How to Incorporate Company Branding into Trophies
When celebrating achievements and milestones, trophies play a crucial role. But why settle for generic awards when you can make them uniquely yours? Incorporating company branding into trophies adds a personal touch and reinforces your brand identity. Here’s a friendly guide on how to turn your trophies in Melbourne into memorable symbols of success.
Why Branding Matters
Incorporating your company’s brand into trophies offers several benefits:
Boosts Brand Visibility: Your brand gets spotlighted whenever the trophy is displayed.
Enhances Company Culture: Customised trophies can reflect your company’s values and ethos.
Creates a Lasting Impression: A branded trophy reminds of the achievement and the brand that celebrated it.
1. Choose the Right Trophy Style
When selecting a trophy style for your trophies in Melbourne, consider how it aligns with your brand’s image. Whether you opt for a classic cup, a modern plaque, or a unique custom design, ensure it complements your company's aesthetic.
Classic Trophies: Great for traditional events, like sports or annual awards.
Modern Designs: Perfect for contemporary branding and innovative events.
Custom Creations: Ideal for creating a one-of-a-kind award that truly represents your brand.
2. Integrate Your Brand Colors and Logo
One of the most effective ways to incorporate branding is using your company’s colors and logo. This ensures that your trophies in Melbourne are instantly recognisable and align with your corporate identity.
Logo Placement: Position your logo prominently on the trophy. This can be done through engraving, printing, or even inlay techniques.
Colour Coordination: Use your brand colours for accents or the entire trophy base. This will create a cohesive look that stands out.
Tumblr media
3. Add Custom Engravings
Personalised engravings are a fantastic way to include branding elements. They offer a subtle yet effective method to embed your company’s identity into each award.
Text Engraving: Include your company name, the event name, and the winner’s name.
Tagline or Slogan: Engrave your company’s tagline to reinforce your brand’s message.
4. Incorporate Brand Themes and Symbols
Think beyond just the logo and colours. Incorporate themes or symbols that represent your brand’s values or mission.
Custom Icons: Create custom icons that reflect your brand’s unique attributes. For instance, a tech company might use a gear symbol.
Brand Mascots: If your company has a mascot or character, consider incorporating it into the trophy design.
5. Collaborate with a Local Trophy Maker
Working with a local trophy maker can offer several advantages when creating trophies in Melbourne. They can provide insights into what works best locally and help tailor the trophies to your needs.
Local Expertise: A local maker understands the preferences and trends within Melbourne.
Customisation Options: They can offer various materials and customisation options to make your trophies unique.
6. Ensure Quality and Craftsmanship
Finally, the quality of the trophy is crucial. A well-crafted trophy looks impressive and reflects your brand well. Ensure that the materials and artistry are of high standards.
Material Choices: Opt for durable materials that will stand the test of time, such as glass, crystal, or metal.
Finishing Touches: Pay attention to the finishing details, such as polishing and the accuracy of engravings.
7. Consider the Presentation
Presenting your trophies in Melbourne can also enhance the branding experience. Use branded packaging or presentation boxes to make the awards even more special.
Branded Packaging: Custom boxes with your company’s logo add a touch of elegance and reinforce your brand’s identity.
Ceremony Setup: Incorporate your branding into the award ceremony’s decor to create a cohesive experience.
Conclusion
Incorporating company branding into trophies is more than just a design choice; it’s a strategic move to enhance your brand’s visibility and reinforce your company culture. Whether celebrating achievements with trophies in Melbourne or planning a grand awards ceremony, personalised trophies will ensure your brand shines brightly. Dipped in Foreign Lands; An Exercise in Image Storytelling
The beginning of an offering of consolidated thoughts, photos, slices of life in between rocks, more photos, and general going.
Tumblr media
Preface.
With an elongated farewell, a month passed before I departed the country. This time wasn’t spent finding accomodation, or sorting bank cards as it probably should have been. No, instead there was lots of relaxing, music, surfing, watching the NBA playoffs and organising of the hoards gathering dust in my parents cupboards. It wasn't until the final 2 days that the urgency of packing life into a bag for the foreseeable future became a priority.
It was done though, thanks to my loving housemates who provided a ‘jacpac’ for its potential to be filled. 2 jackets, 6 t-shirts, 2 brother-made garments, 2 shirts, 2.5 pairs of shoes, 2 cameras, a recording kit (regrettable now…), synthesiser (also marginal…), 400 leaves of paper, and a whole lot of other possessions that I probably didn’t need to pack. I felt sad to think of time apart from some things, but their absence will drift like the main themes of Toy Story (1998).
I write this now sitting at a glass dining table enclosed in a small house-in-progress situated on a piece of land in Almagreira. There are dogs barking next door, and many flies darting around the area. It has been 2 weeks since leaving Aotearoa, so I would like to tell you how I have been, and how it’s being seen. Through the lens of a digital camera (and the occasional iPhone pic).
1 Melbourne
Tumblr media
As early birds get worms, I had an early flight to Naarm on 01/06/2023. Melbourne waited a bounty of friends, sandwiches, musical sharing, long walks, and pizza. A social extension on a Friday saw our Mouthfull ‘Live at Capers’ residence with a jovial group of deejays providing a space for listening, dancing - and a great meeting point for people to come together over some Mastika & Moussaka worthy of a trophy made of pure 1 million carat gold.
Tyler and I would also have so much fun playing songs on the radio for breakfast over 2 days (links below for listening). For breakfast we ate toast with avocado and tomato, and for breakfast radio we listened to a mixture of jazz, folk, new wave, ambient, worldly music with a sprinkling of a few classic ballads of course.
