Okay so Project Moon was going to drop their roadmap (steam link / twitter) on friday and they simply reveal it on thursday. Nice.
Tumblr media
Lots of good things here.
As expected, we get more identities and EGO. 2 per month it seems. Roughly.
Thread/Experience Luxcavation (twitter):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So we finally get a way to get thread, probably not egoshards.
Changes to mirror dungeons:
Tumblr media
We get 450 lunacy (3 rolls and a bit) now. Instead of 3 and a half BP levels we get 6. We get almost the same amount of boxes (25/15 -> 24/15).
IF I’ve understood this correctly, instead of doing 5 dungeons per week and then having only more dungeons (with reduced rewards) we do:
3 dungeons per week, increased rewards but no Sinner XP
3 XP dungeons, it says “XP from combat” and identity training tickets, which is what we are getting currently on normal dungeons
3 thread dungeons that change daily. Doesn’t say how much, but since it’s weekly and the changes seem to address rewards it may be generous (3x10 threads with bonus(?))
One thing to note is that XP and thread dungeons cost enkephalin, not modules. So we won’t be able to hoard boxes to run those later. I don’t think it will be a problem since it’s 3 of each weekly, you can still hoard modules, but how worth doing it is depends on the rewards without the weekly bonus.
Leaving that aside, in March we get “combat adjustments”. Possibly nerfs/buffs to both stages/dungeons and identities. Kurokumo and Tingtang Hong Lu are extremely busted, but since whatever they release could be strong aswell they might just leave them as they are.
Mini-event “Attendance Rewards”. Daily login bonuses perhaps. New players incentives could it be. Sounds good either way.
Another extraction later, more identities and EGO. Cool.
On April: 2 extractions and a dungeon event. Limited time on the event, but content will remain available. I’m taking this to mean the event rewards will be time limited but you can still do this new dungeon normally. They also say there might be reruns. Nice.
On May: It appears less “clear” so to speak. 3 new extractions (1 with no EGO), chapter 4 in parts and new BP, in parts too.
On June: Finished chapter 4, finished BP, second dungeon, 1 more extraction.
On July: Another dungeon event maybe, limited time. Content will remain, extra rewards are limited. This is speculative. Also ??? and ???. Interesting.
On August: Mini-events. Nice.
On September: Chapter 5.
On October: Dungeon 3. Big event looks like.
Overall it looks fun. Curious about what the non-bonus rewards for dungeons are, since it’s the main thing to run when there’s no events. It will be its own post eventually.

Do you think the next event is gonna be something original entirely or something like this
https://game.granbluefantasy.jp/#comic/1071/1/18/1550/1 lowain bros au trip style ( I saw some Jp Twitter blogs speculating on ssr ejaeli)
link
omg i didn't know about this one, it's so cute???
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
honestly i would have assumed something entirely new (and expected it would include Poseidon as it would explain why Auguste of the Dead is having a rerun)
but i didn't know Ejaeli had a mermaid take on her, so... maybe ??? this could work for her.
the Lowain Bros and Korwa recently got an event so i would assume if it was an AU they wouldn't be involved, but i'm curious about what it could be
I don't know Ejaeli enough to really guess more about what could happen around all of this so i guess it's wait and see?
Thanks for redirecting me to this though, that's good to know that's the ref!!!

wait what did disney do?? well i mean they done tons of stuff so what did they do this time
amphibia, which has been airing consecutively for the past two months, had its season finale scheduled for tomorrow. it’s been scheduled for months and pretty hyped up and promoted by the crew, and there’s been a lot of buildup in the show itself.
a couple hours ago (less than twelve hours before true colors would debut) disney announced that true colors would not premiere tomorrow and it would be suspended indefinitely.
this is a pretty awful move on its own, because with the show’s weekly consecutive airing, it’s a lot easier to get ratings up and audiences excited as opposed to dropping an episode in the middle of nowhere. the dedicated fans are going to pay attention, of course, but casual fans who like watching amphibia on saturday mornings might not. and it’s also the season finale. they had all this buildup and now we have to wait. i also heard something offhand about international/streaming releases on may 9th that could cause the episode to leak, resulting a lower view count and fan reactions on the actual airdate. disney also has a history of not promoting amphibia as much as they’ve promoted some of their more popular shows (and fucking over all of their shows in general, but that’s a whole other can of worms).
the crew most likely didn’t know either until or right before we did, because they’ve been posting all kinds of promotional art for weeks now, and it hasn’t stopped today. they’ve put a lot of time and energy into both the season/show as a whole and this culminating episode, so it’s a really shitty experience for them too.
we don’t know why disney suddenly postponed true colors. at first, we thought it was a scheduling issue, and they dropped it to focus on another event airing that day - a “halfway to halloween” special event to promote an upcoming show called the ghost and molly mcgee. but multiple crew members both inside and out of amphibia have confirmed that’s not the case at all. it’s also unrelated to next saturday’s big city greens marathon (since some speculated it might air next week). i’ve also seen a couple angry comments putting down molly mcgee because it ousted amphibia, which is completely unfair. it’s disney’s fault, not molly mcgee’s. i’m worried it might not get the audience it deserves because something out of both of the crews’ control.
dana terrace mentioned on twitter that it was something about “cowardice”. this is pretty vague, but i think it basically means the amphibicrew went above and beyond with this episodes and pushed the boundaries of animation. i accidentally saw a spoiler (:/) so i thiiiiiink i know what she meant and it’s probably not what you’re thinking but it’s still not something you’d expect to see from disney at all. so that’s probably why they panicked and pulled the plug all of a sudden - but if they had problems with true colors’ content, they should have told the crew when they pitched the episode. and lord knows disney monitors their shows’ content meticulously. i mean what they should be doing is allowing their shows to flourish and animation as a medium to grow, but maybe that’s too much.
this is completely horrible on its own, but unfortunately, the saga continues.
i’m editing this post as of 5/2/21 (original was posted on 4/30) to change some information that’s now been debunked by the crew. sometime this morning, before i woke up, true colors leaked. itunes apparently didn’t get the memo that it wasn’t airing yet (whether disney didn’t tell them or their releases are automated is up in the air) and a couple people put it on youtube. this is basically a nightmare for the crew. leaks are pretty dangerous for ratings and could cause the actual airing to flop. the best thing to do is not to watch it, but a bunch of people already have, and some of them have posted spoilers. so be careful and block spoiler tags! i’d generally avoid the main tags too, just in case.
they also switched the 9:30 slot true colors would air in for an amphibia rerun, which means the timeslot is still available. i’ve seen a couple people speculate the episode might not be finished, but the crew’s been promoting it tirelessly, so i don’t really think so. it’s just such an odd decision and i’m worried it’s going to mess up multiple shows. what the fuck disney.

Can you explain how residuals work? How long someone receives them and if the amount and time varies depending on contract? Would an actor/actress from a wildly successful show on one of the 3 major networks, let's use Friends or Seinfeld as an example, be able to make a living on their residuals?
Boy you really want me to lose readers by boring them into a coma.
Let’s make this super easy. For reruns in syndication, the actor is paid 40% of the minimum rate for the first rerun program, dropping to 30% for the second rerun, 25% for the third rerun, and so on until it reaches 5% of the original fee the actor was paid for their appearance if the episode for the 12th rerun and beyond. There are also residuals for foreign telecasts of the program; these are arrived at using an entirely different formula based upon the distributor's foreign gross.
Let’s use Gunther from Friends and make it super-super easy by saying the show is on it’s 13th rerun.  In season 1, the actor earned $5,000 per episode and appeared in six episodes so his total salary was $30,000 and his residual is $1,500 every time season 1 airs.  In season 2, the actor appeared in 16 episodes and earned $10,000 per episode so his total salary is $160,000 and his residual is $8,000 everytime season 2 airs.   For seasons 3 and 4, he earned $20,000 per episode, earning $600,000 and earning $30,000 every time season 3 and 4 airs. For seasons 5 and 6, 37 episodes, he earned $30,000 per episode, $1.11 million for those seasons and his residual is $55,500 everytime season 5 and 6 airs.   For the remainder of the series, 62 episodes in which he appeared, he earned $40,000 per episode. That's $2.48 million for the seasons and $124,000 everytime season 7,8,9, 10 airs.  Add it all up and Gunther’s total residual is  $220,000 everytime all 10 Friends seasons air per local station.  So yes, Gunther can live off his residuals for the rest of his life.
Of course residual calculation is far more complex and gets really hairy when you throw in streaming and dvd sales and the foreign market.
