I want to put my community on the Compendium but we have an application process. Is this okay?

Yes! Just note somewhere in your application that's a requirement. The only thing that is mandatory for the Compendium is that you must be open to new members or have a public-facing/accessible facet. There's no point advertising a community if no one can join it in some way!

Also totally okay! People don't start with large communities. Activity is a must but, whether your server has two or two thousand members, if you're looking for new people to join, I'd love to help you find people.

I want to put my community/resource on the Compendium but I worry its too niche?

Okay, and? If your Eorzean Fishing Alliance has four members but you roleplay every second weekend, I still want to know about it. The same goes for resources; if it's relevant to the game, it'll be useful to someone.

How active does a community need to be?

If you find a community has not been active in about two/three months, send me a message and I'll take a look at it. Communities have ebbs and flows, especially event spaces that may take hiatuses depending on member interest/life events. I'm not strict in my implementation provided a space isn't dead. OOC: Hello. It's been awhile, and I'm not sure if people remember this blog. Originally Milo Answers was created as a fan project for the webcomic "what happens next," but overtime, art got more challenging to create for it, and asks came in less and less. This was never intended to be a roleplay. Ask blogs and RPs are different, but if I listed reasoning for this the post would get super long.

So this marks the end of Milo Answers. If you enjoyed it, I'm sorry. Max Graves never really acknowledged it much apart from a few instances, and communication with him became sparse as well. I originally created it because of something distressing he posted on twitter a few years ago that sounded like he might give up making art entirely. My intention here, more or less, was to create something that whn fans would enjoy participating in, could send theories to, and discuss at large. But that never really happened. You'd think it would've, given how many conversations are held about it in the comments section on the webcomic hosting site. People removed links to Milo Answers from whn's tvtropes article, even though MA has a page itself there... that counts as an answer.

I'll also admit this was done for a selfish reason. I am a webcomic artist myself, and in part, it was because of resentment. Nothing against Max personally; he is a talented artist and has been nothing but gracious in his replies. I highly enjoyed working on this project. The fact that he not only took it seriously but promoted it on twitter still means a lot as well. Stockholm Cat Syndrome hasn't received an update in years because of the lack of an audience- it's a decade old, but there is virtually no discussion, fanart, or anything that would make that project easier for me to continue working on. People aren't reading it anymore. Conversely, what happens next has only been running for three years but has gotten extensive coverage, fanart, etc. An entire fanbase developed on twitter and tumblr, mainly in part due to popularity. This probably sounds spiteful. Though I still appreciate whn for what it is and am not owed anything, the worship of it got kind of irritating overtime. It was hard not to think of the state of my comic after hiatus whenever I read those discussions. But instead of complaining, I got the idea to make something based on it, to interpret the characters based off candid personal experiences while still respecting the source material. That's how this blog came into existence. When the amount of asks dwindled, it became pretty frustrating, and making surreal posts was sort of a desperate move to get people interested that didn't work. I grew up using sites like tumblr, reading MLP ask blogs (I used to run one called Ask Fruity Fusion in 2012), so whn's take on internet subcultures as well as sites dedicated to harassment more or less hit home for me. It is still something I can appreciate after multiple readings. For many readers, the comic touched them as well, bringing people together from different places.

This is an addition I'm hesitant to make here, but on lol/cow farm, there's a thread dedicated to critiquing whn. I'm not sure if Kiwi F/arms created an actual one as well, but continuing to run this blog puts me at risk of real harassment. I've included slashes here in order to make the post harder to search for so that people participating in the "lolcow" thread won't find it, though that's likely not going to stop them from making screencaps or mocking what I've said here.

If people want this blog to continue, let me know and I'll consider running it. I was thinking of doing something like making Prequel Adventure-esque character sprites that would simplify responses. But for now, MA is over.

the person who viciously harassed some of my friends over JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure twitter RP and alienated me from the JoJo fandom ~8 years ago is now a popular tumblr artist and I just saw their comic going around about overcoming trauma and depression and how difficult it has been for them.

And like. It puts some things in perspective. The time period that the whole harassment and destruction of the RP space happened in was one of the worst times in their lives, and I get how they must have been feeling helpless, vindictive, and wanting to feel any kind of power and control.

But also. They harassed and were overly cruel my friends over RP’ing JoJo characters on twitter wrong. And I still hold a grudge every time I see their art getting passed around as popular and inspirational.

Okay, I think some people on Twitter, hmmm

Why are some of them making this about q!Foolish and q!slime? I think some people are misinterpreting and assuming q!bad is being played the fool, but really, his grievances is more about being seen as a tool? Maybe they’re upset because that’s what their characters are going through? But they’re also ignoring other things q!bad did for said characters.

