trial and error
I will never shut up about artificial intelligence and how much I love it. How we use it now and in the future. with the books i am reading as of late i.e. the raw shark text and xx, they both have to do with forms of life that are not the traditional term. Trial and error follows a scientist that is studying computers after they become sentient. This podcast has a lot going for it in my field. I hope it's a home run hitter in your brain field.
9/10 wish there was more

I was playing ace attorney last night and had a realization of my true power. So here's some of the dream situation in ace attorney format lmao
PLEASE DON'T LET THIS FLOP I SPENT SOOOO LONG ON IT
Note:
This isn't meant to be a proper summary, I'm just having fun sldfkj
If there's errors in the video then oopsie. I'm not gonna fix them just bc it would be too much effort. (Also, some things are worded weirdly bc I took them directly from videos. Primarily with stuff Dream's saying)
If there's errors in the transcript below, then let me know!! Though I haven't captioned everything in the video, just all the dialogue and some relevant sound effects.
In case anyone's curious, I used objection.lol
Transcription under cut, though I'd recommend watching the video for music and sound effects :]]]]] I just put it as an option for those who use screen readers, have bad connection, etc.
The second week of January 2025.
Chat, as the Gallery in Ace Attorney: GET HIS ASS. SLAY (LITERALLY) hi youtube
[Gavel slams]
Tubbo, as the Judge: Trial is now in Session for Dreamwastaken.
Tubbo: Dream, your opening statement, please.
Dream, as Cody Hackins: Tommyinnit posted a video yesterday that was titled "Dream" where he said a lot of stuff about me that isn't true.
[Hold it!]
Tommyinnit, as Phoenix Wright: Is it not true that you called my fanbase a slur?
Dream: Okay yeah, I did do that. I'm sorry. Genuinely.
Tommyinnit: Good. That was the absolute bare minimum.
Tommyinnit: But what about the misogyny? And how you and your friends treat women?
Dream: You have no examples.
[clever sound]
Dream: What if I just said you're racist and called it a day!
Tubbo: You called two different women "whores." Please amend your testimony.
Dream: Ah. Yeah, but it was to my friend. She wasn't upset at all!
[Objection!]
Ludwig, as older Phoenix Wright: Lmao
Dream: Okay but I meant it in the affectionate way!!! Like in the way I've called my cat a whore.
[Loud chatter from the Gallery]
Chat: SHANE DAWSON???? HE WHAT!!!!!!! [shuttering camera] I'm lost. Are they still fighting over discs?
Dream: Whatever, that's long enough ago. I did what I could about the situation.
Tommyinnit: My video wasn't just about that. It was also how you've been awful to me. It started with early Dream SMP when-
[Objection!]
Dream: Tommy, there's no way that you actually believe this. Saying I was terrible to you with no examples or anything- like- if you don't think that my intention was to help you, then what was my intention? Why did I do all of that?
[Loud chatter from the Gallery]
Chat: BRO THAT'S WHAT WE'RE WONDERING TEXTBOOK MANIPULATION POGCHAMP Is this new lore for c!Dream?
[Hold it!]
Tommyinnit: You thrived off of holding my success over my head! You didn't treat me like an equal!
Dream: [Desk slam] I saw potential in you!
Tommyinnit: Yet you called me a promoter for saying I was working on my podcast, book, and comedy tour?
Dream: [Critical hit sound] So why is my content worth less value?! I'm sorry that I like coding and hanging out with my friends??
[Gavel slams]
Tubbo: No one was saying that?
Tubbo: You keep taking Tommy's clips out of context. Shouldn't you be more responsible with the clips you take since you're aware of the gravity of some of these claims?
Dream: [Surprised Sound] Because-
Dream: You're saying-
Dream: Uh-
Chat: [lots of periods and question marks]
[Disappointed sound]
Dream: That's a good point, Tubbo.
Dream: That's actually a really good point.
