Are you worried about your children or teenager?
Tumblr media
If you feel something’s wrong, then it’s time to seek help. The teenage years can leave parents feeling shut-out and lost, not knowing if it’s ‘just a phase’ or if there’s something deeper going on.
When you look back on your own teens it’s easy to think you’re over reacting, but today’s teenagers face a completely different set of challenges. Which is why you need a different set of tools to reach them.

Hypnotic Visuals #1: Ocean Waves
If you'd like, this post is accompanied with a backing track of waves to help better understand and feel the points being made. It is not necessary, though.
...
When it comes to the choice of hypnotic visuals, some consideration should be made towards each one's specifics.
Hypnosis can be a tricky thing in many aspects, but one large reason is just how context-dependent it is. Each person's mind is its own individual landscape of biases and perceptions and strengths and weaknesses, and each one might have a different effect on how one receives trance. However, this variation is also extended outwards, towards the choice of visuals themselves.
Each visual, of which there are essentially infinite, comes with their own common aesthetic associations, so I'd like to make a series talking about various hypnotic visuals and how you can tailor your sessions around them most effectively. Let's start with one of the simplest, and a classic: the ocean and its waves.
The first thing about the ocean is a very important lesson about pre-talk. If you do not get to know your subject and use this visual, there is a chance they have thalassaphobia or some trauma regarding the sea, and have a violent abreaction. Talking with your subject is important for hundreds of reasons, but one is avoiding exactly this. Even a mention of the word "ocean" in an extra vulnerable state like trance could be a complete shock to the system that disrupts trances with you and your subject in the future. Even if unintentional, it's a betrayal of trust and the mind can be slow to mend that.
As for those who do not fear the ocean, they likely find it the opposite, quite relaxing. Relaxation, while not strictly necessary for trance, is almost always a part of it because relaxation frees up perceptive "room", so to speak. You only have so much focus and the mind normally spreads it out to everything around you. Relaxation takes the focus away from everything else, and allows that focus to be pinpointed on me and my words. Some visuals deal with a more active focus, this takes the opposite path.
As such, you want to also pepper in suggestions to focus in on your voice, either through another visual, or just direct "Focus" commands or suggestions.
If you don't take advantage of the relaxation, there's wasted potency just washing away in the waves.
The ocean is something interlinked with the most steady functions of our entire planet. As steadily as the sun rising in the sky, so too does the moon, and with every moment it exists, our tides continue in a steady motion.
Rhythm is very natural to both us and the tides. If one spends long enough near the ocean, they might find their mind get accustomed to that steady rhythm.
The tides going,
Back, and Forth,
Back, and Forth,
This rhythm is useful for trance. When you define one quality of the visual you're using, something natural to that visual, you've essentially defined a plot device. This is the thing you attach suggestions to.
Going back, and forth,
and back, and forth,
This rhythm of the tides has multiple routes one could take. My personal favorite is the kinetic angle. That's to say, the motion of it.
Rocking back,
and forth,
and back,
and forth,
We have a tendency to make unconscious movements when thinking about things. It's so natural to us that it's one of the easiest things to be suggested to someone. It's a way to assert some subtle control immediately. Rocking is also an especially calming motion, in combination with the ocean visual itself.
Back,
and forth,
and back,
and forth,
can even start to serve the form of a mantra.
Mantras serve multiple purposes, but the most useful practically is to fill up the empty space in the subject's mind when you're not actively suggesting them. Relaxation can easily be paired with suggestions of dulling thoughts, and this is a way to start heading in that direction.
Water in itself is a visual, and can also be applied here. Whether it's the water consuming you, submerging you, or filling you, that unmistakable sound of being submerged in water has a very visceral sensory effect on people. You can point out the specifics, of that slight pressure on the skin, of requiring so much more effort to move, of everything being duller and even needing to close your eyes.
When combining dulling visuals with suggestions of your voice being the only thing perfectly clear, you can amplify the strength of your words on both ends.
When you have multiple plot devices, say, the swaying of the tides and being submerged in water, you can intertwine the two and amplify both, as well. When you're submerged in water, you're at the mercy of the tides, being pulled in looong, drawn out motions, tapping into a lack of control. I can tell you that my voice is an anchor, the only thing keeping you steady, that you need to hold on.
Every little detail is another plot point in the narrative, and each one is much more effective than plainly stating what thing you want the person to feel. Stories draw us in, immerse us, and this is not something that should be ignored. These were only a few examples of what you can do, as with the amount of visuals, the amount of qualities and routes to take with each are also wide and varied.
If you want to really give your subjects an unforgettable experience, you need to learn how to weave a story. Visuals are the key.
If anyone has any specific visual they want given extra detail and options for, feel free to ask.
That all being said, I hope you enjoyed reading, and happy hypnotizing.

This could end as a story.
Feat - Tyler Galpin x local witch!Reader
Contains - Very slow burn
  Wednesday Spoilers!!
Part 1
“Always wonder why is it so dark in here.”
“ha ha. Very funny, Galpin. Now why are you here?”
I said as soon as I exited through the curtain window to see Tyler with an unfamiliar face next to him. She looks a bit dead and bored or even tired at the same time you couldn’t distinguish it.
