How the GFH, Resistance and the Seeds would feel about Oscar Lapis - PART 2
(Taken evidence from both Far Cry 5 canon and ideas from my Far Cry The Silver Chronicles story).
Trigger Warnings: There are allusions to dark topics such as SA, abuse, incest and paedophilia. There are mentions of violence, murder, kidnapping, character death, misogyny and bigotry. If these topics trigger you, do not continue below this part, nor read the previous part in regard to Father Adam Omar. The other parts of this series should not have as much severity as these two do.
Oscar Lapis
GFH/FFH - Again, like Adam Omar, everyone would dislike Oscar, especially since Silva knows him, and even before she informs them of who Oscar is, he and his Enforcers just aligned themselves with Eden's Gate with no explanation other than "because [the Hope County locals] are sinners". They'd likely find Oscar Lapis to be a dangerous combination of John Seed's smug snake nature with Jacob Seed's experienced militant mindset. As a veteran who served in Afghanistan, Grace Armstrong would likely consider Oscar Lapis a disgraceful soldier, even less a captain, just like Jacob. The things Oscar leads his fellow Enforcers to do (under the guise they're doing "God's Will" when it's really just an excuse to do as they wish) against the residents of Hope County heinously without mercy would probably remind her of the Taliban. Oscar's quick drawing skills might just rival Grace's sharpshooting. She would probably believe he deserves to die. Nick Rye would initially associate Oscar and John to be one in the same. However, Oscar's unpleasant lust for the women in the county (including threats against Nick's wife, Kim) and his past with one of Nick's most trusted friends, Silva (both Oscar's awareness of Adam Omar's abuse on her as well as getting involved with his own brutal physical violence), would probably have Nick classify Oscar as a bigger and perhaps more personal threat than John (who Nick will learn detests Oscar, a surprising commonality between both pilots). Nick would also be pissed by how Oscar treats his betrothed, Denise. Boomer wants to bite Oscar. Hurk Drubman Jr. would likely see Oscar Lapis not as threatening as Adam Omar, but still someone to be weary of. Might actually be used as espionage in Omar's Guard to get access to Jacob's Armoury (which had been the first Eden's Gate establishment, alongside Joseph's Compound, to be stolen after Omar's Guard' betrayal). Oscar would find Hurk pretty funny, and if Hurk played his cards right, he can even get Oscar's guard down. Though he'll be pissed afterwards once he finds out Hurk is a spy. Jess Black, again, would probably want to kill Oscar, especially when he targets her during espionage with Ryan Gravel, humiliating and harassing her, his smug grin always on his face. Jess knows he suspects she isn't Ryan's betrothed but has to play up the facade in order to not blow Ryan's cover. Oscar's actions towards Eden's Gate members, specifically non-threatening families, might bring Jess distress (which is Oscar's intention). Then Oscar publicly brags, in a canteen full of Enforcers (and Adam Omar himself), with Jess and Ryan present, about learning the location of Dutch's Bunker and how they're finally going to get rid of a major player in the Resistance. Cheeseburger would curb-stomp Oscar for Silva and Jess. Adelaide Drubman, much like when Adam Omar first arrived in the war-torn county with his Enforcers to "aid" Eden's Gate, would probably appreciate Oscar's body, especially in his uniform/armour. However, once his bigotry, abuse on Silva (as well as his awareness of Adam Omar's incestuous paedophilia with his children) and awful treatment of Denise comes to light, Adelaide's all aboard the "kick Oscar Lapis' ass" train. Relates Oscar's (less threatening) misogynistic comments to how her husband, Hurk Sr. speaks. Sharky Boshaw would hate Oscar for the above reasons Adelaide would and be shocked he's considering John Seed a more tolerable foe. Oscar would likely be amused by Sharky's whimsical nature. Peaches is coming to gut Oscar.
The Resistance - Pastor Jerome would find Oscar's sociopathy and blatantly honest admissions that "he's just in it for the entitlement and exertion of power" as appalling as Adam Omar's hypocrisy. Mary May's admitted she would never forgive anyone who willingly follows Joseph Seed, so the same would apply with anyone who follows Adam Omar. Oscar Lapis is a menace to Nick, but becomes an absolute nightmare to Kim, who Silva manages to convince into going to her residence (which has a hidden bunker installed) with Carmina, given Silva knows from personal experience that Oscar will strike at Nick's personal weaknesses now that he has Oscar's attention (Oscar was the Enforcer who murdered Irene Neon, Silva's first love and Persephone's mother, which is why Kamski Neon hates the man). Eli Palmer would like to put an arrow in Oscar's heart (if he lived in FC:TSC). Tammy and Oscar got beef, and it gets worse when he learns of Eli's death. Wheaty isn't as traumatised by Oscar as he is by Adam Omar but does think Oscar's a dick for pressing Tammy's buttons. Virgil Minkler associates Oscar and his Enforcers to the likes of the Gestapo, while Adam Omar is their dictator. Tracey is initially baffled by the fact anyone would willingly follow Adam Omar's obvious lies... only to realise that Oscar and his Enforcers are very aware of Adam's delusions and are just taking advantage of it. Oscar would rub her the wrong way. Dutch would be shocked by the fact a group as appalling and uncaring as the Congregation of Omar's Guard exists. He'd consider them fascists and/or "colonial Nazis". Sheriff Whitehorse would consider Oscar and his Enforcers a shameful mockery of authority. Would definitely use Omar's Guard' violence as evidence to Eden's Gate that the Resistance and the Project need to team up (especially after Omar's Guard stabbed Eden's Gate in the back). Deputy Hudson would be all for "instant death penalty" for Oscar Lapis and his Enforcers. Both her and Deputy Pratt would likely be disgusted by Oscar's abuse of authority. Pratt would consider him weak. Marshal Burke would be shocked that Omar's Guard was still active and remained hidden for almost 300 years without the U.S government noticing.
The Seeds - Once Joseph gets over the shock of betrayal (and being deceived), he would be disgusted by Oscar's lack of empathy. John would despise Oscar's nonchalant attitude towards his crimes. Jacob would already be angry towards Oscar's attempt on Joseph's life, and livid at his inglorious attitude. Would consider him weak too. Faith would consider Oscar selfish and self-serving but wouldn't want to be stuck in the same room as him again (for obvious reasons).
Anyway, that's part two of how I feel these characters would view Oscar Lapis. Comment and/or reblog how you think these characters would feel about/react to Oscar Lapis. Part three will be on Paul Yellowjack.