Sleeping on the sofa was comfortable after some cushion amendments and some wine. We would spend our days walking and talking in Carlton North, relaxing and imagining. Our best meal together was from the Sri Lankan spot, Citrus, where you can find a banquet of vegan smorgasbord for $15.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Once the event was said and done, a recovery in the mornings light was aided with a walk to the felafel shop to meet again with Olive. Hearing of her news in between bites brought great happiness and love.
The following day, I met with Poppy. We were to find a place in Brunswick for a coffee; opting for some breakfast too at Kines. While we were there, I would think of Denzel for his obsession with the cafe. His voice would riddle through echoes from the past. After our breakfast, we walked up and down, crossing Sydney road 3 times, turning corners, and entering discount food stores to browse the obscure flavours of pringles and chocolate. The day was hot and the walk long. Navigating our bodies to Ceres we rummaged through bike parts and found entertainment in a cat in the chicken coup. It was a pleasant walk, except the moderate panic when I left my jacket on a park bench with all money and devices embezzled in the pockets.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After all the catching up, walking, wandering; I caught a train down to Torquay to visit an old friend, Isabelle. It was strange down there considering last time was around 5 years ago staying in a resort not dissimilar to vaudeville. However, we would go for a long walk to discover an amazing mosaic sundial (designed by artist Claire Gittings - whom I have no known lineage to - but am probably related somehow).
With conversations over a cafe breakfast of my conviction against mining, we would enjoy each others' company in a true taurus manner. I would stay in her house near Marshall and meet her love, and we would have a Spanish soup next to a brazen colour changing fire in a brazier. A casket of red wine was ordered for $10 and delivered promptly, while it wasn't exactly even middle of the road it was a fine drink.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Finally, a pizza evening at Leonado's with Harrison & Andre. Some of the best pizza you will try, the Italian community in Carlton is a reliable source. Twas a welcome carbohydrate to carry forward into the nights digestion on what was to be my last night in Naarm. I bought Tyler a Toblerone to thank him for my stay, and the constant trickling of happy travel wishes would soon be finished with a final embrace.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And so it was, as it was, an extended layover in a city being taken over by sandwich shops and wine bars. It was to be the takeoff point to the north, an expansion to signify the changing of place from previous programming. The world outside was luminous and the air filled with a freshness known to mother nature so much more well than ceiling fans.

Wide Range of Choices: Online stores typically offer a much broader selection than physical shops. Whether you’re looking for sports trophies, corporate plaques, or academic awards, you can find a variety of styles, sizes, and materials to match your event's theme and budget.
Customization Options: Many online trophy shops allow you to fully customize your trophies and awards. You can add engravings, logos, or personal messages to create a unique and memorable token of achievement.

Budget-Friendly: Since online shops don’t have the overhead costs of physical stores, they can often offer competitive prices. You can easily compare prices across multiple sites to find the best deal without sacrificing quality.
How to Choose the Right Trophies and Awards
Selecting the perfect trophies and awards for your event may seem like a daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be. Here are some factors to consider when choosing the right awards for your needs:
Type of Event: The type of event you’re organizing will largely dictate the kind of trophies and awards you should order. For example, sports events often require traditional trophies with figures or symbols related to the sport. Corporate events may call for elegant plaques or crystal awards, while school competitions might feature fun and colorful designs.
Award Categories: Think about the different categories of awards you’ll need. Are you giving out first, second, and third place trophies? Will you also have special recognition awards for categories like "Best Team Player" or "Most Improved"? Having a clear list of awards will help you plan your order.
Material: Trophies and awards come in various materials, including metal, glass, crystal, acrylic, and wood. Each material offers a different aesthetic, so choose one that best fits the tone of your event. For example, crystal awards are elegant and ideal for formal corporate settings, while acrylic or metal trophies are perfect for sports events.
Customization: Customization is key to making your trophies and awards feel special. Most online stores allow you to add engraved text, logos, and other personal touches. Be sure to check the customization options available when you order trophies and awards online in Melbourne.
Budget: Your budget will play a significant role in the type and quantity of trophies you order. Set a budget in advance and look for options that meet your financial constraints without compromising on quality.
Tips for Ordering Trophies and Awards Online
To make the process of ordering trophies and awards online as smooth as possible, follow these tips:
Start Early: Don’t wait until the last minute to place your order. Starting early gives you enough time to browse different options, make customizations, and ensure that your trophies are delivered on time. If you have a tight deadline, check the estimated delivery time before placing your order.
Check Customer Reviews: Before committing to an online store, read customer reviews and testimonials. This will give you an idea of the quality of the products, the reliability of the service, and the overall customer experience. Look for stores with positive reviews and a solid reputation in Melbourne.
Compare Prices: With so many options available online, it’s a good idea to compare prices across different websites. Don’t just go for the cheapest option, though—balance cost with quality to ensure you get the best value for your money.
Look for Customization Options: If you want your trophies and awards to stand out, customization is a must. Check if the online store offers engraving, logo printing, or other personalization options. Confirm the font, size, and placement of the text to avoid any errors.
Double-Check Details: Before finalizing your order, carefully review all the details. Make sure the customization information is accurate, and double-check the quantity, size, and delivery address. Mistakes can delay the process, so it’s important to get everything right from the start.
Order in Bulk: If you’re ordering trophies and awards for a large event, consider ordering in bulk. Many online stores offer discounts for bulk orders, which can help you save money.

Digital Transformations in the Trophy Industry: Online Ordering and Customization
In current times, when we talk about how, through technology, the online E-Commerce sector has revolutionized entire industries, we are not just talking about sectors like IT, engineering, services, and so on. Rather, we mean sectors like printing, trophies, designing, and others that have also reaped several benefits from the use of digital technology.
