“HANBIN DIDN’T COME IN TODAY,” Jiwoong says in lieu of a greeting as soon as you enter the back of the store.
You flip through the café’s records book, noting down your time of arrival. Jiwoong can yap about Sung Hanbin all he wants, but you won’t let that stop you from getting paid.
“What does that have to do with me?” You shoot back, tying up your apron.
Jiwoong shrugs. “You guys are close, right? I thought you’d know what’s up.”
You scoff. You and Hanbin may have been close once, but that was before he started coming for your position.
“Keep it up, Hanbin!” Jiwoong claps Hanbin on the shoulder as he finishes taking a customer’s order. “Engaging with customers and making them feel connected to the store is one of our most important values.”
“Thanks, Jiwoong,” Hanbin beams, the sight of his dimples causing butterflies to take flight in your stomach, for whatever strange reason. That is, until Jiwoong’s next words.
“With how much improvement you’re making, you might just be up for Employee of the Year.” Jiwoong winks. Your jaw drops to the floor. Jiwoong doesn’t notice your mouth hanging open and simply returns to making drinks like he didn't just shatter your entire world.
“What the hell!” You call out indignantly. “Why would he get Employee of the Year?”
Jiwoong turns to look at you like he’s just remembering your presence for the first time.
“Well, Hanbin’s been learning very quickly since he joined. He’s made a lot of improvement and the customers love him.”
“He served a frozen sandwich the other day!” You cry out. You remember it clearly — the customer had approached you with a furious glint in her eyes, demanding to know why her sandwich wasn’t heated. Hanbin had popped up behind you to apologize for his mistake, and a blush immediately overtook her face as she shoved the sandwich into her mouth, claiming she preferred it frozen anyway.
“That was last week! I’m a changed man now,” Hanbin insists.
“The award should not go to him,” You splutter at Jiwoong. “I can talk to customers too!” You shove Hanbin away as the next customer in line approaches the register.
“Hi, could I please get an iced matcha latte, and a—”
“Hi, how was your day?” You interrupt loudly. Jiwoong slaps a hand to his mouth to stifle a poorly-contained laugh. The girl’s eyes go wide as she takes in your expression, her gaze flitting nervously between you and the door, like she’s considering bolting out of the shop.
“Sorry, don’t mind her. She means well,” a smooth voice interrupts. Hanbin slides back to his position on the register, his hand circling your waist as he gently eases you to the side.
You huff. “I can handle myself on register!”
Hanbin’s hand shifts to your lower back as he leans over to whisper to you. “You’re staring the poor girl down like she just murdered your family. I got this.”
True to his words, the girl visibly relaxes when Hanbin takes over and begins to make conversation. Your cheeks grow hot at the gesture. You should be angry, but Hanbin’s hand is warm on you and his shoulder is knocking into yours and you can’t seem to think straight.
Hanbin leans close again, and your brain short-circuits.
“I’m coming for your award,” he breathes cheekily into your ear.
The giddy feeling in your chest immediately dies on the spot.
You scowl at the memory, your knuckles turning white as you tie the strings of your apron tighter. Jiwoong raises an eyebrow, reminding you of his question.
“I’m not speaking to him anymore.” You have to hold back from crossing your arms like an angry child.
“You were fighting him over the register on Wednesday,” Jiwoong points out.
“A lot can change in three days.”
Jiwoong sighs. “Seriously, do you know what’s up? He hasn’t called or texted at all.”
That makes you pause. Ever since your current feud with Sung Hanbin, he became particularly more committed to “beating” you at work, whether it was clocking in earlier than you, going beyond the necessary opening requirements, or covering more shifts than usual. For him to not show up to work without any prior notice or explanation — maybe there is something wrong.
You relent. “I’ll go check up on him after my shift, okay?”
A Cheshire grin spreads across Jiwoong’s face. “So much extra effort,” he muses.
“We live in the same building,” you deadpan. You check your hair in the small mirror on the wall before heading to the front of the store for your shift.
“I didn’t even tell you to go check up on him!” Jiwoong calls to your back. You give him the finger in return.
“Hanbin, open up!” You yell, pounding on his door for what feels like the millionth time. You press your ear to the wood, but hear absolutely nothing.
“I can see your Snap location!”
Then, a rustle.
You hear the creak of a bed, and the sound of soft footsteps gradually approaching closer. The door swings open, revealing Sung Hanbin in his pajamas.
“You were in bed the whole time?” You shriek. “Jiwoong was worried sick! He was acting like you dropped off the face of the Earth when you didn’t contact anyone!”
Hanbin wordlessly turns around, making a beeline away from the door. You huff, following him inside his dorm without another thought.
“You’re just going to leave when I’m talking to you? Look, I get it if you don’t want to interact with me, but you shouldn’t ghost your manager. Isn’t that—”
Hanbin stumbles into the bathroom and slams the door shut on you. Realization dawns upon you when you hear retching from the other end. The puzzle pieces slot into place — his glazed eyes, paler-than-usual face, and complete lack of energy.
“Hanbin?” You ask, your voice softer than before. No response. “Do you need any help?”
“No,” Hanbin whispers faintly behind the door.
“Okay,” you respond uneasily, “but I’m staying here until you come out.”
You take his soft sigh as affirmation, and immediately pull out your phone to text his roommate.
you: wya??
taerae: staying w my aunt for the weekend taerae: why whats up?
you: hanbins sick
taerae: oh shit taerae: well. gl to him
you: 😭 you: do you have medicine
taerae: no 😂 taerae: wait actually taerae: check the bottom drawer on my desk
you: found it ty
You gather whatever medicines look helpful from Taerae’s drawer, then grab water from the fridge. Soon enough, you hear Hanbin moving behind the door, followed by the flush of the toilet and water running from the sink. He emerges from the bathroom, his face glistening with water droplets. He looks tired in a way you’ve never seen before as he trudges past you and collapses at the foot of his bed.
He groans softly at the hard surface, but makes no move to get up. You crouch down to the ground, pressing your hand against his forehead in concern.
“Hanbin,” you gasp. “You’re burning up.”
Hanbin makes a pitiful noise, shifting so he’s pressing his flushed cheek to the cold tile. You loop your arms through his and haul him to his feet.
“You missed the bed,” you try to joke, but even you can hear the terribly masked worry in your voice. Hanbin slumps onto the mattress, and you carefully pull the covers over him despite his small sounds of protest. He’s clearly not concerned enough to do anything more, so he mutters incoherent nonsense under his breath and then closes his eyes.
You can’t help the minuscule twitch of your lips at the sight, but you turn back to the medicine bottles before you can allow yourself to dwell on it.
Once you’ve arranged an assortment of pills and the water, you gently shake Hanbin, whose eyes are still shut.
“Sit up,” you urge, tapping his shoulder. Hanbin cracks open an eye, sulking. Regardless, he complies, sitting up and fully opening his eyes. “Take these.”
His frown deepens, but his gaze scans your face and he obeys without another word.
“How long have you been sick like this?”
Silence.
“When’s the last time you ate?” You try instead. Hanbin pauses, like he’s taking a moment to genuinely think about it, then shrugs blankly. “Hanbin, you have to eat!”
“Not hungry,” he mumbles.
“This isn’t up for debate,” you shoot back. “I’ll go grab you something, so stay here, okay?”
Hanbin nods, sinking back into bed. You shoulder your bag and search for his phone and keys, finding them on his desk.
“Here,” you say, tucking his phone under his pillow. “Call me if you need anything. I’m taking your keys so you don’t have to let me in. Take a nap, and I’ll be back soon.”
