Hereās my first entry for logince week, for the prompt āstarsā. I think theyād enjoy stargazing together! Also put in a lil something special - thatās a real constellation called Phoenix, visible in the Southern Hemisphere. I think the Phoenix mythology is very applicable to both Roman and Logan in their own way. For Logan, I see it as the expression of the fire heās been feeling he needs to suppress in favor of being just pure Logic and nothing more, which we now see slowly returning. For Roman, I think the last few episodes have really knocked him down and feeling like heās lost a part of who he is as Creativity, and part of the finale will be him re-evolving into something bigger and better than ever. Their journeys are both very individual and very similar, and thatās a huge part of why I love exploring their storytelling dynamic together.
(also tumblr graphics killed the photo quality I'm kinda annoyed about that)

Art of Aardman
I found myself a cheap copy of the Shaun the Sheep movie, so I was rewatching a bunch of Aardman films earlier this month and decided to hunt down some books too. For anyone that doesnāt know, Aardman is a British stop-motion studio that does fantastic work like Wallace and Gromit, Shaun the Sheep, Chicken Run, Early Manā¦ tons of cool stuff. Theyāre always quirky and funny and warm-hearted. This was just a very nice art book for anyone thatās a fan of Aardman stop motion and wants to see a bit extra; it shows some cool concept art and blows up the neat details in Aardman work, especially in their intricate stuff like The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists!
Asterix and the Picts (Asterix and the Chariot Race, and How Obelix Fell Into The Magic Potion)
I decided to try a couple of the new Asterix comics that were done by the new team, just to see if they stand up to the old ones (that and How Obelix Fell Into The Magic Potion cause Iād never read that one before). They were pretty decent! Asterix and the Picts was my favourite of the two though I wouldnāt say either are going to contest for my favourite Asterix comic... but still! The art looks good and the stories felt like what I would expect, they made for a pleasant couple evenings of reading especially since itās been so long since Iāve read a new Asterix comic. If youāve never read Asterix itās one of the biggest name French comic series in North America, as far as I know and very worth the read. Itās about a single Gaulish village thatās holding out against the invading Romans through sheer force of will, slapstick hijinks, and a magical super-strength potion brewed by their druid. Lots of fantastic visuals and cute wordplay, even in the English translations.
Bear
I found out about this bastion of Canadian literature via tumblr post that was losing its collective mind over the fact that some bizarre bear-based erotica novella somehow won the most prestigious literary prize available in Canada. Since I too found this hilarious and unspeakably bizarre I had to give it a read, obviously. And yes, the flat surface level summary is... a librarian moves out into rural Ontario and falls in love with a literal for-real not-supernatural-not-a-joke bear. And I have to sayā¦ it is actually worthy of an award, which I was not expecting given that I was there for a laugh. It has beautiful writing, and the subtextual story is pretty interestingā¦ it kind of makes me think of The Haunting of Hill House actually in terms of themes. (Womanhood, personhood, independence, autonomy partially achieved through escaping the male gaze by claiming non-human lovers... listen if I were still in university I would right a paper comparing the two novels).
I dunno man, itās fucking weird. Actually a well-written book, but sure is about a woman falling in love with a literal bear. Give it a read if you want something bonkers but likeā¦ high-brow bonkers.
Hunger Pangs: True Love Bites
Best book I have read in likeā¦ a while. A long while. I am not a fast reader, and I consumed 90% of this book over a weekend. Itās not at all like Terry Pratchett, but at the same time it scratched an itch for me that I havenāt had satisfied since Pratchettās death. A very clever, hilariously funny poly romance between a disabled werewolf, an anxious vampire lord, and an incredibly powerful woman, with heaps of social satire, political commentary, and sinister undertones. The whole thing reads a bit like fanfiction and I say that in the most flattering way possible -- it is so easy to jump right in and be immediately taken over by the characters and the world and the plot, you never feel like youāre fighting to engage even though the world-building is fascinating and expansive. It welcomes you in right away, it was the book equivalent of a quilt and a hug which is something I sorely needed with all this pandemic bullshit. If you read any of the books on this list, go read that one while I sit here in pain waiting for the sequel.
Kid Paddle
I watched the cartoon of Kid Paddle as a kid and was thinking about it recently, so I decided to hunt down some of the original comics online. Theyāre fun and weird, with a cute art style and fantastic monsters designs. (My favourites are always about Kid either daydreaming or playing games that involve Midamās weird warty troll creatures. Itās like a cross between Calvin and Hobbes and Foxtrot with the fun sort of quirks that I love in Belgian comics. Unfortunately, unlike Asterix, Iāve only come across these ones in French, but if you can read French itās totally worth popping over to The Internet Archive and reading the ones they have available.
The Last Firehawk: The Golden Temple
The lastest Firehawk book. Despite being written for quite young readers, I did enjoy the early books in this series quite a bit. Theyāre about a young owl and squirrel who found an egg for a magical species that was believed to be extinct. With the newly hatched firehawk, the three of them head off on a mission to find an ancient firehawk magic that could save the entire forest. Very basic adventure story but a good intro to the tropes for children. Unfortunately the quality really feels like it drops with each subsequent book; this will probably be the last one I bother reading.
Lumberjanes: The Moon Is Up
I honestly think I enjoy these Lumberjanes novels even more than the comics just because it really gives time to delve into each story and examine how the camper are really thinking and feeling about everything. (Also Iām always weak for novelizations of anything.) The Moon Is Up is a book that focuses more on Jo, and takes place during the campās much anticipated Galaxy Wars, a competition between cabins that goes over several days. While the campers prepare for these challenges though, they also run into a strange little creature with a penchant for cheese and theft. Roanoke cabin needs to keep ahead in Galaxy Wars and somehow deal with the fearsome Moon Pirates that a closing in...
Lumberjanes v4 (Out Of Time)
One of the Lumberjanes comics, a cool, girl-focused, queer comic series. Honestly, this is just a fun series that I never got as into as I should have. My advice is honestly to skip book one because it gets better as it continues, and Iāve really been enjoying the later books now that Iāve given it another go. It follows five campers at Miss Qiunzella Thiskwin Penniquiqul Thistle Crumpetās Camp for Hardcore Lady Types (Jo, April, Molly, Mal, and Ripley) as they handle all sorts of challenges, from friendship to crushes, camp activities to supernatural horrors, getting badges to not being brutally killed. Great if you liked the vibe of Gravity Falls but want it to be queer-er.
Mooncakes
Another queer graphic novel, but unfortunately not a very good one. It really looked appealing and I had high hopes, but the book itself really didnāt hold upā¦ I actually couldnāt even finish it, the plot was just tooā¦ non-existent. The art is fairly mediocre once you actually look at it, especially backgrounds, and it feels veryā¦ placid. Not much conflict or excitement or even a very compelling reason to keep reading. If you just want a soft queer supernatural you may get more mileage out of it than me, but it didnāt really do it for me. Thereās better queer graphic novels out there.
New Boy In Town
One of the worst books I have ever read. My girlfriend had ordered a very different book online but through a frankly stupendous error was sent this 1980s pulp romance instead. Absolutely nauseating on levels I couldnāt even begin to enumerate here. Naturally we read the whole thing out loud. Probably took us 10 times longer to finish than it warranted because I had to stop every two sentences to lose my mind. If you like bad decisions, baffling hetero courting rituals, built-in cultural Christianity without actually calling it that, and gold panning then boy howdy is this the book for you.
(seriously, you better have patience for gold-panning if you attempt this one, because I sure learn that I donāt)
Piggies
This was a picture book I enjoyed as a kid and had a reason to reread recently. Honestly itās just very cute and simple, and the art is completely mesmerizing. Wonderful if you know a young child that would enjoy a simple goofy boardbook.
Shaun the Sheep: Tales From Mossy Bottom
Related to my Aardman fascination earlier this month. I tried reading a varieties of Shaun the Sheep books ā most of which are mediocre at best ā but the Tales From Mossy Bottom Farm series is genuinely good. Just chapter books, of course, but the illustrations match the seriesā concept art and each story feels like it could have jumped directly out of an episode. Theyāre just cute and feel-good! Kinda like Footrot Flats but more for kids, and from the sheepās perspective moreso than the dogās.