Yes the residuals does vary by contract for big TV stars because they will have clauses in their contracts that allow them to earn far more money than the base amount covered by a SAG-AFTRA contract.  Jared’s future Walker residuals are negotiated between him and Rideback production company at the time of when he signed onto the role.
My stupidly simplistic speculation for Supernatural cast --- everytime all 15 seasons of SPN airs on TNT.....
Jared gets $3 million total.
Jensen gets $2.2 million total.
Misha gets $120K total.
And remember kids, this is before tax, agent, lawyer, managers take their 50% total cut.  Once TNT decreases airtime for SPN reruns or stops all together, then the residuals are drastically reduced or runs out.
All residuals will decrease over time because the rates are usually based upon the performer receiving decreasing fractions of their initial payments even after the amounts reach cents per episode.  Drake was a cast member of Degrassi and twenty years later posted an image of his residuals paycheck on Instagram, it was $8.25.   The Big Bang Theory Mayim Bialik wrote on her Instagram that she got a net pay of one cent for her guest appearance in Doogie Howser, M.D twenty five years earlier.  Garrett Wang showed off his residual check for twenty four cents (X) on twitter thirteen years after Star Trek Voyager went off the air.
I’ve suspected for a long time that Jared gets percentage of Supernatural profits in syndication, so after his terms of residuals run out he will still be reaping syndication profits for, well, forever.  I don’t think Jensen has the same deal partly because his old manager appears to be a tick and his former WME agent doesn’t appear to be any better.  So Jensen makes up for some of the pay gap between him and Jared by directing episode so he can collect director residuals.  Next, Jensen license his music to the show to get royalties in lieu of syndication percentages.

Old School X is a project interviewing X-Files fanfic authors who were posting fic during the original run of the show. New interviews are posted every Tuesday.
Interview with MaybeAmanda
MaybeAmanda has been a longtime participant in X-files fandom. She has 29 stories at Gossamer, the earliest being archived there in 1998 and the latest in 2012. I've recced some of my favorites of her stories here before, including "Malus Genus" and "Snow in Alabama." Big thanks to MaybeAmanda for doing this interview.
Does it surprise you that people are still interested in reading your X-Files fanfics and others that were posted during the original run of the show (1993-2002)?
It does, in a way.  The feedback I get nowadays is either of the "I read this like 20 years ago and I just read it again" variety or the "I was too young back in the day but I have been watching the show in reruns/on XYZ streaming service/on the full-series of DVDs I got for $3 from the thrift store and I was THRILLED to discover fanfiction was being written even in the Dark Ages!" So it's a bit of a surprise, but it's a pleasant one. I answer every mail/comment because my mama raised me right!
What do you think of when you think about your X-Files fandom experience? What did you take away from it?
It was great. It was fun. It was educational. It was a godsend. Even with the occasional bouts of back-stabbing and flame-throwing, it was mainly a welcoming, inclusive place to be. I made so many online friends who have turned into meat-friends (do they still call them that? Probably not).  During the first run of the show I had small children and we had relocated for my husband's job.  I had very little social life, but the fandom gave me a chance to meet and connect with people who liked what I liked. Then I discovered online fanfic, and it was even better!
Social media didn't really exist during the show's original run. How were you most involved with the X-Files online (atxc, message board, email mailing list, etc.)?
ATXC I think.  A lot of email lists - 5 or 6 or 7 or so over the years. Gossamer, of course, Ephemeral when that came into being.  Haven discussion boards. My own websites.
What did you take away from your experience with X-Files fic or with the fandom in general?
More than anything?  I am a fangirl.
What was it that got you hooked on the X-Files as a show?
I have always been partial to sci-fi and speculative fiction, but it rarely makes it to the screen - large or small - without being trite, clichéd, or just plain bad. It's easy to forget that The X-Files was groundbreaking - smart, scary, funny, insightful, intriguing, complex plots, on-going mythology. It looked great. It sounded great. David Duchovny was pleasant to look at, too, and damn! Gillian Anderson is/was one hell of an actress.
What got you involved with X-Files fanfic?
I found XF fanfic - somehow - probably by accident, or by way of a recommendation - and it blew my mind.  I had written fanfic (of a sort) with my friends in highschool, so I was familiar with the beast, but to find what amounted to excellent story after excellent story for free within (relatively) easy reach (because dial-up, right?) written by people who, for the most part, were thrilled you read their story and were happy to talk to you about it, about writing in general, about your shared obsession - that was amazing. As I am sitting here typing this I am feeling that thrill again - discovering Karen Rasch, Madeliene Partous, Paula Graves [Lilydale note: AKA Anne Haynes], Sheryl Martin and all the other early BNFs was, well, the only word is exciting. I felt like I was a member of a secret society and that I was sitting at the popular kids lunch table, all at once. (Don't forget, in the early days, shippers were considered delusional outliers - seriously!)
What is your relationship like now to X-Files fandom?
Good?   It's not as lively a place as it once was, but I haven't renounced my citizenship or anything. If I get a rec, I check it out. I know there are those who like to pretend they never had anything to do with the fandom, but why? I am still a proud XPhile.
Were you involved with any fandoms after the X-Files? If so, what was it like compared to X-Files?
Angel (a teeny tiny bit) while XF was still running, but those fans were - I don't know the word.  Hardcore does not begin to do it justice. I wrote two short pieces at a friend's request then backed away slowly. Sherlock (a bit) - it is/was very LJ centred and that made it hard to find things. A lot of it moved to tumblr which made it harder, then to twitter, which - no.  I was involved in one of the less fashionable facets of the Sherlock fandom, so I was really a fringe-dweller there, too. It seemed clique-ier than XF, and they all seemed so young, and they all knew EVERYTHING about everything, and every damned thing was political, and, and, and... GET OFF MY LAWN!
But maybe I am remembering the XF fandom wrong. ;)
Who are some of your favorite fictional characters? Why?
Like, all fiction? Mulder and Scully for sure. Arthur Dent. Sherlock Holmes in most of his incarnations. Spock. Winnie the Pooh. Why do I like them?  They speak to me, I guess.
Do you ever still watch The X-Files or think about Mulder and Scully?
I haven't watched an episode in probably two years (back when it was on regular tv).  Yeah, I think about them surprisingly often.  Story ideas, weirdly.
Do you ever still read X-Files fic?
I finished re-reading The Iolokus Series a couple of weeks back, so yes.  It's excellent comfort reading.
Do you have any favorite X-Files fanfic stories or authors?
Lots! But as far as authors go, I hate playing favourites. I will miss someone I shouldn't and feel like crap.  The Iolokus Series by MustangSally and Rivka T. is probably my all-time favourite fic because it's so very well-written, and so very fucked-up. Kipler's Strangers and the Strange Dead is also terrifically well-written and clever. For complex, interesting case files, you can’t beat syntax6 - pick any of them.
What is your favorite of your own fics, X-Files and/or otherwise?
Oh geez. Seriously? I wrote a lot of collaborations and I love them - and my co-authors - all!  Stuff I wrote on my own: Anniversary Waltz (first XF fic I wrote so it's sentimental.) Or Blue Patches. Or Epiphany. Or The Gifts of the Magi (On a Kaiser Roll). Or 221XF.  Gonna stop now.
Do you think you'll ever write another X-Files story?
Every time I thought I wouldn't, I did. I would never say never.
Or dust off and post an oldie that for whatever reason never made it online?
Nothing finished ever went un-posted. All the unfinished stuff remains unfinished.
Do you still write fic now?
Haven't for a while, but it's not as if I have said "I SHALL NEVER WRITE FANFIC AGAIN!" I just have nothing in the works at this moment.
Where do you get ideas for stories?
With fic, it's usually from canon - some question unanswered, some road unexplored, some "what if?" that needs iffing.  With "original" fiction, damned if I know.  A snippet of overheard conversation, an interesting photo, something a random story generator spit out at me.  Sometimes things just click.
What's the story behind your pen name?
Okay so...many years ago I was on a (smallish) fic list with a friend.  There was a challenge posted - a bad fic challenge. We knew we could write some truly bad fic if we really tried.  One of the rules of the challenge was to post under an assumed name so no one would know who they were voting for. Well, my friend and I wrote something truly, painfully horrid and we were very proud of its ghastliness, so were brainstorming possible pseudonyms. She hated everything but had no real suggestions of her own.  I knew that she was a bit of a Trekkie (like me) and I said - What about Amanda Greyson and Joanna McCoy?  And she said  - What?? Huh?? Why?? And I said - Spock's mother and McCoy's daughter and she replied, "Maybe Amanda is Spock's mother but on Star Trek there is not a Joanna." By this point, I was SO DONE, and I became MaybeAmanda and she became NotJoanna. Really.
Do your friends and family know about your fic and, if so, what have been their reactions?