Sure he said some off things with q!slime and arguably pranks q!foolish a lot, but he also helps give them so many things, I don’t understand why people say he deserves this karma? I mean, q!slime did try to kill all the eggs before, his egg included. In rp, wouldn’t you be upset if someone did that? Q!bad usually tries to lean into rp whenever he plays on the server. He words were terrible sure, but he gave q!slime a full deck of maxed out armour and a backpack for basically free once, just because he felt bad for him. Even went on a little adventure to cheer him up. I understand that maybe q!slime viewers didn’t see this because it was on another persons stream and slime wasn’t streaming but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

He helps to take care of Leonarda for q!foolish, and this isn’t to say q!Foolish is a bad parent, he’s a great parent! But it’s just that, so many people are saying q!bad deserves this law against him for wronging q!foolish? Land duo are just different in my opinion, they know when to push and when to stop, and it’s their thing. Q!BBH pulls pranks, but never really with the intent of permanent damage or significant damage. They’re almost always easily removed. Q!foolish calls q!bad names and they argue but that’s how they work. But if you want to argue their interactions a little, q!foolish also does leave and expect q!BBH to take care of his egg. There was even a weekend where q!BBH explained he would’ve liked a heads up, and q!foolish just said he already kind of expected q!bad would do it anyways. And there have been times where q!bad would ask for some thank you’s from q!foolish, for taking care of Leonarda at times, to which they banter and it never happened.

But this isn’t really about q!slime and q!foolish, so I don’t understand why people are so insistent in bringing up Bad’s wrongs with these two people? When this is his grievance. Saying he deserved it for the wrong he’s done with these two, when they’ve also done things that contribute to the build up on why he’d be upset? I’d rule out land duo personally, because I like to think they’re the only duo that can mess with each other and more or less understand, but if you’re going to bring it up, I’ll bring up my counter argument.

What his grievances is really about is starting to feel more like a tool, the government issues, and his relationship with q!forever. It’s about q!bbh, so why rope those two into this???

They say q!BBH treated them badly, so he deserves this. Q!slime tried to murder every egg after Juanaflippa died. Did he succeed? No. Does he regret it? Ye. No harm done yeah? But he did try to kill a lot of eggs, and the intent was definitely there, even if he’s apologetic of it later on. Do people have to forgive him straight away cause the intent was there, even if he was grieving and upset? I don’t think so. If q!slime did the same thing recently, people would be a lot more upset, seeing as to how they reacted when q!forever striked Leonarda during an intense moment.

I guess maybe it gives people more insight on the wrongs of q!bbh? Hmmm… But it kind of just feels at one point that people just don’t want to hear out his character at all, and just go ahead inserting other characters to discredit how q!BBH is being fleshed out. It feels a little unfair because when slime was upset, people were happy to support him, even so far as having six people defending him (q!BBH included) for attempted murder? And q!foolish lore where he felt isolated because of the pac and Mike arresting and being stuck in the nether. That lore was okay, and is appreciated. Why not this one?

I just don’t think it’s fair to call it karma? When all characters are a little morally grey. You can have favourites, but come on. And then saying he deserves it, despite the fact he helped out those two a lot as well. Feels a little in bad taste.

But this is again just my opinion, I’m not necessarily the best, and if you’d like to discuss, please do so politely! And if you disagree, just ignore this post and move on

I am 19 years old, white, American, and ace bi. I'm a ciswoman but I go by all pronouns, she/he/they/it and neopronouns are all acceptable, whatever you see fit or comfortable to call me!

Trans people of all kinds are welcome on my profile, alongside queer people in general! I am pr0-choice and pr0-p4lestine, I don't talk about my p0litical stances much but those are the two most important i can think to mention.

Disabled people, with both invisible and visible disabilities, are also welcome (these feel obvious but I've seen people who make it feel necessary)

If i look like im censoring some words by using numbers or symbols, that's a force of habit. I don't like appearing in search terms unless I actively want to, it usually invites the wrong people, so i "censor" terms that I think might draw the attention of bad apples.

Uh my rules for RP are a tiny bit strict but not in the way your probably thinking.

Im one of those "planning ahead" type of roleplayers who like to map out a scenario and key events before we begin and occasionally take pauses between major scenes to plot elements of the future. If you can handle that, then I'd say your golden! Im not picky with the length or detail in responses, as long as theres something to work with, I can usually move things along. The only other restriction i can think of is: when it comes to the sexualities of my characters, please respect them. Thats really it :)

I do platonic roleplays, adventure, romantic, and slice of life. I'm not much for action stuff unless its the spice thrown into the other types occasionally. I'm pretty flexible though, so we can talk about it individually if need be.

