I should probably do adulting today, but I’ve got new posts coming for a crossover I can’t stop thinking about. Like on one hand, and this is about Tale of the Nine Tailed and Vincenzo crossover, not the other one!
Adding Vincenzo was always a must and he will never be written out of the crossovers unless a specific part of the series is focused on other characters, but I know that Lee Rang and Vincenzo would be an unstoppable duo. I can’t share too much; however, you’ve got the BPD-coded fox and you have the head of a mafia (although I still refer to him as consigliere- I know he’d be capo!)
Do you realize the potential?
I feel like if it came down to Vincenzo meeting Yeon, they’re just thoroughly unimpressed with each other, but the ‘pack’ is what holds the group together… which I also will not explain yet.
As for the major, bigger crossover with The Glory and now possibly Taxi Driver too, it’s become something of a little pet project. Vincenzo and Kim Dogi would be a chaotic partnership, and well, we can’t forget about Moon Dongeun. They would be such a force to stop and Lee Rang is just the brainrot right now. I have no idea why, but here we are!
So. If anyone’s curious, I’ll post more later! And I do need to finish The Glory too-

Gonna be vague to avoid spoiling anything but putting it under a readmore just in case
So I loved Tale of the Nine Tailed 1938, just finished it, had a ton of fun and feelings and all that good stuff, but I feel like I now have SO MANY QUESTIONS about the timeline and how it affected the events of the first series?? Like there is So Much that just doesn’t make sense anymore and I’m Baffled that that was the last episode.
But on the other hand there’s So Much that I feel like just accepting a big ol hand wave. The ‘fuck it we ball’ approach to time travel fuckery. How did this affect things? Not in any way we’re going to get to see, and if they’d spent time on working out that tangle we’d’ve lost out on delightful brotherly bonding and big fights with bubbles and puppy nonsense and honestly? I think I’m totally okay with that.

I'm back (not into writing mode yet, I have 3 exams left with one of them being the worst subject to have ever been created, wish me luck 🤞🏻🙏) but yeah, YouTube shorts spoiled the ending for me so I'm back on the platform 🥴

Totnt 1938! Episode 4 thoughts!
*Spoiler Alert*
Ah everyone, this was such a freaking wholesome episode. I smiled through half of it. From the very first scene to the last one. Putting my thoughts on some major moments out here.
How I loved Yeon and shin ju teasing Rang about the mermaid throughout the episode. 😂It just made me giggle like a kid, the way they were teasing him about the horse ride. 😂 and the way they are already planning his wedding. Please don't make it all sad later.
Rang and the mermaid, they are actually veryy cute. I like that the girl has already decided that she is going to fall in love with Rang and make him fall for her. Coz with Rang's history, he would never be the one to initiate a conversation. You goo girl! ( Though everything was just so cute, the moment Rang talks about how yeon was his only family and he discarded him like trash 🥲 when will this not be a sore topic for me. I don't know.)
Every scene with the baby. It was pure gold. Lee Mi ho is an angel and she already has them almost wrapped around her little finger. I loved it all. And Yeon and Rang fighting side by side with those bubbles around them and just looking so happy. My heart felt light 🥺❤ and happy.
I love the Yeon this season. It's not to say that I did not like him the previous season. But I felt like he was pretty mean to Rang in the previous season which just made me mad at him. This one is just nice. It's clear that he has grown as a person, realises that he did make certain mistakes. (Though I still don't think anyone understands the extent of pain his mistakes caused. But yeah) This season he is this soft elder brother and I adore that. I loved that scene where he is taking care of a sick lee mi ho and rang is just looking at him, asking if he used to do the same for him. The more I hear about how much Yeon cared for Rang as a kid, the more it hurts me that he left him so carelessly while being heart broken over his girl. But this season might help me forgive him for it.
I am finally more interested in knowing about Cheon moo Young's character. He seems like a complex one. Someone who was a really lovely boy and he got hurt enough to do what he is doing now. Reminds me a little of Rang and it hurts me. He is trying to bring back his brother guys. I can't. I really really think that I am going to be hurting for him at some point. I will have to give tvn that they know how to make their villains grey.
Okay, so I adored this episode. It made me smile a lot.
But now, I am interested in knowing about how the past Yeon is going to fit into this entire chaos they have created. Also, did we again see Rang getting hurt next episode. This alternate episode hurting him is also going to be the death of me.
I am just so invested, it's going to be a pain waiting for next saturday 🥺

