I Warned You

Warnings: lies, betrayal, manipulation, captivity, restraints

"I warned you nothing good would come of this," Caretaker said as they stared at Whumpee through the plexiglass divider. "I warned you not to trust Whumper. I warned you they were dangerous."

Whumpee frowned. They put their hand to the glass, cuffs clinking on the table. "You did. But I didn't listen."

Caretaker swallowed. They weren't even sure how they were going to begin to untangle Whumper's web of lies and clear Whumpee's name. Whumper had led everyone, including Whumpee, to believe they were a good person. That they were law abiding. And they used that to ensure Whumpee would take the fall for all of their wrongdoings.

And Whumpee did. So spectacularly that Caretaker wasn't even sure where to start.

"I'll get you out of here, Whumpee. I promise."

Whumpee gave a wan smile. There were dark circles under their eyes. Though they didn't look injured, they held themself gingerly and their eyes had a haunted look. "Don't make promises you can't keep, Caretaker."

"I will keep this promise. I will find a way to stop Whumper. I will find a way to free you."

Whumpee opened their mouth to reply, but the guard banged on the table behind them, making Whumpee flinch. "Visiting is over!"

Whumpee's face fell. It broke Caretaker's heart to see Whumpee like this. "Will you come visit me tomorrow?"

"I will visit you every day until I can free you, I promise, Whumpee."

In Your Arms III

Part 1 Part 2

Warnings: unconsciousness, hospital, bedside vigil, self sacrifice, lies, emotional manipulation, hurt/aftermath, hurt/recovery, caretaker and whumpee

Caretaker hadn’t moved in the three days Whumpee had been in the ICU. Hadn’t moved since the medical team let them sit by Whumpee. Hadn’t moved since they sat down and saw just how dire a condition Whumpee was in. Hadn’t moved because they were afraid the moment they relaxed, the monitors would blare and tell them Whumpee had died. 

And so they were stuck with their thoughts as they waited, as they hoped, for Whumpee to wake. 

There had been a ring box in Whumpee’s things. The hospital had given it to them to hold. They turned the box over and over in their hands as they thought about everything that had happened leading up to three days ago. 

Whumpee cheated on them. Whumpee cheated on them. Whumpee cheated on them. 

But Whumpee hadn’t. Whumper had confessed that they had try to get Whumpee to cheat, but Whumpee wouldn’t. That they had to blackmail Whumpee, had to threaten Caretaker’s life, to get Whumpee to even talk to them. And then that was all it took for Caretaker to believe the lie that Whumper was peddling–that Whumpee was a cheater. And that they didn’t love Caretaker. 

It had all be a lie. 

And one that Whumpee had let Caretaker believe. Because they had to. Or else Caretaker was dead. 

But that didn’t stop Whumpee from asking for forgiveness. Hadn’t stopped them asking for forgiveness even though they were choking on the blood that filled their mouth, filled their lungs. Didn’t stop them from trying to mend Caretaker’s broken heart even as theirs stopped.

Because that was Whumpee. Whumpee was always putting Caretaker’s happiness and well being above their own. It wasn’t the first time Whumpee had thrown themself in harm’s way for Caretaker. It was the first time that they died for it. 

But they weren’t dead. And neither was Caretaker.

“You have to live, Whumpee,” Caretaker whispered to the silent room, “because I do forgive you. Because I still love you. Because I will always love you.”

They leaned over to kiss Whumpee’s forehead. They would sit here as long as it took for Whumpee to wake. “Please, you have to live,” Caretaker whispered as they leaned back. 

Caretaker gasped as they saw Whumpee’s eyes blink open. “Whumpee!”

Betrayal ofc causes a trauma, even more if it involves people you trust by nature as your caregivers, someone who should never betray you or lie to you. You just go back to every moment with them and ask yourself how long it has lasted, what it all meant for real, how much of what they told you was real and how much not. You wonder if you're really lovable and worthy at all. You stop trusting the world around you cause how can you trust anyone else if someone you loved and was supposed to protect you by nature ended up betraying and lying to you? And you stop trusting yourself as well cause you feel guilty for not having seen that coming, for not having noticed, and you fear not being able to realize if any other person is going to betray you again without you knowing about it, to recognize who is real and who is fake with you.

This is a lot to deal with, so please be nice with yourself while you heal and grieve. It's gonna be a long process trying to understand who you really are and remind yourself of your worth, that doesn't depend on the lies you've been or will be told. Trying to realize that not everyone will betray you, and if someone will is not because of you, it never was you. You're not any less because you let someone hurt you or play with you. Your worth and lovability never come from how much someone thinks of you or how much they love you. They come from within you. Trust is an emotion that we create in our mind through our own thoughts. It is never created by the other person, they don't give it to us. We can decide to trust other people and survive to anything they will do and we can't control. And we can decide to trust again ourself as someone who learned a lesson and will be able to deal with the wrongdoings of other people, knowing those never depend on us: if someone decides to betray us, it's not our fault.

you never noticed this but its called seasickness because you’re on the sea. well you knew that part but how come it’s called planesickness instead of airsickness? it’s because you’re still effectively on the ground, whereas with seasickness youre on the sea. its just that the ground you’re on is not on the ground. its very high up ground. it should be groundsickness, really

so far this season only has ripaxel (😐) and the mkulia cheating scandal going for it. emma’s entire character revolved around chase, millie fucking sucks as usual, caleb is annoying, priya is a waste of potential, zee is just there, damien and michelle just drop one liners and disappear for the episode and all of the challenges are just squid game rip offs
