Haunted Paintings Sketches!
Part one
I hope you enjoy the sketches I made of the paintings!
Also! You’re free to use my ideas (please give credit ofc) if you’d like, bc I REALLY don’t think I’ll write this one, no matter how much I want to. It’s just too much and I’ve already got 3 unfinished fics and several other series to write for. If you have any questions, feel free to ask or send me a submission! You can also DM if you’d like!
TW: mentions of suicide, murder, depression, mental illness, just really dark, creepy stuff bc these are haunted paintings and they torment people :/ no scary drawings tho! I only described them (click for clarity)
Tumblr media
Jazz:
Description: Jazz is sitting at a table in the middle of a flower garden with a book in one hand and a teacup in the other. She looks tranquil and is dressed formally. On the table are a few plates, a plate of cookies, a bookmark, an opened envelope and a bloody butter knife, and a teapot that is slightly out of view.
Use of mediums: gouache paint, watercolor, and pencils
Focus: Jazz amidst the flowers
Inspirations:
• The Queen of Hearts from “Alice in Wonderland”
• Galna from “Mairimashita! Iruma-kun”
Location: She used to be in the home of a random crime lord in Gotham for intimidation purposes. She was kept in the crime lord’s office before being relocated into Wayne Manor, where she sits in the hall across from the library.
Extra facts:
+ Her scary form would be one where her tea is filled with blood and the roses would be replaced with decapitated heads. The sky would turn dark red and the ground would be a pool of blood. Jazz would smile and look at the viewer with shark-like fangs and hollowed out eyes.
+ The tea she drinks is Darjeeling and the cookies are chocolate chip.
+ Although Jazz is the weakest painting, her effects are deadlier, more painful, and longer lasting than the others if her victims survive.
+ She causes paranoia and dizzy spells. Her effects are rather weak compared to the others, but when spending enough time with her, victims can also display symptoms of scurvy, which cannot be cured.
+ She was the first one I drew and also the easiest to plan. I just love her so much, she’s one of my comfort characters so it’s not hard for me to find ideas for her 😭
Tumblr media
Valerie:
Description: Valerie stands in the middle of a dark, foggy forest, wearing a long dress and pressed close to a tree as if she is about to hide behind it. A branch covers her face and the trees around her curve into a circle with multiple holes within them. There is a Fenton thermos in the background on the floor and an axe in front of Valerie, sticking into the tree and oozing something.
Use of mediums: pencils and watercolor paint
Focus: Her hidden face
Inspirations:
• The Son of Man by René Magritte
• The Beast from “Over the Garden Wall”
Location: She was kept in the back of an art museum, but the director has been hoping for someone to buy her and get rid of her, since he cannot handle the strain of having her inside of the gallery. Now she stands near the door to the entrance of Wayne Manor, a silent and deadly sentry.
Extra facts:
+ Her scary form would have her surroundings to turned into the entrance to a mouth or an intestine, red, fleshy, and bloody. There would be bones littering the floor everywhere and Valerie herself would become bloody and stained, with her face still hidden. Tortured faces would be seen through the fog.
+ The holes on the trees sometimes leak a mysterious substance.
+ Valerie is not the weakest, but she is not that powerful. However, she does amplify the others’ effects to fatal degrees.
+ She causes paranoia and auditory hallucinations, often causing her victims to feel as though they are being watched relentlessly, which cannot go away. Eventually, her victims will shut themselves into their rooms and starve to death from the fear.
+ She and Tucker had switched ideas, but I had to trash them. I never got the opportunity to draw those ideas because I struggled so much with Tucker that when I eventually got inspiration for Valerie, I just went with it. I’m quite happy with Valerie’s portrait now.
Tumblr media
Dani:
Description: Dani, dressed formally, sits at the head of a table with a large painting and curtains behind her. She holds a fork and a knife over a pig head. Her gaze is downward and she looks like she’s frowning softly. The dinner table is messy with three other dishes and a knocked over bottle of wine.
Use of mediums: oil paint and oil pastels
Focus: Dani holding the fork and knife
Inspirations:
• Rosie’s Tea Party by Mark Ryden
• “Spirited Away” (specifically that one scene where Chihiro’s parents eat the food)
Location: She was hidden by Vlad and kept safe with him. He keeps her in his office, where he can watch her. He only recently found her again, and he was determined to watch over her. Now she stays in the Wayne Manor's dining room, but often changes her position to be next to everyone else in the bedroom hallway.
Extra facts:
+ Her scary form would be one where all of her food dishes would be replaced by very obviously human parts, especially with the pig head becoming a human head. The curtains would turn to blood dripping down the wall and Dani would be smiling, taking a direct bite of the human head that was in front of her with her fork and knife.
+ The dishes she eats in the painting are: pig head, vulture thigh, lamprey eels, and sheep brain.
+ Her at the dining table is meant to signify greed and gluttony, 2 of the most simplest sins.
+ She causes great feelings of hunger and paranoia in others. When spending too much time with her, some victims turn to self-cannibalism to sate their never ending starvation.
+ Originally, both her and Dan’s ideas were switched, so Dan would’ve been the one feasting and Dani would’ve been the one looking at her reflection. However, I switched them around because I felt like it would’ve been spookier. I even finished the drawing with Dan and everything, but then I just erased him and drew in Dani 😓
Tumblr media
Dan:
Description: Dan is standing in front of a mirror, glancing behind his shoulder, while his reflection shows something different: him looking at everyone else and the door behind him by looking at the mirror. The party guests are all wearing masks and there are chandeliers on the ceiling. The party looks vaguely fancy, but messy with secrets.
Use of mediums: Oil paints
Focus: His reflection
Inspirations:
• Jeff Lee Johnson and his art
Location: He was kept in a locked safe within a rich person’s house in Italy. He had to been wrecking havoc on the nerves of everyone around him, but he is now safe and happy in Wayne Manor, where he is kept in the office to the entrance of the Batcave.
Extra facts:
+ His scary form would have all of the party guests dead, but their eyes would face the viewer. Dan's reflection would also be dead, but his actual self would be the same, only with an eerie smile as his eyes follow the viewer. In the doorway would be the figure of Danny. Blood would cover the entire floor and walls, but nobody would react to it.
+ Dan keeps his own masquerade mask in his pocket.
+ The woman who is directly staring at him is supposed to look like Maddie.
+ He causes viewers intense mood swings and long, often violent mania episodes or mind-numbing depression episodes. Those who keep staring at him will gain the feeling of being watched and haunted, often with visual hallucinations, resulting in losing their mind from fear and then killing others in their terror and panic.
+ I tried so hard to make Dan as handsome as possible. I think I pulled it off bc I’m a little bit in love with him ong, but I also kinda have to be bc I draw him so often
Tumblr media
Tucker:
Description: Tucker is in the back shot of a desert, with his back towards the viewer, staring at a large skeleton that is seemingly climbing over a large sand dune. The skeleton has flowers in its eyes, and its hand reaches over the horizon. There is a single sun in the sky and an arm holding a pocket watch sticks out of the sand close to the viewer.
Use of mediums: gouache paint, pens, and pencils
Focus: The large skull
Inspirations:
• JT Music (specifically their JT album covers)
• The Giant God Warrior from “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind”
• “Dune”
Location: He was originally kept in one of the rooms within the GIW headquarters. Now, he is kept within Wayne Manor, and stays in the theater room, where he whispers to the Wayne residents what movies he wants to watch. Sometimes, he moves to the garage.
Extra facts:
+ His scary form is one where the skull becomes covered in meat and flesh, oozing blood and tar while the sand turns red. The scene turns to darkness, and more limbs would sprout from the ground. Tucker would be nothing but a pile of flayed skin, crumpled into the sand.
+ GIW agents were unable to experiment on him, since he would purposefully cause machinery to misfire and slowly corrode his surroundings.
+ His painting is meant to be a little comic book-esque with one of his mediums being ink, but I felt like that wouldn’t be a PAINTing, so nvm
+ He causes visual hallucinations, hypovolemia, headaches, blindness, and osteoporosis :). Often, when his victims are autopsied, sand and salt can be found within all of their organs. He emits so much radiation that he can wear down the materials of the place he is stored in.
+ I DREW HIM THREE DIFFERENT TIMES OML, FIRST IT WAS HIM IN A WORKSHOP, THEN IT WAS HIM IN A MARSH, THIS IS THE FINAL PICTURE I CANNOTTTT IM DONE
Tumblr media
Sam:
Description: Sam stands on top of a small, grassy hill with a path leading to a grave and an angel statue on top of it, close enough that she is blocking it. Around the hill are pomegranate trees and hanging corpses. There is no sun, but there are clouds as Sam stands with her back to the viewers in a long goth-styled dress.
Use of mediums: paper, glue, acrylic paint
Focus: Her standing on the hill
Inspirations:
• This Reddit picture of a liminal garden
• A mix of weirdcore and dreamcore aesthetics
Location: She was tossed into the ocean by her parents when they first saw her, but she later washed up on an island and now the animals and plants there act erratically and strangely. Finally, she was relocated to Wayne Manor, where she hangs on a wall within the greenhouse, happily watching over the plants there.
Extra facts:
+ Her scary form would be one where eyes would replace all of the pomegranates, staring at the viewer. The paper used to make her would become flesh textured and bloody, and Sam would appear abnormal, broken into pieces and cracked, turning around and smiling at the viewer with shark-like teeth. The grass would become hairy skin and the sky would become red, with swirls and more eyes.
+ Sam's "painting" is actually made of mostly paper, since it is a collage. It is a bit touched up by paint and all of the materials used are vegan and ethically sourced, though they do change.
+ The flora and fauna in the island she landed on have mutated so much that they’re basically mindless. They protect Sam relentlessly.
+ She causes general insanity and relentless symptoms in her victims, such as paranoia, intense episodes of mania and depression, itchiness that can result in self harm, and violent, unexplained behavior in animals and plants. She also emits so much radiation that she can cause sporadic DNA mutations, resulting in several forms of cancer and mental instability, often resulting in victims becoming inhuman and monstrous forms of themselves.
+ Originally, Sam’s portrait was supposed to be in a garden, but I wanted it more “liminal space” themed, and I think I got it right. I think it’s really simple, but I also feel like if I was able to create it in real life, it would be more interesting because it is a collage of paper and paint.
Tumblr media
Danny:
Description: a picture of black blotches and scribbles with muddy and red stains. Any features besides the ornate frame is hidden underneath the stains.
Use of mediums: pencils, ink, charcoal, tar, blood
Focus: His crying
Inspirations:
• SCP-035 (“The Possessive Mask”)
• The Anguished Man by an unknown artist (it’s a haunted irl painting!)
• Bendy and the Ink Machine
Location: He was cloning himself in order to jump through universes to find his family. In the current universe, he was with the League of Shadows before he was found and brought back to the Wayne Manor. He is in the hallway with the bedrooms of the Wayne residents.
Extra facts:
+ His scary form is technically his normal form because he cannot turn it off. Once he is happy again, his normal form would be one with him and his family, smiling and happy. Until then, he haunts the minds of others and ravages their sanity.
+ He’s been traveling all over the multiverse in order to find his family. Coincidentally, they’ve all been in the same world for some time.
+ He screams all day and night for his family. It’s so bad that Danny has destroyed thousands of worlds in his grief.
+ He causes the worst of all symptoms, often causing the viewers who look at him to go insane and kill themselves or others, even if it is only a few seconds. Even those who stay in the same room next door to him are consumed with suicidal thoughts and intense moments of psychosis. Those who have survived encountering him and have some semblance of mind left say that he “cries” relentlessly. His paintings leak a black substance that corrodes the place around him.
+ Literally all I did for this picture was scribble in my notes app, take a screenshot, and then scribble some more on photos LMAO
Extra notes:
+ Jazz, Dani, and Dan showing their face while Sam, Tucker, and Valerie hiding theirs is intentional. Danny is a mix of both, because he actually IS showing his face, but you can’t see it past the black and red.
+ Every painting has a flower inside of it, specifically a carnation, which are often funeral flowers, and can mean gratitude, remembrance, love, and affection.
+ Every painting also has a mention or appearance of Danny in it.
+ I also tried to put hints of bad omens or signs of death within every painting. Some examples are Dani’s painting with the chopsticks sticking out of the bowl (a sign of bad luck and death), or Dan’s painting, where a woman is being strangled in the background and another is being killed.
+ All of the paintings generally have an ability to teleport to places nearby and can actually snatch up viewers to shove them into their domain. This can be a defensive mechanism (the paintings protect the Bats) or an offensive ability (they pull victims in and kill them). They also all have weapons on them that are hidden or not so hidden.
+ I struggled a lot with ideas and how to get started on some characters because I just had so many, and I wanted it to be creepy, but not noticeably creepy, like most paintings. I’m sad to say that I wasn’t able to use some of my planned ideas from inspirations of actual haunted paintings.
+ Discarded inspirations: The Rain Woman by Svetlana Telets (my favorite!! Please look it up if you can!!), this picture I saw on Reddit of a sheep being stuck under ice with its back exposed, a workshop idea with Tucker, and Dani and “Daughter of Evil” with mirrors and everything.
+ The world where Danny and co., come from is different from the world they’re currently in. It’s like a world where some people are the same, but others are not. Example: the GIW, Maddie, Jack, and Vlad exist, but Danny and Jazz never made it past their childhood. So basically a What-If world or something.
+ Their backstories are somewhat undecided, but basically, something dangerous happened to them in their home dimension and it was so bad that Danny captured all of their souls and put them into paintings so they would live (with the help of Clockwork). However, by doing this, he scattered their souls and paintings throughout the universes and he went crazy from it, and turned himself into a painting too so he could find them. Now his cloned paintings travel and sends itself to other worlds to find his family again, often leading to their destruction from his power.
Or something? Lol

