COLLEGE/YOUNGER FIDDLEFORD RELATIONSHIP HEADCANONS:

🪕 Fiddleford is the type to cherish you with his whole person. Once he's dedicated himself to you there are no others & he thinks of you all the time.

👢His love language is acts of service and gift giving for sure. He's a mechanical engineer & knitter.

🐖 Is something broken in the house? It's not anymore! He'll fix the microwave over breakfast. Car's making a weird noise? He fixed it this afternoon cause he was just itching to do something!

🪕 When nothing is broken he'll make you little gifts. Little trinkets, knick-knacks, or evening knitting something.

👢He knits you all sort of things. Mittens, gloves, hats, sweaters, sock slippers. You can never have too many layers according he to him (he gets cold easy & assumes everyone else does too). And even if you think you have enough he's gotta make sure you have one in every color/pattern.

🐖 Hope you like the sound of banjo music cause when not fixing, or tinkering, or knitting he's plucking, and he'll play for you if you do like it. (Like I said before he's just always gotta keep his hands busy.)

🪕 I'm not gonna lie, the need to keep his hands busy stems from his anxiety. His brain is too active, too anxious to be left doing nothing. So if he truly has nothing to do he will spiral.

👢 In case of emergency PLEASE give him a puzzle stim toy. Rubix Cubes are his fav, but anything will do in a pinch. Just for the love of God; do not let him just suffer in silence. Cause he won't even say anything, he just doesn't wanna bother you, so his hands will start twitching and before you know it he's convinced himself you don't actually love him.

🐖 So please just be gentle, reassure him, and give him a stim toy

🪕 Anyway on a lighter note, he may be sensitive which leads anxiety. But it also leads to him being very loving & caring & compassionate. He's got a big heart with enough room for anyone.

👢 With that said, he most definitely is still close with his family so be prepared to visit them at least once a year. And he has a huge family for sure, all with just as unique names as him. (Hope you're good with names lol)

🐖 Don't worry though, his whole family is just as nice and accepting as he is. They immediately take a liking to you.

🪕 Let me reiterate in case you don't get it: he is a country boy. He can & will put duct tape on everything, zip ties are his best friend, he will walk places, he likes spending time outside. A small scrape, eh, he'll live. And he definitely knows the trick of super gluing or duct taping larger wounds.

👢 Also the type of country kid to like road trips. He'd much rather drive than fly. He enjoys driving and having you as his passenger princess (and he can drive stick or automatic).

🐖 If he is driving you know he's playing country music; and not that new aged shit either. Definitely a Cash, Nelson, Alabama etc guy. He will sing to you (albeit terribly)

🪕 Speaking of driving; he tends to drive one handed and stims with the other. Don't worry though he's a pretty good driver, bit of a lead foot. But if you're lucky he'll trace shapes on your thigh or hold your hand to keep his other hand busy.

👢 He drives a truck & it's name is Dolly. This truck is his baby, and he built/fixed it up himself. He does all its maintenance.

🐖 Now I know it's confirmed he chews dip, but let's be honest as an anxious man he knows it bad so you can easily convince him to quit. Especially if you support him & give him other outlets

🪕 He has a lucky/fav pair of boots. He's very attached to them & won't replace them until they are unusable.

👢 He can and will tell you terrible pick-up lines and jokes just to hear you laugh

🐖 A proper southern gentleman: opening doors, holding umbrellas, walking you to your door, linking arms with you so you don't slip.

👢 Likes porch-sitting/lounging with you. He'll lean you against him, wrap his arms around you to hold you close & talk low/gentle in your ear trying to savor the moment

🐖 He could listen to you talk for hours, banter back and forth with you, and just overall good active listener

🪕 Hate to break it to yall but he enjoys his beer on the weekends & smoking a little weed casually every now and then. So if that's a deal breaker tough cookies.

Hm... How about... Stanley Pines from Gravity Falls? I know most people would usually see Dipper and Mabel as Regressors (and it's really cute, no arguing there), but Stan is my favorite character and older regressors need representation too!

Yesss!!! Anon I couldn't agree more, Stan is such an age regressor and older regressors are incredibly valid and deserve more rep!! I did write a headcanon set specially for Stanley last year, but I'm excited to write more about him.

Baby- Do they have any nicknames that people give them while regressed?

Stan likes the classic boyhood names: sport, buddy, big guy/little guy (both are nice)

Caregiver- Do they have a caregiver? Do they want one?

Stan has never had a caregiver before, and he's never really wanted one: if he's being honest with himself, he feels like he's already disappointed enough family members, why add more? But I think that after reuniting with his brother and they do some travelling together, he might come to trust Ford with that side of himself.

