Au where when Saiki was younger, he sometimes ran into Aren's mom injured and helped her out, and he became something like an unofficial medic to her and her little group. Sometimes when Saiki was patching her up, she would vaguely talk about her kid around his age and stuff. Well, she wouldn't mention Aren by name or talk about him out loud but Saiki just reads her thoughts and so he vaguely knows about her little Hoodlum but then she and her gang moved and Saiki being a little too good at Rock Paper Scissors happened and so they got separated and drifted apart.

Only for some odd years later (Like, four or five) and Aren transfers into Saiki's class with his whole trying to be a normie spiel and how he is totally not gonna be a punk anymore. Aren doesn't really look like his parents (In the same way of how Kusuo and Kusuke don't really look like Kurumi) so Saiki doesn't really suspect anything- and neither does Aren, and they carry on. Imagine a similar situation as the street magician Chouno Uryoku and how his ex-wife did not look anything like how the dude thought of her.

Saiki never really got out of his Street Medic habits and Aren sometimes coming to school with some scrapes from gangsters either trying to pick a fight or drag him back into his past only exacerbates Saiki's medic habits. Like, he always used to carry bandages and alcohol wipes and antibiotic ointment, but had talked to just carrying bandages because a whole medkit had been annoying to carry and needless for an esper like him. Though, he had started carrying a bit more for Kaidou and Hairo when they become closer. (Saiki adds the antibiotic ointment back into his repertoire for Aren)

When they gets close enough and Aren invites them to his house is when the fun really starts. Kaidou and Nendo find Aren's baby album and look through it and everything. But Saiki spots a smaller album on the book shelf and is thinking "Better not show too many of these family albums to those two, who knows what we might see" trying not to think about the album collections documenting his parent's dates and stuff.

And when Aren comes back into the room the four are just vibing and hanging out, Aren even bought out some Coffee jelly as an offering thank you for coming ya introverted bean. So, even Saiki is in a pretty good mood. And then they hear the front door open and close with shuffling and stuff with a 'We're home, Hoodlum!' and Aren going to greet his parents like the totally good kid he is, and Saiki is like "??? That voice sounds kinda familar."

And whadduya know!

When Aren's mom turns around from putting stuff in the fridge, Saiki instanting recognizes her and its the same lady he helped all those years ago! I imagine its not a big dramatic moment but there is a "What a surprise" moment. And she's just like "Haha! Little Medic, you're friends with my brat, what a small world! I hope he's treating you and his other friends right."

And Aren is standing there after trying to introduce his friends like "What." Kaidou says "You know Saiki???? But he never leaves his house!" But Nendou is the one to be like "Wow, Aren's Mom, how do you know my buddy?"'

To which Aren's Mom says briefly that Saiki used to get discounts from the stores near her hangouts (Rough part of town, but great prices for stingy child espers) and how he used to help her and some of her girls. Aren is over here dumbfounded, and Kaidou is just like, "wouldn't he have been like, six, a decade ago??" That Saiki pointedly does not confirm.

But Saiki and Aren's mom are over here just casually talking while all the other teenagers are standing there, bewildered. Like, Aren is over here being like "Hold on, I thought Saiki was a goody-goody, He knows my mom?!?" Meanwhile:

Aren's Mom: How's that brother of yours?

Saiki: Moved to Britain and is still a sore loser.

Aren's Mom: Haha, good to know he's not bothering ya! So, how's my little hoodlum doing in class? Not being a brat is he?

Saiki in a true show of open candidness: If he was a bother, he wouldn't still be in my class.

And Kaidou and Aren are nearly shitting their pants from this being like "SAIKI?????" with it just completely flying over Nendo's head.

Then, the rest of the hang out is Aren's Mom sharing stories of tiny Aren while Saiki is eating more Coffee Jelly

Character Dynamics: Kakyoin & Polnareff

In a previous post, I mentioned that one of the personal gripes I had with Stardust Crusaders was the missed opportunity to expand the main cast's character further, either individually or through interaction with one another.

And what canon reference will I base all my yapping on? Look no further than the episode where the Crusaders are fighting "High Priestess"- The submarine scene right before they go swimming and get eaten.

You know that scene where Polnareff does a series of big vague arm movements and Kakyoin somehow knows what that means, and then they ensue the "Serious Bro Code Handshake" no one knows about but them.

And some quick special mentions of them fighting as a unit during that scene where Kakyoin and Polnareff fight against the man with two right hands, or Enyaba the Hag's son to put it simply, and that time where they had to get rid of The Lovers from Joseph's head.

In this post, I'll talk about a dynamic that's not too appreciated and should've been more consistent (though that's what I think from what I've seen online) is that between Noriaki Kakyoin and Jean Pierre Polnareff.

Disclaimer: I'll talk about them in a platonic way (because we can appreciate two dudes being great buddies without automatically making them suck each other's lip and cock), but if you think otherwise, then kudos! You do you.

These 2 are, what I feel, would've been a duo with almost a similar dynamic to the one we see with Josuke and Okuyasu, being the difference is that unlike the 2 latter duo consisting of the typical "Dumb-and-Dumber" dynamic, KakPol is more "Nerd-Himbo".

So what makes this duo work exactly? Why am I compelled to write this post?

Well, to simply put, I love an interaction between a typically introverted person and an extroverted person. It's fun to watch Person X dragging Person Y into shenanigans, the latter being too not-cool with it at first, only for said person to go "Fuck it, we ball."

That's why I like writing them as this duo in my stories (namely in Only You, Playing Cupid, and Volleyball).

Kakyoin is not a social person. We know that from his quick backstory. However, despite his lack of social connection, he's polite with the way he interacts with others. He's also an amalgamation of a nerd and a geek: A person filled with ideas and thoughts, capable of providing reasonable logical strategies that benefit the group, and who also has interests in fun stuff like sumo wrestling and video games.

On the other hand, Polnareff will be Polnareff. He's a Frenchman who wears his emotions on his sleeve. He's a little out there with the folks, will get all buddy-buddy with strangers, will flirt with the ladies, and is generally a loud-and-proud kind of dude. But beneath all that social energy, he's also righteous in his own way, wanting to live up to what he deems the right thing to do.

If you put them together, then you get a dynamic that would spill this type of dialogue:

"Aren't you gonna eat your sausages?" "No." "Why?" "Sausage is made with sodium glutamate and sodium nitrate, which are carcinogens." "… So why don't you eat them?" "… Why would you eat carcinogens on purpose?" "Then I'll take them." "But-" "…" "Fine."

The lines above are from a movie named "Midnight Runners". You can swap the main duo of the film with KakPol and there wouldn't be many differences. Both of them behave and speak the way Kakyoin and Polnareff do personality-wise.

Kakyoin is the brain of the two, and Polnareff is the muscle. While Kak's the one offering out things to do, Pol makes sure he lives up to that by making him do said things with him. Polnareff is the type of guy who likes to venture out and have fun, while Kakyoin is someone who wants to do said fun things but feels awkward initiating them, often finding it more comfortable envisioning it rather than actually doing it.

