Today I will present my thesis on why I think Juleka and Adrien should have been best friends.
Tumblr media
1.They have(platonic) chemistry
Most of times good compatibility isnt about characters having the same traits, but having traits that cumpliment eachother. Complementary traits often result in good dynamics, fun to watch. Now, miraculous have some pretty fun character dynamics like Chat/Ladybug, Marinette/Kagami, Adrien/Plagg but I believe Adrien/Juleka has the potential to be one of the best among them. Hear me out.
Adrien is an extroverted person molded by his father into a polite and pristine façade never being allowed out or having indeoendent thoughts.
Juleka is the daughter of a pirate rockstar(Anarka) who was born with all the freedom she could want, but has a shy and introverted personality despite that.
Besides loving the "extrovert adopts introvert" trope, I belive their interaction would be beneficial for their development, with Adrien helping Juleka to come out of her shell by teatching her his dorkish ways and Juleka showing Adrien what freedom really means( I am 100% certain Juleka would convince Adrien to do a Tattoo, paint his hair, pierce his nose or some shit only to flip out Gabriel). They could really understant eachother, help eachoter overcome their fears and give support.
(it is important to say that when I meant they have good chemistry, i do not mean romantic chemistry. Characters of opposite sex are allowed to interact and have good relations without it necessarily meant to be romantic. That is a taboo on animation and would also be pretty cool to chalenge.)
2.Juleka wants to model
Juleka's dream being revealed as someone who wants to model professionally, her having a best friend who is a literal supermodel would be the ideal setup to give her a "in" into the fashion world, and would also give Adrien someone on his corner in the industry, maybe someone to give him advice and support when dealing with the wheight of his schedule, or when being pushed around left and right by Lila or his dad.
3.It would explain things story wise
It was always weird to me how Adrien always shows up at the boat for Kitty Section practice. I mean I guess he is around since Juleka invites the whole class to show up, but its never actually a reason to why HE should show up. People are always wondering "hey where is adrien?" even when other people like Kim or Nathaniel are also not there. Adrien bring juleka's bff would make this more plausible because "cmon he is my bestie where the fuck is he?".
4.Chat Noir and Purple Tigress
The dynamic of Chat Noir and Purple Tigress was cute. Chat being carefree and flirty and Juleka being kind of stiff and awkward and fumbling against his extroverted approach all while being a lowkey girlboss on the side just gave a whole new fun to the dynamic. I can just picture Juleka awkwardly trying to make a cat pun and Chat being lit on fire by it.
5. Adrien might have gotten a home at the boat
Ive seen hundreds of post-hawkmoth defeat fics, and almost all of them we have something in common: Adrien gets adopted by the dupain-chengs and go live with them. Now, there is nothing wrong with that, Sabine and Tom are great and they would definitly help Adrien in a moment of need but the imolications of this... it really striked me odd. living with your girlfriend's parents? Sneaking into her room every night to cuddle at 15 and they being ok with it? really? Thats just weird bro.
Now, Adrien at the boat makes sense. Methinks Anarka would be more the willing to adopt Adrien on the spot. She is carefree, doesnt seem to be caugh up by details and seems to be fairly ok with a bunch of teens hanging around her deck all day. Adrien is a musician and fairly polite, so he checks out all the boxes to be her son. Besides, imagine how Adrien's chacracter would develop given the chance to live freely like Juleka and Luka does. He could develop more his "wild side" and learn how to be more confortable with himself.
6. Get to see Adrien wingmaning Julerose
Now, we all know Adrien Chat Noir is our resident dork in town. However, I feel we dont get to see it much. I imagine him trying to help Juleka woo Rose or giving tips to flirt would be very funny and amusing to see, and give him much more characterization. Besides, Juleka and Rose's relationship would be way more spicy. I mean they are cute but the whole "lowkey supportive gf" thing they always have going on gets stale pretty fast, and dont five much insight on how their relationship is really like. LET THEM FLIRT FOR GODS SAKE!

I see the double magical girl isekai AU. I can do you all one better. Double Isekai AU, BUT WITH MIRACULOUSES BABY! 🤩. FOR EXAMPLE Yuuki and Orpheus somehow have the miracle box and they are also have the ladybug and cat miraculous. And they bring said miraculous to twst(future miraculous users anyone. Plus am I the only one who wants to see Ortho with a miraculous in this AU) aka the one AU Orpheus can still kick bad guy’s butt and have super powers!
ANON DON'T DO THIS TO ME, PLEASE! I HAVE A WHOLE PILE OF INDIVIDUAL MLB X TWST AUS-
Anyways new MLB Au, people :3
Also I deny some of cannon MLB shit because it's like... So contradicting... :'3
No senti-monster Agreste bullshit. Like this is an Au so I can mess up the cannon as much as I want. Take it more as the movie cannon, bc from some summaries I heard around, the movie is absolutely a perfect fit for this Au :3
You said future heroes of Paris and I took that LITERALLY.
Yuuki and Orpheus, but they are the kids of Marinette and Adrien. (Yuulia and Otto too)
Yuulia was planned, Yuuki was planned as well, Orpheus just spontaneously got adopted and Otto was not planned at first but like... Once the news are in, everyone is acting like this was planned for years.
Marinette is a successful fashion designer and Adrien is both her personal model and a modest baker. This man LOVES to bake. It's his passion and his wife makes him personalised aprons or work uniform.
Yuulia showed interest in baking, so the bakery has a heir. U-Ub
Orpheus is a fashion guru on his own. Man would be out for BLOOD if he ever catches his siblings in something less than fashionable. So Marinette knows that at least that passion was definitely inherited from her.
Yuuki... Well... Yuuki is definitely the more feral out of the 3, definitely took that from her father. But they are a fencing prodigy and a proud genderless pal who can rock crocs with socks as long as Orpheus doesn't catch wind of it. -3-;
They would also have loving grandparents. Like Sabine and Tom are very happy to see their house brimming with kids when the family is visiting. For Gabe... Dunno man, I'd say he had a redemption arc, but still the kids don't seem to be that fond of him. He tries to be a good parent and thankfully, Orpheus and Yuulia seem to be more open about it. (Yuuki is just too chaotic to handle for Gabriel)
There is also Uncle Felix from London who shows the kids how to do crimes party tricks! He's the chill uncle. Aunt Kagami is also super cool and teaches the kids fencing. (although at first she almost dropped each of them when they were little. Her kid holding privileges were revoked)
Now for the miraculous repartition~
I'm going to say, like in my MLB mild au series on Ao3, that the ladybug could only fix damage inflicted by the holder, while the cat can break all the curses/power effects inflicted by another Miraculous. They both can purify in here tho. That way both are not overpowering each other.
Of course, Yuulia was at first the ladybug holder, but she had to attend college in another state this year, so she had to revoke the position. She has the horse miraculous instead(in the comic I drew her with glasses, so I guess it's a pretty neat fir) She sometimes has spontaneous visits, or steals some baked goods. :'3
Next in line were the 'twins'. Yuuki was absolutely a perfect fit for Plag. And while Orpheus was a more indirect fighter, Mari felt like he needed to work a bit on his confidence. Still he was called Ortho by his family, more as a nickname. So he gets the ladybug miraculous. He's at least smart enough to not throw the lucky charm in the enemy's face (Yuulia, we looking at u) But, with the new persona he is indeed more confident. He has a few times where that confidence is easily tared down, but ya know, great! :3
In here, the butterfly and peacock are both fixed and in the box, so the villains this time are either petty criminals or other miraculous holders from another boxes. As such there could be a similar one to the butterfly, or different ones who just heard about the Paris shenanigans and of course, wanted more power.