Hanbin only buries his face further into the pillow. You refill his water and adjust the room temperature before slipping on your shoes at the front. You helplessly turn back to look at him once more, like a compass straying north. Then, you leave.
When Sung Hanbin first walked into Say Yes! Coffee with a stunning resume and even more stunning smile, you recognized him instantly.
You had met Hanbin in the beginning of your sophomore year on a Thursday night, when the noise from the room above yours was becoming unbearable.
You had stormed up the stairs in your pajamas, too tired to care about appearances as you incessantly knocked on the door. When the door opened to a man clad in all black with an unnervingly handsome face, you faltered slightly. However, the sight of the dim lights and red solo cups behind him rekindled your anger, and you immediately began to tell him off.
He was holding a party on a Thursday night, for god’s sake, couldn’t he at least have waited until the weekend? As you continued on about the lack of consideration for those with Friday morning classes — however small the number may be — your voice got stuck in your throat when the man responded with a dazzling smile.
“Cute,” he had said, causing you to flinch in shock. He agreeably promised to keep the noise down, and with your face heating up from a mixture of embarrassment and surprise, you turned around and left without another word.
You didn’t see him again after that incident, but true to his word, the noise was considerably softer in the following parties. When you saw him again at your workplace, you weren’t even sure if he’d remember you.
However, Hanbin’s eyes had instantly lit up. “Pajama girl!” He’d exclaimed, and your smile dropped.
From then onwards, your relationship had taken a turn. Jiwoong began scheduling the two of you for almost every shift together, allowing you to witness every step of his journey — from training, to slowly taking over register, to becoming a pain in your ass. It almost made you sentimental, thinking about how much you’d gotten to see.
With the increased shifts came increased shenanigans during breaks, from ridiculous drink concoctions to espresso shot chugging competitions. Eventually, these were followed by unexpected knocks on your door and boba runs between classes.
Hanbin would let you into the dance studio, smirking at your reactions in the mirror whenever he caught you staring as he practiced. You allowed him to tag along on your trips to the library, even though he would use the soundproof study room to loudly poke fun at you while you would fret over your lab reports and problem sets.
Despite the vast differences in your majors, you still had the common denominator of a shared dorm building. This was clear every time Hanbin would knock on your door to drag you to his upstairs parties to expand your social circle, or when you would knock on his to deliver successful baking experiments.
In your second semester, he joined you in a General Education class that he absolutely did not need to take, and you started going to his open dance classes despite your severe lack of coordination.
So perhaps Jiwoong was right, maybe you were incredibly close — until the possibility of Hanbin winning Employee of the Year became real enough to scare you, until you decided it would be easier to hate him. (Was it Employee of the Year that you were afraid of, or something else?)
You reenter Hanbin’s dorm with a giant thermos of steaming hot soup, an extra blanket, and an assortment of items from the nearby drugstore. You dump the contents onto the table, wincing at the amount. You may have gone slightly crazy and swept nearly everything off the shelves at the pharmacy, but you convince yourself they’ll be necessary.
When you enter his room with the food, you’re surprised to find that he’s already awake. His brows furrow slightly at the sight of you.
“I brought you soup,” you explain, nodding at the bowl in your hands. “Eat.”
While the Hanbin 30 minutes ago was so sluggish he could barely keep his eyes open, this Hanbin is uncannily alert. His eyes dart back and forth between you, the soup, and the medicines scattered across his desk. He opens and closes his mouth, like he’s searching for the right words.
“Why’re you doing this?” A strange question to settle on, but you smile at him softly.
“Why wouldn’t I be?”
“I don’t understand,” he replies, his gaze wary.
You frown. “You’ve done the same for me. Remember when I got super drunk at Matthew’s and you brought me home?”
Hanbin goes silent.
Things like this between you and Hanbin are never questioned — they always go without saying. He threatens you at work, but he still picks you up when you drink too much. You fight him over the register, but you still sit next to him in class and watch him from the back of the dance studio. You’re still here, because you know Hanbin would be no different.
“You don’t owe me for that,” Hanbin blurts out, red creeping up his cheeks.
“I don’t think of it like that. I’m here because I want you to get better,” you say, holding out the bowl of soup to him. A peace offering.
Hanbin hesitates, then accepts it, blowing on it to cool it down and taking a sip. He hums in satisfaction, then shovels the rest down his throat within a minute. You gape.
“Slow down,” you scold, remembering the vomiting from earlier. You feel a pang of guilt realizing how hungry he must’ve been, motionless in his bed without the energy to eat.
Hanbin grows more lethargic on his second bowl, his eyelids beginning to sink. He catches himself just before he can allow himself to doze, and you frown. You can’t help but wonder why he’s fighting sleep when it’s what he needs the most — his half-lidded eyes stay focused on you, and then it hits you. Maybe he wants to be alone.
You take the bowl back and pull the covers over him, noting with a twinge of satisfaction that some color has returned to his face.
“I’ll clean things up and then head out so you can get some sleep,” you tell him. Although something deep inside you longs to stay, to stick with him until you’re sure that his fever is gone, you stand up from the chair.
However, Hanbin grabs your elbow before you can fully turn away. When you look at him, there’s a plea behind his eyes that he doesn’t seem keen on voicing. Even when he’s sick, he’s strong, tugging you back towards him until you’re sitting at the edge of the bed.
“Do you want more soup?” You ask, unsure of what he needs from you.
Hanbin shakes his head. “Stay,” he mumbles, so faint that you barely hear it.
Oh.
“Sleep,” you coax him gently, your heart squeezing at his request. “I won’t go anywhere.”
Hanbin searches your face with a hint of desperation, and your breath hitches in your throat at the sparkle in his eyes. (Did Sung Hanbin always look at you like you had hung the moon and stars?)
You don’t have to think about it for too long because Hanbin seems to find whatever he’s looking for in your expression and finally closes his eyes. Sleep pulls him under within minutes, evident in his deeper breathing and the loosened tension in his body.
You brush some of his hair away from his forehead, softening at the lines of his face, more youthful and relaxed with the rest.
In a few minutes, you know you’ll have to clean up, restock the fridge, and find a damp washcloth to reduce his temperature. But you allow yourself a moment to stare, brushing his thumb with your cheek.
Even while asleep, Hanbin leans into the touch, like a flower searching for sunlight, and you flinch. You return to your chair next to his bed and watch him until the sun rises, your heart a jumbled mess.
“Jiwoong.” Hanbin calls out one morning towards the end of his training, when the three of you are opening the store.
“Hmm?” Jiwoong shoots Hanbin a brief glance before going back to busying himself with the espresso machine.
“Why do you always schedule me and Y/N together?”
You turn at the mention of your name, perking up with curiosity. Jiwoong’s brows furrow, almost as though the answer is obvious.
“Y/N is efficient, in pretty much all ways possible. She can make the most drinks in the least time possible, without compromising quality. She’s also great at responding to unexpected situations,” Jiwoong explains. You grin at the compliment but stay silent, sensing he has more to say.
“Hanbin, you’re slower and sometimes you freeze up during mishaps. But you’re good with customers. You know enough about coffee to make recommendations. You’re perceptive, so you’re first to know when we need to restock. All of which Y/N tends to fall short on. Which is fine, of course, because neither of you is perfect.
“But what one of you lacks, the other one makes up. You’re imperfect separately, but a perfect match together.” Jiwoong puts a pause to his grandiose speech to fish for the keys in his pocket. “Anyways, I’m going to unlock the door now.”