(Original meme)
Pre-trials Eskel had heterochromia. I'm not entirely decided on the colours yet, but probably one green, one brown.
This was considered lucky or some kind of good sign in his home village, making his loss sting that much more.
At Kaer Morhen, some of the older witchers discussed (and bet on) whether or not he'd have different colour witcher eyes post-trials. He did not, and Vesemir was a little richer that day.
Due to his long life and fuzzy early memories, Eskel doesn't personally remember having heterochromia, just being told that he did. Same with Geralt. Vesemir remembers best, if only because it lead to him winning a substantial bet

Psycho Goreman more like...
āGee, this live-action Lilo & Stitch sure is dark!ā
And I say that in a good way because this movie is a gift. Psycho Goreman is the movie where that āI donāt care for hunky boys! ...or do I?ā clip is from. Itās basically dark B-movie Lilo & Stitch, and itās so wonderfully ridiculous in that way only B-movie-style can achieve. A chaotic little girl lead, a terrible galactic warlord, no one side is truly right, dramatic betrayals...*chefās kiss*
A warning though that there are some pretty graphic moments. Heās called Psycho Goreman for a reason. On the one hand, the special effects are B-movie low-budget, but on the other hand, whatās happening is still pretty intense. I had to cringe my way through some scenes. So be aware of low-quality but still graphic body horror, heads exploding, etc.
So Iām categorizing this as āsomething kinda dumb but also great that you can just turn the brain off and be entertained byā. And donāt we all need movies like that?