They'd be the type where Pol, the man from France itself, would play bachelor, attempt to swoon some girls, and drag Kakyoin to his antics. He'd share some cheesy Casanova techniques with the poor boy, Kak eventually warms up to the idea having nothing better to do and listens, they attempt trying them out, only to eventually fail at the end of the day. Cue Kak who suggests they play video games instead to which Pol agrees to it.

Pol: And no Jotaro, you're not joining. You attract ladies just by breathing. You don't count.

Jotaro: middle finger

If there's an exam and the question is "List the 3 sources of investigation", Kakyoin would answer "Examine victim, evidence, and crime scene" (emphasizes Logic), while Polnareff would answer "Passion, tenacity, and a big heart" (emphasizes Values). And, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they also share some squabble and banter from time to time.

That's why there's a difference in dynamics with "Polnareff and Kakyoin" compared to "Polnareff and Jotaro".

Jotaro is more hands-on and nonchalant about the way he lives his life. He lets events play out and has no problem joining in and exploring as he goes along the way.

Kakyoin is more hesitant and wants to think about it more, pondering whether or not said activity is worth it or not. Pol and Joot can hang out and smoke all they want almost immediately, but Pol must convince Kak before doing anything outside Cherry Boy's comfort zone.

There's that satisfaction in having Kakyoin feel less alone and be brought of his shell thanks to Polnareff's interventions. He gets to share his more geeky side with someone who's like "Sounds cool!"

It also works in the battlefield as well. As I mentioned, Kakyoin is the strategist. He comes up with the ideas- they can be half-baked or fool-proofed, either way, the second a plan is suggested, Polnareff will agree to it and execute any of them if it sounds good enough.

I don't know how to end this. It's rather abrupt, but yeah! In my opinion, Kakyoin and Polnareff are just a couple of bros who needed more screen time as a duo.

Now, if you're anything like me, when they first announced Bravely Default II, at the ending shot, my eyes went straight to who we now know as Seth:

The first thought I had, and I think I surely couldn't have been the only one, was 'is that a Tiznes kid?' because darn, he looks like the most standard imagining you could make when trying to imagine a mashup between them:

He has roughly Agnès' hair color and color theme, Tiz's more unruly hair, and heck, in character art, I know there's only so many ways to draw boots but you can't tell me his share no resemblance to Tiz's either:

And with Bravely Second ending with Agnès' proposal to Tiz, it just seemed to work out all too perfectly. Married couples usually aren't in video games as party members any more, and with Tiz a party member in both games and Agnès in 1, people would likely want some fresh blood, too. Classic enough to thrown in kids to continue the line of games, too.

The biggest thing that got me even more hyped that this might be the case, besides just the passing resemblances, was the first drips of info we got on this dude. Even aside from his personality, which was again sounding like what would generally happen if two nice, honest, well-meaning people with a strong sense of justice raised a child, there was another thing.

I don't think I've seen anyone else bring this up, but what stuck out to me was his job as a sailor.

After all, in a party chat, we found out in the first game that Tiz's childhood dream was to be a sailor.

And, I dunno... Somehow, I could see it as vaguely poetic and a very Bravely "remember this minor detail from a previous game? ha that's relevant now" way, that Tiz's childhood dream gets reflected in what his son(?) could now do, pursue what he could not from a sleepy village as a humble shepherd family, ya know? After all, I'm sure even if Tiz and Agnès returned to Norende to chill and live a modest existence after killing 2 gods, doesn't mean that their bank accounts were. Agnès was the Pope, and who knows how much pg from their travels they got to keep?

Look, all I'm saying is that Tiz and Agnès would absolutely be the parents to go "Go on honey you can do anything you want to in life, we got you :-)" encouragement, I think.

Plus, I just think it's funny to have another 'like father, like son' moment in that Tiz absolutely seems to be 'the country boy that keeps getting wrapped up in personal disasters/matters beyond his comprehension'.

He (*takes a deep breath*) dies with the rest of his town, gets revived by the Celestial Player, kills a god after a world spanning journey, falls into a coma for 2 years, gets woken up from getting possessed by another Celestial, goes on another world-spanning journey, kills a god, dies again, and gets resurrected for good by ~time energy~ that was just accrued from another Celestial delivering the fancy magic hourglass to him in the past by creating a time rift to the first game.

So, yeah, I would absolutely be here for a similarly disaster-prone son getting caught in strange storms and washes up in lands he doesn't know!

Why, it sounds stupidly similar to the 'getting thrown into other worlds' that the Default crew went through, huh!

All the stars were aligning in my head. Seth looks like a Tiznes child, could possibly be a reflection of the freedom that Tiz and Agnès wanted but didn't have for themselves as Holy Secluded Lady and Poorly Shepherd growing up, and has mysteriously washed ashore (ahem, survived a calamitous sinking, mind you) in lands he doesn't know when the most predominate form of world hopping we saw was a pillar of light in the sea, where a sailor is perhaps the most likely occupation to encounter it (however improbable that the Pillar opened again after Default).

But noooooooooo, Seth's just some random dude from a random sea village who doesn't know dink and has 0.00 ties to anyone from previous games or really much of one to anyone at all, much like everyone else.

Sigh.

Uhhh I guess the corndog fic?? all my wolfstar fics currently end happily, though Of Monsters and Cowards has more of an open ending

They're all happy honestly, but The Hut of the Mistold is probably the most neatly wrapped up, all the warm and fuzzies, happily ever after ending.

8. Do you get hate on fics?

Nothing directly mean, but I'll get comments that make me go, "why did you feel the need to say that?" Like ranting a little too enthusiastically about the main character's choices or commenting on how they wanted more of xyz in a chapter (especially when the fic isn't even finished!) Oh and I got one the other day from a guest on a reply I made to someone else that was clearly trying to start an argument about something that had nothing to do with the fic??? I don't respond to those comments.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Typically I write a little smooching that fades into a vague description, but I wrote six different versions of smut for don't cover our tracks

I write a lot of AU's based in other worlds, but not crossovers. (Unless @impishtubist and I make the ineffable wolfstar crossover happen!)

Not that I know of. And hot take—I genuinely think a lot of cases of "fic stealing" are just coincidence. I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but I do believe we're all collectively tossing around one brain cell, and we're bound to have similar ideas.

I once read a fic that shared a lot of themes/ideas/details with one of my fics, and upon discovering this, I plotted to trick the writer into becoming my deeply beloved mutual.

I've had people ask if they could translate my fics before a few times, but I don't think anything has come of it?

The idea possessed me back in January of last year, and I plotted out the entire thing, but I've had no motivation to actually write it. I think the problem is that it's too cinematic, and I can't translate it to prose.

16. What are your writing strengths?

Probably world-building, in the way that I can look at one world and say "how would this translate to another?" "what little details and references can I pull from and play with?" "how do I adjust my writing style to make this feel like the genre I'm replicating?"

