I might be missing something but that anon’s argument doesnt really make much sense because how I’m seeing it is they’re saying you’re being…idk how to put this. It’s as if that person saying the party is a punch in the face to nazis is mad at the party because that person supports nazis, which is not what you’re doing? You’re not saying “this post is anti-terf so the post is bad” like thats the opposite of what you’re saying

Harry Potter sempre foi meu livro/universo de conforto. É a primeira vez q eu falo sobre isso em pt br, mas meus pais são militares, a gente sempre foi meio q a familinha militar perfeita no quartel (papai, mamãe, dois filhinhos q eram obrigados a sempre serem os melhores ...) o problema é q tudo isso sempre foi uma fachada, pq meu pai era alcoolatra, ele abusava verbal e fisicamente de nós 3 sempre q ele tava bêbado, o q era quase todos os dias. Desde sempre meu irmão e eu fomos doutrinados a "acene e sorria" pra manter as aparência pq se os chefes deles dois soubessem disso, meu pai podia ser mandado pra reserva ou dispensado a bem da disciplina, e só quem ia se dar mal era a gnt financeiramente.

Foi ai q entrou HP na minha vida. Aqueles livros foram a minha tábua de salvação até a morte dele em 2002 e enquanto morava sozinho nos EUA de 2003 a 2014. O adolescente viado no armário, q já sabia q tinha algo de errado com ele tinha um lugar de fuga naqueles livros. Era aquele lugar q vc tem certeza q, independentemente do q aconteça, te nada vai te atingir pq vc tem pra onde recorrer quando vc tá na merda. E quem é queer sabe o quanto é difícil encontrar um lugar assim.

Só q com cada fala da Joana Catarina, esse lugar seguro foi sumindo, pq ela foi se radicalizando com gente realmente perigosa, como Jordan Peterson, e muitos simpatizantes nazista, que tem o mesmo discurso. Hoje, nós estamos em um ponto em que a comunidade trans ocupa o mesmo lugar que os judeus ocuparam durante o terceiro reich. O discurso e a influência da Joana Catarina alimenta esse tipo de gente que fala de deus acima de tudo, inclusive, esse era um dos slogans do AH e do terceiro reich. A repetição com que ela ataca a comunidade trans é um processo enorme desumanização e agora q ela percebeu q usar a Saga de HP dá mais poder de penetração no discurso intolerante dela, porque ninguém se interessa pelos livros que ela escreveu depois, todo mundo caga solenemente pra eles, por isso q fica cada vez mais evidente que não dá pra separar autor da obra.

E deixa eu te contar um segredo: ela não se importa com Harry Potter e nem se importa com vc que curte a obra. Ela se importa com o dinheiro entrando na conta dela, ela gosta que vc fique passando pano pra ela, pq ela pode continuar usando a Saga dela pra vender transfobia, racismo, xenofobia e antissemitismo a rodo, pq tem um legião de pessoas pra seguir o discurso preconceituoso dela.

Eu entendo de verdade que é foda de largar a nostalgia, pq é um lugar seguro, e é foda vc ter esse cantinho quentinho tirado de vc a forceps, pra ser jogado num mundo, com uma mão na frente e outra atrás. É foda essa sensação de desalento, mas também é foda ver que apoiar esse tipo de obra perpetua o sofrimento e dor de milhares de pessoas no mundo desde os anos 2000. É foda imaginar que vc pode ter contribuído para que milhares de pessoas tivessem seus direitos básicos negados, por conta de um livro.

Enfim, cada um é livre pra escolher o que consome, mas realmente espero que vocês tenham em mente que, esse tipo de discurso da Joana Catarina é responsável por fomentar gente da estirpe de Nikolas Ferreira, Arthur do Val e tchurminha boa MBL, além da radicalização acelerada que vemos hoje em dia nos Incels/femcels, channers e afins. Hoje em dia, não é mais o adolescente viado que tinha se forçar a ser hetero top que encontra o cantinho quentinho em HP ou Star Wars ou em qualquer obra com a trope de "O Escolhido", hoje são os incels, são os garotos brancos cishet que acham que acreditam que eles são os mocinhos e enquanto todo o resto tem q se submeter a eles.

option 1: the narrator refers to them by the wrong gender until the character realizes they are trans

option 2: the narrator refers to the character as trans way before they realize it in story

option 3: the narrator does not refer to them at all only the characters

option 4: mostly refers to them incorrectly but lets the correct gender slip sometimes

a personal rant, feel free to ignore.

I was part of a beautiful 4th wave feminist community that had fresh ideas, idealistic women, and inclusive space to discuss feminism... watching that space slowly devolve into transphobic hellhole was crazy. I took a break for a few weeks, and suddenly, "gender critical" bs was going around. I was speaking against it, and while there was no visible backslash against me, there wasn't any support or backup either. I realized a lot of sane people already left the space. how did the slow descent happen? the rowling rhetoric. I scrolled down for the weeks I missed and there she was. there was a rise in posting her ideas and defense with "she's just trying to protect women." now I've long left the space after making my point because there was really no hope left with them, but it was sad to witness all the same.

jkr is a dangerous figure simply fear mongering to a vulnerable audience most of the time. she is devious in the way she targets to hurt. institutions now backing her and aiding her cause is horrifying to witness. the woman is a holocaust denier, works with anti-feminist fiends, is homophobic and wants us to believe it's for "women." What women exactly?

tranphobia is also racist sentiment because at the end of the day, it calls for ALL women to look/behave like the ideal cis white women. for jkr, its women like her who are feminine and pale despite wtv other adjectives she uses. because, to them, femininity defines womanhood, and their femininity is white femininity.

Neoliberalism to Conservative politics is not even a pipeline. they're both the same circle. jkr has always been both.

TWs for themes of violence against a child, child abuse, torture, themes of trauma/PTSD, gory and violence imagery, unreality, liminal spaces, body horror, vomiting, animal death, uncanny/distorted faces and mentions of drug use. Also bright lights and generally unsettling imagery.