Tubbo: Thanks. :/

@alizarinessence thank you for your patience as I took my time to respond to you! PbtA games can be pretty daunting, and I certainly didn't understand how the play flow was supposed to work at first. I personally learned through trial and error, as well as watching other GMs who had figured it out - I am blessed to have a friend who is very experienced in running PbtA games so I was able to play in some of his games and ask him questions.
That being said, there have been a few things that I've also found helpful that I can refer to you, so I'm going to put them up here.
The Flow Chart

This flow chart was originally posted in a Dungeon World reddit post, and later referred to me when I started asking for PbtA advice. You'll likely see a similar flow chart in Apocalypse Keys, where Rae Nedjadi illustrates how a typical session of play is likely to look like.
In any given PbtA game, you as a GM are going to be presenting pieces of information to the players, just as you would in any other ttrpg. PbtA codifies this information as "moves," and each game will present you with information that is considered useful for the kind of story that it is design to tell.
In Masks, the players are teenage superheroes, so the game encourages the GM to introduce facts such as "civilians are in danger" or "your dad thinks you're being irresponsible."
In The Ward, the players are medical doctors in an Emergency Ward, so the game advises the GM to introduce truths such as "a patient's condition is worsening" or "someone's dad is fighting with a nurse in another room."
This reinforces the common maxim that the game is a conversation, a cycle of presenting new information, letting players decide what they want to do with that information, and making a roll if the fiction calls for it. This is a rather simplified cycle of course - the "see what happens" sections may include moments when players may jump in with their own characters' reactions, generating more events that the GM doesn't need to add to in order to make them interesting. Many PbtA games thrive off of player conflict, which can occupy the table for a couple of hours without the GM needing to add anything (Last Fleet is a good example of this kind of play.)
Listening to Others
Listening to other people play PbtA games can give you a sense of how the game is meant to feel, especially when the GM's and players take their time to talk through their moves and how they work.
I found Monster Hour to be exceptionally helpful; they started out as a Monster of the Week podcast, and even though I've never run MotW specifically, listening to Quinn talk the players through how to ask questions or use different moves made the game very easy for me to understand.
Joining a Community
Joining a community that loves a specific PbtA game, or PbtA games in general can be very helpful when seeking out advice. The PbtA Discord channel has a number of players and designers, who have a lot of game experience and are more than happy to dish out advice.
Start With Games That Have Guide-Rails
Not all PbtA games are created equal, and while the original spirit of the game was to make sure you didn't plot out a story-line, there's still some games that have a certain amount of prep that will give you the tools you need to gain confidence as a GM. Here's some of my favourites:
Visigoths vs. Mall Goths can be played as a one-shot, and doesn't require players to make a lot of decisions when putting their characters together. It has a number of scenarios that you can throw at your players, a mapped-out mall with details on all of the NPCs (and whether or not you can flirt with them), and some pretty hard limitations on what you can and cannot do. You can't leave the mall, for example - go through an exit on one side of the mall and you'll just pop back in on the other. You can visit the stores throughout the day, but each team of players can only go to so many places before the mall is closed for the day, therefore bringing the mission to a close.
Apocalypse Keys has a game structure that looks daunting but can be broken down into steps, and also comes with pre-written scenarios as well as instructions on how to create your own. The concept is pretty straightforward - you're solving a mystery, and you need to do it before one of the Doors of the Apocalypse is opened. This puts the game on a timer, which helps GMs keep their players on task, and also provides the Game Master with a list of clues to drop into the story as the players look for them. I've heard very good things about how Brindlewood Bay, which inspired some of the mechanics in Apocalypse Keys, makes itself easy to run for new GMs, so if you can get your hands on that book, you might find it helpful!
