision blurred slightly, that familiar sense of vertigo hitting you. You took a shallow breath, ignoring the burn at the back of your throat, your hands shaking slightly as you adjusted the bag slung over your shoulder.
One girl looked up at you with these wide eyes kids like to pull, âAre you okay?âÂ
You smiled, brushing it off as if you werenât about two seconds away from collapsing. âOf course. Just... need a second.âÂ
The kids were watching you again, with that look of curiosity. You couldnât look them in the eye. It wasnât their fault. They just didnât understand that sometimes the grown-ups didnât know what they were doing either.Â
Just a few more bags of trash and youâd be able to get back to your car, maybe grab some water from the cooler in the trunk, sit down, and think about it.
This used to be easy, you got a weird kind of enjoyment from these cleanups, running around with your sister, making it a competition to see who could pick up the most trash, laughing until your stomachs hurt over stupid jokes about jellyfish and sunscreen. Back then, this was just one of a thousand little family traditions, one of those things that felt effortless.
Now, sweat dripped down the back of your neck, making your skin prickle uncomfortably.
Youâd long given up wiping it away, knowing that it would only come back thicker and hotter the next second. Every instinct told you to run off to the parking lot, and sit in the car with the AC blasting until your body remembered it didnât hate you.
Leaning down for one last bottle wedged in the sand, your legs wobbled and gave way beneath you. Just like that, your vision was spotty, as if someone had turned down the brightness on the entire beach, and you pitched forward.
Just as you felt yourself going down, a hand caught your arm, pulling you back up.
"Whoa, whoa, you okay?" A teenage boy, maybe sixteen, gripped your arm firmly, keeping you upright.
How much longer could they realistically expect you to go on, plastering on that sweet, dutiful smile? How much âgroundingâ could one person take?
You blinked, trying to clear the haze in your eyes, "Iâm fine. Just a little lightheaded, really, itâs fine,â you insisted, but then a shadow loomed beside you.Â
Your vision was so foggy that it took seconds for you to register it.
You looked up slowly, feeling a familiar drop in your stomach as you realized who it was.
The last time youâd been this close to him, the two of you had been screaming insults across the room, Lily having to physically step in. Sheâd forced him to leave before you two killed each other. It was a miracle you hadnât punched him then and there.
 âYou should sit down.â
It felt like a sidekick to your chest.
The sound of his voice was grinding on your nerves, and just like that you were stuck back in your dream, a real memory, leaning against him, his hand playing with a strand of your hair as he laughed at something youâd said, the two of you carefree under a golden sunset.Â
Except this was real.
Rafe was shirtless, with his board tucked under one arm, surf wax staining his fingers, and the sun glinting off his damp skin, like he was Godâs gift to the Outer Banks. His buzzed hair was dark and wet, droplets trailing down his temples and catching along his jawline. His cheeks were flushed, a little red from the heat.
You looked away, somewhere over his shoulder, anywhere but at him, refusing to let him see you in this fragile state.
âGo away. Iâm fine.â
But he didnât move.
Heâd been summoned from your absolute worst memories, catching you at your lowest when you least wanted his help. Typical.Â
âNo,â he refused firmly, with that stupid, stubborn look that made you want to throw something at his head. âIâve seen you almost fall three times now.â
âMaybe if you stopped looking at me like a creep, you wouldnât have to see me âalmost fall.â
âI wasnâtâ"
You grounded your teeth, âJust go back to surfing.â
Rafe let out a dry laugh, shaking his head as if you were the one acting crazy. âYeah, 'cause you look perfectly stable right now.â
He'd always been a master of the passive-aggressive half-sneer, the art of making you feel like everyone else was imposing on his day, no matter the situation.
âDonât act like you care.â you snapped, voice carrying over the sand, earning a few glances from nearby kids.
He ran a hand over his face, looking around as if he didnât want to be there any more than you did, mouth pressed into a tight line. You wanted to scream that this was his fault too, that every choice heâd made led to you standing here alone, exhausted, and terrified.
âWater would help, yâknowâ, his tone just shy of patronizing âYou canât go around dehydrating yourself just to make a point.â
âWhat the fuck is that supposed to mean?â
Your fingers twitched with the urge to send him stumbling to the other side of the beach, you knew that any sudden movement would make you light-headed again, and the last thing you wanted was to give him more proof of your weakness.
The kidâstill standing there, eyes wide and darting between you bothâlooked like he was watching a reality TV show when Kiara appeared at your side.
âLetâs not do this here,â she begged under her breath, handing you a bottle of water sheâd brought over, a kindness you didnât want but couldnât reject. âJust sit down for a second, please?â
JJ followed, always with that air of easygoing nonchalance, but his eyes were serious as he glanced from you to Rafe.
âSheâs right. Just take a second, yeah?â He looked over at Rafe, âMaybe you should leave,â he said pointedly.
âMaybe you should mind your fuckinâ business Maybank.â
âLook, uh,â the kid stammered, knowing he could get caught in the crossfire. âIâll⌠Iâll go see if anyone needs help further down the beachâŚâ
You waved him off, your focus still locked on Rafe as the kid all but bolted away, you didnât want anyone to think they had to ârescueâ you.
You tried to take a step back, but the little strength you had in you disappeared as you felt your knees wobble.
"Jesus," you heard him groan, and then his hands were on your arms, board on the sand, holding you as you stumbled. "I told you to sit down."
You shook his hands off, "Donât tell me what to do.â
It was hard to believe the two of you had once burned hotter than any bonfire, two people who got under each otherâs skin, in love, and in hate.
He let out an exasperated sigh while you took a sip from the water Kiara handed you, ignoring how your hands were still shaking around the bottle.Â
She spoke again, trying to be the voice of reason, "Weâre here to help the community, remember?"
JJ smirked, "Yeah, think the sea turtles are rooting for yâall to work out your issues somewhere else.â
You ignored his joke, keeping your eyes on Rafe, your pride and stubbornness refusing to let him win, âIâm fine.â
âYeah?â
He looked you over, his gaze fixed to your warm cheeks and the dewy sheen across your temple, âYou look real fine, donât you?â He didnât even try to cloak his sarcasm.
God, he could be so exasperating.
He couldnât understand. How could he even think he could look at you now and know anything about who you were? Standing there, with that stupid board and that look, like he couldnât imagine anything bothering him as much as this seemed to be bothering you.
As if he hadnât already ruined you in so many ways that felt impossible to get over.Â
âDonât you have something better to do?âÂ
âOh, believe me, I do,â he drawled, his eyes trailing from the waves back to you.Â
You were tired of this game, of fighting him every time he showed up only to leave you feeling even emptier than before.
Your fists clenched, and you opened your mouth to hurl something back, but the dizziness hit you again. Before you could compose yourself, Rafeâs arm wrapped around your waist, strong and frustratingly secure, holding you upright with an ease that made your skin crawl.
He had seen you at your weakest, had been there at the hospital after the accident, keeping you together when you were certain youâd break.Â
Yet, here you were, in a sick way, back in his arms, all broken apart.
âThatâs it. Iâm taking you to the hospital.â
âI hate to say it, but heâs right,â JJ chimed in, hand shielding his eyes from the sun.
The world alone had all kinds of alarms going off in your brain. You fought back instinctively, your hands pushing at his chest, freeing your arm.Â
âI told you, Iâm fine.â
He let go, but he didnât back away.
Instead, he narrowed his eyes, âYou think I donât know what fine looks like? I was there.â
He was there. And you didnât want to be reminded of it, not in front of other people.Â
He meant the exhaustion and hunger pains youâd welcomed after your family was gone, embraced even, because it meant you wouldnât have to feel anything else.
Youâd wanted to disappear, and heâd been thereâdragging you back, forcing you to drink water and swallow bites of food, even when you pushed him away. Heâd seen you at your absolute lowest, where you didnât care if you made it through the day.Â
The thought of the hospital, tests, questions, you fought it, but your vision was already blurring.
You couldnât let him find out about the baby.Â
Your breathing felt tighter, each shallow breath only making the spinning worse, you could sense your body giving in to the exhaustion
âShit,â you heard him curse, sounding distant now like he was farther away.Â
You felt yourself sway as if the ground was opening beneath you, there was a ringing in your ears that made his voice sound muffled but you still felt his arms catching you again, holding you upright before you fell.