"Effed up media"? You know, shows like supernatural, Dexter, life with Derek. The last two featured "step siblings", a common trope sadly :/
There were also some shows here and there I can't remember where the evil siblings were uncomfortably close. Ragnarok comes to mind for an example.
Anime does it. All. The. Time. To the point where I don't watch it as much anymore ☹️
Fantasy books, especially in the YA section, featured this a lot (with step siblings, I think people just don't know how to write step siblings) and then c*ss*ndra Cla*re highlighted an even worse trope: the heroine, finding out she has the blood of [insert high fantasy royalty or creature] gets swept off her feet by a handsome dude who's either the second male lead or the plot twist villain, only the bigger plot twist at the end reveals he's actually, also, her brother 😱😱 oh no, how will they "will they/won't they" now 😱😱 easily apparently, the author will just continue to let him flirt ☹️
Lol, I'm going to throw PJO (percy jackson) into this because I was totally fine with the pairings there until he spent a few pages trying to "it's not really incest" us, the readers, which did the opposite for me and plagued me for the rest of the series. 🤣
But I more often than not saw it in books aimed for teen girls, so I eventually avoided them like the plague only picking up a series after peaking at the fandom. My rule of thumb was, if I saw a lot of inc*st tags, then I would avoid that series.
Likewise, there have been fandoms I was in that took perfectly healthy familial relationships and decided to make them the main ship, or one of the top ships, of the fandom. I learned my lesson, though, and just won't join fandoms where the main characters or one of the main characters are a healthy family.
Below the cut is mentions of works that feature explicit content, nothing in detail but considering the context of this post, it may be more triggering. Please proceed with caution and care.
Only one time, was there an author in the YA section, that made actual inc*st books. Most of her books also featured smut. Like, heavily detailed, foreplay-org*sm, smut. In the TEEN/YA section of every library I visited. Her books fearured inc*st, mast*rbation/self discovery (the girls were always less than 10 🤢 one was six but went through a super early puberty, don't recommend), inc*st, pa*d*philia/eph*b*philia, and more inc*st. To this day, I still am lost to how they made it into the section. If anything in my past would scar me, it would be this author's works. But I digress, there's your answer.
I'm pretty sure Li Ling knows that Tang Yun has a very... Toxic... Thing on his brother. To me it reads heavily as inc*stuous but that's due to all the media I've consumed ruining so many sibling relationships that now I'm uber sensitive to that sort of thing.
Regardless, I think we all can agree that Tang Yun is not in a healthy mindset, especially with how he obsesses over Tang Xuan.
And I put forth this theory that Li Ling is aware of how Tang Yun feels and, as such, is protective of Tang Xuan, who does not- can not- see it.
First of all, it is clear that Tang Xuan and Li Ling talk to each other a lot. Not just in person but on the phone ("communicator") all the time. We have a few stories where, when one is mentioned the other is also brought up or where one is, the other is somewhere near.
For the purpose of this theory, we will focus on the communicator, as we see that Tang Xuan doesn't necessarily text often (probably too busy for it, lmfao) but does use the social app. Li Ling seems to be the first to notice that Tang Xuan is MIA, just by the fact that he doesn't answer his calls.
Look at the time stamps of Li Ling's messages.
Tumblr media
There are huge gaps of time between his first three messages, before Tang Xuan replies to him when he gets his phone back. And, after Tang Xuan responds, Li Ling's message comes in 2 hours later, talking about some "weak ass miramon".
Fine. Sure.
But if you go over to the social media app, you see this post from Tang Yun:
Tumblr media
Lemme preface by reminding y'all this is my personal theory on the order of events, as this app doesn't have any convenient time stamps (:/), but I think we can assume this message comes hours before Tang Xuan gets his phone back.
Two questions pop up:
1. How does he know Tang Xuan is "missing"?
2. Who is accusing him of abducting Tang Xuan?
Tang Xuan then responds to him- maybe after he makes his "I'm not dead!! :P" post, maybe before- and after that is when he gets this message from Tang Yun:
Tumblr media
Again, take note of the time. This is well after Tang Xuan has replied to Li Ling, about 8 hours later. I believe that in between his reply to Li Ling and Tang Yun's text, he posts his "I'm still alive!! Cx" social media post,
Tumblr media
which then alerts Tang Yun that his brother isn't missing which then prompts his text.
Ok, we all on the same timeline now? Good. THEORY TIME.
I propose that Li Ling (Who is accusing him of abducting Tang Xuan?), not receiving any response from Tang Xuan for near 24 hrs, sent him on a warpath to who he assumes is the most likely culprit of the impromptu dissapearance- Tang Yun.
Li Ling and Tang Xuan talk all. The. Time. Li Ling absolutely knows that, in his previous mission, Tang Xuan came face to face with his brother. And Li Ling probably knows about how Tang Yun admitted to how he would monopolise the one he loves' time and attention, keep them to himself. Tang Xuan probably spared no details going through the entire mission.
Li Ling probably picked up instantly that Tang Yun was referring to Tang Xuan as that "someone he loves" and, remember, this mission takes place not even a week after the Crow one, so it's still fresh in Li Ling's mind, the words Tang Yun said about keeping his loved one to himself. And now Tang Xuan is missing...?
Yeah, I think he went straight for Tang Yun, got pissed (and probably a bit relieved) when he realised Tang Yun did not kidnap Tang Xuan, and then went off to try find him himself, taking on hoards of miramon (enough that he would miss a respond from Tang Xuan by two hours) much to the worry of Lewis and their friends. Then Li Ling tried to play it off for a bit, acting like he was just doing normal union things except Lewis explicitly says that he was actively trying to calm "everyone" down.
Lewis?
Calming people down?
Dude gets fired up at the drop of a pin... Except when someone is in crisis mode, and from his like FIVE CAMEOS (freaking dislyte, give us more Lewis pleaaase) we only really see him act level headed when he's with Tang Xuan and Li Ling.
So, methinks Li Ling might've tried to rally the troops to find Tang Xuan, Leora- an obvious choice as she's a living bishoujo heroine- probably got caught up in the dramatics of it, David and Q too (simple minded David just always ready to be there or be square, Q sniffing a potential story) etc etc. So they're all just psyching each other up and/or out so now Lewis has his crisis that he can take charge in and de-escalate.
Meanwhile, Tang Yun now knows that his brother is missing (How does he know Tang Xuan is "missing"?) and I can only guess how pissed off he got, his mental stability taking a swan dive into the Marianas Trench of all the possibilities of where his brother could be and scenarios where he would keep him by his side, so that this could never occur again. Hence the very aggressive threat (promise?) that he would hogtie Tang Xuan for his own good if this were to occur again.
The fact that he uses the word hogtie is very disturbing and, for those that aren't sure what that looks like, here's an as SFW-as-tying-people-up-can-be demonstration I could find of it
Tumblr media
We are going to ignore the NSFW implications, and just focus on the vulnerability this position puts a person into.
This is the kind of messages Tang Yun sends his brother.
This is the kind of imagery he wants to put his brother in.
And Li Ling knows. He freaking knows and is probably one of the few espers who caught on that something was off with Tang Yun.
Tumblr media
And Tang Xuan is
So
Damn
Oblivious ヽ(`д´;)/
Like damn, boy, I understand, he's your brother- that's just NOT something a healthy sibling would ever imagine their sibling would do or think or act. But by golly, could you maybe just focus on what he's saying rather than picking out the most inconsequential, insignificant parts? 😭 Bro is ignoring every red flag and siren.
#blessings to you for avoiding those kind of shows and those kind of books and those kind of fandoms#i read a lot as a kid#i was that kid that tried to read every book in the ya section#i frequented 3-4 different libraries just to find new books#to no one's surprise a lot of them were copy cats#hence why i noticed the weird inc//st trope often#anime's thing is the cultural whiplash#japan media has no problem depicting familial relationships like a romantic couple#even the most plain jane slice of life low stakes anime will somehoe manage to squeeze it in#and when i grew older and tried out western dramas i went for what was popular#and tv drama writers just refuse to write healthy sibling dynamics#because there's no drama in healthy communication and boundaries 🙄🙄#so why not just make your siblings get uncomfortably intimate with each other#that'll make the views soar 😐#i basically only consume manhua and manhwa and play mobile apps and the sims#no I'm not going to publicly say who the last author is#iykyk#i hope you dont tho#the hippo speaks#the hippo responds#also i am pretty open about things#there's no shame from me i was a kid#if anything i just sigh in disappointment remembering all the things my kid self was exposed to#poor younger me#i was just one of them gifted autistic with social paranoia and anxiety ☹️#if anything im open about these things so people stop treating their younger selves like a pest to be ignored#tw: incest mention#tw: paedophilia mention