Last Fleet is laser-focused on a very specific premise - you are humans, in space, running away from a terrible and insidious threat. What is more, this threat has the ability to infiltrate your fleet. The laser-focus brings everyone at the table to the same page pretty quickly, and the setting includes a mounting pressure track that will make sure things keep happening, so as the person running the game, you won't have to do much after you set up the initial scenario. The game also comes with some really good advice on where you want to start with your players, to make sure they're on edge, but not fully panicking yet. Then you just need to tip the scales enough to cause them to ask questions, make questionable choices, and start a series of actions that snowball into catastrophe.
Wrapping Up
This is all the advice I have for stepping into PbtA, but more than anything, I recommend just diving in and giving it a go! As with any GM-ing endeavour, you will likely walk away from your first session with a list of things that you'll want to do differently the next time around, but that's just a sign that you're learning.

So this latest adventuring party at least for now puts to rest the idea that Kristen is going to give up being a cleric, and honestly? I think thats a much better thing for her character.
Cuz I get how a lot of people would feel that was a good choice for her, but if I’m being honest, it always seemed like…kind of a cop out to me. Like, to me it would kind of symbolize her reverting back to step one of her journey. Which is fine, you know, progress isn’t linear and all, but at this point, I think Kristen has made it to the point in her journey where she starts focusing on what she DOES want, rather than on what she doesn’t.
Like, for me, and also for a lot of other people, the first step on our journey out of religion was defining ourselves by what we’re against. Which, I wanna be clear, isn’t a bad thing! It’s a necessary step for a lot of people coming out of the sorts of all-consuming religious high control groups. We all know the stereotype of the “New Atheist” who thinks being against religion is the edgiest, most radical position anyone could possible hold. They make it the center of their identity, and while it is a stereotype, it also represents a real stage that a lot of people go through on their journey. This isn’t just true of religion, it’s a stage of development we all go through. Its a great way to identify problems.
But…if that’s the only step you take…you might find it a lot less fulfilling of a journey than you anticipated, because identifying problems is not the same as solving them. Like Kristen says at the end of sophomore year, doubt is a tool, not a belief. And its an important tool, but it can’t be the ONLY tool, cuz once you find something you actually want to pursue and commit to, whether that be a relationship or a community or a project, you may find that you don’t actually know how to do that in a healthy way. You’ve identified that what you learned from the group is unhealthy, but learning how to leave doesn’t teach you how to build something new.
For a lot of people the journey they take in leaving a religious group involves a lot of exploring other belief systems of various kinds, and most people eventually find something else that speaks to them. Whether that be another religion, or a spiritual practice, or a philosophical framework, or magic, or the power of friendship, or communism, or self-help podcasts, or a combination of the above. Very few people stay in that place of skeptical detachment forever. But even once you find something that you do want to pursue, learning how to invest in that takes a lot of work, a lot of trial and error, and at some point its gonna require you to decide you want to stay and do the work rather than running away.
It seems like Kristen is in that stage, where she has found something she wants, something she really does care about and believe in, and for the first time since leaving the church, she is having to make the choice to double down; to invest in what she believes in and work through the problems, rather than detaching herself at the first sign of discomfort.

Fluffurary Attempt 1- Settling in
Instead of doing something useful today I wrote this, I think I'm going to try for one a week for February.
Let me know what you think! If you have any prompts for Fulffurary let me know. Its a longer one.
Clingy Marine Update: Settling in
Hey! It's been a bit, and I figured you all would appreciate an update. I also have a weird question for people who have had marines.
Update
I think that Domtrect has stolen one of my cats. It's just as adorable as it is vexing. Pierogi is an orange cat with rocks for brains, but he makes up for it in love. He loves to be held, picked up, and snuggled. Domtrect likes to pick things up and snuggle them, so it's a perfect relationship. It also keeps Domtrect from picking me up when he's anxious, so I don't mind it, but I'm slightly jealous that Pierogi adores him so much after three weeks. Domtrect is delighted, I think. He's a very stoic person and hard to read, but he carries Pierogi with him everywhere he can.