Waking up in a moving vehicle was like emerging from a nightmare, except somehow, this was worse, because you were no longer at the beach.Â
You blinked hard, desperate to wipe the fogginess in your eyes and when it did go away, you realized who was behind the wheel.Â
Rafe.Â
Your heart poundedâyour desperation to keep the baby a secret, how you almost passed out at the beach, and the fact that now he was most likely driving you to the hospital.
âWhat the hell are you doing?â you practically screamed, your voice hoarse from the lack of water.
He didnât spare you a glance, âYou passed out, genius. Iâm taking you to the hospital.â
Your whole body went rigid. âAre you insane?â
âMe?â He scoffed, as he kept his focus on the road. âYou practically ate sand back there. Youâre not fine.â
âTurn the car around. Iâll call my driver and be fine.â You huffed like he was too dumb to understand. âI donât need your help.â
He let out a dry laugh, still not looking at you.Â
âYeah. Youâre out of your mind if you think Iâm letting you out of this car right now.â
âRafe, Iâm not kidding,â you warned, louder this time. âStop. The. Car.â
He gave you a sideways glance, his grip on the wheel tightening.
âNot happening.â
Your heart hammered as you realized he wasnât going to back down, you were driven by sheer desperation.
âFine, then Iâll do it myself." you muttered, reaching for the door handle.Â
Anything to get out of this suffocating car before he dragged you all the way to the ER and they found out you were pregnantâwith his baby, no less.
His eyes widened, finally snapping from the road to your hand on the handle.
âAre you crazy? Get your hand off that, Iâm fuckin' serious.â
You yanked at it anyway, twisting the handle and pulling with spiteful defiance, and Rafeâs expression went from annoyed to full-on rage. He swerved the car to the side of the road, tires skidding as he slammed the brakes and practically threw the car into park.
Before he could even stop fully, you flung the door open and stumbled out, sandals sinking into the gravel as you stalked away.
You didnât get more than a few feet, he was already bolting after you.
âOh, for fuckâs sake,â you muttered, digging your nails into your palms.Â
How the hell had it come to this? You were stuck here, pregnant with his child, and he played the reluctant hero like you needed him swooping in to save you.
Rafe reached you in two strides, his fingers were digging into his forehead, pointing at it with exasperation imprinted into every corner of his face.Â
âAre you out of your fuckin' mind?â He sounded like he was talking to some unruly child.
And the worst part? You could see that frustration in his eyes, the same look he used to give you when heâd reached his limit with you.
You wondered if he ever got to that point with Sofia.
What would he do if she was the one almost fainting? Would he still look like she was some colossal burden, or would he soften, maybe even smile as he fussed over her, acting like he wanted to help?
You hated yourself for caring at all.
Sofiaâthe one who looked like she'd been ripped off from some perfect postcard, all wide-eyed sweetness and gentle smiles. She probably never challenged him, snapped back, or made him want to pull his hair out.
There was no way heâd look at her like she was a mess, someone he just had to âdeal with.â He likely saw her as easy, perfect, all soft and sweet words, everything you werenât.
This wasnât who you wanted to be, and yet here you were, stumbling around half-dead and pregnant with his child.
âIâm sorry, am I bothering you?â You spat the words, watching his jaw clench tighter.Â
He exhaled sharply, rolling his eyes.Â
âUnbelievable. Only you could take me trying to help and turn it into this.â
You were done. You were done with the memories, with the torment of seeing him be something better for someone else.Â
âHelp?â You laughed bitterly, the anger engulfing you so hard it felt as if it choking you. âYou think this is help? That I need you, of all people?â
He took a step back, holding up his hands in mock surrender. âI'm trying to help."
You hated how calm he was, how rational he sounded.
It was maddening when all you wanted was for him to get angry, to let that icy surface crack, to give you even a glimpse of something real, something that wasnât just irritation or sarcasm.
You wanted proof that he still was affected by you, that this was the same guy who used to be everything, whoâd promised you everything.
But you swallowed it down, straightening up, because there was no way in hell, youâd let him see even a hint of weakness.
âTrust me,â you shot back, âIâll be just fine without you.â
He raised an eyebrow, a bitter smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, âGet in the car.â
âNo,â you said, firm and unyielding, every inch of you screaming that you wouldnât let him decide anything for you ever again.
âFine. Have it your way.â
In one swift move, he reached out, his hands gripping your arms with enough pressure to pull you forward, lifting you clean off your feet. Your breath caught in a furious gasp as he practically dragged you back to the car, his fingers warm against your skin, like you were just a mild convenience.Â
âPut me down!âÂ
You struggled against his hold, jabbing at his chest with what little strength you could muster, but he didnât even flinch, didnât so much as hesitate.Â
âRafe, I swearââ
He opened the passenger door with one hand, keeping a firm grip on you with the other, before finally setting you downânot gentlyâonto the seat. Without meaning to, tears began falling as you struggled against his hands. You could feel them wetting your cheeks, your voice was breaking, jumping to distress as you tried to twist out of his hold, feeling so small under his unrelenting strength.
He almost knelt in front of you, reaching for the seat belt with one hand, while his other remained firmly on your shoulder, holding you still. You felt trapped, impresioned as you tried to turn in every direction, hands weakly pushing him back, but he caught them effortlessly.
âStop!â you meekly choked out, failing to shove him, the words coming out shameful.
You could feel your heart breaking all over again.
You hated that he was seeing you like this, how he dared to act like you needed himâit made your skin crawl. You hated that he could do this, like he had any right like youâd ever wanted him involved in this part of your life, let alone now.
This was a version of you only Rafe could bring out.
You glared up at him, practically shaking with rage as Rafe ignored your protests like you were nothing more than a child throwing a fit.Â
âGet your hands off me.â
His jaw tightened, ignoring the flailing punches and slaps grazing him, and you couldnât stop the sob that escaped, loud and ugly.
âIâm not letting you kill yourself out of spite.â
Your chest hurt like youâd been run over a hundred timesâit felt suffocating. âI hate you.â
For the first time, you thought he might actually leave you here.Â
His fingers stopped as if your words had made an impact, his lips pressed into a thin line. Your vision blurred as he leaned in, his touch hovering as if to wipe away the tear running down your cheek, but he didnât, instead, he closed his hand into a fist and drew back, his face just inches from yours.Â
A faint, humorless smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as he clicked the seatbelt into place. He made a low humming noise, that thing he did when he was getting ready to make someone feel two inches tall.Â
 "Yeah? Get in line."
Without another word, he pulled back, slamming the door shut, and walking around to the driverâs side.
You wiped at your cheeks, furious that heâd seen you like this, that he had the power to break you down. It was humiliating, sitting here in his car, every part of your body screaming to escape.Â
He got in, started the engine, neither of you spoke.
You bit back another wave of nausea. Weakness.
Youâd already shown him too much.Â
You didnât need a lecture from some doctor on how you âshouldâve taken better care of yourself", let alone with Rafe there, watching, scrutinizing, acting like this was his business when heâd made it clear long ago that it wasnât. He was in your space in the worst way, reopening all the wounds.
You were seething. He had no right to do this.
The thought made you want to drop deadâdoctor would walk in, casually drop the news about the baby, and you'd be left watching his reaction in real time.
You looked at the entrance to the ER. The vision of anyone running tests, of some well-meaning nurse, coming in and spilling everything about the baby in front of himâno way. You wouldnât let that happen.
He wasted no time getting out, moving around to your side, while you sat rigidly, staring straight ahead. His hand was already on the door, yanking it open, looking down at you like he was ready to drag you inside if he had to.
You werenât moving. You knew the second you stepped inside, it would be over.Â
âCâmon,â Rafe pressed, his hand outstretched, hovering there like he thought he could compel you to listen. âStop being so stubborn.â
You crossed your arms over your stomach, refusing to meet his eyes.
âIâm not going in.â
Rafe let out a sigh, nearing his limit, and knelt down to your level.
âLook, you passed out. Iâm not leaving until you get checked out.â
âYouâre gonna be here for a while then.â
âWould you stop?â His voice softened for the first time, as if he was trying to reach some part of you that he thought still cared. âYou look like you havenât slept in days, like you havenât eaten anything that wasnât out of a vending machine. I know you donât want my help, but can you just stop for a second andââ
âAnd what?â you interrupted.
