no I fucking did not like. she was doing interviews like no I don't have another album in me just yet, I'm so tired, I thought new album would take a few years??

like obviously it's been nearly 2 years since evermore but there's the rerecordings. and also I think I've been spoilt by the folklore/evermore release schedule because I feel...empty that we don't have the tracklist or like we're not getting the whole album + mv immediately after the announcement 😅

it looks so good though! I first saw her red carpet look waking up mid sleep to check something and I thought oh so rep? and then I woke up and my friend was screaming about the new album

the aesthetic looks so gooooood. I might invest in a good eyeshadow palette so I can make her blue eyeshadow look my personality for a bit✨

thank you, my area is safe but the country as a whole. all the provinces are effected, so many lives and livelihoods destroyed...it's really bad out there. and videos and constant updates are..emotionally taxing but if you put it in the back of your mind, you just get busy with your life and you forget those people who will need months until they can even begin to start rebuilding there lives.

and of course crops were effected so prices of some stuff are already high and they'll only get higher. and we already have shitty price hikes due to a recent change in government after some political turmoil. but thank God for private non-profits who actually help the people instead of looting donations

sorry this is. a lot. I just wish there was more I could do besides donating. hopefully volunteer activities will crop up after the initial situation has been stabilized so I can do something that isn't limited by my finances

I didn't have the slightest inkling what this could be about and like a perfectly normal person, I wondered, why does essie think I'm in the land of the dead? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

as for claiming tracks, not to be (more) dramatic, I don't what's going on, idk who I AM? because like I cannot decide a track to claim. like this has never happened in any of the album releases I've been through so far. but like. lavender haze, maroon or midnight rain. like I think I want something s o f t. and side A sounds softer but I feel like the titles are going to be very misleading regarding the vibe? I am CERTAIN that whatever song I claim will not be my favorite. only two more sleeps till we know🕛⏳

Do I have other wips besides NFL Buck? Yes. But lately I have been on an writing roll with this fic and I love all the anticipation there is for it. So, here is a mood board (collage?) and short snippet for inspiration Saturday. It is a continuation of Buck's perspective of draft night from yesterday. (Go here for all things NFL Buck)

"Ali is the sneakiest bitch." Buck mumbles in his boyfriend's shoulder and it shakes with his amusement, "She's also becoming my favorite person in the world." Eddie unburied his face from Buck's hair and dragged the tip of his nose down to press into the younger man's temple, "I agree with the sneakiness. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell she was able to get me in the theater to see you be drafted on such short notice. Also, either Ali is the nicest, most compelling agent or just downright frightening because that woman got the hotel staff to break their privacy policy and give me a key to your room over the fucking phone." Buck lets out a barking laugh and squeezed Eddie even tighter, "I've learned to never question her methods and just enjoy the end results." He pulled his face from the paramedic's shoulder and put a scant few inches between them so he could look into those soft tawny eyes he'd had hoped to see this day. God they were so much better than his imagination, wide and sparkling with pride and elation. "I am enjoying this result so fucking much." Eddie's warm calloused hand gently clamped the back of Buck's neck and closed the short distance put between them. Plush, warm lips pressed eagerly into Buck's and pushed away the last of his disheartened emotions from the draft. Almost everything he'd been wanting that evening, came to fruition, just not in the way he expected. But it was okay. Buck was kissing a man who he never even hoped of finding, yet here was Eddie, wanting him, loving him just as much as Buck does. The unexpected, helped him achieve his NFL dreams and so much more. So it was okay that Christopher wasn't present. Buck would see his best friend in a few short days and throw a just as grand celebration with him. (As for Maddie, soon the rookie quarterback will have the means and connections to help her.) It was okay that a part of himself had to be kept hidden, it wouldn't be forever. Eddie supported and understood staying a secret because he truly loved Buck and wanted him to achieve his dreams. It was okay and the ache in Buck's chest loosened. He still wants so much, but Buck understands he can't have it all at once. For the time being, he can embrace what he already has and that especially applied to his surprise guest. Eddie's kiss deepened and the fingers on his free hand traced the top button on the Texan's draft pick's dress shirt. Buck's own hands released their tight grip on Eddie's forearms and slid down to his hips. Buck breaks the kiss, just a for a quick second to whisper, "I want you." "You have me." Eddie replies breathlessly before giving Buck a devilish smirk, "But you can have me however you want." And Buck is definitely okay with that.

I know we all want things to be more than okay for Buck and Eddie. And maybe it will be. Or maybe, just maybe I really put these the boys through the ringer a few times... Wouldn't be a 911 fic if I didn't. Lol. But I do hope you all enjoyed!!!!!

I’m not surprised to see they are acting out in the tags again. They are having a bad week 😂💀

first everyone, the official accounts included started blocking them and their fake accounts so no more spam comments. Then the deleted scene dropped which showed Tommy in yet again a bad light. Today they were literally gloating how Lou would be being named a main character at the TCA panel and not only was he not, the only article to come out about the new season listed all the normal mains coming back, Gavin included. Again with no Lou in sight. Only to then also have a tvline article drop using a buddie still from the finale as its thumbnail. And then another organization reshared an old article they made during the season 4/5 era of 911, listing tvs 13 most undeniable chemistry partners with buddie used in the photo header and on the list, but also the list being comprised of most of the greatest tv history partners to romantic partners there are.

