Headcannons- Can you do Cassie(Mortal Kombat) x childish audhd reader who will pick up on anything heard and itll most likely become a vocal stim? One can be if someone said something bad and reader ended up picking up on it (Also not in an n$fw way but biting just to show affection, get attention, stim, etc)

i dont entirely feel comfortable writing a portrayal of either adhd or autism as a person whos childish, as a person with audhd myself whos gone being called that in a negetive conotation resulting in me not being taken seriously, but im more than happy to make a list of hcs for cassie reacting to the readers echolalia and other stims! so i hope this is okay!

chewing gum she shares it (if you have a chewing stim) and thinks its fun/cute when you echo back the pops after she blows a bubble. it causes her to break character when shes trying to be cool in the moment but she doesnt hold it against you.

insults and swearing she has a habit of cursing that she doesnt intent to break and she makes a lot of creative insulting comments during a fight, the kind to taunt her opponents and be cocky when she starts or wins a brawl. so when you echo back a phrase or word she uses she takes it as feedback for either how rediculous she sounded or how good of a line it was. this means she'll occaionally respond with "i'll workshop that one", "alright not my best", "yeah that sounded better in my head", or the ocasional smirk and chuckle. sometimes even feeling encouraged to make more insults to see which ones stick with you when you hear them. though she isnt sure how she feels when she hears you repeating her cursing.

bite of love shes gotten used to you biting her randomly. she'll tease you about it like calling you her little shark. "worried i'll run into trouble sharky?" knows better than to put her arm or hand near your face cuz you will bite her. but also isnt all that surprised if you come up and bite her anyway. if she needs her hand she'll give you a kiss on the head to return the affection.

earbud to earbud shares her headphones and music with you if you need sound input to stim. lets you pick the songs for a trip, probably has a playlist just for the two of you. she'll actually give you her earbuds and sit you down with her phone somewhere so you can have a moment to yourself if you get overstimulated

out of sight out of mind her adhd bounces off yours, something goes missing and you check with each other, you probably find each others things lying around and pick it up only to forget you have it until the other goes looking for it. "have you seen my gloves?" "yeah theyre in my bag" if she sees you get distracted and abandon one task for another she'll drop and forget her task to help with the task you just left out and it circles.

pacing she paces a lot when shes lost in thought so when she sees you pacing her first thought is you might be overthinking and not that youre stimming with movement.

fidgets she probably has fidget toys incase you need one, but also doesnt mind just giving you her hand or something of hers to fidget with. more often than not when youre holding hands youre actually playing with the fingerless gloves shes wearing.

My first drawing of them was November 5th (Which I guess could be considered their birthday.)

What they are wearing in some is a Old Diving Dress! aka deep sea diving suit! When on Metalbeard's Sea Cow they wear a Red bandana with a striped tank top tucked into their pants (Which I need to draw and colorr)

The green, blue, and red marks on their face was from crayons!!! they also have freckles :3

In TLM2 they wouldve brought back the Diving Dress (But replaced the Weighted boots with regular ones so they could walk on land.)

They were in the Navy (but what the Navy wouldve been in a kid's imagination.) Their crew basically abandoned them by accident and they were left in the sea for 3 years until Metalbeard (using his eyeglass thing) spotted them and took them aboard. They would take a liking to cleaning the Sea Cow (since it would keep them VERY BUSY) and they would be running around a lot trying to make the thing spotless! They would overwork themselves a bit. When fighting if beforehand they were cleaning they would fight someone with a wet mop.

What happen IRL was some kid was playing with their legos at a playground and when it was time to go home they dropped them under a bench by mistake. The playground had that blue rubber ground (which wouldve been the 'sea.') Quiye a few kids had found Snickerdoodle and played with them but they never left the playground until Finn had found them and placed them with Metalbeard.

Im still coming up with more for them in TLM2. They would be annoyed with the Apocalypse but not really hardened like the others since theyre quite delighted to be out of the sea.

They would be younger than how old I imagine Metalbeard to be but older than Benny. Also they would be a good piano player!

I heavily associate them with Dark Cabaret music since it was there original inspiration !!!

reasonings behind songs under the cut!

Sad Machine: "and though i know, since you awakened her again, she depends on you, she depends on you! she'll go alone, and never speak of this again, we depend on you, we depend on you [..] is anyone there? anyone else, anyone else, anyone else-" // this was the opening song on my Dominion Viking playlist! :D i will gladly take the opportunities to do musical callbacks.

History Repeating: "so then what to do when we know what's coming? stay and see it through, or start running? [..] over and over, i know i'm not alone here [..] don't say anything, i know where we've been, and i've got a feeling this is history repeating! when this crashes down i won't be around, 'cause i've got a feeling this is history repeating now!" // there's a time loop joke in here, obviously, what with "history repeating" being very literal. Navigator's involvement in all of this is... interesting? he's omniscient, he knows what's happening, but for once this isn't history repeating like it always has-- something has changed, and everyone needs to make a choice on what to do about it.

Just Hesitation isn't on Spotify, so i had to sub in the song it samples from. which still works! but the intention is for it to be Just Hesitation. i wrote a whole ramble about it as a song and why it has Navigator vibes for me. thanks for coming to my ted talk

Donderdag: [instrumental] // the thing with including instrumentals on these is it's really hard for me to explain why. there's no lyrics to point at and i'm not very articulate when it comes to explaining why instrumentals stand out to me. the vibes are there and it's a nice transition between Nostalgic Vibes and Hydrogenuine.

Radar: "trouble on a radar, just gonna fly right under!" // this was a contender for a tViking song (before Navigator was even a thing) but got dropped from the playlist early on. i think it's fun to bring it back for Nav considering him being the warning sign and the thing with tViking going under the radar.

Dreamcatcher: "close my eyes and i'm predictable, i'm invincible, for you [..] i'm afraid i'm not enough. I'M NOT ENOUGH! [..] circles, cycles, why do you torture me? dreamcatcher, i'm falling but not asleep!" // shoutouts to Solar for saying the worlds "circles, cycles" in chat during a Sapphire lore scene and this entire song playing in my head at 2x speed.