âAnd think! If you donât get in there, Iâll drag you in myself.â
Your heart raced, âYou wouldnât dare.â
Rafe stepped closer; his jaw set in determination. âTry me.â
âYouâre not coming in."
He blinked like the idea hadnât even occurred to him. âWhat?â
Maybe he was seeing the protection youâd built up around yourself since he left, how there was no longer any crack left open for him to slip through.
âI donât need you. I donât want you in there.â
âFine.â His tone was clipped, restrained. âBut Iâll be right here.â
You slammed the door shut behind you, not letting him your legs still shaking. Youâd rather collapse face-first into the concrete than give him the satisfaction of listening to him.Â
âYeah, you do that,â you replied, turning and walking toward the entrance, refusing to look back.
Stepping inside, you felt a slight tremor run through youâpart relief, part panic. The lights were too bright, almost white. Your heart wobbled, replaying how heâd been such a fucking asshole to you.
Youâd forgotten how mean he could be, how easily he could go from angry to something so frigid it made you want to cry yourself to sleep.
âHi there,â The receptionist greeted, her eyes moving over you with a professional once-over, âWhat brings you in today?â
You forced a small smile, knowing she wouldnât buy it.
âJustâŚgot a little dehydrated, thatâs all.â
âOkayâŚletâs just get some basic information.â She clicked into her computer, her fingers poised over the keyboard. âName?â
You cleared your throat, rattling off your full name, she nodded, typing it in.
âHave you experienced any other symptoms besides dizziness?â
âNothing serious,â you replied, dismissively. âItâs just the heat, like I said. I just need some water and Iâll be good as new.â
This had to be a fucking nightmare you got sucked in, you could sense your blood pressure spike.
She tapped her screen and glanced back at you.
âAlright, Miss Thornton, it looks like weâll just need a few quick details here to get you all checked in. Can I start with your insurance provider?â
A chuckle almost slipped out of you. InsuranceâGod, you were fine with insurance. What you werenât okay with was everything else. You answered, âBlue Cross.â
She asked for your birthdate, which you gave on autopilot, hoping sheâd skip any weird or invasive questions. âAny allergies?â
You shook your head. Please, just let this be over.Â
âItâs really not a big deal,â You blurted out, giving her a thin smile and forcing calm into your voice. âI just need the IV. You know, standard stuff.â
âOf course, dear. Weâll get things started, it will include routine tests, like bloodwork, just to be safe.â
Bloodwork. Perfect. You were doing everything you could to keep from falling into that spiraling panic mode.Â
Please, just get me in, get me out, and donât find anything.
âJust head down to Room 12.â
All you could think was that you wanted this to be overâbefore the whole town, or worse, he, found out. It made you want to scream. He was the last person who should be outside.
This was his fault. Youâd never be here if he hadnât shown up.
The next hour passed in secondsâquestions, forms, an IV drip.
Theyâd done blood work, too, but youâd sighed in relief when theyâd told you the results wouldnât be ready immediately. As far as they knew, youâd just overdone it, and now, as you lay on a cot in a room that reeked of sick people, all theyâd prescribed was rest, hydration, and food.
When the nurse asked if anyone could pick you up, the thought of calling someone, asking them to see you like this, made you delirious. You didnât need anyone; you were perfectly fine on your own.
But you also didnât want Rafe and his delusional ass to barge through the doors.
The nurse moved around you awkwardly, eyes still expectant, as if you were just a button away from a reliable âsomeoneâ to come running.
You looked at her, controlling the compulsion to yell. Little people ever bothered to check on you, to show up for more than just the drama or gossip.
Out of them, only one face bounced around in your head.
âYeah, I got someone.â

JJ x feminist reader when Kamala loses
bro don't even I can't fucking believe it. I'm so sorry american pals and gals, my heart actually bleeds for u (if you're a trump supporter respectfully depart from my blog, I hate him <3)
"No."
"What the fuck-"
"No, this can't be happening-"
"What the actual fuck-"
"No!"
It's like your body is possessed. You stand to your feet and stare at the television like you're watching a train wreck happen before your eyes. And you are. Because Kamala lost, and Trump won.
"And the forty-seventh president of the United States-" the stiff faced newsreader relays "-is Donald J. Trump."
"Fuck!" JJ shouts. He grabs for his beer bottle and lurches it towards the television. The glass shatters against the wall. You drop back down onto the sofa as if you're legs have lost all their strength. Your head falls into your hands and your eyes squeeze shut. It's like a nightmare. This can't be happening.
"This is fucking rigged! It's fucking rigged, I swear to God!" JJ is rambling, angry and heartbroken, almost as much as you. His arm flails out to the television as if personally condemning it for giving this news. "He's a fucking criminal! A fucking criminal and he gets voted in again!"
But it scares you. Scares you in a way that JJ doesn't understand, a way that he would never understand. He lost the power once before, let it slip through his fingers, and you have an awful feeling that he's not going to make that mistake again. Roe versus Wade flashes through your head. Every pregnancy scare you've ever shared with JJ now comes with that extra, looming concern that if you are, if it is real, then you don't have any choice. Well, you do - you have the choice to risk an infection or even death whilst taking autonomy over your body and life. But what next? What could Trump possibly know of what it is to be a woman in America? What was he going to take from the people next?
JJ's arms wrap around you and he tugs you into his side. He presses his face into your hair and plants a kiss to your cheek.
"I'm so sorry."
Tears well into your eyes. "I fucking hate him, JJ."
"I know-"
"No," you snap, "you don't know, JJ. You can hate him but not like I do. Not like we do. I mean, the stuff he's said about women. The stuff he's done-"
You lift your head and meet JJ's eyes. There's the anger there, the rage held back by his sympathy. His jaw is tight but his lips are downturned. He nods. Sighing, you rub at your eyes.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't snap at you."
"Nah, I get it. It's scary."
"It's fucking terrifying," you agree quietly.
JJ presses a kiss to your forehead and you let yourself melt into him. The two of you sit like that on the sofa for a long, long moment. The television rambles in the background, reciting which state voted which party, and you want to scream. It was so close that you could almost taste it. A female president. Wouldn't that have been incredible? A female's perspective. A female in power. A female for all the other little girls to look up to, to dream to be.
"Next time," JJ reassures, as if reading your thoughts like a teleprompter. "I promise it'll happen soon."

đđ Floyra Intro Post !
âBecause theres no one on the land or in the sea more in sync than those two.â
|| playlist. || moodboard. || pinterest quotes. || pinterest board. || (<- in the âDynamic w Floydâ section!)
Floyra is the ship of my main oc, Kyra and Floyd! Kyra is my Yuusona twisted from the Disney Princess Stereotype.
This intro post is just to graph out the timeline and details of their relationship. Funfacts at the end :3 (Fair warning though, this ended up being SUPER long⌠So feel free just to skip to the funfacts if you want HAHAHA)
Please note I may or may not have changed some things in the canon storyline for my own amusement hehe. Nothing too major though.
Tropes :
Idiots to Lovers, Bestfriends to Lovers, Soulmates, literally the DENSEST people ever ⌠Actually theyâre more like cowards. Mutual pining, mutual SIMPING they ADORE eachother they are absolutely WHIPPED, chaotic lovey dovey couple, tooth-rotting fluff, no i mean seriously this is the fluffiest ship EVER, they make eachother both better and worse simultaniously. They share the same braincell. Basically already a couple before they even start dating but they dont realize it.
Kyra: âWhat?? Ofc weâre not dating lmao wdym weâre just friends!!â <- just held his face tenderly and looked into his eyes adoringly while calling him the prettiest boy in the world and kissing his face all over
Floyd: âyeah lol why would u think thatâ <- arm around her waist, basically always looking at her with a dopey grin and heart eyes
First Impressions
When Floyd heard that there was an unexpected appearance of a magicless student at the entrance ceremony that blazed in with a flaming fire tanuki and set fire to the mirror chamber, he was intrigued. When he learned that very same student was, quite literally, from an entirely different world, he was even more intrigued.
Not to mention the fact she lived in that rundown, deteriorating 'dorm' that was literally called Ramshackle, and she was almost expelled two other guppies on the very first day of school.