You shoot Hanbin an incredulous look, despite the warm feeling spreading throughout your chest. Hanbin looks equally confused, but his gaze softens when you make eye contact. The smile he returns is so tender that you have to look away, your face burning like a star. You go back to wiping down the counters, and avoid thinking about Sung Hanbin and how incredibly red his ears were.
When Hanbin wakes up, you’re reminded of his training days from all those months ago, of his shy but earnest demeanor, unafraid to reveal his struggles and ask for help.
This Hanbin is similarly vulnerable, allowing himself to be open and show you weakness. Allowing you to help him.
“Why’re you looking at me like that?” Hanbin’s voice interrupts your thoughts, and you flush, shaking yourself out of your nostalgia. You press the back of your hand against his forehead, sighing in relief.
“Drink this, it’ll help," you say, avoiding his eyes as you hand him a glass of orange juice. “Your fever finally broke.”
“Yeah, no shit. I’m sweating balls,” he rasps, kicking off the blankets you’d piled on top of him. He chugs down the juice and rubs at his eyes. “What day is it?”
“It’s Sunday evening. You pretty much slept through the whole day,” you grin.
“Did you stay since yesterday?” A hint of guilt flashes across Hanbin’s face.
“It’s fine, I got some work done,” you wave it off, gesturing to your computer propped open on his desk. “Taerae’s gonna be back soon, so I’ll head out, okay? I texted Jiwoong for you, so you’re not working tomorrow. There’s some extra soup in the fridge, so heat that whenever you want.”
You start to gather your things, but Hanbin catches your wrist. His expression is abnormally serious, his eyes piercing holes into yours.
“What’s wrong? Do you need something?” You use your other hand to check his forehead again, but he stops you.
"I need you."
Your mouth falls open. “What?”
Hanbin quickly catches himself. "I need you — to drop this Employee of the Year thing. Jiwoong already told me he's giving it to you."
You're still stuck on the first three words of his sentence, but when the gears in your head finally turn you gasp. It's a lot to process and you shake your head, wondering if you even heard him right. How long were you fighting for an award that was already yours?
"I thought you wanted to win," is all you can think of saying.
Hanbin smiles, warm and soft in a way so familiar that your heart aches. “Y/N, I don’t care about Employee of the Year. Go out with me.”
You find yourself at a loss for words, but Hanbin doesn’t seem to mind as he continues.
“I know I still have a lot to learn, and I didn't even care about the award that much. I was mostly just teasing you, so can we please stop fighting over it? Or else I’ll seriously think you hate me.”
“I don’t hate you,” you choke out.
Hanbin chuckles. “I figured that now. No one spends this much time and effort on someone they hate.”
“Shut up,” you say halfheartedly, your heart hammering in your chest. “Are you serious?” Hanbin tugs you by the hands, enough that you’re sitting on the edge of his bed. All traces of humor vanish from his face as he stares at you intently.
“Y/N, I like you. I thought you were cute ever since you showed up at my doorstep in your pajamas. And I’ve been hopelessly obsessed with you ever since we started working together. Does that answer your question?”
Fireworks explode in your chest as you think back to Jiwoong’s old words.
What one of you lacks, the other one makes up.
When Hanbin is sick, you take care of him. When Hanbin forgets to eat at the dance studio, you bring him food. And despite all your incessant fighting, Hanbin covers for you at the register. Hanbin invites you to parties when you’re cooped up in the library for too long. Hanbin sends you his notes when you doze off in class.
Your heart thumps in your chest as you begin to put together the little moments of your relationship. You were a perfect match the whole time, just as Jiwoong said, only you hadn’t truly realized the weight of his words. You itch with the need to do something, but your hands are still tightly grasped in Hanbin’s and you can’t think of much else to do than to lean down and press your lips to his cheek.
Hanbin makes a small noise of surprise at the contact, his hands slackening around yours. You flush at the warmth of his skin against your mouth, feeling as though you’re floating somewhere above the stars. When you pull away, Hanbin’s eyes are closed, lashes fanned against his cheekbones and face tilted upwards like he’s hoping for more, or savoring it. His eyes are glassy when they finally open, eliciting a giggle from your throat.
“I like you too,” you grin, “if that didn’t make it clear.”
Hanbin smiles then, so wide that you can see his whisker dimples. He pulls you down and on top of him, burying his face in your neck.
“Let me kiss you properly,” he whispers into your skin. You separate from him enough to read his expression, eyes widening at the sudden sharpness in his gaze. His eyes flicker between yours, before darting down to your lips and fixating on them.
“Won’t your mouth taste horrible?” You tease, but you’re already leaning in.
“I’ll make it up to you,” he murmurs against your lips before closing the distance.
A thousand firecrackers flare up in your body when his mouth meets yours. You gasp when his tongue slips into your mouth, leaving behind the pleasantly surprising taste of orange juice.
Sparks fly where his skin touches yours, multiplied by a thousand when he cradles your cheek and deepens the kiss. Your hand moves to the back of his neck, tugging lightly on his hair. The soft groan that emits from Hanbin causes a jolt of pleasure to shudder down your spine, and you instinctively tug harder.
You pull away far too soon to catch your breath, breath hitching at the string of saliva between both your lips.
“Gross,” you lie, but Hanbin’s eyes only darken.
“I wanna do that again.” He leans in again, but you veer away before you can allow your judgment to blur.
“You have to focus on getting better first!” You swat at his hands.
Hanbin pouts. “I’m way better. Stellar, actually.”
“You can kiss me in two days.”
Hanbin’s answering smile is blindingly bright, even though you didn’t say anything particularly funny.
“What is it?” Your pulse races at how he looks at you — like you’re made of every precious thing in the world, like you’re a dream made alive.
“I think this might be the happiest day of my life,” he answers. As he grins at you with the warmth of the entire sun, you realize the fluttering behind your ribcage was never a new feeling — you were just as enamored with him when you first met.
You smile back, bigger than you’ve ever smiled at Hanbin, watching his gaze turn awestruck as a red-hot blush creeps up his cheeks and neck.
“I think it might be mine too.”

Academic Rivals to Lovers prompts
Constantly fighting each other for the top spot on leaderboards
entering the same academic competitions
heated arguments during class debates full of tension
Fighting over the same book that they need in the library
fighting over the same secluded spot to relax/ study in
studying in the library reading until super late, they’re the only people left, seated deliberately far away from each other as they lose track of time. And then they get locked in cause the librarian/ caretaker locked up the place for the night forgetting to check if there was anyone left inside.
when the bickering and fighting in classes get so bad that the teacher yells at them and makes them clean out the classroom together after class as punishment
secretly admiring each other for their intelligence/ grades
forced to tutor someone together by the teacher
A is lacking a subject B is good at, teacher makes B tutor A (or vice versa)
glaring at each other or bumping into each other on purpose in the hallways
Ends up joining the same club, too passionate about it to leave
alternatively, they’re both on the debate team and get in heated arguments during practice
forced to take the same route back home after school
stuck on a group project together and end up carrying the team
alternatively, fighting for leadership/ control within the group
alternatively (again), paired together (instead of a group) and fighting with each other over details and nitpicking each other’s work
forced to sit next to each other in class/ be lab partners for the rest of the term
forced to correct/ grade/ review or look at each other’s work
taking a class test next to each other, A is struggling with a question, B surprisingly helps them

-> NEW ADDITION: "Eyes Don't Lie III: A Worthy Competitor" by Lilo

chapter ii. chapter iii. chapter iv.
yunho’s life post high school was blissful, to say the least.
he went to his dream university and just like you graduated as the top student of that year. not long after that he landed a job at a relatively large tech company and after promotion upon promotion, he became the multi-billion-won company’s CTO. He lived lavishly; a shining example of what he was able to achieve thanks to his determination and unwavering passion.