Tumblr media
The last few years have seen the boom of technology, whose impact has also been felt by the trophy and awards industry. Digital technology has made it easy to look for trophies online and be presented with a host of options to choose from. Moreover, with cost minimization being the most favored goal of almost all consumers, looking for trophies online has been more profitable than going to stores. This search for trophies online has been directly reflected in the number of orders that have been placed for trophies online.
Let's understand in a bit more detail why consumers are gradually shifting towards looking for trophies online, the factors prompting this change, and the reason why looking for trophies online is becoming more viable for consumers as opposed to going to physical stores. In this way, it will be possible to draw a conclusive answer regarding how digital transformation has affected the trophy and awards industry.
What is Digital Transformation?
Before we go further on how digital transformation has been changing consumer mindset to look for trophies online, let's briefly understand the meaning of digital transformation. Digital transformation, simply defined, refers to the integration of digital tools and technologies to improve the business process and service. It contributes to words adding more value to existing businesses and meeting customer expectations easily.
In the case of Australia, digital transformation has long been on the corporate agenda, considering the assets that companies use to manage consumer expectations and improve productivity. Existing studies suggest that corporate leaders have been able to increase their revenue, drive innovation, and manage competition all because of the competitive advantage that has been provided with the use of digital tools and techniques. Thus, the use of digital transformation in the awards and trophy industry was just a gradual step to take.
Understanding the Custom Trophy Market
In corporate Australia, over 80% of corporations are already gradually integrating digital transformation technologies to provide them with an added edge in the market. Aside from these particular statistics, the changes in consumer preferences and needs with regard to looking for trophies online have also changed significantly. Today, when it comes to looking for good trophies online for ideas, consumers google with the most common catchphrase of 'sports trophies near me' or if it's associated with any specific region then, 'sports trophies Melbourne." This means that the first choice of consumers when looking for trophies online is to always Google their answers. But this is where the real question is asked, 'Why?'
There are three major reasons that can be discerned with regards to why the custom trophy market has been gaining an advantage.
The Case of Modern Trends
One of the most common reasons why there has been an influx of people hunting for sports trophies near me is mostly to meet their expectations. These expectations arise out of the several modern trends that are taking over the market. Consumers today are looking for contemporary designs that can create a buzz in the industry. This is mostly because they intend the trophy to be a direct reflection of their varied personalities. It is this shift in preference that has caused consumers to look for trophies online, that can provide them with these contemporary designs.
Unlike before, where you or I would simply look for sports trophies near me, and select the best design that was available, consumers today have completely changed their outlook. Even when we are looking for sports trophies near me, our mind is always fixed on finding some modern design that will be both sleek and beautiful. For example, modern designs like trophies made of acrylic and resin, mixed metal trophies, using 3D printing technologies, and so on. For example, when it comes to sports trophies, Melbourne consumers have a strong demand for mixed materials trophies. Consumers appreciate the beautiful combination of metal, glass, and wood used to make trophies. As a result, the sports trophies in the Melbourne circuit get the most customization requests from consumers.
The case of customization
When it comes to awards and trophies, there has been a recent surge in customization because it makes it easy for individuals to reflect their style and personality in those trophies. It is difficult to get custom-made trophies online, considering the lack of options on the web. Another major advantage that custom-made trophies online provide is that they allow the customer to select what kind of materials or designs they want to include in the trophies. Using techniques like 3D printing technology on trophies is unable to revolutionize the entire Trophy manufacturing industry. When looking for sports trophies in Melbourne, getting a hand on different options becomes possible because of the advantage that customization provides. The best part about customization with trophies online is that it allows one's creative ideas to shine, making it possible to develop unique sports trophies.
Customisation also allows clients to engrave names and dates so that messages and even company logos can be easily embossed on the trophies. As a result, when looking for sports trophies near me, having the option for customization allows clients to add a personal touch alongside and dance to the value of the entire range of trophies.
The aim of maintaining sustainability
Another music concern that most consumers have today is whether they will be able to maintain sustainability when it comes to making purchases. One of the biggest challenges consumers face when purchasing trophies online is knowing whether they can be sustainable or not. It is the reason why most consumers today order and customize their trophies to ensure that they are both stylish and sustainable. The use of Eco-Friendly alternatives and methods becomes easier when it comes to customization. Considering the fact that most of the time, metals and plastics are used to make trophies, knowing that they cause considerable damage to the environment, custom-made trophies are able to avoid this challenge.
The use of sustainable materials such as bamboo, recycled materials, and other biodegradable materials. So, having the option of customizing sustainable trophies when ordering trophies online allows clients the freedom to choose what to use and what to not use as trophy materials. One of the reasons why traditional trophies have lost their charm in the market is because of the significant use of plastic materials during the manufacturing process.
This challenge is fairly eliminated when the customization option remains open for the consumers. The correct integration of technology along with the maintenance of sustainability allows for not only reducing wastage and minimizing energy consumption but also provides more choice options for consumers. The advantage that is provided by most organizations in this industry is that when consumers are looking for ordering trophies online, they are provided with these said benefits.
It can be stated that digital transformation indeed has brought forward several changes for the trophy industry, allowing for better options for consumers. Not only provides a variety of product ranges but also allows for choosing to maintain sustainability as well as unique designs that are new to the market.
Parting Words
Ordering trophies online does not have to be difficult; rather, it is possible to be something that is a direct reflection of your tastes and preferences. The availability of customisation options makes it possible for consumers to be able to select trophies online that can match their taste easily. Especially when it comes to sports trophies, Melbourne customization allows for better maintenance of sustainability and allows for choosing designs that are unique. Hence, digital transformation has indeed brought about a positive change in the trophy industry.