Honestly, at this point, the more that someone bangs on about how much they hate "pedophiles" and makes a show of saying how much they want to kill every single one of them in gratuitously horrible ways and what they'll do if they ever catch one hanging around a schoolyard or whatever, the more that I just kind of assume that they have several hundred gigs of child pornography on their computer.

Charles is a piece of shit. He’s been friends with jimmy saville, is financially supporting Andrew and now is supporting Kevin spacey. The man clearly sides with sex offenders and pedophiles. He can rot in hell with them as far as I care.
He has no morals whatsoever
And send tweet.
I honestly did think his days of being that way were long over and naively did believe he actually cared about throwing that unfortunate DNA connection out of Windsor too but that's not it at all. He would fall face first on hot coals if it were up to me.

Why is it everyone who defends paedophilia by bringing up anti-queer panics by conservatives never speaks on how it's more likely to for queer people to be on the receiving end of sexual violence? Why do people who defend sexual violence such as paedophilia as a pro-queer stance never speak up for queer victims/survivors? Why is it that everyone who defends rape by bringing up the weaponisation of anti-black panics by conservatives never addresses anti-blackness as justification for the sexual violence towards Black people? Why do these rape apologists never speak up for Black victims/survivors? Why does everyone bring up the fear of falsely accused paedophiles and rapists and never the fact that most actual paedophiles and rapists walk free no matter what because we don't live in a society that actively believes victims/survivors in the first place?
Why are you lot so committed to defending the rights of the abuser dead over the victims/survivors that are living? Why do you lot always see and prioritise the humanity of the abuser, the rapist and the paedophile over that of the victim/survivor?

TW: p**dophilia mention & r*pe mention
Also spoiler warning for Poor Things (2023) (for those who care)
I watched Poor Things tonight - really, really disturbing. I mean...there's so many layers of gross. A person with a baby's brain masturbates and fucks...a lot. Sorry but that to me is disgusting. Also the fact that the character has sex with grown men while she has an underdeveloped CHILD brain, is surely statutory r*pe. Yorgos mate, wtf? I don't know how this isn't a bigger issue. I've only seen a few people calling the film out.