Don't Try - [Everything Everything Remix]: "the clock is ticking, meanwhile your life, your life is wasting [..] i know you mean a long time, saw your mask in the mirror, and you don't want to be here anymore [..] and yeah there's nothing alright, but you're here and you're glowing, so why you wanna keep it all inside? don't try to hide it!" // this is kinda where my characterization of Navigator starts to settle in, i think. he's tired but obligated to be who he is. plus, y'know, he's having to literally hide his existence, but that's going to fall apart no matter how hard he tries. note: the Spotify lyrics are wrong. there's two versions of this song with completely different lyrics.

Underline the Black: "how can i forget, what reason is left? when i looked at myself, i was somebody else [..] i just look, don't feel like myself at all, i'm just waiting for the axe to fall, and they're still waiting for their lives to start" // another case of "taking some lyrics literally" for the fun of it. tViking being an anomaly and also being the one Navigator is hijacking is a fun combination. there's also whatever Navigator might've been before, and what he's become to fill his role. is there still a way out or is this his life forever? everything's still at the beginning, but he's seen this play out so many times before.

Younger: "lie in wait by the gleaming city gate, try not to lose sight of the mission! [..] moment close at hand, half of you will never understand, and it doesn't really matter [..] it never hurts to give thanks to the navigator, even when he's spitting out random numbers." // another carry-over from the Viking and Ruby playlist, suggested by Charm! Naaaav what is your deaaaaaal

Undercover Agents: "i am currently under construction, thank you for your patience. we veneer, unveil, we present a cold disguise, we're all undercover agents [..] and i said if you want to go far and wide now, we've got to go together! [..] it's only in our heads." // using this song in particular is weird for me because it's so heavily ingrained as another character. but that other character has some thematic overlap with Navigator, so it makes sense that the song clicks too.

[..] i'm tired of your questioning, you're cut down too easily, i don't know what's good for me, i can't decide [..] you're nearly there, keep going, keep going, keep going, keep going, it will all be okay in the end" // more Navigator and Sapphire struggling with each other. the ending is kind of their justifications to themselves: they need to keep going because there has to be a light at the end of this somewhere. they can both be free somehow. in the meantime, though, they're going to fight and they're going to tear each other down as much as they build each other up. danvers hasn't been to a store in a while, and it definitely changed since the last time she when grocery shopping. why is everything so expensive? but she'd be willing to go but she wouldn't be so excited. she didn't like going in the 60's she probably wouldn't like it now. but if she's with you it's okay. she'll b a whiney baby and just like "babeeee when are we going home?". when you can't reach something she'll reach over you or literally lift you to it. then she'll be like "here you go baby". she'll be riding the cart around too, like a child on the loose. but if you buy her twinkies everything is okay.

sharon would actually be helpful omg. she'd hold you're hand the whole time and even make a list. if you ask for her opinion she'll state why one is better. and if you disagree she'll be like sweet and get that one for you. home girl is eyeing the whiskey the whole time judging the crappy ones they have on display, then giving you a full rundown of why to never get that one. she'd definitely offer to pay for you and you gotta fight her with to just not. it's not that it's not nice to have someone pay for you but you got money.

dr would be so fun to shop with. she'd jam out to the playlist theyre playing over the speakers. she'd take random pictures of you too. and she deff would jump on your back and make you carry her around the store. you two get into arguments about cereal and shes a firm cheerios hater. she's also an almond milk girlie. and as if it were a ritual you two cheek the sweets section. if she seems smt over priced she'll be like "we can literally make that at home babe". then if you guys go past the tots section you definitely get a kick out of them. you guys spend more time in the toys section then the adult section. she also has a very strong opinion on specific pads. darcy definitely gives you puppy eyes if she sees a fuzzy blanket you two could add to your collection.

nebs is completely lost😭 she's never been to anything that wasn't some sort of space market. and you have to repeatedly tell her she can't just open a bag of snacks or punch a mannequin because they were "provoking her". she'd also be holding on to you super duper tight. to assert dominance over you of course. and she'll glare daggers if anyone looks at you. and if any workers offer assistance she'll be a little mean. you gotta love your blue meanie tho. when she passes by the toy or baby section. how could a thing be so adorable. she's never say anything tho. and she'll only calm down if you buy her a plushie. she'll even smile if you buy her one. if anyone even looks at her blueness you literally jump them.

maria hill

maria's gotta get shit done. so she doesn't really like spending time doing or looking at useless things. so when you drag her to the store she's not very happy. but you try you're best to cheer her up, her pout is so cute tho. you say it'll be a fun couple bonding experience, so she feels bad acting so annoying. she'd definitely geek out in the pen aisle. but if you're stuck between to cereals shes no help. she just says "i don't know love, you chose" she'll watch you in adoration as you pick out stuff and smile when you see something cute. she'll offer to hold the basket or shopping cart. she also loves dark chocolate and always checks out the stores coffee selection.

katie is like a child in the store. she kinda stays glued to you if they're too many people around but if it's rather empty she'll be touching everything. you two spend a while discussing in the snack lane. she also likes to sit in the shopping cart when you've been theyre "way too long". she'll be trying to convince you to by little things like you wouldn't do anything for her. kate also grabs little toys kids have left around after their mom said no. and if she accidentally pokes a toy and the package breaks she'll make her cute little face nd put it back silently.

in the wings- yahaba’s literally always on the bench but kyoutani’s the one who gets the opportunity to play. yk, essentially the crux of their fight, so song title fits. more importantly though, the song is about trying to be people you’re not, and yahaba is Very Obviously trying to be oikawa 2.0, so he’s essentially waiting on the bench/wings of his own mind (and we only see the real him come out in moments like the confrontation)

touch starved- i saw someone put two best friends by bb been on a kyouhaba playlist once but lets be real. the REAL bb bean kyouhaba song is touch starved !!!! “fever got me aching” on ao3 REALLY sold me on this cuz yeah it makes sense. we don’t really see people touch kyoutani. when yahaba does so fearlessly, that’s bound to do SOMETHING weird to his brain right?? from “wait i thought this guy was some shallow idiot” to “wait he’s not scared of me” to “wait he’s being as violent with me as i am with everyone” to “wait he’s actually TOUCHING me?????” it just makes sense.