“Ever heard of a hyde?”
Tyler asked which made me raised a brow. I would have never thought that Tyler Galpin, the son of sheriff Galpin, the self-proclaimed prince of Jericho and an excellent bully would know anything about the supernatural.
“I might have read a thing or two.”
“Tell me.”
The pale girl with Tyler said, well more of demanded.
I stared at her for quite some time before I motioned them to follow me. I went to my mini library that contains all the books I need about the supernatural. I look for that ancient, brown book that I knew I read about the hyde.
“Here.” I flipped through the pages until I stopped when I saw the chapter made specially for the one I’m looking for.
“ The Hyde is a lone entity who shares its identity. It never really shows unless triggered. There are two ways a hyde can be triggered - hypnosis and unlocking a trauma within the host. A hyde can be past generationally and can skip-”
“That’s enough.”
I was cut off by the pale-looking girl, who I think doesn’t have any manners growing up, given her attitude.
“Can you help us, I don’t know. find the hyde?” Tyler asked.
“I could..if you have anything that belongs to that hyde?”
“Does a blood work?” The girl intervened.
“Blood works best.” I smiled as I went to prepare for everything that is needed to locate the hyde.
“Wait, you do know my work costs money in exchange, right?” I stop mid-way in doing what I was supposed to do.
“How much?” The girl asked, grabbing something from her backpack.
“How much you can give.” I shrugged.
-
They gave me a blood from a cloth and I began to chant as well as the candles begin flickering.
I saw a boy, a teen boy whose painting clawed him? the blood came from that.
“I’m sorry, Wednesday and Tyler. But this blood isn’t a hyde’s blood. I saw where this blood came from when I was looking for the supposedly hyde of yours. And he wasn’t it.”
Wednesday started glaring at something before storming off my cabin and I just gave Tyler a weird look.
What an odd couple they would make.
-
That night, I couldn’t sleep. I just kept thinking about the hyde and why do they want to find who that was. At times like this, I hate how much of a curious cat I am.
I started reading every book I own and even using the internet to know anything about the hyde and I did..
I started chanting the spell I saw on one of the family’s grimoire and I didn’t expect to see what I just did.
I re-read the spell and re-do it multiple times just to make sure I did it right. The spell was supposed to know who the hyde’s host at the time but I didn’t expect to see Tyler Galpin sleeping peacefully.
Witchcraft is magic, and magic never lies unless it’s being manipulated.
I don’t know what to trust. I stared at my family’s grimoire, there was a reason why we know so much about the hydes, we created them.
I’m going to make sure I saw the right thing. Even if Tyler is hyde’s host, who in their right mind would unleashed it?
-
After what I found out, I barely got any sleep. I decided to befriend Jericho’s local barista to make sure I saw it right
As I opened the only cafe in town, there was no really customers in sight, maybe a two or three?
I rang the bell twice before I saw Tyler coming out of the kitchen and he look surprise to see me here, I mean I would too.
“Wh..at can I get you?” He asked, unsurely.
“One cold vanilla latte with cream, please.”
“That’s one of a sweet tooth you have.” He grinned
I smiled at him sarcastically before slipping my money to the counter.
“On the house.” He said before making my drink.
I slid into one of the empty booths near the window and waited for my order. Not five minutes later, Tyler sit in front of me and handed me my drink.
I raised my brow at him and he seem to get my question because he immediately answered.
"There's not much people to take orders, anyway." He shrugged.
"So.. What makes you go here?"
"Can't a girl just have a coffee?"
"Not you. Pretty sure the last time I saw you at school you said "I enjoy tea over coffee" "
huh, that was like 2 years ago?
"Maybe I just wanted to see the cute local barista working here." I shrugged and sip on my coffee. It looks like he didn't expected my statement because he chocked on his saliva.
"You think I'm cute?" He's flusttered.
"What makes you think I'm talking about you?" I smiled.
"Mhm, maybe because you went here when my shift just started and I'm the only barista in sight?"
I rolled my eyes at him and just started drinking my coffee.
"I'm kidding, y/n." He laughed before going back to the counter to take orders.
I analyzed him when he was busy looking. He doesn't really looks like a hyde to him. He seems too nice.
I grabbed the tissue to wipe my mouth when I notice there was ink in there.

I've seen a couple of accounts on here with the term "endogenics/endo systems DNI" in their bios, and that's pretty frustrating for me and my headmate Rayx. We have met both "traumagenic" and "endogenic" systems (and when I was younger and newer to hypnosis, I even created a few, on accident and on purpose) and we've met lovely systems on both sides, and Rayx's partner is part of an "endogenic" system. But an even more fundamental issue is tying your system's identity to trauma and trying to create an "us vs. them" dichotomy in an area that makes no sense. Systems and alternate personalities are all different from system to system, alter to alter, and trying to fit everyone's differences into just two boxes feels limiting, dumb, and allows for bigotry. I've met systems that contained alters that were considered "traumagenic" and ones that were "endogenic" all in the same headspace, how do you categorize that?