But, when he saw her for himself he was... Disappointed.
Often times she just stood by the sidelines, seemingly in her own world with a far-off look in her eyes and an empty smile that ticked him off for no apparent reason.
She never reacted to anything, letting people walk over her like some sort of welcome mat. Somehow, she didn't even feel alive.
To put it bluntlyâ Floyd thought she was boring.
Just a wimpy, puny little shrimp who didn't even have any magic. Who wouldn't even run away if her life was on the line, weak and defenseless. Naive. How boring, and here he thought he had another play thing... But wheres the fun if he doesn't get a reaction out of it? How lame.
Kyra and Floyd only officially met during book 2.
Kyra passed by Floyd a bunch of times beforeâ but never actually âsawâ him. Floyd on the other hand, already had an opinion of Kyra.
Seeing her just simply standing by the sidelines again and saying nothing and just⌠Staring. He decided to finally approach her straight up.
Deciding to give her a squeeze for the fun of itâ he didnât expect at all for her to hug him back and basically turn the situation on him instead. It flustered him, and made him walk away from the whole scene out of confusion and embarrassment.
Despite everything, Kyra thought Floyd was amusing. and insanely pretty.
Building Interest âŚ
As time passed they seemed to keep catching glimpses of eachother. And with each passing day, she seemed to get more and more... Interesting.
Facing overblots despite having no magic, causing trouble left and right and getting into such ridiculous situations it makes you wonder how she does everything she does without getting tired of how absurd it all is.
When his first impression of her was her being âboring', his second was her being naive. How else could you explain it? She had to be either ridiculously brave or incredibly stupid and naive to do the things that she does.
Kyra and Floyd donât have any notable interactions until the main events of Book 3.
When Kyra decided to strike up a deal with Azul to free all of the students under a contractâ Floyd thought she was stupid. Naive, and way too easy of a target. It was laughable. It basically confirmed everything he thought of her.
As Floyd and Jade were monitoring Kyra and Grim as they packed up their things, Kyra acted as if nothing major was happening. Talking to them and cracking jokes like they were old friends. It was then Floyd and Kyra found out they might be more similar than they thought, saying the same things at the same time and holding the same opinions.
When Kyra almost dropped a bag of her things, Floyd helped from impulse. He laughed it off, but Kyra decided to give him a kiss on the cheek as a âthank youâ.
He froze in place. Not expecting that kind of reaction from her once again, and just kind of⌠Staring at her as she passed. Jade had another laugh at his brother.
When Kyra first saw Floyd in his merform, he took the chance to try and scare her a little. Just for fun. But just like beforeâ it totally backfired, and Kyra just looked at her with the same wonder as she did the first time. She had the nerve to call him âBeautifulâ under her breath, too.
So, Floyd simply swam away after realizing she wasnât going to give him the reaction he wanted, deciding to play with someone who will.
But when he tried to attack a nearby friend of hersâ She punched him straight in the face! A fire burning in her eyes as she straight up threatened him.
Floyd was⌠Confused. Confused about Kyra, i mean. One moment she was staring at him like he was a of work of art, the next shes throwing hands at him with zero hesitation. He thought she was a pushoverâ but maybe he was wrong.
She had guts, though. Thats for sure. A magicless little thing like her deciding to put her hands up and fight, even threatening him? A 13ft long eelmer that could rip her apart without a sweat? Something about it.. Scared him a little. Ending up with a bloodied nose, staring down someone who didnât show any fear or any regret.
Floyd always wanted a challenge. But did he expect that challenge to come in a 5â7 package, decorated with pretty pink bows? No, not at all.
But thats something. And boy, does Floyd love the thrill of the unexpected. After this interaction that past intrigue he had in her before came back 2 times stronger.
It only worsened when Kyraâs little plan to destroy Azulâs contracts actually worked⌠And Floyd got chills seeing the look on her face.
It was so unlike what he thought of her. A big, smug grin. The face of someone who knows they already won. It was almost malicious. And it was then he realizedâ she wasnât as dumb or as naive as he thought she was, either.
But when they got back to the Lounge, it so happened that Leona seemed to have missed one, single contract. When they spotted it, Kyra was the first to react. Managing to grab it before Azul.
Azul wasnât too happy about it, screeching and yelling for her to give it to him, grabbing her while doing so.
And in that moment of tension, of fear and action, she did something that shocked everyone. In the face of danger, she held the sole contract tightly in her hands and sheâ
âŚShe ate the contract.
She shoved the glowing papering in her mouth, and swallowed the thing. And it worked. Honestly they didnât know which was more ridiculous⌠Her decision, or the fact it was a success.
She grinned so widely, so proudly. She had the nerve to even laugh in Azulâs face. âYeah, thats right! Screw you, octoboy!â
Floyd couldnât surpress the laughter that bubbled up his throat watching it all go down. The sound of her laugh ringing in his ears. It was just so⌠Ridiculous. She was ridiculous.
She had just outsmarted Azul⌠And the best solution she could think of was to eat the contract? It was downright cartoonish!
But when Azul overblotted, Floyd got to see Kyra in action. He was surprised all over again. But he should be used to it by now, he should expect it. She just keeps surprising him.
She was no pushoverâ rising up to the challenge when needed. Even if she still acted unserious, even if she acted goofy and wild, she still got down to business and made it work nonetheless.
And he realized she wasnât anything like what he thought of her before. She was⌠Nothing like what he thought. Always surpassing his expectations of her no matter how much they changed.
Everytime he thought he had her figured out, she goes and does something that makes him rethink it all over againâŚ
She was very, very interesting. And now, shes got his full attention.
Strangers to Besties!
After the main events of Book 3, Floyd had started following around Kyra more often. Actually, scratch that. He started following her around constantly. She eventually apologized for punching him in the face, too. Surprisingly.
Realizing they were actually very similar, they began hanging out more and more, until they eventually became an inseperable duo that everyone knew about.
At first, most were surprised. Kyra had only just started coming out of her shell, so most were still under the impression she was a sweet, mild mannered young girl.
But after befriending Floydâ all of her self-control truly did go flying out of the window. If she was bad before, she was even worse now. Freely skipping classes more often without a care to go find Floyd, trying to juggle live fish in the courtyard, or jumping out of a window just to escape some of the staff. and the like.
Late night adventures, dancing in the rain, sneaking out of class, spontaneous hang outs and sleepovers, pulling pranks and causing trouble left and right⌠They were so in sync, its was scary. Kyra was almost like a second Floyd, and everyone knew that it was probably best to run in the other direction when you see them side by side.
No matter what the situation, they always had eachotherâs back, too.
It was strange to think they were ever strangers. They felt like theyâve known eachother for yearsâ thats how well theyâve grown to know eachother. They were as thick as thieves!
Hanging out everyday, whenever they could, they just had so much fun together all the time!
To everyoneâs dismay, of course. They were far too in sync, if the chaos around one of them was bad it combined when they were together.
Floyd finally found someone who could keep up with him, and even better, keep him on his toes. Kyra surprised him everyday, and thats what he loved. He found someone who understood him, too.
Kyra on the otherhand, found someone who encouraged all of her once repressed desires. She found someone she could be herself with, with no fear of judgement.
Never one without the other, those two. Wherever Kyra was Floyd was surely close to follow, and wherever Floyd was Kyra was most definetly near. They followed eachother around, always stayed close to one another.
Slowly, theyâve grown to not only seek eachother out to go and have fun, but also for comfort.
Platonic ..?
What started as a simple friendship which focused on the high of âhaving funâ and causing trouble, or just basically being partners in crimeâ slowly turned into something much more⌠Intimate.
When Floyd stormed all the way to Ramshackle after a bad day at Mostro Lounge, he didnât really know what to expect, he just wanted to get away from everyone else and Ramshackle was the best place he could think of.
He didnât expect Kyra to be so caring. Pulling him into her arms and running her fingers through his hair while encouraging him to rant.
Kyra had always been an affectionate person, he knew that. It started smallâ little kisses on the cheek and forehead from Kyra to him, hugs and the like. But this was different. It felt different, atleast.
The way she held him felt different, and the way her lips gently kissed his skin made all of the stress from before sizzle into nothing.