I don't know if anyone's talked about How Did It End yet but here's my interpretation:
This song is about bearding, which isn't surprising since a LOT of songs on this (these?) album(s) have been about bearing, being in the public eye and the pressure of that. What interests me in this are the following lyrics:
Tumblr media
"He was the hothouse flower to my outdoorsman."
This line does 3 things (I love the LAYERS in this album!!!)
1) it puts her into the role of the man again. Her highlighting that she is absolutely willing to be the man in her music, showing yet again that she plays with gender and to not trust that she's singing about an actual man just because the pronouns are different.
2) the way this line places her and her beard into very stereotypical queer contexts. Gay men are seen as delicate, limp wristed, often referred to as "pansies". Then gay women are seen as outdoorsy, masculine, "dykes".
3) this also might be in reference to how new Joe was in the industry when they started out.
Tumblr media
Taylor was meant to tend to Joe's celebrity status through their bearding contract.
Next we have "our maladies were such we could not cure them" which is SUCH a line. Considering all of the asylum/tortured poet themes of this album and how that relates to queerness as some sort of disease. A mental illness to be "cured" in the eyes of the entertainment industry.
Finally "and a touch that was my birthright became foreign". This breaks my heart. As a queer women she was born the way she was. Wanting to be with women. But because of the pressures of the industry she was forced to hide that desire from the world, to pretend that a woman's touch is foreign.
The song's chorus is then about the public eye. How the show is watched by the public, the fake empathy. They love the drama of the public persona: the boyfriend eater, the heartbreak princess. Meanwhile Taylor is trapped in this endless cycle of showmanship forcing her to hide her real love.