at least until all of that came crashing down.
because the CEO just had to get involved in activities that became the downfall of the company. unbeknownst to him, the CEO had been part of an underground piracy organisation and sold the private information of millions of users to malicious parties. when the news got to the police, well… it was chaos. law enforcement swarmed the headquarters to detain the CEO as well as anyone that was identified on the list of people involved. a mess that he had no part of.
in hindsight, yunho should be carrying more than the company card and a suitcase when traveling for business trips, during which all this news got out. but how was he supposed to know he’d go from a highly respected worker to jobless in a matter of 24 hours?
and so he found himself in a shitty hotel, paying with the few bills he could find after rummaging around in his bag. the company card declined when he tried booking a different hotel—the fancy one the company had paid for forced him to leave after they found out he was affiliated with that company. for obvious reasons, he had been confused until he checked his phone for the first time that day and found hundreds of notifications flooding the lock screen that depicted picture of him and his best friend.
speaking of his best friend.
as soon as got into his his temporary bedroom—aka the hotel room that smelled so odd he opened the window as wide as he could and stuck his head out to avoid the stench—he called the man he’s known since they were toddlers, ranting about the situation. unsurprisingly, he found the situation immensely funny.
“so you’re poor now?”
“no, mingi, i just don’t have my personal card. i’ll go withdraw money tomorrow morning.” yunho propped his camera up on the small desk opposite the bed, leaning back in the creaking wooden chair as he rubbed at his temples, dreading the oncoming headache he was starting to feel. “but i’m jobless, for now.”
mingi pursed his lips, nose scrunching as he looked at his phone screen, watching how distressed yunho looked. “how can i help you, then?”
a shrug was the first response he got. “just-” the rotating chair squeaked as yunho leaned a bit further to stare up at the ceiling for a moment before reverting his gaze back to his phone. “just talk to me about something else, distract me for now.”
“okay then,” the fake blond’s face brightened and a wide grin spread across his face as he sat up and leaned closer. “so, you know my boss hongjoong, right?”
and so the next ten minutes were filled with him gossiping about how his boss seemed to have the hots for a cute reporter. yunho listened, grateful to get his mind off his current predicament, but barely registered any words being said. he occasionally replied with agreeing hums or other reactions suitable for the context, but he couldn’t help but feel the tell tale signs of his body wanting to rest. mingi seemed to catch on as he paused his story and squinted at his phone screen, catching the way his best friend’s eyes drooped with fatigue.
“hello? earth to yunho?”
he stirred awake, snorting in a breath before yawning. he checked the time on his very expensive watch briefly before his eyes flickered back up to mingi.
“you look tired, man,” worry was written all over his face, sure he could already see dark circles forming under yunho’s eyes. “get some rest.”
“yeah… yeah, that’s a good idea.” yunho spoke through his yawn, hand covering his open mouth.
they said their goodbyes and ended the call. yunho sat in silence for a moment. he turned the chair, inspecting the bed. it was sad, small and pretty empty. wishing he was back home on his soft king sized bed, he poked the mattress, frowning at the firmness before pulling back and looking at the pillows. well, pillow. singular. while the mattress felt to stiff, the pillow the opposite. he got up to check the little closet for another pillow that he could stack on top to add some firmness, but to no avail.
after a moment of hesitation, he decided to ask the guy at the lobby if he could possibly have an extra pillow. before head for the door, he stopped in the bathroom, checking his teeth and brushing his hand through his dark hair, a little overgrown and resembling a mullet. he fixed the tie of his suit that he had yet to take off and left the bathroom, his hand wrapping around the door handle of the room and pulling it open.
as he stepped out, his temporary neighbour seemed to have just arrived. turning to greet the stranger, he stopped in his tracks just as she had.
what a perfect end to his day. the cherry on top, really.
truthfully, he hadn’t given you much thought after your high school graduation. (he actually did. a friend of his went to the same university as you and he’d occasionally ask him if he knew how you were doing). but seeing you now, he realised you hadn’t changed much. of course, you seemed to have a grown a tiny bit and you looked more mature, but those eyes—those soft eyes, so pretty, red and puffy through your tears—were undeniably yours. he recognised you before he recognised the state you were in, a sobbing mess. in all the years he had known you, he doesn’t recall ever seeing you cry. seeing you like this, with flushed and tear stained cheeks, made his head spin for a moment.
before he could open his mouth to say anything, you were gone. he watched the door of your room fall shut, followed by a thud from inside the room. what it may have been—a kick to the wall, a punch, an item thrown across the room—he wouldn’t have been able to tell as he stared at the door dumbly. he wasn’t sure how long he stood there, but what else was he supposed to do when he ran into you of all people in this obscure hotel and somehow ended up next to each other?
watching you disappear through that door reminded him too much of the last time he saw you.
though it had been a warm summer, it rained on the last day of school. having checked the weather, he brought an umbrella with him. but as he watched you stand front of the entrance of the school, alone and looking out into the rain without a jacket, let alone an umbrella, with a conflicted frown and nothing to protect you from the rain but the roof, he found himself caring about you. before he realised it, he stood in front of you, holding out his black umbrella and consequently getting a little wet.
you couldn’t help but stare at him, your gaze switching between his unusually sincere face and hand extending the red handle of the umbrella. you shook your head, insisting that you won’t take it, but he cut you off.
“come on, it’s just an umbrella, i have no problem walking home in the rain.”
“no, please, yunho, it’s your umbrella, i’ll figure something out. you’ll get sick.”
after some more back and forth, he offered a compromise. you could walk home together.
and that’s exactly what the two of you did. you walked side by side, squeezed together under the umbrella, droplets of rain occasionally hitting your right shoulder or his left shoulder. despite the weather, it was oddly peaceful. a steady conversation flowed between the two of you, free of any teasing or insults. you weren’t quite sure why he was being so nice, but you supposed it was the last you’d see each other before heading separate ways.
unfortunately, the two of you thought at the time, you lived in the same apartment building. while you lived on the third floor, he was up on the fifth. he decided it only made sense to walk you to your place first. unlike your walk outside, the short journey from the elevator to your front door was dead silent. even when you got to the front door, neither of you spoke for a moment until he cleared his throat, his voice almost… emotional?
“i guess this is it, huh?”
“yeah… i guess… have fun finding a better, funnier, smarter rival in college.”
“nah, i don’t think i’ll even bother.”
“hm? really? i thought you’re all about that competition.”
“yeah, but you’re the only person worth competing with.”
he’d never forget the way your eyes widened comically as you looked at him after that, a blush so faint it was easy to miss in this horrible lighting. maybe all the people saying you’d make a good couple were on to something. still, he knew you’d never see each other again, there was no point in trying anything. his cell phone rang, interrupting the tense silence. it was his mother, telling him to hurry and get home.
“i… uh, i have to go… but i’ll see you around, someday?”
you smiled, a smile so genuine his stomach did a cartwheel.
“i’ll see you around, someday.”
you stared at each other for a moment, stood across from each other in the hallway. he wasn’t sure what to do. should he hug you? should he just turn and leave? you seemed just as conflicted. after a long minute, you both extended your hands for a handshake at the same time. a small laugh was shared as your hands intertwined in a slow handshake, holding onto each other a few moments too long. his thumb rubbed over the back of your hand gently. he gave it a small squeeze before letting go and bowing his head, winking playfully.
“good luck out there, y/n.”
