Had to look up Bondrewd’s Japanese VA because he honestly knocked those “oya oya oya” moments out of the park. The surprised “whoops” when he tells Nanachi that he *may* have already embarked on robot murder/experimentation had me crying.
In the absence of facial expressions, body language and voice are so important in how Bondrewd is presented in the anime. His voice absolutely lacks any malice or anger. Instead we get surprise, delight, and pride at the “accomplishments” of “his” children. There is no doubt that Bondrewd commits horrendous actions but his voice is so disarming. The armor is intimidating, the body language veers between gentle (the head pats) and violent (riffling through Reg’s intestines so casually) but the voice is consistently polite, encouraging, and, I hesitate to say this, kind. It is fatherly. And that makes him so much more scary.

Anyway, the VA is Toshiyuki Morikawa. He has also voiced Ubuyashiki in Demon Slayer, Isshin Kurosaki in Bleach, Naraku in Inuyasha, and a whole bunch of other characters.

Because Koki Uchiyama’s birthday, 16/08, falls on the same month like his character Rei Suwa, 10/08, the staff relegated him a birthday cake with both of their names on it from the DVD/Blu-Ray Volume 6 release party today.

Kyutaro Kugi’s VA, Toshiyuki Morikawa, was the special guest.
Volume 6 will have the fourth volume of CD Drama entitled, “Stay by my side forever.”
Setting is the aftermath of the Episode 12 where Kazuki and Rei decided to end their assassin life to care for Miri and be a real family. To escape the Suwa family’s wrath they left the town and moved to another place looking for another job starting anew. As Rei injured his arm, he couldn’t do anything else much so he had to rely on Kazuki.
You can access the video if you have purchased the Volume 5 dvd/blu-ray.
It is interesting to note that they are making a secret of the spread illustration of the digipak that usually is accessible on their website. I am getting curious.
I miss them so bad.

Today I learned that toshiyuki morikawa (lance's seiyuu in pokemas) conveniently voiced ethan hunt in the mission impossible movies, so... g-men lance is totally real! 🫡💥

I work as the head of the Demon Slayer Corps, just like my father and his father before his. I don't smoke, and neither do I drink. I'm in bed by 11 PM, and make sure I get eight hours of sleep, no matter what. After having my medicine and wrapping my bandages, I usually have problems sleeping, with strenuous coughs that leave me waking up fatigued and stressed in the morning. I was told that I was running on borrowed time at my last check-up. I'm trying to explain that I'm a person who wishes to live a very quiet life. I take care not to trouble myself with any enemies besides Kibutsuji Muzan that would cause me to lose sleep at night. That is how I deal with society, and I know that is what brings me happiness. Although, if I were to fight, I wouldn't lose to anyone.

I was trying to figure out why I found Mr. Chang so frustratingly hot and punchable in a familiar way

ESPECIALLY this GIF

Looked up his VA and, lo and behold, it's Toshiyuki Morikawa, who voices this other suited up, morally charcoal shooter

I think Blanca is worse, though. He genuinely sees himself as a neutral party and sees nothing wrong with coming out of early retirement just to ruin a teenager's life.
At least Chang knows he's awful and doesn't try to lecture anyone or act if he's above anything.

January 26: Happy 57th Birthday to Voice Actor Toshiyuki Morikawa, who provided the Japanese voices of the characters of both Kaname Tousen & Isshin Kurosaki on Bleach, Yoshigake Kira on JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Minato Namikaze on Naruto, and Eneru on One Piece.

As someone who was an Inu Yasha fan first and then played FFVIIR, I see Sephiroth as what you get when you put Sesshōmaru (looks&personality) and Naraku (voice&personality) together.
(Morikawa fits so well with both these villains..)
And not only that...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I think pre-Nibelheim Sephiroth is similar to Final Act-Sesshōmaru while post-Nibelheim Sephiroth is more similar to Sesshōmaru at the beginning of the series.