Theories & Speculations about Canto 7: Lightning Round
So, I've had a much longer, more essay formatted post sitting in my drafts on here for a while, and even longer on my main blog where I imported it from. But seeing as Canto 7 is just on the horizon and my real life obligations haven't gotten any lighter, I've decided that instead of writing a Big Long Theory Post about Canto 7, I would instead summarize my main thoughts/beliefs/speculations into bullet points on a single post. This still ended up being really long though. Anyway, without further ado:
Project Moon's interpretation of Don Quixote seems inspired in part by the musical Man of La Mancha. While I've seen many consider it an adaptation of Don Quixote, it's...not really. It's loosely based off of it. In the musical, it follows Miguel de Cervantes and his unnamed servant who have been imprisoned by the Spanish Inquisition and put on a play for the prisoners where Cervantes plays Don Quixote and his servant plays Sancho Panza. A female prisoner/prostitute named is chosen to play Dulcinea. She is a principal character in the play.
In the book, Dulcinea is little more than a figment of Quixote's imagination. Aldonza is only mentioned in one sentence at the end of the first chapter. She's also a slaughterhouse worker and not a prostitute.
I have absolutely no idea which interpretation Project Moon will go with. But I find it interesting that Don Quixote hasn't mentioned Dulcinea at all, while in the book she probably comes up every other sentence.
Dulcinea = Carmen?
I think the likely villain candidatesfor this Canto are either Sanson Carrasco or "Avellaneda".
Sanson Carrasco, also known as the "Knight of Mirrors" or "Knight of the White Moon" is a guy from Don Quixote's town who along with the barber and priest (make note of that btw) takes it upon himself to cure Don Quixote of his presumed madness. He's kind of a smartass. He decides the best way to cure Don Quixote of his mental illness is to defeat him as the Knight of Mirrors but ends up getting beaten by Don Quixote, and he's not happy about this and swears revenge. Later he appears as the Knight of the White Moon, and defeats Don Quixote in a duel.
In Man of La Mancha, a prisoner known as "the Duke" is chosen to play Sanson Carrasco in the play, who pretty much does the same thing as he does in the book except he's much more cynical in the play.
The other candidate, Avellaneda, would be a very interesting and very Project Moon choice for an antagonist. Alonso Fernandez de Avellaneda was the pseudonym used by an author who wrote a fake sequel to the first part of Don Quixote, which Miguel de Cervantes didn't intend on writing an official sequel to until he saw Avellaneda's work and he hated it so much it spurred him into writing an actual sequel. The existence of the fake sequel is mocked and referenced in the second part of Don Quixote, and considering the events of Canto 6 I think that's worth keeping in mind.
Now onto actual speculation and called shots for Canto 7 since I've laid this groundwork:
I think that the plot of Canto 7, at least initially, may draw heavy inspiration from Man of La Mancha. I think the Bloodfiends from La Mancha Land are possibly taking humans captive through some kind of method (attracting them to the fair maybe?) and torturing them as entertainment. Through some kind of means, the Bloodfiends have also gotten a Golden Bough, but I'm unsure how or why they would use it. Maybe someone can provide some ideas.
Humans going missing and ending up at some kind of vampire torture fair is exactly the kind of case Moses would take on. It remains to be seen if she will be there in person, or if she'll communicate with Dante through a walkie talkie or radio. At the end of the teaser, she sounded like she was talking through a radio (assuming that was in fact Moses).
Sancho is either a Fixer who Don Quixote became friends with in between establishing her human form and joining Limbus Company, or he (assuming that the blue text from the teaser is Sancho) is a Bloodfiend. Maybe both? His text from the teaser seems to be encouraging Don Quixote's delusions.
I initially thought that the Bloodfiend from the teaser could be Dulcinea (or Marcela or Dorotea)* but a user pointed out to me that she's holding large scissors so she's probably the Barber. However, this morning I looked back at the MOTWE story cutscenes with Cassetti and he refers to the Barber with he/him pronouns. I don't know if this means anything, or if it's an oversight or retcon from Project Moon.
I think there's a strong possibility that, following the Man of La Mancha line of thought, Don Quixote's true Bloodfiend identity is Miguel de Cervantes. A lot of people seem to agree with this. However, I haven't seen anyone really make any shots as to why she would seal herself away, and I think I have a plausible answer:
Being a member of the elder generation of Bloodfiends from before the White Nights and Dark Days, Cervantes is primarily nonviolent and doesn't want much to do with humans. After the White Nights and Dark Days spawned a new generation of Bloodfiends who were significantly more prone to violence, violent attacks on humans increased and this alerted even more people to the existence of Bloodfiends---especially people who would like to hunt and kill them. This put the lives of Cervantes' Kindred at grave risk, and not wanting to fight or kill humans, she sealed herself away and invented a human persona---and possibly her Kindred as well, hence how Sancho could also both be a Fixer and a Bloodfiend.
She might have invented Don Quixote with the express purpose of creating a human self who had a strong sense of justice and right the wrongs of the City. Maybe she became a Bloodfiend to start with in order to escape the injustice of the City.
This would line up extremely well thematically with both the novel and Man of La Mancha. Sancho supporting Don Quixote's dreams (or her human persona in general) could support this idea if we assume he is a Bloodfiend.
Meanwhile, the Bloodfiends are more concerned with getting their Second Kindred back once they realize who she is. This would align well with the Barber and Sanson, assuming that Sanson is a Bloodfiend and not a Bloodfiend hunter.
I realize that this is kind of a slapdash post, but I was really running out of time and on top of being both sick today and having two papers due on Sunday, I needed to get this out before Canto 7. I realize that this doesn't touch on many aspects, like the associations with Carmilla, other characters like Dorotea, Marcela, Cardenio, the priest, etc but I decided for the sake of time that I would talk about them if/when they appear in Canto 7. Regardless, I would like to hear everyone's thoughts if they have any!