Not to mention on the season 8 teaser announcement video, it’s just nothing but a sea or positive buddie love, and buddie love asking for Ravi main etc, so they few bt comments are just absolutely being drowned out because ultimately, there is no competition or comparison to the fandom numbers and who’s gonna come out on top in it every time 😂😂😂

i’d feel bad but… they’ve been nothing but hateful and spiteful towards us for just loving our ship so i have no qualms about being a little mean in return lol and with the bs they were spouting against chris and eddie while s7 was airing i find myself inclined to gloat over gavin confirmed alongside the usual mains (the kid can act, he deserves it!). basically, if they want to support a racist (and be racist themselves) they can live with the consequences

however, i think it’d be best if we follow the trend of having a “sea of positive buddie love” for our own sake and block the instigators who are clearly just lashing out

1. How many works do you have an AO3? 92

2. What's your total AO3 word count? 678,345 but that includes a bunch of collabs and co-written fics so not all of those words are mine. I never tracked my actual word count, but at a guess I'd say at least 150,000 of those words aren't my own

3. What fandoms do you write for? Red, White & Royal Blue, 911 Lone Star and, theoretically, Schitt's Creek although it's been a very long time since I've written any SC fic.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? all of them? idk they all have happy endings, maybe What, like it's hard? (obligatory A/N to say do not read that fic if you haven't read to the victor, the spoils first, please.)

Oh actually! Lil bit of railmedaddy lore: when I first started writing SC fic and chose my ao3 name (which was inspired by Dan Levy's appearance on SNL), it was meant to be a joke because railmedaddy was never ever going to write smut, didn't think she'd be capable of ever doing that, actually. That lasted all of ... maybe 6 months.

10. Do you write crossovers? The closest I've ever come is this snippet in response to an ask about how and where David, Patrick, Alex, Henry, Carlos and TK might meet.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I know of, I hope not!

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yes! Make the Yuletide Gay (Tarlos) was translated into simplified Chinese. I was honoured that anyone would want to go to the trouble of doing that!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? yes, with @welcometololaland my beloved 💖 and I love doing it because it's so much fun

16. What are your writing strengths? Someone tell me, please. Thinking about comments on my fics and the things that I actually like writing (I think my writing is better when I'm really enjoying it), it's probably banter and smut with feelings.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? World building, pretty metaphors and similes. I think my writing is repetitive so don't look too closely, especially if you read my fics in more than one fandom.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic? If it's in character, then why not? The times I have included substantial Spanish dialogue, I have a native Spanish speaker look over it and help with translations because I don't want to rely on google translate.

The collabs with Lola I linked ^^, The Grindr Toolbox: A Guide to Getting Nailed series is something that I had so much fun with and I'm very proud of, who am i if i can't carry it all aka June fic which I poured my heart and soul into, I don't think there's any other fic I've written that has so much of myself in it, this year i will fall which is my RWRB Hallmark Christmas fic.

Hii!! so 2024 is right around the corner, happy new year yayay. Actually, if I think too much about it I think I'll start crying cause like what do you mean we're less than 42 hours from staring a new year?!! 2023 doesn't feel real tbh time in general doesn't feel real but yeah anyways I'll save that convo for another time. I'm here today to reflect on all the gifsets I've made throughout this year, which let me add, has been A LOT. I'm going to start by sharing some fun stats (yes renee I'm copying you <33), and then I'll do a fun top 5 of my fave gifsets, and to finish it off I'd also like to use this to shout out some of my fave people and creators on this hellsite cause you all made my 2023 so much better and I love you all for that <333

that one dnp gifset: I think most people know that I was and still am a big dan and phil fan, and that I spent most of my teenage years obsessing over them and giffing them and only them. Well, they went on hiatus and they stopped having a big impact on my life util they decided to come back and ruin my life again (in a good way). This gifset was the first time I giffed them since like idk 2019/2020, and it does mean a lot to me :') it's not really about the concept and the coloring, I chose this one to be apart of my top 5 for sentimental reasons, and I think that's valid.

give your friendships the magic you would give a romance: once again, sentimental reasons. when I read this quote on loveless it just spoke to me in so many levels. One of the things I love the most about heartstopper is the importance they give to friendship and I just had to make something that highlighted that and I think it turned out super good.

I think nellie loves him: well, now I think I snapped with this one akdhjahak I just love it so much. the coloring.. the heartstopper tv scenes with the heartstopper comic scenes, like chef's kiss, just perfect. of course this is not an original idea so I'd love to thank @rose-nobles for inspiring this gifset <33

mr. ajayi loves museum dates with his grumpy bf: and just like that we are back to sentimental reasons ahdhkas. well, this was one of the first gifsets I made when season two came out and it blew up. I've never had that many notes on a gifset, and honestly I think it's well deserved cause the coloring is good and I had finally just figured out how to sharpen gifs, so yeah love that for me.

I'm bi actually: I had so much fun making this one. the amount of bi coded elements and colors I included on this, I WAS ON A MISSION. the fact I made the font wobbly hsjgdjaka, I love love this gifset.