Also unusual metaphors, zingy little commentary, and comedic timing in dialogue.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

I really struggle with prose. Which sounds silly, but like, I'm not writing prose—I'm translating the screenplay in my brain to prose, which is weird. And I think it can make my writing really jarring because it's lacking that slow, immersive reflection that is just so delicious when done well.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

Dude I put a few Welsh words in hotm and panicked that even those would be wrong. If it was ever important for the story, I'd find someone who spoke the language to help me.

Fandom: BioShock (infinite I guess? Idk some time during Atlas was around)

Character: Atlas, Irish twat

Pairing: Romantic for Atlas, altho darling would theoretically not like them.

Type of Fic: a short. Plot being, darling tries to escape Atlas again (who wouldn't the dude is nuts) and he cements his craziness by giving her a lobotomy (like in the game) as punishment. Whether he finishes the surgery or not is up to you, all I know is that you can theoretically survive a lobotomy. Or not, idk I ain't a doctor

I'd love to! I watched the cutscenes with Atlas in them for Infinite and I'd love to write something similar to that!

Traversing Rapture alone was a dangerous feat. Splicers roamed everywhere and actively hunted each other down. Rapture was a collapsing city consumed with conflict.

To you, the idea of hiding from Splicers like some street rat in a sunken city was better than going back to Atlas.

Ah, Atlas... a revolutionary leader against Andrew Ryan's tyranny. In reality, the two weren't all that different. If anything you found Atlas a bit more sadistic and cruel than Ryan.

Atlas was also your lover. You wish you could say he wasn't... but he was never too keen on the idea of letting you go. You had become an item with him on a whim, he's charismatic and has such a way with convincing people.

When you got closer to him you realized the truth of who Atlas was. He wasn't a charming leader, it was an act. He's cruel, manipulative, and willing to kill and torture to get what he wants.

That very same Atlas tried to be sickeningly sweet with you. He called you his girl, his doll, his lovely lady.... The very same mouth that hurled insults and threats towards others... kissed you with passion and complimented you.

He's a charming monster. One who metaphorically chained you to him to keep you as his. You had no doubts he killed and tortured for you... just so he can keep his claws in your flesh.

There was a certain point you couldn't handle being beside him anymore. His kisses and hold were always too rough. He made you do what he wanted, regardless on how you felt.

That look in his eyes screamed possessive. He always looked at you with hunger as he held you. He scared you... sometimes you feared he'd kill you.

You escaped... you ran the moment you sensed danger within the man who claimed to love you. The Splicers were not much better but with some stealth you could probably survive, right? In all honesty... you had no idea where you were going to go after this.

Escaping Atlas was simply a dream. Ever since his whole crew had been sunk by Ryan, you have been stuck here. It's like you were in a cage, really.

He'd find you at some point... there was no doubt he was looking for you now. You knew he'd never let you go willingly. In fact, many of his thugs swarmed this area.

You felt like everyone was your enemy. Think of your situation, a young women lost in a city that's falling apart. Her lover being a cruel tyrant for "the people"....

Being caught was inevitable. You could only run for so long. As much as you wanted to ignore the truth, the truth would slam back into your face.

Just like the wrench that collided with the back of your head.

By the time you're able to regain your bearings, you're strapped to a chair in a familiar room. The lights blind you and your head throbs painfully like a rhythmic drum

This looks a lot like... the room you and Atlas would frequently stay in? You can't think much without the back of your head ringing in pain. You shake in your restraints, trying to pull them off.

Only to stop when the shape of a hand grips your chin.

"Don't move, doll, it'll only make it all hurt a lot worse."

The tyrant rears his deceptively charming head.

"Atlas...."

"Now where were you running off to, little lady? Needed some fresh air? You know it's dangerous without me around...."

You stay silent, what were you thinking....

"It hurts, really. To think you'd run away from the one I thought you held so dear. Luckily I had one of my men carry you in..." Atlas then leans forward, grinning. "Of course, he hit you rather hard, so I had to correct that by slitting his throat. You aren't getting off easy either, love."

"You really are going to kill me, aren't you-"

"Kill you? I could never. I love you too much for that..." Atlas leans forward to kiss your lips teasingly before pulling away. "I would never kill my doll... however, a man has to correct his lady's behavior, right?"

Your heart drops to you stomach when Atlas turns away only to come back with two tools. A metal spike, and a mallet. Your eyes shakily trail from the tools to his disappointed face.

"I thought you'd be a good girl and listen to me. I guess not... which is where these come in. Normally a doctor would do this but I'd rather do it on you myself, my love."

He pushes your head back and aims the pointed tool near your eye socket. You shake and tell him 'no'. He doesn't listen.

"This is a lobotomy, my dear." Atlas hums, pushing the tool closer.

"You could say it will correct your behavior. I always felt you've been a bit too rebellious for my liking."

You feel the tool starting to prod its way into your skull. Atlas grabs the mallet and grins while blood flows down from your eye.

"How about we change your mindset, love? I promise to be gentle...."

You scream for him to stop... he ignores you and taps the mallet on the tool lodged in your skull.

You felt like you lost a part of yourself after Atlas took you in. In fact, you literally did. Atlas had removed a part of your brain. Some memories from your past were replaced with what felt like blank holes.

Your emotions... were nearly non-existent. Apathy was all you ever felt. Actually... you felt quite hollow.

Atlas didn't seem too upset about it. In fact, he felt it was deserved. Running away deserved punishment... now you wouldn't run away. Now you had to stay by him.

Atlas still kissed you and said he loved you. Even though he mutilated your mind beyond repair, he simply used it to his advantage. Now you were just like he had wanted you.

You were like a doll that listened to his every word. You never showed much emotion afterwards. That only allowed Atlas more control, which kept him happy.

"It's such a shame I had to change you like this, doll...." Atlas murmurs, kissing you once again while holding your cheek. "But if I'm being honest... I like that you no longer fight me with anything now."

He pulls you closer, combing his hands down your back.

"Now you won't run... you won't even rebel..."

Atlas holds your chin upwards and meets your distant gaze.

"You can just be my girl... with none of the added fuss, right, love?"

He kisses you once again, but you don't react.

I meant to send this yesterday, but did you ever mention what exactly Josh is? I honestly don’t remember there ever being clarification (and if there was it totally went over my head) and while i was rereading for the umpteenth time Josh was referred to by splinter as “the copper one” and my mind kinda went “Excuse me, Copper???” I figured he was a Yokai of some kind but then we know that Rose is a witch/from witch town (right?) so whenever I vision Josh is just a very wobbly image of some nerdy buff guy idk and he’s always wearing a blue shirt for some reason :P

Lol well you're pretty close! Josh and his brother and sister are all witches from Witch Town and look vaguely humanish, as Yokai witches are shown to be.