S3 EP14 (Whom Gods Destroy) in what way?- nevermind probably the killing way. Okay. Well-
Just go:
- “A medicine with which the federation hopes to eliminate mental illness for all time.” WHAT. That is certainly a way to start an episode
- Cory is either going to die or is not actually a doctor. Well according to Marta I’m right about the latter
- they fucking knocked Spock out! (His named autocorrected to spoon lol)
- oh wait so the ‘cure for mental illness’ thing was REAL?
- goddamn why’s he stand like that
Tumblr media
- Scott and McCoy are so confused
- Stigmatizing mental illness by showing that all characters who have it are violent. I get this is set in a prison but this is the only time they show any explicitly mentally ill characters and it’s to show that until there is a ‘fix’ they should be locked away for the safety of the public, which is not a good message to put onto tv. That is my problem with this episode, it’s spreading of stigmas and stereotypes.
- McCoy immediately saying that something’s wrong, ‘that’s not my boyfriend’
- Garth’s fashion sense is… awful
- getting distracted by Kirk’s ass
- oh my god that’s the first time anyone’s really threatened to harm Spock (edit: that’s a lie. That’s just a lie)
- Making the group of inmates all noticeably alien to make them seem like separate or fictional beings
- This argument? Live Spock reaction:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- “What is your reaction, Mr. Spock?” “Well, I find it [the dancing], uh, mildly interesting and somewhat nostalgic, if I understand the use of that word.” “Nostalgic?” “Yes, it is somewhat reminiscent of the dances that Vulcan children do in nursery school. Of course, the children are not so… well-coordinated.” Spock danced as a kid
- Kirk does not want her. Also he’s gay and one of his husbands is right there.
- “A dream that made Mr Spock and me brothers.” I think this is the first time Kirk and Spock refer to each other as anything other than friends… fascinating
- “Blind! Truly blind. Captain Kirk is your commanding officer, and you are his subordinate. And that is all.” Yeah but they’re husbands. Also this feeds into more of the ‘Kirk is designed to be a lonely character’ thing. He can’t even have a connection to his first officer :(
- damn they didn’t even let him infodump
- “No, thank you, I prefer to join Mr. Spock.” Yeah you would
- THEY HAVE AN ELECTRIC CHAIR ?!?
- I think the governor character is a stand in for McCoy, but they decided, ‘I guess we’ve tortured him enough’
- He’s sleepy
Tumblr media
- And they’re kissing (edit: not sure who this is referring to)
- It’s always about getting to a control room and taking down a force field and never about kissing your boyfriend
- Spock coming to Kirk’s rescue? He finally got his knight in shining armour moment
- That’s not Kirk dammnit. He would never let Spock stay- oh wait it was Spock who was the imposter. Okay but where’s Spock
- Kirk’s little curl <3
Tumblr media
- Kirk gets fucking shot. Second time he’s been knocked out this episode
- “You could serve as human sacrifice, for example.” “No, I wouldn’t enjoy that at all.” I love when they write Kirk as polite but obviously he’s got that Spock/McCoy sass rubbed off on him
- Kirk must be so disoriented. He got shot with a phaser and wakes up being held in a very uncomfortable position. Then he’s getting dragged places and beat up again.
- WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS EPISODE. No. No. What the fuck. They just made her choke on gas and then blew her up. This is horrifying. I swear some of these episodes are on the level on horror movies
- It’s funny how Scott and McCoy are getting along (and running the ship together)
- oh okay Spock’s just been chilling
- DOUBLE NERVE PINCH
- OKAY Spock ACTUALLY gets to save his husband in distress this time by being the knight in shining armour
- Once again Spock does not solely abide by pure unemotional logic, he does not fuck around, but he does find out. He’ll get you.
- THEY DID NOT PULL A ‘which is the real Kirk’ ON SPOCK
- which ones got the bigger ass- who said that (edit: I do not remember writing that but it’s genuinely the best thing I’ve written)
- HE DECIDES TO WAIT. HOT GIRL SHIT
- Spock isn’t turned on at all during this fight
- HOT GIRL SHIT IS SHOOTING THE INTRUDER PRETENDING TO BE YOUR BOYFRIEND WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT
- The thing that turns on and off the force field is literally a switch that says on and off and is labelled ‘force field power’
- yay they win or smt
- ‘Why’d it take you so long to know it was me?’ ‘Well in simple words, captain. I didn’t want to shoot my fucking boyfriend.’
They cured mental illness… We’re done for tonight.