Here's also when we get our fav trope: the Isekai. :3
Of course, it's via a mirror, not a villain. And it's in the Dupon-Cheng-Agreste (you choose) House, so like both the parents are absolutely terrified since their 2 kids just started high-school and they were kidnapped by a magic mirror, with the miracle box to boot.
Cue waking up in coffins. The first instinct was to transform, of course Yuuki desintegrating their coffin lid while Orpheus had his blown by Grim.
Watch Grim go to surprise when he gets caught in a yo-yo and 2 masked people in wierd costumes are literally talking where the 'possessed object is' or things in between.
But Grim gets free, so we still get that epic chase. Crowley intervents and he gets slapped with a stick in the face! Yay! :D
Since they were throughly reached by their parents, timer wasn't really a problem for the 2. What was a problem instead, was the fact that they had to keep with them the miracle box. (stuffed in Yuuki's special pockets, ofc) And with Grim breaking havoc, it was really REALLY hard to not pull the dragon miraculous out and just put out the fire the easy way out. Nope! They had to be smart!
So Yuuki wacks the shit out of Grim. They get accidentally collared by Riddle and we're seconds away from waking the redhead too. :'3
Just a lot of back and forth and the mirror deciding that yep, these bitches magicless. (the miraculous magic was foreign and also concealing Orpheus's magic, so the mirror got fooled. :'3)
Cue prologue, but with a lot of unnecessary violence and Orpheus palm-facing all the way to the moon and back. Yay! The power of friendship and all that crap! :'D
For the school to easily understand that the hell is up with these 2 wierd students, it's lied around that the 2 wierd people from the entrance ceremony dissappeared and these 2 were just students that were unrepartisated. No one could remember ALL the mfs that were sorted that chaotic night, so they bought that up. Crowley is the only one who knows and uses that shit as blackmail. :'3
Oh and Adeuce at the mine incident in the prologue. Great! Their parents are gonna lose their shit! :')
Chapter 1 and Ace definitely brings up the possibility of using a miraculous against Riddle in the duel. Like PLEASE let them win against that shortie~
Both Yuuki and Ortho refuse, since they have magic, like go and figure it on their own. You actually have powers that are not influenced by a 1 time use or your skill in winging it. Plus you also have some great variety! Like DUDE-
1 overBlot later and Yuuki with Orpheus's alter egos make it through the rumors as NRC's masked heroes. So great everyone thinks it's someone that has magic and not these 2 magicless dumbasses that absolutely hyped each other to snort rose paint. (Yuuki ended up in the infirmary, but for those 50 madols from their already shared allocation, it was worth it)
Chapter 2 has Orpheus racking his brain SO MUCH over the incidents. Like he's all over this and having a whole whiteboard like in that meme with the nuts dude.
Meanwhile Yuuki just stumbles upon a convo in between Ruggie and some savanaclaw students who know what's up and as such figured out the whole goddamn thing. But it's fun watching Orpheus feret about it so much. :'3
In the end, Yuuki is hanged up from the ceiling by the ladybug Yo-yo. :'v
Chapter 3 and we get the aqua potions introduced! Along with the fox miraculous, used by Orpheus to make them invisible and sneak in the museum without the twins spotting them. Just to be safe, Adeuce, Grim and Jack were used as sacrifice lambs. :'3
In the Azul battle, we also get Yuuki with the Ox, just to mess with him. Get hammered! >:3
Chapter 4 has Yuuki and Orpheus wishing they had the horse miraculous. But unfortunately, Yuulia still has it with her, back in America.
But, this time, we get the dragon entering through! Mostly to escape.
Then we have overBlot Jamil! The big reveal of his schemes and the betrayal that has Kalim in shambles.
And we get the butterfly this time. Wielded by Orpheus, while Yuuki got the rooster, using it so they could all get faster back. Orpheus used the butterfly to try and resonate with Kalim and turn his negative feelings into power and the hope to save Jamil and fix the situation.
Anyway we punch Jamil in the face! Yay! :D
Book is is a book that for the majority of time Orpheus has his dramatic couch moment because how come Adeuce surpass him in his specialty(dance)?! Yuuki was great at fencing, while Yuulia did have a few medals in gymnastics.
In this book, it is revealed that Orpheus was a prodigy in competitive dancing. More like Yuuki telling to Grim why her lil brother is weeping like a primadona on the dorm couch. He's doing this for the drama at this point. Let him have it. :'3
In here it's also revealed that the Dupan-Cheng and Bourgeois rivalry is still alive and kicking. Chloé happened to have twins the same age as Yuuki and Orpheus. And while the mothers were now on actually good terms, leaving all that petty bartender aside like adults, the kids? Hooo Boi, the kids are a whole different story. The Bourgeois twins are the main bullies for Orpheus, while Yuuki is their natural enemy. It's not like Orpheus doesn't rile them up as well. Adrien was called one day to the principal office in middle school because Yuuki bit one of the twins, while the other twin put gum in Orpheus's hair. Oh, Chloé had a laughing fest while Adrien profusely apologised for the misunderstanding.
So the overBlot happens... :3
And also Yuuki reveals that their friend, horni boi, was actually THE Malleus Draconia.
NRC lose to one vote for RSA and despite all the expectations, Orpheus punches first the French He-man. Yuuki is very proud. -w-
Chapter 6 comes and by this point Orpheus knew he could do magic without a miraculous. But still... He opted to follow Rook with the miraculous on, much like Yuuki. Epel thought it was absolutely awesome that the 2 NRC heroes are partnered up with him in order to catch the blonde generic IKEA lamp hair guy. :3c
Oh, Orpheus is not ready for the following bandwagon. One thing that happens to the miraculouses due to his young age, but still very intensive control, is that when Orpheus loses his cool completely, his timer gets activated if he used his special power. Which he did, when Charons attacked them on the ice then.
So as the deemed 'leader' of the group and also as Orpheus had his full fire hair when using the miraculous, Idia reserves some extra talk to him, which he would've loved to, but right now it's absolutely the worst moment. :'3
Yep... Idia also finds out. The lil secret. And Orpheus is trying to handle the whole 'congrats, you're actually from a cursed family that is controlling the magic FBI'. Like it was fucked up on so many layers and poor Orpheus had a very hard time coming around it.
Thankfully, in here, there is Tikki as a mediator, so Idia has a far more gentle approach upon everything. It helps a lot with calming down both parts and just trying to function and both wrap their heads around the whole situation.
Meanwhile our dear bby Ortho is trying to cause an apocalypse. Ya know... Just a tiny bit of crime. :3
So, of course, this prompts Orpheus to bring again the butterfly miraculous. But this time, he trusts Idia with it. It was a bit of a mental gymnastics, but ya know, there had to be someone who kept all the tower teams interconnected. Orpheus promises to just be a guide through this, but he also needs to use the ladybug miraculous if they wanted less of a damage to be done.