He couldnât help but melt, and before they knew it this became a routine for them, too.
They grew to find themselves comfortable being vulnerable around eachother. Showing sides of themselves to eachother most wouldnât see. And they knew eachother better than anyone else did.
Simple, friendly touches became something more. The playful wrap of Floydâs arm around her waist became tighter, and Kyraâs touches on him lingered for longer. Suddenly the playful âI Love Youâs didnât seem platonic anymoreâ atleast not with the way they looked at eachother while they said it.
Simply seeking eachother out to go cause chaos turned into seeking eachother out to just simply be in eachotherâs presence instead. Whatever activity they did started to come second, and as long as they were together they were as happy as could be.
Of course, they never recognized this change. In their point of view, theyâve always been like this. But everyone else can see as plain as day, that something definetly changed.
It was painful for everyone involved, really. For some reason neither of them seemed to acknowledge the obvious feelings between eachother.
Everyone could see the way they looked at eachother, the way they acted around eachother⌠Everything was so painfully blatant⌠But they still couldnât admit it. Even when the lines between friendship and intimacy began to blur.
Realizations!
Nothing about their relationship really changed at this point. They just kind of realized their romantic feelings after being deep in denial for WAYY too long.
The first to realize their feelings was actually Kyra, believe it or not. Which is funny because shes never been the best at realizing her own emotions in general.
She was definetly panicked about it, and decided to not say a word of it to anyone. She didnât want to ruin the friendship they had, after all he was her dearest friend. So she kept her mouth shut and continued on pretending like it was nothing.
She felt selfish having such feelings. She felt as if she didnât deserve him, like he deserved better than her because she grew up thinking she must be unlovable. And so she kept quiet for the sake of him, too. She thought it was best for the both of them. (<- LIARRRRR!!!!!!)
Floyd realized a little later, it kind of just hit him one day. They werenât doing anything in particular, he just looked at her and went âOh. Ohhh.â
Like a lightbulb went off in his head. He didnât say anything about it either for awhile. Eels are cowards, after all. And he didnât know if she felt the same. So he just decided to act like nothing happened, continued this routine of theirs that theyâve grown attatched to.
Maybe there were afew times where they wanted to say something about it, to finally admit the unspoken thoughts theyâve had kept in the back of their minds⌠But they never go through with it. Always backing out last minute, brushing it off.
The two were cowards, dancing around their mutual feelings. Unsure of how the other felt, so they decided to just leave it all unsaid. Even if the look in their eyes said otherwise.
Saying they were just âbest friendsâ was just so much easier. It was what they were used to, what they were comfortable with. It was easier to brush it all off as them being comfortable eachother, sharing beds and exchanging gentle touches. It was all platonic, of course!
âŚThough Floyd was hesitant with his own feelings. He never expected to find someone that captured his interest so much⌠Yet he wondered, was he ready to commit?
Strangely, there was no doubt in his mind. It was yes, it always was, yes. The moment he asked himself that question he answered it immediately at the same time.
Of course, because he realized if it was Kyra, there wasnât anything he wouldnât do. Man, when did he get so whipped for such a silly shrimpy?
Merfolk only choose one mate for life. And Floyd is sure he wanted his to be Kyra.
He was scared of course after realizing his own feelings. Besides Azul and Jade, he's never let anyone get this close to him. It was strange letting Kyra in like this. He didn't plan on her, not at first at least. but now that he has you, he wants to keep you forever.
Man, she just kept surprising him, huh? He never even thought he could feel so deeply for someone. But hes so glad that he found her, that they found eachother.
DifficultiesâŚ
When Kyra left with Epel, Rook and Elena during Book 6, Floyd was upset.
Thats an understatement, really. He was furstrated, worried, and somehow he even felt betrayed.
Why didnât she tell him?? Doesnât she know its dangerous? Whats a shrimpy like her gonna do, huh?
He knows Kyra can take care of herself, he knows shes capable and he knows she can defend herself. But that doesnât stop him from worrying.
Throughout the span that shes gone Floyd is restless. Hes snappier, hes moodier and he cant seem to stop pacing around no matter how hard he tries.
But when Kyra gets backâ he completely ignores her.
Kyra was so very confused. Actually, everyone was. This was a first for the two of them. Honestly, Kyra expected him to run towards her just like he always does. But he doesnât.
Kyra is back, but that doesnât change his mood. If anything, it worsens. And Kyra doesnât have a clue why! Everytime she tries to approach him, he just turns his heel and walks away. And hes never looked at her like⌠that..
Kyra is a total mess. And suddenly shes not as good as keeping her real feelings at bay like she usually is. She wondered if she did something wrong? Said something wrong? Was he finally sick of her? And that was when she realizedâ she was terrified of the thought of losing him.
In desperation she went to Jade. Maybe she shouldâve asked Elena for advice instead, but before she knew it she was sat infront of Jade, asking for help with his brother.
If anything, Jade seemed amused with her situation. Of course he did. But with a mischevious twinkle in his eye, she had a feeling he had a scheme brewing up in his head.
Maybe she shouldâve known better than to trust Jade⌠But she didnât really have a choice, or so she thought as much.
Something about this situation felt so⌠Deliberate. She couldnât quite put her finger on it, but it seemed like he knew sheâd come to him for help sooner or later.
After giving Kyra some advice and words of encouragement, he did something rather out of character of him. Bringing into a hug, he held her rather close to himself.
Kyra didnât really notice this, and accepted the hug with no hesitation. Wrapping her arms around him and sighing as she melted into the well-needed hug.
Little did she know, Jadeâs eyes were glued onto his brotherâs figure, looming by the doorframe with a scowl on his face. It made Jade chuckle, deciding to tighten her arms around Kyra juust a little more to see what heâd do.
Of course, Floyd wasnât happy about it. Now, Floyd is not a jealous person by any means. He has better things to focus on, other things to keep him entertained. But at moments like these, when hes already in a bad mood, he canât help that primal instict, its in his blood after all. A moray is a moray.
Tearing her away from Jade, he drags her to somewhere else. Leaving a very amused Jade watching them leave.
And so, an argument occurs !!! Its a back and forth, Floyd mad about what he just saw, Kyra trying to explain the situation then her getting mad at him back for avoiding her like the plague.
It ended up with Floyd admitting he was mad because she didnât tell him about her going with them, but at the same time he was mad at himself for not being able to be with her then.
Kyra realizes that, yeah, she probably shouldve let him know she was going. But she couldnât just brush off the fact he hurt her by doing what he did, shes grown enough as a person at this point to not let her own feelings go unheard.
Reconcilliation!!! They both apologize and promise to do better, and what better way to catch up on lost time than a sleepover??
Best believe that after they made up, they went back to their normal selves as if nothing happenedâ actually, maybe even worse with how much clingier they are. They seriously missed eachother, seeing how much they stuck together. đ
âHomeâ?
When Kyra got news of the possibility of finding a way back to her home she was in shambles. So very conflicted between the place she called home and the place she felt was home.
She knew she had to leave some day. She knew this freedom she had was temporary. She knew one day, sheâd have to go back to the life she grew to despise, the life that was never hers.
She didnât want to leave, though. Of course she didnât. But still, she didnât really have a choice.
She decided she wouldnât do the same mistake and leave Floyd out of the loop. If anyone deserves to know first, its probably him.
And so, while theyre sitting on the rooftop of Ramshackle she mentions it. And Floyd is⌠Upset. Of course he is. Hes beyond upset, really. He just got his best friend back, now hes hearing she might be going away again? For good? Forever?
No way. He couldnt accept that, there was no way he could. But before he could even say anythingâ Kyra spoke first.
âI donât want to go back. I really, really donât.â
ââŚYou donât? Huh? Why?â There was a wave of relief that crashed over Floyd when he heard those words fall from her lips, his eyes glued onto the girl beside him. Hanging onto every word she says. âNo. Its just⌠Its not my home, atleast not anymore. I dont think it is.â
âI think, this is my home now.â She chuckles, eyes glued down to the ground below. ââŚBecause youâre here.â She says, turning to look at him. She spoke in that tone that she only used behind closed doors. When no one was looking. That soft, sweet voice she used whenever she carded her fingers through his hair and whispered sweet nothings to him until he fell asleep. It wasnât unauthetic like the voice she used when they first metâ no, it was genuine. Real. Full of adoration, of fondness. Her gaze held so much love.