THEYRE BOTH SO GOOD ANON.... they scratch different areas of my brain but I looooove them. I think they pass the baton on who gets to be the more insane one

prepare for an essay andy...... none of these are new or controversial opinions, I just love talking about it. dnf jealousy is one I actually love seeing different takes on, because there's so many ways to play with the dynamic. we know they both are jealous boys, so it's just a matter of which flavour you like

for me, Dream's jealousy was at it's peak in 2020-2021 because they were blowing up, and suddenly A LOT of people wanted to know them. dnf both love interacting with people but Dream has a more obvious introvert streak, versus George really wanted to make as many new friends as he could. this meant there were suddenly new competitors for George's time and attention, and Dream didn't take that well.

they're constantly on call together because of the physical distance. poor Dream gets teased by Q (9:05-9:38) and Karl about wanting to always be involved in George's business, even when he's spending time with other people

early dnf had some friction in the differences of their communication styles, as really exemplified by THE "I love you" fight. Dream expressed affection so openly, it was easy for George to know that Dream loved him and so he felt more secure in their relationship.

for Dream, he definitely knew that George loved him on some level, but there were now competitors for the position of #1 in George's heart and so he puffed up his chest and hogged as much time as he could with George, jealous of anyone who might try to take that #1 spot. because he's a himself, he really took that title of jealous and George-obsessed and wore it like a badge of honour (AS HE SHOULD), because it just further stuck his claim on George. he was truly on a leash and collar then, and while the intensity has wavered because there aren't really any comparable threats to George's attention, I Know In My Heart that even now Dream can pull out the jealousy at the drop of a hat.

Jealous by Nick Jonas was one of the first songs I added to my first Dream playlist............ I love that guard dog.........

jealous!George feels very post-face reveal to me, when they're better at understanding the way each other expresses emotion and there's less friends vying for their attention. by this point, George has shown Dream again and again that he will choose him (through controversy and major life changes and careers and social suicide), so Dream is way less insecure about their bond. now that they're in Florida, they naturally spend time together and generally only have to leave each other's side if Dream (or Sapnap) has commitments elsewhere, or if Dream is busy working on a project.

so Dream's time and attention is being taken away from George by people/projects/things that he can't or won't be a part of. instead the people interested in them are generally more corporations or people outside the scene (ex. Musicians and labels)

everything is far less in George's control, because it's a degree removed from his business, whereas Dream was also involved with the people vying for George's attention, and could direct his jealousy to them directly.

George's jealousy and insecurity comes from the fear that Dream will move into that life instead and George won't be involved in projects directly anymore. since this move was partly because of the messiness of the mcyt scene and Dream wanting to explore other avenues, there's a fear that it might extend to his love life. Dream might find someone who understands the fame but is outside of the mcyt slo-mo car crash (dodges the awkwardness of dating a non-famous person or a fan or someone who is basically a co-worker).

this won't happen obviously, but George is fighting invisible demons on it, because the issue is that he just has no way of knowing what's going on unless Dream tells him. and that's unacceptable because he's an expert on Dreamie-ology and he hates it when any information gets withheld.

because there's no face to the people that George should be jealous of, and because George doesn't do jealousy the same way that Dream does, I think it gets masked as a lot of other things, like being grumpy or protective, but my FAVE is him being really entitled.

when George gets jealous of others getting Dream's attention, I think he'll bait Dream into doing things for him: buying him new shoes (10:12-10:28), editing videos for him, arranging outings for them, etc. even if Dream doesn't do it, I think he likes seeing Dream's reactions and likes when he considers it. I loooooove the idea of Dream giving him the chain because George demanded it in his weird roundabout way ("well clearly you're just being greedy now, Dream, nobody needs two chains. are you just going let it go to waste? sit in the dusty glizz in your closet?").

George will not be defeating the sugar baby allegations because as much as he wants the freedom and to be seen as capable, he loves being shown that he's taken care of and wanted. it's not necessarily the money (although he has expensive taste), it's the thought behind it all. he's like the pet that ignores you until you're doing something else and gets mad if you stop petting him

even if we're in the jealous!George era, I think on some level he knows that Dream always comes home, and when he does, it's because George is waiting for him

Marinette

Into the unknown (frozen 2) - original and cristina vees cover make me think so hard about marinette its crazy. her initially refusing to be ladybug, insistent that she couldnt do it but always coming back because she desperately wants to test those waters, see what shes meant to do and how it could change her.

Ladybug

Ribs (lorde) - how easily overwhelmed marinette gets and how her anxiety and stress almost force her to overthink every aspect of her life. I can see her getting this extreme tunnel vision where she cant see all the progress shes made, all the victories shes already had, and instead can only focus on how shes not doing enough, and its not fast enough, and its not good enough. it just really reminds me of how badly she wants to prove herself to be this strong and trustworthy hero, but she feels like shes losing herself as she grows and isolates herself more and more in the role of guardian and ladybug.

Adrien

Mamas boy (dominic fike) - he literally IS the mamas boy. what more can i say. also alludes to him being a sentimonster with the lines "when i was born, you were produced", "i wish i was a toy", "youre made from plastic im just blood".

Chat Noir

First love/late spring (mitski) - ok hear me out. how chat compensates for his family life with devoting himself to ladybug. "one word from you and i would jump off of this ledge im on" is exactly how he operates with her, being ready to throw himself in front of her, literally die for her if she ever said so. and she never does! she gets upset with him for doing it over and over! i just think this song depicts really well how chat noirs goal was always "do whatever I can to help ladybug, no matter what i may lose" while she had to watch him leave his life in her hands like it was nothing.