Meanwhile Yuuki is strangling phantoms. What a fun Sunday activity! :3
So we have this time an epic team of akumas fighting the Phanthom titans. Like don't tell me that doesn't sound cool! :v
After that, Idia does return the miraculous, but wants just to catch up with Orpheus and both of them to try and figure all of this out. Still, Orpheus had to go to NRC and Ortho had to be rebuild.
Cue after the whole thing is over, the 3 Shroud Bois trying to catch up with one another. Yuuki is also included since siblings are siblings (plus if any of the 2 hurt Orpheus, they are getting yeeted into the sun)
And for book 7... Mmmm I'll go with the whole separation route. Like Yuuki and Idia are caught in the dream world whole Orpheus and Ortho need to go to STIX and figure how to punt Malleus faster. :3
That would be all! :v

Dedication
Miraculous fluff month 2018 prompt #5: Dedication
Adrien wants to make Marinette a scarf so he goes looking for some help from the Dupain-Chengs. AO3 | FF
Sabine looks up when she hears the bell at the door ring. Ready to greet a new customer, she puts on her smile and starts “Welcome to Tom &.. Oh! Adrien, hi honey, how are you? ”
“I’m fine Mrs. Cheng, how are you?”
“I’m doing well dear, thank you for asking. What brings you to our fine establishment? Are you looking for Marinette? I’m afraid she just stepped out for a delivery but you are welcome to wait for her upstairs.”
Adrien looks embarrassed, like he is trying to get something off his chest and has no idea how to go about it. Finally, mustering up his courage, he grips his backpack strap and says, “Actually, I wanted to talk to you, if that’s ok?”
Sabine blink, a little taken aback but smiles nonetheless, trying to ease a bit of the anxiety she could feel radiating off of the young man.
“Of course Adrien, what can I do for you?”
Adrien takes a breath and reaches down into his backpack, carefully extracting a familiar looking blue scarf from it.
“You see, Marinette made me this a couple of years ago. I love it, it’s very soft and warm and makes me think of her whenever I use it…” Adrien smiles, stroking the soft yarn of the well used scarf. Sabine remembers when Marinette was making it, she was adamant that it had to be perfect and flawless since it was going to be a present for a ‘special someone’.
“I wanted to ask, ” Adrien continues, “if at all possible, could you teach me to knit?, I really want to make her one but I’m afraid I have no idea how to and… well, Marinette is so amazing I just want her to have something that hopefully makes her smile, the way this one does to me.”
Sabine feels her heart melt a little, this boy really cares for her daughter. She gives him a gentle smile and says “Of course! I’d love to teach you but I’m afraid you’re asking the wrong person.”
Adrien’s expression falls and she rushed to explain, not wanting to make him feel like his request was being denied.
“The person you want is Marinette’s father, Tom”
“Tom?”
“Yes, he is the knitting genius in the family, followed closely by Marinette, I just never picked up the habit, don’t really have the patience for it I’m afraid. Give me one moment, I’ll call him over”
Sabine turns around and looks at her husband, who is doing a remarkable job at pretending to knead a ball of dough. She walks up to him and puts a hand on his shoulder, leaning in to whisper to him “I assume you heard everything, ” he looks a bit sheepish “you want to take over this one?”
“Yes, of course ” he leans down to kiss his wife’s forehead, “Can you keep an eye on the oven? The loaves in there should be ready soon”
Sabine nods, grabs his collar before he can straighten up for a quick kiss of her own then moves further into the back, closer to the oven to look at the timer.
Tom smiles at his wife then turns around, walking to the front of the bakery to stand in front of Adrien.
“So, what’s this about wooing my daughter with a homemade scarf?”
Adrien blushes furiously and starts stammering “It- It’s not like that! I mean, Marinette is amazing a beautiful and I’m thankful she picked me as her boyfriend and I just want to see her smile and make her happy and-”
Tom can’t help but laugh at this, they we’re both so easy to tease, he would miss this awkward teenage years once they were gone. He puts a hand on Adrien’s shoulder to try and stop his rambling “Relax son, I understand.”
Adrien takes a deep breath to try and calm himself then looks up at Tom. “Can you teach me? Please?”
Tom pretends to think, pulling a exaggeratedly serious face while humming “I don’t know.. Do you think you can handle the responsibility, that comes from wielding the knitting needles?”
Adrien smiles, being around Marinette enough that he learned to pick up on the playful tone her father was using.
“Yes! I promise to only use my knitting powers for good”
“Good good, don’t want you to turn around and become one of those yarn bomber rapscallions that are running around Paris lately.” Tom sneaks a quick glance at his wife who is doing her best to hide a mischievous giggle hidden behind her hand.
“No no,I swear I’ll be good!”
Tom smiles and wraps his arm around Adrien and gives him a gentle shake “Alright then, let’s get started, you have a lot to learn!”
Adrien beams up a Tom, barely able to contain his excitement.
Over the course of the next few weeks Adrien starts taking covert knitting lessons at the bakery with Sabine running interference for Marinette.
Tom was a gentle teacher, explaining what he did wrong in detail, taking time to show him how to improve and celebrating his progress.
Slowly, the scarf took shape. Only to be unraveled and remade at the slightest imperfection, Adrien wanted his scarf to be perfect, much like Marinette did when she was making his.
Finally, the scarf was done. It was a lovely shade of pink. Adrien held it in his hands, marveling at the payoff for all his hard work.
“It’s perfect… ” Adrien turns around to look into the proud expression Tom was sporting. “Thank you so much!”
“No, thank you, son, Marinette is going to love it”
“You really think so?” Adrien says excitedly, holding the scarf to his chest.
“Of course! She’s gonna talk about it non-stop, it will make her week when you decide to give it to her” Tom says, patting the young man in the back.
“I hope so!” Adrien looks at his watch and stands up, “I have to go, again, thank you so much I had a lot of fun making this”
Sabine stands up to walk Adrien out while Tom puts away the supplies they had been using. He faintly hears his wife tell Adrien to come visit for diner some other time.
Once everything is back in order Tom turns around to receive his wife at the door with a hug.
Sabine sinks into the hug, they both stand there, enjoying the moment and each others company.
After some time, Tom leans down and asks, “How did the pictures come out?”
Sabine giggles “They came out great, I already added them to the box of memories we’re keeping for their wedding”
Tom smiles, giddy with the prospect of seeing those two, years from now, blushing up to their ears when confronted with the collection of adorable pictures he and his wife had been safekeeping. It would be so good.
I’m trying to participate in @miraculousfluffmonth 2018, I can’t promise to do all the prompts (or that I’ll do them in order) but Imma try my best. Wish me luck!

A part 2 idea for 'Birds of a Feather' but only IF you wanna do it. Dick is visiting his sister a few months later, DNA was tested for both and confirmed, an Akuma (Lila) attack happens and is targeting Mari, Dick runs off to become Nightwing but Tikki appears and needs his help (this is how they learn of each other identities), he becomes a 'ladybug', wins the fight but watches in horror as Lila pushes Mari off the high building they're on. He saves her though but both are shaken and crying.
I’ll Catch You When You Fall
Previous
It was official then, he had found his baby sister and Dick couldn’t be happier!  They had taken a blood test just to be safe after the whole circus event, and he was so happy that she was safe and that she was saved before even worse things could happen to her after she had been taken away from him.  Tom and Sabine seemed like absolutely amazing parents, especially because they said that he could eat as many of the baked sweets as he wanted once the bakery was closed.  It would be terrible to just throw away all of those amazing treats.  His family were also very happy that they had found each other, it was a very emotional time to say the least.