2024 is just around the corner, so unbelievable to me. it feels like no time has passed since the beginning of 2023. i was thinking, hm it doesn’t feel like i’ve made many gifs this year, but then i went looking back at all my favorite gifsets i made and i was pleasantly surprised to see quite a significant amount. my goal for 2024 is to create more gifsets, to share with the fandom and most importantly to let the creativity flow. okay, but i’m here to reflect on my gifsets from this year, so let’s get into that shall we? i’ll share some fun statistics and then my top 5 gifsets from this year, and totally copying joana here but i’ll also give a shoutout to my favorite creators who not only inspire me but make this fandom wonderful with their creations <3

louis birthday gifset this has to be my favorite gifset i’ve made this year. i had so much fun making it, from trying a different color i’m not used to, to using new effects i hadn’t had the chance to try. everything came out as i had envisioned and it makes me so happy. i gotta say by the end of it i was tired. i think i spent a total of 10 hours on it, but it was so worth it

faith in the future anniversary gifset okay so this one was originally going to be blue and yellow, but the first gif (the one with the tv) wasn’t looking good, so i just did what i do best, make it purple and yellow. i’m glad i did, because not only do i love that combo, but i think it looks great. i had this vague concept of what i wanted to do. i knew i definitely wanted to include the spotify template. from there i just did what i felt in the moment. the edit with the tracklist was originally going to be in the form of a google search, but it looked so bad, so i just went for something more simple, which ended up looking so much better. the last edit was the second to last one. i was thinking, how can i include fitfwt into it? that’s when i realized i had a combination of one gifset, one edit, one gifset and one gifset, so i added one edit in the middle of the last two gifsets to create that pattern. i took my favorite louis picture from tour and just did a quick edit. with this one, less was better, and i’m very proud of how it came out

hlholidayexchange gifset i absolutely adore this one. the prompt was anything with 2014 larry. i had a very clear concept for this one. polaroids showing them together. while looking for videos i just gravitated towards their night changes performance, especially the prince and little one with the cheekbones, so that’s what i did. i was apprehensive about the blending, as it’s something i struggle with, but personally i think i did good. there’s always room for improvement, but i’m satisfied with it. the colors came to me right at the end, a combination of some of my favorite colors that are close together in the color wheel, so they look good together. it’s simple, but effective :)

louis tomlinson tinder this one was so fun to make. i especially loved coming up with hobbies and activities that describe louis. i knew i wanted to include numerology because this boy is obsessed with numbers and you can’t tell me he isn’t into numerology. as for the matches, i included his husband people who he’s potentially had a crush on based on interactions and interviews. i also love how the colors came out, i think it looks very pretty

harry’s house anniversary i love this one so much. i had a very clear concept of what i wanted to do. the cutout of the pictures plus the lyrics looked so much fun and i had a great time putting it together, and i just love the spotify template. i think everything about it is very pretty. the colors, the scenes, all of it. the only thing that makes me sad is how the video for daylight came out way later so i couldn’t include it, but other than that i love it so so much

Marty craned her neck as she looked up at Optimus. He was telling them of how their war came to Earth, and how they had been here for three years.

"And since you know of our existence," he said. "I fear that as of last night the Decepticons know of yours."

"Got it," said Jack. "we spot any strange vehicles, call 911." He pointed towards the drive out. "Can we go now?"

"Are you insane?" Miko snapped. "I'm living the dream here in Bots-wana and I will not allow you or anyone else to shatter it!"

"So, what do we do then?" Marty asked.

Optimius regarded her. "It is best that you four remain under our watch. At least until we can determine our enemies' intentions."

"Optimius," Ratchet's voice seemed to be a whisper, but it was still loud enough to hear clearly. "With all due respect, the human children are in as much danger here as anywhere!"

"Children?" Jack muttered.

"What's that?" Jack asked, worry filling his tone. Marty had never noticed how worrisome he was before.

Bumblebee buzzed in response.

"Proximity sensor," Raf translated. "Someone's up top."

Ratchet had turned to the computer screens. "It's Agent Fowler."

"I thought we were the only humans who knew about you guys," Marty asked. She wasn't jealous or worried. She simply wanted more information than she had.

Optimius turned to her. "Special Agent Fowler is our designated liason to the outside world, as he tends to visit only when there are issues. It may be best if you do not meet him at this time."

A four of the humans nodded and ran under the stairs, hiding against the wall. Marty could only see Bulkhead and Ratchet, the rest of the Autobots had disappeared out of her line of sight.

"Seven wrecks," said a man's voice above them. "thirty-four fender benders, a three hour traffic jam, and –on a particular note– numerous reports of a speeding motorcycle of unknown make and a black and yellow custom muscle car!"

Marty cringed, knowing Fowler was talking about Arcee and Bumblebee.

"So," Fowler continued. "anything you care to get off your tin chest, Prime?"

"We have the situation under control, Agent Fowler," Optimius said.

There was a pause before Fowler spoke again. "They're back, aren't they?"

"If you are referring to the Decepticons, I have doubts that they ever left," said the Autobot leader. "Your planet is much too valuable."