Did you ever make that joker tier list, I always like seeing what people think of all the different ones. Though if they put Romero last I can no longer respect them.
LMAO I DID! I think Iāve made it kind of obvious in this blog but I... donāt... particularly... care... for... the joker.... unless heās, yļæ½ļæ½know, fun to watch. Cause heās a clown, and clowns are supposed to be entertaining. But since you politely brought it up, and and because I have a deep respect for mutual Romero-lovers, I guess this would be a good time to explain my rankings and just discuss my general thoughts on each clown:
General Thoughts:
For the most part, I donāt really care for the Joker. This is hardly an uncommon opinion here on tumblr, but I definitely fall on the side of the fandom that feels that he gets too much attention from DC. I get WHY they use him so often for films and comics, and I donāt have anything against *most* folks who consider them their favorite Batman villain, but at this point heās used more for shock value and as a crutch instead of anything interesting. Like, instead of giving attention to the other Rogues, writers (at least for the comics) will try and make up some bullshit story that they can shoehorn the Joker into, ācause it sells. Itās tiring, and I feel like the character has lost his meaning; I can only read so many stories about the Joker, I donāt fucking know, wearing a suit made from dead babies and Jason Toddās flayed corpse before I get sick of it.
Iām at the point where Iāll like any Joker whoās just fun to watch. I genuinely respect those who prefer darker interpretations of the character, but that isnāt me; I vastly prefer the lighthearted takes on him, because... at this point... writers who use theĀ ācleanerā version of him tend to be more creative, since they actually have to write a Joker story that doesnāt rely on gore/torture porn.
TIER ONE:
Joker Baby:Ā Self explanatory. Joker Baby is thematic, thoughtful, and intense. Everytime I watch this video, I shiver with fear and pleasure; something primal in me awakens whenever Joker Baby runs his fingers through his spray-on dyed hair, and ends up smearing green paint on his forehead- it represents the inner turmoil, the chaos, that resides within the disturbed body that is Joker Baby. Nothing can ever hope to top the artistic and cultural impact Joker Baby has had on society.
TIER TWO:
Batman Ninja: I genuinely believe that Batman Ninja is one of the most fun, organic, and creative things to come out from the Batman side of DC comics in like... hmmm... a decade, maybe (I could talk for hours about how much I love this movie but thatās something for a future post). This Joker is easily, and unironically my favorite interpretation of the character, period. I love his energy, his design, everything. This is the most fun Iāve ever had watching a Joker on-screen, and for that Iāve gotta give the film credit where it is due.
BatmanĀ ā66: I looooove Caesar Romero. BatmanĀ ā66 in general is one of my favorite pieces of Batman media, and I absolutely adore this Joker. The show is pure, genuine fun, and itās nice to turn my brain off and watch a show where the entire cast was allowed to goof around. This Joker is just a cute, goofy little clown-man who likes to commit crimes, go surfing, turn Gothamās water reserve into gelatin, and have wild orgies with Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler. I massively appreciate the hustle. I love his little mustache and his facial expressions. Iād give him a chaste little kiss on the cheek if I could.
The Batman: EXTREMELY CONTROVERSIAL TAKE BUT. I think TB!Joker is better than what people will give him credit for. I can only imagine how stressful it must have been to be the first Batman cartoon to follow BTAS and the writers for this show knew they were gonna be fucked no matter what they did with the Joker, so they just decided to try something completely different with him. Personally, I appreciate the new direction- he has a fun, unhinged energy. Iāve placed him higher than BTAS/BTNA!Joker simply because The Batman was the show that got me into the Rogues in the first place, and Iām just a bit closer to this Joker because of it. Also his vampire form was cool as FUCK in Batman Vs. Dracula and the scene where he gets drenched in blood at a blood bank is fucking awesome.
Batman the Animated Series/The New Adventures: Everyone loves BTASās Joker, and Iām no exception. Mark Hamill is fucking great, and the writers clearly knew the character well enough to create a version of him that can be fun and threatening. As an aside, I unironically like his redesign in BTNA- I remember Hamill mentioning somewhere that he thought it was neat that this Joker looked more like a shark (Iāll see if I can find a source on that... I think he said it in an interview with Kevin Smith?) and I kinda agree with him. the redesigns in the final season are hit or miss, but I didnāt get why so many people bitched about the Jokerās new look.
Batman Unlimited: Hear me out... Hear me out... Clown... funny... and cute... He wears a little crown and gives Solomon Grundy a little smooch on the cheek and it is as delightful as it sounds. Yes the Batman Unlimited films literally only exist to sell toys but that doesnāt mean I canāt enjoy them on some ironic level.
TIER THREE:
Lego Batman: Heās a gay icon. He has the range. Enough said.
White Knight: This is just a genuinely good, original take on the character, and the art in White Knight is absolutely gorgeous.Ā
Arkham: My friends and I joke that this Joker is basically a more unhinged version of BTAS! Joker and... yeah. Iām glad Hamill and Paul Dini got to fuck around with the character more, but I never really dwelled on the Joker parts of the games like I might have for other characters. I definitely liked him the most in Arkham Asylum, as he was more fun to watch. Arkham City was fiiiiine, but I think I replayed the game so much that I kinda got fatigued with everything about it. Genuinely hated his part in Origins, and I was pissed that he stole the attention from Black Mask and Bane (whoās the best fucking part of Origins IMO). Iāll admit that I... Havenāt... played... Knight yet (I have it on PC but my laptop is too wimpy to run it) but like... Heās dead at that point, so Iād assume he isnāt the main point of that game anyway. I love Mark Hamill and the fact I can personally beat the shit out of this Joker, so heās ranked up pretty high for those reasons.
TIER FOUR:
BatmanĀ ā89: TBH this Joker should be a rank higher, but Iām too lazy to hop onto PicsArt to change it. NIcholson was an excellent choice, and I apprecaite how this Joker makes use of the playful and unhinged aspects of the character. Also, his outfits are cute, and I love the museum scene.
Brave and the Bold: Technically this Joker SHOULD be ranked higher since heās literally based on the more lighthearted comics in the 60ā²s but... ehhh... I havenāt really watched BATB so I donāt have any strong opinions on the show and how it handles the character. heās ranked this high through beause I appreciate what they were going for.
Golden Age: The quality of comics are always subjective, based on the creative team behind them. Some Iāll like more, others less so, Itās kind of hard to rank the pre-52 comic version of the Joker because of this.
TIER FIVE:
Killing Joke: Read it, didnāt care for it. I acknowledge how massive the impact this comic had on... everything, but just because I recognize how important this graphic novel is, doesnāt mean I have to like it.
The Dark Knight: Ledger did an excellent job with the role, but uhh... Iām kind of sick of the alt-right chuds who are out there sucking this Jokerās dick. The fanbase definitely ruined the character for me.
TIER SIX:
99ā²: Eh
Endgame: No
Suicide Squad: NO
Death of the Family: Hate him. Despise him. Lame stupid dumb little edgy bitch.
Gotham (Jeremiah): I donāt particulary care for Gotham in general, but the only reason I ranked this Joker over Jerome is beause I thought it was kinda funny to see that they made him a little rat-man, and I liked watching all the fujoshi on here cry and complain that they canāt ship this version of the joker with the pre-pubescent Bruce Wayne in the show bc heās too ugly.
Gotham (Jerome): stop shippping this freak (who is fuckingĀ eighteen years old) with a literal twelve year old child. what the FUCK is wrong with yall.
UNRANKED:
The Joker (2019): I donāt plan on watching this film, nor will I ever. I know this is ironic, coming from someone who runs a Rogue blog, but stuff that focuses primarily on a characterās deteriorating mental health makes me reaaaaallllllyyyyy anxious (itās kind of a phobia) and considering that I donāt particularly the Joker, I have no reason to watch something I know will only give my dumb ADHD-ass intrusive throughts.
#tier list#this was nice to finally write out- I don't typically write Joker stuff unless someone prompts it#the joker#gonna tag this as discourse just to hopefully keep it out of ppl's feed#bc i know how... defensive... joker fans... can get...#discourse#long post

Tumblr hasn't changed much but I don't care enough to retrieve my password for my new laptop. I'm replacing my phone soon as well so this could be my last post in a while.
But like my last one was a year ago so go figure.
So to be blunt, depression hit me hard. It hasn't weighed down on me this bad since college and the seasonal depression hasn't even started cause that hits me through Dec-March in waves.
I need a therapist but live in the worst county in the state to find one virtually who is lgbt and poc friendly. Also non-religious.
Also my schedule was switched over so my usual day off in the week flipped and I'm also transitioning to work at home so too many changes at once to settle for an appointment time.
But like, I'm suicidal again. I'm slipping. I have no one to tell. My mom would just pray and blame herself. My sister has her own issues. Work friends are strictly work friends for me. My boyfriend kinda just floats there and I don't like weighing him down with my mental health drama.
I blame Legion. I hate shows with graphic depictions of suicide attempts. I normally don't come across vivid attempts in the media I watch. When two depictions came up one after the other in Legion and then they played it off as a joke. A haha funny moment, shes been trying to kill herself to be free but she can't cause she's trapped and already dead. I think that hit me.
I've been on this depression wave since October and it was normal depression shenanigans until I watched that.
Life is extra stressful this year too. Covid is pretty bad where I live. I've been on the waitlist since July to work from home. They've been dangling it in my face like a carrot. Work has been so fucking stressful. We hired a ton of new people and its helped in the last few days but once their shift is over, its a shit show again. I have no idea how we're gonna solve it cause its a huge fraud issue thats out of our control and the clients are fuming. Its one thing after another. Literally a new massive issue every week. Then there's my mom who voted for Trump and believes in all the insane conspiracy theories. I fucking hate it. I love her but I can't stand talking to her for more than 10 minutes.
I'm losing my mind.
My ex won't leave me alone and I'm too overwhelmed to have the time to have a heart to heart with him because he made it clear he may never leave me alone. Thats the least of my worries.
My boyfriend is oblivious. Love him, but my love languages are physical touch and quality time so in a long distance relationship that doesn't quite work out. I know talking to him works. He responds well to constructive criticism but a lot of it can't be helped in our situation.
Its just weird transitioning from a relationship where I was with my partner nearly every day for 5 years and then to one where its almost the opposite.
I could tell him about all of this but like, what could he do? Like what could he even do if we were physically together?
Its all on me which is super bad because I'm so irresponsible with myself when I'm depressed. I only can keep up with work and Oz. Thats my maximum for quality engagement.
I feel doomed. Panicky and doomed.
But it'll pass. I've always made it before. It's just waiting it out and constantly distracting myself or reminding myself that its alright.