It had been about four months since their reunion.  He had asked her if she wanted to return with him and since he was a legal adult with a well paying job, she could live with him.  She said that she couldn’t as she had built strong ties and memories here.  She loved Tom and Sabine and saw them as her parents and she wasn’t ready to leave them yet.  He understood and Dick had made sure to keep daily contact with her.  So here he was, about to surprise his baby sister with his return to her city.  He was practically skipping down the streets when he froze at the sound of a deafening explosion.  He knew what this meant, it was time to get the proof they needed that Paris was in trouble and needed the Justice League’s help.
He couldn’t get into his Nightwing suit as he was only to do recon—though he brought it just in case—but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t help the people around him.  He ran as quickly as he could toward the explosion in hopes of being able to evacuate the people in the area.  The fighting and explosions seemed to get worse, and all Dick could think about if his little sister was okay.
Anxiety coursed through him as so many different scenarios passed through his mind.  Maybe she was trapped in the rubble.  Or maybe she was blasted by the explosion.  His mind wandered back to another one of his younger siblings who had also died in an explosion.  He had made up his mind then.
Quickly he ran through the streets till he found a private and secret place that he could turn into Nightwing, but right before he could even remove his shirt something flew up to him with great urgency.
“Are you Richard Grayson?”
The creature asked frantically, its eyes darting around them.  Dick studied the being with a sharp glare.
“That depends, what are you and why do you need to know?”
“I’m Tikki, I am a kwamii, the being that gives Ladybug her powers.  Ladybug is in trouble and is unable to transform!  She told me to come to you, she said that you would be able to save Paris.”
Dick stared at the being in confusion.  How did Ladybug know about him, or know that he was even here?!  He thought back to the pictures of Ladybug he had seen, and his thoughts traveled back to his sister who was probably in trouble or worse…then it clicked and Dick’s eyes widened.  Oh no.  His sister was compromised!  Just then he noticed the small being was holding a pair of earrings in its small arms.
“Alright, thank you for trusting me.”
He said as he carefully took the earrings and put them on.  Being a model finally came in handy for hero work.
“Alright, what do I have to do?”
He said with all of his Nightwing determination and vibrato.
“Before you transform you need to know that your main weapon will be a yo-yo or some kind of grapple.  You might have other weapons depending on your preference.  When the akumitized object is broken you have to capture and purify the butterfly when it emerges.  There is another hero that will help you named Chat Noir.  In order to transform, all you need to say is ‘Tikki spots on’!”
Dick nodded and took a quick breath.  He prayed this wasn’t some kind of trick, bats and magic rarely mixed well.
“Tikki spots on.”
{Thank you CyberGeist for the description}
Suddenly a pink light surrounded him and he watched as a suit formed around him.  Black material hugged him skintight just like his Nightwing suit yet somehow it was even more flexible and strong from the kevlar weave. Red circles on either side of his torso gave his front and back a strange sharp hourglass shape and a red chest plate lined in black sat snuggly on his chest connecting across his back under a set of thin wings. A belt much like his own laid across his hips in bright red and his calves were encased in knee high red boots that blended seamlessly into the rest of the suit. The collar of the suit was high all the way to his chin and had a small insignia resting in the hollow of his throat, the same symbol as the two earrings in his right ear. The earrings were now small dangling interconnected charms that hung from studs in his right ear, so different from Marinette’s earrings, yet so similar at the same time. One charm was black with red spots, the other red with black spots. His yoyo was different to, it had two handles like a jump rope, the handles were similar to his escrima, and it hummed and crackled with electricity just as strong as his own little toys. It made him think of a cross between his grappling hooks and a set of nunchucks actually....really really long nunchucks
Dick stared at the suit with great appreciation and quickly grabbed the nunchucks and threw it up into the air and used it like Catwoman used her whip to get up to the buildings.  He flew through the sky and looked for where the chaos was happening.  He followed it to the top of the Eiffel Tower and saw the Akuma in warm fiery colors fighting the other black clad hero.  Dread filled him when he saw Marinette trapped near the fight in a small cage made of fire.  She looked panicked, no doubt PTSD from before, he remembered her saying that she had claustrophobia from being trapped in the container.  He watched and analyzed the situation as he tried to find the best time and place to strike.
Chat Noir hit the villain and he watched as she stumbled back. Now.  He laughed from his perch as grabbed the red and black flaming hair comb and quickly smashed it to the ground.  A black butterfly flew into the air.  He threw his weapon at the butterfly and watched as the butterfly phased through the end and turned white as it flew away.  As he let out a sigh of relief he turned around only to see the girl who had been the villain push Marinette off of the ledge and his sister’s scream.  Chat Noir called out his name, but Dick launched himself right after her.
Memories passed through his mind of two other people that were the most important in his life falling down down down.  Not again, please never again!  Tears fell out both of their eyes as they fell and got closer and closer to the ground.  He just got her back!  He can’t lose his baby sister again!  He just got her back!!!
Marinette reached her hand out for him and he quickly grabbed it and threw the whip into the air letting it latch onto one of the rails.  Marinette gasped for air as she held onto her older brother for dear life.  She couldn’t stop shaking as tears fell out of her eyes.  Forgotten and blurry memories of people she had once known flashing before her eyes in a similar situation, except no one had caught them from their fall.
“It’s okay.  I’ve got you.  I won’t let you go.”
Dick’s airy voice whispered against her ear.  She could feel his own tears falling against her clothes.  She could feel then lower to the ground as the magic of the rope extended for them until their feet were firmly planted on the ground.
“I’ve got you baby sister.  I’ll always catch you when you fall.”
Dick whispered against her head before he placed a small kiss against her crown.  Marinette leaned closer against him and whispered,
“Thank you.”
Dick slowly pulled back and gave her a watery smile,
“Go home, I’ll be there in a bit.  Just let me handle something.”
Marinette sniffled and quickly wiped her eyes and gave him a sharp nod before she ran towards the bakery.  Dick watched her figure disappear with a small smile, but once she was gone a scowl took over and he was moving back to the top of the tower.  Good, the girl was still there, but it seemed like the other hero had left.
“Oh thank goodness!  I knew you’d come back to help me down!”
Dick sent her one of his darkest scowls and watched with glee as she cowered back.
“I’ve been told that as an Akuma you are not willfully hurting the people.”
“It’s true!  I don’t even remember what happened while I was like that!”
The girl wailed in a sharp high-pitched (obviously fake) voice.  Dick rolled his eyes.
“But you weren’t under anyone's control when you pushed that girl off the tower, were you?”
The girl shrunk back,
“I-it was an accident!”
She wailed, fake tears falling down her cheeks,
“I have a disorder where I can’t control my movements.”
Dick nodded thoughtfully,
“I see.”
He replied as if he believed her.  She seemed to perk up at that.  Then his glare returned as he growled out,
“I see that you are a liar.  Now I’m going to take you down the tower and turn you over to the law for attempted murder.”
The girl looked shocked and horrified.  She glared at him and looked as if she were ready to fight.
“You don’t have any proof.  They will believe me over you and there is nothing you can do about it.”
She said with her own glare, finger pointed at him.