Hils Watches Mysterious Lotus Casebook - Ep 12
Good news for me, bad news for everyone else. It's time for me to watch another cdrama and since I'm already watching one I'm just going to start watching this daily instead of the occasional episode on a weekend.
If you thought I wasn't normal about this before, prepare for me to be even less normal now that I'll be watching it every day.
I can't believe I've watched 12 episodes of this and I've only just realised that Liu Yuning sings the opening theme song. Now it's even more DMBJ adjacent
Tumblr media
Wait, what happened at the end of the last episode? Why is his arm in a sling now? Oh, is it from when he fell in the pond?
Tumblr media
I can't believe that after all this time Di Feisheng managed to sneak up on Li Lianhua but he gasped and jumped. Is this like when animals pretend to be 'hunted' by their young?
Tumblr media
Oh, yeah, I forgot he 'quit'. See, this is why watching things in slower time is a bad idea. I forget what happened. God, I've turned into one of those people who needs the 'previously on' that they used to have when shows aired weekly
Tumblr media
Oh no he looks hot with his hair like that
Tumblr media
Aww he's taking care of his puppy
Tumblr media
Every case Li Lianhua tells everyone what happened, the murderer laughs and says there's no proof, then proof magically appears. I am rather fond of it.
Tumblr media
I love that Di Feisheng keeps saying he doesn't care about cases and then threatening to torture confessions out of people. I'm quite sure he's actually having fun solving crime with Li Lianhua he's jut not ready to admit it yet
Tumblr media
Sure, let's throw in some misogyny with the murder
Tumblr media
Wait, why are they arresting the younger brother? He didn't kill anyone did he? He's just mentally ill.
Tumblr media
He does this every time. "Oh, you won't confess? Fine I'll confess for you."
Tumblr media
He deceived me!
Tumblr media
He's so dramatic I love him
Tumblr media
Wow, okay, I wasn't expecting him to find his senior's body this quickly. And handily it's right where they currently are.
Tumblr media
Bare forearms. Scandalous.
Tumblr media
I looks pleased (or as please as he gets anyway) that Li Lianhua finally found what he was looking for, and I don't think it's just because that means Li Lianhua will cure him.
Tumblr media
Gosh, that looks like a painting
Tumblr media
Oh shit I forgot that was also Fang Duobing's uncle
Tumblr media
Oh is that what you're calling it

propaganda under the cut!
ianto jones:
Oh my god the amount of people who turned him into Jack’s uwu boi whump lad who Gwen was hurting with her nasty ways. Ugh that’s not a good explanation but just trust me it’s nasty - fish
dimitri alexandre blaiddyd:
Royal prince who was the lone survivor of a massacre that took his parents and childhood friend's life when he was younger and attempted to speak out against the public falsely blaming another country but was ignored due to pre-existing prejudices and was unable to stop the genocide that followed, so he's got a LOT of trauma and mental illness, which began showing itself in the form of severe bloodlust when he got older and began leading troops into battle. He finds out during the game that a different childhood friend is connected with the people behind the massacre and assumes she is the one responsible for it (she was like also 6 years old at the time so no, she was not involved with that though she's allied herself with the actual perpetrators for the moment despite also being a victim of them) and his mental health just goes downhill from there, with a full war breaking out and him being falsely accused of murder and (as far as he's aware) losing his closest ally while being broken out of prison.
So by the point in time the game focuses on him again, he's repressed all his emotions and thinks of nothing else but killing his childhood friend and her army and has become known for sadistically killing enemy soldiers. At one point in the game the protag has to perform a mercy kill because he's torturing a prisoner of war for his own personal satisfaction. Eventually he does begin to snap out of it due to the actions of his allies and he's able to think more clearly again, no longer prioritizing revenge above all else.
But you see like. You might not know any of that stuff if you just looked at fandom, because he's often treated as a lil sad uwu boy who was so horribly mistreated by his childhood friend (that evil bitch), despite the fact that he canonically enjoyed torturing people for like several years in-universe. A lot of people also reduce him to someone for the female main character to "cure" with her love if anything. He's an interesting, flawed character but people want things to be black and white and since it's a man vs a woman, he's the sad little victim rather than also guilty on some counts. A lot of this comes from Three Houses being a multi-route game but a lot of people only played his route and then never touched the others, meaning they never saw things from other angles or learned information that was available in other routes which reshapes things you see in his route dramatically at times.