“likewise, yunho.”
and with the you disappeared through the front door, much like you had moments ago. though at that time you didn’t look so heartbroken. eventually he got himself to put one foot in front of the other and head to the lobby for his original mission.
he thanked the lobby man quietly as he was handed two more pillows, his mind still occupied with you. you’d think that whatever he felt for you on that last day would’ve dissipated by now, but that was quite the opposite. despite it having been so many years, seeing you again felt like a punch to his throat.
on his way back to his room, he thought about knocking on your door for a split second. in the end, he concluded you probably wouldn’t want to talk to him. he wasn’t sure what he would’ve said anyway. hey, it’s really nice seeing you again, by the way did i mention that i’ve realised i had a massive crush on you that time we said goodbye and those feelings haven’t gone away?
no, absolutely fucking not.
he nearly slapped himself at the hypothetical monologue, dragging himself to his hotel room. a soft thump resounded as he tossed the pillows on his bed before undressing and getting under the thin covers. the time it took for him to fall asleep was unclear as he stared up at the ceiling. whoever rented the room above him seemed to want to make a joke in the ground, thundering stomps making the ceiling and his open window shake.
had he not stepped out at that time to get pillow and bumped into you, he would’ve probably been cursing and swearing to himself to get out of this place first thing in the morning. but, considering who his current neighbour was, he couldn’t help but think…
would one or two more days really be so bad?
[ lilo's notes . . . ] hii sorry it took so long to update this, i hope this makes up for it 💔💔 we finally get a little gimped into yunho’s feelings!! yippee!! i’m sorry he comes off as a little stuck up near the beginning, but please understand he went from a luxurious suite to a hotel on the brink of falling apart; i think most people would be a little disappointed 🙏🙏 he’s not a bad guy i promise

You knew it was a bad idea to bring your daughter to your office while you worked but when your fucker of an ex-husband dumped her on you--on his week--and your babysitter gone south for the week, you were out of options.
You knew it was a bad idea but the feeling didn’t cement until you saw her with Jung Wooyoung.
Wooyoung was everything you hated in a coworker. He was lazy, he was always playing around at work and most importantly, he somehow managed to get everything done. As someone who worked diligently at the software company, Wooyoung was the one person you hated to interact with.
So seeing your daughter patiently draw flowers on some printer paper, explaining to him which ones were her favorite and which ones were her Mama’s favorite, hit a nerve.
“Petal, what are you up to?” You chirped, sitting opposite of her at the lunch table.
“I’m teaching Wooyoungie about flowers,” Your daughter informed you solemnly.
Wooyoungie. Uh oh.
You hummed in acknowledgement. Wooyoung wore a tiny smile of smugness which you couldn't contend while in front of your daughter. “Is he listening?” You asked.
Your daughter nodded. “Yes, Mama,” she responded, completely focused on the task at hand, which was struggling to draw the shape of lilies.
“Am I a good listener, Petal?” Wooyoung prompted from your daughter.
You glared over the precious head of your daughter. She was normally very shy, how the hell did he coax her to sit on his lap and draw? Not to mention, you did not appreciate your rival using your pet name for your daughter.
Your daughter stopped drawing and looked up at Wooyoung like he hung the stars in the sky. She smiled brightly and nodded and then went back to her drawing. Fuck.
Wooyoung preened, pleased at the praise. You rolled your eyes. “Well, it’s lunch now, Petal. Remember how Mama said she’d take you to your favorite place?”
“Chicken nuggies, Chicken nuggies!” Your daughter chanted, bouncing in Wooyoung’s lap. “Can Wooyoungie come too?”
“No, Petal, it’s just--” you and me never left your mouth because your daughter threw a fit.
“That’s not fair!” She threw her pencil across the room and raged. “I want Wooyoungie to come!”
You opened your mouth to scold your daughter but Wooyoung somehow got to it first. “Now Petal,” He said patiently. He turned your daughter around so that he could look at her face to face. “That’s no way to act at Mama’s workplace. And we say chicken nuggets not chicken nuggies.”
Oh this bitch. You bristled at Wooyoung correcting your daughter, even though that was exactly what you were going to say. She was your daughter, not his. Who was he--?
Your daughter’s lower lip pushed out, her voice sounding wobbly. “But Wooyoungie!”
Wooyoung shook his head. “Apologize to Mama.”
“Mama,” Your daughter wailed softly, crocodile tears building up at the corner of her eyes.
“You’re forgiven,” You said quickly. “Wooyoungie can come.” You winced at mimicking your daughter.
“Yay!” Tears gone and forgotten, it seemed, as she threw her arms around Wooyoung’s neck and proclaimed him the best.
Lunch went surprisingly well. Wooyoung coaxed your daughter to eat pretty much everything. You had to school your face when he let her feed him. You actually managed to eat your own food since Wooyoung had your daughter preoccupied. Back at the office, you were able to work, even though every so often you looked over your monitor to see Wooyoung and your daughter seemingly having the time of their lives. It grated against your nerves that your daughter was practically in love with your rival at work but you couldn't help but acknowledge how well behaved she was because of his presence.
Before you knew it, it was the end of the day, and a moment you were lowkey dreading. You had to tell your daughter that it was time to say goodbye to Wooyoung and you knew she was going to throw a fit.
“Petal, time to say goodbye to Wooyoung, okay? He’s gotta go home now, we’re done work,” You spoke sweetly to your stubborn daughter.
“No,” Your daughter said petulantly, “I don’t want to.” Her chubby arms were wound around Wooyoung’s neck so tightly, you were surprised he wasn’t choking.
Wooyoung bounced your young daughter in his arms like. “Hear that? She doesn’t want to.”
“You’re not helping things, Wooyoung,” You growled.
“Mama~!” Your daughter started up again. “I’m staying with Wooyoung.”
You winced. “Petal, you can’t stay with Wooyoung, he has his own home to go to, and we do too.”
“Don't want to,” Your daughter refused again.
“She doesn’t want to!” Wooyoung reaffirmed.
You began to rub your temples. Other than ripping your crying child from Wooyoung’s arms, you didn’t know what else you could do.
“Guess you’re coming home with me, huh?” Wooyoung said to your daughter, which caused your heart to leap into your throat. In fact, you were two steps towards him before you could stop yourself.
“Mmmm,” Your daughter agreed, playing with Wooyoung’s necklace.
You set aside your pride and pleaded with your rival. “Wooyoung, please.”
Wooyoung cuddled your daughter to his chest, placing a hand delicately on her head--and over her ears. “Listen, come back to my place. Let her tire herself out and then you can take her home when she falls asleep.”
You raised an eyebrow at him. Wooyoung? Being reasonable?
He had the decency to look slightly bashful. “I kinda egged her on. Let me buy you dinner?”
The look in his eyes was a little too hopeful but you dismissed it. “Fine. But this is a one-off time, Wooyoung.”
Your daughter struggled in Wooyoung’s arms, wanting to hear what the adults were saying. “Wooyoungie’s home?” She said, with almost a similar, hopeful, look in her eyes.
You sighed heavily. “Yes, Petal, we’ll go to Wooyoungie’s.”
You visibly winced at mimicking your daughter again. Wooyoung didn’t let it go a second time, however. He winked at you and said, “Hopefully you’ll start calling me Wooyoungie at work.”
“Don’t even Wooyoung,” You said under your breath.
And Wooyoung had a smug smile on his face the entire elevator ride down.

-: “Look, I’m obsessively hating over you, but it’s nothing more” Enemies to lovers prompts-:
(tw: suggestive)
By @me-writes-prompts
“Well, well, well, if it isn’t the most despicable person on this whole earth…” “Sweetheart, I know I’m your favorite. No need to pretend.”