Difference- What changes about them from being their usual self to regressed self?

Stan is usually pretty hard to impress, but as a regressor he's enthusiastic about toys, swimming, rubber ducks, and theme songs. He's also less bound to his adult routines, where he tends to get up at the same time, eat the same food, and visit the same places.

Gear- Do they have any regression gear?

Stan splurged on a stuffed bear with a big sweater that he really loves. He takes stim toys from the lost and found or from the shop itself (he really likes the cryptid snowglobes). He has a VHS box set of the Land Before Time. Nothing from his actual childhood: he didn't take anything nostalgic when he left.

Involuntary- Is their age regression through choice?

Not usually. He can sometimes choose whether to force himself out of it, when he wakes up feeling regressed, but sometimes it's too much work to get out of it.

Object- Do they have a comfort item while regressed?

His bear! With the sweater. They have matching sweaters. It's adorable.

Relationship- Do their partners or friends know about their regression? Are they supportive?

Ford had the slightest idea about it when he and Stan were teens, but he mostly brushed it off thinking that it was Stan being goofy. I don't think he's really opened up to anyone about it since then.

Yuck- Is there any part of their regression that they don't like or feel embarrassed about?

Stan used to really hate crying when he regressed, but as he's gotten older he's come around to the whole business. He does sometimes hurt his knees while playing with trucks though!

Kobra Kid Headcanons

- avid photographer. Cherri has a little dark room at his place and the two of them go on photography day trips and then hang out while developing the photos.

- He loooooves to show off his pictures, and they’re pretty good! He’s got a natural knack for composition and is very detail oriented, he can spend a really long time carefully setting up a shot if given the opportunity. His subject matter is fairly predictable: exceptionally cool cars/bikes/trucks, close ups of rare or weird car parts, decaying animals and animal skeletons, and bugs. Once in a while he’ll take a candid shot of Cherri or Poison or someone, or a landscape if something cool is going on, but 95% of the time it’s car or decay related stuff.

- He’s really sentimental, and his half of the room he and Poison share is decorated with his photos and the trinkets he’s collected over the years. He remembers the story behind every single one of them, and they are meticulously sorted by some sort of elusive criteria that Poison can’t quite figure out and Kobra can’t quite explain in a way that makes sense to others.

- Absolutely fascinated by vehicles. Can’t stress that enough, dude is ALWAYS thinking about cars. He loves to watch Ghoul work on cars in the shop and help her out when she’ll let him. It’s one of the few topics he’s interested in having an extensive conversation about. It’s basically impossible to be close to him and not pick up a lot of information about car parts.

- He’s got a little collection of die-cast cars and usually has one or more of them on him at any given time (though there are some that are too precious to him to leave their shelf). He does this half because simply having one with him is comforting, and half because he stims by spinning the wheels. He’s never been much of a “pretend to drive the toy car” guy.

- He’s fluent in both Japanese and English, and has picked up a handful of words and phrases in Spanish and Korean. He rarely verbally says more than a word or two unless it’s scripted.

- Generally relies VERY heavily on dialogue from The Mousekat Show for communication, though he’s constantly expanding his repertoire and picking up new scrips from the people around him too. He’s just extremely comfortable with his childhood scripts so he sticks with those a lot. It’s very easy to tell which scripts were taught to him by teachers or whoever because they’re much clearer to outsiders but don’t sound like him at all; it’s rather jarring if you’re used to his typical style of speaking. Very formal, VERY “city” style.

- He loves animals in general, but he had a startling and scary encounter with a military dog as they were leaving battery city and has been terrified of dogs ever since.

- Jet taught him to sew, and he does a lot of that. He does most of the mending and patching for the four’s clothes. He does some of that for friends too, which is how he finances his photography hobby.

- He and Poison have always been close (they’ve never known a life without the other, after all) but Kobra found it hard not to be somewhat resentful of his brother when they were kids. His disability and support needs were judged even more harshly in comparison to Poison’s extreme academic aptitude, and them being identical twins only made the comparisons and expectations worse. Poison has always seen him as an equal, but it was crystal clear to Kobra that people outside of his family only saw one of them as a full person, and it was understandably hard for him to not feel jealous and angry. Their relationship kind of struggled in their teen years and improved a lot once they left the city.