kie!! i’m in love with doom 🥺 [attention all others, doom at your service spoilers ahead]
i saw the kiss you were talking about, the kiss oh gosh i m e l t e d. the way she asks him to love her and he just smirks with his cute lil no and you can actually see the words fuck it flash in his mind before he goes in 🥵 ugh it was satisfying. and the kiss when she’s about to wish her loved ones forget her after she dies (ok i would have kissed her too, my heart broke for her) 🥺 oh and you know when he’s on his couch with his hand over his face and she just stares at him. and he turns to look at her directly. why was that so incredibly hot?? was it just me?? idk why but the over the top sexual stuff is never… how should i phrase this… like it’s never butterflies-inducing or heart fluttering? for me at least. for me, its the way he always holds her hand 🥺 or the way he looks at her 🥺 or the way he said she doesnt need a wish to make him fall in love with her 💔💔💔💔 and it doesn’t hurt that he’s exactly my type, an annoyingly smug brat with a questionable past and a heart of gold 🫢😘
i’m only on ep 9 and i just know this is going to end with me in a pile of tears on the floor. he keeps saying he’s gonna save her. which is possible, but what about him? what will happen to them? or her brother? what what what 😭😭😭 im scared
and the side story of jina and jooik and hyungyu!! i feel like it’s just getting started but i’ve seen enough of jina and jooik to be team jooik lol he’s adorable in a mr darcy sort of way. he seems incredibly kind and i feel like they’d be so cute together (and i mean, jina is pretty much elizabeth anyway)
ok now that i’ve rambled on and on, i shall be off 🫡 i hope you’re having a wonderful week, darling 😘💕
This man Lo, he could have anything (might contain spoilers)
Seo In Guk is so fucking adorable, like who allowed this to happen?
Tumblr media
why is all of him incredibly hot? And not in the typical cringe “he’s so hot -flips hair-“ way, he’s hot like the darkest embers of a fire. It creeps up on you. like A+++ to the stylist's man. his attire was 🤤
YESSS the build is truly so much more fist bite worthy. it's basically romantic foreplay. the little touches, the glances, the smirks, the laughs, the teasing. give me it all. his hand holding obsession makes me fucking 🫠 tell me that’s not Min Yoongi.
Her asking to forget her loved ones hit me in my core, I’m pretty sure I cried.
-sips brown sugar latte- have you seen Tale of the Nine Tailed 👀 because their plot lines are v similar. Although I found TotNT more dramatic, in a good way. Like I actually fucking cried during that drama. A couple times.
HOMIE this side story was EVERYTHING. I want a side drama of just them. I want to see Jooik PINE for her while she dates his best friend. This side story had so much depth to it. Not just to characters thrown together so that everyone ends up dating 🙄 I adore Kang Taeoh but Lee Soohyuk steals the show with his ethereal beauty.
Tumblr media
I also really love that “God” is a young woman in this 👏🏼
I hope you had a wonderful week too bby!