It took years for me to admit it, but yeah, they know.  They didn't entirely get it.  The reactions I most often got were:
"Ew! You write stuff without being forced?? Ew!!"
or:
"Is it smut? I bet it's just smut. You write smut, don't you? Pure filth, right? I can't believe you are wasting your time writing pornography! That's disgusting! You sicken me! Um, can I read some of it?"
And of course:
"If you are going to write anyway, why don't you get published and become fabulously wealthy?"
which is really two questions, neither of which is easily answerable.
Anyone who tracked my work down (because I told them I wrote, but not my pseudonym) usually said something like, "Hey! You're an okay/passable/decent writer! Why don't you get published and become fabulously wealthy?"
Yeah.
Is there a place online (tumblr, twitter, AO3, etc.) where people can find you and/or your stories now?
Same old email (maybe_a@rocketmail_dot_com). Gossamer, my site, my LJ and probably some other places.  I can't lie - it's a bit scattered.

MAN. SO. I wrote a twitter thread like handful of days ago and been chatting a bit about TAG’s future a bit... just yesterday even and I can’t get over the irony the very next day then TAGHQ dropped that tweet. XDDD
Anyhoo, this is edited a bit from my initial string of tweets cause I discovered a few other things of note. XD Apologies it’s SUPER long. lol
SO. TAG's end seems to be approaching... right? OR IS IT? I've seen talk of it being cancelled, but uh... how can something be cancelled that we never had indication would go past 3 seasons? It's just not had (so far) more commissioned. lol
Unless someone's read/heard something (that’s credible!) that I haven't, that's been as far as we knew it was going so far. Series DO end, and given TAG is expensive and time consuming to make (going model/cgi hybrid def made their lives so much harder lol) it wouldn't be surprising at all to me.
There’s also some thought that it’s not continuing due to some amount of failure. But there's no evidence it's failed? It has sold to networks all over the world. ITV bragged the first chunk of S3 eps reached 1.4m people and was #1 kid show across their networks. The second chunk of eps increased to 2.2m! (These all coming from Toy World Magazine UK.) Three different networks bought the show here in Canada even! So the idea it’s failed seems like a stretch to me
So like. Yeah. If this is the end... fair enough imho. lol BUT. No one has really said THIS IS IT. That's what's strange even...
There's a cage-y-ness surrounding it. Everyone has spoken of the end of season 3, but really no one's claimed it to be absolute THE END of the show. In fact, ITV's behavior towards S3 has been downright strange imho.
In 2018, Season 3 started kinda surprisingly soon after the end of S2. Then it suddenly stopped before the mid-way point. It was bizarre at first until an article was uncovered, where a small reference to a new toy deal came to light. Then it did make sense. (Though bit strange new toys being made towards possibly the end of the show, but okay... ...Which is now even STRANGER since found out there’s even MORE toys coming.)
Fast forward to London toy fair, and reps of the toys were saying first the 'property would return in June' and that the final 9 eps had been held back for the toy launch... which was meant to be in the fall. It was a bit confusing until TAG returned even sooner with 9 more eps in May.
So then it seemed like, OKAY, so last 8 will be in Fall with the toy launch. Which would make sense. The toys... the show... before Christmas... sell ALL the toys. Right? ...Wrong apparently. This is where it starts getting kinda really weird. They claim it's scheduling etc.
But why the heck would you not want the series on (Least a couple eps even?) with your new toyline that you'd want to have sell truckloads of for Christmas??? Why the delay into the new year? Which I even questioned would actually happen in January... but now it seems it IS in fact gonna be back in January.
So. WHY? I have 0 knowledge of TV toys selling, so undoubtedly I could be entirely wrong, but my gosh, in terms of common sense? This utterly baffles me. And THEN we now know in Q1 MORE toys are even about to be released. More toys. During or just after the show, allegedly, ends? What???
What exactly is ITV's game plan here??? So that aside, some other small things I've noticed...
A lot thought that interview with both David's had David Graham confirming TAG's end... but uh... pretty sure he was saying they'd wrapped recording the voices for S3 given the Q asked. (Which of course, was done a REALLY long time ago for them when came to the second part of S3. lol)
Then digging a bit cause the Wiki was still reporting Graham said no more eps were being made, apparently a written interview with him was where he was quoted as saying that, but it was rather swiftly edited. No cap exists, unfortunately, to show so. Question is was it David being mistaken or was it an misquote by the site? (Goodness knows these things happen... Many of us older fans I’m sure recall the tiny blurb interview where Kayo’s VA suggested it was JOHN, rather than Alan, who had a thing for Kayo. It was either a slip by Kayo’s VA or a mistake by the article writer. lol) I think it says a lot that, if that DID really happen, it was DELETED rather than it being said.
Then there's an interview with the Fosters at a music event which they seemed to talk a little kinda endish... BUT when asked just after the recording for the finale of S3 if... It was THE END, the end and the reply was 'Certainly not!' and date wise, pretty sure that was after the interview at the music event was recorded. BUT then this was said over a year ago now, so who knows now.
Also in a People interview with Lee Majors he was kinda joking around but said, "If they go for a fourth season, which I hope they do, then maybe my part will have worked,” Majors jokes. “You’ll see how good I was if they don’t get picked up!”
Yeah, a 4th season didn’t seem to be happening when he was interviewed... but also making it apparent there was, at the time, some unknown-ness to TAG's future.
AND THEN there’s the plans for that theme park in Kent that they said they’d have "rides and attractions themed around ITV's Thunderbirds Are Go, and Robozuna" The later is still a fairly new show... but... TAG? It's def TAG they're wanting to use. That's AGAIN super interesting for a show that might be on the cusp of being done and would long be just in reruns by the time this park comes into being? Maybe it's not that weird at all. IDK. (Be awesome if happens!) But my common sense-a-meter is just all... *squints at ITV*
Tl;dr TAG might be over and imho it'll be understandable and doubt any failure. (Like. BTW. Richard Taylor compared making a season of TAG to making 6-7 Coraline's in a row in a year. If that's accurate... W O W. That's nuts, guys.) BUT... I've not seen commit to that's it. DONE.
Which is why my only speculation I'm really trying to present here at all is that I believe there might be some limbo going on... or least there has been. It might well be past tense at this point. There's just so many strange signals around. lol But generally towards the end of a show you see a huge loss of motivation, but we’ve been only seeing more build UP about it.
Ultimately, we’ll have to see what happens. TAGHQ is being SO specific that it is the ‘conclusion of season 3′ and well, I just posted on my main about ‘The Final Countdown’. (But if someone reading this didn’t see that... go google: final countdown europe lyrics  XD I’m 99.9% sure it’s gonna be a reference to in-show happenings... not the show’s future. XD)
SO YEAH. These have been my observations. (OH and if anyone wants sources to what I've referenced, I'll be happy to provide. :|b )

The fact that I completely missed the series finale of The Big Bang Theory proves how fleeting obsessions can be. Before I joined Tumblr, the vast wasteland that impedes your enjoyment of stupid comedy, for the sake of being woke, The Big Bang Theory was my TV obsession. (Actually, I ditched TBBT because I discovered One Direction, but that’s another story.)
The point is, about six years ago, I discovered the show on TV, via reruns and fell in love with it. Not long after had a Twitter account dedicated to TBBT, I frequented the fan discussions sites. I stayed on top of spoilers; I speculated about the dating lives of the main characters. I was in a private group chat for people who shipped Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik. I made a lot of friends within the fandom. I also tried, and hilariously failed, to write fanfiction for them.
Six years ago, the show was just finishing the seventh season. The actors kept talking about how they thought that ten seasons would mark the end of the show. I was CRUSHED, and I still had three more years to enjoy new episodes and cast interviews. And, though its embarrassing to admit, I cried thinking about the show ending.
Because TBBT was so much more than just a show for me. It was an escape from real life. It provided a safe, online community for me to express my interests and have fun. At the time, I thought that nothing would ever make me feel like The Big Bang Theory Did.
But then I found One Direction and became just enamored by them. Soon, my attention was on them. And those three remaining seasons (which actually turned into five) of TBBT I ached about, became something I watched sparingly. Actually, only one of them. I actually haven’t seen any episodes past season eight or nine, out side of Sheldon and Amy’s wedding. Not even their series finale.
You couldn’t have PAID me to believe that I wouldn’t have watched the series finale live with a box of tissue in one hand, and my phone, opened to Twitter, in the next. But that’s just proof of how things can change.
So when I find myself getting sad about The Flash ending one day (which is totally shuold) and, more importantly, this version of Westallen ceasing to exist as a couple, I remember that there was a time I never thought I’d find “my show” again. But I did in The Flash. I’m just as invested, probably a little too much so, in these characters as I was in TBBT’s. And yeah, I’ve teared up thinking about when it would end.