Page 32: New parents Kit Harington and Rose Leslie may be in baby heaven, but they're dealing with the home renovation from hell -- the Game of Thrones alums, who recently welcomed their first child, have been up to their ears fixing up their 15th-century country manor, which is turning out to be a huge money pit -- Kit and Rose bought the $2.4 million spread shortly before tying the knot in 2018 and had no idea what they were getting into and the couple got hit by sticker shock when they finally got their plans approved to put in a new kitchen, master bath, pipes and flooring and it's going to cost them an extra half a million at least -- they still think it's the perfect place to raise a family, but overseeing an army of builders and designers with a newborn at home is leading to some serious sleep deprivation
* As Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles' romance heats up, the couple is planning a heart-to-heart with her ex-fiance Jason Sudeikis -- after filming wrapped on their movie Don't Worry (for the love of all that's holy, please put in a comma) Darling, the lovebirds flew to London to meet with Jason, who's been on the set of Ted Lasso in England because Olivia, who shares two kids with Jason, wants to clear the air and have a calm conversation about how everyone moves forward from here, and she wants Jason to realize that Harry is here to stay and Olivia needs Jason to understand this is a serious relationship, whether he likes it or not

There's no shortage of copies, since it can be downloaded digitally. The only real upside to this remaster is accessibility. (And personally, I find it slightly less satisfying to simply post high scores on social media, rather than taking photos and sending them to magazines like we would back in the day.) But aside from bragging rights, even that doesn't bring very much to the table. And for PaRappa the Rapper's eclectic tracks, there wasn't much updating that could be done without losing the personality that made them so memorable in the first place.Īside from the lack of updated visuals and sound design, the addition the trophy system was a nice touch for the modern gamer. While the online version might sound better in modern-day headsets that often come packed with surround sound, the vinyl version is still excellent as well. It's really similar to picking up an album by your favorite artist on vinyl, then grabbing the same album via an online store. The same is true for the game's soundtrack, which has also been upgraded in quality. It's a bit like redrawing basic Pong visuals on a new console - it might look a bit crisper, but for the most part it's graphically the same as the original version. Its mediocre 62 score on Metacritic tells me I'm not the only one who was disappointed.Īdmittedly, sharing your gameplay and posting about it online is much easier using the remastered version, but little else is added other than a fresh coat of HD paint.Īnd honestly, Greenblat's unique visuals didn't really need an HD upgrade, so the game doesn't benefit very much from having a better resolution in the same way that titles like Crash Bandicoot or Final Fantasy VII would.
Parappa the rapper 2 iso usa upgrade#
The lack of a true upgrade between the original game and the sequel didn't give me high hopes for the remaster - and as I suspected, the game didn't quite live up to expectation.
Parappa the rapper 2 iso usa tv#
Again, I loved the game - but as far as I could see, very little was added with the new iteration, apart from a reformatting of visuals for modern TV and a trophy system. I then picked up the sequel, PaRappa the Rapper 2, on my PS4. But at its core, the story was about PaRappa trying to impress a flower-shaped girl called Sunny Funny through the medium of rap.
Parappa the rapper 2 iso usa how to#
As for the story, it was completely off the wall - and you had to play it to believe it, as it included a chicken teaching you how to bake a cake and PaRappa having to desperately use the bathroom. The visuals (90s cardboard cut-out) by Rodney Greenblat were funky and irreverent, and the music was zany. I loved it, and a few weeks later, I picked up a copy on an online auction site. But I finally got the chance to play the whole game at my local museum in April 2014, when a video game exhibition (originally in Melbourne, Australia) came to my hometown in Edinburgh. I didn't get a chance to play the original game back in the day, as the title was rarer than hen's teeth! Instead, I made do with the relatively hard Stage 1 on a PlayStation demo disk.

Usain St. Leo Bolt “Lightning Bolt”
What comes to your mind when you hear about Track and Field? Many people say that running is easy but they don't know how hard and tough it is to improve your speed, agility, leg power, strength, and etc. I want to introduce to you the life of the “Fastest Man” who ever lived on earth. He is Usain St. Leo Bolt, 34 years of age and he lives in Kingston, Jamaica. Usain Bolt was born on August 21, 1986 in Sherwood Content in the Trelawny section of Jamaica. His parents, Jennifer Bolt and Wellesley Bolt, owned a small grocery store. He has 2 siblings.Usain, his brother Sadeeki and sister Shrine helped them run the business. When he was a kid, he was already obsessed with sports. He showed great promise as a sprinter at an early age. When he was in primary school, he began entering regional races. At the age of 12, he was declared as the fastest sprinter in his hometown. After finishing primary school, he studied at William Knibb Memorial High School and his high school cricket coach urged him to pursue a career in track and field. Usain continued his development under the tutelage of Pablo McNeil and Dwayne Narrett. After enrolling at Knibb High School. At the age of 14, he won his first medal and took silver in the 200 meter run clocking 22.04 seconds. Even as a runner, I am 18 years old and my personal best in 200 meters is 24.72 seconds and at a young age, I can say that Usain is very potential and talented in running. Usain was not taking it seriously in his training but his height, size, speed, and strength kept him moving up the ranks of the nation’s elite sprinting prospects. By the age of 15, he had grown to 1.96 metres or 6’5 tall, and he physically stood out among his peers.