My other cat, Nugget, remains solidly by my side. She doesn't like people very much and takes a while to warm up to them. Domtrect is on a campaign of catnip, treats, toys, and physically moving me to his nest so Nugget will come into the nest after me. This has been fairly successful; Domtrect has gotten to touch her once. He almost smiled when Nugget let him give her a head pat. His campaign has resulted in my cats gaining about ⅓ of a pound each, which for Nugget at least, is a lot.
I should probably update you all on the nest: it's expansive, beautifully constructed, and has given me no end of frustration recently. It takes up my entire living room. On @yurihasurunbara's suggestion and a membership to HomePro, he has decided to use it to his advantage completely. The whole thing is covered in soft pillows and rugs. He has built up a multi-tiered setup with ceiling hangings and soft yellow light. He somehow found enough fabric to make it almost a uniform grey, with blue and red highlights.
Domtrect has settled in enough that he has stopped wearing armour around the house. Instead, he puts it all on a rack that the base sent up. Now that he is not always in armour I can report that Domtrect has light blonde hair and blue eyes, he has a scar that runs over his brow, down his nose, and onto his cheek and lips, causing him to look like he's constantly smirking. He also has three silver studs in his forehead that he's quite proud of. He mainly lounges around the house in a tight body glove now; it has strange little ports all over it. When he's not following me around, checking my windows or doors, and playing with Pierogi, he has taken to lounging in his nest, carving soapstone, listening to history podcasts, and creating an insane amount of origami swans.
We've also found a job for him to do at the school, so he's not just lurking at the back of the shop class. He works as our outdoor hall monitor, which has significantly cut the number of students trying to smoke weed behind the school. Domtrect seems to enjoy it, though he's genuinely befuddled that the students need encouragement to go to class. This job also lets him circle the school like a shark and grumble about bad construction, which he was doing anyway. The students seem to have gotten used to him remarkably quickly; they're trying to make him into a TikTok sensation, but it's not going well. He's planning to spend all of his first paycheck on blankets and tapestries; apparently, he found a Blood Angel online that he gave a commission to.
Domtrect generally spends half his day in the house, and then half of it at work, looking for stragglers outside, glaring at dogs, or staring creepily through my classroom window. After the buses leave, he hangs around the shop until it's time to walk home. There, he seems content pottering away on small projects and learning, through much trial and error, how to make bread.
Issues
Now, on to the issues. I want to stress that I'm enjoying having Domtrect around, but I was wondering if anyone had any insights into these problems. I want to know if this is a Domtrect problem or just a regular marine problem.
The Funk: For people who know, or live with Astartes: do they have a funk? Because Domtrect does; it's a hellish combo of old unaired hockey pads and chemicals, and it clings to him all the time. I think it's the body glove that he basically lives in, but I'm not quite sure. I know he knows how to do laundry; he's very dedicated to doing mine, so I assume he would wash it if it were the source of the stink. Does anyone have any advice for this? I work with mainly 12-17 year olds, so my stink threshold is pretty high, but Domtrects is particularly pungent. I think I'm slowly growing nose-blind to it as well, and I don't feel like I can just ask him to bathe more. My shower and most of my house are not quite up to Imperial Fist standard, though Domtrect is slowly bringing it up to snuff, but I don't think he can currently squeeze himself into my shower or the guest shower. I'm kinda at a loss; he's a very neat person and seems to enjoy being super clean, so the stink kinda throws me for a loop. I tried to bring it up once, and he looked hurt that I didn't like the way he smelled. I changed the conversation topic pretty quick.
The Nest: The second issue is The Nest. It's honestly quite nice looking and incredibly comfortable. I've even made my peace with the fact that he's taken over most of my living room for it. I kinda think of the living room as essentially his bedroom and treat it like that, except he very clearly wants me in the nest. I don't mind hanging out in it; it's a nice space, and I enjoy hanging out with him. The issue here is that he wants me to sleep in it. Secondary to this is that most of my blankets, pillows, and once before I put my foot down, my mattress, ended up in the nest. I've set some boundaries and am no longer in danger of having my mattress moved while I'm at work, but that's honestly secondary now. The main issue is that he's taken to moving me into the nest while I'm sleeping, which is strange by itself. I'm not a heavy sleeper; I normally wake up to my cats pushing the door open, let alone being picked up and moved to a different part of the house. Yet, somehow after going to bed in my own bed upstairs, I always wake up after a deep and dreamless sleep in the nest. It started around the same time that Domtrect started hanging out without his armour on, so I think I'm only seeing this now because he's getting more comfortable.