There is a great blog post I found that suggests a broader spectrum to categorize alters in systems (and as for Rayx and I, we like thinking of ourselves as an adaptive/spontaneous system rather than one based on trauma; sadly, the graph image seems to no longer be there), but even then, labels aren't going to fit for everyone, and not everyone wants labels.
Lately, I've been meeting a ton of systems and it's been really refreshing and exciting, and it's really rare that the concept of trauma comes up, and I haven't heard of endogenic systems be brought up by any of them. If other systems/alters not forming from trauma is something that bothers you or makes you feel like your experience is invalid, then I ask you to really consider why you feel that way. And if you are still going to not welcome endogenic systems, then I kindly ask you to stop interacting with me; I do not want that kind of bigotry near my blog.

Possible TWs if I get there: domestic assault, sexual assault, corpses
I've been trying to conjure what to write about Shadow the Series since I binged it last week. It seems tenuous to make any guesses about this show, since each episode does it what needs to do, and adds information that colors and has me questioning any theories I'm coming up with. Instead, I'm just going to meditate on a couple of bits that are sticking with me, and questions that I have about references the show may be making. Full disclosure: I have NOT spent enough time searching for meta in the tag, so my apologies if I'm repeating anything that's already been written.
1) The scene in episode 3 with the monk had me thinking a lot. In reference to an unrelated conversation with @lurkingshan, the legend of the story of villagers sending dead bodies floating down a river as sacrifices to local wild ghosts -- and the timing of the Catholic school being built after World War II -- had me thinking if, within that legend, there were any references to the building of the Burma-Siam Railway, also known as the Death Railway. I rewatched that scene yesterday, and noted that the referenced dead bodies were not necessarily attributed as being of the village in which the monk is from.
I'm extrapolating: taking into consideration that memories of assault or trauma among children are often dissociated into stories (think Life of Pi), the same will often go for local legends of attack and war. Again, I'm extrapolating, but I think it's interesting to note that this school was built on otherwise venerable grounds, meaningful to the local villagers, and that ghosts considered inhabitants of this area began to rebel against not being worshipped.
Catholic schools in Southeast Asia were already plentiful before WWII due to colonialism; in fact, a Catholic school built AFTER WWII would be relatively new, as compared to schools built before and at the turn of the 20th century. I wonder what it meant that that school was only built after the war.
2) I very much appreciate that Dan never lacks a critical eye or question. He heard from the monk that he should use his dream ring to bring him back to reality; but also, that staying in the dream realm for too long would expose him to "things he shouldn't know" (I'm paraphrasing). And Dan asks why.
Dan's someone who questions, and who lets other people who that he's going to question.
I appreciate that while the set-up of Dan's exposure to the Buddhism of the monk seemed like a reprieve from the weird-ass vibe of the Catholic school -- that Dan didn't fall into the mindset that what he was experiencing at the temple was necessarily "a" or "the" right path. The monk still told him -- as so much of Christianity tells Christians -- to not question certain things, which is out of the possibility of Dan's internal philosophy to find answers.
3) A priest using hypnosis. SMDH. "Feelings aren't reality"? Biatch. I got shivers when Anurak popped out the Rorshach drawings.
4) I mentioned this to a few other folks, but it's definitely giving me the jibbles that Nai seems okay with Dan taking the fall (multiple times) for Nai's revenge scheme against Anan. Without intervention, the oppressed will oppress.
5) Episodes 6 and 7 did not seem as tight as the earlier episodes; it seemed to me that the show, as it continues, is holding a lot of stuff, and will need to unwind on this stuff as we near conclusion. I'm hoping for a tight ending, but we'll see.
I have no theories on the shadow, except, again, many of those who have suffered trauma as children may experience dissociation. But I'm not going to offer that as a theory for conclusion -- it's far too early to make those conjectures. My tastes having me paying continued attention to the themes of Christianity living side-by-side with Asian traditions of religion, spirituality, and local/regional practice, and what it means to have your questioning sides shut down when one has questions about how these cultures co-exist, if at all. I see the clash of cultures especially as juxtaposed during the funerals of Dan's parents at the temple, with Anurak visiting both times.
This is a FANTASTIC show, and it's honestly a HUGE refresher to take a break from traditional BL to watch a queer thriller. I can see that Nai may be attracted to Dan, but I'm honestly so glad to not actively ship Fluke and Singto. They are SO GREAT in their roles, holding their own, and I would be perfectly happy with no couples at the end of this show -- this wouldn't be an element to an excellent ending that I need or that I'd ask for.

A light shining in the shadow
Tumblr media
Warning:This story contains soft, safe vore, hypnosis, trauma, angst, aftercare, consensual fearplay(both the prey and pred are okay with it)Cussing(In thoughts, not aloud)
Jade POV.