When their enemy comes to save them instead of their friends and they start falling in love with them>>>>>>
^^“Look, I don’t need your help with this.” “You clearly do. And before you interrupt, I advise you keep shut if you actually want me to do something to help you.”
Gazing at them softly without intending to
“I hate you so much, like, I can’t stop wanting to punch you at the thought of you-.” “I think what you’re describing is symptoms of an obsession. Are you obsessed with me [name]?” “What?! No, absolutely not. It’s normal to think about your enemy all the time because you want to fight them. Right?” HEAVY SILENCE.
“Listen, I would rather dig my own grave than marry them. You see how much I dread it?” “Uh huh, you said this before kissing them last time.” “Shut up. That was only one time. God.” “One time is too many in your case. Don’t you think?”
“This is too close. You’re too close.” “Well, it wasn’t exactly my idea to hide in this closet, now was it?”
Accidentally ending up in the same apartment as roommates and slowly realizing that they are both not so bad after all
^^when one has nightmares, the other one offers cuddles
“Wow, um wow.” They say while they check they check them out. “What?” “You look horrible.”(liar) “Did you mean hot?” “Yeah.” They reply as they get distracted by the other pulling them close by their waist. (OMGGGGGG THIS)
“You make me want to com-.” “Oh, do I now, love? I didn’t know you desired me that way.” They say with a smirk. “No! I meant combust, you idiot!” *blushes*

A little brainrot abt Dr. Ratio (he is kinda giving ‘archmage of the mages tower’ vibes. He acts like he doesn’t care about you but deep down he does! He just doesnt know how to act like it😞)
Not even a year in the relationship yet you already want to divorce him. You can’t stand him! That haughty arrogance of his! It feels like hes belittling you with every chance he gets! Its getting in your nerves! He even acts like you both arent married. Not even a simple greeting. What happened to hi, hello, goodbye, i’ll be away for a while, i’ll be home late. The food that you you leave for him for dinner always goes cold and uneaten. He just comes and go and do as he please! You know its a marriage of convenience, it probably means nothing to him, its just empty promises written in a paper after all. But you still want to be civil with him, he’s the man you married after all. But you couldnt take it it anymore! So, when the chance presented itself, you stormed in his office slamming the divorce paper in his desk.
“I want a divorce” you crossed your arms “i’m done with this marriage, sign it”
He looked at the paper for a moment and then at you. You gripped your left arm, feeling nervous under his stare. But you feel hopeful, he’ll probably sign it. There’s no strings attached anyways. But to your dismay he merely put the paper to the side and went back to whatever he was working with
“I wont sign it and as you can see I’m quite busy, please see yourself out”
Yep. You feel like you’re going insane
#this is a little something i came up with while playing the new SU mode lol#ever since dr.ratios appearance i havent stopped thinking abt him#i feel like hell do quite well with rivals to lovers trope but the ‘rivalry’ is onsided on readers end#if im being honest tho i didnt like dr.ratio at first💀 i feel if his my classmate hell be my natural enemy fr💀#i cant stand him grrrrr but my god is he🤧#he also goes well with the fck buddy trope#and the childhood friends trope but you forget/dont recognize him bcs hes so different from when he was a kid??!#hsr x reader#dr. ratio x reader#star rail x reader#dr ratio x reader#dr. ratio#veritas ratio#yuna works

“You shouldn't waste your time,” Yunho said as he walked into your office, hands tucked into his pants pockets. “No matter how many all-nighters you pull, you won't defeat us.”
You ignored your rival and focused on the code you were typing out on your computer. “Why are you here, Yunho?”
Yunho meandered over to where you were sitting. He leaned in, bracing one hand on your shoulder and the other gripping your computer screen. “To distract you, of course.”
Your company, and Yunho's, were both recipients of a big tech company’s investment. It was a race to create the best new app and win a coveted spot, sponsored by the big company. You and Yunho were programmer rivals. He, of course, was always ahead of you in school but you were determined to beat him here.
You rolled your eyes at Yunho’s comment. “What are you going to do? Whisper naughty things in my ear?”
“Good idea,” Yunho chuckled, “Only I'll do you one better.”
Yunho vacated the spot beside you and moved to somewhere else in the room, somewhere you couldn't see him. All that could be heard in your temporary office at the big tech headquarters was your adamant typing.
And then you heard a groan.
You couldn't help but lean far over to see around your computer monitors, and your jaw dropped to the floor. Yunho had sat on your couch, pulled up his turtleneck to expose his stomach and chest, and was currently undoing the belt to his pants.
“Yunho!” You shouted in alarm.
“If you're paying attention to me, you're not working, are you?” Yunho's lips twisted into a smirk.
Yunho's pants split into a vee to reveal the chubby that was growing in his boxers. You scooched back over so that the screens were covering your view of Yunho. “You're ridiculous. I can't believe you'd stoop so low just to win.”
“Then you really don’t—hnnnn–know me.” Oh God, what was he doing now?
Did you dare look? Did you dare not? What if someone came into the office and saw what was happening? Would you get disqualified? You had to put a stop to this.
You stood up quickly and then missed your first step. Yunho had his dick out of his boxers and was rubbing his hand up and down his length. His dark eyes were glued on you immediately. “What’s wrong, Pixelstick? Like what you see?” You hated that stupid demeaning nickname of his for you but why did it sound so hot coming out of his mouth while he touched himself?
“You sonofabitch,” You cursed him out, “Get off my couch and get out of my office.”
Yunho bit down on his lip teasingly. “Make me?”
“I'm going to kill you,” You vowed. You walked closer to Yunho and kicked his rather large shoe. “Stop playing dirty! It’s not going to work.”
Yunho looked at you then down at his cock. He used his thumb to smear some of his precum along his sensitive head and bucked up into the air. “Tell me you don’t want to wrap your mouth around me right now. That you don’t want to get down on your knees and swirl your tongue where my thumb is.”
Your nails made painful marks into your palms as they curled into two fists. Yunho’s lips parted and he started to breathe out of his mouth. You don’t know what you were thinking, but you lunged to grab Yunho’s wrist to stop him from doing any more and instead, made him jerk his hand upwards. When Yunho moved to yank his hand away, it came back down, making you fall down on top of his thighs. You were inadvertently on your knees beside Yunho’s leg and your head dangerously close to his cock. You couldn’t help but lick your lips. Damn it, Yunho!
“Are you just going to eat me up by looking at me or are you going to do something about it, loser?” Yunho inquired with a laugh.
“Fuck you, Yunho,” You spat, pushing yourself up.
Yunho patted his thigh. “There’s always room for you.”
You moved back to your computer and started back on your code. Surely Yunho would get tired of this charade and leave, right? Wrong.
Yunho took this as freedom to do exactly what he wanted. He moaned loudly, and to make matters worse, he was including you into his delusions now. “Bet your cunt is wet thinking of fucking me, right, Pixelstick?” Yunho let out a shaky exhale. “Fuck, I bet hate sex with you is hotter than anything.”
You swallowed but you didn’t find any moisture in your mouth. “Come on, Yunho, stop this,” You whined.
Yunho groaned and laughed at the same time. “I think you wanna pull at my hair and get me to gasp for you. You’ve always struck me as a girl who knows what she wants. I think you’ve wanted me for a long time.”
You start to squeeze your thighs together and rub your lips together. You could feel wetness pooling in your underwear and you inwardly cursed yourself. Of course, you knew your rival was attractive, in an abstract way that you would never outwardly admit. But listening to him talk like this, the image of his exposed body only on the other side of your monitor, was driving you insane.
You hear Yunho whine next and then hear some shuffling and then there’s no noise in the room because you can't code anymore. Yunho was successfully distracting you.
