peak post-s7 dynamic to me is Terry getting more acclimated to the people he hasn't really met yet (Rayla, Callum) and Callum's a bit more uncertain/wary around him at first because of Claudia (but Terry assumes it's because of the Ibis / the staff) until things even out, because Terry and Ezran get along so well and he even makes Rayla laugh, so Terry gets to know Callum better. And it's nice to know another human mage who isn't like Claudia, who seems more at actually at peace and softer than Viren was, because those are the two people Terry knew best... until all at once, or even piece by piece, Callum says and does things (his temper, his white streak, his books about dark magic, his occasional smug streak at the power he holds, an "I would do anything for you") and Terry realizes with a soft pang of horror that Callum is far more like them than Terry would ever want anyone to be.

So, in the Happy Hour Au, three days are looping, and they have jobs?

Do they have to keep reapplying for their jobs or did the loop somehow magically adjust so that they’ve always worked there??

I’m loving this au it’s so much fun!!

the time loop didn't start right away! they were able to move into the town and establish themselves a little before it began. and it chose a very inconvenient day to start, too, since they'd been putting off getting groceries and cleaning and such...

so, during the loop, they have their apartment, transportation (read: shadow's motorcycle), and jobs. their coworkers kind-of-sort-of know them already. (they're not, like, good friends or anything, but they're not strangers either.) they're still New(TM), but not new enough to have to keep reintroducing themselves to everyone every single Monday.

the thing is, neither of them knew that the time loops would be a thing when they first arrived. sonic and shadow were just sent there to investigate a "strange energy anomaly"--which could've led to anything. it was only when the two of them started getting deja vu that they realized that pesky little energy anomaly had turned into something bigger than just a blip on GUN's radar.

Late night wishful thinking but like

I think planting funky things around retention ponds should be more normalized!!

Like okay I get it retention ponds are meant to hold the runoff water from parking lots and drive throughs and the like so they aren’t exactly the cleanest water around. But like!!! Maybe this is different in other areas, but the only plants I ever see grow around retention ponds are cattails!! Which, like, are fine and great and dandy lets go cattails, but like

Where’s the whimsy?? Where are the flowers?? If I’ve got to see retention ponds whenever I go to a store or drive down the highway or pick up food for my mom, at least bring in some flowers!!

And it’ll benefit so much! A wider variety of plants can make it a more welcoming home to wildlife! Maybe the plants will filter some of the runoff stuff and the water can then be nicer for even more wildlife! Maybe the flowers can be a nice food source for butterflies and bees on their journeys and day trips!! And humans like seeing things be pretty!

Maybe its easier said than done! Maybe most places already do this and its just my city or state that doesn’t really I’d be willing to believe that! But lets get some color in these goddamn retention ponds!!

Swamp milkweed! Aquatic milkweed! Pickerelweed! Water lilies! Irises! Cardinalflower! Fuck it, put some goddamn duckweed in there!! Get some color in those things or so help me!!

depending on the circumstances (and mostly because i am currently writing like 3k of terry and callum having to work together), I don't actually know how much they'd get along. Terry will be associated with Claudia in Callum's mind (and he probably assumes Claudia is the one who killed Ibis at first as well), so he'd have a lot of walls up. And while Callum is saddened by Ibis' death, canon doesn't give us a lot of indication that the two were particularly close, not anymore so than say Callum is also mentored by Lujanne and Villads in S2 - I also think, if Callum had the context of how it happened, post-s4 he'd be harsher... post-s5, well, he just got handed a very big reminder of how he's also willing to do something horrible to save the person he loves. Nor is Terry gonna be unaware that Callum and Ibis are connected somehow - opposite sides, Callum has the staff - if anything he might assume they were closer than they actually were, and be more nervous than just outgoing and goofy

They're nice friendly guys at their best, yes, but Callum can be cold (S4) and mistrustful (S1) AND Terry already overthinks things, and this is one of those big things; I think when a lot is said and done and worked through they'd get along pretty well, but I think it's a far bumpier road to get there

i saw some posts that were saying about how great callum and terry's friendship can be. and i agree. like yes, both of them have a friendly, a bit dork nature, they are madly in love with their girlfriends, of course, callum will be super excited about earth magic. but everything changes at the moment when callum learns who killed Ibis, his first mentor. then the universe explodes.