Good Omens: A Study in Comedy
A couple years ago in my senior year of high school, my English teacher had told us for our last essay of the year, to pick any novel by any notable author, and write about it. I picked Good Omens cause i happened to be reading it at the time, but this essay was legit the most fun Iāve ever had writing an essay. I figured with the show coming out at @neil-gaiman being on tumblr, I might as well post it here were people might enjoy it.
Its about why Good Omens is successful as a comedy. Itās kinda long so itās gonna go beneath a cut. But yeah here it is. (Also apologies for the formatting I cant figure out how to make this thing readable. rn it looks a lot better on desktop than mobile. Any suggestions on that are welcome)
---
In the world of entertainment-- be that film, TV, literature, etc. -- comedy is hard. Itās hard to act, itās hard to write, and it takes real talent to do comedy well. Often, comedy goes underappreciated in the professional world; however, Good Omens seems to be an exception. In writing the forward to their book, Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman describe the many well-read and deteriorating copies of Good Omens that they have had the pleasure of signing. From books dropped in bathtubs and puddles, to pages being held together by packing tape, clearly, the book is well loved by many. The unique quality of this novel is that rather than a ālaugh-out-loudā humor, Pratchett and Gaiman aimed for a more subtle, ironic humor adding up to a satire that teaches a lesson on the importance of humanity and compassion. All in all, Good Omens is a delightfully witty and entertaining book that is sure to please any avid reader.
---
Biography
It was the year 1989 when Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett decided to combine efforts in writing Good Omens. At the time, Gaiman was 29. He was born in Hampshire UK in 1960 and grew up frequently visiting his local library, developing a life-long love for reading. After briefly pursuing a career in journalism, he soon became interested in writing comic books. The Sandman is one of Gaimanās most notable graphic novel works. It won several awards including three Harvey Awards, nine Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, and the 1991 World Fantasy Award for Best Short Story, becoming the first comic to every receive a literary award. Ā After gaining this success, Gaiman has gone on to expand his resume by working in film and television. Heās written and directed two films: A Short Film About John Bolton (2002) and Statueque (2009). Most recently, Gaiman is writing for the television series adaption of his book, American Gods, set to premier on April 30, 2017 on Starz.
Gaimanās writing companion, Terry Pratchett, was born in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire in 1948. He had a passion for writing from a young age, publishing his first story, āThe Hades Businessā in his school magazine at age thirteen. Four years later at age seventeen, Pratchett dropped out of school to pursue journalism. It was in this line of work that he came into contact with his first publisher, Colin Smythe, and through him published his first book in 1971, The Carpet People. Smythe remained a close friend of Pratchett and in 1983 published the first book of Pratchettās phenomenally successful series: Discworld. At this time, Pratchett worked for the Central Electricity Generating Board as a press officer. Four books into his Discworld series, Pratchett decided to become a full time writer. After a long and successful career, unfortunately in 2007 Pratchett was diagnosed with a rare form of Alzheimerās called Posterior Cortical Atrophy. He lived the last years of his life very well; in 2009, he was knighted by the Queen for his services to literature and in 2013 he presented a documentary discussing the controversial topic of assisted dying. Terry Pratchett: Choosing to Die won both an Emmy and a BAFTA. Despite campaigning for assisted dying, Terry did not choose to take his own life and died peacefully surrounded by family in March 2015.