Like yes, these people are undoubtedly Not Human, but unlike many other Yokai they don't seem to be anything else in particular. (in general-I see Lion Dude up there, but he's an outlier) (I've actually thought a lot about the lore of Witch Town and I have no idea if I'm going to end up using any of it so I might do a write-up one of these days)

Josh and his family (his twin sister, their little brother, and the little brother's husband, and maybe his niece I haven't decided if she exists here) all live in Witch Town and run an apothecary. They actually met Bella because the little brother Reed (who I apparently haven't even referenced by name yet, sorry Reed) was her bodyguard while she competed in the Nexus. He got into some debt and the debt was then purchased by Big Mama, and he refused to fight for her. Big Mama basically rigged his contract so he could never pay her back, effectively enslaving him, and had his tongue cut out for talking back to her too many times. He got assigned to Bella because she already knew how to sign, they became friends, and when she left she bought out his contract. Turns out his sister was hot and his brother was her platonic soulmate, so happily ever after. (Bella and Reed are still really good friends, they're just less reasons to mention him because his skills aren't really plot-relevant)

Josh is definitely a nerd, he's pretty tall and broad-shouldered but skinny. He's kind of pink, not intensely so but definitely a few shades into 'not a human skin color'. His hair is either blond or he's a very light redhead, depending on how I feel that day. He has an extremely prominent nose, which...I just realized that doesn't sound good, considering he's Jewish. Okay, to be fair, when I designed him he was not Jewish. He's a Dishonored OC, the Dishonored world does not have any real-world religions, they have one twink who is also a whale as their god and their religion is centered around hating on him. I made Josh Jewish because Bella was Jewish and I kind of liked the idea of her bonding with him and his family over that. (I don't know why Bella is Jewish, she just Was) (also Bella and Josh aren't religiously Jewish-they're atheists)

Rose looks pretty similar, except she's much shorter (which vexes her greatly, as she's the oldest) and her hair is more of a ginger color. Reed however is massive, taller than his brother and super buff, like 'body of a Greek god' but unironically. His coloring is more pinkish-purple and darker because he has a different father. Everyone thirsts over him and he is entirely oblivious. His husband got a lot of high-fives when he put a ring on it. (and a lot of jealous glowers, especially when the story of how he proposed with a BBQ sandwich came out)

Splinter calls him 'the copper one' because their last name is Copperspoon but he couldn't remember. (he's old) And they have that name because their mother is this bitch:

my thoughts of what each jojolands character is VAGUELY based on.

Disclaimer to the ppl who get angry at these kinds of posts: I KNOW theyre all their own characters & i think of them as their own characters too. I dont see them as like “giorno, doppio, and hermes” and all. I hate dio, but i LOVE diego. The fact that hes slightly based on dio doesnt make me hate him 🤷 its more like he would be his better cousin LOL. thats how i (and most of us) feel about jodio and usagi too. theyre like giorno and diavolo’s cousins. its very fun to associate them to previously existing characters!

Anyways!:

Jodio = inspired by jolyne and giorno (obvious)

Dragona = partly inspired by hermes and mista

Paco = very slightly inspired by risotto, santana and abbacchio

Usagi = partly inspired by fugo, narancia and diavolo/doppio

my reasonings are:

Dragona: mista: mother-like figure to their stand. ☠️ jobro to giorno (hermes also is a jobro to jolyne). Also that scene of jodio and dragona being silly together reminded me of trish and mista🥺

hermes: no not only bc of her locs 😭 bc of the “big bro” title as well. Ik its silly to base on hair style too, but jodio had a star braid at first (still has a bit of a braid) so i think its kinda intentional on araki’s part.

Paco: santana: bad dad, can manipulate skin, theres a better explanation abt this somewhere 😭

risotto: his design exposing his chest with an X & his foot (nearly) gets cut off lol. also similarish vibes? but hes more similar to abbacchio, trying to act tough, physically strongest of the group but lowkey a softie. Risotto isnt rlly a softie, at least not like abbacchio is.

abbacchio: hates on teens but then is secretly like 🥺🥹🥹🥹🥹🥹 when theyre safe (usagi). And he was aggressive towards usagi in the beginning like was with giorno.

Usagi: narancia: sillay. Paco and Usagi’s dynamic is similar to abbacchio’s and narancia’s. Usagi is 17 and Jodio is 15, Dragona is 18. Just like nara, gio, and mista. ☝️🤓

fugo: similar hair to fugo, anddd BIGGEST NERD OF THE GROUP. thats it. i think usagi is more like narancia if he went to school tbh🥺

doppio/diavolo: stand based on king crimson, also super cute like doppio. also his pony tail reminds me of doppio’s braid (plus the fact that i loved him the moment i saw him (yes, even when he was known as just hotdog man i was like OMG HE LOOKS FUNNY AND CUTEEE I LOVE HIM HAHAH I HOPE HES A MAIN CHARACTER :D while everyone was hating on him. Im his fan since day 0!!!) & the rest of the whole part ive been adoring him. /platonically (if it wasnt obvious im a big fan of doppio)

Also, a lot of ppl who love those characters love the characters theyre based on too.

Of course, some ppl who dont like those past characters like the newer ones despite that, just like me with diego☠️

mmmaybe? like i do have a couple of ideas, but nothing too concrete. one idea involved the reader being, well, the mother of monsters and the butcher would probably become more monstrous over time because of the silent hill related plot reasons. thing is, the reader wouldn't know there were changes at all, being too addicted to the butcher's to pay attention. I'm being very vague on this one because...idk how to communicate the story yet, if at all.

the other one might involve incest though, because of the monsters the reader birthed cooperating with the butcher, under the god's order. this one is just...a concept more than anything though because tentacles are fun.

So, my dear little Buggy, I had no idea that shipping time would be now nor did I know that I would actually ship you with Seungmin, I promise it isn’t a form of bribery.

I very well nearly shipped you with Changbin but I ultimately came to the conclusion that while most of the members would absolutely cherish you, there is no other who has more love in his heart for you than Seungmin.

You had me quite speechless? 아무리 생각해도 너의 성격을 어떻게 설명해야할지 몰랐다 (apologies for the spontaneous Korean sometimes English just fails on me, so maybe just use a translator if you need to) there were so many fascinating aspects of your personality that at times I felt 초현실적이��� 멍한 because I couldn’t believe there was actually someone out there like you.

There is something so ethereal about you and while that mystifies me it would have Seungmin in a very gentle chokehold. He is drawn to you and instead of trying to figure you out he’d opt to fall in love with you, dating you is a fantasy of his and he wasn’t guilty about that notion. There was so much certainty, he just knew he wanted to date you, though some of it was a territorial puppy love kind of thing where he wanted to act first before one of the other members fell for you.

There is something so charming about your visuals, a dual sense of maturity and youthfulness, I also just like your nose and eyebrows. But this isn’t about me and what I like, it’s about how good your features look when picturing you and Seungmin together.

You actually share a few of the same facial features, you have an incredibly similar face shape and you both possess the same alluring eyes. When shipping someone I like to have at least some contrast in visuals but this is the best exception ever. I absolutely adore the fact that you look similar, it’s giving Ken and Barbie.

Despite being a couple of regular visuals, your relationship is so much more than the physical aspects. Your personality reflects the grunge type of edge that you lean towards and I vaguely mentioned it in the beginning of your ship but this would truly make him fall hard.