Show Yourself (frozen 2) - both the original and cristina vees cover (WHICH IS SO GOOD GO LISTEN TO IT RN) remind me so hardcore of ladynoir. the whole idea of ladybug finally coming to terms with showing chat who she truly is and being ready for the same from him, idk i can imagine an entire movie in my head of ladynoir reveal to this song. [fav lyrics: "I can sense you there, like a friend ive always known", "I have always been a fortress cold secrets deep inside. you have secrets too, but you dont have to hide", "you are the answer ive waited for all of my life"]

Blame (air traffic controller) - this is probably one of my all time favorite songs like fucking ever and tbh i can see it with all lovesquare sides but i feel like ladynoir is the best fit! Chat picking ladybug up when she falls down and constantly being there to remind her she was to get up and fight, theres no time to sit and pity and blame herself, and he wont let her. him being her voice of reason as she copes with losing almost everything to monarch, him grounding her and being one of her biggest motivations to go on! with how severely marinette overthinks and doubts herself, he just becomes a mantra of 'dont blame yourself' which she desperately needs [fav lyrics: "Dont blame yourself cause you tried as hard as hell with the hand that you were dealt", "get on your feet, enough 'poor me', if you got time to bitch and whine then theres still time to try again", "And the vultures they are circling overhead, theyre reminding me of choices from my past"]

Peach Scone (hobo johnson) - makes me think of early seasons ladynoir ;-; chat just being head over heels for ladybug, struggling with keeping his love platonic when he wants to be with her and know her. Also getting to kinda hear his side of ladybug saying shes already in love with someone, how he respects that but still is a bit of a flirt, and hides how much it hurts him. also i love hobo johnson. [fav lyrics: "She kinda loves him back, but not really, theyre just really good friends and thats fine, he understands, its rational", "Oh, you got a man? are you in love? so, what type?", "So i fall to the ground, collect myself and get ready to take over your heart or atleast your spare time"]

Talk to me (cavetown) - i am such a sucker for ladynoir comfort. the idea of them being there for each other at their lowest points, holding each other together. This whole song just makes me think so strongly of chat comforting ladybug when shes breaking down and needs someone. Could have been me (The struts) - GOD. THIS SONG. ITS SO LADYNOIR CODED TO ME. them hyping each other up!! keeping each other going!! being each others motivation to keep getting back up and fight!! i just love the idea of them constantly being there to pick each other up and remind them of what theyre fighting for. i could listen to this song forever i love it. I can also really hear "I cant hear you, I wont fear you" being a supportive call and response thing with them <3[fav lyrics: "I wanna taste love and pain, wanna feel pride and shame", "Don't wanna live as an unsung melody, i'd rather listen to the silence telling me i can't hear you, i won't fear you"]

Understood (leith ross) - i am a huuuuuge fan of leith ross so obv i love this song for ml. it just makes me think so much of a worn down, tired, sad chat just gushing and crying to ladybug about how he doesnt understand love, how his family dynamic impacts him, and just letting himself fall apart in her arms. and her relating! her feeling that same tiredness and guilt and ache about love and family and friends, how much invisible pressure is hanging over both their heads and only they understand it. Struck by lightning (sara kays, cavetown) - this song just really makes me think about ladybugs devotion to chat. i just imagine chat being out in the middle of a storm at night and marinette seeing him from her window and joining him as lb to comfort him. her knowing hes not going to go inside, so she just sits and stays with him, insisting if hes going to get soaked and cold and possibly hit by lightning, shes going to do it with him. (to be loved). i think it just perfectly fits how in love with lb chat is and how its clear she cant give that to him. Adrinette

I do adore (mindy gledhill) - marinette being head over heels for adrien and being her normal clumsy self. Falling over, rambling, making a huge fool of herself while adrien watches, completely oblivious to her crush. this song just really reminds me of how much marinette struggles with keeping herself calm around adrien, how shes always messing up words and doing the wrong thing, but he never freaks out at her and he never shames her for it. [fav lyrics: "when youre near i hide my blushing face and trip on my shoelaces", "Ive noticed youre remarkably relaxed and im overly uptight, we balance out each other nicely" "Tongue-tied, twisted, foot in mouth, i start to stutter ha-ha-heaven help me"]

Just a friend to you (meghan trainor) - early seasons adrinette <3 adrien being so painfully oblivious while marinette is struggling with balancing being his friend and her overwhelming feelings for him. [fav lyric: "so it breaks my heart when you say im just a friend to you cause friends dont do the things we do"]

Silly girl (chloe moriondo) - listen to this song rn! its so perfectly adrinette! its crazy! how marinette romanticizes adrien and kind of puts him on a pedestal at the beginning which leads to her ignoring how he doesnt fit into that idea shes molded of him. Her having to deal with the pain of being in silent love with him while he seems so far away, and turning that back around to use against herself. i just think it explain really well how marinette saw him in this perfect, unattainable bubble before they got closer and she realized he was nothing like his public image of perfection [fav lyrics: "im just a silly girl in a stupid dumb old world and he is perfect cause hes supposed to be", "he is perfect, unlike me, and how could i ever think that it was meant to be? and how could i ever think that anything was made for me?", "I made him perfect, cause i wanted him to be"]

Small (chloe moriondo) - this was originally intended to relate more towards marinette, but listening to it now with season 5 in my head it just screams adrien! how suddenly he falls for her and he cant get her out of his head! how in just a blink of an eye he is getting flushed when talking to her, hes wanting to be near her and talk to her, he wants to be with her! but shes pulling back from him and hes sort of unable to balance these new feelings AND respecting her boundaries because shes just the only thing he thinks about. i love simp boyfriend adrien. she fell first but he fell harder and no one can convince me otherwise [fav lyrics: "but im not used to dealing with feeling like im waisting your time", "ive never cared so much about avoiding overstepping, and when i think about you i forget about my hands" "endlessly try to make you smile cause whenever i see it my knees always get so weak"]