Extended Analysis
The comedy collaboration Good Omens has been deemed by many to be a great novel. Critics praise the unique blend of writing styles for making this novel a success, but to understand what makes the comedic genius of Good Omens, one must ask what precisely makes it funny. This novel is a satire; it comments on existentialist ideas surrounding humanity and the responsibility humans have over their own actions for better or for worse. In order to emphasize their novel as an unexpectedly witty and socially relevant satire, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett use several literary devices such as repetition, mood, and irony. In a remarkable world belonging to angels and demons who wish to bring about the apocalypse, the air of abnormality must be maintained throughout the novel; comedy only follows naturally.Ā Ā
In order to emphasize the absurdity of the events in Good Omens, the authors often used repetition in describing people or events. Given that this book revolves around the events of Armageddon, absurdity is not hard to come by; it is precisely what enforces the satire nature of the novel. For instance, the Antichrist is first described to the reader as āa golden haired male baby we will call the Adversary, Destroyer of Kings, Angel of the Bottomless Pit, Great Beast that is called Dragon, Prince of this World, Father of Lies, Spawn of Satan, and Lord of Darknessā (Gaiman 27). Not only does the baby have this long list of titles, but he is referred to as such several more times in the next few pages. This description is a means to bring attention to the oddness of the situation and the repetition serves to emphasize it. Another interesting use of repetition is a scene in which the events of the evening are being narrated by an irritable man named R. P. Tyler; a man who not only believes himself to be the sole decider of right and wrong in the world, but that it is his responsibility to pronounce his wisdom unto others via the letter column of the Tadfield Adviser. This man is the epitome of arrogant old men and on the afternoon of Armageddon, finds himself directing several parties of odd people to the same location. In the eyes of the reader, all of the characters introduced thus far are arriving to the small English town of Tadfield for the start of the apocalypse. The events are rumored to take place at the Lower Tadfield Air Base and in succession, R. P. Tyler encounters four groups of people going to the Airfield within a span of 30 minutes (Gaiman 325-336). The result is a comedic effect that brings all separate storylines back to the same page. The repetition of events is what brought to R. P. Tylerās attention to the odd occurrences in Tadfield. As the man met group after group, he quickly becomes more flustered and his figurative bubble of normality is cracking until Crowleyās arrival: āThere was a large once-black car on fire in the lane and a man in sunglasses was leaning out the window, saying through the smoke āIām sorry, Iāve managed to get a little lost. Can you direct me to the Lower Tadfield Air Base? I know itās around here somewhereāā (Gaiman 334). One can safely say that after this event, R. P. Tyler no longer has a figurative bubble of normality.
---
One of the highlights of Good Omens is the comical language in which it is written, setting an air for the absurd to be normalized and the mundane to receive an exaggerated retelling. An ambiance of abnormality is maintained throughout the entire novel through methods of over-explaining minute details. For instance, as the first proceedings of Armageddon are set into motion, the scene is set with the following depiction:
āIt wasnāt a dark and stormy night. It should have been, but thatās the weather for you. For every mad scientist whoās had a convenient thunderstorm just on the night his Great Work is finished and lying on the slab, there have been dozens whoās sat around aimlessly under the peaceful stars while Igor clocks up the overtimeā (Gaiman 14).
This description of the setting contributes to a lighthearted mood despite the impending apocalypse. It feels as though the authors are making polite conversation as the story progresses, and this style of writing is used throughout the novel. Later on, a scene occurs in which a demon kills a room full of telemarketers and the aftermath is described as follows: ā. . . a wave of low-grade goodness started to spread exponentially through the population and millions of people who ultimately would not have suffered minor bruises of the soul did not in fact do soā (Gaiman 308). The elegance in which that sentence is written gives the reader a sense of understanding in that the authors are not technically wrong in their description. The line is satirical and for many readers, felt on a personal level. The witty line does not fail in upholding the absurd and exceedingly nonchalant atmosphere. This style brings to light underlying truths of humanity that one may not acknowledge in a day to day basis, but are true nonetheless. Through this recognition of distinctly human emotions and struggles, Gaiman and Pratchett succeed in creating an engaging environment in which the reader is both reflective and entertained by their story.
---
The irony in Good Omens lies within the ongoing discussion of humanity and the importance of free will. As Heaven and Hell prepare for Armageddon, the key to its commencement lies in the hands of the Antichrist. However, the Antichrist ends up being much more human than either side predicted. As usual, the demon Crowley and angel Aziraphale come to this conclusion long before their superiors:
āāBecause if I know anything,ā said Crowley urgently, āitās that the birth is just the start. Itās the upbringing thatās important. Itās the influences. Otherwise it will never learn to use its powers.ā . . .
āYouāre saying the child isnāt evil of itself?ā [Aziraphale] said slowly.
āPotentially evil. Ā Potentially good, too, I suppose. Just this huge powerful potentiality, waiting to be shaped.ā said Crowleyā (Gaiman 58).Ā Ā
Given that Adam the Antichrist grew up in the absence of any supernatural influence, he naturally became a very pure and innocent child who only wanted save the environment and read conspiracy theory magazines. In fact, unaware of his power and heritage, he was involuntarily at fault for the rise of Atlantis and the visitations of aliens. His deep love for the planet also allowed for his subconscious to grow rain forests in the thick of cities and to turn 500 tons of Uranium into a lemon drop. In a book that satirizes the meanings of good and evil, it is very ironic that the Antichrist has the greatest amount of love to give. As observed by local witch, Anathema: āSomething or someone loves this place. Loves every inch of it so powerfully that it shields and protects it. A deep-down, huge, fierce love. How can anything bad start here?ā (Gaiman 229). It is reiterated several times throughout the book that humans are their own worst enemy. They are the ones who have free will, therefore they choose whether to act good or evil. Demons and angels have no choice in this respect. Gaiman and Pratchett make clear to their audience that humans must value their free will, spread love and live life to its fullest. If the Antichrist can do it, so can you.
---
When reflecting on the comedic success of Good Omens, one can conclude that Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett are masters at their craft. This wonderfully composed work of fiction succeeds in satirizing the inner workings of human nature in that the supernatural can do no worse to humans than humans already do to themselves. Stylistically, Gaiman and Pratchett create a casual environment that highlights the absurd events by using techniques such as irony, mood, and repetition. The result is a clever and profound lesson on the importance of love in the human experience taught not by those who are human, but those who act with the most humanity.

Artist Name: Edie
Genres: Indie Pop, Indie Rock, Emo, Lo-Fi, Pop Rock, Bedroom Pop, Alternative
Similar Artists: The Promise Ring, Park Ave., The Juliana Theory, Bright Eyes, Avril Lavigne, The Hush Sound, The Get Up Kids, November Blessing, ... wait, why do you want other artists? You should be listening to THIS ONE!
Bio: The Scenecore community on Tumblr is something I'm really thankful to be involved with. When I'm not saying dumb stuff, making bad decisions, breaking down and losing what little of my crumbling sanity and emotional stability I have left it's really nice to reblog some blingees of pop rock bands from the 2000s and a glittery Monster Energy Drink logo completely unironically. I feel like there's something really admirable about people trying to revisit the 2000s Myspace Emo-Scene (or scemo, if you will) trend but taking it back and leaving behind a lot of the more problematic and toxic aspects of it. I feel like a lot of good people came together and made a welcoming, friendly community of acceptance. But something I've always hoped would come out of this was someone being inspired by this wave of nostalgia and make something new. We're a massively nostalgia based community. We're nostalgic for old fashion, old bands, old internet trends and old graphics. Hell, even this blog was founded on the idea of revisiting the forgotten emo-scene artists from the MySpace days. That's all fine and good but sometimes you want to see something new, pure, from the heart and completely independent. To be an actual scene revival, we need someone to really revive it. And that's exactly what I found.
Boys and girls, cats and squirrels, meet the musician you've all been waiting for. Edie. This is the music project of @xx-fangz-up-2006-xx who I've been mutuals with for some time now, even back on old accounts of mine as well. Back in May of this year on the 11th, Edie put out a demo on her YouTube channel, Edie! At The Disco. The song is called āYou Left Meā. It's a song about an unfaithful partner leaving her for someone else who'll likely have a similar experience. This demo was very rough but still full of heart. It was actually quite refreshing to hear.
A post on Tumblr revealed that Edie intended on writing more material. Originally Edie planned on making a full length album, but Edie instead settled with an EP set to come out a couple of months later. On October 24th she put up a new single called āGenuine Tearsā and a remastered version of āYou Left Me.ā Although remastered, the independent, lo-fidelity quality vibe is still present. It just felt more... complete this time around. Then finally on November 3rd, the EP "Made With Blingee" came out. It featured āYou Left Me,ā āGenuine Tears,ā and two new songs called "I Can See You In The Fog" and "Dream Person." Attached to the EP is this description:
"This EP is all my bottled negative emotions about people that i've had stored up in me for a very long time. All dressed up in pink, glitter and kandi, ready to kill you with a Hello Kitty knife. I hope you enjoy."
I don't think I could sum up Edie's music any better than she did herself but Iāll do my best to describe what I heard. It's very 2000s emo inspired but also reminiscent to independent MySpace pop music like The Perfect Measure, early Never Shout Never, or November Blessing and from my personal observations, even a bit of a Midwest Emo vibe to it. On the poppier side, mind you. Think The Juliana Theory or The Promise Ring. It sounds very humble and non-pretentious. It's stripped down, heartfelt music at it's finest and something I don't really see a whole lot of people trying to make anymore. A lot of the time these days, especially in mainstream music, people overproduce their music to insane amounts to but with Edie the attention is carefully and lovingly placed on the music and the lyrics, making it very down to earth and relatable instead of generic radio-fare. Genuinely good music sounds good even if itās recorded on a potato and played with Fisher-Price instruments. Sometimes I tell people that I don't like pop music but that's actually not completely accurate of me. I like pop music when it's done RIGHT, and I really feel like this is an example of it being done right, done originally, and most importantly done for the right reasons.
What makes her music really unique is absolutely the quality of it. The songs are purposefully very minimal production-wise with a sort of Lo-Fi/Bedroom Pop vibe. It really helps to drive home the emotive aspects and the relatability. She's absolutely sold me on that because it works so great. The whole EP sounds like it was made by a mid-late 2000s emo-scene girl which was kinda the whole point of this EP in the first place. I feel like that's another goal met. It really does feel like a snapshot from a completely different time. It's a homage to a past era without being just a carbon copy of what other people were doing. I really feel like Edie has a ton of potential and a strong start. I'd love to see her make more music, perhaps even a full album someday.
I really hope you guys not only go listen to her music on Bandcamp but you actually buy the EP to support Edie monetarily. I think it's very important to support independent artists and with music this good it's so worth it. Iād really love to see where she goes from here. Edie, I sincerely want to thank you for introducing āediecoreā to the world and I hope this isn't the end of you musical journey.