If I had a coin for every time this show turned one of Hürrem's allies into a paedophile I'd have two coins. Which isn't a lot but it feels telling that it's happened twice.

i just remembered, my ex/friend's mother, who works specifically with autistic children, told my friend about some theory that she had found and thought made sense ig?? i don't remember the numbers but it was basically like "autistic people are mentally half their age plus five" and then used that logic to explain why i acted the way she had just decided on her own that i had acted during the breakup (she doesn't know what happened) because i'm basically like a 15 year old mentally or smth?? we were both 20 btw. my friend is definitely autistic but undiagnosed, and they most likely inherited it from their undiagnosed mother, but according to her they're both allistic. like did she not think about the implication that her child would be dating a person who was much younger mentally than them?
anyway the amount of ableism coming from people who insist they're allies is unreal. these kinds of ideas could take away my rights if in the wrong place at the wrong time

How the GFH, Resistance (leaders and Sheriff's Department, mostly) and the Seeds would feel about Father Adam Omar - PART ONE
(Taking both evidence from Far Cry 5 canon and some of my own ideas in Far Cry The Silver Chronicles).
Trigger Warnings: There is allusions to dark topics such as child abuse, paedophilia, incest, and SA. There are mentions of murder, character death, manipulation, misogyny, kidnapping, bigotry and violence, if any of these are triggering topics for you, then please do not continue below, or just don't read part one and two at all. This ony applies for part one and two, given those are Father Omar and Oscar Lapis' (+ the Enforcers) sections, however, the other parts shouldn't have triggering warnings as severe as these two, so you might be able to read those ones once they come out.
Father Adam Omar
GFH/FFH - Everyone very quickly hates the guts of this 7'1, 68-year-old deluded fascist preacher. Especially with what they learn he did to Silva, someone who has, without argument, gained their respect and trust, even someone they consider a good friend. I see Grace Armstrong being quite shocked at the things Adam Omar has done to his two daughters (and their predecessors), given she considers her own dad to be the most important person in her life. And seeing what Adam condones now would likely make her despise him more than the Seeds and Eden's Gate (then again, maybe not). Likely (justifiably) believes that he deserves death more than anyone else in the county, along with his Enforcers, and is disgusted with his use of "God's Will" as a shield to deflect and justify his own despicable and hypocritical actions, as she believes in God as well. Is incredibly shocked when she can't land a single shot on him (due to something always interfering with her skill and/or protecting Adam Omar himself, making his claims of being protected by "God" seem more plausible than simple "coincidences"). Nick Rye, being a recent father himself, would be horrified and angered by how Adam Omar, or anyone really, could view their own children in such a sick and twisted way, or even as a tool to use and dispose of without much reason. He'd probably be heartbroken and sympathetic towards Silva, knowing she had to endure almost 18 years of her life under constant threat of death (and worse) while with Adam, and given his bigotry, he'd consider it lucky she even survived with the odds stacked against her. Boomer would probably know Adam Omar is no good and would also notice Silva's fear of the man as well. Hurk Drubman Jr. is a little hard to narrow down. Overall, I'd like to think he'd understand that, unlike Joseph Seed and Eden's Gate, Adam Omar is far more malicious and dangerous. A lot of what Adam says would either go over Hurk Jr.'s head or he'd find them pretty "not okay", especially Adam's comments on women. Jess Black would probably want to kill Adam Omar considering everything he has done, especially to Silva. In FC:TSC, I have a plot where she goes undercover with a double-agent Enforcer, Ryan Gravel, to gain more intel on Omar's Guard. Despite how well both were doing during the mission, once Adam Omar met her, he figured everything out immediately (whether it be keen observation, Oscar Lapis' suspicion or the Voice warning him of the espionage). Likely grows frustrated none of her arrows can even hit Adam Omar (due to coincidences or divine intervention). Cheeseburger would maul Adam Omar if given the chance. With Adam Omar's first arrival, Adelaide Drubman probably be attracted to his appearance (considering he is well groomed for his age). However, upon discovering just how heinous he is (through Silva's own accounts of him and his actions thus far), she'd go full mama bear on his ass (I think Silva and Adelaide would get along a surprising amount). Probably has her consider Eden's Gate to be more reasonable than Omar's Guard. Sharky Boshaw would hate Adam Omar for hurting his best friend (Silva) and for almost ruining his love for fire. In FC:TSC, he and John create the biggest diversion to ever exist (one he is proud of) and enjoys when Adam Omar falls for the bait. Is surprised however when Adam specifically remembers Sharky, when usually he'd ignore a "unruly and shameless sinner". Peaches would scratch out Adam Omar's eyes for harming her Silva.
The Resistance - Pastor Jerome would despise Adam Omar's use of God as a justification of his actions, as it's much like Eden's Gate, but on a far more incredulous and disturbing scale. He quickly finds Adam Omar is irredeemable and too arrogant to believe anything is his fault. Jerome has witnessed first-hand how hypocritical and cruel Adam can be. Mary May would definitely be the first to call out Adam Omar as a hypocrite and a "misogynistic piece of shit". She and Jerome are one of the first to witness how Adam reacts to criticism (which isn't great at all). Kim Rye would be disgusted and horrified by Adam Omar's actions, both in the present against the County and in the past with what he did to his own daughter, Silva, someone Kim trusts enough to make her the godmother of Carmina. It saddens and angers her even more to learn that Silva and Elsa weren't the first pair, and Adam Omar intended to have daughters simply for the purpose of stroking his ego and hurting them. Eli Palmer would be disgusted by Adam Omar's lack of empathy and respect to others (if he lived long enough in FC:TSC). Adam Omar would definitely be on Tammy Barnes' shitlist after an attempt on Wheaty's life. During a near-death encounter with Adam Omar, Wheaty is absolutely terrified of the Prophet, and is all for bringing him down. Virgil Minkler would want to get rid of Adam Omar as much as he would like to get rid of Faith and the Bliss, given how badly Adam had hurt someone as good-hearted and compassionate as Silva, and doesn't understand how a father can resent their child from birth. He doesn't see Adam Omar and his Enforcers like Joseph and his siblings, as the latter two acted as a mayor and city counsellors, meanwhile, the former two act like a dictator and his gestapo. Tracey Lader is baffled by how obvious Adam Omar is in his deception and wonders how anyone could even fall for his bullshit... though she soon realises majority of his Enforcers know exactly what they're doing and are just using his justification of "God's Will" as a flimsy excuse to do as they please. Probably feels sympathy and a newfound respect towards Silva. Tracey may not have had a dad present in her life, but she's probably glad she didn't have someone like Adam Omar as a father. Dutch Roosevelt would be furious towards Adam Omar, especially with everything the Prophet has done in both in the past and the present. Sheriff Whitehorse, having come to view Silva as a daughter of sorts, would be absolutely onboard with taking Adam Omar down, even to the point where he actually believes it would be necessary to ally with Eden's Gate, especially after Omar's Guard betrays the group. Given Deputy Hudson's admittance about being all for "instant death penalty" for people like John Seed, she'd probably think the same for Adam Omar, and consider him worse than John. Deputy Pratt would likely be the first to point out how it is impossible for any normal person to wound Adam Omar, leading him to believe that the Prophet is telling the truth about being blessed with "God's protection", but thinks God may have simply forgot about Adam or had him as a backup if Joseph failed (or vice versa). Let's be real, Marshal Burke would be horrified by how many lines Father Omar has crossed, and terrified by the fact no one, not even America's government, knew he even existed, or the fact Omar's Guard is still active after seemingly disappearing almost 300 years ago. Would be pissed by the fact that Adam Omar believes his word is law.
The Seeds - Joseph Seed's reaction is a little tricky to place down. Though I'm convinced Adam Omar would be able to bullshit him by taking advantage of Joseph's need to be believed and giving fake understanding on what it is like carrying the burden of God's Will, but how necessary it is for men like them to be strong and act on it anyway. It's only when Joseph notices or is told about the Enforcers suspicious activities and witnesses Adam Omar's own violent outbursts that he starts reconsidering the older prophet's words. Joseph only sees Father Omar's true colours once he sees how the 7'1 man treats Faith and talks about Silva. Once Adam Omar and the Enforcers betray Eden's Gate in their short alliance, Joseph realises the extent of Adam's rotten heart and sees behind the mask; seeing the envy and bigotry that fill his hollow soul. The fact he actually is a prophet like Joseph makes the latter wonder why the Voice would choose such a diseased man. Note: Adam Omar is key to Joseph's character development. John, by this point, is one of the first to know about Adam Omar before everyone else, thanks to being stuck with Kamski and Silva (at least in FC: TSC). John would be absolutely appalled by Adam Omar, and I'd like to think he'd consider the so called "sinners" (e.g. the Resistance) as far more human than (who he would likely consider to be) this fraud. Adam Omar's unapologetic attitude and refusal to acknowledge what he does is wrong would baffle and anger John. The fact Adam basically represents the seven deadly sins but parades himself as the seven holy virtues would be another source of frustration. No doubt, John would declare Adam beyond redemption, or even deserving of Atonement. Jacob would be suspicious of Adam Omar, but considering Joseph is accepting Omar's Guard' alliance, he'd probably trust his brother's judgement. He'd likely admire the manpower and strategic coordination Adam Omar is capable of managing and surprisingly good at commanding. However, the Enforcers' behaviour would likely off-put Jacob, and Adam's wilful ignorance of their behaviour even more so. It's only when Omar's Guard betrays Eden's Gate and almost gets Joseph killed that Jacob realises that their strength and militant experience is overpowering. Upon discovering who Adam Omar really is, Jacob can only feel disgust and hatred towards the man. Would categorise him as "weak". Though he soon realises that it's not as simple as that; Adam Omar is morally an uncaring and arrogant scumbag of a man, but he is dangerous and holds a lot of power. Faith would likely suspect Adam Omar isn't all he makes himself out to be, given his general irritation with her presence and his obsessiveness over his delusions of grandeur, as well as noticing his Enforcers ogling her. These suspicions would be confirmed when she is warned by Ryan Gravel and Silva herself of what kind of men Adam Omar and his Enforcers really are. In FC:TSC, her relationship with Silva at this point is kind-of-friends (with some growing feelings both attempt to bury), so I'd like to think she would probably be the first Seed to attempt to do something against him, along with Ryan and surprisingly Jess Black (Jess doesn't like it but given the severity of the situation, the choice is between a cult that kills and kidnaps to "save" people or a cult that will treat her as property and are all too gleeful to commit massacres). However, after the Bliss refuses to go near him (thanks to the Voice's protection), Adam Omar reveals his true intentions to her after a dinner with her brothers, and informs her he is very aware of her "trysts" with his "lustful temptress of a daughter", and has Oscar and some Enforcers personally escort her back to her Gate for "correcting" (and if that fails, execution, which works well with Adam given the next day he decides to betray Eden's Gate). After Silva rescues her, and both the deputy and herald barely escape the bombing of the Henbane (no nukes, just regular bombs), she is angered for the loss of innocent lives.
Anyway, that's part one of how I feel these characters would view Father Adam Omar. Comment and/or reblog how you think these characters would feel about/react to Father Omar. Part two will be on Oscar Lapis.