A sharp claw slides over my neck gently before flicking up and turning my head up to look at the bird wyvern. Flashing lights echo from the frills and force me to try to look away as his mouth comes near my face as he begins licking up and down my face with his long tongue. The raptor gives a sharp grin and makes sure that I get a good look at his fangs before sitting back up.He cocks his head towards me and opens his frill again before it begins releasing flashes again.Against my will,my body begins to relax as the flashes slowly break into my mind.Images flash infront of my eyes,an old cell,a set of chains, two men taking their shirts off as I'm strapped to the bed,a whip held over my head.I begin reeling back and begin squirming before the images begins to slowly change, bright light flashing through the closed doors tiny iron bars,a man kicking the door off of its hinges,a large Tzitzi-ya-ku carrying me out of the facility.I blink a few times and fully snap out of the trance that I was placed in,a soft and warm throat wrapped around me.I begin kicking and struggling as I am slowly swallowed down, the raptor happily clicking and licking up and down my stomach.I flinch at the contact on my skin and the swallowing stops for a second before swiftly resuming and sending me down to my knees where it continues to tease my legs with its tongue but never going over the knees with it tongue. It takes one more powerful swallow and pulls my feet into its mouth where I gently squirm as I feel him tickling my heels with his tongue. He finally fulls sends me down to his stomach and when I hit the tight sphincter down I squirm uncomfortably from the tightness before my head gets put into its stomach. After being fully engulfed in his stomach I sit in the damp darkness cradling me before after a moment I speak aloud"W-was that o-okay Kag-Kagayaku?"The bioluminescent organ around me begins dimly glowing and letting me see as I hear a happy chirp.
Kagayaku POV.
I happily cuddle my slightly swollen belly and give a happy chirp. "Of course it was okay,it was amazing, little Jade."I think joyfully. She sighs in relief before asking."C-can you t-turn of the b-bioluminescence p-p-please so I c-can s-sleep,if that's o-okay."I shut off the dim lights in my stomach and rub my stomach a bit before standing back up and walking back towards the village.I walk towards the front gate and nod to the guards and the one on the left gives me a wave and bangs on the door which is swiftly opened.Walking in I see that a large amount of people are gathering near the front of the village where a traveling salesman is trying to sell some sort of bullshit and notice Hyōga,our resident Legiana,is already sneaking up on her new meal so I just continue on,hearing a loud thud and some muffled screams and alot of laughter.I walk into the main base and see Gale looking tiredly at a large map on the central table. He looks up at me and gives me a tired grimace before asking"Jade tucked in?"I nod happily, but now a little worried. He shakes his head before sighing and asking,"Do you think she hates me,I swore to find those bastards and put an end to them almost two years ago but now their trail is completely gone and I feel like I'm letting her down, hell, you've done ten times more for helping her than I have and all you do is cuddle and ear her!"I shake my head and give him a hug before noticing Bubble, the female mizutsune he saved when he was younger sneaking up behind him.She leaps forwards with a wide open mouth before catching his head on her tongue and rapidly swallowing her charge before giving me a cheeky grin.
Jade POV.
I shift around in the tight organ as my eyes crack open before I sit up and quickly cover my mouth before coughing. After a moment, something slides into the chamber with me.I pick up the bottle and quickly pull off the top and down the water in only a couple seconds before I begin stroking the walls around me before quietly asking"M-may I come o-out now,Kageyaku"He gives me a happy chirp before the organ around me begins tightly squeezing and pushing me up.I slide through the tight sphincter into the esophagus. It takes two or so minutes to get fully up to his mouth where he gently licks my face before opening it widely and laying me on a table. He gives me a happy click before picking me up in a hug while chirping gladly. He chitters while circling around himself and places me on his stomach before reaching off to the side and pulling a ziploc back with two sandwiches in it which I happily accept. He cuddles me against his gut as I scarf down the first sandwich and start on the second one before I feel his tongue run over my face as he licks the saliva off of my skin.I hold to him again as he rubs his talons gently across my back.
Kagayaku POV.
I gently cradle the human to my stomach, making sure that Jade's comfortable before beginning to clean my saliva off of her skin.I try to ignore her flavor as I clean her and rub over her back while she snuggles up to me.I hold her to me as I carefully lick the saliva off her face while struggling to not take a deeper taste but somehow succeed at not getting to much of her flavor.I happily hold her against me while using my hind leg to grab a blanket and pull it over her body everywhere but her face and begin rubbing her hair before hearing her softly ask"C-can you put me to sleep,Please?"I give her a small smile and agree with a chitter so she looks up at me, and I place one claw gently on her chin and turn her up to look at me as I slowly open my frills and begin rhythmically flashing the luminescent appendages on my head as she watches with her eyes slowly glazing over and I give one click and she slumps over into my arms in a hypnosis induced rest.I place her against my stomach while pulling the blanket on her and rub her hair. She moves slightly to cuddle into the warmth of my belly.I hold her lightly"Sleep well little Jade"I think"No one will hurt you as long as your with me"

Summary:The spring semester has begun and Reader finds herself ensnared in the trap of charismatic psychology professor, Henry Creel. When her relationship with the professor becomes all consuming and strange things begin to occur, Robin, Steve, Nancy, and Eddie race to uncover the truth before they lose Reader forever.
Warnings: mental health discussions, past trauma, mental abuse, murder, gaslighting, violence, hypnosis
Link to part one.
“I’ve spoken to your other professors, they say you are brilliant. I think they are incorrect, wouldn’t you agree?”