Gamer Girls are kind of amazing. I mean am not saying all girl NEED to be gamers and it's far from a deal breaker for a relationship but having a Player 2 in the household is kind of amazing. I want to come home from work and find a pizza on the table and cutie with a booty sitting on the sofa in PJās waiting for me to join her in a game for a bit. Of course, the option of making it Netflix Night or something else is also welcome but I have been (for my whole life) a gamer since the original Sega system up to my custom built PC I use now. And I want to share that with her.
So for all you Game Girls and Wonderful Girlfriends who are willing to try new things to make your lover happy (or reverse relationships where your a Gamer Girl trying to get your Boyfriend or Girlfriend into games). I present you my Co-Op Date Night Video Game List.
Enjoy.
A Way Out
I admit I have not yet played this game but it looks damn good and reminds me a fair amount of Splinter Cell which appeals to me. From what I have seen the voice acting and graphics are on par with Grand Theft Auto and the gameplay seems very clean. Nothing like working together to break out of prison to bring us closer.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ? ? ? ? ? (No idea how hard this will be)
Diablo 1, 2, & 3
The Diablo series has always been a pretty basic point and click approach with spells on the hotkeys and some minor inventory management. As the games went on more playable characters unlocked with each new game. This game would be a fun side by side experience with two PCās playing as a male and female character out to kill the Devil himself.Ā
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Donāt Starve Together
The second game on the list I have yet to play. The animation reminds me of something from Tim Burton meeting Invader Zim. Despite the strangely clever art style, I like the concept of the game of running around resourcing to stay alive. This kind of co-op experience is about carrying your weight and working together.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ? ? ? ? ? (I won't ever let you go hungry before me)
Fortnite
I was playing Save the World setting of the game long before most players were hearing about the soon to be released PUBG. I don't know if that makes me cool or incredibly nerdy but probably both. This game is full of action and I prefer the build mode of the other Save the World Game mode which is where I would want to take you. Gathing supplies building a base, fighting a horde of zombies and winning.

āā (Iām not always ahead of the trends but when I do it was Fortnite)
Guitar Hero and Rock Band
An oldy but a goody! Guitar Hero and Rock Band both brought the concert into the family room. I loved those first games but really lost interest fast once the microtransactions pretty much dominated the last couple of games. Nothing like ruining a game by demanding another dollar for a song you like. Regardless of those failings, I would love to find another guitar and mic for us to play together. Donāt worry if you can't sing I can play bass and you can take lead. Slapping the bass man!

Heroes of the Storm
Heroes of the Storm is kind of a Blizzard grab bag exploring the DOTA setting. I can't imagine us playing this long term unless we REALLY get into the game and spend some pay to play cash to unlock some characters for her early on. I met a few girls in my life who played games like this and all of them have been amazing people, I hope to do this with my S.O. in the future.

Keep Talking Nobody Explodes
The only VR game on the list but a fun one that requires for two people to work together to defuse a bomb. The first person gets a binder full of paper to read off of and the other has the VR goggles on with the remotes waiting to defuse the bomb. I imagine if youāre really shit communicator this might be a hard game to play but then again it can help you work on that, canāt it?

Left 4 Dead 1 & 2
Simple enough to learn and control, the hard part is knowing when to save my ass from a smoker drag or engaging the zombies in an effective way that we don't get punched to death. There is always one female character to play as so you wonāt ever be without a lady to play as unless youāre one of those weird girls who likes Ellis. I donāt get it.

Lego Games
Far from challenging collection, Lego Games are known to be kid-friendly. Kid-friendly also means new gamer girlfriend friendly. I donāt mind getting silly with lego games to get you into gaming in general. Thus it sits on this list!
NOTE: Got tons of options like Jurassic Park, Batman, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, Pirates of Caribbean, and more...

Life is Strange
Apparently, this game is amazing and it operates like Telltale Games where choices matter. From my understanding, if you like Riverdale then this sort of plot is right up your alley, which is great for young women who love that show. I am more of a Sabrina fan myself but you do you.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ? ? ? ? ? (As seen on Tumblr!)
Mariokart
Mariokart is a game that can ruin relationships. I imagine I might sleep on the sofa if you blue turtle shell me at the end of the tace and your butt is something far lower then second place. I personally prefer the arena battles with the balloons but I am simply old school like that when I still had a third arm from my chest for the N64 console.Ā

Minecraft
Minecraft and the Sims are the only two games you can play without the other person being there and that being perfectly ok. I mean Sims you have to with it being single player but if you had an afternoon on Minecraft without me I wouldn't be angry with the progress you made. It really is a relaxing game unless youāre out at night and hear a sudden his sound that blows out the wall of your house.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Overcooked 1 & 2
Overcooked is an insanely fun game about cooking. It requires people to follow instructions and get into a flow of handling jobs in the kitchen. If done right it can be a really rewarding experience. If done wrong... well people start getting loud with one another.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Overwatch
This would be interesting, I know the female gamer community is growing and certain games have a draw. I pleasantly surprised that there seems to be a large number of gamer girls who enjoy Overwatch or maybe I am projecting the cosplay community. Either way, I want to be your Solider 76 and have you be my healer keeping me upright and fighting. Maybe I will dress up as your favorite male character later. *wink*
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