long unstructured uncle jack rant under the cut!! obvious warnings apply
tldr; i'm just really sick of him as a character and i don't see how they could make any of this feel worthwhile from a comedy or serious character development angle (especially what we saw in frank vs russia). it's unfunny, it's lazy, it's thoughtless, it's tactless
idk I'm just kind of sick of Uncle Jack and atp I don't have any faith in sunny as a whole to deal with him in a way that's thoughtful or respectful.
It was one thing when it was all coy “Is he really a paedo or is he just a bit weird?” but outright requesting suggestive images of children??? I’m sorry but what is funny about that? and besides how insensitive and genuinely unfunny he’s been all season, the ice cream truck?? it’s not even so overdone it circles back to funny, cos the whole thing feels so phoned-in. It's the kind of joke we all made in primary school without even the slightest subversion or switcheroo or anything new or interesting or clever. In the same episode, it’s implied that he roofied Charlie as a child. What the fuck.
I never found him particularly funny, but I get how it could be in the same way “the implication” can be funny. But, like the implication, you lose any and all potential for humour when you stop leaving any room for interpretation or plausible deniability. The joke can't be the guy's a paedophile. That's not a joke. And once you take away that plausible deniability, it makes the character unenjoyable. I feel the same way about Dennis and Dee in TUFTG, for example.
Best case scenario, the reason we're seeing him so much is to lead into Charlie confronting his trauma head-on (which he has already been doing ftr) and finding a way to sever ties completely. But even in that scenario, we shouldn't need to see that Jack has a whole operation going on, and have that played (unsuccessfully) for cheap laughs. It is possible for Charlie to deal with Jack in a way that's cathartic or shows development or closes an arc or whatever without spoonfeeding the audience this disgusting shit.
Also, I think we don't need to see Jack outside of Charlie. His character is only important in relation to Charlie. We only care about him in relation to Charlie. and we know what he's done to Charlie (at least it's heavily heavily implied) and its impact. What is the point of showing us MORE of that shit? It provides no additional context. Just feels super lazy and cheap. Literally its only purpose is "haha paedophile funny durrr".
I'm super concerned the whole storyline will end in “Charlie really didn't get abused -- he was telling us the truth the whole time!” as some godawful attempt at subversion since there's been no attempt to subvert expectations re Jack thus far. And how could anyone involved in the writing think jokes like this (executed in the way they are) are acceptable if they're not planning on going somewhere with them?? It feels like it's going somewhere. idk i hope this isn't what's happening but it's what i'm sensing
Also, as a lot of people have said already, there's a common thread between late-seasons Sunny's poor handling of sexual assault jokes and sexual assault/abuse in general :/ Obviously, this can't be placed on one person (especially since we know how involved RCG are in each step of the process), but I think it's interesting to note.