Our bedtime routine looks like this: when I head to bed, I have perhaps 15-20 minutes to myself, and then inevitably Domtrect, Pierogi in hand, will appear in my doorway. He'll loom in the doorway until he's invited in. If I don't invite him in, he just lingers by the door and whines faintly. I don't think he knows he does it; he'll stay there until I go to sleep if I don't let him in.
If I invite him in, he'll carry Pierogi inside and settle in my room. He likes to sit by my dresser or sit cross-legged on the floor beside my bed. I'll read aloud for a bit. He seems to enjoy history the most, and we'll sometimes chat if he has questions about what we're reading. Then it lights out, and I go to sleep.
In both cases, I wake up in the nest, which is creepy to the extreme. I've confronted Domtrect on this, and he's stubbornly insistent, that He moves me because I should just sleep in the nest. His arguments are as follows:
Pierogi likes it better when we're all together. (Which, yeah he does, but I don't find this particularly persuasive; Pierogi also likes to eat garbage.)
It's safer. (I'm not exactly sure what he could be protecting me from, and Domtrect won't say.)
It's warmer. (It is, but I always end up throwing off half of the blankets he piles on me anyway.)
He doesn't need to sleep, and I keep him company. (I told him maybe he should reach out to the base if he's that lonely.)
He likes it better if he knows where I am. (He knows I sleep in my bedroom, it’s not like I’d climb out the window.)
If I'm sleeping in the nest, Nugget lets him get close to her. (Which is true)
Obviously, some arguments are better than others, but Domtrect won't budge on this. Do any other Astartes do this? I've heard that Salamanders sometimes hoard people like this, and Imperial Fists are known to fortify people into their houses and refuse to let them leave, but this doesn't quite fit either of those behaviours.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?

One thing I love about the Mistholme Museum podcast (outside of the obvious part where it's amazingly written and has me in a death grip) is that when we're first taken on a tour the museum itself feels like a mystery, austere and magical. The exhibits are all neat and researched as much as possible and contained with the necessary precautions and the guide is ready to tell you every story there is to tell about it. Now I'm reaching the middle of season 6 and I know the staff, I know how the place is held together with glue and a timetravel loop, I know how the research department is powered by one lady's intense desire to Know Things no matter what and the museum's heart (non physical), soul (although that's an entire can of worms of its own), and reason for still being around is a non-gendered little fellow with self-worth issues and anxiety. And the museum is still just as magical and amazing, actually it's impossible not to fall even more in love with it when learning how much care and work and trial and error and pure passion is put into every aspect of it. We the listener just aren't a visitor anymore. We, too, are part of the museum.

You're analysis are always very insightful! Your considerations about Malleus' restricted options in terms of partners made me wonder if Kalim would end up in a similar situation as him. This is of course entirely speculation, since we don't know much about how his parents got together, but to me it makes sense that in the future he might have to deal with something like an arranged marriage. He isn't royalty, but the Asim family still has a great deal of commercial and political sway in the Scalding Sands, so it's difficult for me to believe that they would just let the heir marry whoever he chooses. And despite how carefree he may act, I don't think he would reject an arrangement made by his family. He seems pretty aware of all the obligations that come with being an heir to the Asim. Besides, rejecting a spouse that was chosen for him might put said person under a lot of public scrutiny, and I don't think he would want anyone to go through that
[Referencing this post!]
Oh, hmmm 🤔 I actually never really thought about this kind of thing for Kalim so I guess now is as good of a time as any www.