The one that got away (acoustic version - katy perry) - I am a mess over this song. i always imagine it as a post-reveal scenario in which something happened and ladybug lost chat in the fight against hawkmoth and found out he was adrien right as he died saving her. how badly she misses him and cant stop thinking about how he was the love of her life! having to go on living the rest of her life without him! shes unable to move past it and just spends her time thinking of all the things shed do if she still had him. in another life, they could still be happy together [fav lyrics: "we'd keep all our promises, be us against the world", "talk about our future like we had a clue, never planned that one day id be losing you"]

"Do you wanna be friends?" (leanna firestone) - Marinette breaking her own heart by having such a close friendship with adrien while being in love with him and knowing she cant do anything about it. Her desperately trying to convince herself she can be okay with a life with him as a friend and nothing more when obv she cant bc ouchie! her heart! [fav lyrics: "Do you wanna be friends? i mean, i wanna be more, but if friends is how i get to have you then sure", "The world wont end if you dont love me even if it feels that way"]

Marichat

If i could tell her (dear evan hansen) - i feel like this is a classic marichat song. like its been a marichat song for a hot minute but its still so them. chat comforting marinette about feeling like adrien doesnt notice her! and listing off things adrien 'told him about' and slowly realizing he does actually pay attention to all those small intimate things marinette does! he feels such a strong need to make sure marinette understands how important she is to adrien, and realizing how deep the disconnect between them two is [fav lyrics: "If i could tell her how shes everything to me but we're a million worlds apart and i dont know how i would even start", "And what do you do when the distance is too wide?"]

Drive (halsey) - i love this song for the idea of marinette and chat suppressing their feeling for each other because theyre 'supposed' to be in love with adrien and lb. for me it kind of paints a mental image of hangouts and games and memories between mari and chat that slowly become these intense, almost upsetting silences and tension. Just them desperately ignoring how deep their feelings for each other truly go and insisting everything remain surface level [ fav lyrics: "All we do is think about the feelings that we hide, all we do is sit in silence waiting for a sign", "Your laugh echoes down the hallway, carves into my empty chest, spreads over the emptiness. its bliss", "Overanalyze again, would it really kill you if we kissed?",]

Comfort crowd (conan gray) - this song just really makes me think of chat being at a really low point and trying to hide it from marinette so he doesnt burden her with his emotions and baggage, and her just seeing right through it. Like hes smiling and trying to wave it off and she just knows hes not okay, and he just breaks. Ultimately it makes me think of chat turning to marinette for such deep and intimate comfort that purely comes from him being with her. just knowing hes safe to hold onto her and cry and shell be that company for him. Lost in you (khai dreams) - i love the mental image of just such relaxed, fluffy, soft, marichat dynamic in this! chat slowly realizing hes in love with marinette and getting lost in every aspect of her. maybe not being able to entirely admit its love, but still being able to admit he has such a deep and sincere admiration for marinette that he feels is returned in a way he doesnt feel from ladybug [fav lyrics: "Im just looking for some mutual love but all i get is unrequited", "Cause i dont even know I dont know why, all your love im trynna find im so lost in you, in all that you do"]

Something there (beauty and the beast) - i enjoy a good disney song every now and then! its just so marinette and chat slowly falling for each other and being like "nuh uh... wait.. wait a minute.." and then falling headfirst in love with each other, and unable to communicate it. But both of them feeling this sudden new and strange spark between them, things slowly changing, becoming more and more personal and slowly beginning to accept that things have changed [fav lyrics: "And now hes dear, and so unsure, I wonder why I didnt see it there before", "and when we touched she didnt studder at my paw, no it cant be, ill just ignore, but then shes never looked at me that way before", "True that hes no prince charming but theres something in him that i simply didnt see"]

I'd have to think about it (leith ross) - another leith song bc THEYRE SO GOOD GO LISTEN TO ALL THEIR MUSIC RN anyways some angst a lil :) a future where marinette/lb and adrien/chat somehow got torn apart after the reveal and lost contact for. a hot minute. and when they've found each other again its chat finally finding marinette, in a new home, with a new family, and a new life. but they both know who each other are and marinette having to cope with knowing she would drop everything to be with him again. anyways. brain food. Come around (peter mcpoland) - THIS SONG MAKES ME SO GIDDY FOR SOME REASON!! makes me think of like chat picking marinette up from her balcony and taking her on rides, showing her (what he thinks shes never seen) a brand new side of paris and getting to bask in the warmth and light she radiates with him. 'shes looking at the pretty lights, i cant stop looking at her eyes' type shit. just him being so so down bad for her. [fav lyrics: "Ive noticed you pull the blinds back when you hear that im driving round", "i dont mean to cause any trouble, well maybe a little if thats allowed"]

Animal (neon trees) - this song also makes me so !! the vibes are so playful and fun and flirty while the lyrics are more intense. just really reminds me of how surface level marinette and chat keep things, flirting and teasing and just enjoying each other, and then as soon as things get more serious it comes down to a life/death type feeling. but still longing for each other! they know it just hurts and they cant but they want to! they both love and hate the way their relationship feels suspended in the air, in that it gives it a rush of uncertainty and playfulness but it also brings serious fears and pain. i love this song a lot for them [fav lyrics: "I do it everytime, your killing me now and i wont be denied by you, the animal inside of you", "hush hush the world is quiet, hush hush we both cant fight it, its us that made this mess, why cant you understand?"