Long story short, there will always be more shows, more fandoms, more communities. More happiness. And perhaps this is way too sentimental for fictional characters, but I honestly don’t care. Life is hard and depressing sometimes. Entertainment provides a wonderful escape.
And though I’m sad that TBBT has ended. Realizing that it wasn’t even a blip on my radar reminds me that there will always be more.

The #ShadowhuntersLegacy Theory--aka our Hail Mary throw #SaveShadowhunters
UPDATED as of 8/24/18 (see bottom of post)
I wasn’t sure if I had shared this theory on Tumblr or not, because sometimes I speculate on Twitter and then don’t remember to make a post over here. It turns out, I sort of did, a really long time ago, but the theory has evolved in light of a number of events in the past couple weeks, and most of the tinfoil-hat elements have been stripped out. Now it’s just sort of a Theory, as opposed to a Wacky Conspiracy Theory.
Before I begin, let me just say outright that this is not to give anyone false hope. Let’s be quite honest and admit that our chances don’t really look that great. But as I said in my post last night, there are reasons why I can’t bring myself to call a Time of Death on this whole thing yet. And this theory is a big part of it.
Let me also add a disclaimer that none of us knows what is happening behind the scenes. We don’t know the legal ins and outs that make up the Freeform/Constantin/Netflix Ménage à Torture so this is all just guesswork based on the pieces we have and a metric fuckton lot of supposition.
This could all totally be self-serving delusion. I’m not going to lie about that. But it’s already been put out there, so I’m going to stand by it until we see how this all shakes down in the end, if for no other reason than, on the off chance that some variation of this does end up happening, I have documented proof that I predicted it might.
Everyone okay with that? Then let’s go!
Where We Stand
Okay, look, we’ve been told, straight-up with no equivocation, that “it's not possible for this version of SHADOWHUNTERS to continue.” (Source: Constantin Press Release August 10) We have to accept that at face value. There is almost certainly not going to be a season 4. Something is in the way of that happening.
I don’t believe it’s lack of interest from potential buyers. I think it’s an unwillingness to reach a compromise on the part of the parties already involved so that someone else can pick up the show.
Tumblr media
Chances are good that the obstacle is @freeform/Disney. The show was developed specifically for Freeform as part of ABC Family Channel rebranding itself. Netflix got involved later to snag the international distribution deal, yes, but it’s possible that the show goes nowhere unless Freeform/Disney is willing to relinquish their distribution deal on it, which they may not be willing to do.
Why? Well, there’s always my DisFlix theory, which is a little out of date in light of recent developments but not yet dead in the water.
But @netflix could also be to blame. I’ve heard rumblings, and I have no idea where they originated or if they’re true or not, that Netflix’s international distribution deal gives them rights to the show for seven years. They may not be willing to give that up, and picking the show up for season 4 without being able to stream/rerun seasons 1-3 is really not going to appeal to any potential takers.
It’s also possible that @constantinfilm isn’t willing to lower the license fee on the show enough to make someone else willing to pick it up, but I honestly don’t believe that’s the case. 100% of nothing is nothing, so keeping the price jacked up beyond what anyone is willing to pay makes Constantin no profit. I see no motive for them to prove intractable in that regard, especially if they thought they could bundle a pickup of Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments with development of a series based on The Infernal Devices and make even more money.
But, really, that is all sort of outside the scope of this post. Ultimately all we know is that something is standing in the way of the show being picked up by anyone who may be interested for season 4.
Which isn’t the same thing as saying all hope is lost. It’s just lost for “this version of SHADOWHUNTERS.”
Yeah, uh, What Other Version Is There?
We’re presently campaigning for Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. But The Mortal Instruments is ending. And by that, I mean the six-book well of source material the plot has been borrowing its vague overall direction from is coming to an end. The 2-hour movie (which originally should have been the entire fourth season, but oh well, we can’t really dwell on that) is supposed to cover the final book, and after that it would be entirely original plots.
In other words, after season 4, we wouldn’t have had Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments ANYWAY. It would have effectively been a spin-off featuring the same characters, even if the title of the show had remained the same.
And I think most of us were perfectly okay with that, or would have been had we stopped to think about What Comes Next after the book-based material ended. @janoda has been talking for months about wanting a spin-off centered around the Downworld. I’ve thought all along that the tense relations that the Downworld and the New York Institute have with the Clave in Alicante would provide a wealth of plot material once book-based material ran out. @janoda and I have been calling this hypothetical spin-off “Downworld: Revolution” but whatever you call it, it’s not “this version of SHADOWHUNTERS.” It’s a new version, featuring many/most of the same characters.
But That Was Just Talk Right?
Well, yes. Sort of. At first I thought (in my original Conspiracy Theory post) that what we might be seeing with this cancellation is a slightly more contentious scenario originating with Freeform’s recent strategy of ending shows after 3-4 seasons or so, and then spinning them off before they lose their audience through attrition, to keep them fresh and shiny. (see also: PLL and The Fosters.)
Then, once it seemed like it might be Freeform’s claim to Shadowhunters distribution rights that was preventing anyone else from picking the show up, I started side-eyeing the notion of a spin-off as a way of working AROUND Freeform. Because Constantin still owns the adaptation rights. Even if Constantin can’t continue making Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, they CAN make a new show, even one featuring the Shadowhunters characters and even with those characters played by the same actors. They just can’t continue making THIS VERSION of the show.
Which, again, is okay, because effectively this version of the show was going to come to an end anyway, and a new show was going to begin.
But I sort of pushed this notion of a spin-off to the back of my mind once all the talk about Constantin developing The Infernal Devices began. Because honestly I didn’t want to muddy the waters with the words “spin off” when we were trying to send such a definite, iron-clad message that The Infernal Devices was not an acceptable substitute for Shadowhunters. I did start trying to word my emails with terms like “our characters” and “our actors” while leaving those concepts open to the possibility of those characters and actors being in a new show.
(Now, however, in light of Constantin’s statement that hope is lost for “this version” of Shadowhunters, we have nothing to lose.)
And then, two weeks ago, something happened.
Starting the night before the Last Day on Set (August 2nd), the cast introduced a new hashtag--#ShadowhuntersLegacy. It never really caught on or trended, but Kat and Emeraude in particular were pretty aggressive about using it. Most of the main cast, with the exception of Isaiah, Matt, and I think Alisha, used it at least once, and I know Jade, Nicola, and some of the other supporting cast members did as well.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It struck me as a little strange. And, yes, it may very well be just a nice way to thank the fans by reassuring us that the ways in which we’ve touched their lives won’t be forgotten. But what was pinging me about it was the way it was adopted among the cast had clearly been coordinated. This wasn’t just happenstance that they all began using it at once.
And the word “legacy” implies continuation. A legacy is sort of the opposite of something ending. It’s something that carries on.
I bit my tongue about this for a few hours, and then when I was talking about it in DMs on Twitter to avoid tweeting publicly about it, @saadiestuff pointed out something I had known in the back of my head but hadn’t actually connected.
The Originals is getting a spin-off called Legacies.
(A spin-off that--I believe--will be bringing back a lot of the original characters even going back to The Vampire Diaries.)
So those messages and a bunch of tweets using the hashtag were trickling in from Thursday night onward. Then, on Saturday morning, Kat posted this:
Tumblr media
I mean...look at those last few lines? “The story doesn’t end here” and that parting shot, complete with a picture of her with her hand on a door?
But the cast doesn’t know anything about negotiations, right? Usually that’s true. However...
IF a hypothetical spin-off were being discussed, obviously the cast wouldn’t be part of the negotiations. But one of the first things those discussions would entail is inquiring (probably through their agents) about the casts’ interest and availability to return for the new series.
So the usual wisdom about the cast not knowing anything until shortly before we do doesn’t apply here. They would almost certainly know this was at least being discussed as a possibility, even if they didn’t know whether or not it would end up being a done deal.
There is also the live that Jade did a day or two before filming wrapped. I didn’t get to watch the whole thing because I lost my place when I was about 20 minutes in, so all I knew was that people got upset by some of the things he said which they felt indicated he didn’t feel there was any hope. @TheJessy34 on Twitter found it for me, and starting about 29:45, Jade talks about how the show in “this form” is over and how things can happen, yes, but he didn’t think if it continued it would continue in the way it has. (BEWARE OF POTENTIAL BOOK-BASED SPOILERS AT AROUND 33:00)
youtube
I’m tempted to include this tweet of Harry’s (the Monday after filming wrapped) for consideration as evidence of this possibility. Because Harry is the guy who likes to dole out clues for us to piece together (see also, 2x12 and the season 3 renewal livechat.)
