k i wanna read a fic where bronan are roommates and adansey are roommates. then bluesey and pynch both get into a fwb/casual dating situation. blue and adam are anti commitment, ronan and gansey are desperate for commitment/they know theyve found the one. roommates confide in roommates, blue tells ronan to tell adam how he feels, adam tells gansey the same advice, but neither are happy when their advice bites them in the ass and they get broken up with. blahblah they realize they made a mistake and happily ever after for them all the end

in dream thieves, adam's mattress is specifically described as an ikea mattress, so now i need a fic where ronan and gansey take him to ikea (noah's probably there as well). it's right after trb, so adam is being all creepy and haunted by the magical forest he just sold his soul to, gansey is feeling all heartbroken and betrayed, ronan has just revealed he can take things out of his dreams and they're all freshly traumatised by seeing their latin teacher be trampled to death. they all have probably never been to ikea so they have that whole experience to take in. they eat shitty hotdogs and mispronounce swedish names and buy too many scented candles

Okay, hear me out! Pynch Bodygruad AU but with a twist!!

Ronan is a bodyguard to Gansey, who just fresh out of college stepped into the political world to train on the business of his father. He is on a full-time job to protect Gansey. So wherever Gansey goes, Ronan is tagging along (hint: the tdt lore of master/guard-dog will have chance to flesh out here).

So one day, when Gansey brings his very good friend from college to tag along with him in an upcoming campaign, Ronan is not comfortable with this new person seem to suddenly make a place for himself in his boss's close vicinity.

Ronan is highly skeptical of Gansey's new friend, namely Adam Parrish, because at first glance he seemed as innocent as they come, but upon further observation Ronan came to the conclusion there is more to Adam than just his gentleman politeness and alluring accent. He is strange in a way he has never encountered a person like him in his entire career. So of course Ronan has to keep a close eye on him at any given chance.

Adam is not very thrilled about Ronan either. He doesn't like that someone is always following him and Gansey closely all the time, giving them no time for privacy. And even in general he doesn't seem to have a good opinion of Ronan, with his intense suspicious stare and dislike directed at him and the general asshole personification.

Either way they have to tolerate each other because they cannot afford to leave Gansey's side at any cost. *Cue the royalty free suspense music*

Now, this could go in either direction.

1. Ronan is just paranoid and there is nothing wrong with Adam (besides him being his usual uncanny self™️) who just wants to befriend Gansey and earn a place in his inner circle. And so, as they get to know each other more, they realise it's just prejudice blinding their judgement towards each other and yada yada yada... the usual romcom typebeat plot ensues.

OR.....

2. Ronan's suspicion is in fact correct and Adam does have an ulterior motive on befriending Gansey. And Ronan goes on a secondary mission to find out what it is. And as he does this, he learns so much about Adam, he couldn't help but catch some unwanted feelings for him. And now he is battling an entire different battle between his heart and his job.

OR! OR! OR!!!!!!

3. We could say fuck it, and unleash the villain-adam that was bubbling under him before Maggie decided to change the direction of his arc. Yk the drift, lots of betrayal, heartbreak, anger, grief, trauma and all the juiciness that makes a tortured character gain his iconic reputation. Say what?

i miss stief's reread threads of the raven cycle, it was so so so fucking funny and relatable every time she was like "i have literally no idea why the fuck i wrote this or what i meant by it." eternally thinking about her confusedly being like "i don't remember gansey showing interest in blue this early" when gansey is having Complicated Feelings about blue and adam holding hands in the helicopter in trb or whatever. death of the author 2: the author can't remember their intentions so everything is fair game. gansey was 100% jealous over adam and wanting adam's attention and also being sad about not being a girl.

Here the tower is Cabeswater, and Ronan lives there.

Kavinsky steals from Cabeswater still and somehow in one of his jaunts, he gets a glimpse of Ronan. At first, Kavinsky thought he imagined it, coz mindfuckery and not wanting to get caught by the trees.