"Then it's time to wake up the Pentagon," Fowler decided.

Marty peeked out from behind Jack to see Optimus stare down Fowler. His glare was enough to make a grown man shrink, but not Fowler.

"Hear me, Agent Fowler. We are your best, possibly your only defense against the Deception threat."

"Says you," snapped back the Agent.

"Hey, fleshy!" Bulkhead said. Marty watched as he grabbed what looked like a tool. "Did anyone get splattered on that freeway? Team Prime knows when to use force, and how much to use," he crushed the tool in his hand with raw power.

"Bulkhead! I needed that!" Ratchet scolded.

"Enough!" Optimius ordered, ending the spat immediately. "Military involvement will only result in catastrophe," he must have turned back to Fowler. "Perhaps you can condone widespread human casualties, Agent Fowler. I, however, cannot."

Marty found herself surprised. Optimius cared more about human lives than most of Earth's leaders.

"Then do us both a favor and handle this, Prime," Fowler said. "Or I will."

As he left, Bulkhead walked over to Optimus. "Pretty big bearings for a human."

"Agent Fowler is concerned for his world, Bulkhead," Optimus said. "as he should be."

Marty looked up at him curiously. He was defending, or at least reasoning, Fowler's frustration. Maybe the Autobots weren't too different from them after all.

The four humans stood on one of the raised platforms, bringing them closer to the Autobots' level. A soft ping sounded from the computer, earning a grunt of frustration from Ratchet.

"Blasted Earth tech!" He said. "Cliffjumper's signal popped back online."

"Who's Cliffjumper?" Asked Miko.

"How is that possible?" Optimius asked.

"It isn't," Ratchet said. "Another bug. The system is chock full of them."

Arcee's pink rimmed eyes lit up. "If there's any chance Cliff's alive–"

"Ratchet," Optimus said, his voice commanding. "prepare sickbay. We may need it."

Ratchet nodded before pulling a lever, activating a portal-like swirl of green by the wall. Just as the Autobots were about to leave, Miko spoke up.

"Hey!" She said. "What can we do?"

For a single second, Optimus looked surprised, even with his battle mask on. But as soon as he blinked it was gone. "Remain with Ratchet."

"Aww," the pink haired girl moaned.

"Aww," Ratchet groaned softly.

They moved towards the portal. "Autobots, roll out!" Optimius ordered. All of them transformed into their vehicle modes before driving into the swirling green and disappearing.

Marty raised her brows in surprise when the portal disappeared. 

"What just happened?" Jack asked, clearly confused.

"I transported them to the designated coordinates via the ground bridge," Ratchet said.

"What's a 'ground bridge'?" Asked Raf.

Ratchet shook his head. "Ugh. A scaled down version of Space Bridge technology. Since we don't currently possess the means or the energon required for intergalactic travel..."

"You're stuck here," Marty finished. "On Earth."

"With the likes of you, yes," Ratchet said as he turned back to his screens. "But I constructed the Ground Bridge."

"Wow!" Raf breathed. "Does it work for humans?"

"Naturally."

"You mean I could just shoot on over and visit my parents in Tokyo?" Miko asked.

"Within moments," Ratchet confirmed. "In fact, allow me to send you there immediately, all four of you," he leaned down, glaring at Miko.

She narrowed her eyes and pointed her finger. "Watch it, Ratchet."

"Miko, let's not forget that he can, how did you put it?" Marty asked with a fake interested tone. "Squish us?" 

Ratchet rolled his cybernetic eyes, muttering something that sounded like "fleshlings".

The humans wandered around the base, Marty staying near Miko. She felt she needed to keep a close eye on her friend since she had a tendency to find trouble. Currently, the pink-haired girl was examining a type of machine. It's purpose was something Marty yet had to figure out.

"What is this anyway?" Miko asked.

"Broken, don't touch," Ratchet said without looking at her. She moved to touch another thing. "Don't touch that either."

"So, is there anything we can touch?" Jack asked.

Instead of answering, Ratchet just looked at one of the screens, which had a classic error message.

"How come you guys are using human computers?" Raf asked.

"It certainly isn't by choice," Ratchet said. "It was handed down from the previous tenants when we inherited this former missile silo. I make modifications as I see fit," Several more error pop ups littered the screen, earning a noise of frustration from Ratchet.

"I think I can fix that," Raf said, plugging his laptop into the monitors."

"Reeally?" Ratchet asked sarcastically. "You know this is complex technology, don't you? I mean, it isn't a child's toy."

Suddenly, the error messages disappeared. "Now try," Raf said with a small smile.

Ratchet looked between him and the screens in shock. Marty smirked. He shouldn't have underestimated Raf.

After about an hour, the humans were all on the platform when a comm from Optimus came in.

"Ratchet! Bridge us back! Use the arrival coordinates. Now!"

Ratchet did as he said, and the Autobots came rolling in with blue flames behind them. Ratchet closed the Ground Bridge before the explosion could reach the base. "Cutting it a bit close," he said as they transformed. "How about Cliffjumper?"

Miko leaned against the railing, her eyes wide. "What was that explosion? Was there a fight? Can we come with next time?"