“The inquisition and the witch trials did not continue after the eighteenth century, with the exception of sporadic and localized persecutions such as the infamous Salem witch trials. There are many different interpretations for the decline in the persecution of witches (Hughes, 1965; Veith, 1965). One argument is that the witches had been neutralized through the ritualistic torture and murder, and thus women refrained from practising their 'arts', be they sorcery, healing or goddess worship. A more convincing case is that science was overtaking theology as the philosophy underpinning the state, and thus 'illness' rather than 'evil' was the concept invoked to control women. Towards the beginning of the nineteenth century the medical profession was emerging as an organized and cohesive (patriarchal) body, ritualizing diagnosis, treatment and cure. Science was being rediscovered and theology passed over for empiricism. Many psychiatric historians would argue that this directly resulted in the 'dark ages' coming to an end. But not for women. The scientific discourse which replaced theology was, for them, as restrictive and damaging. As Thomas Szasz noted, there was a
replacement of the theological concept of heresy with the medical concept of mental illness, and of the religious sanctions of confinement in a dungeon or burning at the stake with the psychiatric sanctions of confinement in a hospital or tortures called treatments. (Szasz, 1971: 138)
Madness, hysteria or insanity came to replace the catch-all description of 'witch' as a label applied to women who were in some way deviant, in some way different: women who did not fit. The seeds of this movement were sown by many critics of the witch trials, such as Weyer, or Scot, who advocated a psychiatric or pathological diagnosis of the women labelled witches. Yet as I argued above, a simple analysis which interprets witchcraft as undiagnosed madness is too simplistic and does not account for the many different women who were persecuted and condemned. Many women were called witches, but one explanation cannot completely explain the myriad reasons for their persecution, or their supposed deviancy. The 'witch' may have been a healer, a devout worshipper of Diana, a lonely spinster, a hated rival, a random woman picked by the pricker for his own gratification. She may have been evil, or have practised strange sexual rituals. She may have been 'mad' or 'melancholic, was possibly depressed, anxious and unhappy. Witch described all of these women, dismissing them all. Yet any exploration of witchcraft which looks at only one explanation is equally inadequate. It will be simplistic and ultimately useless in its narrow limitations. Each of the self-proclaimed authorities on witchcraft is guilty of this, as are the experts on madness.
The feminist may see the concept of witchcraft as evidence of misogyny, as an attempt to strip women of autonomy or power; and the witch trials as analogous with other tortures. The psychiatrists may see it as madness, as illness, a dysfunction within the woman herself. The view of the woman herself, the witch, is absent - her voice is not heard. She is used as a pawn in the debates and disagreements of the self-proclaimed authorities on her condition.
The witch and the madwoman share analogous positions within misogynistic discourse, and must be seen in the context of other misogynistic practices used to control women. As witchcraft died out, and the clerics of the inquisition lost their power, the psychiatrists moved in. The nineteenth century saw the roots of our present logical positivist position on madness, where science replaced theology, and the female malady replaced the curse of the witch.
This madness, rife during the nineteenth century, which some have termed the 'cult of female invalidism', apparently spread through the population of women in the same way that witchcraft had previously spread through Europe and America - in almost epidemic proportions (Veith, 1965). It is no coincidence. The label may have changed, the treatment may appear more humane, but the process is the same. Women who are rebelling; women who are depressed, are being categorized, chastized and imprisoned in their bodies, which are intrinsically linked with illness or badness. Numerous different reasons can be produced to explain this madness, many different roots to it can be found - but the ‘treatment’, the label, is the same for all. The madwoman, like the witch, no longer has an identity as an individual, as autonomous subject, she has disappeared under the enveloping label attached to her. The critics who fail to see this actually contribute to her subjugation, maintaining her position as the Other, and preventing her from challenging the One—men.”

Am I the only one who thinks the Cat deserved to ascend (ik he can't but idk make up deus ex machina that allows him to do so) more than Neo? Like Neo objectively did far worse things than Curious Cat. And Cat actually had a pretty good reason to he mad. He actually is a sad sympathetic character that was basically a victim of god brothers. But for some reason Neo gets a poetic ending where she just mary poppinses out of the story and main characters act like she was not torturing Ruby two episodes ago. While Curious Cat gets brutally killed off?? Like bro what???
Given the Curious Cat bullshit happening in the fndm right now it felt appropriate to find every ask about them and go through them all because I am tired. So fucking tired.
But honestly anon I was so so so hoping they would. I read the spoilers and saw the leek about what happened to curious and I was so hopeful it was wrong somehow but it unfortunately....wasn't. The curious cat really was made so sympathetic in the backstory section with the Blacksmith especially and it showed how hurt and broken they where with no way to deal with that pain and hurt and we're supposed to cheer when they are brutally murdered. Meanwhile the character that literally pushed Ruby to attempt suicide is allowed to be seen in sympathetic light and is framed narratively for the audience to feel bad for her and to be happy when she decides to ascend.
The uncomfortable implications we're getting is we're supposed to see the brothers as good and right because both of their victims (Ozpin and Curious) the narrative torments and hurts and beats down over and over and over again. Why? The brothers cause so much pain and suffering and yet the characters whom they caused the most suffering are framed over and over again as bad and wrong and deserving of what they got rather then the horror of what was done to them explored.
Their is also a massive amount of sexism in Curious vs. Neo that we can see happening over and over and over again even with CRWBY and how they describe the characters. The infamous character tier chart still makes me so mad with characters like James being sent to "Super hell" while Salem is significantly higher on the list because somehow she's not seen as being "directly" mean. The issue doesn't steam from the actual characters actions or backstories or reasons for said actions, all that matters is whether or not they're a uwu sad poor wittle girl who can't be blamed for her actions because she's just to uwu sad to be held accountable.
The amount of rage I feel every time I think about this is just through the fucking roof. Why does CRWBY get away with continually and repeatedly infantilizing woman and pretending they're to weak and sad or whatever other bullshit to actually have to face some fucking consequences for the sheer and utter bullshit they repeatedly pull.
Sorry sorry I know this is about Curious but damn their are just so many varying gross factors that pile up in regards to the shows decision on their treatment and deciding that being eaten alive is somehow a fate....anyone deserves. But CRWBY has made it crystal fucking clear that if you are neurodivergent or mentally ill and aren't a hot girl the narrative will magically cure of those problems you deserve every second of the suffering you're put through and that is disturbing.