You looked at your psychology professor of only three weeks, bewildered with mouth agape, semi resembling a dying sea bass. There’s no sign of joking in his tone or sparkle in his eye, as if he asked you about today’s weather rather than anything else.
“I’m sorry, I don’t think I understand, is this about the test? You gave me an A, did I do something wrong?” You asked, sinking into your blazer while Professor Creel observes you like a cat sunbathing near a mouse, just as content to watch potential prey as it is to hunt it.
“Every answer was correct, I can see that you studied, however I can also see that you are deeply and utterly mindless. Your mind is as empty as it is open and I think you know that.” He said again with no hint of malice.
You stood up, bag in hand, already going through the hours of the registrar in your mind to see if you could drop intro to psych today, a tight smile on your face. You knew the rules, if you did not smile, you would be seen as angry and to be angry and brilliant is only admissible for whom the world indulges.
“I’m sorry Professor, I think there was a mistake with the registrar and I’m not actually supposed to be in this class. I don’t want to take a spot from a student who needs this class, I hope you understand.” You said voice even and turned toward the office door but his hand closed tightly around your wrist.
Somewhere, a clock chimed.
“Let go, you’re hurting me!” You yelled but a clock chimed again and you stood still.
“I’ve been watching you for quite some time, so lonely, so guilty. I can fix that, I can fix you.” He whispered but you yanked your hand out of his grip, racing for the door.
A clock chimed again and stiff as a board, you fell backwards, silently creaming for help.
For them.
Robin’s scream ended just as quickly as it began, Nancy’s hand over her mouth.
Eddie, Robin, Steve, and Nancy stood almost as still as you did, rooted in fear of you making even the slightest movement.
Nancy was the first to make a move, fast and silent up the stairs with the rest of her lovers on her heels, whispering back and forth as they made their way to the third floor banister you were poised to swan dive off at any minute.
“What do we do?”
“We have to wake her up!”
“You’re not supposed to wake a sleepwalker, Steve!”
“Does that look like sleepwalking, Robin?”
It didn’t.
It looked like you were frozen in place, eyes open but not open, fluttering this way and that, standing on a thin banister that was not meant to bear the weight of a human being in Bart Simpson socks.
It looked horrifying.
It looked impossible.
Steve made a move to grab you first but Nancy stopped him, drawing him back.
“Nancy, what the hell?!”
“If you do it too fast, she could get hurt, you could get hurt! Look at her, she’s not moving at all, we’ve made noise, there are noises all around this house and she’s still not moving. Whatever we do, we have to do it slowly.” Nancy explained, looking back at you, the fear she had tried to keep from her face in full force.
Steve nodded, moving slowly with Eddie on his other side, practically in slow motion in their short agonizing walk to you. Steve gently snaked one arm around your waist, the other around the back of your knees while Eddie waited to guide the rest of you safely down to the ground.
Robin scampered over to an old ratty chair on the landing, grabbing its cushion and placing it down on the ground as a marker for them to place your head. Nancy took a spot right next to them, three fingers in the air.
“On the count of three, okay?  One, two-
“So no one told you life was gonna be this way?”
The downstairs tv blared and a clock somewhere else chimed, causing you to open your eyes wide with a gasp.
And your foot to slip.
You don’t know how he was not seen but Creel carried you to his car like a broken down doll, your eyes wide open and stuck as he shoved you in the trunk with something else.
Not something.
Someone.
“Please don’t try to scream, you’ll choke. She was a failure like you but I couldn’t make her better, I tried so hard to make her better!” Creel bemoaned, hitting the steering wheel over and over until his knuckles turned red before straightening in the driver’s seat.
“You won’t remember this but it’s nice to have some company for the kedeia. We can go over your new academic career while we drive!  You will be seeing me four times a week for tutoring, evaluation and further punishment.  After this semester should you not disappoint me and I don’t kill you, you will change your major from that garbage to a double major in classics and psychology with me as your adviser, won’t that be perfect? You will have to live with me and leave those degenerates behind but it’s a sacrifice you’re willing to make.”
Creel continued to talk but all you could do was stare into the face of a dead young woman you now recognized as your former classmate, her bloated face frozen in an expression of pure terror mere inches from your own.
He propped you up in the car somewhere in the woods behind campus and made you watch as he reorganized a funeral pyre.
He had done this before.
“To Athena, we commit one of your failures to the earth. May her disappointments burn away as quickly as her flesh.” Creel whispered, tossing a lighter onto her body.
All you could do was let out a choked guttural moan as he got back in the car.
“Don’t be afraid, it will be over soon.” He whispered, lips on your cheek.
Somewhere, a clock chimed.
You were falling.
There was no time to wonder how you were falling or why when hands roughly lifted you, your arms nearly pulled out of their sockets as your lovers hauled you back over the railing, falling over in one breathless heap.
No words are spoken on the floor, just weak attempts at catching breath and subtle glimpses at the railing to affirm that whatever just happened really fucking happened.
Robin’s around your middle first, her head resting on your stomach, tears wetting your apparently sweaty t-shirt, holding you so tight it should have hurt but the weight of her keeps you from dissolving into screams.