Tumblr media
However it would be dishonest of me to do so without also including the fact that he denied this tweet had anything to do with anything:
Tumblr media
That said, boy, Kat sure was all over it, both on Instagram and Twitter:
Tumblr media
And it should be noted that Kat is STILL occasionally using the #ShadowhuntersLegacy hashtag. As is Jade, I believe.
I’m also tempted to offer into evidence this article from TVLine earlier this week:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
However, I think the evidence supporting that is sketchy at best. All the medical puns point to a medical drama, and the cast is obviously not reassembling yet (though that verbiage could be figurative, as in “they’re signing the contracts” rather than literal, as in “they’re gathering to begin filming.) Public opinion seems to hold that the show in question is likely CBS’s Code Black and I have no concrete reason to assert otherwise.
I will say that in the event of a hypothetical spin-off, there would be some new cast involved (which could explain the “returning and new cast” line.) The book the 2-hour movie is based on, City of Heavenly Fire, has a fairly high body count. Chances are good that at least some of our fave supporting characters won’t be returning.
So. The TVLine article could be about us, but I’m not holding my breath.
UPDATED 8/24/18:
So it looks like the TVLine blind item may not be about Code Black after all.
Others, not me, did some sleuthing.
Tumblr media
This tweet from Seitzman is dated 8/22/18. The TVLine blind item was posted 8/13/18. I would say (and others have said) this could mean that whatever deal TVLine was referring was Code Black but then it fell through, except that tonight, TVLine assured us that once the show in question is revealed, the initial article would be marked as UPDATED.
Tumblr media
That has not happened with the TVLine article. If it had been about Code Black and the deal fell through, TVLine would have updated. Therefore, it’s looking fairly sure that TVLine isn’t referring to Code Black.
Which still doesn’t mean it’s referring to us. Let’s be very clear about that. There have been a lot of shows cancelled in the last six months. One other show that has been rumored to be on the verge of rescue is Designated Survivor, I believe (back in May or so, there was talk that Netflix might pick it up.)
All this means is that we’re a little more solidly in the running with regards to our chances that TVLine was, in fact, referring to us. That’s it. It’s not much, but it’s something.
I have reached out to TVLine to request that if it ISN’T us, they let us know. Because I really want us to be as realistic about our chances here as possible. As I said at the beginning of this post, this is a Hail Mary throw. Our chances are microscopically slim. But they do still exist.
(End UPDATED portion)
Which brings me to Isaiah’s post on Instagram yesterday:
Tumblr media
Again, right now we are looking at the one situation where the cast probably really would have an early clue of what is going on. Before any deal is inked, someone would have to go around and ask the cast (again, probably through their agents) “this is a possibility, if we can make it happen, are you in?” And if it was a done deal, the cast would DEFINITELY know, even if they weren’t at liberty to say anything yet. They would have already signed their contracts.
Isaiah doesn’t believe hope is lost. I have to believe he has a reason for thinking that. But we know “this version” of the show isn’t coming back. Where does that leave us?
A new version of the show, featuring most or all of our characters and cast.
So What Now?
Now, we wait. We maintain our presence. We hope. I meant what I said last night, at this stage there is nothing we can do to influence the outcome that we haven’t already done. We keep the hashtag alive. We keep emailing and sending postcards and letters and maybe the occasional gift, just to remind them we’re here.
But mostly we wait. And we find our joy in the show again. Because in the words of a certain warlock we all know and love, “if you don’t take time for the things you care about, you’ll forget why you’re even fighting at all.”
But Do We Know Who Will Be Carrying This Hypothetical Spin-Off So We Can Let Them Know We’re Interested?
Nope. Not a clue. Sorry. Unfortunately this means we should probably treat everyone as though we’re courting them. Even *gack* Freeform.
When Do You Think They’ll Announce It, If It’s Happening?
Well, *if* the TVLine blind article is about us (and again, I cannot emphasize strongly enough that I really have no reason to believe it is) it says filming could begin as early as this fall. Which means we’d have to have an announcement by then because no way is our cast--with so many social media junkies in their ranks--is going to keep that under wraps for long. So we’d know by then.
And maybe I’m being whimsical, but let’s look at Isaiah’s post from yesterday again:
Tumblr media
See where they are?
That’s the Jade Wolf mock-up that was featured at New York ComicCon last year.
Why would Isaiah use that picture, of any of the cast that he could have used, to send us the message “don’t give up”?
I think if this thing is going to happen, we may hear it announced at NYCC.
EDIT: 8/24/18
There has been some interesting activity that has sort of slipped under the radar this week, but I’ve been watching and noting. I haven’t been making a big deal about it, because I don’t want to give people false hope, but I’ve already shared this theory so it really can’t hurt to keep it up to date. Just remember that all of this is really the stretchiest reaching of all stretchy reaching. It’s flimsy and probably entirely in my imagination.
On August 13, after the Teen Choice Awards victory, Bryan Q. Miller tweeted this:
Tumblr media
I didn’t notice it until about a week later, when I noticed that Todd Slavkin had liked it. When queried, Bryan confirmed that the reference was exactly what I thought it was:
Tumblr media
So...something about the TCA victory triggered thoughts of the lyric, “I can feel it coming in the air tonight.” It had him feeling either anticipation (or possibly foreboding, and possibly of someone who had done something wrong getting a come-uppance.)
Then there’s this:
Tumblr media
On Monday, August 20, Matt Hastings used the tag #ShadowhuntersLives.
On Thursday the 23rd, he was unusually active and pretty much ALL about the show, except for one tweet:
Tumblr media
Why spend the morning making Shadowhunters tweets, drop in a single mention of The Originals, then go back to making more SH tweets?
Obviously Paul Wesley has a Shadowhunters connection (didn’t he direct an episode ;-P ?) but if he was just wanting to share memories of Paul Wesley and Shadowhunters, there was plenty of material to choose from.
Again, I have to reiterate that this is flimsy, because Matt doesn’t really need a reason to delve into nostalgia for ALL the shows he’s been involved with. It may not go any deeper than that.
But he wasn’t being nostalgic about ALL his shows. He was being nostalgic about THIS one.
So it immediately made me think of the connection @saadiestuff made when I was talking about the #ShadowhuntersLegacy tag, which is that it could be that Shadowhunters is getting a spin-off featuring the same characters, the way The Originals is getting the Legacies spin-off.
Because, as @malecficlibrary just said to me, #ShadowhuntersLives is a REALLY strange hashtag to use for for a cancelled show that has no hope. Like...?
Maybe Matt Hastings didn’t know about the #ShadowhuntersLegacy hashtag on Monday, so he used #ShadowhuntersLives. Then someone clued him in, so he dropped a The Originals/Legacies hint.
Like I said, flimsy, but I’m putting it out there anyway. Because why not?

sleep.
Tumblr media
summary: #bittercoffee. bucky can’t sleep. the nightmares are back. word count: 2.3k, you’re welcome rating: eh, nothing too steamy a/n: i had a dream i snuggled the fuck! outta bucky, so here u go.
Over the last week and a half, Bucky has become more of a constant in your life than you even imagined possible.
He’d come in for his coffee, watch you and Matt (but mostly you; he was keeping a running tally on how many ways you wore your hair) chatter on about whatever was on the television, and he’d wave goodbye. You, of course, on your way out the door, would send him a text on that stupid flip phone he has. He’s not good at texting - not at all, but you liked to think he was trying for your sake.
(Granted, his texts were small things like ‘have a good day’ or ‘be safe’ or ‘see u later’.)
Things had started to change. Slowly, but you could feel yourself getting to the dangerous point of pining over the dark haired man. It seemed like everything he did punched you right in the chest - from those stupid, bashful smiles to the way he’d wrinkle his nose when he saw his own image on the news. Bucky was, in a lot of ways, a very attractive guy - sharp jaw, high cheekbones, baby blues... Sweet, modest, humble. Kind. Polite.
“The real question remains: who is the Winter Soldier?”
A deadly killing machine with a background you were scared to ask about. The metal arm, the training. All of it.
You could see the clear anxiety in his eyes when he caught you staring one night - he’d knocked on your window in costume, and you’d smiled so big at the way he looked leaning against the fire escape. You laughed a little, slipping out of bed and padding to the window - you hauled it open, leaning your upper half out into the February cold.
His mask drowned out his words, but you could hear the softness in his voice.
“I was doing rounds, thought I would say good night.”