Usain competed in his first major event, representing Jamaica in a Caribbean regional meet called the CARIFTA Games in 2001. He ran the 400 meter dash and got his new personal best clocking 48.28 seconds. He also ran the 200 meter dash finishing with 21.81 seconds. He got silver medals in both races. Later that year, Usain got his opportunity to represent his country and appeared in his first international meet, the IAAF World Youth Championships or International Amateur Athletic Federation. It was held in Hungary and Usain set his new personal best in the 200 meters with 21.73 seconds. As Usain’s star grew brighter, he disappeared during trials for the 2002 CARIFTA Games. Usain hides in the back of a van. He was eventually discovered by police. Usain decided to move to Kingston so he could train under the Jamaica Amateur Athletic Association at the University of Technology. The request was directly from Prime Minister P. J. Patterson
Usain bettered those marks at the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Junior Championships. At the 2002 World Junior Championships in Kingston, Usain lowered his personal-best 200 time to 20.61 seconds. It became the history’s youngest world junior champion in that event. He was also part of teams that set national records in the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays. In 2003, Usain won 4 gold medals in CARIFTA Games and he was awarded  the Austin Sealy Trophy for the most outstanding athlete of the games. Usain won another gold in 2003 World Youth Championships in the event of 200 meter dash clocking 20.40 seconds and set the championship record.  Michael Johnson, the 200 meter world-record holder, took note of Usain's potential but worried that the young sprinter might be over-pressured. Bolt competed in his last and final competition of Jamaican High School Championships in 2003. He broke the records of 200 meter with the time of 20.25 seconds and in 400 meter clocking 45.35 seconds. Bolt's runs were a significant improvement upon the previous records, beating the 400 meter record by almost a second and.200 meter best by more than half a second. Bolt decided to focus on 200 meter and to improve his time in this event. Under the guidance of new coach Fitz Coleman, Bolt turned professional in 2004, beginning with the CARIFTA Games in Bermuda. Usain became the first person to run 200 meters with sub 20 seconds. He took the world junior record with a time of 19.93 seconds. In the month of May in 2004, Bolt had suffered a hamstring injury and ruined the chance to compete in the World Junior Championship. Luckily, he was still chosen for the Jamaican Olympic Squad. Later that year, Usain Bolt was given a chance to compete in the 2004 Athens Olympics. Although, he was inhibited with a leg injury and was eliminated in the first round of the 200 meter event with a disappointing time of 21.05 seconds. American colleges offered Bolt track scholarships to train in the United States while continuing to represent his country, but Bolt refused them all. He stated that he was content and to stay in his country. In 2005, Bolt was handled by his new coach Glen Mills. Mills recognized Bolt’s potential and began training in preparation for the upcoming athletic competition. Bolt joined the Racers Track Club and partnered with more seasoned sprinters such as Kim Collins and Dwain Chambers. Misfortune awaited Bolt at the next major event, the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki. Usain felt that both his work ethic and athleticism had much improved since the 2004 Olympics, and he saw the World Championships as a way to live up to expectations, stating, "I really want to make up for what happened in Athens. Hopefully, everything will fall into place". Usain was qualified with the time of sub 21 seconds, but he suffered an injury in the finals and finished in last place with a time of 26.27 seconds.
Injuries were preventing him from completing a full professional athletics season, and the 18 year old Bolt still had not proven his mettle in the major world-athletics competitions. He was involved in a car accident in November. Even though he suffered only minor facial lacerations, his training schedule was further upset. After that, Bolt was less enthusiastic, and demanded that he feel comfortable in his sprinting. He suffered another hamstring injury in March 2006, forcing him to withdraw from the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, and he did not return to track events until May. After his recovery, Bolt was given new training exercises to improve flexibility. Bolt claimed his first major world medal two months later at the IAAF World Athletics Final in Germany. He passed the finishing post with a time of 20.10 seconds, gaining a bronze medal in the process. The IAAF World Cup in Greece yielded Bolt's first senior international silver medal. Mills complied with Bolt's demand to run in the 100 meters.
In 2007, the silver medals from the 2007 Osaka World Championships boosted Bolt's desire to sprint, and he took a more serious, more mature stance towards his career. Bolt started the season competing in the 400 metres in order to improve his speed, winning two races and registering 45.54 seconds in Kingston.  Bolt won the race in 150 meter the fastest time ever recorded for 150 meters with a time of 14.35 seconds. Fast forward to 2009, Bolt competed in the World Championships and was held in Berlin, Germany. The World Championships were held during August at the Olympic Stadium. The final competition for the 100 meter dash was the first time that Usain Bolt and Tyson Gay had met during the season, and Bolt set a new world record which stands to this day with a time of 9.58 seconds to win his first World Championship gold medal. He also hoped to crack Michael Johnson’s world record of 19.32 in the 200, set during the 1996 Summer Games. A week later, Usain was at it again, he won the 200 meter dash with the time of 19.19 seconds, setting a new world record. He finished in 19.19 seconds, shaving 0.11 seconds of his previous mark. Usain proved prophetic. Heading into the 2012 summer olympic games, Usain was qualified to compete in the London Olympics to represent his country. In the 100-meter final, Usain finished the race with 9.63 seconds setting the new olympic record. Usain followed that up with a time of 19.84 seconds in the 200 meters. Usain went after his sixth career gold medal a few days later in the 4 x 100 relay. He joined Blake, Michael Frater and Nesta Carter to smash Jamaica’s year-old world record with a time of 36.84 seconds. Usain Bolt got 3 gold medals in the 2012 London Olympics. At the 2016 Rio Olympics, Bolt won the 100 metres gold medal with a time of 9.81 seconds. Bolt became the first athlete to win the event three times at the Olympic Games. Bolt followed up his 100 meter win with a gold medal in the 200 meter with the time of 19.79 seconds which also makes him the first athlete to win the 200 m three times at the Olympic Games. At the 2017 World Athletics Championships, Bolt won his heat uncomfortably after a slow start in 10.07 seconds. In his semi-final, he improved his time to 9.98 seconds but he was beaten by Christian Coleman by 0.01. That race broke Bolt's 4 year winning streak in the 100 meter. Bolt participated as the anchor runner for Jamaica's 4×100-metre relay team in both the heats and the final. Jamaica won their heat comfortably in 37.95 seconds. In what was intended to be his final race, Bolt pulled up in agony with 50 metres to go and collapsed and limped to the track after what was later confirmed to be another hamstring injury. He refused a wheelchair and crossed the finish line one last time with the assistance of his teammates Omar McLeod, Julian Forte, and Yohan Blake. It was disappointing and a sign of him that his job was already done and he knew that it was the time to retire. It was the last race seeing Bolt competing in the track. Usain doesn’t think limits and in his training, he stated that, “Your conscience speaking, stop running, retire and go play football.” Usain Bolt has called time on his bid to become a professional football player, saying "it was fun while it lasted." The Jamaican spent eight weeks at A-League club Central Coast Mariners. During Bolt's time with the club, he played in two pre-season friendlies, netting twice against Macarthur South West. He once said, “Worrying gets you nowhere. if you turn up worrying about how you’re going to perform, you’ve already lost. Train hard, turn up, run your best and the rest will take care of itself.”