Nancy’s next, hands running up and down your body to check for blood or bones that would have broken had you actually fallen. When she’s satisfied you are not mortally injured, she draws her forehead to your feverish one, hand cradling the back of your neck, a series of quiet sobs escaping her.
Eddie’s hands sort of hover over you, face in between in worry and damn near grief, too scared, too relieved, too everything to touch you at first before giving in and leaning you against his chest, rocking you, for his benefit or yours you’re not exactly sure but you don’t want him to let go.
Steve’s lips meet every inch of exposed skin, a fury of wet kisses all over you in an attempt to drown out the sound of his own muffled crying but with one last kiss on the top of your head he breaks, big fat tears rolling down his cheeks, arms stretched wide to somehow hold each and everyone of his lovers.
The moment you’re truly enraptured by their almost sorrow is when you allow yourself to shatter, sobbing in fear and confusion, holding on to Robin, Nancy, Eddie, and Steve as if your life depended on it.
Because it did.
A clock chimed somewhere but this time, you didn’t hear it.
“The last thing I remember is you coming to pick me up from tutoring, everything before and after that is a blur. Everything’s been blurring together these days, I know there’s something wrong but I don’t know what, it feels like I’m losing time.” You said, draped in just about every blanket in the house, sitting on Steve’s lap, his arms around you like a seat-belt, Robin holding one hand and Nancy the other.
“You don’t remember anything that happens when you see Creel?” Eddie asked, pacing around the living room.
“Not really,  I have these flashes, a clock,  the trunk of a car,  a fire but I can’t put them together, it’s like something doesn’t want me to.”
“ Or someone.” Nancy said grimly.
“Professor Creel is doing something to me, something I can’t fight, something I can’t control, all I know is that it-
“Will all be over soon?” Robin finished, placing your notebook on your lap and you look down at the pages.
“This is my handwriting but I don’t remember writing this. Fuck, what’s happening to me?” You exclaimed, eyes watering all over again as Nancy took you in her arms, transferring you from Steve’s lap to her own.
“What if this isn’t you losing your mind? What if you were warning yourself?” Robin asked, looking down at the paper again.
“ Again, share it with the class Robin.” Steve huffed.
“Whatever Creel is doing, you’re fighting it, you just don’t remember doing it. Those flashes, this paper, you’re leaving yourself clues. You’re not a mad woman, you’re a goddamn survivor.” Robin said, kneeling in front of you, taking your face in her hands.
“What if I’m not strong enough to fight him?” You whispered.
“You don’t have to be, we are.” Steve said, with a hand on your shoulder, kissing your neck.
“We won’t let anything happen to you angel, he doesn’t know that we know and we can use that to our advantage.” Eddie said.
This was all so overwhelming, your head was killing you, and you couldn’t help but feel like someone was watching you.
“Baby, your nose!” Robin exclaimed and you looked down to see blood dripping down onto the blanket.
“He’s going to kill me.” You muttered quietly but Nancy calmly tilted your head forward and kissed your blood stained lips.
“Not if we kill him first.”
This is going to be a three part story! Sorry for the wait, but I hope this makes up for it.

hi just an update from my trying to pay attention 2 cinematography cm rewatch. i'm on retaliation which i think is largely kind of cool-- like following the car accident you have this pretty intensive half-pov stuff with prentiss which is inconsistent but pretty cool insofar as you're getting a clear sense of her experience (fractured and phasing in the immediate aftermath of the crash, extremely jerky handheld cam work) as well as what she's seeing (the pov shots of her shooting (ha) have always stuck out in my mind as really interesting moments in cm cinematog). the close-up & extreme close-up shots of her also really work to situate this sense of subjectivity; so when we cut in to specific details or get these full & wide shots of some of the action, we get the sense of what she's focusing on.
on the other hand though this strikes me as like, kind of... short-sighted? poorly conceived? like, as the episode goes on we'll get to see these moments revisited in the cognitive interview. and we've all had our yuks about how criminal minds treats cognitive interviews like magic, the scenes basically work like tv representations of regression hypnosis but without any formalized therapeutic element, etc. the idea is, more or less, that behind the actual memory there's this near-perfect sense memory that can be excavated with the care* and technique** the bau agents wield.
[*slowly and gently asking questions. **asking the witness to close their eyes before asking questions.]
the problem is that, as the episode has it, we've seen the memory already. this hypersubjective pov stuff is insisting we're experiencing the crash and its aftermath as prentiss does, or at least, the way she's experiencing it is being visually and aurally translated for us. the way it's shot is jumpy, it moves almost by caesura: everything we don't see, or hear incorrectly, or see fading in and out we should understand to be similarly perceived by prentiss. some of the effects of this are really cool: for example, when we cut in to prentiss' bloody hand straining for the gun, it gives us a really clear sense of exertion-- all of her focus is on this act, just as ours is. this should entail that what we're not seeing is just passing her by in her state of distress. the cognitive interview shouldn't be able to revise the way this memory is, as this scene suggests, encoded. [like, yeah, okay, it's a bad theory of memory and physical/psychological trauma (shock, concussion), whatever, it's a crime procedural not a scholarly work on the philosophy of mind.] there's also that scene in the hospital where morgan and prentiss are arguing: she says the memory will never be fresher, hit me with that cognitive interview; he says she's in shock and concussed and has no capacity for recall. since the cognitive works, at least to some extent, the idea is that time enables recall: well past the traumatic event, visuals sharpen, that material encoded in your memory becomes clearer, etc. you might say that there's a clearly filmed version hiding behind the juddery & jumping scene we see at the outset of the event.