Arcee narrowed her eyes. "Look–"

Jack grabbed Miko by the shoulders. "He-hey, Miko, let's go see what the bots hide in their sock drawers."

The girl rolled her eyes. "Seriously?"

Marty turned her attention to Arcee. She was obviously troubled, holding herself tightly and staring at the floor.

"Arcee," Optimus said. "what did you see?"

"Not Cliff," her voice was shakey. Whoever Cliffjumper was, he was obviously a close friend of hers. "At least, not any more. He was mutated. Butchered. Like something from those 'Con experiments during the war," she walked away and collapsed onto a crate.

Bumblebee buzzed worriedly and moved to help her, but she waved him off.

"No, I'm fine," she said as she picked herself up. "Just...dizzy."

"Robots you get dizzy?" Said Miko.

"Robots with emotions," Raf added.

"Robots who can die?" Asked Jack.

"Robots who grieve," Marty added solemnly.

Arcee sat on a crate as Ratchet came over with a scanner. "What is this?" He asked, pointing to a purple goo on her hand. It was smoking like acid.

"Don't know," Arcee said. "Cliff was covered in it. Leaking it."

Ratchet took a metal swab and swiped it off her hand. "Go take a decontamination bath. Now."

Arcee stood with Bumblebee's help and walked over to a cylindrical area where she stepped inside.

Jack glanced at his phone. "O-Optimus," he stuttered. "I-I hate to bug, but no bars." He held up his phone as an example.

"A security precaution," Optimius explained. "The silo walls isolate all radiowaves."

Jack put his phone back in his pocket. "Well, if I don't call my mom, like now, I'm pretty sure the cops will be out looking for me."

Optimius leaned down. "Have you broken a law?" He seemed to genuinely want to know.

"Yeah, curfew," Jack told him. "It's after 10 pm."

Raf winced and pulled out his phone. "I better get home too, or I'll be grounded for a year."

Optimius hummed in thought. "Earth customs. I hadn't considered. But the issue of your safety remains," he furrowed his metallic brow in thought. "Bulkhead, accompany Miko home."

"Awesome!" The pink-haired girl cheered. "My host parents will freak!"

"And maintain covert surveillance in vehicle form," the leader added.

Bulkhead nodded. "Curbside duty, got it."

Miko seemed to deflate upon learning she couldn't show a giant robot from space to her host parents. "Aww..."

"Bumblebee, you will watch over Raf." Optimius ordered. "Ratchet,"

"Busy!" He called from his science equipment.

Arcee was just coming out of the decontamination bath when Optimus turned to her. "Arcee. You'll accompany Jack."

The blue Autobot put a hand to her head. "Ooh, still dizzy."

"You're fine," Ratchet said without even looking at her. "Says your physician."

Arcee let out a sigh.

Optimius turned to Marty. "I will accompany Martha."

The brunette nodded, keeping a calm appearance despite the nervousness rising in her stomach. 

The Autobots transformed and the humans climbed inside. Marty became painfully aware of each breath she took as she realized she was inside a living thing.

Darkness painted the Nevada sky with specks of stars here and there. Marty stayed silent, staring out the window. She noticed that Optimus didn't try and start a conversation, which normally she would be content with. But too much had happened in a single day for Marty to stay quiet. She was about to do something rare for her; initiate an interaction.

"Hey, Optimus?" She said, a bit softly.

"Yes?" His deep voice resonated all around her. It was almost as if she could feel it.

"Can I ask you something?"

There was a short pause. "You may."

Marty looked out the window at the passing desert. "Earlier, when you said you wouldn't risk human lives, why?"

Another pause, and Marty was afraid she had said something wrong.

"I am afraid I do not understand your question," Optimius said after a minute.

Marty let out a soft huff. "It's just... Most humans, at least the ones who run things, don't care about innocent people dying. But you're not even from here and you care."

There was another pause, and Marty started to catch on that Optimus liked to think before he responded.

"It is a difficult concept to grasp," he said. "I do not take pleasure in any death, human or Cybertronian. Perhaps it is because we Autobots have a longer life cycle than humans, and we know the value of life."

Marty furrowed her brow. "That doesn't make any sense. Decepticons live just as long as Autobots, right?"

"Yes."

"And humans have shorter lives. So shouldn't humans appreciate life more because we don't have as long. Shouldn't we be trying to save lives?" 

"Your point is valid," Optimius said. "You have a wisdom beyond your years, young Martha."

Marty found herself smiling. She felt good inside, something she hadn't felt in a long time. "Thanks."

By now they were in the city limits. Marty watched the roads until she found hers. "I live right up here."

Optimius turned onto her street, parking near her house.

Marty unbuckled and grabbed her backpack. "Thanks for the ride," she said. She stopped as she was about to open the door. "Are you really gonna stay here all night?" 

"Those were my intentions," Optimius said. "With the Deception threat, it is a possibility that you are vulnerable to their attacks, should they target you."

Marty hummed in thought. "Well, in that case you might wanna park further away from my house. There's a clear view a few blocks down, so you can keep an eye out without being right in front of my house. My aunt can get paranoid."

Optimius hummed. "Thank you for your insight."

Marty found herself smiling again. "No problem," she opened the door and hopped out. 