ā
ā (Tracer has a nice butt, there I said it)
Payday 1 & 2
Payday is a pretty forgiving game in the sense that the bank robbers are pretty much bullet sponges who are kind of hard to kill. The real fun is taking a bank without anyone knowing that we are doing it. With some fun female characters to play as I think we can have a good old time taking hostages and emptying vaults out together.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Portal 2
Portal is 1 part first-person shooter, 1 part logic puzzles and 1 part rewiring your brain to think in Portals. The game isn't very high stress but does require some skill for the later levels and some experience with first-person controls. I would save this game last for this list to make sure we are on par for ourĀ skillset to handle the struggle that is Portal 2.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā
ā
ā
ā
ā
(Teamwork makes the dream work)
Resident Evil 5 and Later
This game isn't really hard as it is the controls are kind of crap. The stand and shoot principal of Resident Evil really brought down the quality of the early games like the camera angles. That said it was an early co-op with the kinda cute interracial duo that makes you think (they be a hot couple). I kinda want to revisit this game along with some of the other later games and play with my lover once she is comfy enough playing video games with me.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā
ā
ā
ā
ā
(I got your back honey)
Stardew Valley
Stardew Valley is a really simple looking game that is surprisingly good by keeping you busy with well... busy work. One improvement to the game was the Multiplayer Update/Beta that allowed 2 people to work on a farm together. I really love the idea of building a home with my SO and playing side by side for an hour or so every day making our lives a little better, well in a digital sense.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā
ā
ā ā ā (Lets farm together boo)
State of Decay 2
We need to be ready for the inevitable zombie apocalypse. This game allows us to build our own survivor and explore a town, house by house raiding for supplies like ammunition, medicine, food, and so on. I think a little teamwork goes a long way in making us grow closer donāt you think?
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Super Smash Bros.
Anyone who knows me I have issues with Mario despite the fact he made this list twice. Super Smash Bros. gets a seat on this list mostly because of how user-friendly the game is and how fun 4 player co-op can be. I mean... if we were swingers on Date Night that fills the other two spots but since it's you and me we can smash all night long just the two of us.
Learning Curb for Significant Other ā

Telltale Games
Pretty much story time for couples whereĀ we sit down with some popcorn and take turns doing some minor walk around with characters and making quick story-altering choices together. Imagine the excited screams as we aren't sure which option to pick while playing the Walking Dead! There are so many Telltale Titles to consider playing from Game of Thrones, TWD, Batman, Guardians of The Galaxy, Fables, and Back to the Future so we wont be bored anytime soon.

The Sims
The Sims have been around since the late 90ā²s and captured the imagination of boys and girls across the country alike. While the game is not aĀ āco-opā per say managing a family together on one PC is doable and can be kind of rewarding. I just hope she doesn't remove the ladder by the pool and down my virtual avatar.

Honorable Mentions
Far Cry 5 - Not the best game but still gives us an open world to discover. Advanced players only.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands - Another open world game to fight the drug cartels. You can create a pretty cute female on this game too.
The Division - Do I have something against open world games? No just Ubisoft games that may be too hard for a new gamer to play.
Splinter Cell: Blacklist - Fuck I miss these games. Splinter Cell was the perfect Co-op Stealth game. We will revisit this one if we burn through the list.
Fable 3 - Chicken Chaser? Do you chase chickens? Fable was a memorable game but way to limited for the years it was being produced. I want to revisit this series soon.
Fallout 76 - Still pretty fresh but still Co-Op able. I have mixed feelings on the game but the character customization might be good for making ourselves in game.
Starcraft 2 - This game has a co-op hero mod perfect for building bases and completing missions. The learning curve is higher for strategy games but it makes the list for fun co-op.
Wrap Up
I scribbled most of these games down myself but when I decided to see what other games couples played, I was pleasantly surprised to find most of the games I wrote were also on their lists. I did cannibalize a few other online lists (such as Resident Evil 5, A Way Out and Donāt Starve Together) but most of my content was original thoughts on my end that other people also saw the potential in (honest to god it was the Overcooked game that inspired me to write this). I like to keep this post as a reminder to myself of what I want to do with my girlfriend or maybe one day my kids (assuming they want to be my player 2 and kill some zombies with their old man). Either way I can't wait to do either and I missed anything that you think should be on this list let me know.
As always thanks for reading.
Regards, Michael California

Writers Reflections: Tag Meme
I was tagged by @oathkeeperoxas my ultimate writing senpai uwu ā¤šā¤
Rules: answer the following questions about your own writing, whether fanfic or original. If you can't/don't want to answer a question, just put N/A. If you don't have that many posted works, tell us about your WIPs or individual chapters/drabbles or even your ideas! Then tag as many writers as you like :)
AO3 name and link, if applicable: angeltrumpets
What's your most popular fic, by whatever metric is most relevant to you (hits, kudos, comments, reblogs, some other trait)?:
By Any Other Name is the most popular on AO3, but it's the only fic of mine that isn't a oneshot and it's also a soulmate AU (Hdkn from TG) so that just kinda automatically makes it more popular than my other fics.
On tumblr tho, my most popular fic has easily been A Source of Warmth, which as of now has 87 notes. It's a Hdkn TG oneshot I posted when the fandom was at its peak in 2015, however about a year ago it got a bunch more notes like a sudden attention and idk why but it was unexpected that's for sure.
What's your favourite fic that you've written?
Hmmmmmm Dancing Fireflies is my favourite in terms of the context behind it and how much damn fun it was to write, because it's a crack fic, but treated seriously, which made it more fun to write, and I also like going back and reading it again. It's also the fic with the most entertaining comments.
What's your best fic, and is it different from your favourite fic?
Recurring Illusions. It's the most recent thing I've written. (Hdkn oneshot, angst, an excuse for me to never stop being owned by Chapter 136). It really does FEEL like my best fic, as in I had a really good feeling as I was writing it! I was doing a lot that I hadn't written before, and I worked really hard on it! It came out really good!
Unfortunately because the fic is tagged with Graphic Violence and Implied Character Death, not many people are clicking to read it, but I expected that. The Graphic Violence was actually one of the things that was new to me, because most of my writing is very.... hmm uneventful? Like nothing big happens in most of my oneshots. Whereas here it was like Im writing a scene where he's killing people or eating people here how does that get written. Especilly the eating. I am very proud of the eating part of the oneshot especially because I pushed myself to go further with it and not shy away from details. I also am proud of the choices I made when writing it to display what state of mind Kaneki was in at certain parts.
Do you have a fic whose popularity surprised you?
OMG YES!!??!! Coffee And Thieves!! It's my second most viewed and kudosed fic on AO3 and I'm ????? like I'm still lost!!!!! It was a secret santa fic I wrote of the Amon/Hide/Kaneki poly ship and its popularity confuses me for two reasons: 1) I had no idea this many people would be clicking on it and reading it because honestly it's a super rare ship especially being a poly ship and I wouldn't have even known of its existence if it weren't for who I was gifting the fic to! But apparently more people are looking to read the ship than I thought! And 2) quality of writing wise it's more simplistic than some of my other fics. Like it's just fluff and I know people like reading that but it also means there's less room to like... show-off writing capabilities, you feel? Altho again, it's not like people are looking for that when it comes to fluff.
Do you have a fic you wish more people would read?
THE WITCH'S SERVANT! It's easily the oneshot I spent the most time on like I posted it months after starting it because I spent so long getting it right and soooooooo many hours working it out. But yeah it got comparatively much less attention than my other Hdkn fics. But I am still proud of it because I worked really hard on it and I got to write up what I wanted, which was the play that Hide and Kaneki brought up in the series. I wanted to look more into that and write about it, because I had seen meta and theory writers talk about Hide and Kaneki's roles in that play in relation to their roles in the overall story of TG, so I tried to integrate a little of that meta into the fic. I also included dialogue from the unused draft from the last ep from Root A in the fic. So there was a lot I was putting in, and yeah while it's a shame it didn't get more attention, I'm still happy with it and proud of it.
Is there a ship or fandom you haven't written, but really want to?
I have been wanting to write Reigisa from Free since fckn 2014. Every year I have been like "This is the year I contribute to Reigisa Week" and then I don't. And since Ive been with the ship for a long time and seen a lot of it, I feel like I know the characters and ship dynamic well enough to be comfortable writing it. But yeah Ive never gotten around to completely writing anything. Ive started a few, but they had always ended up abandoned.
Tell us a random fact about your writing process:
Ok so Im slow as shit right, like my multichapter fic from earlier has 2 chapters written and I started the fic in March this year so lol i know slowness and going ages without writing is common with a lot of writers tho
Usually what gets me going is a song putting me in a mood. Often the song won't match the mood of the fic I'm writing, as it'll almost always be a more angsty emotional song that gets me motivated, even if what I'm writing is not emotional at all. It just makes me feel like I can get things out more easily and write more interestingly.
I also save my writing docs in dropbox so I can always add to it either on my laptop or phone whenever I feel like it and it's synced up, but it never really ends up that way because nothing happens when I try to write on my phone I'm rarely able to write without the laptop setup.
Tagging @akaaka04 because Red ur the only mutual who first came to mind when I was thinking of mutuals rn who write, anyone else I can think of I'm either not mutuals with or I don't know for sure if they write or not. Sorry if I'm forgetting someone