Oh, and no nsfw RP. I dont do s3x, and im not much for depicting "elicit substances" to put it lightly. Alc0hol might be the only exception, if its kept in small doses. If for some strange reason our characters end up in a s3xual scenario, we're skipping to the aftermath.

Edit: Some of my OCs have romantic interests made/owned by my boyfriend. This element can be removed for romance roleplays if need be (although they will still be with his OCs outside of the roleplay)

OOC: State of Mummery 2023

On the eve of Amon’s Nameday (tomorrow), I just wanted to take a moment to talk about Spot of Mummery, my creative endeavors (rather the lack of), a bit about what’s happening IRL, and what I’d like to do more of in 2024.

I want to start this with a disclaimer – I’m going to talk about difficult things that I don’t normally address here, but I am doing okay. I’ve learned how to work through many difficulties the last couple of years, and this is not a post of lament.

Some might know that I lost my father unexpectedly right before Christmas last year.

Most don’t know that for the last couple of years (and right now currently), I’m also dealing with unexplained chest pain on and off through the year. My heart was checked this past year, and that was all fine. It’s undiagnosed, but I’m thinking (and the cardiologist also thinks) it’s a form of inflammation. The pain I can deal with, the worry about “what is this?” is a bit more troublesome.

All this is to say, I haven’t been very creative in 2023.

During NaNoWriMo of 2022, I finally wrote Amon’s triumphant return to Syrcus Tower in the First, as I’ve wanted to for years. But then, my Dad passed, and it took months for me to finish editing and posting all that writing. I did finally get it done, but my focus was other places, obviously.

In 2023, I haven’t written a word for Amon’s story outside of the Choose Amon’s Adventures (which I’d like to get started up again, maybe) and his silly adventures on Island Sanctuary (which I need to complete with the newest content for the last patch).

My RP interactions here have been little to none. My energy for attending in game events has been low.

I did organize my own event around the NA fanfest, and that went great, actually! Thanks to all who attended!

But aside from that, Lunarcon, and a few small art parties, I’ve kept to myself a lot this year. In fact, my game time in FFXIV is probably an all-time low – and that’s not because I’ve fallen out of love with the game.

On a positive note, the whole fiasco at Twitter/X brought me back to this Tumblr account full-time. I was already moving this direction, but now I’m here primarily. I do have a Pillowfort and a Blue Sky account for Amon, but Tumblr is my main gig.

I’m not exactly sure where I’m going with all this, other than to just note that my creativity and interaction has not been up to snuff this year. I’d love to say something like, “My resolution for next year is to knock it out of the park!” – but the reality is, I’m not sure what I can commit to just yet.

I think what I'd like most of all to start by getting back into enjoying time spent in game with Amon again, for one. Not that I dislike time spent with Amon, just that I recognize that it’s not got that spark that once motivated me (probably user error).

To be fair, though, I haven’t been spending a lot of time with any of my characters in game like I used to. So, it’s not just Amon.

If you’ve gone through a time where you needed to reconnect with your OCs, let me know how that turned out and what you did. I’m open to suggestions!

A Moment in Time: Risri owns a little photography studio on the canal side of the Trade District in Stormwind. Visitors would find photographs she has taken at events and around the worlds on the walls up for display or purchase (mostly landscapes for purchase).  She also does photo shoots in her studio (think family portrait).  She can be hired to take photos for events (she had done several weddings) or even for special reasons.  This is the perfect venue to meet Risri whether you’re just browsing or coming in to schedule something in particular.

Cenarion Circle: Risri is a member of the Cenarion Circle. Anyone who is a member could know Risri or know of her. She became a druid with the circle about 100 years ago. Druid things are always welcome whether its teaching or just chatting about events.

Other ideas:  Risri once ran @the-royal-courier​  many people know of her from those days, its okay to be one of them without chatting to me first. She often wanders taking photos out in the city, maybe she snapped one of you - its perfectly fine to question or even be angry that she did so, or even ask for a copy!

The idea i had was Fionna and Simon get summoned by Prismo and they have to fix the rips they made in the universes they travelled to, for example they left baby finn in the vampire world and they have to go back and return him to his own world. While doing that they could run into the vampire king again who has his eyes set on stealing the remote since he has almost wiped out all of his food. We could brain storm together ^^

i simply think it is so fun to imagine a world where a company makes a bunch of androids to assist people and provide companionship so they give the androids stories and release them in certain themes or lines and those androids are the genshin characters. credit to @yandere-daydreams for the idea. i love it so much. yes we all want x character to be our boyfriend or girlfriend and we have sex with them yes but i think its fun to imagine their roles when theyre not being yandere...