i guess i see this making sense insofar as the episode is insisting that the storage/input capacity of memory relative to immediate subjective experience is something like 3:1, so when we get to the cognitive interview we get to see the whole thing widen out and become clearer + more focused, including details we (& thus prentiss) didn't see in the moment-- like it does work with the quasi-magical way that the show depicts cognitive interviews. but like, with the exception of how close the shots are, there's little connection being drawn between the memory we're seeing during the cognitive and the memory we saw in the initial scene. the cognitive interview isn't meaningfully doing any work here-- prentiss doesn't even have her eyes closed, she's just... suddenly transported. the episode is trying very hard to be about perspective and memory, thematizing it in pretty much every way it can, but this weird distance between the experience and the memory means that there's nothing being actually said or explored about the process of recall that it's enabling. it's not even a really impactful set piece for the episode. idk. it's just annoying to watch an episode which is really clearly intended to explore the big funny device they use a lot (i.e. the cognitive interview) and then.... it just doesn't. lol

Hypnotherapy for Anxiety and Panic Attacks Near Me: A Proven Solution to Regain Control
If you’re feeling overwhelmed by anxiety or struggling with panic attacks, you're not alone. These conditions affect millions of people worldwide, making everyday tasks feel daunting or impossible. While traditional treatments like medication and therapy can be helpful, many individuals are seeking alternative methods that offer more lasting, holistic relief. One such approach that has gained significant popularity in recent years is hypnotherapy for anxiety and panic attacks.
Tumblr media
At Brad Buchanan Hypnotherapy, we specialize in helping clients overcome anxiety, panic attacks, and stress-related issues through the power of hypnosis. If you're looking for effective, non-invasive relief, you might be wondering, "Where can I find hypnotherapy for anxiety and panic attacks near me?" In this article, we’ll explore how hypnotherapy can help you reclaim control of your life and why our personalized services could be the solution you’ve been seeking.
Understanding Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Before diving into the benefits of hypnotherapy, it’s important to understand what anxiety and panic attacks are, and why they can be so challenging.
Anxiety is a general feeling of unease, worry, or fear that can range from mild to severe. It can manifest in physical symptoms like restlessness, tension, racing thoughts, difficulty concentrating, and fatigue.
Panic attacks, on the other hand, are intense, sudden episodes of fear that can feel overwhelming and terrifying. These attacks often come without warning and may include symptoms such as a racing heart, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, and a feeling of impending doom. For many, panic attacks can be debilitating and lead to avoidance behaviors, where individuals start to avoid situations that they associate with a panic attack.
If you’ve ever experienced anxiety or panic attacks, you know how difficult it can be to regain a sense of peace and control. Thankfully, hypnotherapy has been shown to be an effective tool in managing and reducing the intensity of both anxiety and panic attacks.
How Hypnotherapy Helps with Anxiety and Panic Attacks
Hypnotherapy works by addressing the root causes of anxiety and panic attacks, often on a subconscious level. Unlike traditional therapies that may only address the surface symptoms, hypnosis can help uncover deeper emotional triggers and negative thought patterns that contribute to anxiety.
Here’s how hypnotherapy can make a difference:
Accessing the Subconscious Mind Anxiety and panic attacks are often linked to subconscious fears, past traumas, or negative beliefs that we may not be fully aware of. During a hypnotherapy session, you enter a deeply relaxed state where your subconscious mind is more receptive to positive suggestions. This allows us to work through these unresolved emotional triggers in a safe and controlled environment.
Reframing Negative Thought Patterns Many people with anxiety and panic attacks have deeply ingrained thought patterns, such as, "I'm not safe," or "I can’t handle this." Hypnotherapy allows us to reframe these negative beliefs and replace them with empowering thoughts. Over time, this helps you feel more confident and less prone to anxiety or panic.
Learning Relaxation Techniques One of the core benefits of hypnotherapy is the ability to teach powerful relaxation techniques that can be used during times of anxiety or panic. By practicing deep breathing and relaxation during a session, you can learn to trigger the relaxation response when you feel anxious or when a panic attack is starting, preventing the situation from escalating.
Releasing Emotional Blocks Hypnotherapy helps to release emotional blocks that may be causing or exacerbating your anxiety. Whether it’s fear, guilt, past trauma, or unresolved stress, hypnotherapy can help clear these emotional burdens, bringing a sense of relief and emotional freedom.
Boosting Coping Skills Hypnosis not only works to reduce anxiety, but it also teaches you how to respond to challenging situations with calm and composure. Rather than succumbing to fear or panic, hypnotherapy can help you develop healthier coping strategies, making it easier to navigate stressful situations with confidence.

The process of becoming a certified hypnotherapist involves extensive study, practice and dedication. This is no easy feat, requiring a dedicated commitment to mastering the art of hypnotherapy.