Dicks smirk was lethal.  A shiver ran down Lila’s spine as before she could blink he had moved and she was pinned with her hands behind her back.
“I think the cameras up here are proof enough.”
He whispered as he tied her hands with his rope.  And with that he jumped down letting the girl scream in terror, a smirk resting on his lips as he let himself freefall before catching himself and swinging through the city.
___________ Marinette knawed at the nail of her finger, a nervous habit she had picked up a while ago.  She thought she had lost it, what with being Ladybug, but apparently not if the nubs that were her fingernails said anything.  There was a small knock against her trapdoor that caused her to nearly jump out of her skin, but breathed out a sigh of relief when she merely saw her brother jump through in his normal civvies.  Before she could even open her mouth in greeting or attempted explanation she was wrapped up into his tight embrace in which she quickly returned with little hesitation.  It took everything in her to not break down crying because she couldn’t let Hawkmoth get to her, so she couldn’t herself process the fear and sadness that welled inside of her at the thought of her near death experience.
She felt Dick push aware slightly, tears still running down his cheeks as he began to tilt her side to side and went through almost an entire medical examination to make sure that she hadn't been hurt.  She understood and let him do whatever tests he needed to feel confident that nothing had happened.  Once he was sure he let out a sigh of relief, tipped her head a little, and placed a loving kiss to the crown of her head.  She leaned into the show of affection and was happy that when he pulled away he leaned his forehead against hers while he ran a gentle hand through her loose hair.
“Sora mea dragă.”
Marinette smiled at the familiar words.  It was true that she couldn’t remember what they meant exactly, but she could feel the amount of affection that they conveyed.
“I’ve got you.  I won’t ever let you fall.  I promise, I’ll always be here to catch you.  Okay?”
She couldn’t help it anymore, the walls that she had built, secured, and had made as impenetrable as possible toppled, and all there was nothing stopping the flood of emotions from escaping any longer.  Tears burned their paths down her cheeks as sniffles turned into sobs and shaking turned into full body tremors.  She leaned into her brother as much as possible and let him lead her to the floor where she curled up into his lap and let him hold her while she wept.
Stop!  You’ll attract an Akuma!  How can you be so stupid?!  Why are you acting this way?!  Stop!  Stop it now!
She did her best to tune out the voices screaming in her head.  She had seen the way her brother had fought while using the miraculous.  He had to have been doing something similar in Gotham.  He had to be one of the vigilantes!  As soon as he had told her where he had been and the things that had gone on there she made it her business and top priority to look into it because maybe she and Tikki could help.  She had learned lots about the heroes from online posts and when she came across a semi-decent photo of the hero Nightwing in Blüdhaven, the similarities between the two hit her like a truck.  So if she was akumatized, since she still didn’t have the miraculous back, and her brother was obviously trained to be a hero, there would be a good chance that he would be able to stop her before anything major happened.
She could feel her shirt become wet as he laid his head against her shoulder, and slowly she let her thoughts finally die down.  Right now she was with her brother, they were safe now.  He had caught her, he would protect her and she would protect him.  They weren’t going to lose each other ever again.  With that thought she let herself just be, letting her emotions finally go with her big brother there to help and protect her.  When she was old enough to leave Paris, maybe moving to Gotham with her big brother wouldn’t be so bad.

Summary:
“Cats know how to obtain food without labor, shelter without confinement, and love without penalties.” - W.L. George
Or, where Adrien finds home.
---------------------
Food without labor
He doesn’t need to starve for an ounce of affection when he’s with Marinette.
When he’s hungry, there’s no hard labor in obtaining food—all he has to do is tell her that he’s hungry. Sometimes she hears his stomach grumble and he won’t even have to say a word.
Marinette feeds him right away, with no questions asked; she doesn’t ask him if his modeling gig went off without a hitch, or if his grades have gone down. She doesn’t look at him with disappointment when he walks through the door, making it clear that he’s done something wrong.
Instead, she showers him with love and affection. Her fingers tread through his hair in rhythmic strokes, inciting a purr from the depths of his chest. He lets his eyes close, because he’s safe with her, just like any cat knows a human who feeds them is someone who can love them.
It took him a while to realize that he had the tendencies of a cat, in that way; if he’s shown no love or given no gifts of affection, he has the urge to run away.
It took him a long time to find someone who understands this and knows him like the back of their hand, and he couldn’t be more grateful.
He doesn’t have to stretch himself thin for a nice meal when he’s with Marinette.
When he’s with Marinette, he can eat knowing that he’s loved.
~~~
“Mariiii,” her superhero boyfriend whines, perched on her balcony ledge.
Marinette raises her eyebrows.
“Yes, Chaton?”
“I’m hungry.”
“Aren’t you a cat?” She smirks. “Why don’t you go hunt for some yummy mouse to snack on?”
He grimaces. “I don’t like mice. But I do like rice!”
“Sorry kitty, we didn’t have rice for dinner tonight.”
Chat Noir frowns, but only for a moment. He hops off the ledge to sit at his girlfriend’s feet.
Marinette shifts her gaze to him from her current embroidery project.
He smirks. “I also love cookies.”
“Cookies aren’t a meal.”
“Who says I need to eat a meal?”
She responds with a look.
“Kitty, you just said you were hungry. Cookies won’t cure hunger.”
“If I eat enough, they will.”
Marinette rolls her eyes and sets her embroidery project on the coffee table beside her. She stands up, holding a hand out to her kitty.
“Come on, Chaton. Let’s get you some food.”
Chat Noir can’t hold back his grin.
“What’s for dinner?”
Shelter without confinement
“Princess? Could I stay with you tonight?”
His voice shakes, eyes filled with unshed tears.
Marinette immediately nods, opening her arms. He collapses into her arms, stuffing his head into her chest and sighing heavily. She can feel his body fall limp as he melts into her embrace, like she’s the comfiest pillow he’s ever known.
She frowns. He must be exhausted.
Her fingers run through his blonde locks as she thinks of something to say. But what could she say? How could she make things better for him?
She knows her kitty doesn't feel safe at home. He often comes over late at night when it gets too cold and too lonely in his room, and after fights with his father that end in groundings. His groundings aren't ethical, she knows — his father might as well be putting metal bars on the windows because her kitty already feels just as trapped.
He considers her to be his solace; his place of comfort. He comes to her for shelter—a different shelter than the kind he’s used to; a better shelter. He comes to her to be loved and appreciated in his own skin, which is something he very obviously doesn’t receive at home.
Marinette wishes she could do more. She wishes she could steal her prince from his castle and run away, never to look back. But life isn’t a fairytale, she knows. Life isn’t going to grant him mercy, she knows. He holds the miraculous of bad luck; he manifests bad luck—he is bad luck.
But that doesn’t mean it’s fair. That doesn’t mean he deserves it.
“Kitty…I just want you to remember that I’m always here. My door is always open for you to come and to go when you feel too suffocated.”
He sniffles. “You never make me feel suffocated, Mari.”
Her heart swells.
“I’m glad. But I just wanted to make sure you knew that I’m not forcing you to stay here.”
Chat Noir snorts, lifting his head up to look at her dryly. “As opposed to my father who doesn’t let me go anywhere?”
She purses her lips.
“Correct.”
He manages a weak smile.
“Thank you,” he whispers.
“Of course,” she responds in the same tone. “I love you.”
