My friend asked me how to pronounce patroclus and the only response I could give was “do whatever your heart tells you”

#I’ve heard it pronounced in so many different ways #when I first read tsoa I said pa-troh-clus #but then playing hades and hearing everyone say ‘pa-traw-clus’ kinda made me default to that lol #and then paris the musical says PA-tro-clus and I just can’t fuck with that ngl #I explained all of this in a rambling voice note because I have thought of this a lot #anyways I say pa-traw-clus now even tho pa-troh-clus holds a special place in my heart #patroclus #the iliad #tsoa #the song of achilles #hades game #paris the musical #tagamemnon

has anyone ever written a no capes DC AU where Jason's pit rages are switched into OCD/intrusive thoughts?? because that's a concept i literally can't get out of my mind. i tried to write a pit rage once and i noticed the way i'm describing it is a literal projection of my intrusive thoughts back when my ocd was that awful. so i thought i might try to write something like an OCD!Jason fic but if anyone's read something like that before please let me know!!

#as a side note i saw a lot of discourse about the nature of a lazarus rage and more specific ally the way it is handled in fics #and a lot of people were saying it's wrong to imply the rage can make someone do things they don't actually want to do #because that would erase jason's whole philosophy when he wanted to kill criminals #and would instead make it a case of 'crazy person doing bad things because he can't control himself'#and i agree with that sentiment 1000%#like obviously i cant tell you how tro write your fics lol #but i feel like the reasoning and philosophy behind his actions is a part of Jason that can't and shouldn't be erased #so an ocd au would WORK with this character #because like i know a lot of people don't know this but intrusive thoughts have absolutely nothing to do with your real feelings #i mean when you have ocd & you keep thinking about killing someone it's not because you're a dangerous murderer who really wants to kill pp #and maybe i just really want to write a blorbo going through the same shit i did and coming out alive and still loved by his family— SUE ME #jason todd #red hood #DC #DC Comics #lazarus pit #lazarus rage #headcanons #mental issues #obsessive compulsive disorder #ocd #ocd headcanon #fanfiction #writing #ocd!jason todd

getting into a new fandom and finding 0 fics for it on ao3 😭 is it over

#delete later #it's 4am where i live and i cannot sleep which is v frustrating bc i have work as always #and i will truly private this when i am more awake and embarrassed but the fandom is k//ill//er p//et//er on we//bto//on #aka k//ill//er p//ie//tro depending on the translation scans site #it's only ~30 (scrollable webcomic format) eps so far... very action-y and digestible #but man. the titular character...#..............#seasoned assassin who succeeds despite the crazy odds stacked against him out of sheer competence and experience #what if he had a cold 🙁🙁🙁#i was actually reading it for reference for something more action-oriented i'm working on to familiarize myself more with the genre #my personal investment was not part of the plan (🤡)#i don't think i can be the one to post the first ever fic on ao3 and have it be a gratuitous sickfic 😭 i don't have it in me #also i think it would not quite live up to the joy of reading someone else's thoughts about how he'd operate when unwell... but sadly there #is 0 demand for it except for me and it's also not the kind of genre where we would ever get that arc in canon #...next time i need to find something with at least 1 sickfic on ao3 before i get emotionally invested

As my Star Wars hyperfixation begins to sneakily creep its way back into my life, I’m going to throw my two cents in and say that I’d like to see more about what happens between TLJ and TROS.

Because Star Wars is a story about broken family relationships and one that I think is under explored is Leia and Ben’s.

After TLJ, Leia was still the leader of the resistance. And Kylo became the leader of the first order. Sure, Palpatine returned, but that wasn’t until later.

Which means that the entire year between TLJ and TROS was a mother vs. son battle.

Leia Organa, who already lost the love of her life and just wanted her boy back had to wage a war against him and his armies for a full year.

Benny Kylo “don’t make me shoot my mom” Ren had to wage a war against her. Again, for a full year. He’s not just on the opposite side anymore, he’s leading the war against his own mother.

Did they ever come close to killing each other but decide against it? Were negotiations ever offered? Did Leia ever feel conflicted between fighting for what was right and hurting her son? Did Kylo ever have to tell himself that it didn’t matter how he felt because his mom would never forgive him anyway? Did they ever accidentally force connect again?

I have ideas for this if any wants to hear them, but maybe it’s just me. But in a saga about the Skywalker family drama, this is one piece of it I can’t stop thinking about.