Question answered! Thanks OP you fucking idiot!
I am actually a bit sad that the answer turned out to be "mainstream media good" and "fanwork bad" though. :(
Was hoping for a more interesting definition of problematic beyond "things I like are fine, and things I don't like are not fine!" I guess I was being too optimistic about OP having sense.
i recommend being a fan of 1 problematic piece of media at least once in your life
#wincest...that's supernatural right?#Is that the ones with the twins?#I can't remember#either way question answered whoop!#but also sad it was so simple in the end#I feel like OP is probably reacting like Spongebob in that pic on the calmest rollercoaster ever. XDDD Very apt#actually why is it always the weirdly controlling ones that think people should watch something problematic?#They demand that people follow their orders in the notes...but they also demand people watch things that might be uncomfortable for them#but then they also think people who go around demanding things from others should not be on the internet#so...OP is basically doing the exact same thing as that hypothetical 32 year old Julia themselves...#but it's okay when they're doing it I guess?#“Do what I say but when others do this then I hate them!” situation? XD#fandom is as contradictory as ever lol#incest mention tw#paedophilia mention tw#abuse mention tw#I get what they mean about sounding like a wannabe villain though#OP definitely sounds like one...I wonder if their name is Julia. O_O#For those who might still be confused: OP is basically complaining about people not behaving the way they personally want them to#One of their complaint is that other people complain too much about other people not behaving the way they personally want them to#Yes it's very ironic#No I don't think they realise the irony so be gentle with them y'all!#no I dunno if OP is proship or anti or whatever other labels people are using these days don't ask me ^^;;;#And yes I'm very confused by the random insult they tacked on at the end too since they were just answering my question prior to that#still I work under the principle that if someone sends me an insult then I must return the flavour even if their hostility is very random#P.S. Yes OP is insisting that TV shows with incest and abused etc is okay but fanworks with incest and abuse etc is not okay#I don't think they've realised their hypocrisy in that either...#No I do not agree with OP they're very narrowminded

Not with kids, but presenting herself as a child, in situations of child abduction etc. etc.
ohhhh thank goodness. It wouldn’t be paedophilic content then I don’t believe bc no actual kid is involved but that still sounds, y’know, Not Great. esp like sexualising child abduction? I’ve done research on that subject for my writing a few times and like… it’s fucked up and sad and that feels very weird to do so?
on the other hand, it’s really sad to think she’s got an audience of weirdos who want her to be more like a child. that doesn’t sound like, safe. sounds like weird incels and those are… dangerous… i hope she doesn’t get hurt no one deserves that.