Chat puckers his lips, tilting his head upwards. Marinette laughs at his very obvious hint and concedes.
She tilts her head downwards to press her lips against his.
They spend the rest of that night cuddled up on her bed, watching movies on Marinette’s laptop and occasionally sharing comfort kisses, until sleep creeps up on them.
If Marinette’s parents peek into the room in the middle of the night and see a cat boy in a leather super suit being their daughter’s big spoon, neither say a word about it in the morning.
~~~
Marinette wakes up with strong arms wrapped around her. She smiles, snuggling into the embrace.
“Are you awake?” He whispers.
She shivers in pleasure at the sound of his voice.
“No,” she says, turning her head and stuffing it into the pillow.
His deep laugh vibrates against her back.
“Okay, okay.”
They fall into a comfortable silence, enjoying the warmth of each others’ bodies and the radiation of love they both emit. Marinette doesn’t want to leave, and she hopes Chat doesn’t want to leave, either.
The silence is rudely interrupted by a loud ringing.
Chat Noir groans as she releases herself from his grip to turn off her phone alarm. She squints at the light, and her eyes widen when she sees what time it is.
“It’s 7:30, kitty.”
“Oh, fuck.”
With that sentiment, he’s throwing the sheets away from his body and scrambling to roll out of bed and make the sheets look somewhat presentable. Marinette doesn’t mean to, but she giggles.
“You don’t need to make the sheets look pretty. I can do that.”
His face flushes, but he doesn’t have enough time to respond. He leans over the bed to press a short kiss to her lips.
“I’m gonna be late.”
“I know.”
He bites his lip. “Is it okay if I go?”
“Of course, Chaton! Go do what you gotta do!”
Chat grins, pecking her lips once more and practically levitating up her hatch door.
“See you tonight?”
She nods.
“Tonight.”
He vaults away, leaving a blushing Marinette in his wake.
Love without penalties
The first time Chat Noir meets Marinette’s parents, he’s shaking in his faux leather boots.
Marinette can understand why. All he knows of parents are cold glares and disappointment. He feels pressure to make a good first impression or else he thinks they will immediately disown him.
She had made sure she told her parents about his home life because reinforcing her boyfriend’s insecurities is the absolute last thing she wants to do. Her mom had reassured her that any boy she loved, they would love just as much.
Marinette really hopes she was telling the truth.
Chat squeezes her hand tightly as they sit at the dinner table, face to face with Tom and Sabine. He pushes the food around on his plate, which worries Marinette because he’s always hungry .
“Chat Noir,” Tom says, grabbing Chat’s attention. He looks up at Tom with wide eyes, and Marinette can feel him tense under her hand.
“Yes, sir?”
Whatever her father is about to say is tossed out at the sight of Chat’s anxiety. His face softens, and he looks over at his wife helplessly.
Sabine sends him a sweet smile.
“Honey, from what we’ve heard, you have been nothing short of sweet to our girl. She brags about you all the time, you know. About how kind and gentle you are, and the way you always make sure she’s safe.”
Marinette glances at Chat beside her and sees the way his lips curl upward slightly.
“Of course. Marinette is important to me. I always want to make sure that she’s safe and that she feels loved,” he tells Tom and Sabine honestly.
Chat looks over at her with a sparkle in his eyes and she nearly melts.
“Son,” Tom says, making Chat look over to him again, “We approve. Please just make sure to leave the door open from now on—“
“Papa!” Marinette interrupts, her cheeks red. Her boyfriend just chuckles beside her.
“Of course, sir.”
Tom smirks and continues to eat his food.
The tension that was once at the dinner table is now long gone as they talk about anything and everything, learning more about Chat Noir and his relationship with Marinette. In turn, the younger couple learns more about Tom and Sabine; Chat learns how they met and how long they’ve been together, while Marinette learns that her father is half-Italian.
“How did I never know this?!” Marinette exclaims.
Tom shrugs, taking a sip of his wine. “You haven’t had that inevitable heritage month assignment yet. I figured that I would keep it a surprise.”
Oh, and what a surprise it was.
~~~
At the end of dinner, Chat sighs.
“Well, I have to get going before my fath—before anyone notices I’m still not home. I said I would be back about half an hour ago.”
Tom and Sabine exchange worried glances. Sabine bites her bottom lip.
She steps up to Chat Noir and grabs his gloved hands.
“We just want you to know that you never need to sneak in to see our daughter,” she says. “We know that you’re here and we wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He bites the inside of his cheek and nods. “Okay.”
Then, Tom says something that catches him totally off guard.
“You’re always welcome here. Remember that.”
Tears prick at his eyes. He swallows the lump in his throat, because he is not going to cry right now in front of his girlfriend’s parents.
“Thank you,” is what he says.
Sabine sends him a reassuring smile.
“No need to thank us. You’re family.”
He swallows again, but it’s too late. His face is surely red, and his nose is stuffy and his mouth is doing that weird thing where it feels like he’s going to yawn but it’s just his lips quivering and—
—And now he’s sobbing into Tom’s shoulder, and Sabine is rubbing his back. They’re whispering things into his ear and he doesn’t understand anything they’re saying, but it’s so soothing and it reminds him of home . He doesn’t know what home is. Is this home? He sure hopes it is because he feels so loved and wanted here, and—
He pulls away from the hug, wiping at his eyes and sniffling. Someone hands him a tissue. He nods gratefully, but doesn’t blow his nose. That would be too rude for a guest. Would it be rude for family, though? He’s not sure. He’s not sure of anything right now.
Regardless, he’s too embarrassed to meet Tom and Sabine’s eyes. Sobbing in front of your girlfriend’s parents maybe isn’t the best way to end the first-impression dinner.
He’s grateful when Marinette pulls him away from her parents and onto the front porch. She engulfs him in a hug of her own. His breathing slows, because he’s in his happy place, with the girl he loves. He eventually calms down to where the pace of his beating heart matches that of Marinette’s.
When he finally looks into her eyes, she’s smiling softly.
“So… how are you feeling?”
He snorts, shaking his head.
“Overwhelmed,” he says weakly.
Her nod is slow as she grabs his hands and squeezes them lightly, trying to ground him. It works slightly, because he takes a deep breath and sniffles, closing his eyes.
“I can see that. You had a bit of a panic attack back there…”
He says, “Oh.”
That’s all he really can say, because he had no idea that a panic attack was what just happened, but he’s happy to be able to put a name to it. He’s never had anyone tell him what it was; he usually just thought it was him being stupid. A sense of relief washes over him, knowing that it has a name.
There’s a pregnant pause before Marinette whispers, “I’m proud of you.”
He looks at her with confusion clouding his eyes.
“Why?”
She shrugs.
“Do I need a reason to be proud of you?”
That hits a soft spot, and suddenly he’s crying again.
But that’s okay, because his princess is right there.
I really love the wish me away au... cant wait for the whole series, also may i ask will adrien try to do something to mari (ike older adrien will try to take her since " he love her" or send her things like a stalker?, will their "real" parents try to fight to get her? or at least talk to her?, will their classmates look for her in social media? what about luka chloe and kagami? are they friends?, and for last, when she grow to the age she was wished away will remember everything and move on?
Okie dokie so I did somewhat answer this in a previous ask but this was asked so long ago and has multiple questions so imma do my best to answer all of them!