You both tend to bond over your more reserved personalities, while Seungmin can be a little grumpy and lowkey judgemental he is too charmed to ever judge you. There is actually no reason for him to judge you considering you are the perfect dose of cute and homely and edgy and outgoing.

Even if Seungmin leans so heavy into being whipped for you he never really mentions it. But please don’t worry, it shows in the way he remembers every small thing you say. He is very keen to adapt to you and your interests, so that he can be the most present boyfriend ever.

A good example is the fact that he wasn’t really overly in love with cozy games but he would study them enough to recite the whole damn game lore to you.

Another thing worth mentioning is your overall dynamic, though Seungmin can be a bit much he is so in love with you and he will even let you lead the relationship, giving you an opportunity to experiment with your relationship.

There are so many things that he will not say but it is apparent that you would have fully won his heart over and it is even more apparent that he would happily ditch the members for you when he can.

And it’s on those nights where he finally got to leave the dorm and stay with you, the nights where he rests his head on your shoulder and smiles at you with a coy blush. That’s when you know you have found your soulmate.

-Cider accidentally helped us realize that our old adhd meds actually ended up triggering a bad psychosis episode that was not caught. [this episode happened in ~2020-2021]

-We lost power during a nasty snowstorm. we watched a bunch of animations we had saved, the most notable being some TFMI animations and some jams animations.

- A toxic ex-friend cuts contact with us, who was bringing back a ton of bad memories

- ribs gets jumpscared by memories of how he formed, starts worrying about someone. starts majorly missing the chill ppl he used to interact with on dA.

- conner's trauma-anniversary of forming.

- blaze gets jumpscared by memories of how he formed, starts worrying about someone.

- philly and blaze 2 form, these two are both doubles and specifically are snapshots of Ribs and Blaze from ~2019. Philly being a double of Ribs, and Blaze 2 well obviously is a Blaze double. Oh, I just absolutely love it. But maybe Desmond could still need to hop into the Animus and into Connors memories to find maybe additional power sources? (I cannot really remember anymore why Desmond needed to relive Connor's memories) So that it comes full circle and the child Connor isn't just kinda a 'random kid' anymore. And the problem with the eye and Desmonds own doom still kind of stands? Although it could be possible through some kind of genetic/Isu bs that it would be possible to survive if one (or all) of his ancestors touch the Eye too, bc the genetic makeup of Altaïr (and/or Ezio and Connor) could be enough to count as similar enough to Desmond, so he won't take the complete hit (and everyone survives, yay! But Juno still escapes (buh!)). I fully believe that Altaïr would be the one to somehow discover this loophole (my hc is just that this man is so sharp at times (if he isn't an idiot)) with either one of the apples, while cracking it like a rubix cube, or some tugged away memory seals or smth. I really need Clay as some kind of absolutely chaotic friend, who drives everyone up the walls. (Lucy is still relieved that he lives again) and this sentence hits kind of different because as far as resurrection goes (sages excluded, I think that is a little different) there aren't that many instances in human history, I think. All the while William just sits in the corner with his head in his hands And for the resurrection myth and the sages, I sadly don't really have knowledge with anything that happens in Valhalla or beyond so that would be something completely up to you, but with the sage? Junis husband could have been their first 'test subject', bc he died and under Junos order, they tried to recreate an Isu/human body but due to some bs, there was already a soul bound to the body, so now everytime this dude gets born, he literally tries to rip apart the soul already inside the body so he can take control. The Altaïr getting us

It’s possible. What we can do is that the power sources they used are from Altaïr’s memories (aka the glowing pings in the hologram globe at the end of AC1) and they go for Ratonhnhaké:ton’s older memories where he was traveling the world to find out what his late father was up to.

Altaïr could have gotten the idea prodding the Apple to why it has to be Desmond. He would actually figure out that Desmond is meant to be sacrificed around the time they’re looking for power sources and that would start his task of dominating the Apple to stop being vague and give him something.

Something turns out to be the whole schematics of the device and what was left incomplete about it. Clay would be there to support him with his techno know how.

Clay tells everyone that he’s Lazarus in the flesh and Shaun absolutely wants to do something, he isn’t sure what it is, but the historian in him wants to just research Clay and his possible connection to the ‘stories’ of Lazarus.

Sages are from a failed project and Juno actually made Aita have Sages after he ‘died’ (or, at the very least I think comatose) so we can switch it around.

The device was created to try and transfer Aita into a new body BUT it rejected Isu bodies (or Aita’s mind was simply too damaged to be used) so she counted it as a failure and revisited the Mead project to make Aita a Sage instead.

I have this plot idea or whatever it is called stuck in my head for some days now (not rlly connected tho to the HZD hc). It's kinda like an reincarnation/time travel fix it? Maybe? Sort of? And it could be AltDes, bc I love them together. You can use it tho if you like and/or if it tickles your fancy

Like Desmond grows up constantly being lonely, physically and emotionally. We know William and he prioritized Desmonds training over everything else. He runs away from the farm, doesn't trust other people bc he always has to watch his back so that his father & etc. won't find him(I honestly can't remember if he in game knew that The Farm was run by assassins and that the Templars exist).

Fast forward to like round about AC Brotherhood maybe? Also I am not entirely sure about Lucy, if she still was a template by the time Desmond stabbed her or if Juno (if I remember correctly) just didn't want her to interfere with her plan. Maybe Desmond has started to kind of consider her and the others as kind-of-friends-he-is-not-entirely-sure, but he is still wary of them, keeping them at a certain distance.

Either through coincidence, luck, the apple, Map, other Isu-bs or information from the assassin network, they find an old Isu-facility. Though accident, Desmond activates the facility and he and the others learn either by a until then dormant Isu-consciousness or through other means what this facility does.

They learn that it is a fabrication facility, to be exact, a human fabrication facility. The Isu started this project back when the humans began to rebel against them and it was supposed to 'replace' those who fled and rebelled against them. It was never finished and the only one of its kind. It was supposed to store 'souls' from deceased humans, so they can be 'reused' in new bodies, bc artificially constructing a soul is very difficult and heavily recourse, time and energy consuming. But the Isu couldn't ever get it to work properly, so it can only store 'Souls' who have some kind of Isu-'DNA'-Marker inside of them and the way how they are stored is like, they get pulled from the body and be dormant until 'reused' or they would just disperse. They are only able to be stored in their state of death, so technically they have all their 'memories' of their past life and the plan was for the memories to be wiped just before transferring them into a new body (which would be constructed in the facility, or at least that was the plan).