- He’s not religious or superstitious at all and has basically no patience for Poison’s fairly intense spirituality. He’ll put up with some amount of participating in it of it out of love, but he won’t pretend to believe.

uhhh here are some siren headcanons to celebrate the two year anniversary of my fic:

Harley got into a lot of fights growing up and had a reputation for being violent. she was targeted and harassed a lot growing up for being the daughter of a former sex worker. She doesn’t know anything about her biological father other than that he’s “hopefully dead”

Harley worked at a Hooters in undergrad, going by her middle name, Frances, since being barred from the 2012 olympics led to her becoming a brief national scandal. she only went back to going by Harleen once she was a doctor.

Harley doesn’t consider herself religious, but she celebrates the Jewish holidays her mother did raising her

Harley was a nintendo girly growing up, but money was always an issue since her mother had a criminal record. Her favorite GameCube games were Timesplitters 2 and Animal Crossing. Selina bought her a Switch once she started living with Ivy and Harley cried so much she threw up about it

Technically all three of my Sirens need glasses or contacts in some way, but Ivy’s eyes were seriously damaged from over exposure to light during her time under woodrue’s captivity. She has a serious sensitivity towards bright lights and the lenses in her pairs of glasses darken to help her adjust

Harley started buying (stealing) stim toys for Ivy, only to realize that she was a little addicted to them herself. Ivy broke the clicker of the first one Harley got her in a day because she pushed one of the buttons so much it popped out.

Ivy developed her love of music through hanging around with Bella in college. Her favorite musicians are Vagabon, Weyes Blood, Fleet Foxes, Beirut, Lucy Dacus, Sufjan, and Alex G. (which are all admittedly way less intense than the concerts Bella dragged her to)

Ivy’s technically the first and only human being to survive being decapitated in my fanfic. The Green is able to keep her head alive indefinitely, and her regenerative powers were able to reattach her to her body.

Selina picked her name purely based on the fact that it sounded cute alongside her sister’s, Alicia.

Before becoming a famous supermodel, Selina worked for the Penguin, while also working independently on the side as a dominatrix/escort. this was around the time she started transitioning and she was sleeping on an air mattress in Annika’s apartment

Selina had her suit custom made by someone she knew who makes BDSM fetishwear, but she made the gloves herself. The suit is skintight and leaves her with a very tasteful girlbulge

Selina has a full blown gaming rig. She, alongside Barbara, “dragged” Bruce through Elden Ring (his build was trash), and her favorite series is Dishonored.

Ivy’s murdered around 500 people, making her the most wanted woman on earth, Harley’s killed around 40 people, and Selina’s killed 2, something she’s desperately trying to hide from Bruce

Harley watches a LOT of anime. Her favorite is Kill la Kill. Ivy only watches BBC Nature Documentaries, the Sopranos, and Frasier.

Ivy’s got an absolutely huge dumpy. Harley, who probably has the strongest glutes in Gotham, and Selina, who in addition to already being build like a semi truck, has gotten a butt lift, are completely stunned by her ass. Ivy hates when they bring it up.

Autistic April Day 17: Disability support I have received.

Most Thursdays I have a support worker who comes and takes me on an outing. I usually like to go to the opshops with her. Opshops are fun to look at and sometimes I find cool things to buy in them.

My support worker knows where to park so I can get into each opshop without getting frightened with my agoraphobia. Sometimes I feel the need to run from her car too the opshop but she is very understanding with this.

After opshopping we Sometimes go to the library. I like to borrow books from the library or print things out on the computer like knitting patterns I find online.

It can be a bit changing getting into the libairy because the car park is around the back and the back door needs a libairian to open it up. I can't walk around to the front of the library because it makes me feel awful with my agoraphobia. So I stand near my support workers car which is my safe place in the car park while my support worker rings the doorbell and the librarian opens the door. When I see the door is open I run into the library where I feel safe. As I have a hidden disability and the sunflower lanyard isn't very well recognised yet in Australia yet the librarians can have trouble understanding what's going on but when we explain it to them they seem to understand. I hope in the future more people in Australia will recognise the sunflower lanyard.

We also go and have lunch at the pub and play pool on the pool table. I like playing pool. Sometimes I win and sometimes my support worker wins. Sometimes one of us sinks the 8 ball. I like Thursdays it's good to go out and do things with my support worker.

My headcanon is that the kids who are brought to the church to learn and be taught by the teachers there at one of the abbeys, is actually being taught to not be afraid of the ghouls.

So when one kid gives a ghoul a toy truck or a small blanket to hold if they are also scared, they take it and are allowed to keep it.

‘What..?’

‘My blanket, I’ve had since I was 2.. but you can have it.. Mrs. Grendel said that we hold on to things that make us feel safe and you look like you don’t feel safe..’

Ghoul takes blanket, ‘but what would you have?’

‘Oh my mommy bought me a new stuffy! It’s very cool! It’s got big blue eyes and it laughs when you tickle it’s tummy!’