•Future Adrien does not send her things, nor does he talk about loving her. At this point he more or less hates the "current" Marinette because she's not his past version of Marinette. He truly doesn't see what he did wrong so he never accepted that Marinette didn't consider them friends anymore before the final battle took place. Then finding out his beloved Ladybug was his "friend" he was ecstatic to get his happily ever after from the wish and start a relationship with Marinette.
But then the Wish happened and it completely messed everything up. He doesn't know that Mari remembers her past life. Sometimes he suspects but really he doesn't start believing it until he hears about this Madame Miracle. He comes to the conclusion that it has to be Mari and she has to remember everything and that just makes him hate her more for "denying them their happily ever after."
At this point he does have his own business, a modeling agency, and he tries to get Marietta Wayne to be one of his models so he can get closer to her, but only as a means to steal whatever Miraculi she has on her. His offers keep being refused so he will at some point start to stalk and up his game so to speak.
• Tom and Sabine did try to fight for Mari in the courts but their case was quickly thrown out. Even if most courts now take on cases dealing with magic and there are magical beings and magical metahumans, there is one think Tom and Sabine's case lack. Proof. Even if a case is magical, there will always be some sort of evidence.
John Constantine had even been called to investigate the matter because Tom and Sabine wouldn't let up and so he agreed. He agreed because he knew he was about to shoot down any further attempt the two could take legally to get Marietta from Bruce. It was his first time back in Paris after the Djinn incident but once he set foot in Paris he could automatically feel the residual magic left behind by Karma.
Basically he tells Tom and Sabine, as well as the courts who were handling the cases, along with the Waynes. That yes he felt magical energy, but it was a left over energy and merely proved that magic had been active at some point. And he basically states that if Marietta had been this Marinette girl she would definitely have some Magic on her but point blank states she has none and even goes as far as to say he's willing to bring in Wonder Woman so he can say that on her lasso.
After that? Tom and Sabine really don't have a leg to stand on and they have no one to really turn to except Adrien who contacts them as Chat Noir and swears to bring their daughter back.
• Some classmates do follow her on her social medias, some because they just like this growing fashion icon, they don't remember her mind you so they really only follow her because she's a small celebrity. Others did follow her but she blocks them any and every time they make new accounts to try and talk to her about being Marinette.
• Luka and Kagami remain friends but that's kind of up in the air, not because they fight or anything! But because an ask made me think about Marinette and Luka and how their relationship is really freaking sad in this AU and how I might maybe, very slightly, might be considering Fluff and Them deciding to Bless the two of them and basically Luka would also be aged down so the two could find one another in their later lives. But again, idk, I'm just contemplating this.
If that doesn't happen, then yes Luka and Kagami remain close friends, along with Marc, Nathaniel, Aurore, and Mireille.
Chloe is friends with Marc and Nathaniel but she moves from Paris with her family after the whole broadcast and everything that followed. She and Kagami are polite to one another and consider each other acquaintances. It's not because they dislike each other or anything, it's just they never became close before Chloe's move and afterwards they rarely see one another and neither really knows how to reach out to the other.
• Mari already remembered so as she grows it doesn't really affect her. I mean mentally it does because she doesn't like remembering her past life with so much clarity, but it's not holding her back in anyway.
She has very much moved on. It's just the memories do bring some pain and sadness for her that she wishes she forgot but she does not want to ask any magic user to help her with it. The thought of the magic for that going wrong scares her too much to ever even think of asking anyone let alone the kwamis.
Jagged Stone is best uncle!!
I’m so happy you loved my other story! This one was over on ao3 by azv2448 And I was so in love with this request... And another one or two? But anyways! Here you go everyone!
Let’s see if I can get more then 6 likes with this one!
Jagged was famous for his music and the mysterious MDC who designs his clothes, it always made him happy when his honorary niece Marinette would gush about how he looked with her designs and the sales she was getting.
But he hates it when she’s sad... And he knows why...
For some stupid reason, Mari was being claimed a bully, a thief, a cheater and many other things, her parents have tried to press charges for the bruises, the trashed homework, stolen items and everything else... But were ignored the whole time, as a result Mari had to take a break with her designs and finish the one that were already paid for.
Jagged felt terrible for her, she was going through so much and she only had her parents, him, Penny and Fang on her side... Everyone else gave her the stink eyes when seen, knowing that the school wasn’t going to help, he spoke to Sabine and Tom about taking Marinette on his next tour... To get her out of Paris while they take care of what the school has done to Mari, they both agreed so Penny went to help Mari pack her things for the tour with the promise that anything she’s missing will be bought by them.
On the day of the tour, Jagged promised to Tom and Sabine that Mari will call every time she has the chance and internet connection... While he want’s to prove to the world who Mari is to her, the tour begins and Mari is taken to America with Jagged to discover what he sees, she would be introduced to famous singers, models and even actors that Jagged met in the past making Mari happy to make them a few pieces of clothing when she has the time for it as they refused to rush her at all.
Then came the night where everything changed, Jagged took Mari to a Wayne gala where she meets Bruce, his three adopted sons and Damian his blood son, while it ended up being love at first sight... It was still an amazing night, after that, Damian had her meet his friends, took her around Gotham, helped her when she would sketch a new design, and help her during her fabric shopping, of course this resulted in her trying to make him stop but her new boyfriend was faster each time she tried.
Of course, he and his friends knew about what Mari was put through... And they weren’t going to let it continue on like this, so Damian and Jon began to have there father’s to look into things while Roy Harper went to Paris to spy around and settle in... And Mari had no idea at all, on the day Mari had to return home, the boys began to prepare for there own trip to Paris, the first to go in was the Wayne’s, they walked in right before school ended to verbally attack Damocles for his crimes and claimed they would press charges.
Meanwhile, the news about the Wayne’s being here went around making Lila’s followers believe that they were here for Lila as a surprise, but that quickly changed when a lawyer came to her with papers for a cease and desist on her lies of being connected to the Waynes... Or it will be brought to court, she couldn’t even try to avoid it since they were also sent to her mother who she knew would lose it on her once she’s home.
It was then that Mari came out, she was so happy at the surprise as she ignored everyone’s shocked expressions, once gone Chloe laughed at how stupid the class was... While Alya only thought about how huge of an interview she would get of the Wayne’s thanks to Mari, for weeks her new friends and clients would come visit her just to see her or to work on something with her, her classmates would do there best to have her hang with them but she was always too busy, they went to commission her but she already had a bunch, didn’t have them or could she do them anymore free commissions or baked goods.
After that... They decided to simply not talk to her, they all believed that she was being petty right now by making them pay for clothes and sweets, then... Things began to happen to them, scholarships were cancelled, colleges changed there minds on having them and parents were told of the bills for the sweets and clothes they had Mari make them... This resulted in them getting jobs to pay her back, all of there dreams were turned to dust.
They could do online classes and get jobs that weren’t there dreams while Adrien was back to being homeschooled... Mari was living her dreams: she left for America for college, opened a store once she graduated so she could save up to open her next store... And now she was getting ready to become a Wayne as she was getting married to Damian!
All of her friends and family were invited to the event... Except her old classmates from Paris, they got nothing even after they found out and tried to reach out to her to be invited or for her to help them... To put it simply.
They were just like Lila Rossi... Gold diggers... And she wanted nothing to do with them.
