What is your actual opinion on the infamous Caucasian joke?

Understood= the outside context to the joke itself (the fandom quarrelling between whether the hs kids were white or bipoc)

Good taste= was the joke in good taste? was it poking fun at people being racist towards bipoc headcanons or was it punching down on people who just wanted to see characters that aren't white?

Funny= obviously, is the joke even funny? this can range from a mild exhale from the nose to uncontrollable laughter

Thank you! For this ask game. I'm going to throw these behind a cut because it got long. Also for spoilers.

Ariadne

12. What is their alignment, and why? How do they feel about it? Do they change alignment at one point?

To preface, I personally don't like the alignment system and don't put much stock in it. It's impossible for a realistic character to act "in alignment" 100% of the time, because real people don't fit into boxes like that. Anyways, I play with alignment indicators turned off and just go based on vibes, so my answer is probably going to be a bit stilted and wonky.

Ariadne's alignment is Chaotic Good, because they are very independent (and enjoy that freedom) and do care about other people, no matter what their fondness for pranks might suggest. As for how they feel about it...good, I guess? Ariadne doesn't think they're perfect by any stretch of the imagination but their morals aren't something they think need to change.

I have changed Ari's alignment, but that's because during the Beta run where I tried to make them Chaotic Neutral I never picked any Evil options and they ended up shifting to Chaotic Good. So, Ari went from Chaotic Good (Beta Azata run) -> Chaotic Neutral shifted to Chaotic Good (Beta Trickster run) -> Chaotic Good (full release onwards.)

15. Which companion do they hate/really don't like?

"Hate" is a strong word, but she and Camellia never connected. Camellia deliberately held herself apart from Ariadne and the rest of their companions, and Ari's not the type to force a relationship where it's clearly not wanted. And then with the reveal of what Camellia was doing to her crusaders...they were never going to be friends, but it wouldn't have mattered if they were, that crossed so many lines both personally and professionally that there was only one possible outcome to that situation.

25. How did they welcome the physical change that came with their mythic powers? Did they embrace it/reject it?

Ariadne rejected their mythic powers wholeheartedly. They hate the Trickster mask and refuse to wear it; they've actually tried to throw it away several times and it keeps winding up back on their nightstand. They firmly believed it was Socothbenoth's doing, especially when it somehow found its way to them in the Abyss, but after they transformed Vellexia into a mirror it somehow wound up on their face. It came off again, thankfully, but that was the final sign Ariadne needed to know if they embraced their powers any further they were going to lose themselves entirely.

30. Did they chose to take the crossbow or the scroll to run away form Deskari right at the beginning?

She took the crossbow. In that moment Ariadne was 100% convinced they were boned, and if they were going down, they were going down swinging (er, shooting.)

2. How do they feel about Areelu Vorlesh?

Elias has stronger feelings on Areelu when he's Knight-Commander than he does when he's a companion, but they stem from the same place. To him, Areelu is a an immensely intelligent and talented witch who, no matter how sympathetic he found her, still made the world worse through her actions. He doesn't have the visceral, petty hatred Ariadne does towards her, but in some ways, his indifferent contempt is worse. Ariadne's pettiness led to her leaving Areelu alive; Elias feels her dying to close the Worldwound is the least she can do to make up for the harm she's done to Sarkoris, Mendev, and magic users everywhere.

5. Do they have a family? If so, what kind? Do they miss them? Do they still have hope to see them again?

Elias was raised in a traveling merchant caravan in Varisia, specifically by the caravan's healer Celestina. She was a changeling like him, and despite not being perfect, tried her hardest to be as much of a mother to him as she could be. He hopes to reunite with her one day, but considering she wasn't young when he was forced to leave and over a decade has passed, that might not happen.

7. Is your KC religious? If yes, which deity do they follow? If not, what is their view on religion?

Yes, though his situation is a bit unique. Elias worship Pulura of his own free will, but his witch patron is the psychopomp usher Narakaas and Elias does find himself gravitating towards the latter's dogma more than he intends to. It ends up being a weird amalgamation of beliefs that, while not necessarily complimentary, at least don't contradict each other.

10. What would be the meal that give them a little ability bonus?

Midnight Soup, and he'd probably be more than a little rueful that he and Daeran have the same favorite meal.

I am very wary of concepts of being able to hear deities and other entities. Between how I was raised and being a system, it's just something that I struggle with the concepts of personally.

That said I have had experiences of "hearing" things from Loki and I am sort of learning to sus out his communication from things like system communication and those things.

Today I think is a fabulous example of that.

I have had two dreams in which Loki has made appearances in about as many weeks and I kind of knew there was something to these dreams because he was the only person in the dream that I could never fully see. He's been encouraging me to work on my intuition, so I just rolled on the assumption that that was him in my dreams just making himself known, just to let me know that he was there.

So these kinds of concepts have been on my mind lately and have brought up a lot of contemplation about where does caution end and fear begin. Now I am not at all afraid of Loki, I do have concerns about other things pretending to be him or just...y'know, ✨️ religious delusions✨️.

So that kind of sets the stage for what just happened today. I was piddling on tiktok and pouting about my painting that didn't go the way I wanted. When I remember I haven't eaten much today so I open the pantry and get the sense of "Hey, maybe have an apple".

Now I assumed this was Loki for a few reasons. 1) it wasn't "Let's have an apple" as it would have been in my own thoughts or system communication and 2) the video I was listening to was about him and that tends to catch his attention (2.5 I had been thinking about the aforementioned communication thing).

So I grab my apple and as I reach for the cutting board I get an image of the last time I had an apple with cinnamon and sugar, now this I did think was system communication. We have aphasia so images can be easier than words. And as I agree to cinnamon on my apple the video which is now talking about offerings to Loki mentions apples and cinnamon as some of his favorite things.

The snort and giggle I heard over my shoulder when I just came to a complete and total stop.

I also want to clarify, I like tajin or peanut butter on my apples. I never put the cinnamon sugar mix on my apples till someone (I thought in the system) asked to try it last week.

So anyway I think the reason things about clairaudience keeps coming up on my various fyps despite my scrolling is because Loki has been trying to get my attention.

⭐ : I think I have turned this spinning wheel of egos into a solar system, with myself as its sun, angel as its messenger, trickster as its gravity, and the others as planets within my orbit. angel says it feels calmer :) now that he has recovered, he can hear me, and I can hear him!!