ART SCHOOL | Q&A w/ FRENCH (UK)
Influenced by heavy metal, fantasy artwork, and 80′s skate graphics. artist Richard Sayer, aka FRENCH, summons through his art the images of decrepit skulls, mummified skeletons, and creatures from the deep abyss, all with a “good dose of dayglo colours.” Not only one thing, FRENCH has been taking his dark arts to various mediums from animation, claymation, printmaking to textiles. His works have been shown all over the world, his graphics have appeared for various skate companies and brands –from Creature, Independent, to Santa Cruz–, and he once had his art show in Sweden visited by band 'Entombed.‘ We’re stoked to chat with FRENCH about his art, his process, and his influences as he gears up for his upcoming art show at New Image Art Gallery Dec. 16th in LA.
Photographs courtesy of the artist.
Introduce yourself.   My name is French, well actually my real name is actually Richard Sayer, but since I was about 12 I’ve had the nick name of French and its just stuck ever since. I got the name ‘cos I bought a t-shirt on holiday in France and then when I came back I got given grief from all the other skaters for buying it. There’s a long standing resentment between the English and a the French a little like the States and Canada, so I guess it was meant as an insult to call me 'French’. I’m an artist / illustrator based in the UK, but I just spent the past 3 and half years living in Melbourne, Australia.  I make artwork for many different brands and industries, including the skate industry, fashion, print, music and advertising.
I run a small skateboard brand with my friend Alex Irvine called Witchcraft hardware. I currently make all the artwork for an Australian brand called 'Death Rites’ run by my friend Shawn Yates.
I exhibit my artwork widely, I have exhibited in the states, Europe, Asia, Australia, Israel and the UK. More recently my work is generally a bit darker, looks a bit like a cross between old metal album art, fantasy artwork and skate graphics from the 80’s but with a sense of humour and a good dose of dayglo colours. I’ve just started to work more with ceramics and also with animation as well. I like to work in many different fields and medias and I think that helps improve my work in all areas.
Your drawings are always filled with rad imagery like skulls, skeletons, dragons to crazy creatures.  What were your early influences art wise? I grew up surrounded by heavy metal records and music, my brother was a huge metal fan, which caused me to be. He was also super into 'Fighting Fantasy’ books, 'Warhammer’ , 'Dungeons and Dragons’ & all kinds of fantasy stuff, I think that just filtered its way into my brain and seeps out through my artwork. Obviously skateboarding and the artwork involved in that was a massive influence on me, when I was a kid I was obsessed with old Santa Cruz graphics and as I got older I was always more drawn to the skulls and puss versions of graphics, rather than the clean edge stuff. I grew up in a military town in the south of England so I think being surrounded by war monuments, soldiers and those sort of images it brought me more visually to it. My brother used to make me watch movies after school, before my mum got home from work, there would be a lot of John Carpenter movies, Arnie, horror movies of the 90’s had so many rad monster and animatronics that I think thats stuck with me as well, the covers for those old VHS tapes we seriously imaginative.
What are your all time favorite materials you like to use? Any new mediums you’re interested in trying? I like working in pencil first and then ink over the top. Recently I’ve started to paint in colours to the artwork, I wouldn’t say it was painting as I just add areas of solid colours, nearly always dayglo or fluorescent paints. Saying its not painting, I think everything I do is drawing, for example I just started to make some ceramic pieces and I definitely come at 3D in the same way as I would drawing, but I think that makes it my own. I’m interested to see what the ceramic works come out like in the end as its still early days and I haven’t fully glazed a piece yet.
You’ve created art for tons of things from skateboards to albums to clothing. How did you get started creating graphics or art for some of your favorite brands?  And tell us about your current or upcoming collaborations with Vans? I got started making artwork for people way back in the days when you had to show people a physical portfolio. I actually used to make post cards and small zines and then go and look up peoples details in Borders, like look in the magazines I liked for the art directors details and then send them a zine and post card and ask if I could take them my portfolio. I also used to just send people my zines and then call the office and see if they’d got it and if I could come and see them. I used to send so much stuff it was mad, it was a bit like 'if you through enough mud at the wall it starts to stick’ and I got work from a few people and from then on it kinder worked for me.