ââŚHah, whatâre you gettinâ all sappy for, Sea Angel? Thats so cringe.â He laughed, but his heart soared. Even if it was cheesey, he couldnt help but swoon with just the way she looked at him. Like he was the most beautiful thing in the world. She always said he was the prettiest boy in the world.
She moved forward, her face leaning ever so close to his, so close he could see every line and curve of her features. He laughed at first, âHey, whatâcha tryna do, huh? What? Do I have somethinâ on my face?â He joked, but she didnât respond. It looked like she was thinking, like she was deep in thought. ââŚKyra?â
Her name left his lips for what was the first time. Hanging in the air like a silent prayer of longing, of want. And her own lips met his. Capturing it in a sweet, sudden kiss.
Time seemed to have stopped. It always felt like that when they were together, but this was different. Nothing could prepare him for thatâ hell, he didnât even get the chance to kiss her back, the moment felt as if it went on forever but it was over too quickly all the same.
There was a flash of realization on Kyraâs face as her cheeks flushed a red that could rival Riddle on a rampage. Stumbling and stuttering, she couldnât handle the embarrassment, and before he could even say anything she ran away. Leaving him on the rooftop, wide eyes and a stomach full of butterflies.
Yeah. Kyra is really stupid sometimes.
After that whole thing, she ran to Leona to let out her thoughts. He listened, though he said he âdidnât have a choice anywayâ.
âSo⌠You kissed him then you just.. Ran? Seriously?â âI PANICKED!!!â
Floyd and Kyra donât really interact until Malleusâ overblot. And during the time theyâre in Floydâs dream, shes hoping he doesnât bring up what happened at the rooftop.
Confession!
The confession takes a long, LOONG time. Im talking probably around book 7 or later. Probably when Kyra confirmed that shes staying in Twisted Wonderland. (Everyone thank Papa Crewel, he sorted out her documents for her :33)
Hehe because eels are cowards and they dont take the shot unless theyre sure itâs a winner. So he waits, and waits some more. And of course, that kiss was the sign he needed to finally just go for it.
Eventually, Floyd does confess. Although I still havenât thought of the detailsâ it does go something like this.
When Kyra at first laughs at him thinking it was a joke, he got annoyed. He didnât think this was funny, and after seeing the serious look on his face she stopped immediately.
After realizing he was being genuine, she started straight up BAWLING. Sobbing, because she couldnât believe someone could ever love her the way she is.
Shes deemed herself as unlovable so very long ago, she didnt expect the person she adored so much to ever love her back. She felt selfish, wanting to accept his feelings. But she wanted to be selfish at that moment.
Floyd has never been one to comfort people. He was never the best at it, but if its her, heâll try. He always does. It was weird, but if it was her he always found himself doing things heâd never thought heâd do for someone else.
When Kyra started rambling about all of the reasons he âshouldnâtâ love her, he started talking about why he loved all of those sides of her. Kissing away her tears nâ all. AUAUAUUUGGHHHH
It was honestly super emotional ESPECIALLY for Kyra, but she of course accepts the confession and they FINALLY KISS PROPERLY OH MY GOD THANK U !! ROUND OF APPLAUSE !!!!!!!
Floyd also calls Kyra by her actual name instead of âShrimpyâ or âSea Angelâ during this confession :3
âIts About Time!â
Honestly, nothing much changes after they confess.
Sure it takes some time to get used to them being officially a couple, but theyâre still mostly the same.
However, Iâd like to think that they just⌠Donât mention it to anyone. Not because theyâre keeping their relationship a secret, they just ?? Dont ???? Because theyâre weird like that idk and its funny to me
For awhile no one actually knows theyâre dating, and one day when someone comments on how they really should just suck it up and start dating theyâre like âoh, lol we already areâ âWHATââ
Floyd definetly brags about Kyra a lot though đđ and Kyra does the same⌠theyre both so down bad its SICKENING.
Funfacts!
Floyd was kind of scared of Kyra for a little while LMAOO đ shes a little TOO freaky âŚ
Floyd has stayed over at Ramshackle so much that heâs has a bunch of stuff over there. An extra toothbrush, some changes of clothes, you name it. Its probably there. You can bet Floyd just lets himself into Ramshackle all the time, sometimes even in the middle of the night. But Kyra is always so chill about it đ (only because its Floyd HEHE)
Before they even started datingâ behind closed doors they already acted like an old married couple đ
Kyra and Floyd are lowkey super domestic behind closed doors, especially after a sleepover. Waking the other up with kisses âŚ.. Helping eachother get ready for the day, helping eachother get dressed ⌠Cooking together âŚâŚ.. theyre so sickening âŚâŚâŚâŚ
Even if they arenât with eachother all the time, they still manage to include eachother in their lives somehow. Whenever they go off on a solo-adventure, they always come back with some sort of trinket that reminded them of the other.
Speaking of, theyâre both avid collectors of anything they deem cool enough. Random rocks, acorns, a lost penny, you name it. They like to show eachother the things they found throughout the day to eachother!
They have this silly little game Kyra started. She began hiding little sticky notes with sweet messages or a doodle and sometimes gifts in places she knows Floyd will find, and heâs started doing the same thing. Ever since then, its kind of become more like a competition on who can find the most sticky notes đ
Kyra gets cuteness aggression from Floyd. Yeah thats it.
^^ she genuinely believes hes the cutest thing ever. Whatever u say queen!!!!
Floyd loves giving Kyra random gifts out of nowhere. The gifts can range from âa cool rockâ to a designer jacket. Kyra doesnt know which she prefers HAHAHA
Kyra herself prefers handmade gifts, so she loves to make Floyd pieces of jewelry and clothing! Shes always so proud whenever she sees him wearing something she made :3
Floyd and Kyra have been kicked out of class several times for laughing too hard.
They admitted to eachother before they even started dating that they couldnât imagine their life without the other⌠can they pls take the hint omg
Floyd always feels super bad whenever he loses control of his temper around Kyra. One time he snapped at her, and he immediately apologized đ he told her to slap him if he ever did that again, hugged her so tight too and Kyra honestly found it so cute đ
Floyd always perks up whenever he realizes Kyra is close by, always running straight to her. Kyra does the same thing and quite literally jumps into his arms.
Both Kyra and Floydâs main love language is physical touch!! But Kyra loves to compliment him all the time, and Floyd loves gift giving :3
Kyra always greets Floyd with a kiss on the cheek. Yeah she started doing this before they were event dating im afraid âŚ.
Kyra and Floyd love to read together at night, though Kyra usually falls asleep first AHAHAHA
But !! Kyra is also the first to wake up more often than not, and always wakes Floyd up with butterfly kisses on his face :3
Floyd convinced Azul to add some of Kyraâs favorite foods to the menu of Mostro Lounge just to get her to come visit more often
Kyra fights anyone that bad-mouths Floyd. Floyd doesnt know whether to find it cute or annoyed that she keeps getting herself hurt đ
^^ SPEAKING OF, Kyra literally unlocked a much more caring side of Floyd with her being so accident-prone đ girlie got herself injured so much FLOYD had to step in smh âŚ
Floyd is the kinda guy to carry Kyra if her feet started to hurt while walking or if she sprains an ankle teehee
Theyâre both banned from an arcade in town after they broke a claw machine and stole all the plushies inside. And other things but that isnt as important.
When Floyd feels like hanging out with her, heâll look for her around campus then just throw her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes then just walks away. Kyra never struggles or objects and kind of just ⌠accepts her fate đ
RamblingâŚ
Kyra grew up thinking the love she received will always be conditional. That she always needed to live up to some sort of expectation, and so she created a âperfectâ persona in order to do just that.
She still keeps that persona from the Prologue to Book 1, but begins to break away from it during Book 2â but while in her past she was only loved for the version of herself she created for othersâ it was the opposite with Floyd.
He disliked her so-called âpersonaâ, but fell so deeply in love with her real self.
^^ she was very confused, yet so very happy.
Floyd never expected to ever love or care about someone so deeply, but at the same time he canât imagine anything he wouldnât do for Kyra.