Ladrien

Dixie boy (april smith and the great picture show) - i have to admit i dont think a whole lot about ladrien but! i am a sucker for jealous/posessive ladybug like claiming adrien for herself and adrien jsut being like. yep. okay. i agree. cause her ass is petty enough to like makeout with him in front of chloe just to really rub it in and adrien is like yippe!! my super hero bug gf loves me! while ladybug is so >:) do not ever touch my man [fav lyrics: "Cause like a soldier defends his land well i stand up, i get up, i defend my man", "Well i know the way that you girls operate so keep your hands to yourself and your eyes on your own plate. Bad ideas (tessa violet) - both adrien and ladybug just being such lovesick nerds for each other <3 ladybug trying to fight the urge to kiss him when theyre together, and adrien doing anything he can to keep her near him. they both know its a bad idea, to just stop trying to keep it all contained, but its so tempting to just say fuck it and indulge the bad ideas. atleast for a little [fav lyrics: "But i just wanna see the grooves between your hands, your teeth, oh, tell me do you think about me?", "So why'd i wanna kiss you even though i miss you, guess i just wanted to know what it would feel like"]

Her (eery) - how much adrien thinks about ladybug. just all the different ways he dissects her personality, their memories, every little bit of information he knows about her. i just feel like this song, while simple, just really encapsulates how constantly ladybug is on his mind. i miss that dynamic damn

YOUTH (troye sivan) - ladybug and adrien running away together. fuck it. literally think about it. them just being in love and together and adrien finally getting out of that HOUSE and getting to be with his LADY and be happy. How deeply devoted to each other they would be, and although naive, they would be so sincere and literally ride or die for each other.

Roman holiday (halsey) - i love the idea of ladrien having those small, important firsts together. putting aside not being able to be completely honest with each other, adriens entire family dynamic, everything, and just saying screw it and dating and doing couple things! theyre both too scared of what might happen if they slow down and face reality, so they ignore everything outside of themselves. they both have that ache of knowing its not real, its not how they can actually live, but for now they get to be happy. and in love. and with each other. and theyll deal with all the heartbreak later [fav lyrics: "didnt know where we were running to but dont look back", "and we know that were headstrong, and our hearts gone, and the timings never right"]

Anytime you smile (JT music, Andrea storm kaden) - kind of how i imagine chat blanc kept himself going while being isolated for all those months. coping by pretending ladybug was still with him and nothing was wrong, but slowly feeling uneasy and letting reality creep in. it shows how desperately he fights against his loneliness and pain with day dreaming, but still loses his mind. Dumb dumb (mazie) - i love the idea of an akumanette that just LOSES it on her friends after lila does some real stupid shit. none of her friends standing with her or supporting her and marinette getting so so upset and frustrated that they would be dumb enough to fall for it! which, being akumatized, of course wont come out the wrong way and is warped into this monstrous idea that marinette sees them as these morons who have disappointed her time and time again [fav lyric: "disappointment takes us by surprise even though by now i think we should have realized everyone is dumb"]

Class fight (melanie martinez) - god I LOVE AKUMANETTES THAT LOSE THEIR SHIT. lila putting distance and uncomfort between her and adrien (pre relationship) before marinette catches them kissing and get akumatized, and then marinette wrecks her shit :) her inner voice of reason feeling so horrified with the brutality and trying to get herself to realize but being able to deny monarchs voice encouraging her to act on her worst instincts [fav lyrics: "she had a boy wrapped around her finger tight, i fell in love with him but he wasnt in my life", "Her face was fucked up and my hands were bloody, we were in the playground things were getting muddy", "my one true love called me a monster"]

Bust your kneecaps - johnny dont leave me (pomplamoose) - i think this one really works well with an akumatized ladybug! her being so soft and scary to chat, chat blanc style, while promising to do horrible things to him. akumabug trying to convince him to 'just stop fighting' and 'hand over his miraculous' and then 'everything will be just the way it should be' and finally giving up and working instead to defeat chat rather than convince him

Therefore i am (billie eilish) - cold, angry akumanette FOR THE WIN OGH her just being such a silent but deadly akuma, her voice devoid of all the love and kindness it used to have when she was with adrien/chat, and him having to fight her while she shows no mercy. I just love the idea of chat doing anything he can, crying and begging marinette to fight it and come back to him and she has no pity for him [fav lyrics: "Get my pretty name out of your mouth, we are not the same with or without", "Did you have fun? i really couldnt care less and you can give them my best but just know im not your friend"]

OK SO IM GONNA SPLIT THIS INTO LIKE. PER EACH IDOL GROUP BC I LIKE TO ORGANISE THIS STUFF. warning this is long

the squisters:

proto is basically the third squid sister, even if they don't perform. they do a lot of the management, the advertising, organise stuff, the works. they do less of it after splat1 as they all start to drift apart, but they like the squid sisters in the "we are literal sisters" sense rather than just the music sense

as musicians, flora and bola don't really like them. they represent the tastes of wider inkadia and the more well-off parts of inkopolis, which is not at all what flora and bola are about. as people... it depends. in the canon where flora is agent 4, she's kind of indifferent to them. marie hands him a military grade gun and he didn't have hearing aids at the time so she just decided "yeah okay i'll start doing violence, whatever" and doesn't really care about saving callie or whatever. literally does not find out about it until later, when he finds out the hero headset work as hearing aids. bola doesn't trust them at all, but they're more focused on openly antagonising proto than on agents 1 and 2. HOWEVER.... there is also an au i wanna do more stuff for, called the odd1out au, where marie/callie swap and so do flora/bola. bola and callie work together to rescue marie, but it's less of a "you gave me a gun so sure i'll shoot people whatever" situation and more of an exchange: bola helps callie do this and she has to help them take down/generally harass Squidforce. bola's very abrasive as opposed to flora being very accepting and uncaring as agent 4, so they kinda force callie to grow and recognise a lot of the biases she's been carrying from craig (e.g., callie assumes bola is an octarian bc they're an octoling, makes a comment along the lines of oh aren't you glad you deserted them, and bola refuses to come back and help until callie comes and apologises (they also punch her in the face for that)). so in that au, callie kinda grows on bola and therefore flora too, once she comes to hang out with them to help w the squidforce stuff. marie is... rockier. after getting rescued, she's pretty bitter that callie is spending more time with someone she perceives as an octarian, the group that fucked her over, than with her own cousin. this is amplified when the eights join the leftovers, cause then she's hanging with Actual Octarian Soldiers, and bubbles being a sniper/scout means that marie has no place in the group. basically bc callie grew while marie didn't they grow apart and the leftovers don't really like her, and fully resent her once it comes out what proto and the squisters did in splat1 and she sides with proto over callie.