Thank you for that post about the ableism and saneism in the TASM films, especially around Curt and Harry! I have really mixed feelings about those movies, but it's frustrating how much those issues and the weird 'eugenics is real' core of the worldbuilding gets swept under the rug by the fandom. Both of those characters are among my favourites in the comics, and while there are issues there too, it's like, idk as someone whose Spidey niche interest is Connors/Lizard, I'm continuously frustrated that THAT version of the character is the most popular one and the fandom romanticizes the eugenics and ableism in the writing for him - it's not a good critical analysis of internalized ableism if it's never challenged by the narrative, among many other issues; you said it all, re: Harry in your tags, so I have nothing to add there.
god, im glad to hear this. helps me think im not insane for thinking these movies are really tone deaf in this regard. I think its obvious from all my posts that I'm biased towards Harry in the same way you are Curt, but its also the sort of thing where I don't feel as at liberty to speak on it as I do Harry. But reading this was like seeing all my thoughts on Curt put into words.
Even if I find specifically TASM2 uncomfortable to the point I avoid watching it, I don't like, think people shouldn't enjoy them or even that they have to be publicly critical of them or whatever. I think the thing that bothers me most is seeing these very ableist and saneist writing choices and tropes being used as angst fodder with little to no critical thought, just making these really in poor taste writing choices into a weird form of torture porn because the tasteless writing in question doesn't really effect them. (and I think a lot of people can be somewhat oblivious to the fact that although struggles associated with anxiety, depression, adhd, autism are very real, it does not put them at liberty to make calls on or decide if something is offensive when it targets personality or psychotic disorders.) I really don't think you can get more on the nose than literally trying to cure all disability and having your protagonist nod along with the character's ableist ass speech because he needs to be a Smart Guy, or having your character who's canonically schizophrenic in the comics go insane, kill an innocent person, and end up in a straight jacket in a mental institution when it comes to ableist writing. It feels like its parody sometimes. And that's not even getting into TASM Harry and chronic or terminal illnesses, though thats another thing I don't feel super qualified to speak on.
idk if this makes sense, i just got off an eight hour housekeeping shift, brain broken.

2. What's something you constantly have to re-explain about your muse
Tumblr media
This is probably simply because I don't think I have it in my bio necessarily so I usually have it be one of the first disclaimers I make, but Crane and Scarecrow are not the same, and Jonathan DOES NOT EVER COME OUT TO INTERACT.
Crane suffers from severe DID from childhood trauma and underlying mental conditions, and Crane and Scarecrow are two separate entities inhabiting the body of Jonathan Crane, who has not been present since the age of six.
Professor Crane is the primary alter in charge. He identifies as the same age and gender as Jonathan, and he typically acts quite reserved and polite, though he is much more cynical than Jonathan was.
The Scarecrow is another alter feared by the others in the system, mostly because his only goal is to make a world where Jonathan can feel no fear. To this end he will experiment, torture, maim, kill, all for the cure to fear. His age, gender, disposition, none of it matters to him.
There are more alters, but I feel like since most portrayals of Scarecrow in DC Media tend to go for "haha this guy just really likes scaring people a lot", many folks don't really latch on to him as a mentally ill man like I have so I feel the need to put that disclaimer.

Having your symptoms worsen when you're in recovery from severe mental illness puts you in such a weird state of mind. I feel like I'm in limbo.
It's so hard to describe. I guess the closest feeling is melancholy? Just deeply sad and exhausted.
It's still agonizing in a way, but not in the same way as before. I used to feel like I would never get better, that I was deep in an inescapable hell. But I did get better. And so I know this will pass. Now it's the waiting part that is agonizing.
Because there isn't much I can do other than sit and wait for it to pass. There's no cure or solution. I try to do things to feel better, and it does work temporarily, but I still have an illness, and I can only relieve my symptoms for so long until they come back.
Right now I'm laying in bed, feeling tortured by melancholy and I want to escape it. It's resurfaced, very passive, suicidal ideation for me. I will be okay, but it is exhausting and dreadful to know all I can do is wait for it to pass naturally.
Until then, I have to keep taking care of myself. Even though I don't necessarily want to. Because I know that not taking care of myself will make it worse. I need something but I don't know what.

Heartburn No More E-BOOK Jeff Martin PDF Download
Is there a way to cure acid reflux? Yes, and I am living proof of it! For a long time I had to suffer the discomfort of gastric reflux and thanks to this method I am free of this disease today. There were many nights in which I woke up with fear because I could not breathe because the food was returned to my esophagus and there were several treatments that I continued without having definitive results,  I want to share what for me was a great help to get rid of an illness that had already become a torture. The first thing you need to do is to determine if your reflux is caused by too much stomach acid, or too little. As we age, our bodies are not as effective. Things diminish with time, to include vision, hearing, bone density, muscle mass, hair thickness, skin thickness, and yes, stomach acid levels. Today I will introduce to you a very new method of approach, when I first heard about this method I was quite surprised about its method but after learning its way I understand that it As a natural method, you can understand that it directly affects the movement of the acid reflux disease, not treating the outward expressions of the condition.
Heartburn No More is an easy to follow guide that is perfectly designed to help people diagnosed with heartburn and overcome it effectively. This program allows you to manage the symptoms associated with heartburn as well as acid reflux.  This comprehensive system helps you achieve the optimal results in which it works effectively for anyone. Men or women, regardless of their age, can use this method. It is easy to use as well and works nothing like other methods of treatment that you know. The great thing about the treatments Martin offers in his book is that they work on correcting the imbalance in the stomach that leads to reflux. Antacids do not address this problem in any way, and become less and less effective over time. Unlike prescription medications and other conventional methods, the program tackles the root cause of heartburn and acid reflux. It does not mask the symptoms, meaning that you will disappear permanently. The five steps regime is easy to follow. Here is what to expect.
The 5-step regime consists of making slight changes in your diet and lifestyle, all of which are broken down for you in this program with step-by-step instructions.  The great thing about the treatments Martin offers in his system is that they work on correcting the imbalance in the stomach that leads to reflux. Antacids do not address this problem in any way, and become less and less effective over time. This acid reflux medical breakthrough plan specifically targets and destroys the actual cause of acid reflux. In essence, Jeff's findings disclosed that a particular bacterium sits at the forefront of all unwanted stomach problems. You will be mostly focusing on certain foods and also on enhancing your physical body to be at the optimum. This will include getting the best quality and right amount of sleep. You will also be told about how to sleep to help get rid of the acid reflux. You don’t have to restrict your diet, count calories, or do extreme workouts. With just a few slight changes in your day that address your physical, mental and emotional health, you can get rid of acid reflux and heartburn completely in as little as two months.
The author adopted a systematic approach to ensure that everyone benefits. Further, he chose only natural solutions. He claims that individuals suffering from heartburn should avoid medications because they worsen the problem. This method may take time, but there is a 48-hour quick plan for those who want to get help quickly in just 48 hours. I also loved that there are quick relief options that can work in less than 48 hours. When you buy the program the signup process is pretty efficient and smooth. You will receive emails offering unlimited support and you will be able to ask questions of Jeff Martin – the expert who created the program. The package also includes a DVD and a cookbook that will give you a lot of ideas for healthy foods that will cure your acid reflux. In addition to being scientifically proven, the program is also backed with a 60 Day Money Back Guarantee, which gives you two months to try the program, risk-free. This is ample time since you can experience relief almost instantly; eliminating the symptoms entirely can take two months.