Bucky swears he’s becoming dependent on your smile. Seeing your grin, seeing your cheeks go rosy as you glow with warmth. He thinks it’s the best thing he’s ever seen. It makes all the mess in his head go away, it makes the screams and he fear go silent. For a few moments, it’s bliss.
He realized, on that fire escape, he was starting to harbor feelings for you.
Bucky has never been so terrified in his life.
“Could it be he’s a military experiment gone wrong?”
You groan, shutting off the television as a segment rerun speculating the Winter Solider’s identity flashed across the screen. It was like he was everywhere, in the shop, on your phone, in your head, on the TV.
You turn back to the Biostatistic notes splayed across your bed, fingers fiddling with a ballpoint pen. Time to focus. Homework. Not Bucky.
But, in the last few days, you’d noticed a shift in his behavior. He was slower than usual, the bags under his eyes substantially darker. He would order a large coffee, too. And he would sit. And he would stare into space. You’d putter over on a break, gently lay a hand on his shoulder — and he’s jump about six feet in the air, eyes wide with fear. It would ebb away after realization dawned on him that it was you, he was in the shop.
It worried you. And you thought about it a lot.
You move towards the phone on your nightstand, unplugging it from its charger and sighing softly as you sift through the four or five notifications on the lock screen.
Someone favorited something on your Twitter, a new CNN headline, a new Instagram follower...
Bucky Barnes, twenty minutes ago. A text.
Two words, and they slip from your lips like a whisper.
“Need you.”
Three loud knocks rattle your window pain and you jump, eyes wide as you spot the figure on the other side. No mask, no glowing gunmetal arm. A hoodie, a ball cap. It’s the man in question - of course it is.
He looks... out of it.
You pry open the window, brows knotted in worry as Bucky shifts on his feet. His adam apple bobs as he swallows, hands jammed into his pockets. You can see the tired look in his eyes. It hurts.
“Are you okay?”
Buck’s nose wrinkles. His brows twitch.
He shakes his head.
Your chest aches.
“Come on, Buck,” you mumble, “It’s cold out. Get in here.”
He slips through the window and you close it, locking the frame and drawing the shades. You note the way his eyes dance across the string lights illuminating the head of your bed - in the warm yellow glow, Bucky looks worse for wear.
You pad beside him, a gentle hand touching his elbow.
He visibly flinches. And you retract, guilt hammer on in your chest.
“... Buck,” you whisper, calling his head around and he blinks down to you, “What’s wrong?”
You watch his brows weave together, his mouth part slightly like he’s about to speak - the gears are turning, he’s trying to word it, to put it together. So you let him. You wait, tucking your hair behind your ear.
“I... I’m afraid to sleep.”
It’s barely a whisper; his head ducks, eyes hitting the floor. You frown and feel your face soften. Bucky side steps, hands flying from his pockets and dropping his baseball cap onto your desk. His fusses with his hair. He starts to pace.
You’re watching him fall apart. And you don’t know what to do.
“I’ve been having these nightmares. They’re bad, a-and you’re in them and I kill you and I can’t have one more of them or I think I’ll go fucking insane. They... They feel so real and I can’t - I shouldn’t be here because if I hurt you —“
You plant yourself in front of him, hands on his waist.
“Breathe.”
You watch his nostrils flare, you watch him shake and you watch his eyes go dangerously glassy. He does as he’s told, inhaling and exhaling with his eyes on the floor.
“Stay here tonight.”
“No.”
It’s automatic, a reflex. He continues. “I can’t... If I hurt you...”
“You won’t hurt me, Bucky.”
“You don’t know that!”
You recoil slightly, the volume of his voice startling you. You’re thankful Marissa is out with her other half. Bucky’s face immediately flood with guilt, blue eyes wide with conflict.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t... I shouldn’t yell, I’m just so...” he grits his teeth, “I’m so tired. And angry. And... And I just want to sleep.”
“Cranky,” you offer, hand venturing to find his metal one. Your face is soft. Bucky feels his chest tighten - out of panic and out of affection, “You aren’t going to hurt me. Because I trust you. You’re one of the kindest people I’ve ever met, and...”
And you think you’re in love with him.
He’s in love with you; you solidify it with every word.
His fingers are cold against yours, but you don’t mind. You fiddle with them, splaying the digits and admiring how they flex. The plating is some foreign metal; someone put a lot of work, a lot of research, into this price of biomedical tech.
“I don’t know anything about you,” you say softly, “Who you are or what happened to you — and I’m not asking for answers. When you’re ready, I know you’ll tell me, but nothing’s going to change the way I already feel.”
You watch Bucky’s chest rise and fall. He wants to kiss you.
“Stay here. Get some sleep,” you offer again, stepping closer and holding his left hand gently between your fingers, “I’ll stay here. I’ll make sure no nightmares happen.”
He’s quiet, considering the overwhelming fear of hurting you, considering staying with the one person who seems to quiet it all down in his head. Bucky’s eyes fleet across your face and you smile, soft and tight lipped and he knows he’s not leaving your apartment until the next morning.
“The floor?”
“No,” you nearly shout, eyes wide as you tug on his hand, “No, you’re not sleeping on the floor. Bed. And I’ll...”
You flounder a little, wishing completely that you could curl up beside him.
“Couch. I’ll stay on the couch.”
Bucky’s eyes seem to fill up with that nervous anxiety and you back track. Wrong answer. You blink.
“Okay, no couch... I’ll...”
“Just...” he croaks, “With me. Please.”
You freeze a little, watching how his eyes screw shut. He speaks quietly. His voice cracks.
“You’re the only thing that makes the bad things in my head go away.”
“God, Buck,” you mumble, moving close to wrap your arms around his shoulders and tug him into a tight embrace. He melts against you, curling around your frame and pressing his face into the bare juncture between you neck and shoulder. His five o’ clock shadow tickles. Your fingers rubs his back, carding through his hair quickly as you frown. Pulling back, you plant your hands on the sides of his face. “You want some tea? It’s... It’s sleepy time tea. When I can’t sleep, it helps.”
A soft nod. You mimic the motion.
“Okay,” a whisper, “Let me go make some. And... And I’ll get you some shorts, if you want. Marissa’s partner leaves a few outfits over here...”
“I... I can just...” he motions to his jeans, “It’s okay.”
You double back, leaning into the doorway. Your voice is light with humor.
“If you’re trying to sleep in jeans, Bucky, that’s why you haven’t been able to. That’s a real nightmare.”
He smiles, following you like a lost puppy.
Your apartment is small, modest, with a small living area and a kitchenette and a hallway leading to your room mate’s room on the opposite side. It reminds Bucky of somewhere he’s been before - maybe it’s the size. Maybe it’s the aged wallpaper. He’s not sure.
The floorboards creak under his steel toed work boots.
You’re smaller than him, lighter, and your bare feet pad along into the kitchen - he watches you ready a mug of hot water from the red machine on the counter. Stark has one. It spits out coffee that taste mostly like water to him.
It hums, warming the water, and you sip past him and down the hall into Marissa’s room - returning quickly with a pair of athletic shorts and an oversized Brooklyn Bakers t-shirt. It’s blue. You’re not entirely convinced it will fit him.
Bucky wanders along, following you to the counter as you grab a mug off the highest shelf - he notes how you stretch, how your t-shirt rides up along your legs and reveals another pair of lace bottoms. These ones are different from the night he crawled through the window bloodied and bruised. Those were blue.
He likes you in pink.
The mug is in his hands before he realizes it, and you’re ushering him back to bed - back to your room where you close the door quietly and begin to clear your notes off the comforter. They find a spot beside his hat on your desk.
Bucky changes quickly, back turned as he hauls his hoodie and his long sleeve off.
You catch a glimpse of the way his arm is hardwired to his torso. The scar tissue is bad there, and along the expanse of his back, he has various marks and scars. Long ones, ragged ones. Entry wounds, exit wounds.
You try not to stare.
Thank god the shorts fit, and the shirt too, but it’s small - his waist looks even smaller in it, shoulders bulky with muscle. Bucky is, in every way, a sight for sore eyes. And he catches you trying not to stare.
“It doesn’t scare you?”
You blink.
“Your arm?”
He nods.
“I’m a biomedical student, Bucky. That kind of thing... That’s a marvel of biomedical technology. Whoever created that... They were very smart,” you ramble, moving the decorative pillows aside as Bucky sips the tea, “But, I wasn’t staring at your arm.”
“You weren’t.”
Not a question. He knows. Your cheeks go rosy. He likes it.
The clock beside your bed blares an angry 12:31AM.
“You have work in the morning.”
“I’ll call out,” you say, watching Bucky clamber under the sheets, “If that will help you sleep.”