The BAU hadn't had a case like this for a while...
This case had gotten media attention across the country, further even. All because this unsub was doing things that many a soul had thought about, hell even acted upon, the difference between their unsub and the average person, is that he was getting away with it.
For the last month, bodies had been cropping up all over Denver, Colorado, all with the same MO. People, both men and women, had been found dead in different locations, the only things that the victims had in common were the ways they were killed and that they were all once convicted of a crime. These crimes have ranged from rape, domestic abuse, paedophilia and stalking, but each of the victims had been killed using three consecutive methods.
As the car arrived at the scene of the crime, the body being found outside his own home, I wasn't massively shocked to see the crowd of media representatives surrounding the scene, I was a little perturbed to see a separate crowd of protesters.
"How many of them are there?" I asked confused, "God the street is crawling with them!" Morgan nodded from beside me, as we both stepped out of the car. Hotch grumbled under his breath, "Clearly the local cops didn't secure the area very well." The reporters seemed to have noticed us, we weren't exactly inconspicuous in our suits and sunglasses, but we still flashed the badge, asking them to move as politely as we could.
Immediately we were swarmed, questions being fired at us left and right, "Do you have any idea who was behind this killing?" "What is being done to keep this community safe?" "Why has it taken this long for the FBI to become involved?"
We tried to answer as many as we could without giving away too much of the investigation, including how little had been discovered so far. The police here had no leads, so we were working off of very little, and, until we had analysed the crime scene, we had no working profile of the unsub to make up a suspect list. This was square one...
Morgan walked over to the protesters, myself following close behind, they were all carrying banners or picket signs, they each read various forms of propaganda, 'He's Saving Lives', 'Let Him Live', 'Grim Will Save US.' I tilted my head as we walked closer to the crowd. Derek very clearly hadn't assessed the situation as strongly...
"Don't you worry folks, we'll have this guy behind bars soon!" He called out, trying to get the group to leave peacefully, only to get angry faces and practically being spat at.
"Why? He's doing what our government is too scared to do now! I say let him go!" A woman cried, beginning a chant of, 'Let Him Go.' The chanting became louder, Hotch began seeming more nervous as they advanced. He turned to shout over his shoulder at the local police.
"Can you hold them back please?" At the authority in his voice, the cops quickly rushed to attention, herding Morgan and myself into the front yard. The crime scene.
The body had been placed, almost gently, into the flowerbed in the front yard, some of the blood that decorated his body had even been mopped up. "Do we have an ID on the victim yet?" I asked Hotch, receiving a negative, apparently the neighbours knew of the victim, knew that he lived here, but rarely spoke to him and didn't know his name, so I crouched down to see what we were working with.
This victim's demise, also followed the same MO of the last seven victims the unsub had killed. Each of the victims before this one, had been killed with three separate methods, asphyxiation, the throat was slit and then the victim was garroted. "Reid." Hotch asked from behind me, I turned to look at him, showing him he had my attention, "What have we got?"
I looked back to the body, fiddling with the gloves on my hands, "The victim seems to have been killed in the same methods of the unsub's MO, it's called the threefold death, it's a religious method of killing going as far back as Druid-Irish folklore. The threefold death obviously entailed a person being killed three separate times, in this case, asphyxiation, a form of stabbing and then a mixture of the two... It was said that this method of death was saved and used as a punishment for those who didn't deserve to die only once..." I told them, trying to be as concise as possible.
Hotch nodded, whilst Morgan began taking a closer look at the garrote around the man's neck. Each of the previous victims had been convicted of a crime, violent and sometimes sexual in nature. Each of the garrotes used seemed to be personalised, a single word scratched roughly into the wooden handle of them, this garrote in particular had the word, 'ABUSER' carved into the grain of the wood.
Morgan pulled out his phone, pressing it to his ear, "Babygirl, newest victim apparently has a history of abuse or domestic violence, can you work your magic?"
I focused back on the body.
Like all the previous victims, the body was as clean as the unsub could get it, he seemed to have cleaned up any blood that pooled on the skin, before laying them to rest, in an almost respectful manner. Laid flat on their backs, hands and arms crossed over their torso, with a single white lily laced delicately between their fingers. The only thing that didn't seem as respectful, was the plastic bag tired around their face, using the same garrote that was used to kill them. I decided to speak up my thoughts to Hotch.
"The unsub almost seems to have feelings of remorse, the funeral like way of displaying the bodies is another part of his signature, strange for what we would assume is just a spree killer, it's more likely that he was targeting these people, or that there was an extreme trigger involved.
"The white lily represents the transience of life and the emotions of grief and mourning, also strange for your average serial killer. There is the possibility that the unsub knew his victims before he killed them... That could prove that he has anti-social personality disorder, he's trying to replicate an emotion he has seen around death, like copying the process of mourning at a funeral." I finished, even I felt confused...
Hotch nodded along, before the three of us walked over to the front door of the victim's home, judging by the track marks through the blood, the victim was murdered in the home and dragged out to the garden. "The unsub must have been surveying the house and the neighbours, because most of them work nights or have late night activities, the victim was found outside his home at around one in the morning. Somehow, the unsub made his way into the home, killed this guy using three separate methods and dragged the body out of the home and positioned it the way he wanted in a small window of about three hours." I told the room.
Hotch nodded, following the trail of blood around the house, leading to a chair in the middle of the kitchen, the kitchen tile had a clear tarp laid over it, the chair on top, both were coated in a thick layer of dried blood, the knife used to slit his throat wasn't at the scene, so the unsub still had it...
(y/n) pov
The sting in my throat and eyes was horrid as I retched into the toilet bowl, the tears running down my face were falling hot and fast. Eventually, the vomiting stopped, I took a deep breath, now that I could, I flushed the toilet and shuddered.
I stood up, my legs shaking, almost buckling underneath me, I stumbled my way to the sink, looking up I saw myself in the mirror, the blood spattered across my face, my arms, my hands. My eyes were different to how they used to be, they were clouded by this grief, this agony I didn't know how to get rid of anymore. The colour was faded, the whites were blemished with deep red veins and my pupils were so dilated, so scared. Memories of the night flashed behind my eyes.
I was walking slowly, stalking forward, making my way to the front door of the house. I'd been watching the house for the last few weeks, he was a monster. Beat his previous wives, now he was alone. Beat his children, now he wasn't allowed to see them. The bastard was too scary for those poor women and children to keep charging him with the abuse, so now he was a free man...
Once I got to the door, I smiled seeing the electronic lock, I pressed a small device to the side of the lock, hearing a small buzz before the door clacked open. Taking my time, both so as not to alert my target and also partially dreading what I was about to do, I pushed open the front door, sneaking through the hallways, until I found the kitchen. The pig was drunk, he hadn't been home longer than half an hour, and he was almost passed out wasted, beer bottles lying around where he was sat on the couch, staring listlessly at the television.
I wobbled over to the shower, flinging back the curtain, my head reeling, I waddled carefully in, trying not to slip. I turned the shower head on, full blast, almost blistering hot, and began to scrub at my skin as hard as I possibly could. The water ran off of me in dark red waves, before they faded to pink and then clear. Once all the bloody water was sucked down the drain, I finally began to relax, which was a mistake.
I slunk up to the guy, leaning behind him before pulling out a plastic bag, the crunching sound of the bag alerted him. He turned and met my face, hidden by a mask, a cheap, crappy masquerade mask, a candy skull, hiding my face. A flash of realisation on James' face made me fear he had recognised me, instead, he began to stutter. "You're h-him, aren't you? The k-killer, t-the Reaper?" He whimpered. Coward. I leapt forward, wrapping the bag around his face and pulling.
I curled myself into the corner of the shower floor, the hot water making me more dizzy and in a deeper haze as tears filled my eyes.
"Please..." He kept begging, pleaded with me to spare his life as he tried to rock himself back and forth in the chair he was now tied to, "I'm sorry! I haven't gone near my family since the restraining order!" He shrieked, the most pathetic sounding noise. I almost spat at him, "Then your a liar as well as a beater." I growled, once he heard my voice, he realised that I wasn't the guy everyone was thinking of. "You're a pathetic excuse of human life, weak. You target the people who you're supposed to care for, children, your own wife." I snarled, stalking forward with a small, but extremely sharp, hunting knife.
The blood went everywhere, the walls, David James' face and clothes, the floor, me. The smell was metallic and bitter, it made me feel vile, hideous, tainted.
He was gasping, struggling for breath as I wrapped the bag around his face again, pulled out the garrote, bound the bag taut around his neck and began twisting, the wire digging painfully into the deep gash already across his neck. Eventually, he stopped struggling, stopped breathing. I let go of the garrote, the handle provoking me with my own handwriting, PAEDOPHILE. Taunting both David James, the beater and myself. (y/n) (l/n), the reaper.
I placed him in his car, and drove the short while down to the cemetery, I huffed as I pulled James' body out of the trunk, dropping him rather unceremoniously outside the gates, in a patch of half dead grass. I closed his eyes through the plastic bag, crossed his arms over his chest, and threaded a single white lily through his hands. After I had finished, I stood slowly, bowing my head, a moment of silence for the deceased, however undeserved it may be.
I left the shower, the water still dripping off of my body quickly becoming cold. I knew there would be little to no physical evidence that I was at the scene. I shuddered once again, the shiver continuing down my body. I quickly got changed and curled up in my bed, trying to remember who I was doing all of this for...

