This idea has been rattling in my brain for days now. Enjoy.

Gabriel x Reader, hurt/no comfort.

An angel, severed from the Creator's light because of a lost battle. Dying slowly, it would only take hours for Gabriel's life to be extinguished. Even so, before heading off to correct his supposed mistake, he seeks out his love, the one that holds his heart so gently. A spirit of a fallen human, one unfairly denied entrance to paradise. Warm and loving and bright, everything an angel should have been, everything he was not any longer.

He see the beloved spirit, waiting for him like always, and he feels his heart ache as he shares the news of his imminent demise. The light has been torn from him, he can't live without it. The burning fury is gone.

Instead, the spirit asks if it can be replaced, even if just for a few moments. If a furnace is still intact, why not simply add a different fuel? Gabriel scoffs, unable to think of such blasphemy, even after everything that has been taken from him.

"Our Lord's light cannot be replaced. I am doomed, love."

"...No. I won't accept that."

"What are you-? What!? No! Don't do that!"

The angel tries to remove their beloved hands from his chest, but their form has already started to shift. White flames slowly envelop the little spirit, blurring the form he loved so much.

"You can't! You- You wretch! Blasphemous being! Let go!"

Insults and anger did nothing to make his beloved stop. The flames burned ever brighter, slowly melting into his chest... until all he could feel was love.

He fell to his knees, sobbing pitifully. He reached, grasping at empty air. His beloved was no longer there. He could feel every ounce of love directed towards him, filling him from his fingertips all the way to his glowing wings.

Warm and loving and bright... everything an angel should have been.

this is entirely unprompted on your end, but i love your darcy and faramir takes and wanted to get your opinion on aragorn/faramir as a ship.

i'm salivating over it and nobody. cares. but i just love how it can show the possibilities of book faramir being a "threat" to aragorn's kingship in a way that nobody else is...how they can relate through their shared ancestry but the entirely different ways it impacted them in their respective lives - something about aragorn being the heir of isildur, growing up surrounded by elves, arnor. something about faramir being distinctly aware of the legacy of the stewards, his numenorean heritage and how it's fading away in the world of men, gondor (my fav world in lotr, you are so under-appreciated, gondor.) i personally adhere to the stewards-were-most-likely-also-royalty headcanon because of that extra juicy tension. throw in the i-knew-your-father-as-a-young-man aspect, the whole steward-quite-literally-serving-in-wait-of-the-true-king aspect? it's everything.

i dunno. the natural cause and effect of "return of the king" & "departure of the steward" is so interesting to play with in a romantic context, especially if it keeps both of them in the limelight when naturally, it should only be one of them? i think it's the aragorn ship that pushes his character and ambition the most, and in the same way, it can push faramir to show more machiavellian traits, more of him utilizing his political power and/or personal strengths. especially since his canonical fate is extremely satisfying but also...very conclusively an *ending* if that makes sense.

i might just want to see faramir clashing with aragorn wanting to wage more war. let him cook! let the man speak about "queen among other queens: not a mistress of many slaves"!!!!

also must admit that it's my contrarian ass wanting to rebel against the fanon "aragorn never ever wanted to be king" + "faramir is a pathetic meow meow" headcanons. the existing faramir x aragorn fics i've read all adhere to it which is frustrating.

anyways, any thoughts on this ship i randomly latched on to?

Anon, this is my #1 Tolkien ship and actually one of the only m/m ships I've ever been super into. I used to guiltily sneak-read Aragorn/Faramir as a teenager because I grew up in a conservative community and hadn't come to terms with my own queerness at the time, and was still figuring out how to get by in that community just as a Democrat, much less a lesbian.

Anyway, I got a huge kick out of your ask because it's basically point-for-point my own feelings about them. If you haven't seen it, I even wrote a ship manifesto for them over ten years ago.

And unfortunately I do also agree that the (very PJ film-inflected) fanons around both characters have made it very difficult to find fic for the ship that isn't deeply OOC for the original versions of the characters (tbh the last time I looked, it was hard enough to even find F/A fics where Faramir had black hair, much less his deeper canon characteristics). Add in the fanon depictions of Gondor and the Stewardship, and a lot of what appeals about the pairing is lost for me. I read some good ones a longggg time ago, but wouldn't begin to know where to find them now.

(I know I should be the change I want to see and write some myself, but apart from the AU f/f and m/f/f versions, I think the closest I ever came to it was this post about a mostly-the-same-as-LOTR AU only with Faramir/Aragorn and this feeling explosion about "Faramir actually does accepts the dream-visions obviously intending him to be the one going to Rivendell but also it's Faramir/Aragorn.")