His face goes soft. He metal hand reaches out, patting the spot beside him. You smile. You shut the lights off. The room is only in darkness. Bucky feels his chest tighten when you curl up beside him, knees brushing slightly as you wiggle under the covers. He likes watching you.
You both slip into silence, watching each other intently for a few beats of time. Bucky moves first. He lifts the covers and offers for you to come closer - and you do. His hand finds the curve of your waist as you lean into his chest - your leg hitched up and drapes lazily across his thigh. Your fingers fleet across his chest, knitting into the fabric of his t-shirt. You’re warm and lovely. It’s intimate. Bucky swears it’s heaven.
Your nose is pressed into his neck, and soon he’s starting focus on mimicking your breathing; slow and even and for the first time in days, things are quiet. He’s on the verge, tipping into sleep. You reach, movements heavy and slow, and knot your fingers with his metal ones. Bucky inhales, nosing a kiss into the crown of your hair. You smile. He feels it.
“Thank you.”
“Anytime, Buck.”

There has been some speculation recently that Big City Greens would be a Disney Channel original series instead of being a Disney XD exclusive, and now co-creator Chris Houghton has confirmed on Twitter that the new series will be on the former, and it premieres this summer! As of late, outside of the Disney Junior block Disney Channel is increasing the TV animation offerings on their schedules after relying heavily on its live action sitcoms. Last year, they debuted Tangled: The Series and acquired the rights to air the Canadian series Hotel Transylvania: The Series and The Zhu Zhus. DC has brought back Gravity Falls to the channel for reruns and even promoted it, Star vs. the Forces of Evil is returning to the channel next season, and next year will be the debut of two original series Amphibia and The Owl House.  However, the status of whether DuckTales, Milo Murphy’s Law or Big Hero 6: The Series would stay on DXD is unknown amidst rumors that Disney might shut down the channel -- fans of those series haven’t seen new episodes for months while new episodes of Star vs. get continuously scheduled.
Honestly, I’m glad that Big City Greens will premiere with a much larger audience on Disney Channel instead of Disney XD. I think it would have less chances of being screwed by the network, something that happened to The 7D, which it had ties to the new series. Going back to animation being on Disney Channel again, had The 7D been on the channel instead of DXD, it might last longer. It had a large viewership by the network’s standards, but not quite the following like Star vs. or Gravity Falls that DXD seemingly prefers. Despite all of that, The 7D was a part of a wave of then-new or recurring animated series moving from DC or Disney Junior to DXD as well as new series ordered by DXD, and a lot them ended up being unsuccessful or neglected.
With these recent developments, I continue to stand by my belief that The 7D didn’t belong on DXD despite having some successes. It quite wasn’t a good fit with the tone of programming on the network. Hopefully, with Big City Greens on Disney Channel it would be popular, and I don’t want it to be another abrupt cancellation like The 7D.

Keroro fandom get ready to put on your speculation goggles (and maybe pee yourselves)
Sorry I just kinda disappeared for a few days, I am constantly tired and forget to update here. Anyway to make up for it how about some exciting news I'm surprised nobody's reported on yet?
@keroro_PR on Twitter is the official Keroro Gunso social media account based in Kadokawa's HQ in Tokyo. It tweets mostly about Keroro of course, but also about Kemono Friends, Gundam, and other assorted things Kadokawa is affiliated with. Last month, it tweeted this:
Tumblr media
"It's Kirby's 25th anniversary, huh....Keroro's 20th anniversary is next year. (This is very important so we're mentioning it many times)"
Technically, KG has TWO anniversaries depending on how you look at it. Yoshizaki's original one-shot pilot manga was released in 1998, while the first volume of the KG manga as we know it today was released in 1999. It looks like they've officially decided to commemorate the release of the pilot manga as the true anniversary.
But that's not all I have for you, oh no. Here's an exchange between the PR account and another user in response to the above tweet:
Tumblr media
"Do you have anything planned for the anniversary?"
"It's a secret~"
Now obviously they're gonna do SOMETHING; the last major anniversary was the 15th in 2013 and that's when they announced the Flash reboot. The question is what. Quite a few Japanese fans are speculating something to do with the anime—many think it's gonna be some kind of reboot/revival (8th season?) while I've seen a couple other suggestions such as the original anime getting ported to Blu-Ray.
I think if they're gonna do anything regarding anime, it's gonna be either related to the 2004 anime or a new series entirely. Though I think it'd be weird to have season 8 after a 7 year gap (the length of the entire show's running time!), so I think something like a new anime that takes place in the same universe as the original anime or picks up where it left off would make sense. I highly doubt they're going to return to the Flash anime or even do something similar; it seems to me like that didn't go quite as well as they wanted it to the first time, considering it ran for a big 6 months and dropped off on a cliffhanger. That doesn't mean we're never gonna see Shin Keroro and pals animated again—I have a gut feeling they'd just work the 2011 and on manga stuff into the original animeverse somehow. I can't see much notable non-anime stuff happening; the manga's still gonna run like normal anyway. I betcha there'll be something regarding Kemono Friends, though.
As for my personal wishes? Although I don't think an original anime revival is 100% realistic, but considering how long it's been since 2011 and the amount of fan clamor there's been, it's probably possible. If they don't go that route, I'd really like to see them release that 6th movie publicly so it gets to be seen by more than like 1,000 people. It's old now, but I'm sad that it's been lost to the vault for quite some time. I think the expectation that's actually most likely to happen is a crossover with Yo-kai Watch Puni Puni; Keroro mobile crossovers have been frequent, that game RAKES in money, and Keroro and Jibanyan have already been in a game together (the tennis one). Plus, Puni Puni has done manga/anime collabs before ("Shonen Sunday round 2" is happening as I type this!), so it's nothing mind-blowing. Although some things are definitely more realistic than others, nothing is impossible—even though Keroro's pretty much dead here in North America (apparently the manga is still going in Europe), the series has been quite active and popular in Japan long after episode 358. It's sort of ingrained into Japan's pop culture at this point, like Doraemon or Anpanman except those two haven't been airing 7 straight years of reruns. You know what I mean though.
Sorry for shitting out a massive text wall once again, just thought this was really worth talking about. What are your hopes/expectations? Are you full-on hyped, cautiously optimistic, or not expecting much? Please talk to me I'm lonel

Looks Bad' — Bitcoin Futures Echo Days Before March Crash, Says Trader #Bitcoin (BTC) futures were worrying analysts on July 10 as volume data suggested serious weakness and the potential for a major pullback. Uploading a weekly chart of CME Group’s Bitcoin futures to Twitter, Cointelegraph Markets analyst filbfilb did not mince his words describing the current climate. Filbfilb: BTC futures “almost identical” to March “Looks bad,” he summarized, noting that a volume indicator had returned to an identical setup as the week before Bitcoin crashed to $3,600 in March. “Almost identical positioning as the big drop last time and a clear descending triangle full of wicks at resistance, trading below (point of control).” Specifically, commitments of traders (COT) — both retail and institutional — had maneuvered to exactly the same place that it was in just days prior to the crash. COT is updated on Fridays using data from the previous Tuesday; as such, the metric gives a snapshot of the status quo several days previously. “I doubt it has changed much,” filbfilb told Cointelegraph in private comments. COVID-19 dump to be avoided Bitcoin has seen mixed price action this week as moves towards $9,500 were dictated by stock markets. A drop late Thursday took #BTC/USD back to $9,000 support. Asked whether traders should expect an exact rerun of March, however, filbfilb remained more optimistic. “I don't think there will be a dump anything like last time,” he wrote. “However; the positioning of the big players began 8.5-10.5k last time & that was before the climate took a nose bleed- these guys are short here on technicals rather than the external risk (in my opinion).” Bitcoin derivatives have sparked differing narratives in recent weeks. In late June, a $1 billion open interest expiry event initially fuelled speculation of a price drop, but ultimately had no discernable impact on the market. Other Bitcoin network fundamentals remain strong, with hash rate reaching all-time average highs this week and difficulty set for a 9% upward adjustment in two days’ time. ⏬Recommended miner⏬ WhatsApp:+15614629097 Email:[email protected] (at Hong Kong) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCkJchXjEOr/?igshid=abbnirxgftrs

So idk how familiar you are with other fandoms but Adventure Time kinda danced around two characters being gay and on the very last episode they kissed and confirmed the ship. So, some other antis have been speculating that Dean and Cas might kiss on the last episode on Supernatural. Jensen and Misha both obviously need new jobs and one way to get exposure is to have your name trending on Twitter. And destiel kissing would trend if it happened. What do you think?
Jensen and Misha may need new jobs but WB/CW does not want to endanger the show’s lucrative syndication value by killing the replay value for loyal fans who would feel it tainted the entire show and go on a revolt bender and turn off potential new fans from the show.