Optimius rolled down the street as Marty walked up her driveway. She felt better than ever. Maybe it was because she actually talked to someone, even if it was the leader of a group of aliens.​​​​​​​

When did you first start watching Lone Star? Who or what introduced you to the show?

Okay im getting outed on main here, i didn’t watch LS until summer 2023. OKAY OKAY PUT THE PITCHFORKS DOWN. i watched OG 911 from the time it premiered until like season 5 where i fell out of it, and then picked it back up during season 6. And i really didn’t know much about lone star, but i finally broke down when i got sick and couldn’t leave my house for a week and i binged the show in a week. and now look at me. 

Which season is your favorite?

Season 3 my beloved, i fear nothing can top that season 

Who is your favorite character? (Bonus: If you answered TK or Carlos, who is your favorite besides them?)

NANCY. I have so many of my own thoughts for stories about her life, some published, some in the drafts, some just in my head. But she really deserves some screen time in general that isn’t servicing a man. 

I would like to maybe meet her sister and learn more about her family and past life that way? 

What is a scenario or storyline that you would like to see in season 5?

We all know im begging for lesbian marjan. But im also really excited for captain gillian!! my beloveds @pelorsdyke and @captain-gillian we all stayed here while others moved on 😔 (but please. if you're like us. and want to read Marjan hot for captain nancy. you must read k's fic here)

What do you think is going on in this still?

My answer is boring, but it's certainly around gabriel’s death. Maybe the call where he finds out gabriel isn’t dead and has been in witness protection??? (im delusional let me be) 

Where was the Tarlos honeymoon in your mind?

Somewhere away but not too far, maybe on the gulf coast. A nice resort, with a beach and a pool, but definitely not super far, as carlos gets homesick away from texas and he is grieving.

• Most recent drop: Night at the (Wax) Museum – an utterly cursed piece of work that is virtually unreadable. Seriously. I dare you to try. I wrote this for a guess-the-writer event and made it so unrecognisable as my own work that virtually no one read it at all. It’s a fun story and I hope that more people will read the grammatically correct version that I’ll be posting hopefully today.  

• Longest fic in 2023: empty, broken, lonely, hoping at 44k (Buck and Christopher are presumed dead when Buck’s building burns down) This is one of my favourites this year.

• Losing Hope (Buck gets pregnant right before the lawsuit but loses the baby). Huh. This surprised me. I never thought I’d write mpreg or lawsuit fic OR that it would be one of my highest kudos’d fic this year. How bizarre!

Upcoming events and projects for 2024

Gah this is scary, I have so many.

Reluctant Werewolf crack – I really need to sit down and finish the last chapter of this. It’s about half done.

Coronation crack – likewise. I got blocked when RWRB was released and featured a polo scene very similar to what I was planning for Buddie in England and haven’t been able to get back to it since. I think I’ll scrap that chapter and just finish it off. I loathe having unfinished wip’s partly posted, it does my head in.

Big werewolf AU – featuring all my favourite tropes of kidnapped Buck, worried Eddie, Buck whump and Eddie whump too. I started it in January 2023. It’s fully plotted and maybe 2/3’s written at around 70k.

Navy Seal Buck – there’s something so fun about secretly bamf! Buck going all out to protect his firefam. He gets whumped during the course of, naturally. Again, started in January 2023, fully plotted and is maybe half done at about 50k-ish.

Angsty Buckley family drama set around the Madney wedding aka the one that will make you all weep. Fully plotted, partly begun.

Kidnapped TK – this one is so big and complex that I’m thinking of turning it into a novel some day. Fully plotted and partially written.

Eddie porn reviewer. Plotted only.

Buck sex worker. Plotted, partially written.

Carla romance novelist gets Buddie together. Plotted, partially written.

Plus the other 90+ ideas in my Ideas folder!

I’m unlikely to get much done before Christmas, too busy with family stuff and am recovering from having to have an emergency appendectomy while also having Influenza A this week. It’s been… rough.

Same for January as hubby and I are going on the first holiday alone together since having kids – Tasmania here we come! I am very glad my surgery didn’t ruin that.

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

539,880 but this is skewed by several collaborations. The total words that are exclusively mine is probably closer to 400-450k

Yes! I love comments so much and appreciate readers who take the time to leave them, so I like to acknowledge that. Also, I've made several friends as a result of leaving comments or vice versa 💖💖

No angsty endings in this house

All of my fics have a happy ending (usually literally as well 😉)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA (yes, mostly smut with so many feelings)

I haven't ever written a crossover!

completely gratuitous outfit descriptions, banter, people seem to like when I write smut with feelings

Definitely world building, I'm not good at that

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I've included Spanish dialogue in both RWRB fic and Tarlos fic before with the generous assistance of some Spanish speaking friends. I think it can definitely work if the context is right.

currently reading: A Far Wilder Magic by Allison Saft. Was wary but hopeful going into this because I have little to no luck with any books labeled as "romantasy." I'm about halfway through and thoroughly relieved to be enjoying it a lot! Solid worldbuilding in fantasy world just left of irl early 1900s, great characters, and an interesting magic system. Tbh WAY more than I was expecting going into it and I've got another of her books lined up to read after

currently watching: numerous things, but mostly making my way back through c2. with a couple of friends, we're currently watching 911 Lone Star (for the second time, for one of my friends who didn't catch all the episodes), and with another friend we're rewatching Charmed, which I haven't seen since I was like. ten. Watching it back has been a wild ride, let me tell you.