Ghoul takes it back to their nest and sleeps with it and then years later has it on the road with them when they tour with Ghost.

I love the idea of the children being taught not to fear ghouls. Maybe it was also something that starting becoming very ingrained into the system after Copia became papa, though maybe Terzo started it.

The ghoul,,, taking the blanket and keeping it with them is so precious 🥺🥺🥺

Whenever they're feeling anxious while they're touring, since I know travel and new environments can be super stressful, they carry it with them and occasionally stim with it, gently rubbing the soft material between their fingers to soothe themselves.

we stayed in a hotel this summer - you booked it for us because i wanted a swimming pool. we could have slept in the back of your truck or a sandy tent but you think i deserve better than that. "i really wanted a pool." when i tell the other campers this they laugh like im a primadonna. i've never really gotten to play this role before. i havent felt treasured like this since i was a little girl. have i ever been held like this? i dont remember the last time i was allowed to be a baby.

we put on our swimsuits and make our way down to the pool. its so dirty it looks like something out of a saw film. we laugh and go back upstairs, back into pajamas, and back into the sheets. "do you want your toy?" im a princess. i always want a toy

the next day you take me to a gift shop where the entrance is a sharks mouth. i wear a polkadotted bucket hat. you buy me a $3 stim toy and i play with it the entire way home

I 100% agree that there's a psychic shield effect. imo most of being autistic is having heightened sensory perception or reduced ability to filter that perception at least. The world has a lot of kinetic energy constantly bouncing around, and people project a TON of energy.

I went with some friends to Seattle Pride this last weekend. It was...okay, mildly fun but when we got down to the tourist district and were packed like sardines in a can, my sensory overload couldn't do the light dissociation cope anymore. I felt on oncoming meltdown if I didn't have food or rest or shade or really just /get the fuck outta there/. Unfortunately the train home was even more packed, and all the food trucks had massive lines. I didn't want to meltdown in front of my friends and was doing my best to communicate my needs but it seemed impossible to meet them. The gal we just met, lovely fucking PLUR human with lots of rave experience, knew what to do: she gave me her silk rave headscarf, which was heavy and thick and cool. Wrapping it around my head, I felt the meltdown instantly dissolve and everything became more bearable.

She told me "Not to be woo woo but sometimes there's just too many people's energies in a space and you need a comfort barrier." Which...exactly! I wear hats at work, out to strange places, and at home wrap my head to do chores, wrap myself in robes and blankets to go out...all the time. My autistic brother used to wear his winter parka sipped all the way up over his face even in warmer weather.It maybe looks a little odd but frankly what's odder to me is so many people wandering through life completely exposed to florescent lights and buzzing sounds and traffic and sun and heat and cold and wind and each other's gazes and emotions. I love to uncover my head and take off my clothes in natural, peaceful settings where there is good energy to connect to.

And it's not weird or new in human history to use clothing or environmental elements to act as a barrier between unwanted energies. Head coverings are the oldest religious habit thing ever.

It's also comforting to have your gear and objects that allow you to get needs met. Even having a stim toy or a journal on me is calming simply because the protective activity is easily available. I love having my little pack of electrolytes and knee braces and gum and anti anxiety meds and earphones with me.

So TLDR I don't even think of assistive devices as a barrier between me and the world, but a filter or a protective coating that allows less painful interfacing and is necessary for focus.

Random Thoughts

I wonder if anyone has ever investigated the psychological shield aspect of assistive devices. By that I mean how they help us keep a wall between us and the world. Ok, that’s not clear, so here’s what I mean.

When I wore glasses I didn’t realize quite how much I liked the feeling that the world was out THERE on the other side of the glass and I was in here, seperated from it. Once I went to contact lenses I started wearing sunglasses a lot of the time.

When I’ve worn hearing protectors, there was the obvious reduction in sound, but also the feeling that I had something between me and the noisy world. It was very comforting.

When I rode motorcycles, part of what I liked was the helmet. It was a wall between me and the world. I had it on and the world would be out there, on the other side of the face shield.

What prompted this line of thought was a post to @autistic-af where someone was asking about going outside. They mentioned that they didn’t have any hearing protectors/noise defenders. I took this to mean the nice cushy muff style protectors. I was going to suggest inexpensive (like often less than a buck a pair) foam earplugs. But then it struck me that part of why I liked wearing my hearing protectors at my last job was the feeling of them surrounding my head. The world might have been noisy out there, but I could feel the frame on my hair and I knew it was protecting me. Ear plugs don’t have that. Like a little hug around my head.

What are everyone’s thoughts on this idea?