How I Met Your Mother is still a great show with many outstandng stand alone episodes, but the series finale got universally eviscerated because it looked as if the creators were telling a completely different story from the one they seemed to be telling for the past 8 seasons.  So while the finale didn’t ruin th show, it definately plays more strangely in syndicated reruns.  For Dean and Cas to kiss in the last episode would be telling a completely different story from the one being told for the past 15 seasons and WB/CW would have effectively killed the golden goose.
Also, never heard of Adventure TIme.

Goodbye, Teen Wolf (MTV)
Wow. In about one hour, I would be tuning in to the final episode (also the 100th episode) of MTV’s Original Series: Teen Wolf (2011).
I just wanted to take some time to write my feelings, because you all know I have a lot of them. Let’s flash back to 2011, when I was still in college and had no idea what I was doing.
I remember I was nearing the end of my 2nd year of architecture school, some time in May probably, and I was bored out of my mind. I had never given my attention to American television, other than the occasion Simpsons episodes, but I was gifted an iTunes gift card that year (I’m not sure what for) I saw that card lying on my computer desk, so I thought ‘why not redeem it?’ I’ve only used iTunes to listen to my songs and to import them into my iPod. Yes, I had an iPod back then. I scrolled through the iTunes TV Shows list because I thought it’d be more worth it to splurge on TV shows rather than on music. I purchased about two Glee episodes and then stumbled across something that I didn’t know would change my life. Under the “free episodes” list was Teen Wolf’s pilot episode. MTV had put it up a few weeks in advance as a marketing tactic to get bored teens (like I was) to be swept into their whirlwind of emotional storylines. The pilot, Wolf Moon, was done very well. It was also my first American TV show experience so I had nothing to compare to but nonetheless, it kept me interested. I was and I am still very interested in wolves, dogs, canines, and many other animals. That helped get me interested in the show too, I guess.
When the show finally aired during the summer, I remember how excited I was because Twitter was beginning to take flight and I found myself in a large community of mythology nerds and beast geeks. It was so cool. Everyone was watching the episodes in real-time and was breaking down the show into theories, speculations, and recaps.
That summer, I was visiting a family friend whom I had grown up with. He lived in Staten Island so I traveled over and stayed a few nights. It was a bit of a struggle because the sleepover was on a Monday night and that’s when Teen Wolf would air. That night, episode 6 was airing. I thought that I would have to miss it and watch the rerun when I get home. My aunt, however, changed the channel to MTV for some reason and there it was, the title sequence. I asked if we can keep the TV on this channel for this show; my friend and I watched the episode. Like all Teen Wolf episodes, this one was great. The show definitely contributed to me remembering what a great summer I had in 2011. Everything was simpler and I felt like a kid again.
Fast forward to tonight - I can’t believe it’s been six years and one hundred episodes of Teen Wolf. And now, it’s going to end. I knew this day was going to come sooner or later but like many things that end, it’s still shocking and makes me feel sad. I feel like I genuinely grew with the characters and cast. Every character was there for a reason and was developed until the writers can no longer push their storyline. I think the most impactful moment was when Alison died. I didn’t understand it at first because, well, SHE WAS THE FEMALE LEAD! Again, this was my first American TV show that I fell in love with, so I never thought that something like this can happen. That is until I saw that scene and watched Vampire Diaries, where they had comatose-d Elena. From that moment on, I knew I must continue to watch the show because clearly the writers have no problem writing a character off. You best bet I was tuning in to each and every episode since. I never missed an episode. And I am proud to say that.
I don’t want to get emotional so I’m going to cut this short. I can’t believe I still remember my first moments with Teen Wolf; and that’s all because of how great the show was. It’s so hard to say goodbye to family and that’s what this show is to me. It’s taken up such a huge and critical area of my heart. I’m going to miss it dearly.
Thanks MTV. Thanks Teen Wolf.
With eternal love and gratitude,
rl

Now that we know we’re getting a full on Dragalia Digest for Christmas, I may as well post the speculation about it I’ve been thinking about recently that I didn’t wanna bother saying since I didn’t think we’d actually get anything more than a single announcement, lol.
Honestly I thought the countdown was just gonna be for announcing the rumored Monster Hunter collab that has basically been all but confirmed now, but thankfully we’re getting a whole Digest, so I assume there’s gonna be a lot more covered. But I don’t think we know how long it’s gonna be, so it might not be as big as the anniversary one.
Either way, aside from them announcing the MH collab event [which will probably come out in February going by the rumors], it seems pretty likely that they’ll talk about the New Years event/banner, log-in bonuses and stuff we might get over the holidays, etc. I’m a little bit nervous about how they’ll handle the New Years event, honestly, since it’d feel really dire if they ran the Ieyasu event for a third time, with how many reruns we’ve gotten recently. I’d prefer a whole new event that actually showcases the new banner units we’ll be getting. I don’t really know how they’d work things out with the event story, but it’d be cool if it was a follow-up to the Ieyasu event that branches out and introduces another one of the wyrmclan leader people. But we’ll see.
I’m still hoping that the new zodiac units will be light element ones but since we just got Christmas Malora and Phoenix I kinda doubt that. I think they’ll probably be wind instead. If so, hopefully they’re freeze res, since wind is in dire need of more freeze res units [not that we need them at the moment].
I really hope they still bring Ieyasu and co back for the new banner since I still don’t have him, but I don’t want a full on rerun of his event, lol.
I do hope that the New Years event is as generous and infinitely grind-able as the Ieyasu event rerun was, though. That was nice.
Other than that, I think they’ll probably go into more detail about the sixth mana circle upgrade stuff, and what Agito Uprising will entail. They said on twitter that the Digest would go over the contents of update 1.15.1, so maybe that’ll just be part of that. I’m really nervous about the Agito stuff and the 6-star weapons in particular, after how badly the HDT weapons went when they were introduced. It’d be a really bad look for them to repeat the same mistake so soon.
Since we’re apparently going to have Nina as the host for this Digest instead of Notte, I’m just gonna throw in the obvious hope that we might get her as a playable character eventually like we did with Ramona. I think she’d probably just be a random banner unit sometime after New Years ends, but they might still announce her in advance here. I have no idea what type of unit she might be, but it’d still be nice to play as her. She looks like she’d be a wind unit, but I really hope they don’t make her a wind healer, lol. We really don’t need another one so soon after Akasha, who already suffered from being a perfectly good healer with absolutely no need to exist in the game’s current meta.
It’ll at least be neat if this is the first time she gets English voice-acting.
Nina hosting this also makes me think they might go over some changes to the shop. It’d make sense if they’re planning some kind of overhaul of what you can get from the shop, since they’re changing the UI for it in the next update. I wouldn’t be too surprised if they want to monetize the game more, so I’m a little worried that they might start adding P2W micro-transaction stuff, but we’ll see. I think it’d make a lot of sense if they started giving out paid, cosmetic skins for weapons and adventurers, though. I’d be down with cosmetic micro-transactions like that. I don’t really care too much about weapon skins in general, but adventurer skins would be cool. Although I really really want to be able to use the rainbow weapon skins from the 5-star summoning animations as weapon skins.
Even though a lot of people would view this as the sort of P2W stuff they shouldn’t add, I honestly hope that they make dream summons a more regular thing, with them happening once every month or two, instead of every three or so months. I really like dream summons as a guaranteed method of getting specific adventurers, and I’m totally happy to spend on them, so getting them more frequently would be a good way of them getting more profit out of the game.
I think they’ll probably announce a dream summon for the anniversary, at least. It’d be nice if it was a special one that included limited units, but we’ll see.
Those are basically my main predictions that I think are actually fairly likely, but on the other hand I still have some more out there pipe dream wishes, like a Switch port. I know a lot of people want a spin-off console RPG thing for the game like Granblue Fantasy is getting, but I just want a straight up basic Switch port of the existing game, lol. Touch screen controls do not function well enough for the sort of real-time action gameplay you have to deal with in high dragon trials.
It’d also be cool if they announced an anime adaptation, but I could take or leave that, lol. I feel like in practice it’d only cover the main campaign story which is basically the most uninteresting part of the game’s storytelling. It’d be great if it was a more lengthy adaptation that also covered a good amount of event and adventurer stories, since that’s where the story really shines, but I doubt it. I’m pretty sure the GBF anime also pretty much just covers it’s own main story, but I don’t go there so I dunno.
Oh, and I hope they at least give a more specific time-frame for when we’ll get the whole ‘replay past events’ feature. And more info on what types of events that will cover would be nice. But I still think they’ll just be a Q1 2020 thing.