(We are also watching reality tv show Farmer Wants A Wife--the American version--and we put it on initially as a joke, but it was surprisingly good? Honestly the least offensive piece of reality television media I've ever seen? It was a pleasant surprise and we're watching it week to week now after CR on Thursdays)

currently obsessed with: I was given a very pretty, very satisfying mechanical keyboard as condolence gift for the sudden and untimely death of my beloved laptop (may her memory be a blessing), and honestly it's pretty fantastic. I think I'm writing more now just for the joy of clicking the keys.

Also rather obsessed with the aggressive horse girl energy that is happening on the top of my desk rn (they were Christmas gifts. My mom and I visited a bona fide toy shop in early December and she saw me experience ~whimsy~ at seeing the Breyer holiday collection so now they, and also that clear unicorn ornament, have a permanent place on the top of my desk)

making progress….getting closer to the end of the fic. Tagging anyone who wants to play along this fine sunday morning.

Title: Choices and Regrets, Chapter 13

Fandom: 911, Dark Matter (2024 tv series)

Pairing: Buddie, Evan Buckley/Eddie Diaz/Evan Buckley

summary:

If you could go back and change the choices in your life, would you?  Would you love the same people, go on the same vacations, have the same career? Or would you have regrets?

After the lightning strike, an unexpected visitor makes Buck question all the choices he’s ever made. From dropping out of the Seals to never making a move on Eddie because the time hasn’t been right. He’s going to get an up close and personal look at what could have been because another version of Buck is focused on taking his choices away from him—including Eddie and Christopher Diaz.

Eddie tries to process Buck’s entire story but his brain is still stuck on how he didn’t recognize that Buck had been replaced.  It’s edging towards 0300 and all he can think of is the difference in how it is to touch his Buck versus the monster that had attempted to replace him.  The kiss from earlier buzzes under his skin, reminding him of how Buck had responded, had been just as desperate. 

Buck wants him.  

His Buck wants him.  

So does the other, monstrous version of Evan Buckley. 

Eddie shudders, chilled. 

Buck returns from the shower, wearing Bobby’s tank top and athletic shorts.  His skin glistens, still slightly wet and his curls are loose without gel coaxing them into a tighter style. “If you want it, shower’s free.”

“I’m good,” slips out.  He is, surprisingly.  He’s good as long as he’s here with Buck—this version of Buck.   His fingers itch to grab Buck’s hand again and thread their fingers together.  Eddie yearns for the anchor that touching Buck provides.  Buck is safety and love, the man who always has Eddie’s back. 

“I..uh,” Buck pauses, appearing nervous as he licks his lips, “I’m glad that Bobby gave you the rest of the night off.”

“Oh?” Eddie isn’t surprised.  Bobby knows him well enough that Eddie isn’t in the right headspace to be at work.  They’d had a talk after he’d come back from dispatch about being mentally present at work. Eddie’s good at compartmentalization—the army had taught him that along with his family from a young age.  However, not even Superman would always be able to compartmentalize what they see on the job every day according to Frank and Eddie’s had some hard lessons learned that way.  

Bobby knows that when it comes to Buck, Eddie’s compromised.  Eddie can’t shove shit to the side if he thinks Buck’s hurt and looking back at it, Eddie’s pretty sure Bobby clocked them early on on their codependency that Hen and Chim like to tease them about is about more than just dating each other.  Hell, until two weeks ago, Eddie’d never thought dating Buck was a possibility but he’s been compromised as hell for years when it comes to the leggy blonde. 

Eddie is never going to hear the end of being into leggy blonde jokes from his sisters once he tells them he’s dating Buck. Sophia already has been making jokes for years about Eddie’s type and yeah, Eddie’s been blind as a bat when it comes to Evan Buckley and how much he’s in love with him. 

Buck ducks his head, cheeks pinking adorably.  “We should get some sleep.”

“Yeah,” Eddie easily agrees.  He’s in his work t-shirt and boxers but feels overdressed, sitting on the foot of the bed. 

“Uh, which side…”

“Buck,” Eddie calls and Buck’s head snaps up, eyes electric in the dim light of the bedside lamp. “Come here.”

“Eddie?”

“We have some unfinished business from earlier,” Eddie points out. 

Buck shifts his weight on his feet, not coming any closer.  He’s just out of Eddie’s arm reach. “Earlier?”

“Yeah.  I mean, should we talk?”

“We weren’t doing much talking,” Buck spits out and his ears are turning red as the blush spreads.  

Eddie wants to know how far it goes.  He supposes that’ll mean getting Buck’s shirt off again. 

Buck is right though—they hadn’t been doing much talking. 

“C’mere, Buck.”

Buck steps forward at Eddie’s command, stopping only when he’s between Eddie’s spread knees.  Eddie reaches for Buck’s hand and twines their fingers, squeezing in reassurance.  Buck’s eyes don’t leave Eddie’s and his breath catches as the make skin to skin contact at the knee.  