uh anyway i got carried away there. CB and bubbles' opinions change as they get more of their mem cakes, as they dont get them all the first time around and have to go back later for them. before, they're like "theyre famous ig? idk im trying to Survive here" but after they're like Oh Those Guys Caused A Large Amount Of Our Problems since they were directly responsible for causing the famine + desertion that was a catalyst to bubbles' parents abandoning him and CB getting Unethical Scienced on to make her a supersoldier. theres a reason they fight Inner Agents 1 & 2 rather than Inner Agent 3 and it's not just that proto is a weak ass fighter

pluto gives not a single shit. none. not one. levi (lil buddy, Leviathan's Flight Over Verdant Pastures, horrorboros, i need to mention them more) likes the squid sister's music well enough. would listen to it on the radio but wouldn't put on a playlist of it. doesnt really care about the people either

Off The Hook:

proto hadn't heard of them before octo expansion, and honestly doesn't super like either of them? they make a bad first impression on CB & bubbles, and therefore a bad impression on OTH, since the eights have the radio before meeting 3 and craig in this au. they never really recover from it bc theyre kinda rude in general and dont make a massive effort to redeem themselves to OTH. indifferent towards their music.

flora and bola absolutely idolise OTH, since they run the announcements for the underground inksports scene rather than the official squidforce stuff (big inspiration from @worldsewage's stuff), which is what the two of them frequent. they like OTH for the same reasons they dislike the squisters; they represent the same parts and aspects of inkopolis culture that the leftovers do. they get closer with OTH thanks to the connection through CB and bubbles post-OE, and are even trusted to run the announcements for OTH while they're on tour! fun fact: off the hook concerts are probably one of the main contributors to flora's deafness. guy who did not wear hearing protection to the concert of "woman who destroys shit with her voice" and suffers the consequences

CB & bubbles are super close with OTH, since they're the first people they met other than each other after waking up without any memories. marina was also the first person to speak to them in octarian, which was the only language they could understand at first. they care for each other and they're great friends, CB and bubbles don't help the other leftovers with covering the announcements bc they go on tour with OTH, and even perform with them a couple times!

pluto has never heard of them and neither has levi. rip!

deep cut:

proto doesn't like them bc they're getting in the way of the NSS' goals in alterna. theres not really any redemption at the end, cause deep cut don't decide marie should be their boss in my au, they instead decide to side with pluto who also doesn't really give a shit about the NSS. doesnt listen to their music

the leftovers squad all likes their music, but flora and bola do like to play up the whole splatsville vs inkopolis thing whenever they're brought up since they're loyal to inkopolis. all in good fun tho. maybe if they get famous enough theyll do a collab w deep cut or smth i need to figure out where to put them in my lore. CB and bubbles never meet them i dont think

pluto likes their music, levi LOVES it. in alterna, though, theyre all "i want the treasure and will absolutely fight you for it" rather than fanboying (fangirling? fansalmoning?) over them. meeting them more as equals since they're both splatsland bandits trying to make a living. they do a lot of teamups post-alterna, though more in the banditry sense than the music sense. levi absolutely gets all of their autographs

📚 How many layers do you typically use?

really depends on the piece. a lot of my sketches boil down to 1 or 2 layers but if im getting into something with colors or a complicated pose im like ABYSMAL about cloning layers and making big folders with separated lineart strands in case i ever want to edit anything. this is moreso a thing only when im making a reference or working with tricky lighting/filters but i also keep every color on a separate layer so that i can mess with hue shifting and recoloring on the fly.... which reminds me part of why i started doing that for refs is because i fucking love coming up with like fighting game alt color palettes for my ocs. especially when theyre references to other media. these come from old refs but heres an idea of what i mean

honestly i just want to make more of these with the recent ref artwork and just like. make a big post about it HAH

constantly changing i usually like just tossing my big 3k song playlist on OR if i have a character playlist for whoever im drawing ill toss that on. if none of that works i specifically go to the bass playlist to scratch my brain. bass playlist btw

usually when i try to do warmups i get like. too invested in my own ideas and end up making them full pieces. so i cant say i really do traditionally hah. uhh usually i like to combine like. any training i do with an actual piece like sometimes ill prematurely scribble out (and i mean completely Scribble) a background to get my hands in the motions of drawing and ill use that in the final piece, most figure sketches i do i tend to just collage together into a sketch page usually themed around my ocs, uhhhh often my whole art output for the day will just be like. me pulling up an empty drawpile or jspaint page and sketching around on that to get me back in the groove even if i end up drawing a Big Picture like the next day instead of right after. ive kind of just conditioned myself out of the conscious distinction between "polished piece" and "aimless sketch" because i think both can be equally interesting.... especially since im very anal about cataloguing even the smallest sketches of my characters. blame the fighting game hyperfixation and wiki galleries for that

One that my brain has pretty detailed out lately is just an ABO-type AU where NaJeongMoSaHyo are all married to each other living life n stuff. I think it'd be cute, to follow them thru getting together, and then big life events. Ups and downs. Marriage and all that. Eventually they'd have kids, raise em all together. I know a vague direction i want something to go in, or I know certain scenes I want to happen later down the line. I kinda just write to connect a vague story or concept. i almost never have an ending in mind; thats kinda why i favor AUs... theyre stories from a universe, and I can keep sharing stories as I think of them. Unless its a oneshot, or a published fic... then i know the beginning and a vague ending. Coven AU has a ton of lore because I drank a lot of coffee one day and had a notepad. Most lore for any au i have just relies on me going 'oh thats a GOOD idea ill remember that'.... reader, i have severe ADHD that i do not manage in any way. I dont remember that.