I do think like there would be some selectiveness involved for Kalim too, given the financial power and political influence that the Asims hold (and that's not even mentioning their connections via family, some of which are royalty, and business partners). There's also been several attempts on Kalim's life, so there would probably be an intense screening and background check process for anyone courting Kalim. Who knows if they're actually there to kidnap him or to take his life??? The Asims would have very legitimate concerns, so they have every right to be vigilant and suspicious of those who may try to take advantage of Kalim's kind-heartedness and gullibility.
Mm, I do feel like (overall) Kalim wouldn't be in as much of a tight spot as Malleus?? I get the sense that his parents are way more open-minded and truly care about his happiness (unlike the Briar Valley senators) so they wouldn't exactly force him to marry someone he doesn't actually love. Rather than a "you have no say in this matter" arranged marriage, they might instead present Kalim with a pool of potential candidates (with large percentage being the children of business partners) that have already been vetted and encourage him to try them out? Like, go on various blind dates and see if he "clicks" with any of them. There would be more trial and error, more exploration allowed (since there isn't as much of a demand for Kalim to have an heir, especially not right away; he has so many other siblings and family members who could help or assume roles in the business). I believe this is similar to how matchmaking is done in some Asian countries (although I'm not too familiar with the concept, I've only learned a little about it through some podcasts). From my understanding, they try to "match" applicants with someone of a similar social ranking as you (so in Kalim's case, he would probably be meeting people who are also mega wealthy) and based on what you (and oftentimes your family) are looking for. If it doesn't work out, then there's less of a chance for backlash since pretty much anyone can use these services and a perfect match isn't a guarantee, especially on the first attempt. Please feel free to correct me if I got any information here wrong!! ^^

"The writers never intended that. They meant for it to be two vampires fighting and a “cool and shocking way” to display a vampiric power."
Huh? I never got the impression they intended that -- the writers, plus Sam himself, made it clear last season that Lestat was way more powerful than Louis and that that was a significant act of abuse and was a big part of what justified Louis killing him (which, had they stuck to the book, wouldn't have felt justified with what their relationship was in the series).
And in the trial, Lestat's whole apology monologue is a MAJOR point of development for his character -- it shows how much he's changed, and sets up Louis realizing that Daniel is right about who saved him and him being ready to forgive Lestat in some way.
I think you can dislike the choice, for sure, but I think the writers absolutely intended it to be what it was -- a horrifying act of violence that becomes part of the arc of Louis and Lestat's relationship.
For what it's worth, I haven't read the books and I didn't understand the book fans' reaction. I was like, yes that was horrible, and I can see how these characters got to that point within this world, and since they're immortal beings and this isn't human domestic violence, there's room for Lestat to grow and change in the ensuing decades -- so I think a lot of non-book fans were more willing to just go with the story. Which I get, it's harder when you love a book and big things change.
It’s not really an impression. It’s because Hannah Moscovitch, the writer of 1x05, laughed about the DV during the AMC podcast and literally said it was just a cool and shocking way to display the cloud gift. It’s also because they never made a big deal about 1x05 or acted like it was this awful, irredeemable event like the fandom did. It was treated very flippantly, and I explained all of that in this post.
The reason book fans were irate is because for one, Lestat never did anything even remotely comparable like that in any of the books and especially not to Louis. For another, Lestat never needed to grow or change in that respect. The entire point was that Louis and Claudia were the ones who wronged him when they killed him. Turning Lestat into a domestic abuser not only corrupted the core of his character but also the core of his entire arc. It was never about him needing to atone for anything. It was always about him being the victim of a series of unmitigated disasters and trying to come to terms with the fact he’s actually NOT a cruel and vicious monster and actually does NOT deserve all the horrible things that happen to him. 1x05 completely flipped that on its’ head and now suddenly Lestat needs to make it up to Louis and earn Louis’ forgiveness, and that was never what their story was meant to be either, which I explained in this post.
