Dexter: Original Sin is so funny because at first I wasn't sure I wanted more Dexter but this week they showed him accidentally eating 6 weed brownies and now I'm sure I need it.

BOT LINK ੭୧
The smell of antiseptics and rubbing alcohol could not drown out the heavy scent of despair that hung in the air of the small ward. The girl, wrapped in a hospital sheet, resembled a broken doll thrown to the side of life. Your face, usually bright and cheerful, was distorted by a grimace of pain and hopelessness. The car accident, like a giant, merciless press, squeezed all the life out of her, leaving only fragments of broken hopes and the upcoming reality - life with a prosthesis instead of a leg.
The thought of a prosthesis caused a panic attack. A feeling of helplessness, as if you were trapped in your own body. Every breath gave off pain, every rustle intensified the growing feeling of doom.
The door opened silently, and he entered the ward - Rudy Cooper. The light fell on his face, emphasizing his perfect, almost black curls and his attentive gaze, full of strange, almost predatory interest. He was the embodiment of calm and confidence, a sharp contrast to the atmosphere of gloom that reigned in the room. Even his snow-white robe seemed impeccably ironed, as if especially for this meeting. He looked like a hero from a romantic movie, and not an ordinary prosthetist. His movements were smooth, confident, each gesture seemed carefully thought out. He did not just enter, but seemed to float into the room, carrying with him an aura of calm and some kind of supernatural self-confidence.
He approached the bed, stopping at a distance that did not allow for violation of personal space, but did not create a feeling of cold detachment. His gaze slid over her face, lingering on each scar, each tear, as if he were studying a rare and valuable exhibit.
"Hello, miss,” his voice was low, velvety, with a barely perceptible note of sympathy bordering on… something else. Something was mesmerizing in his voice, as if he knew how to play on the strings of the soul. “My name is Rudy Cooper. I will be doing your prosthetics.”
The girl was silent, only nodded, unable to utter a word.
Don’t worry,” Rudy said, as if reading her thoughts. “We will do everything possible so that you can live a full life again. And believe me, your new prosthesis will not just be a functional product, but a real work of art.”
He smiled, and this smile seemed to dispel some of the darkness that had enveloped her. There was something else hidden in his smile, something that made her heart beat faster. It was not lust, more like… interest, curiosity.
"I know it's not easy." Rudy continued, his fingers almost weightlessly touching her hand. "But you're a strong woman, miss. You can handle it. And I'll do everything I can to help you.

Nice to be back 🤝 #DexterOriginalSin
"...During the production of Dexter: Original Sin, Michael C. Hall returned to portray Dexter Morgan in a fascinating twist. On set, executive producer and writer Scott Reynolds invited Hall to visit the recreated Miami Metro P.D. set, which had been painstakingly reconstructed to match the original from the main series. Naturally, Hall accepted the offer and even took a photo inside Dexter’s iconic laboratory. This marked his first visit to a Dexter-related set since 2013, when he filmed the original series’ final season..."
Michael visited his "new" lab on set of the "Original Sin" set. His outfit gives a few hints how the new and the upcoming series ("Dexter - Resurrection") will have an ongoing storyline... (I haven´t seen the new episode yet)
The last picture and the quote are part of a story on https://www.dexterdaily.com/2024/12/michael-c-hall-returns-to-miami-metro.html

Harry Morgan is a complex character. I think trying to pigeon-hole him into either a bastion of perfect morality or a horrific abuser reduces not only him as a character but also Dexter as a character.
Harry was a man.
Harry couldn't predict the future and he wanted certainty. He didn't want to loose another son, he didn't want to have to watch as his child went to the electric chair. So he made a choice. Therapy may have worked instead sure, but it was no guarantee and let's not pretend that the therapy of the early 1980s was the therapy of today.
So Harry made a choice. It was a choice driven in part by a twisted sense of justice, of a sort of cosmic triage. If Dexter had to be a killer, why not kill the ones who killed? To "sacrifice the wicked for the sake of my son". But Harry bit off more than he could chew, Harry wasn't like Dexter and was repulsed at what he had made, and that's also his burden he bore.
Doris Morgan may have looked in Dexter's eyes and saw the possibility of good but Harry looked into those same eyes and saw everything bad and still chose to love him. It's easy to love something that does good, it's incredibly hard to still love something that does bad but he did.
Could Harry have told Dexter more often that he could change? Could Harry have taught Dexter a different code? Could the world had have been spared from the dark passenger of Dexter Morgan? Those questions won't ever be answered because that's the point! The actual point of Harry Morgan, the core of his character is that question that lingers and shall never be resolved. Did Harry Morgan make the right choice?

ARGHHH so…
There are thousands of pop culture articles about “the real life serial killer that inspired Dexter” and it’s just so incorrect!
so these articles often site a brazilian serial killer that focused on killing other killers and following a similar code to Dexter
But (and huge But) Dexter is based off the novel series by author Jeff Lindsay to which he has never referenced this aforementioned brazilian serial killer.
When asked about the true origins of the Dexter character Jeff Lindsay has sited being at an insufferable white collar business event to which he thought to himself “i wanna kill everyone here” which lead him down a psychological psychopath rabbit hole and how seemingly normal people can turn out to be killers. Yeah he did a bunch of researched and interviewed a bunch of criminal psychologists and sat down with killers too but it still remains there is no actual credible link between the brazilian guy and the television Dexter.
Jeff Lindsay in multiple interviews says that Dexter doesn’t mean anything it’s just a bunch of books who cares. but yeah i just hate seeing screen rant or any of those push out an article at all costs websites that don’t do any actual research other than an initial google

As someone who watched Dexter during her high school years, it feels so fucking good to watch Dexter: Original Sin as adult. And they absolute delivered it with the first episode !!! It feels so good to hear the opening credits, to see Patrick Gibson killing it as young Dexter, to see Debra cursing her fav word, to see Masuka being so annoying with his laugh…
10/10