18 - What's one of your favorite lines you've written in a fic? - Oh boy. Probably none of them, i dont love my like... writing style? It isn't pretty, just plain. 22 - Do you know how your fic will end before you write it - Not usually. Im very bad at endings. If its a fill for an AU i just write until it feels correct to stop/I run out of ideas. The overall AUs i have no clue how theyd end, maybe a vague direction for some. I do know how my one fic is going to end though, if i ever finish it (i 99% will not im so sorry)

and by the way the one breaking up all the time and being dramatic as hell is shintaro. he gets angry and annoyed and weaponizes the LETS BREAK UP thing because he DOESNT MEAN IT. like he knows he and ayano will work it out later. he gets comfortable again. not to get on the ayano surviving thing, but i think ayano (and hiyori but especially ayano) making it out alive undoes a big part of the message abt moving on. like i love her so im not complaining thats i love having her alive :3 but i like to translate this into shintaro like. he's intensely trying to repress/process all the memories of the other timelines to cope and have a normal life and ends up being this way because he's sort of self sabotaging himself. like ayano's alive and she likes me??? lol. ok?? ill wake up any moment now!! and he feels guilty and undeserving and is sort of a dickhead to her in an unconscious attempt of keeping her away because that's what he deserves according to him. also why he's accepting of takane's intense obsession with him lol bc she's familiar and she is comfortable, unlike ayano who is so rare and one in its kind in all the timelines. he is sort of terrified of her in a way.

the lets break up isnt rly a breakup. its just a leave me alone see u later. LOL i think we talk too much abt kanoshin bringing the worst in each other but what about shinaya. they do that too. yeah we CAN have fluffy shinaya. but like i said it is so easy to focus all this bitterness and sadness into each other and it's so relieving to be sad and angry about this rather than everything else. because this is sort of in their control while everything else isn't, wasn't. and its so unfair. of course its unfair!! but they cant do anything abt it. so they just go crazy on each other. ayano is DESPERATE to be needed. i could link more replies but i will hold myself back. basically her siblings are used to being alone/know she has her own problems and ayano is dealing with this emptiness and feeling of failure bc no one needs her, from her perspective her sacrifice still failed to save everyone, her parents are gone so she needs to step up. like she puts herself under all this pressure and feels Not Good Enough for ANYTHING. and she is dating shintaro.

it's EASY to bother him and try to get him to open up and etc so she ridiculously focuses on that. but it gets on shintaro's nerves to say the least LOL plus all his other issues i mentioned 🫡plus she keeps being like we have to be normal. lets kiss and hold hands and cuddle. but she's too embarrassed to say it/do it and shintaro is even more pathetic about it. so theyre both frustrated about everything and can barely even sit next to each other without acting insane.

AND SORRY BUT I WILL TALK ABT TAKANE🫡💞💗💖💝💕💘ofc. codependent shintaka. of course. it drives ayano CRAZY because on top of all their problems takane is able to talk sense into shintaro each and every single time. and she is soooo jealous like she knows its stupid but she cant help ittt i ALSO TALKED ABT THIS SORRY I KEEP REPEATING MYSELF IM JUST SO CRzy abt it. hehe......the whole mess bringing drama to harutaka too bc shintaro and ayano are so messy theyre contagious is so fun to me. when it comes to shintaro and takane's horrible relationship both their romantic relationships suffer for it but deal with it completely differently. while both haruka and ayano deal with jealousy somewhat, ayano is so hurt and already at the verge of a mental breakdown so she's focusing so many negative emotions on it and AGAIN it just serves as another point of argument between shintaro and ayano while haruka is like. his mental state isnt as convoluted as ayanos, he's rather freaking out and terrified of being left alone. THIS IS ABT SHINAYA so i wont get into harutaka side but lol. heh. Looks at it. zooms in it. like what i mean is that haruka and takane talk and work through it and are like sighs yeah...this is messed up while shintaro and ayano are using it against each other instead of working on it LMAO

ANYWAYS. ayano breaks up with shintaro. vine boom. total breakdown moment like everyone out of the room i wanna talk to you alone. and this time its for REAL. like ayano isnt confrontational at all, all their arguments are always her being pushy abt idk mental health and shintaro's like godddd STOPPPPP and ayano crying and shintaro being like I CANNOT DEAL WITH THAT. IM SORRY I GUESS. CAN U GET OUT OF THE ROOM. WE'LL TALK LATER. but he also sucks so bad at letting the other person know they can count on him so he kind of assumes ayano will do it when she's ready because he KNOWS she's in pain. like. ofc it could go well. ofc shintaro and ayano could work through everything with kindness and comprehension for each other but they're both so sad and suddenly find themselves annoyed at each other one time and it felt so freeing to do that that they just keep doing it. especially shintaro. having ayano be mad at him is sort of relieving because he feels undeserving of her and its like yeah. Yeah!! i know its ooc but shinaya screaming match.god. sorry but all their bottled up emotions abt everything and they take it out on each other for no reason other than theyre giving each other the space and it plays out that way. theyre acting crazy about something so stupid like shintaro not wanting ayano to wear his clothes or whatever. like they scream about that but its not about that. it just feels so good to scream. it feels so good to scream and let it out even if they haven't given themselves the time to process that theyre not... actually screaming abt that at all. theyre screaming about everything else. not even about each other. its about themselves. its always been.its never been about each other. when it is, its stupid. thats why they do it. its just easier. God. they were just not ready for a relationship, especially not one with each other out of all people.

ayano breaks first, therefore dumps shintaro lol. he goes thru his own fucked up arc afterwards while ayano gets help. my man spirals DOWN. whether they get back together or not depends on my mood 🤨 but if they do, its by the time theyre in their mid twenties or something so a few years later LOL i picture them dating like for over a year maybe?? when theyre 18/19. hehe.