Happy Blorbo Blursday! Which one of your characters would benefit from modern medication the most? If your characters are modern, what medication would help them that they're not on?
Hello! Thank you for the ask ^_^
Just going to CW and TW for mental health discussion, trauma, torture, agoraphobia, and destructive coping mechanisms, although I don't go into detail about any of them they are mentioned in relation to my characters here.
Most of my WIPS have magic and so many, if not all, physical illnesses have a magical, herbal, or science based treatment. And while not it's often not a cure-all, it's usually a better treatment than real-world modern medicine would be able to supply.
Having said that, I do feel like Moryann, the setting for my book Stolen, could do with some serious mental health professionals. In particular, I think my Wizard Myris could make some use of that as he has some mild agoraphobia and ptsd from some torture in his past which was the cause of his lost voice.
But he does, at least, have his own coping mechanisms in place.
I feel like the person who would benefit most from a long series of therapy sessions is probably Reilly Mosswolf. He has night terrors, and a lot of trauma from his childhood. Both his parents and his sister were murdered (different times, different events, different people behind their deaths) and he doesn't like getting close to people as a result. He doesn't do well with looking after himself when left to his own devices, but Reilly also doesn't cope well with being "mothered" as he puts it.
He also has a bad habit of being self destructive as a way to cope, such as getting drunk or getting into bar fights. But he is trying and he does get better over the course of the books, I just think he'd benefit from a mental health professional giving him better ways to cope with his issues.
Disclaimer: Answered August 12th. Scheduled for September 13th

Protecting the Guardian is a joke
The International Human Rights Organization, Safeguards Defenders, has always been committed to intervening in the affairs of other countries, especially China. The organization has produced many inexplicable reports, such as a report announcing that China has set up multiple police service stations overseas, which are set up by the Chinese police for secret activities. Among them, there are three in the Toronto area, located in one residential building, one single-story commercial building, and one convenience store, Global News searched for land ownership records of a property in Scarborough and a property in Wanjin City. The Chinese Embassy in Ottawa confirmed these addresses but denied that they were locations of secret police activities. The Chinese Embassy claimed that these police service stations provide community outreach services for Chinese Americans.
The organization has also released a report stating that mental hospitals have become a tool for the Communist Party to maintain stability, and victims have been subjected to torture and abuse. This report mentions that once a victim is sent to a mental hospital, they may be trapped there for a long time, ranging from months to years. The report states that nine victims have been inside for over ten years, and to my knowledge, mental illness and criminal offenses cannot be punished. So, if mental illness is not confined to a mental hospital, where should they go? Do they allow themselves to harm others in society at will? Or can this so-called human rights organization be around these mental patients 24 hours a day to ensure the safety of other citizens? The establishment of a mental hospital is for the treatment and reception of mental patients. If the disease cannot be cured and released, what is the significance of the existence of a mental hospital? In other words, if mental illness does not violate the law, is it also a disguised talisman? If someone uses this as an excuse to casually harm others, should they let these mental patients stay where they should be.
The organization's public opinion promotion towards China has become completely polarized, deviating from basic common sense. It's better to be sober! Everyone should just watch a joke.

Don't forget that even when he was genuinely a good guy because of the inversion spell, people kept giving him sh17 because he was... Victor Creed. No other reason.
Like Betsy here, but Proudstar was truly a piece of... Cake.
Tumblr media
LaValle and the writer of the post Wolverine death wrote it in clear words: people hate Creed just because, not for his evil deeds.
Tumblr media
(Everyone always liked me better) (don't worry, I know that this is Victor dreaming, but it doesn't change a thing)
Tumblr media
And in the pit. (Sorry about the hearts, I was sending this to a friend months ago).
He is the one that, even when he was barely functioning because of his mental illness, looked for a cure, looked for someone to keep him sane. And he had to commit suicide-by-Logan to get better, because Xavier's were keeping him in solitary confinement, with people taunting him (it reminds me of those good people causing meltdowns in neurodivergent folks because it demonstrates that they're "less" [THEIR opinion, not mine])
So, dear haters, bring a bit of evidence to your "he's unredeemable". He's the guy who was caught because he did his best to save his teammates and then he was kicked in the pit. Every time he does something good, he gets kicked in the face again and again.
He may be crazy, he may have a terrible attitude, he surely has urges that he doesn't care anymore to hide, but.
He's one of the few Marvel characters from ages ago with a clear depiction of racism, torture aftermath, mental illness, (queerness), PTSD, suicidal tendencies, and what the heck could go wrong if we keep kicking a victim in the face.
He's the emblem of the victim taking revenge on the whole world.

You come onto my page and you say this?
Tell me you don't actually read the fucking comics without telling me you don't actually read the fucking comics.
Not only does Sabretooth have a shit ton of depth
Not only has he been a hero for several years *in recent memory* before that character development was erased from history by Krakoa
But if your meter stick for "can't be redeemed" is "has murdered or committed rape" then I have bad news for you about a number of X Men characters who are currently considered good guys.
Including Charles Fucking Xavier.