I think the best way of getting work, is by having work. You do one job for one brand, people see it and want something from you and so on. I worked in a few different skate shops and at a skate distro as well so I got to know people at brands I liked and respected and sent them my work and then I gradually got more work in the skate industry. That’s pretty much how I got to do work for Creature, Independent, Santa Cruz, Real etc. I met Nick Street & Jasper Jones who worked for Vans europe and they started to hook me up with small jobs for Vans and gradually I got more and more through Vans, not just in Europe but also in the states and world wide. It’s funny, cos I actually worked in the Vans store when it first opened in London.
I’m currently making work for a solo exhibition at New Image Art in Los Angeles which opens in December and Vans have very kindly offered to support the project and help me make a bunch of artwork for the show. I making drawings, animations, ceramics, enamel wall hangings, trophies, flocked screen prints and bunch of weird and wonderful merch. I’m really excited for it all, as well as stressed about making all this stuff. Recently you’ve been making some giant prints which we’ve seen on your IG.How did this come about? What’s your background with print making? How’d you get into it? The big dayglo paper ones? Yeah that was purely that I was having a few exhibitions in skate shops and smaller shop venues when I lived in Aus and I found that trying to sell original artwork to skate kids or metal heads is dumb. They can’t afford to buy originals and I can’t afford to sell it that cheap, but if I can make a print or zine and sell it for the price of a beer or a board then that audience is stoked. I’d rather be able to give something to those guys that love what I do and want to support it, but might not have a the cash to buy an original. I was working on and off at my friends printers in Melbourne and he just said that he would make me some huge digital prints on the fluro paper, the same as they used for band bill board posters and so I made a few and people seemed to dig them, so I made more. Its fun, cos its digital, theres no real set up cost and you can make as few or as many as you like. So if no one seems to like one image you can just ditch and make another. Also I really liked the bright coloured papers and the black ink, its a bit like a 1 colour black light print.
What’s your process like for making art?  Do you keep a sketchbook or just get at it in the studio? I usually just work in my studio, in my house. I often work from reference images and pull together images and photos in photoshop and then draw from that in pencil, then re-work it again in pencil, adding the detail and finally ink it. If need extra computer stuff I scan it and do that after.
Who are some of your favorite artists you think folks should check out? Some my current fav’s are : Parker Jackson, Daniel Cantrell, Ramesh Mario Nithiyendran, Grady Gordon, Will Sweeney, Ragnar Persson, Paul Parker, Aaron Storck.
What are your favorite kind of Vans? I always skate in black and white original old schools or sk8 hi’s, I don’t do colours. But since the new pro’s came out I’ve been really into them, the inner sole has saved my knees.
Can you tell us your best or weirdest art story? I dunno if I have any weird ones really, its all pretty boring really, I just make artwork. I have a ton of weird skate trip stories, drunken stories, but art ones not really. Once one of the dudes from the band 'Entombed’ came to my art show in Sweden?
What’s on the horizon for 2018? What you super stoked on coming up? I dunno yet, I’m just trying to get to the end of 2017 and make the exhibition at New Image Art the best I can. I’ll keep you posted!

🏆 This trophy is for all of you that are reading this right now. I’m blessed to have a following of legends that support me and give me feedback when I need it. . I’ve got so much going on right now and it’s kinda awesome! Moving to a city was always on the bucket list and I had some apprehensions and I suppose in honesty some expectations. It’s been well and truly a whole new world for me and absolutely not what I was expecting! . Hard to know where exactly to start or finish this thought process even though I know I keep teasing towards a piece on it! Good news is I’m about to launch my new website that will include my blog and be the outlet to express myself without character limits or social expectations. The deal will be that if you show up, you’re ready to hear my authentic voice and I can’t f*#king wait! . It will also house my new online store! I’ve got a bunch of stuff I want to share with the world and if I can make a couple of bucks to continue my true expression and give back; I’m doing that! . I’ll also be offering photography mentoring to help people get off Auto and/or level up their own creative expression with a camera. . The website will also be much much more than just Russ the photographer (which is such a limited part of who I am it’s why I’m branching out from my photography brand). As I reflect on the change of direction and intensity my life has taken in the last 18 months, the lessons I’ve learned and the work I’ve done, I realise that it’s absolutely not without significance. And from channeling my authenticity in my interactions. it has become very apparent that I have a gift to help and empower others in this lifetime. This isn’t something I’m taking lightly and I cant wait to share more as it evolves. . Having said that I’m so happy and grateful to be shooting again and in my city of birth! So much variety and opportunity here!! Not to mention the people. Honestly, to be surrounded by family and my oldest friends is something else. . K, so stick around legends cos I feel I’m just warming up and I can’t wait to level up our relationship!! . #russbenningphotography #russbenning #packoflegends (at Melbourne, Victoria, Australia) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bt-uA54H_U3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1h1vgue0863hk

DAY 10
Left Wayne and Megan at Cowell who, at the suggestion of Malcolm T (PM), went to learn once again where the black, red and green wires go. Megan and Wayne meanwhile took the Lucky Bay ferry complete with the Tandem Telstra Trailer to Wallaroo and then into Adelaide. The rest of ‘That Lot” drove to Port Lincoln stopping in at Arno Bay and Tumby Bay.  We settled into the Hilton Motel where Jim and Sandy, Bill and Beth took advantage of the basement suites whilst Gary and Julie had a more conventional room.   Drove over to Coffin Bay where we had lunch – oysters natural and sea food at Café 1802 looking out over The Great Southern Ocean. Travelled back to Port Lincoln for the night and afternoonzees drinks included waiting for the Pink Moon that never eventuated. Dinner that night was interesting with the largest but thinnest schnitzel you have ever seen. About the size of a pair of thongs and just as tough too!