Yet, it is this very challenge that separates an aspiring practitioner from a qualified professional. If you don't know how to navigate your way through hypnotherapy training effectively, reaching your full potential in this rewarding career might feel out of reach.
Finding quality Hypnotherapy Training near me is crucial. Without the right guidance and resources, one could easily lose their way or miss out on vital aspects of learning.
The Power of Hypnotherapy: An Overview
Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic technique that harnesses the power of hypnosis to help individuals overcome various challenges and issues. The process involves guiding people into a hypnotic state, which grants access to their subconscious mind.
In essence, it's not about losing control but gaining greater insight into one's internal world through this altered state of awareness. This approach is an integral part of modern hypnotherapy courses traditionally offered at Inspiraology® Hypnotherapy Training (IHT).
The Role of the Subconscious Mind in Our Lives
This deeper layer in our psyche influences how we perceive ourselves and interact with others without conscious realisation. Addressing concerns here can lead to significant changes in behaviour patterns or emotional responses.
Becoming aware of these hidden aspects requires expertise gained from certified programs like ASCH, which offers conventional clinical hypnosis training, or more innovative ones provided by other leading institutes.
Navigating Through the Hypnotic State for Healing and Transformation
Clients remain fully aware throughout sessions; instead, they experience heightened concentration where focus narrows down onto specific thoughts or feelings, enabling therapists to delve deeper effectively using techniques learned during their rigorous coursework included in most comprehensive live online training sessions.
Rapid Transformational Therapy: A Comprehensive Approach to Healing
An illustration of a one-of-a-kind combined approach is Inspiraology® Hypnotherapy Training (IHT), which amalgamates regular chat therapy techniques with elements from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Inspiraology® Hypnotherapy Training (IHT) is renowned globally for its effectiveness in dealing with complex cases requiring multi-faceted intervention strategies often unavailable in conventional treatment plans alone.
Hypnotherapy Applications and Benefits
The realm of hypnotherapy is vast, offering a plethora of applications that can provide substantial benefits to individuals grappling with various issues. Hypnosis training equips professionals with the necessary skills to utilise this potent tool effectively.
Treating Trauma with Hypnotherapy
One domain where hypnotherapy excels is in addressing trauma. By inducing a hypnotic state, therapists are able to access the subconscious mind, facilitating clients' confrontation and resolution of deep-rooted emotions linked to traumatic experiences. This process often leads towards profound healing and personal development.
Clinical hypnosis initiates things by creating an environment conducive to change within the individual's psyche. Through tapping into their inner resources, patients are empowered to overcome past traumas and develop healthier coping mechanisms moving forward (source).
Becoming a Certified Hypnotherapist
Aspiring practitioners keen on harnessing these transformative powers will require thorough hypnosis certification through reputable institutions offering comprehensive courses encompassing both theory and practice.
Understanding Certification vs Licensing
A common point of confusion among aspiring hypnotist examiners is that applicants don't always grasp distinguishing between certification and licensing in this field. While they serve as credentials demonstrating your competence as a practitioner, the implications vary depending on jurisdictional requirements or professional aspirations.
youtube
In many regions worldwide, including parts of the UK, becoming certified implies you've completed an approved course at one of several recognised schools, such as those listed under the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) or the American Society Of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). On the contrary, obtaining licensure typically involves meeting additional criteria set out by local regulatory bodies (source).
Select Your Pathway in Hypnotherapy Training
Picking suitable training programs requires careful consideration given there exist numerous paths available ranging from traditional approaches offered by ASCH up to more modern methods like rapid transformational therapy, which combine hypnotherapy techniques for maximum effectiveness.
Traditional Vs Modern Courses
The choice between conventional clinical hyp
Key Takeaway:
Whether you're keen to tackle trauma with hypnotherapy or eager to earn your stripes as a certified hypnotist, remember the journey is no cakewalk. It requires robust training from reputable institutions and an understanding of the difference between certification and licensing. So, don't just jump in feet first - do your homework.
Becoming a Certified Hypnotherapist
The voyage to attaining official accreditation as a hypnotherapist is an absorbing one, packed with possibilities for personal and professional development. This path requires the completion of comprehensive coursework in accredited hypnosis training programs.
These courses offer invaluable insights into induction techniques, deepening methods, suggestion management strategies, and more. They also provide supervised practice sessions where students can put theory into action under expert guidance.
Understanding Certification vs Licensing
In the realm of clinical hypnosis, let's start by distinguishing between certification and licensing - two terms that often create confusion among hypnotist examiners. Before starting your professional journey, it's essential to have a thorough understanding of the differences between certification and licensing.
Certification validates your skills through examinations conducted by reputable bodies such as the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) or the American Society Of Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH). These certifications are globally recognised indicators of competence in this field, assuring potential clients about the quality service you can deliver based on rigorous standards set forth by these organisations.
Licensing refers to legal permissions granted at the governmental level, allowing individuals to practice professionally within certain jurisdictions. It's a mandatory requirement in some places worldwide, including specific states in the USA, among others. Without a valid license, you could face serious consequences if found practising unlicensed, especially in regions where licensure is compulsory.