So now, because of 1x05, Lestat’s arc is suddenly about him needing to grow and change and earn redemption and forgiveness, and that’s the total opposite of his actual book arc. His book arc is the fact he was the one who was wronged and failed by so many people in his life, and the only thing he ever needed to realize about himself is the fact that yes, he’s a vampire and enjoys being a vampire, but he’s also not an evil monster, and he does deserve love and goodness instead of constantly being punished for his existence. In the books, he believed his existence was a cosmic error. The entire point to that was the fact he was wrong. In the show? Since he’s now a domestic abuser, he’s no longer wrong in hating himself. Does that make sense? The DV corrupted his entire arc….the entire meaning of his character is tainted, and it never should’ve been that way, because it shows they didn’t properly think it through or understand how it warps both the entire tragedy of Lestat’s character and the heart of Loustat.

Malevolent_FanArt_HumanWraith_animated

Continuing the fanart of (podcast) Malevolent's Wraith. Human Wraith without the eye scribbles. I also took this piece and put in some subtle anim. Because of file size limit, the gif (even the low resolution ones) couldn't be uploaded. So with trial and error, I did the next best thing I could think of. Uploading a higher quality video on youtube and posting a link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ESDc7XIZlwo&ab_channel=teatimetravels Spent way more time than intended, but satisfied with how it turned out.

Some resources/media I found helpful in learning and accepting my own sexuality (bi-romantic asexual is the closest I can get for now, maybe it'll be different in the future?)
✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨
How Bestselling Author V.E. Schwab Finally Found the Words to Come Out of the Closet (An coming out essay written by my favorite author VE Schwab, sharing her own experience of understanding her own sexuality. Very well written and encouraging to read)
Loveless by Alice Oseman (a novel about a girl coming to terms with her asexuality through trials and errors, it was messy but fruitful. The book that made me feel seen and I relate to the character's experience a lot)
Dating and Asexuality with Angela Chen | Sleeping Around (link to a YouTube video, an episode of a new podcast I'm starting to listen to where the host Alayna Joy talks about asexuality with Angela Chen, the author of Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex. This episode broke the thin line in my head and made me realize I am indeed ace, after years of questioning)
Ace: What Asexuality Reveals About Desire, Society, and the Meaning of Sex by Angela Chen (I'm just starting to read the book, but I've heard great things about it. I'll come back to update after reading it)
Heartstopper (2022 tv show) & Heartstopper (graphic novel) by Alice Oseman (If you need relatable characters and wholesome loving embraces, you NEED to watch this show and read this book. The show and graphic novels have all kinds of POSITIVE representations. The original graphic novel is free on webtoon and tumblr. In the newest season there is a great conversation about asexuality from the character Issac, who is not in the original graphic novel. Instead, in the graphic novels, there is another great conversation about asexuality from the character Tori, which is not in the show)
✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨ - ✨
I know this isn't much and most of it is well-known, but I think they really helped a lot so I want to share! Feel free to reblog with any other resources you want to add, I'd love to learn more as well.

HEY!
Do you wanna join a DnD campaign, but don't have any friends? Or maybe do you want to meet and maybe make some by joining one? Want to feel the thrill of death being close at hand? Well, I've got a proposition then! I'm starting a new series, podcast, whatever you want to call it, known as DEATH SAVE, and I want YOU to join it!
Death Save is all about flipping expectations, whether it be the theme of a campaign using a certain system, the system itself, the parties expectations, or the viewers! The best part? ANYONE can apply and join the campaigns on the show, which will be streamed, and subsequently uploaded for all to see!