After examining the crime scene, we all went back to the station, Garcia's face appearing on the laptop screen as we began to review the case, what we knew so far. Gideon was writing on the whiteboard, pictures of the victims taped to the surface, annotations lining them. Elle was pacing the room, fiddling with a pen as she asked about the scene and, in turn, the unsub.
"The protesters outside, they sounded like they were supporting him, how popular is this unsub?" She asked, Garcia quickly typing up on her computer, finding the information in quick keystrokes.
"Oh, he's huge, most of Denver population believe that he's saving their children and friends, he's only killing off people who were convicted of a crime, there's never any witnesses, never any tips called in. These people believe that the government was wrong to get rid of capital punishment in Colorado, that these people deserved it.
"A lot of people also think that the unsub deserves the death penalty too, but that he's some sort of public figure, he knew the risks and the punishment, but took out those who were a risk to their society. The unsub has a lot of names, The Grim Reaper, Charon, The Wraith, lot of mythological connotations..."
I sat, stuck, staring at the whiteboard. "What's going on in that big, beefy brain?" I heard Garcia ask, I finally looked up at the team, all looking at me worried. I felt my brow furrow further as I stood and walked quickly, over to the board. There were seven victims up on the board, the ones we had found, who knew if there were more. Now there was an eighth.
"None of this makes sense." I murmured, "All of the evidence contradicts itself, we can't make a linear profile of the unsub..." I trailed my hands along the pictures, "The unsub should be someone who shows little to no emotion, but he sets his victims to rest in a nice place, with flowers, almost mourns them. He gruesomely murders his victims with an ancient religious process, only to have no showing of any other religious motif or ritualistic killing.
"They clearly have been watching their victims, their neighbours, their homes, but there is no physical evidence of that! The places the victims are left were proved by relatives to be special to them, so the unsub leaving the bodies there shows some sentiment and that, somehow, the unsub knew them but none of the victims had ever met each other and have no social circles in common with one another!"
I had never felt so frustrated and confused. Hotch patted me on the shoulder as I sat down again, running a hand through my hair. He began a pep talk that always begins the investigation, "True remorse from the unsub might only be capable if they were compelled to commit the killing for reasons unknown to even them, or he's being forced to..."

I didn't realise who this was until I went to block them, but bogleech found me on DA
Tumblr media
Yeah, not shocked in the slightest they don't remember me, that's the privilege these guys have; they get to throw heinous paedophilia accusations at survivors, tell them they deserve to die over fiction and then just move on with their life like nothing happened.
TW: CSA mention, Incest mention
Tumblr media
In case you can't tell; with everything else going on my life right now, I have no patience for this left. Don't want a survivor to dump their trauma on you? Don't claim drawings of an imaginary friend are equivalent.

Probably gonna put this in my intro for both this blog and my art one. I dont accept proshippers but if you ship incest, paedophilia, or anything of the sorts, I don't really want you on my page. Not someone I necessarily want to associate with (Im sure comshippers kinda fall under this category too ahhh).
If I find out youre a follower and do this sorta thing, kinda gonna softblock :p

What do “anti-radpara” and “anti-contact” mean? I looked them up and couldn’t find anything. Thanks.
Wow, I am so sorry this took me so long to answer. I'll link to all of these responses in my intro after so people can just be linked to the original answer!
Tw: lots of mention of harmful paraphilias and contacts; if that makes you uncomfortable, there is no shame in not reading:)
So, anti-radpara means anti-radical paraphilia. Anti-radpara is still a pro-paraphilia term; someone who is anti-radpara can support those who are paraphiles, even if they are the big three; it just stands against contact stances that aren't anti-contact. A contact stance is basically a stance on whether you think harmful paras (paedophilia, incestophilia, zoophilia, necrophilia, etc.) should be able to make contact or indulge with the people or things they are attracted to. There are quite a few contact stances, but the basic ones are anti-c(1) (anti-contact), neu-c(2) (neutral-contact), comp-c(3) (complicated-contact), and pro-c(4) (pro-contact). Anti-radparas are against anything that isn't anti-c because it's harmful to allow those with harmful paraphilias to act on their desires or attractions.
A footnote with a list and description of all the contacts that I mentioned: 1. Anti-contact means being against all contact with any harmful paraphilia.
2. Neutral contact means you're neutral to all or most contact with harmful paraphilias, or you don't care about contact discourse.
3. Complicated contact is when you agree with some harmful paraphiles having contact with their attractions but not all. It can often be described as situational.
4. Pro-contact is where you think all paraphiles, no matter their paraphilia, should have free reign to do whatever they want. This includes paedophiles having access to children to do what they want and zoophiles having free access to animals to do what they want.