Floyd thinks everything is fun as long as Kyra is with him <3
Kyra only ever started showing her more vulnerable side to Floyd during her character development. He was the very first to ever see her break away from the unbothered act she always put on.
Floyd was never one to let himself be so soft and vulnerable around anyone, ever. But strangely, he lets his guard down around Kyra. Kyra knows of the much gentler side to him, and she adores it so very much.
Kyra is extremely understanding and patient of Floyd and his mood swings. She knows heâd never intentionally hurt her, and always knows just how to cheer him up. Whether with a silly joke, a spontaneous adventure or just lying in bed with him in her arms.
Kyra trusts Floyd with her LIFE. She trusts him so much its ridiculous. No matter what the situation, she always feels like she can rely on him⌠But she wont trust him with her food. Or her plushies.

A Not-So-Disastrous Romance (Book 2) Chapter Thirteen
Saiki Kusuo x Reader
Chapter Thirteen: Festival Competition
Summary: Saiki and (Y/N) go to a festival, but Kusuke interrupts.
Saiki teleported to the edge of the forest. In a clearing nearby sat the festival, complete with colorful lights, the smell of food, and various games for people to play. He walked towards the stalls, waiting his parents to pull up with his Grandma, Kusuke, and (Y/N). He looked down at his yukata. It was simple and green with a pink sash, so he was thankful. Because Saikiâs mom was picking out outfits, it couldâve been far crazier (like zebra printed).
Soon enough, Saiki saw the family car pull up, and his family got out. Neither of his parents had dressed up, but Kusuke was in a simple grey yukata.
âItâs as boring as ever,â said Kusuke with a smile. âI can still remember how boring it was before. What a boring festival.â
âStop calling it âboring.â â If Saiki had a more expressive face, he would have rolled his eyes.
Grandma Saiki got out of the car, and Saiki sighed. She wore a purple and white kimono with little pink heartsâvery youthful for her age (and short).
(Y/N) was the last to get out, and Saiki just stood there, staring for a moment. They had on a pink yukata, and a purple obi. It was simple and yet cute. (Especially since the colors of their yukata and his complemented one another). (Y/N) beamed at him, and Saikiâs heart basically stopped. They seemed to glow in the lantern light with that glorious smile, and Saiki was reminded once again just how lucky he was to be with them.
            âOh, wow.â
(Y/N)âs cheeks warmed as he spoke, and they chuckled nervously. âThanks, Kusuo. You look nice, too.â
Saiki coughed and looked away, embarrassed at the compliment. âThank you, (Y/N).â
Click! âAww, you two are so cute!â Mrs. Saiki giggled from behind her camera. âIâll send you both the photos later.â
Saiki didnât need photos of himself blushing, but when (Y/N) brightened, he just smiled inwardly and nodded at his mom. Heâd make sure anything that made (Y/N) happy came true.
âI like festivals like this,â said Mr. Saiki, looking around.
âMe, too. I donât like when theyâre too crowded,â agreed Mrs. Saiki.
âThis one is a bit small,â admitted Grandma Saiki.
âI think we can find some fun,â said (Y/N), smiling. âIt matters who youâre with, not where you are.â
Saiki swore that his momâs eyes turned to stars, and then her face became demonic as she glared at Saiki. âNever lose them, Kusuo,â she nearly growled.
âŚOh dear, thought Saiki, a little afraid of the intensity.
âWhat a good point!â said Mr. Saiki. He took his wifeâs hand. âLetâs go and see the festival.â He puffed up his chest. âIâll win some prizes for you!â
Mrs. Saiki chuckled and leaned on his arm. âThank you, sweetheart.â They walked into the festival stalls.
âWait for me!â said Grandma Saiki, buying snacks.
âKusuo, (Y/N), here,â said Kusuke, holding out caramel apples. He smiled.
           âWhen did I become â(Y/N)?â â wondered (Y/N).
âDonât become familiar,â said Saiki, narrowing his eyes at his brother.
âOh, come on, I like them! I approve,â said Kusuke. âEven if I donât know how you managed to land a partner so nice when youâre a psychic weirdo.â
Saiki just deadpanned. He felt a pressure on his hand and looked down. (Y/N) was holding his hand and glaring at Kusuke.
âDonât call Kusuo weird, Kusuke,â said (Y/N). âHeâs not the one who looks down on people for not being smart. He actually helps people and has friends.â
Saikiâs breath was once again stolen. Oh, wow. Saiki was extremely lucky to be dating (Y/N). He didnât deserve them.
Kusuke laughed out loud. âI told you I liked them, Kusuo. They even defend you!â He chuckled and turned away. Apparently, he had just been testing if (Y/N) was really worthy of his psychic brotherâhe competed with Saiki, but that was because he thought only he should get a chance to beat Saiki, and no one else deserved it. (Y/N), however, did.
ââŚI walked right into a test, didnât I?â said (Y/N), sweat-dropping.
Saiki smiled slightly and squeezed their hand. âIt was nice of you. Heâs just weird.â
(Y/N) chuckled and smiled at him in agreement.
âIf youâre talking about me psychically, donât forget I can still figure out what youâre saying even with this on,â said Kusuke, pointing at his headset as he spotted (Y/N) speaking to Saiki.
           âThat blocks telepathy?â said (Y/N).
âI invented the only thing that blocks his abilities,â said Kusuke with a grin.
âDonât tell him,â said Saiki as (Y/N) glanced at him. Their germanium earrings were far more fashionable than that headset, and if Kusuke was going to avoid having his mind read, Saiki wanted him to look silly. (Also, Kusuke hadnât figured out how to just block his thoughts from Saiki and still be able to hear Saiki âspeaking,â which amused Saiki since (Y/N) had that ability with their earrings).
âI can always tell what he wants to say, though. Heâs predictable,â said Kusuke. He pointed at Saiki. âAnd thatâs how I know what youâll say when I suggest we have a competition.â
            âNo,â said Saiki instantly.
âNo?â predicted Kusuke casually. âAlright. But I bet I can win more prizes for (Y/N) than you can.â
Kusuo and I are dating, but he wouldnât fall for that level of jealousy baitâ
âYouâre on.â No way was Kusuke going to make a fool of him in front of his partner just to boost his own ego.
            Never mind. (Y/N) laughed.
â(Y/N), you choose the event,â said Kusuke, gesturing to all the stalls.
âBut if youâre a genius, youâll know what Iâm going to choose,â said (Y/N), shrugging.
Kusuke deflated slightly. âItâs part of the fun.â
âIt doesnât matter. He never wins, anyway,â said Saiki.
(Y/N) took pity on him and Saikiâs pride. âOkay, how aboutâŚâ They scanned the stalls. âThe shooting range.â They pointed to the booth with guns and targets to win stuffed animals and various other prizes.
âGreat choice,â said Kusuke, walking to the shooting range. He handed over some money, and he and Saiki stood side-by-side with separate guns.
(Y/N) watched them shoot and hit all of their targets down. The pair glowered at each other, and (Y/N) chuckled in amusement as other guests backed away from the two people who looked way too serious while holding guns.
âYouâre not using your abilities?â said Kusuke, smirking.
âThat would be unfair to the attendant,â said Saiki.
(Y/N) smiled. They were glad Saiki wasnât relying on his powers. It was kind of nice to see him just having fun in the way a regular person would, which was something he always wanted to do.
âWell, itâs no fun for me, then,â said Kusuke. âIâm changing rules.â He gestured to a giant stuffed animal prize. âIf I get the biggest one, I win.â
âItâs impossible with these guns,â said Saiki. âAlso, thatâs a creepy doll. Iâm not giving (Y/N) that.â
âIf I donât get the big one, you win,â said Kusuke. âOh, and you can use your abilities without upsetting the attendant.â
            âHuh?â
Kusuke pulled out what could only be described as a phaser gun from a sci-fi movie. âStop me if you can!â
âWhat? That gun looks like it could disintegrate people!â exclaimed Saiki.
âThis is not that serious!â said (Y/N), eyes wide.
            âStop, thatâs cheating!â
Energy collected at the tip of the gun.
            âHey!â
âFire!â shouted Kusuke. A purple beam of light fired from the gun and flew towards the stuffed animal.