if this is set in teyvats world imagine amber being like a gliding instructor in mondstadt. good engineer too, maybe the first bot that can fix other bots/have intricate knowledge of them (because she made baron bunny).

for human injuries theres barbara and jean, but with different temperaments for different patients. or if we're still set in teyvat, then jean (and the rest of the favonius knights characters) are actually android assistants to the actual human knights. basically the androids replace vision holders??

but yeah kaeya would also be a knight assistant, noelles story is she trains super hard but still isnt a knight (because shes made to help actual trainees!). lisa of course manages the library. yeah sorry thats it. makes tea

and i had the idea (this is all stolen from my own twitter thread from *checks* last year? anyway) that they would tease the release of bots like diluc, rosaria and razor through voicelines from kaeya, barbara and lisa. really like the idea of razor originally being some sort of surveillance android for wolvendom/integrating with them in some way for research and sort of became a guide for people who get lost in wolvendom.

diona and diluc are two different types of bartenders, one is good against people who cant say no to a cute (angry) kitty and the others... are those require some intimidation.

VENTI. god, i think itd be cool if they had prototype models for the seven archons and actual venti bots now definitely play into the "broke bard who plays for alcohol" thing. but of course anyone with eyes knows that his original model was the barbatos android.

oh!! and bennett and fischl being adventurers buddies. bennett is "unlucky" but hes actually like, wired to be hypervigilant and take hits for you while he shrugs it off. and fischl comes with oz if you need some chuuni speech translated, but you can disable that if you want to go full rp with her.

klee is. i suppose made for the knights. a cute energetic girl to keep morale up, whos fireproof and thus able to scout dangerous areas/bomb them if you so wish.

oh yeah i wrote that the church was not happy about the rosaria bots being made so they relegated her to guarding dragonspine against foolish adventurers. as to why she keeps appearing in bars, well, uh. No comment — Celestia Inc.

the lawrence clan wanted in on this business and sponsored a representative of their family, but mondstadts opinion of them is less than friendly, so the knights compromise and make eula, a lawrence knight.

whew okay for some reason i was able to churn out a lot for mondstadt and then everyone else i was like uh yeah. they exist and do things similar to what they do in game like xiangling being a cook's aide. yep. idk why the mondstadt worldbuilding gripped me so hard like that.

also my last thought is that maybe the hilichurls are just the verryyy alpha version of their bots, the khaenri'ah line (i think daydream mentioned this) and maybe just broke down and went rogue/abandoned. so now they make better bots to fight them and keep people safe. go figure. earns them a ton of cash though. lol imagine if getting them was a lottery too....

Character Headcanons (Part 1) - Karen (Pokemon)

Over more than a decade, I had the honor of portraying Karen on PokeTwitter (the main Pokemon RP community on Twitter). While those days are long past, they did help me develop personal headcanons for Karen and I wanted to start sharing them here. I'll do 5 for now and see if there's interest. (These all build off the Pokemon Adventures/PokeSpe canon, so this is the version of Karen that was a member of Neo Team Rocket under the Mask of Ice.)

While she did eventually adopt the Dark type as her expertise, even being the first fully-licensed Master-level trainer to specialize in the notoriously difficult Type, Karen wasn't always a specialist in it. Instead, her previous expertise was the Fighting type, as it coincided with her father's career as a boxer. She still has a soft spot in her heart for the Fighting type to this day, Something she reps with her Pangoro (nicknamed Bancho) and Scrafty (nicknamed Hoody).

Her mother was a retired Pokemon Trainer and baker and her father is a retired championship boxer and former military man. Unfortunately, cancer took her mother from her shortly after she left Neo Team Rocket and reconciled with her family. It's one of Karen's greatest regrets, not being able to be there more for her mother in those final years. Her relationship with her father was previously tenuous, but they have repaired it gradually, with the two sharing holidays together.

Unlike Green and Silver, who were traumatically kidnapped by Ho-Oh and the Mask of Ice, Karen chose to go with him because she was bored with her life of drills (her father had been teaching her to fight to be his successor in the boxing ring, something Karen found boring). She also did so to spite her father.

When Green was kidnapped by the Mask of Ice, Karen was happy to meet her as she had never had a sibling and found the idea of another girl to be fascinating. She even attempted to comfort the young Green by brushing her hair on her first night with them. They formed a unique bond, one that would eventually flourish into complex feelings much later into their adulthoods.

Karen is pansexual, though leans much more toward preferring the company of women. Of her many relationships, she is most famous for her brief relationships with Cynthia and Lucian of the Sinnoh League, as well as Phoebe and Sidney of the Hoenn Elite Four. She is deeply in love with Green of Pallet Town, though this being true love, she finds it nearly impossible to express it.