The next time, he finds the other person, boy whatever, looking at him. It keeps happening, until Kavinsky on one of his dreams, actually tries looking for him. He thinks Ronan is one of his dreams, something like this place creating a guilt switch in him by way of this boy with the bluest eyes and a sharpness to his handsome face that Kavinksy can feel the sting of a cut just imagining himself touching him.

And somehow, the stealing still happens, but Kavinsky comes to dream for Ronan more than anything.

They race. They fight. And Kavinsky burns and burns for this dream's company.

And he tries to take him out of Cabeswater, but Ronan refuses, runs away. And it frustrates Kavinsky, that this dream of his is so elusive. That he can't hold onto it long enough to bring him to the waking.

Then, somehow, it all stops. Ronan the dream is gone from the place.

He thought this place had enough of him, that mercy was done and took this one nice thing. Nothing new in the life of Joseph Kavinsky.

And one day, he sees him at Nino's. He's not alone.

He sees him with the King.

to clarify the first option isn’t exactly an au it’s more like the Gangsey, we’ll say timeline wise this is post BLLB and spins off a bit, go to Cabeswater one day and it disappears while they’re there and they end up in a Wonderland like place. It is modeled on the book but not every char is assigned a role from it, although some might be..

Ronan was a successful amateur boxer with his eyes on the Olympics

Declan is his trainer

They have a falling out when their father dies of a drug overdose. Declan grew up seeing his father's substance use where Ronan and Matthew only really knew a sober Niall. Everyone has a lot of big feelings.

Ronan fires Declan and Declan lets him.

Ronan ends up getting injured, which is just fuel on the fire. His dad is gone (so is his mom, several years earlier), he is no longer speaking to his brother, and his hopes and dreams of an Olympic medal are gone

Ronan spirals but with the help of his friends and manager, he's able to right his ship. He's sober, working as an instructor at the woodshop at the local college in their art program and does boxing lessons on the side at Calla's gym. He works with other amateur boxers and does free classes with troubled teens

Ronan meets Adam while in the ER after getting clocked in the face by one of his students who moved too soon. He needs stitches. Adam is the doctor on call. He stitches Ronan up and Ronan fell in love with him the moment he walked into the exam room. Ronan keeps showing up to the ER after his stitches are removed because he wants to see Adam and Adam eventually confronts him. Ronan says he'll leave Adam alone if he goes out with him on one date. Adam says yes (because Ronan IS hot and works with troubled teens so he must have SOME redeemable qualities and isn't always insufferable) They go on a date and hit it off and are engaged in "present day"

Meanwhile, Declan married Jordan and they have two kids. He works as an art dealer. Matthew is the bridge between his brothers and has been trying to get them to reconcile for years. All of the Lynches have been in therapy (because this is fanfic and because I say so)

Adam has noticed how much Ronan seems to miss boxing. During Adam's night shifts he comes home to an empty house on several occasions and finds Ronan at the gym, boxing. They talk about Ronan trying to get back into the amateur circuit and making another go at the Olympics.

Ronan mulls this over. Talks to Calla and his old manager. They think he could pull it off. If not a medal, at least qualifying. Ronan calls Declan. They have an awkward conversation but agree to meet up. They get lunch, catch up, and Declan says he'll think about it.

Declan thinks about it. Jordan encourages him. She knows how much he enjoyed coaching Ronan, how much it meant for both brothers to be that close. Declan agrees to coach Ronan.

Ronan qualifies for the Elite team and goes to the Pan Am Games. He wins silver in his weight class, which means he has a ticket to the Olympics. Cue lots of crying and hugging and celebrating. His comeback story is picked up and followed. He does some interviews. This was obviously more than just boxing. This was Ronan and Declan making amends.

Ronan works his way through the prelims to the semifinals, to the quarterfinals, he's in the last bracket for a podium spot. Does he medal...? He'll get at LEAST bronze...

Anyway, as much as I love writing Pynch, I do love a good reconciliation story between the Lynch brothers.