“Yunho–” You stood up and your breath caught in the back of your throat.
Yunho appeared a bit flushed, his long fingers holding the base of his cock. If you didn’t know any better, it looked like Yunho had just edged himself and was holding himself back from coming. He was really serious about this right now.
Yunho cocked his head flirtatiously at you. “You sure you don’t want to help me out?”
You abruptly sat back down again. The fuck kind of seduction technique was this and why was it working? “No,” You said rather firmly, causing Yunho to laugh again.
“Guess we’ll go again then.”
Yunho groaned loudly and you muffled a whimper of your own, biting down on your finger. Why did he sound so fucking good right now? You were not–could not–think about fucking your rival. You really had code to write, you had people you couldn’t let down, you–
“Your tiny hands look so cute around my cock, loser,” Yunho grunted. He was definitely still masturbating. “Can you even fit me in your mouth? You’re so cute.”
“Yunho, you have to stop this!” You stood up for the umpteenth time.
Yunho’s hand leisurely worked his length. His head was back on the couch, the line of his jaw and his long neck looking delicious. You shook your head. You couldn’t fall for this. “I’ll stop if you prove to me that you’re not turned on by this; that you don’t want to come over and sink on my dick.”
Well, that was going to prove impossible. What if… “If I fuck you, will you leave?”
Yunho raised his head up slightly, raising his eyebrows at you. “Are you offering to fuck me?”
“Yes. No.” You bit down on your own lip in uncertainty. “If I make you cum, will you leave?”
Yunho smirked. “You’re afraid to show me how wet you are, aren’t you? Such a cute loser.”
You stomped your foot in frustration. “If I’ve got to suck you off to get your smug face out of my office, fine.”
Your feet somehow moved all the way in front of Yunho and you dropped to your knees. You pushed his knees far apart to make room for yourself. You knocked Yunho’s hands away from his cock and took him firmly with two, one stacked on top of the other. You avoided all eye contact with Yunho and took the head of him inside of your mouth. You sucked only on his head, your lips finding the seam of his head. You swirled your tongue around there, tasting Yunho. You tried to not squirm because of Yunho’s breathy groan.
“Oh fuck yes,” Yunho moaned loudly.
You ran your tongue along the slit of Yunho’s cock and he bucked into your mouth, making your tongue lie flat along his head. You continued to play with the head of Yunho’s cock with your mouth and tongue, only moving your hands slightly along his length.
“You’re…you’re driving me wild, Pixelstick, I didn’t think you had it in you,” Yunho rasped huskily.
You hoped to get Yunho to come quickly in your mouth but it seemed like since he had been edging himself, he wasn’t quick to release himself inside of your mouth. You whined in frustration and that made Yunho chuckle. “What’s wrong, loser? Are you having trouble? Want me to take care of you?”
You released his cock from your mouth and scowled at your rival. “I’m not having any trouble at all.”
“If you’re shy, I could fuck you without us facing each other. It’s cute you don’t think you can stare me in the eye while I’m balls deep in you, Pixelstick.” Yunho folded his arms behind his head, confident in his words.
You groaned in frustration and left to go find some condoms. Yunho caught your wrist and pulled one from his pocket. “You think I didn’t come prepared? You're a career woman, after all, you’d never risk getting pregnant on a hook up.”
You really didn’t like how well Yunho knew you. “I will get you to come and then you will leave, do you hear me?” You knelt on the couch, thighs against the arm of the couch, as you braced yourself on the tops of the arm. You pulled up your skirt and looked over your shoulder. “Will you hurry up already?”
Yunho split open the wrapper of the condom with his teeth and then slipped on the bright pink condom easily. You turned your head, not needing to see how nimble his fingers were, working on rolling the condom down his length. He probably kept condoms on him because his cock really was that big–damn it!
“Ready for me, loser?” Yunho whispered into your ear. His breath was hot on your ear and the head of his cock rubbed against your cunt, your underwear still firmly in place.
“If you call me loser while we fuck, I will kick you out so fast,” You bit at him.
“So… should I call you lover, instead?” Yunho mused.
You reached around Yunho’s head and gripped his hair harshly in your hand. You brought your lips dangerously close to Yunho’s. “Fuck me or leave, Yunho,” You snarled lowly.
“Yes, Ma’am,” Yunho chuckled.
He pushed your underwear to the side and pushed slowly into you. “Oh fuck,” Yunho cursed again. He fucked you slowly and that made you frustrated instantly.
“Don’t you dare edge yourself inside of me–or edge me!” You shouted.
“You should be groaning, not scolding me. Hmmm, something isn’t right,” Yunho said out loud. He adjusted his stance behind you. He pushed your legs together and pushed your hips further against the arm of the couch. “Oh shit, you’re so tighter like that, fuck, that backfired.”
You would have cackled in glee until Yunho started to move and you squealed in pleasure. Yunho was right. Something about this slight change made everything a little bit more intense. “Did you like that, lover?” Yunho purred from behind you. “Do you want more?”
“This isn’t about me right now,” You said through gritted teeth. “Just fuck me already, Yunho.”
It was getting harder and harder to keep the whine out of your voice as Yunho fucked you. You were trying real hard to keep quiet but the way Yunho was fucking you was so good, it was hard to keep your noises silent.
“You’re going to mark yourself, stop that,” Yunho commanded quietly. He pulled your hand from your mouth and a low whine built up in the back of your throat immediately at the odd gentleness from the man that was constantly poking at you.
“Yu…yunho…” You panted. “Hurry up!”
“Just admit it,” Yunho said quietly, “Admit that you like the way I fuck you.”
You had had enough. You still had code to write, you were turned on beyond reason at the fact that your rival was fucking you in your office right now and you were tired of fighting with yourself.
“Yunho, please,” You begged.
“Please what, lover?” Yunho growled, hips still moving against your ass.
“It’s good,” You whined, “Just make us come.”
“What’s that?” Yunho teased you, “Could you speak up? Did you just say I was fucking you good?”
“Yunho!” You shouted coarsely.
“Say it properly,” Yunho instructed.
“Your dick is fucking me so damn good,” You cooed and Yunho melted against you.
“That’s my girl,” He hummed back at you. “Gonna fuck you into a nice orgasm and melt your stress away, huh? You won’t have a bad thing to say about me then, hmm?”
Yunho’s hands were firm but gentle on your hips as he fucked you from behind. He coaxed you to an almost-orgasm quite a few times, if only to hear you plead and compliment him. Your voice grew hoarse from the amount of times he denied you, and himself, an orgasm, just to get you to say everything he’d been dying to hear.
Yunho had always wanted to be your peer, someone to share the ambition you both carried, but you had always seen him as your rival. So he played your game; played to be the man you continued to see him as. But this time, in this very important race for a coveted contract from the biggest tech firm in the business, Yunho found an opportunity to get everything he wanted.
It had all started with finding you in said office late one night, fingers in your tight little cunt, whining his name. It had been a god awful hour and you had probably been certain that no one was in the building, but Yunho had been double checking the other programmers work and had been dragging himself home when he had heard the small noises coming from your office. He hadn’t meant to spy but when your name had left his lips, he had convinced himself then and there that he would get you to say his name while his actual cock was inside of you.
When Yunho finally let the two of you come, you were sweating and whining and a total mess beneath him. Yunho had not fared any better, breathing heavily and coming so much, he swore the condom would be bursting when he pulled out of you.
“Try to not be so loud when you masturbate in the office next time, huh loser?” Yunho told you as he patted your ass and pulled out.
“You–what? fuck,” You cursed softly. “Is this what this is about?!”