“Eddie?”

Eddie tugs and Buck sinks to his knees, crowding into Eddie’s space but leaving barely a handbreadth between their chests.  At this level, with Eddie sitting, they’re eyes are level.  The crystalline blue of Buck’s eyes are so vivid in the light that Eddie wonders how he could ever have missed that the other version of Buck didn’t have the gentleness and love there when he looked at Eddie because it pours out of Buck.  The goodness within him, the brightness of his soul shines on Eddie and he feels the other man’s touch fade from his memory. 

“Buck,” Eddie calls again, cradling Buck’s face in his hand.  Buck presses his cheek into Eddie’s palm, dark eyelashes fluttering as he sighs in contentment at Eddie’s touch. The rub of a thumb opens those cherry red lips and the press of a kiss has Eddie moving forward to join their mouths.  

Unlike their previous kiss, there’s no desperation in this one.  It starts gentle, a meeting of mouths and a sharing of breath before deepening as Eddie’s tongue sweeps into Buck’s mouth to taste.  Buck’s tongue greets his, licking and teasing as teeth nip at the swollen lower lip and Buck crowds closer, arms slipping around one another in an embrace that’s been years in the making. 

Careful of the bruises he now knows are there, Eddie pulls Buck in fully.  They’re pressed together from groin to mouth and the answering hardness in Buck’s shorts emboldens Eddie to slip a hand underneath the waistband of Buck’s shorts to wrap his free hand around the cock he finds there.  The shaft is slippery and warm against his palm as he gives an experimental pull, making Buck groan and shudder in Eddie’s arms. 

“Eddie,” Buck mewls as he breaks the kiss to breathe, quivering in Eddie’s hold.  

“I got you,” Eddie tells Buck.  “I got you.”

“Eddie, please.  I…”

“You what?” Eddie asks, smiling as he nips at Buck’s lip and gives the cock in his hand another stroke.  Buck is so responsive to each touch and it’s empowering to feel how much control he has over his lover, the permission he’s being given and the trust. It’s the complete opposite of how it was with Buck’s doppelgänger. 

How could Eddie have mistaken that other man for the one in his arms?  He’d been so blind by the idea of finally getting to have Buck that he’d ignored so many warning signs and he’ll carry that grief until the end of his days. 

“Please, Eddie,” Buck begs and Eddie knows he’ll give the one thing he couldn’t give the facsimile of him.  

“Come to bed, Buck,” Eddie coaxes.

“Eddie,” Buck whines, already reduced to repeats of Eddie’s name but Eddie can read the paragraphs of words behind his name.  The love that Buck has for him.  The same soul deep need to be together for the rest of their lives. 

He’d been missing this.  Now that he’s found it, Eddie will never give this up.

I try to. But it usually takes me a minute because I'm a very awkward human and it's worse when it's about something I made, so I need to think answers through.

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

this surprise ending i’m depending on (could be the story of another us) she doesn't have a happy ending at all, it's just unrequited love, Buck is dating and Eddie has feelings about it. I wrote it trying to process my own feelings about the cemetery, it has no dialogue, it's quite angsty I think.

I do not. I mean, I don't publish it, there's a wip that I kinda needed the context around the sex and I tried my hand on it, but I don't think that's ever seeing the light of day.

my brain said percabeth so im gonna go with that aoskoaskasok but buddie and stydia are up there too.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

the Buck gets struck by lightning but Eddie is still working dispatch fic. I love that concept but I can't make my vision work.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Emotionally heavy angst oskaoksaskoas I think I'm really good at digging in where it hurts and making you feel the emotional tension around a situation

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I think I overuse the name of the characters sometimes, and I recently caught the same sentence in a similar context in like, 4 of my fics and I was like, not happy about it oaskoaksoakss and I don't write linearly, so that usually bites me in the ass later when I'm trying to connect the dots, because usually when I have an idea I have no idea where it starts, I just type things out and pray for the best, sometimes I need to compromise on stuff I wish I didn't or extend the context to make it better, but it's not always that I can make the context work, so that's a problem that leaves me editing a fic a bit too much. Oh, I'm also terrible at writing a relationship once it's established. No matter the couple, they get together I blank, the turnout fic is legitimately a miracle sokasokoskaosk

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

honestly, right now I think it's awkward, at least for me in my own writing, I tried to make Eddie speak some Spanish and I was cringing the whole way through. I do have a Brazilian oc in a wip that's never gonna see the light of that and she speaks some Portuguese but that's because I had to over the plot.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

the 100 I think, it might've been a stranger thing fic no one ever read, but I wrote it in a notebook and I don't remember when I did it, I didn't even remember writing it until I found it a few months ago, so I don't really know if it was before or after the 100 ones.

20. Favorite fic you’ve written?

it's between the trauma fic and the soau fic. The trauma fic just because of the way I really tried to make it as close to the show as possible and I'm really proud of the way I did that and the feedback I got on it is really insane, and she's just my baby. And the soau fic even if she doesn't have a happy ending, I really like the way I did the whole no dialogue thing, before writing that I would never say I could just write a fic that's all around the feelings in a situation, and I really like what I did there.