Spoiler alert! If you have not seen the K-dramas Tale of the Nine-Tailed or Sweet Home, do not click "Keep Reading"
Okay, so we really love the way the possession is depicted in TotNT. Like, yeah, it's technically highly inaccurate and plays into stereotypes, but the imugi acts in self-preservation, which leads to switching that ends up protecting Jia. And we also see the imugi being shown to be a complex character itself, rather than just using "evil alter" type tropes. Like, when Terry is surprised by his other half having differing plans for the future, despite both of them being the one and the same imugi.
In Sweet Home, we love how the "sickness" is depicted as another being in Hyun-su's mind, trying to convince him to let him (meaning the "sickness"/monster) to take over, and then later is shown to definitely be a separate being from Hyun-su. We really liked how the "monster side" took over one of the times Hyun-su was hurt to help with healing, and while we wish the show had let it stay that way, with the two of the them sort of cooperating/getting along, we also like how they showed him "Why do I care about them?! That's your thing!" during a period when he didn't want to give control back to Hyun-su.
Again, we wish it had ended more with them in a situation of working together and such, but there are definitely some very good strong plural moments in there.
The "monster" (since no better term was given) also -- at least to us -- feels like a very realistic persecutor depiction: He puts himself first and foremost. He helps heal Hyun-su because it benefits himself, not really because of wanting to help him. He lashes out when angry, but when he's not angry, he acts like anyone else (though perhaps with a bit more attitude). Like, the show gave him depth. He isn't just "Rah! I'm evil! Fear me!" It feels natural, and normal.
So yeah. We find it to be really good persecutor portrayal.
question 21: whats you favourite plural representation in media? you define what counts as "plural representation" here

Lee Rang Full Gumiho
Hello my beautiful people. I still haven't finished totnt 1938 but as I said in a previous post I have stumbled upon a lot of spoilers. So here's my take on Rang achieving to believe in himself and acquiring the powers of a full Gumiho in that era, but still being a half fox in 2020.
So basically, my thought process is the most basic. Our lovely mermaid died a tragic death, one that Rang coudn't prevent and lost total trust in himself and his abilities. His relationship with Yeon 1938 might have become strained again, since we see Rang be so cruel to him in 2020; they might have got into a fight. Maybe when Rang and our lovely mermaid were trying to survive, the young fox called for his hyung, but said hyung never showed up.
The outcome? Yeohee dies, with Rang probably being held by the people responsible, forcing him to watch as they kill the love of his life in front of him. How they take her scales in order to sell them and gain money; and Rang?
Rang is left more broken than ever before. Even as a full fox he wasn't able to protect the woman he loved, and still loves. Yeon never showed up to help him, no matter that they had made amends. The promise that he would protect him, that he would be there if he ever needed him is once again broken. And he is left there, in a world without the people he holds dear; with one of them brutally murdered and the other nowhere to be found. Alone in a cruel world whose only purpose is to make Rang's life as miserable as possible.
So he gives up, if life is only going to be cruel to him, then be it. He is going to be as cruel as he can too. An eye for an eye; there's no purpose in his life anymore, no purpose to keep his aching hurt beating, no purpose other that revenge, other than making the world suffer as mush as he has.
Somewhere along the way, he finds a new purpose; he finds a new family. One who finally accepts him the way he is, one who is happy to see him happy and healthy. Sadly, it seems that life has other plans and his brother gives his life for his beloved. Yeon does what Rang wasn't able to do, what he wasn't strong enough to do; and he has to give it to Yeon. In the end, he did exactly what he was out to do ever since Ah-Eum sacrificed herself for his sake.
Apart from Yeon being able to do what Rang couldn't, he also forces Rang to be the one to take his life. And there Rang is, being the one responsible for the deaths of the two most important people in his life. How could he ever move forward from that?
So when he gets the chance, he offers his life in exchange for his brother's. He at least manages to repent for one of his sins and give his brother more time with his loved ones than Rang had and craved. And somewhere deep in his mind, in his soul and in his heart, he is aware he is also sacrificing himself for Ji-Ah's sake as well. Because he knows what it's like to lose the person you love the most and be forced to keep living without them. It's a thought he never shares with the world, not even when he is so close to his death. Then, he is gone with the world ignorant to his kind, loving and protective self. He was always a martyr afterall, and martyrs never get a happy ending.
Bonus: The people who killed Yeo-hee are the people responsible for bringing the Imoogi back. The purpose of her murder? To break Rang in such a way that he will be more easily manipulated, that he will be at their mercy. He already owes them his life afterall...
