Great Question!! And trust me, one that i've dug into- and half the reason that (for plot convinence for now) Cass is "studying abroad" set to return in a few months. But otherwise keeping contact online.

This will be heavily touched on when she returns to the narrative in a later chapter, but for now ill put in the general logic as to why this works.

Cass is an enigma, and I basically had to treat her like a mind reader. At least that was my thought at first, but she lacks one thing that mindreaders have by default.

Context.

Its the entire reason Tim has managed to ellude the family for so long, as far as she's concerned he's just a sad pathetic kid (instead of a snobby elistist, because she can see through that mask- but its not her place to force change)

Most of the Waynes dislike is over his reputation, which she couldnt give a flying fuck about.

The ONLY person who would peak her interest is Jason, because theres some history there. But she already knows the context there, and in a usual stubborn bat mentality she cant look from another angle she doesn't believe exists.

TLDR: Cass has never seen CARDINAL in person (at least close), Never met Alan, and never had that much of a vetted interest in Timothy.

But she's seen Tim- through the cracks in the mask, but just because she knows he's there doesn't mean she can do anything about it. She's a stranger after all.

Can't stop thinking about the idea of CATFA as a propagandised version of the Captain America story which exists in-universe and Steve seeing it and being absolutely livid about how 90% of it represents him.

Examples: being furious that it doesn’t mention his mother (his moral compass) anywhere, or his socialist politics pre-war, implies he only wants to fight to be like one of the guys and get a girlfriend?! (barely mentions Nazis),

implies he simply cannot have had any romantic attachments before serum, yet skims right over his disabilities as if his only problem was just being short, posits that Bucky would’ve spent his last night in Brooklyn off on a double date with two total strangers rather than with his own friends and family, (no mention of the Barneses anywhere?), 

has Steve scoffing at the idea of working in a factory (when he’d consider himself lucky to get a job in the times he grew up in), almost his whole relationship with the Howlies relegated to a single silent montage, none of the details of their missions shown except one, not a single girl in his USO tour gets a mention or name, ditto none of the women of the SSR/Army/that the Howlies met in the field, and wastes most of the screen time on that creepy violent nepotism-hire who was convinced Steve had given her some kind of secret signal he wanted to date her (at the time he just thought she’d taken the hint and was trying to beard him??), 

also puts her, Stark and Phillips in places they never went (why would a scientist, an old CO and an intelligence analyst be in Italy, or in the middle of a battle?? that’s not their job!), 

says Steve would waste his last precious moments of contact talking to a woman he’s not dating rather than saying goodbye to the men who’ve been fighting beside him for over a year?? 

And that he wouldn’t even bother to look for Bucky’s body?? (Only thing it got right was how much Bucky mattered to him / being a big part of why he wanted to fight!)

i meant to be writing angst but suddenly all i can think about is the comedic potential of riko ending up with the foxes. all the foxes are ready to give riko hell but then it's immediately apparent that without evermore and the ravens, he's just an angry cat that's had its claws trimmed. who knew it was possible to find someone even more helpless than kevin was when he first arrived. this is a guy who's definitely never done his own laundry or dishes in his life. they'd find him trying to load dirty dishes into the microwave or something. he'd definitely shrink all his new clothes into crop tops and dye the orange and white Fox team outfits an ugly grey by accident in a day. this is a guy who's probably never been to a bar or had alcohol in his life. he doesn't know he's one of those asians who're alcohol intolerant will try to copy kevin's drinking habits and end up throwing up on people at eden's within half an hour. he'd have separation anxiety so bad that he starts following people around and antagonizing them until they punched him. yeah sure, kevin was like a sheltered princess, but riko's like the worst 7-year-old you've ever met.

Finally watching Smile 2, I'm a little over halfway through and I'm not sure that I'm liking it quite as much as the first one. It's very good still! Very freaky, I love the cinematography and the elevated levels of mind-fuckery. But I feel like the first one had a much tighter grasp on the mental illness angle, in regards to the symbolism.

Having set up my new apartment, I think I am realizing I have built for myself everything my 16year old self ever wanted.

I have a cool customized bedroom where I can

•Listen to any music I want on my radio or record player

• Read all my favorite books I’ve curated in a pretty bookcase

• Make any kind of art I want at my home studio

• A closet full of cool clothes that reflects who I am

My pantry is full of food that I like and doesn’t have a lock

I live close by to my gym and I’m the most fit and healthy I’ve ever been in my life

I’m out as trans and I’m 9 months into medically transitioning

I have a really cool job at a museum

I show my art at a gallery

I have freinds

And I have firm boundaries with my family and finally privacy and safety from their control etc etc

I think my recent birthday, this move, and Mother’s Day put me in a reflective mood and realizing I’ve made for myself a life that I used to think I could never have as a teen and I’m like safe from the hell that was my childhood home..

It’s a weird feeling. A good place to be at 28 though I think. I feel like I’ve rescued my hopeless suicidal 16 year old self