The main twist of the whole show being that death is PERMANENT! Mechanics to revive characters will be limited or even outright REMOVED from any system we use! Meaning you'll have to hinge on every Death Save if you want to make it out alive. For our first season, we'll be playing a campaign I've dubbed The Realm of Tertia, a Steampunk, treasuring hunting campaign where your group of adventurers is looking for something known as The Last Spark, the last known piece of tamed electricity in all of the realm, in hopes of finding it to be rewarded, and to progress technology further. Or not. Who knows! (Guns will be a thing in this campaign) If this sounds up your alley and you want to meet new people, then you can apply for Season 1's campaign NOW!!! Apply in the form below! (Be warned its kinda long, as I'd like motivated players!) Applications will stay open until a couple of promising candidates for parties have been found.
(Please also join the Discord linked at the end of the application, as that's where I'll be conducting party interviews. You'll be interviewed with 3-4 other applications to determine whether you work well together or not. I may grab you for multiple interviews if I think you might work better with another party. Its all trial and error from here baby lol.)

Talk Garden Vol.#12‼️~In Search of the Best Pillow of My Life~
Vol. 12 of "Wakana's Talk Garden" has just been uploaded! \\\٩( 'ω' )و ////
This time, I was able to hear a lot of very interesting stories about everyone's pillow situation at home 😍 Seems like quite a lot of people have tried using a so-called "custom-made pillow" 😳 But many of you are also overwhelmed by the sheer endless choice of pillows so you just end up using a traditional Japanese pillow or even just a bath-towel. The most common choice was definitely a "buckwheat pillow" 😳 I was surprised! I didn't really know much about them 😂 I had the impression that buckwheat pillows were packed full and even if you reduced the contents, they would be kind of lumpy and difficult to sleep on… I'm sorry 🤣 I looked into it and it wasn't what I thought it would be! 😳 It wasn't at all the super high shogun pillow I had imagined😂 Apparently, it doesn't lose its shape even when you turn over in your sleep, and the buckwheat helps to absorb moisture and release heat, so it doesn't get hot even in the summer. It seems that buckwheat pillows are still popular to this day😃
I'm kind of… intrigued!! 😳💓But…I already have so many old and current pillows …(Look at this tower of tears made up of pillows I tried out through trial and error, unwilling to give up on them) There's no way I can make this tower any taller… for the time being🥺
By the way, the new pillow I bought last month has now made it into main line-up but I still feel like I need to improve my sleeping style. It's a medical pillow for children. It's really small. The other pillow in my main line-up is this one here. The "Dr.Recommended Pillow for Shoulder and Neck Support". ↑ You can adjust the height by adding or removing stuffing, just like with buckwheat pillows! (It comes with a lot of extra pipes like these.) I've reduced the stuffing quite a bit so the pillow is rather flat but it still doesn't feel right so I'm considering adding more pipes.
What I learned from everyone's messages this time is that it's really important to find a good match for your mattress/futon… I realised it's hard to judge a pillow just by its appearance 🤔 Even if it's custom-made, you might not know unless you try it out in an environment similar to the one you usually sleep in 😞 The other thing is the position of the pillow! Personally, I put my pillow rather high up so my head is barely on the pillow 🤔But the troth is, your entire head and even your shoulders should rest on the pillow🤔I tried it last night and my neck was fine but the area around my shoulder blades was really stiff 😂 It's difficult… 😭My pillow journey continues!! I hope we can all find the "best pillow of our life!!"・:*+.(( °ω° ))/.:+
Thank you so much to everyone who submitted messages!!
The theme for the next podcast on September 10th is "Everyone's Strange Experiences"!! Please share stories that can't be explained by science or something that's mysterious which made you question everything you just experienced. Maybe a story you heard from someone else? Anything is OK!! However, please only share stories that aren't too scary😂 I'm easily scared *laughs*. Please don't tell me anything that will make me too scared to even wash my hair in the bathroom at night😂←I know it's tough, I'm sorry about that *laughs* Of course, you can also share "stories of miraculous experiences"!! 😊 I'm looking forward to hearing your stories of strange experiences that will hopefully cheer us up and keep us cool at the end of summer!! \(^o^)/
Well, for the time-being, it's still hot so please continue to take care of your health!
Until next time~☆( '▽')/