What's King up to in your myosotis AU?

king actually hasn't changed a whole bunch!!! originally i considered swapping him with the collector but... i didn't really like that idea so king is still being raised by Luz! his childhood was definitely different from canon kings tho: for one Luz realized oh this is a Child and treated him as such, unlike eda who thought of him as a pet and then a ""roommate"". this does mean their dynamic is a bit different to the show, although canon eda and myosotis Luz don't take king seriously it's for different reasons. Luz is more of like oh he's just a BABY he's so young i gotta take care of him and a bit more infantalizing i guess?? where king feels like he's not being treated like the mature person he is (which like. sorry man you are 8.) it's like the relationship gets less one sided yk. does what im saying make sense. i just don't really know what ie could/should change from canon so ive kept it pretty similar bc like with Luz and eda I can mirror them but king is just. the outlier. he's just a little guy

he's a bit less dictatory/power hungry (as power hungry as an 8yr can be lmao) and a bit more chill compared to his canon counterpart. he also shares Luz's love for storytelling/reading! i think Luz would still like stories and escapism but im unsure if she would want like. fantasy even tho she lives in a fantasy world or just let regular human stuff Gus style. but king and luz both Love 2 read! this comes into play in S3 w/ collector where instead of... whatever S3 did the BI gets turned into a DnD game! bc of king. it's fun. i love rewriting S3. he's also used to being kinda independent bc sometimes luz has bad days (re: depression + bile sack exhaustion) and she just. can't get out of bed sometimes and take care of him. which is fun

im still working out what i wanna do for his backstory bc like. I Could see Luz realizing oh he's not playing pretend he actually believes this and just... Not stopping it bc she doesn't know how to handle it and it makes him happy (tying into her love of using stories as escapism). Or she could tell him and he knows he isn't actually a king of demons but Luz just refuses to share more of his backstory with him (reasons why she would do this are unclear) which causes king to take Eda + Gus (Gus takes S2 Lilith's place) to his home and then yk how the rest of the ep plays ou. the first one seems to make more sense but I'm also worried with making shit Too identical to canon yk???anyways. have some King drawing attempts

i don't talk abt myosotis king very often mainly,,, because,,,, im so bad at drawing him it's AWFUL. I struggle a lot with like. Nonhuman characters/animals those are my weakness </3 i draw out alot of myosotis stuff so like.. If I can't draw it I usually just don't do much with it?. i do have like. I have this MASSIVE timeline detailing episodes for plots and character arcs and it's a whole thing. Very large project. yeah but king actually has clothes here bc Luz is like well this is a Child i can't let him be naked. Still trying to figure out the whole putting clothes over fur thing and if that's an issue but ya whatever. im terrible at designing outfits sighh. also instead of having the collar with his dad's symbol he and eda make matching friendship bracelets! and then those come into play in S3 bc i didn't forget about that unlike the show lmao. I have a Lot Of Content going on in this au and I looooove talking about it :]

the taeil situation is truly heartbreaking. i had to get off twitter because reading all the horrible things he did genuinely made me sick to my stomach. i genuinely felt like i was going to throw up. i cried and ate my feelings so im feeling a little bit more settled now but i just feel disgusted that i supported him these past few years when all this was going on. he was one of my favourite members too.

Hey, do you have any proof or screenshots about the Predestrogen aphobia thing? I'm not saying I don't believe you, I just genuinely did NOT know she was aphobic. It would be nice to have proof so that people have even more reasons not to support her /gen

I wish I did, for the sake of giving you a clear answer, but I don't collect screenshots like that on principle, so i'm afraid I've got nothing. I remember I'd been following her for maybe 6 months, and I think she'd responded to an anon with a joke about virginity that made the hair on my neck stand up, and went through her blog searching the terms I tend to use to check blogs' stances; ace, asexual, asexy, acehet, that sort of thing, alongside a bunch of others. It can be useful to check if a blog treats transfems differently from transmascs, for example. I found enough posts in contexts that made me uncomfortable, and few enough supportive posts, that I felt it best to unfollow and stay away for my own comfort.

I'm staunchly against calling people out, i think it's a gross practice that discourages people from learning and growing and becoming better versions of themselves, so I'm saying none of this in the interest of encouraging anyone to support or not support anyone else, I'm answering nonny's question as best as I can, and stating that i Do think it can be good to double check blogs you follow, especially big blogs, to see if they consider you a person. The world shouldn't be like that. but we do be stuck in it.