Maybe bc of a combination of his bleed, his current situation (mentally deteriorating; his lack of real emotional connection(at least that he is aware of) and wishing for someone to just be there for him, accepting him etc; the knowledge that the others kind of just do their job) and maybe a little bit of the feeling of impending doom he by accident starts the facility and either bc he doesn't register it or isn't sure what happened, he leaves and comes back maybe around two days later. He finds a tank/pod or whatever with a body inside of it(fully grown out but doesn't see the face). Now maybe he smashes the glass and gets the body out of there, it opens on its own or the one inside of the pod tries to break free(maybe succeeding). Either way, he gets the body out of the tank/pod and looks at the face and recognizes Altaïr. A reason why him could be because in the moment where Desmond accidentally started the facility, he has bled Altaïr (or as him), or thought about him in some other way and the facility is controlled via thoughts(but it can only be operated by someone who has at least a certain percentage of Isu-DNA, like in this case Desmond).

One path could be that Altaïr's souls wasn't wiped of his memories, bc the Isu couldn't fully implement this function or some kind of error occured or due to structural damage this part of the facility is too damaged to Funktion properly, so he still has all his memories from his previous life until his death. Or another idea would be that his memories would be partially wiped, bc of the same reasons but their effect would be a little different.

Desmond would form a emotional connection or attachment towards him, for example bc of his bleed, his loneliness. There is this little scene in my head, where Altaïr helps Desmond calm down, from either a heavy bleed episode or some kind of panic attack, where he ends up holding Desmond who clings to him like a life line. With the others he always tried to keep physical contact to a minimum, maybe bc it would make him extremely uncomfortable or it felt cold and emotionally distant, but Altaïrs touch in this moment is soft, warm, calming, which stands in stark contrast in comparison to everyone else. Desmond would then subconsciously seek his proximity again and again because Altaïrs presence would help him calm down and his bleed wouldn't be as strong.

How Altaïr would connect with Desmond I'm not really sure but ultimately he would try to help Desmond to the best of his ability and maybe through his knowledge with the apple and other Isu-artifacts or they find other ones and with some Isu-bs they prevent the eye from killing Desmond.

That would be the general gist in my head, but I have some other notes too:

The process of transferring a 'soul' from the 'storage' to the body could be either automated or manually. Maybe the 'soul' has to be pulled out of a basin or something like that and has to be put into the 'empty' body

The facility would only be able to construct one or maybe two bodies and transfer souls into them, before shutting down, either bc the power runs out or a cave in happens, rendering it completely unusable afterwards

Altaïr would probably try to take the others under his wing, kind of like in your 'Zero Eclipse' fic (bc tbh, I kind of really love this concept), after learning what happened to the assassins and how they are struggling. Additionally he definitely does not like William Miles for both his parenting skills and how he leads the assassins

And of course training them, or at least he would train Lucy and Desmond (bc hand to hand combat and close proximity :) )

Okay, so my thoughts are all over the place XD

I feel like this Isu facility could be the ‘start’ of the resurrection myth in AC.

And we can even tie the facility to the ‘Mead’ that sets up the appearances of Sages of those who participated it.

The second facility that was meant to wipe out the memories could have been Yggdrassil that was stolen by Odin and modified to be used by his kin instead.

If you want to mess with Altaïr further, his body could take some getting used to. He was reborn in his prime after all and Desmond approximate that he might the same age he had been when Desmond had been watching his memories

(Of course, if you want to make Altaïr in his 60s, I’m all in because that man was quite the silver fox as well)

Altaïr believed that he’s trying to get used to his body because he remembered dying as a 90+ year old man.

That could just be the case or… if you wanna screw with him…

Maybe his body is more Isu than human and the strange Isu-human hybrid body that the facility creates is also one of the reasons why the facility was abandoned.

Timeline-wise, we can go for Brotherhood and we have 2 options:

Option 1: instead of going to the Colosseum , they reached this facility instead because of some reason. We would have to think of a reason for this.

Option 2 is easier to implement. While they are running away from Rome after Vidic and his stooges came at the end of AC2, they had to go to a different path because they heard of a coded message that Templars are around the same route they were going to take. Lucy thinks something is wrong because she didn’t hear of this part of the plan.

Also… None of them knew who was the one that sent the coded message, all they know was that it was sent on Rebecca’s backup backup phone.

The detour leads them farther away from Monteriggioni and into another part of Italy where the facility was underground. They only hid in an abandoned mine because they heard some kind of chatter on a radio frequency they were listening into (turns out some locals were using it because one of their members’ son ran away from home) and Desmond felt something call for him there.

They were only meant to stay inside for the night then try to get to their next safe house (something Lucy insisted) but things go… haywire because of Desmond ‘accidentally’ turning on the device.

The soul part being a basin could be something similar to my idea of the Afterlife project in the Desmond is Zagreus’ Sage idea.

In that idea, soul is pretty much the memories and consciousness of a person in digital form. This is similar to Clay’s digital avatar in Revelation, only that these souls are in stasis. Maybe Clay even used the same way to upload himself in the Animus.

The basin in the facility could be a ‘middle ground’ that downloads the data of a person from the Afterlife project that still exists somewhere in the world, forever recording every single death of humans (or, if you wanna lower the ‘size’, any being with Isu DNA)

Lucy would probably try to hide the fact that she’s a Templar even while being trained by Altaïr. Altaïr is super sus of her but everyone keeps saying that she’s an ally and it doesn’t take Altaïr long to know that they wouldn’t believe him if he tells them that he believes she’s a spy.

Desmond might so he focused his attention on Desmond because Desmond never treated him like he needed to be handled with care as someone who had just woken up in this ‘new world’.

That’s how they start to grow closer. Both of them aiming for friendship but ending up in a more intimate relationship because of how easy it was for them to understand one another.

Even if Altaïr was born centuries before Desmond, Desmond’s upbringing on the Farm was too similar to his own in Masyaf that he knew the words Desmond wanted to hear.

The words he had hoped someone would tell him back then.

This could easily go for a ‘us versus the world’ setup if Altaïr isn’t able to connect with the rest of the team as well.

I read ‘might be able to construct one or two bodies’ and I’m like: counteroffer, Desmond accidentally uses the device again and this time, two more pods start working. Unfortunately, the facility did not have enough resources for both sooooo…

Desmond is now the accidental father of two young babies who may or may not have the memories of Ezio and an unknown ancestor of his (since he doesn’t know Ratonhnhaké:ton is in this one)

Instead he stares at Dean. He counts his freckles—as many as he can see, when Dean has his face half-buried into Castiel’s chest—and he trails his fingers along Dean’s arm.

“You know,” Dean grumbles, and Castiel freezes as if he’s been caught. “For a guy who just came back to life, you sure stare at me like I’m the one who’s gonna disappear.”

Castiel frowns. “I thought you were asleep.” It’s not an answer, but Dean hadn’t exactly asked a question.

“I could feel you watching me.” Dean tilts his head up, trying to make eye contact. Castiel avoids it. “What’s going on, Cas?”

He takes a deep breath and still doesn’t meet Dean’s gaze. He’s been vague, he’s danced around it, but now—he’s tired.

“I don’t want to watch you die again,” he replies, a hoarse whisper, and there’s a short shocked silence in which Dean pushes himself off of Castiel’s chest and onto one elbow.

“What?”

“Every night, Dean. I have to—watch you die, and I can’t do anything to stop it. That’s what the nightmare is.” 