Saiki instantly lifted his own gun and fired. The bullet rocketed forward, propelled by his own abilities in a burst of blue light. It hit Kusukeâs beam of energy, and the two bolts careened off one another into the sky. Kusukeâs eyes widened at losing. The bursts of energy flew into the sky and exploded like fireworks. Pink light showered over the festival, and people gasped in surprise and awe.
Kusuke pouted, and Saiki just sighed.
âYare yare. I still won,â said Saiki.
âI lost again,â groaned Kusuke. âI was so close this time.â
Saiki ignored Kusuke and collected the prizes heâd won. He had an entire bagâs worth and picked out a strawberry plushy.
            âHere,â said Saiki.
(Y/N) smiled widely and held the plushy close. âThank you, Kusuo.â They kissed his cheek, a fleeting touch, but it got a little smile from Saiki.
âWhat are you guys doing?â said Mr. Saiki, running up with Mrs. Saiki and Grandma Saiki. They had seen the fireworks and known that their kids were up to something.
âJust having a fun competition,â chirped Kusuke. âI lost again.â He sighed. âItâs alright. Iâll have another chance.â
âWhat do you mean âanother?â â wondered Mr. Saiki.
Kusuke smiled. âDidnât I mention it? I graduated from university. Iâm moving back to Japan.â
True horror passed over Saikiâs face. âWhat?â
âYou can move back in with us!â said Mrs. Saiki happily.
âI donât think so,â said Kusuke.
           âWhere then?â asked Mr. Saiki.
âI was thinking of staying with Grandma and Grandpa,â said Kusuke brightly.
âThatâll be wonderful!â said Grandma Saiki. She pulled out her cell phone. âIâll tell Kumagoro!â
Saiki let out a sigh of relief. At least Kusuke wasnât coming back to live with Mr. and Mrs. Saiki. That would be the end of any peace Saiki had at home. Quickly, he took (Y/N)âs hand and began to pull them away.
âLetâs escape before he tries to make another competition,â said Saiki.
(Y/N) laughed and followed him. âGood idea.â They squeezed his hand while holding the plushy with their another. âWhat should we go and do?â
âWhatever you want,â said Saiki. He just wanted a nice moment with (Y/N).
âHmmm.â (Y/N) looked around at the different stalls, and their eyes alighted on a tent where people were sitting and eating. However, at the center of the tent was a wooden stage where people were dancing. Their eyes brightened. They really wanted to dance. But Kusuo wouldnât want the attention. Plus, thatâs a lot of physical contact. They shook their head. They wouldnât make Saiki uncomfortable just because they wanted to dance. âI donât know,â said (Y/N). âYou choose.â They smiled encouragingly.
Saiki sighed. He had seen where their eyes went, and there they were, still trying to appease him. They were too nice.
âCome on,â said Saiki, gently pulling them towards the tent.
           âHuh?â said (Y/N), surprised.
âLetâs dance,â said Saiki, setting down his bag and taking (Y/N)âs plushy. Then, he took their hands and guided them onto the dance floor.
(Y/N)âs smile turned bright, and Saiki fell head-over-heels for them for the hundredth time. He knew that heâd never grow tired of making them smile. âSuper Trouperâ by ABBA began to play. Saiki moved awkwardly, not sure how to dance. (Y/N) laughed and held his hands firmly. They swung his arms and moved their feet to the beat. Slowly but surely, Saiki began to move with them, though he really didnât pay attention much to what he was doing. He was only looking at (Y/N) as they grinned and sang along to the music, bouncing on their feet playfully.
And so, to preserve that smile for as long as he couldâheâd bend the world to their will if theyâd ask in order to make them happily, not that they would ask (which made him care all the more)âhe copied what he saw other couples doing. Saiki firmly held (Y/N)âs hand and spun them around. They laughed in surprise and twirled a couple times, smiling giddily.
As the music played, (Y/N) moved closer to him and put their arms around his neck. He smiled slightly and put his hands on their waist, still moving together to the music. (Y/N) threw their hands up and sang along to the music while Saiki watched them adoringly. (Y/N) smiled at him. They really, really lovâcared about Saiki. He was one of the best things to ever happen to them, and they were so lucky to be with him.
âYouâre the best, Kusuo,â they said, smiling.
            âIâm not,â said Saiki.
âYouâre the best for me, then,â said (Y/N) firmly. They laid their head on his chest while they hugged him close.
Saiki smiled at them as he held them close. âYouâre the best for me.â No one else came close. He lifted a hand and tilted their face towards his. Leaning in, he kissed them softly.
           Smiling, (Y/N) kissed back.

Today I logged into facebook for the first time in nearly 4 years and went through every profile in my friends list (like ~300) and purged out all the assholes (anyone who openly voted for Trump, other conservatives, and those who I strongly believe did). I've done this before so there weren't many but there are a number that have been wishy-washy with being outward in their bigotry and it helps me keep a mental list of people that deserve only the most very basic level of respect that I can muster because they certainly do not respect me nor people I care about nor many of their fellow human beings. Most disheartening is seeing friends and family who continue to put effort into engaging with people who argue in bad faith and weaponized ignorance.
I dated a man for nearly a year who went to women's and pro-choice rallies and liberal groups with me and said many times that he "was on my side" but turned out to be lying the whole time because he knew I definitely wouldn't date him otherwise. I'd known him for years before since we ran in the same friend circle. I wasn't the only one he had fooled. He slowly lifted the mask until we were constantly arguing because of his bigoted and racist remarks. His favorite thing to do was act oppressed and show me the most obvious Russian propaganda that he would get upset at me for fact-checking and asking for real sources. He wanted to argue, so what he hated most was when I refused to argue with him. Nothing I said was going to change his mind, so I wasn't going to humor or tolerate it (we didn't last long after that point, but by that time, I was afraid of leaving without an excuse that would be "good enough" for him). He legitimately wants civil war so that he can play survival hero and feel validated in his hatred. It didn't come on quickly and a lot of the comments started as "odd" off the cuff things through the time that we dated. He was very much pretending to be a kind person and once really called out, that pretense dropped. He thought I was more like him and that a lot of my regard and kindness for others is "fake." Because that's what a lot of people like that do - they fake being kind for optics, they are not actually kind people, and therefore presume that everyone else is doing the same thing. It's given me major trust issues.
Can't say this enough: these people feel validation in their bigotry when you continue to associate with them. They need to be dropped. They need to learn that their shitty beliefs mean that they get shunned. Make them feel uncomfortable. Quit tiptoeing around and coddling their delicate little feelings because they might get upset. It's okay for them to get upset because someone was mean and told them they don't like them because they think gay and trans people shouldn't exist. I once made a post about how a raped 11 year old child should never be expected to give birth, was told that it was "god's will" and like 5 people piled on the guy so badly he told us to stop being "mean" to him and was terrified to talk to me at work ever again (I have since cut all ties and no longer work with him). I'm personally extremely tired of playing nice for the sake of possibly "converting" someone - especially because you can be polite in telling someone to fuck off with their beliefs. Their beliefs are dangerous, are going to result in people losing their lives, and a frightening number of them are completely okay with that. We need to stop being tolerant of intolerance. It is okay to cut people (including family) from your life when all their presence does is bring you stress and harm.
In a similar vain, don't let the people who chose not to vote (or "protest voted") stick their heads in the sand to escape blame. They are just as culpable as anyone else who directly voted for Trump and other conservatives. They need to grow the fuck up.
For a lot of liberals, it's really uncomfortable to be confrontational and feel like you're being intolerant of someone, but it's way past time to play hardball and call them out instead of coddling them, especially as we're going into the holiday season where many of us will be seeing family with shitty views and targeted family that may need someone to stand up for them. Let them know they're shitty and inappropriate and a disappointment and unworthy of your regard because they certainly lack it for others. Obviously still be safe, but many of us very likely aren't losing anything of value in that scenario. Not having bigoted family members in my life in any way has made me so much happier.
A helpful tip to those who may find themselves in a confrontation: do not stay engaged. Let your views be known and then disengage. Because many of them love to argue and feel like they're defending themselves (many are addicted to those feelings of hatred and overcoming "oppression"), what they don't like is being ignored and feeling like you're rinsing your hands of them. They don't deserve your stress and constant efforts. There are ways to open a dialogue when they are willing to discuss civilly with an open mind, but if they bring intolerance, just shut it down.