Yunho pulled his phone out of his pocket and airdropped a note with his phone number. “When you decide your fingers can’t possibly do what I can do for you, you message me, how about that, Pixelstick?”
How you managed to fix your skirt, walk back to your station and work on your code was a mystery to you. Especially when you were daydreaming of getting Yunho to come in your mouth next time… wait, there was going to be a next time? Perhaps Yunho had fucked all your common sense out of you, because that sounded like a mistake just waiting to happen.

Asian dramas and Love tropes
There are my favorite characters and their love stories as a list. Enemies to lovers
Drama: Her Royal Highness/长公主在上 Characters: Gu Xuanqing x Li Yunzhen Screentime: Main A boy is sent to be a servant in the unruly princess`s palace in order to find some dirt about her and to help his master to overthrown her, but something goes wrong... The HE is attached.
Drama: The Legends/招摇 Characters: Li Chenlan x Lu Zhaoyao Screentime: Main A leader of a demonic sect died trying to get demonic sword. Her soul returns to the world full of wish to get revenge on the current leader of her sect, who, as she thinks, killed her in the past. Found the way to be close to him, she learns that he wasn't the reason of her death and, moreover, desperately in love with her for many-many years. This is an adaptation of the novel "Ostentatious Zhaoyao", which I love more than a drama, but it's a good story in both variants. The HE is attached (although it`s a little bit obscure in the drama).
Drama: Till the End of the Moon/ 长月烬明 Characters: Tantai Jin x Li Susu Screentime: Main A boy who is destined to become a Demon God and to destroy the World tries to fight his doom. In a process, he falls in love with a transmigrator, who was sent 500 years back in the past to prevent his transformation into a Demon God. The irony is,making him falling in love is the only way to kill him for good... It`s an adaptation of the novel "Black Moonlight Holds the BE Script", which I like way-way-way more than the drama, not the least because the drama has BE and the novel has HE. I just watched it as a visually beautiful fanfic to the novel.
Drama: Love Between Fairy and Devil /苍兰诀 Characters: Dongfang Qingcang x Xiao Lanhua Screentime: Main My favorite drama of all times! Trying to save her love, a girl accidently falls into a secret prison for immortal criminals, revives the most fearsome demon of all times and heals his ability to feel. Later, forced to spend his time together with the girl from the enemy camp, the demon finds out that he actually likes her... The HE is attached. I wrote A LOT about them and made recap of the whole drama from the point of their relationship development in these posts: one, two, three, four, five and six.
Drama: My Journey to You /云之羽 Characters: Gong Shangjue x Shangguan Qian Screentime: Secondary In order to destroy the martial artist's clan, a female assassin was sent in there. While she is trying to seduce one of clan's young masters, he tries to expose her lies, but, eventually, falls in love with her. Unrequited. Maybe. This story has an open ending. My analysis of their relationship is here.
Drama: Butterflied lover /风月变 Characters: Ling Changjin x Bao Zhu Screentime: Secondary A wicked nobleman marries a princess because of her miraculous blood: it`s able to bring his zombie sister back to life. The princess allows him to treat her bad because she has been in love with him for a long time and believes he is a good person. Bit by bit he starts believe in it himself and begins to cherish his wife more... The ending is obscure (in a traditional Chinese way).
Drama: The Blue Whisper /与君初相识 Characters: Li Shu x Xue Sanyue Screentime: Minor A cat demon prince infiltrates the valley of demon hunters in order to set free the great demoness, but falls in love with one of demon hunters. Mutually. The ending is traditionally Chinese - they met again in another life. Т_Т
Drama: Immortal Samsara / 沉香如屑 Characters: Xuan Ye x Ran Qing Screentime: Minor An Asura king infiltrates the Heavenly Realm in order to steal the artifact that can help him conquering the world. The keeper of this artefact is a brave and honest goddess and he can't help but fall in love with her. After, he needs to choose: to be with his lover or to rule the world. He wants all at once, but there is no way to get it all. No HE for this pair. Pride and Prejudice
Drama: Lighter and Princess / 点燃我 Characters: Li Xun x Zhu Yun Screentime: Main A girl from a rich family with an anxious type of attachment falls in love with her classmate from a poor family with an avoidant type of attachment and tries to win his heart. It`s a problematic ship in a full meaning of these words and I like it this way. Yummy! The HE is attached.
Drama: Derailment /脱轨 Characters: Qi Lian x Jiang Xiaoyuan Screentime: Main A boy accidently meets his school sweetheart after many years of radio silence and understands that something is wrong with her. It turns out that her body is occupied by a transmigrator from a parallel world. At first he hates transmigrator for replacing his lover, but bit by bit he learns, that a transmigrator has not only the same appearance but the same habits and way of thinking, and falls in love with this new personality again... The story ends with HE but not in a way that you may think it would.
Drama: The Love by Hypnotic /明月照我心 Characters: Li Qian x Li Mingyue Screentime: Main In order to build relationship between two countries an emperor arranges marriage for his son. His fiancée is from a barbaric tribe: she is good at horse riding and archery, but knows nothing about palace etiquette and ladies stuff. It`s a light and sweet story about finding a path to each other's heart. The HE is attached.
Drama: The Long Ballad /长歌行 Characters: Hao Du x Li Leyan Screentime: Secondary A tsundere of a low background with a poker face does his ruthless job in a court, that's why a young princess thinks he is an awful man and is scared of him. But in reality he is a loyal servant and son and, moreover, secretly in love with the princess, who can't stand him... The HE is attached.
Drama: Miss the Dragon /遇龙 Characters: Xue Qianxun x Qingqing Screentime: Secondary A very naïve bird demon girl accidently meets a tsundere god of netherworld and turns his well ordered life into havoc. He starts liking it, though. The HE is attached. Forbidden love
Drama: A Frozen Flower /쌍화점 Characters: Hong Rim x No Guk Screentime: Main A gay king needs a heir, so he forces his lover to conceive a child with a queen. In a process, a boy, who was groomed as a king's lover from his childhood, finds out that he likes women much more than men. A traditional Korean tragedy. Very beautiful and full of feelings, though. (No GIFs because they all would be erotic ones).
Drama: 100 Days My Prince /백일의 낭군님 Characters: Moo-yeon x Kim So-hye Screentime: Secondary An assassin who is working for a wicked court official is secretly in love with a wife of a crown prince, who happens to be a daughter of the killer of his parents. Forbidden love doubles! But it's mutual, unfortunately for him. It's a very beautiful and full of desperation and feelings story. No HE, we die like Koreans. More detailed story of their relationship is available here, here and here.
Drama: The Yin-Yang Master: Dream of Eternity/晴雅集 Characters: He Shouye x Zhang Ping Screentime: Secondary A woman, who is destined to restrain the undying evil within her body for eternity in solitude, falls in love with Yin-Yang master. Her love is mutual, but her lover can't be with her forever, so he leaves with her his guardian demon to brighten her loneliness. Protecting her for ever starts being the only goal of demon's life... A tragedy, but a beautiful one.
Drama: The Legends/招摇 Characters: Gu Hanguang x Shen Qianjin Screentime: Minor "The Legends" once more! The main doctor of a demonic sect is in love with a leader of a righteous sect. A girl is not allowed to love anyone, otherwise she will suffer from the poison, so he anonymously sends her packages of medicinal herbs. She is curious about anonymous sender, too. But nothing can be kept in secret forever... Unfortunately, no HE for these two. In the novel he is safe and sound, but he has no love plotline at all. So is a price of love Т_Т.
I will talk about my other favorite characters and tropes in the next post.