Nightmare-Sam’s voice pops into his head, unbidden.

If Cas was here—

He’s not.

He has the lines memorized at this point.

Dean, real Dean, is still staring at him, expression unreadable in the darkness of their bedroom. “…I’m right here, Cas,” he starts, finally. Softly. “It’s just a nightmare. I’m not gonna die.”

Castiel turns to look at him, really look at him, for the first time. “Yesterday it was just a nightmare. But what if tomorrow—” he cuts himself off, frustrated. “Tomorrow it could be real, you could be really hurt, and I couldn’t—I couldn’t help.”

Dean just blinks at him. “Okay, well—how do I die?”

“What?”

“In your dream. How do I die?”

Castiel furrows his brows. “A hunt. A vampire.”

Dean snorts. “Cas, come on. A vamp isn’t gonna take me out.”

“It doesn’t.” Technically. “The rebar you’re impaled on does.”

“Ouch, okay.” Dean grimaces, and for a moment Castiel feels bad for going that far. “Okay, well. I ain’t dying on a vampire hunt, Cas, I can promise you that much.”

“I’m sure dream you said the same thing.”

This time, he actually rolls his eyes. “No offense to your brain, dude, but dream me sounds like an idiot.”

“That’s not the point.” Castiel narrows his eyes, actually a little irritated. “The point is I wasn’t even there. And even if I was—or am, assuming this is a similar real life scenario—I can’t do anything anymore.”

“Sam can’t do much against rebar either, and I still trust him with my life.”

“Except I could. And now I can’t. I—” It comes out harsher than intended, so Castiel cuts himself off. He swallows. He chooses his next works carefully. They probably still come out wrong. “I only know how to save you, Dean.”

Whatever dismissal Dean was planning—probably something along the lines of come on, dude, you’re putting way too much stake into a nightmare—dies at that. He stares at Cas for a long moment before abruptly turning over and turning on his bedside lamp.

Castiel frowns, pushes himself into a sitting position, and watches Dean pull open the drawer on his nightstand. He finally turns back, holding out a crumpled piece of paper. Castiel takes it.

He stares at it. It’s a job application.

“I got a job,” Dean explains, and when Cas looks back up at him he looks away, sheepish. “I mean—not that one, obviously, I never turned that one in, but, uh. A different one. Working on cars in town.”

Castiel, who has been looking back and forth between Dean and the paper, frowns. “You d—”

“I didn’t tell you, I know,” he replies in a rush. “I didn’t—I wanted to wait until I had something signed, you know? It’s still not official. But they called this morning and offered, so I guess it’s gonna be.”

It’s still not making sense.

“But what about hunting?”

Dean snorts. “What, a guy can’t have hobbies?” He pauses, then shrugs. Something in his demeanor shifts. “And, I mean—you know. With Sam all wrapped up in his archive project, and Chuck gone—there ain’t too many hunts in the first place.”

“Oh.”

“Yeah, so. You don’t have to worry about me dying on a vamp hunt, alright? Or any hunt.”

“Oh,” Castiel repeats. “For how long?”

Dean shrugs again. “I don’t know. Maybe forever, who knows? All I know is that I fought God, man. I deserve a break.”

“You did,” Castiel agrees. He smiles. “You do.”

“Damn right,” Dean grumbles, but he’s smiling too. He reaches out to take the job application back. “Can we sleep now?”

“Yes,” Castiel replies, but he makes no movement towards lying down again until Dean puts the application back into his nightstand, turns off the light, and rolls back over.

They settle back down—Castiel on his back, Dean lying half on top of him, ear against his heart. He has one hand splayed across Dean’s back and the other one finds Dean’s hand and holds on tight. He feels Dean smile against his chest as he squeezes back.

“Cas?” he whispers. “You do save me, you know. Every day.”

Castiel smiles. He leans down to press a kiss into Dean’s hair. “You deserve to be saved,” he reminds, and even though he knows Dean thinks it’s cheesy he’s too sleepy to care.

For the first time in a long time, he doesn’t have nightmares.

this is going to be fun and long so I’ll add a read more cut okay here we go:

I love how mysterious his character is. I know that sounds rather vague to start with but I’ll explain - just watching spooky month in passing you’d see bob as a cool ‘villain’ character; nods to his involvement with lila and the rest of the gang are introduced but if you don’t delve deeper it’s simply part of the story that hasn’t been revealed to you yet, you know? whereas bob is the one character who has past involvement with them that continues to hold a sense of mystery for a variety of reasons.

let’s take frank for comparison; for lack of better words, frank nabs children 😭 but he leaves skid and pump alone. not only that, he also gives them rides to where they need to be without bringing any harm to them. he actually prevents them from certain harm at times. this is probably because of frank’s past with lila and pump’s dad (shown in the portrait of them together on halloween when they were younger.) however, that then poses another question in regards to bob: why does he actively target lila and the kids instead? what happened in their past to evoke that? or does he simply target them because he knows them? I’ve read a lot about murderers eating their victims to maintain a sense of togetherness with them. they can become attached and the only way to settle out the attachment is to ‘become one’ with the victim. or is it even bob’s own conscious motive at all? he became...crazed after the police stopped him from killing lila which seemed out of character for him. the studied, purposive state he was in before seemed to just instantly disappear - what made him snap out of himself so hard? even his eyes changed colour.

this second point links with the first about mystery but it isn’t mystery of motives or past events in his life, it’s mystery of his physical/mental person. continuing to use frank, when comparing the physical appearance of frank and bob you’d typically see them to be of the same (or similar) age. however, in the halloween group photo, frank was a child and bob was an established adult. bob does look older than he did back then but really not much at all. it’s as if, at some point, his ageing came to a pause or slowed down. maybe he has been ageing slowly all his life for that matter.

I love how debatable his physical presence is, it makes him so interesting. so many sources of sm information label him as ‘human (presumably)’ like if that doesn’t catch your attention then I don’t know what will. to come nearer to a conclusion of this particular mystery we’d need more information about the cult. the only possibility I could think of for him being non human in some way would be through the cult. did he join later in life? was he already invested in the cult while owning boys and grills? the dude was shot and ran over by a car multiple times yet he still hauled himself up off the ground — I don’t think he’s really dead after tender treats. if he survived that much damage before the ‘final blow’ then there’s obviously something unnatural going on. whether he just can’t die on those terms (possibly because of cult involvement) or the cult then revives him again, I definitely don’t think he’s dead.

moving on to something much lighter that I love about him...candy! when he was first introduced in sm it was a funny distraction but now, after seeing how much he genuinely loves candy, it’s just too cute. this giant bear of man who drools at the thought of stabbing and eating literal people will drool even more at the sight of brightly coloured balls of candy. this goes hand in hand with the fact that he still does the spooky month dance in tender treats - despite his character having a very intimidating and unnerving stature, those little bits of his core personality still get to shine through. I think that’s why so many other people like him in the same way too.

he isn’t just a slasher character dropped down to enhance a story, he is an incredibly important part of the story and his (although bewildering) past and present have been built to show that. he isn’t mindless; he is very smart, he is calculated, he has little quirks like pausing for candy or wanting to join in with a dance before twirling his knife in his hand again. the fact that he isn’t mindless makes him scarier when he’s on the prowl and it’s awesome!

also I’m sorry but I do have to mention how much I love his actual design. pelo doodled the most attractive man and I fell right into the trap. he looks so warm to hug and so comfy to be with like that’s not fair...I want a bob hug...I used to worry that it was very ooc to think that bob would be able to maintain a relationship like that but it isn’t really - it would just take someone as unhinged as he is in reality, but this isn’t reality it’s fiction so uh *shrugs* I think he should cuddle me and let me squish his cheeks. he’d make a perfect yandere boyfriend 😌

Man, I wish Kishimoto didn't just drop the Hyuuga plot like he did after the Chunin exams. The way he ended it with Hiashi apologizing to Neji and then Neji just being friendly with Hinata/happier with his clan is so... empty to me.