DAY 11 Left Gary and Julie in Port Lincoln to see more of the sights of the area and to visit their old friends while the remainder of That Lot - Bill and Beth, Jim and Sandra headed back to Cowell to buy some oysters for the ferry trip across Spencer Gulf from Lucky Bay to Wallaroo.  Beautiful day and worth the trip.  Then drove down to Glenelg timing our arrival to meet with Adelaide’s peak hour traffic.  Phones flat, GPS recalcitrant, drivers and passengers a little tense. Nice to catch up with the vast majority of MG members and then out to dinner taking in the sunset from Glenelg water front
DAY 12 Jim and Bill set off to help maintain the profitably of Supercheap and Repco and to do some maintenance on their cars. Meantime Beth and Sandra did some retail therapy in nearby Glenelg. Gary and Julie rejoined the party later that day after driving around the top of Spencer’s gulf from Whyalla.
DAY 13, 14, 15, 16 MG National Meeting Thought we should put Wayne out of his misery and let him know that the puddle of oil under the two toned green TF20 in the Telstra tandem trailer that had it tethered, was not so much engine oil but rather the consistency of a little bottle of oil that may or may not reside in a two thousand and twelve Toyota Hilux toolbox.   Needless to say, the look of relief was spectacular.  Megan said she hadn’t seen Wayne look that relieved since the little stick came back negative.  Wayne said, ‘With friends like that who needs drip trays’. Jim maintains that he tried desperately to stop Gary and Megan from performing such a nasty trick but to no avail! Another successful meet for That Lot Wayne was the unsung hero wining everything, showing shrewd judgement by updating his trailer to the infamous Telstra Tandem Trailer which delivered the TF in terrific condition complete with white wall tyres.   Behind our Perpetual Trophy winner stands the Magnificent Megs attending to all the minute detailing.  The additional space in the trailer was just enough to store the innumerable number of trophies he had to take back with him. Telstra will be pleased! Jim once again picked up the gold medal in concourse while Bill was awarded the bronze in concourse, silver in the motorkhana and along with Beth’s invaluable assistance picked up the gold in the observation run. Graham and Bev Hoyle who had to cancel their trip due to a little puff of wind called Debbie, also picked up the “Hard Luck Trophy” The highlight of the meet must surely be the theme evening.  Who will ever forget the Australian Swim Team ……  sorry, the Minions. Surely congratulations are in order to Pat Walker, who, every year endeavours to make us look silly, really excelled herself in 2017. Great night, good friends, good fun! If there was a trophy for best dancers, Queensland would have won that too!  Those Minions know how to move. It should, however, be noted that the competition were real Wallys.
DAY 17 Enjoyed our farewell breakfast at the Glenelg Club and took our separate ways with Wayne and Megan heading to Sydney, Jim, Sandy, Gary and Julie taking off to celebrate a 1st and a 40th birthday party in Melbourne with Gary and Julie’s granddaughter and daughter in law and Jim and Sandras’ 45th wedding anniversary. They traveled by the Coorong and the Great Ocean Road. Bill and Beth took a respite in McLaren Vale and then headed home. All members of That Lot made it home safe and sound ready for the next adventure.
THE NEXT SEGMENT IS BOUGHT TO YOU BY THE LETTER A (and Telstra of course)
Altogether the Adelaide trip was an aphrodisiac of adventure.  Alternate itinerarys were abundant and aspired to be a great antiseptic for apathy. Acquaintances became allies. Associates became Alter egos. More importantly, accomplices became alibis! Our almighty automobiles ( F20 included Jim!!!) aided in the aesthetics of abundant Australian atmospheres. Had we been on aeroplanes we would have accrued ample points to enhance one’s arithmetic. One could not easily ascertain if the MG A had alloys or was an automatic as it ascended areas of inclination with agility, ease and acceleration. Aside from a small acclivity at Ouyan of course!
Alas, we had to acquiesce to the abatement of our Adelaide adventure.  Anguish not, dear friends, for we will adjourn at an alternate time and place elsewhere with analogous automotive objectives to accommodate our itinerant ways. Auf Wiedersehen. Au Revoir. Adios. Adieu. Alleluia! AMEN.

All-Star Reliever Pat Neshek Buys Waterfront Mansion in Florida
Tony Firriolo/MLB Photos via Getty Images
The wins are piling up for All-Star reliever Pat Neshek.
He was part of a gold medal performance at the recent 2017 World Baseball Classic, and in December the reliever added a new mansion to his trophy case.
The purchase of a $2 million home in Melbourne Beach, FL, was a win for the right-hander out of Madison, WI. The home, built in 1998, originally hit the market in 2015 for $2.6 million, which means the Philadelphia Phillies‘ hurler scored a deal.
The two-story mansion sits on the banks of Melbourne’s Indian River. It has five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The master suite has his-and-her walk-in closets and bathroom with jetted tubs and double sinks.

Inside, the open floor plan features a kitchen with a wet bar, pantry, breakfast bar and nook, plus an adjacent dining room. There’s also an office/library, formal living room, great room, and laundry room.
Outside, there’s a patio, pool,  balconies, and barbecue.
Neshek, a 10-year MLB veteran, has a lifetime 28-19 record with a 2.93 ERA. His best MLB season came in 2014, when he recorded a 1.87 ERA as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals. He would make his first and only All-Star team that season. After a pair of years with the Houston Astros, Neshek signed a one-year deal with the Phillies worth $6.5 million.
Off the field, he’s known as one of the sport’s most prominent collectors of autographed baseball cards—and now he has a place to store his massive collection.