Week #59 Retrospective
Wow, Iāve been better about getting these done on time, but this weekend on Tumblr was pretty nuts.
There are a lot of games from my childhood, both owned and rented, that Iāve played on this project. Some of them held up pretty well compared to the modern day, and others... havenāt. Mickey Mania is sadly one of the latter. Like many other Disney games, it looks great, and I itās very technologically competent (by Jonās claim, the moose chase is the first towards-the-screen chase sequence in video game history), but that didnāt stop The Lion King from being one of the latter quality either.
While not all setpiece-focused games are bad (Gunstar Heroes comes to mind), the good ones manage some level of consistency in the areas between them such that the player doesnāt feel like only the way the developer wanted them to advance is the only way to advance (it might be, but it shouldnāt feel like it). Mickey Maniaās six stages (orĀ āfeaturesā as the manual calls it) are kinda all over the place. Level 1 is standard, with a couple enemies that both marbles and jumping can be used on. Level 2 is absurdly long, with a hundred different screens going every which way. Level 3 is super-short, features no enemies, and the ending chase features a needed item that gets no foreshadowing (the apples you need to collect to keep ahead of the moose). All the enemies in Level 4 are less enemies and more giant moving spikes due to being completely invincible, as well as aggravatingly placed. Level 5 brings standard enemies back (although whether or not you can kill the beetles is basically random), which means by level count, marbles are useless for a full third of the game. Level 6 is about as big as Level 2 and about as setpiece-heavy, if not more, but itās OK there, because itās the end of the game and not the second level.
The boss fights are also all over. Levels 1 and 2 both have bosses, while 3 has the chase which I guess could be a boss maybe? and Levels 4 and 5 have none (a chasing spider setpiece isnāt a boss, music) before having Pete as the boss of Level 6. So thereās a subverted expectation of bosses for about half the game.
The story itself also feels so weak it might have been better if there wasnāt a presented story at all. Mickeyās on his way to find his alternate selves and apparently fight the biggest, meanest Pete ever... despite there being only two Petes in the actual game. Despite the insistence of the level-end screens on telling us about how Mickey has found another Mickey, thereās no actual start to this plot. How the heck is Mickey in his original cartoons anyways? The Garfield Genesis game has a more coherent plot than this.
Itās supposed to feel like youāre playing through Mickeyās original cartoons, but I think I would rather be playing through a video game.
I understand a lot of people like this game, and there are people for which the graphical quality that Disney games on Genesis has and the impressive technological feats trump any accusations. Meanwhile, my only sacred cow is the original Rocky and Bullwinkle cartoon. My opinion is my opinion, and I will not discount the impressive things it did that blew peopleās minds back in 1994. But itās not 1994 anymore, itās 2018, and these days, Mickey Mania is probably better off watched than played.

hello >-< i wanna know if ur job is a graphic designer? bc u seem to post a lot on here and i feel like u have a lot of free time !! im asking this cause if u do have a job, how do u manage to post consistently? im trying to achieve that cause im losing followers :( thank you !
Hello! Unfortunately I don't have a job in graphic design (I wish I knew all the fancy stuff though lol). I actually work in the plasma donation industry as a trainer with possibly the most inconsistent schedule I've ever experienced in my entire life lmao
For general reblogging, I mainly just mass-like a bunch of posts I wanna reblog and then spend some time queueing them all up once I get a moment to breathe. That way my blog can stay consistent without me having to be glued to tumblr 24/7 (there was a time in my earlier years here where I did just that lol). Though sometimes I am simply just bored out of my mind at work and will scroll/like/reblog things.
About when I post my edits... I honestly just don't do much irl outside of work, or if I post a lot in a single day, I probably am not at work on those days and just trying to kill some time. Some things can take me a while (I've had an unfinished edit sitting in my drafts for probably a month now lol), other things don't take me too long because I already have my own kinda "style" that I use when coloring my gifsets and tend to default to that most of the time + lots of practice. Other things I make ahead of time and schedule them to post at a later date.
I think the latter option might be most helpful (I assume you are talking about making posts as someone who does edits). If you have a day where there's not much going on (or even if you find you just have some extra time on a typical day), try and see if you can make a handful of things and then just schedule them to post consistently. Of course, as editors we value the quality of what we make above all. But sometimes it's not so bad to just throw out something simple that only took a few minutes (my "random mikasa gifs" are an example of me just making smth for the sake of making smth lol).
TLDR; Queuing and scheduling are your best friends! ^_^