I've seen posts pointing out the absurdity of Hizashi's death being painted as "for himself/freedom" and was his choice when the dude was most definitely going to die for the Main family anyway. Like, he just decided that his death for them wasn't going to be the hard way. He just accepted it.

Someone said Hiashi was emotionally manipulating Neji with his apology and I agree.

And then, as you and so many others pointed out, there's still slavery, curse marks and no equality within the Hyuuga clan. Neji just gets faux equality and that's it. That's the "beautiful change" of the Hyuuga clan. Neji isn't treated like a dog, trains with his uncle, doesn't wanna merk Hinata anymore, and then leaps to his death for her, a Main house member. Wow.

In my opinion, that apology, the dumbass fight with Naruto and training with Hiashi shouldn't have been enough to change Neji's outlook. Kind of sounds like the easy way out to simply make him another Konoha dog. He's just content with his shitty life afterwards and I hate it.

Neji is certainly smart enough to look at the context of his dad's death and go "....but he still died for Hiashi. A Main family member like his fate intended." And it's not that I wanted Neji to forever be pissed off with his life, I just wanted better for him and the other Branch members. But instead, he has the same life but just a wee bit better and he looks at it happily. WHY.

And as much as I hate Hinata's privileged, selfish ass, Neji didn't need to continue channeling all his rage towards the Main family onto her. Not for Hinata's benefit but because I'm not biased and know that she literally couldn't do anything at their young age about the slavery.

...but then again as they got older (i.e. teenagers), Hinata got worse (way more selfish acting and even more Naruto obsessed). So maybe Neji hating her again would've been alright cause I sure would've. He's still a fucking slave like so many others and she's not advocating for any change, she's just obsessing over a guy who barely remembers she exists and then has the nerve to call Neji "nii-san".

It was necessary for him to end it in such a vague way because it would be like opening a can of worms, there would have been no justice until the dismantling of the Hyuga clan -which will lead to the dismantling of the shinobi system, and that can’t be done if the objective is making NAruto thrive and get the recognition he sought for.

But why are we asking Neji, a thirteen-year-old boy, a slave, to be logical and don't hate Hinata when she's someone who benefits from his enslavement and position as a Main Family member? Why are we being so harsh on him for lashing out to her and not on her when she acknowledges the reason for his anger only to brush it off (almost mockingly, as well). We excuse Hinata's inaction because she was "too young", but isn't he also too young as to understand to whom he should be directing his anger?

Furthermore, Neji told her to forfeit multiple times and she refused each time -his monologue about her weakness wasn't untruthful and it isn't something he hadn't heard before (the Hyuga clan's dogma literally educated him to believe that something as destiny exists, since because Hizashi was born after Hiashi, he was bound to obey him or get punished for his disobedience, as was his son). So how come is cruel of Neji to say those things when he believes them to be true because it's what happened to his father and to him? He can't force his own destiny because he'll never be allowed to disobey Hiashi -or Hinata.

He lashes out towards her because she's the only one there and who is in the same context as him. He wouldn't be able to touch Hiashi even if he wanted to (which he does, he also hates Hiashi), because not only Hiashi is the current leader, but he's also an experienced Jönin. And let's not forget that he was marked on her birthday -meaning, he's her slave.

So maybe Neji hating her again would've been alright cause I sure would've. He's still a fucking slave like so many others and she's not advocating for any change, she's just obsessing over a guy who barely remembers she exists and then has the nerve to call Neji "nii-san".

But again, why would she advocate for a change when she's not interested in such a thing happening? Nothing interests her outside her love for Naruto and her need to get acknowledged by him. Furthermore, she gets to have bodyguards; and she doesn't seem uncomfortable with the thought of them being punished if she gets hurt (to the point where she jumps in to fight non-other than Pein -who obliterated Konoha on his own).

fuck you. I actually enjoyed them. I enjoyed this movie. i enjoy silly little missions like these. there's so many good moments in this movie.

Captain Korega. need I say more. he was a literal warning to Kakashi because THAT COULD HAVE BEEN HIM. HE COULD HAVE HAD HIS ARM BLOWN OFF BUT KOREGA DIES INSTEAD. I LOVED THIS BIT IN PARTICULAR. sad that Korega died, but oh my gosh it was so good

this whole beach scene is so fucking good

Captain Korega dying as a warning. the dude who was fighting Kakashi (and who killed Korega) was so fucking deadly and was playing with his food. the whole team getting a bit cut up bc they hadn't realised they were poisoned until Sakura realised their movements were slowing down. Lee and Naruro getting fucking pummelled. Kakashi having to fucking *lift* Michiru and *jump* away with him. idk how heavy he is but just look at him. big friendly loveable guy. I actually feel bad for Michiru in this movie. but his ex wife is sorta right abt him (I only vaguely remember their convo)

I just love this movie

now that I'm thinking about it, it really is my second favourite nart movie. Will of Fire always has a special place in my heart. (and the stupid ranking gave it 6/11 🙄 at least it's above Blood Prison, but it does not deserve to be outranked by Bonds >:/)

Lost Tower is okay. one of the better ones. it's similar to Blood Prison for me in the way that there's a few good moments in this movie and I'll go back and watch them, but this movie overall is much more enjoyable. BP is not. it's quite boring. BP is only good for the after credits scene and the bit where they have to round up all the prisoners (specifically Killer Bee, and the contrast from loud ass fighting to Kakashi's chill ass comment)

Lost Tower would he better if it had more Kakashi bc he's just There. somewhere. off completing his side of the mission. which he's for some reason doing alone. in quite the dangerous place now that I'm thinking about it why'd they leave him alone and have all the adults that can actually fend for themselves together what the fu k

the end of Lost Tower is funny for the tiny Kakashi being punched over the head by Yamato. also I would've liked to see more of an interaction between Naruto and young Kakashi. I want to see how Naruto would react to angry ass child who cares not for basically anyone else to chill adult that will protect his comrades no matter what. I had to write a fic about it for myself just to have that.