Headcanons I have about the miraculous universe:
Lila lying comes from her mother. Her mother lied to get ahead in the industry, because of this Lila thinks she has to lie to get somewhere in life.
Chloé was a genuinely good person when she was growing up but because she lived with her mother she adopted her personality.
Chloé thought her father had ran away and left her before 11 when she finally met him.
Chloé was just dropped on the mayor so he has no idea how to deal with her. What she liked and doesn't like that he just gives her everything he wants.
Marinette had social anxiety.
Sabine and Tom caused Marinette's social anxiety. Not intentionally but they still did. With Marinette heating lies and being a child she was brutally honest, saying what she thought, her parents made her filter so much that she just watches her words and actions all the time.
Marinette can lie really well she just feels dirty doing it.
Adrien can act super well and sometimes he Félix act to be each other for months (before Fé became bitter of course). Their parents only find out because Fé is god awful at keeping his hatred in check.
Félix is the one who wants to become a model and Adrien wants to be an actor.
Alix wants to be a olympic figure skater but prefer rollerblading. She loves rollerblading too much to make it her job.
Max has a mini-Markov in his room and his mother framed the first and last blueprints for Markov. (Mini-Markov is fully functioning just more fragile than Markov)
Max doesn't see his mom much and lives with a nanny.
Rose has a really good sense of smell so she stays away from Adrien as much as she can without seeming rude because he always smells like Camembert and it overwhelms her.
Rose goes to the hospital, even when she doesn't want or need to, to tell the less fortunate kids that are still stuck in there.
Prince Ali has no respect for time. Once he came for Rose in the middle of the day. And guess what? Achu is 10 hours ahead of Paris. Yes, I said what I said. The man loses sleep because he doesn't know when the hell the shut his eyes and not bother Rose!
Ali's father does it too. The poor subjects of Achu. Once in the middle of the night they got an announcement the king had remembered.
Ali's caretaker, remember her? She ensures that they don't die because they deem 3 in the morning appropriately to bother the females in their lives. (Rose has threatened him with a kitchen knife before. The girl is scary when you wake her up from a nice dream for nothing.)
Achu has purple-pink sunsets everytime they have a red-orange sunrise. (Rose found out Lila was lying because there was a red-orange sunrise that day.)
Juleka knows how to use throwing knives. Don't ask any of the Couffaines why they'll just shiver and tell you to drop the topic.
Chloé knows how sneak up on people and knows how to fill your mind with so much things that you won't realize she is about to knock you out.
And last but not least:
Trixx can become human and has done it a lot that her parents thinks Trixx is one of Marinette’s knew friends who is socially awkward and knows how the scale buildings really well. (That's what Mari told them anyway 🤷🏾‍♀️).
Sorry it took so long for the next chapter. If I stop writing I have to go back and read what was there and it just reads so badly to me so I have to start over. To make up for it, I tried to make this chapter extra long, but I don’t know if it came across that way.
First - Last - Next
Hell hath no fury like Marinette scorned. On the outside she appeared calm, almost peaceful, but on the inside she was plotting. She doubted the class would take the fallout quietly so she needed to be prepared. The bell on the door jingled as she stepped inside. Her maman perked up hearing the bell. “Marinette! How was school today?” Eventful,” she replied, “can I talk to you and papa about something? It’s important.” “Of course,” Sabine replied, “please flip the sigh to closed will you?” Marinette nodded and flipped the sign, locking the door for good measure. From there she was ushered upstairs.
“So what do you need to talk to us about? Did you find your sketchbook?” Sabine inquired, her hands folded gently on her lap. “You remember Lila right? The girl who falsified my expulsion?” “She’s the one with the lying disease right?” Tom replied. Marinette forced herself to not roll her eyes. Lila literally said she had a lying disease and was still believed. “Yes and yes. Lila was the one who took it and tore it apart,” Marinette pulled the broken sketchbook from her backpack. Sabine gasped. Tom rubbed her shoulder. “Most of my class did as well. Except for Adrien, Chloé, Sabrina, and Nathanael.” Sabine frowned. “Was it your commission book?” “No, thankfully. That one’s still here. This one was just doodles.” Marinette put the sketchbook down on the table. “But I refuse to leave this unpunished. I just thought I’d let you know.” Tom grimaced but object. “Normally I would be against this,” Tom said, “but if you think it’s necessary then you have my support.” Sabine nodded in agreement. “Is there anything we can do to help?” “Outside of Chloé, Adrien, Sabrina, and Nathanael I don’t know who helped tear it apart and who tried to take it away so it wouldn’t get damaged,” Marinette began, “so until then could you refuse to serve anyone from my class that isn’t those three? Or at least not give them a discount? Or let them see me?” Not that anyone but Nathanael would visit from that small group. “Of course Marinette,” Sabine said, “we’re your parents. It’s our job to be there for you.” Marinette didn’t comment about how they believed Lila when she was expelled and instead shot herself into her parents arms, pulling them into a hug. “I’m going to go salvage what I can from this.” She said, picking up the sketchbook. “Let me know if anyone stops by.”
It took longer than Adrien would like to admit to pick out which sketchbook to buy for Marinette. This was the third shop he went to. “Oh for the love of god Adrikins will you just pick a sketchbook already?” Chloé snapped from beside him. Adrien staggered slightly before looking at her. “It’s not just a replacement but an apology.” He replied. “It needs to be perfect.” “There’s only so long before you father comes a calling and then you can’t give her the sketchbook at all.” She retorted, crossing her arms. Sabrina appeared next to the two blondes holding a 12 by 9 inch sketchbook. Adrien took it from her hands and inspected it. The cover was rather bland, only being a dull dark brown, but the quality of the paper was rather nice. It looked like something his father would use. He didn’t know Sabrina as well as he did Chloé but she clearly had an eye for these things. He supposed being friends with Chloé helped in that regard. “I also considered the idea of getting flowers for Marinette,” Sabrina added, “maybe they’ll act as a nice icebreaker before giving her the sketchbook.” “Sabrina, when you get married I will happily pay for the wedding.” Adrien said. Sabrina smiled. “I’ll hold it to you.” “Great we have a sketchbook can we go already?” Chloé hissed, clearly annoyed. “Yes Chlo, we can go pay and head out.” Adrien paid for the expensive sketchbook before hopping into a flower shop nearby, much to the chagrin of Chloé. One bouquet later and they was off to the Dupain-Cheng bakery.
“Welcome! How can I-” Sabine paused looking at the odd trio in front of her. Adrien, Chloé, and Sabrina, only two of which had ever been over. “We’re here to see Marinette.” Adrien replied, giving an awkward smile. If Sabine did know about the sketchbook, it’s possible she wouldn’t let them visit. Chloé and Sabrina’s less than perfect history with Marinette certainly wouldn’t help. “Of course, you remember how to get inside don’t you Adrien?” He nodded and slipped past the confused Sabine. Tom was equally as confused. “You’re here to see Marinette?” “Yep.” Adrien replied, popping the ‘p.’ “Feel free to grab something then, you’re practically skin and bones.” “Model diet,” Chloé retorted, as Adrien slipped the sketchbook under his arm. Marinette’s parents made the best baked goods. The trio moved efficiently through the house before sending Sabrina to knock on the trap door. A simple ‘who is it?’ rang from above. Sabrina pushed the trap door open. “Adrien and Chloé are also here.” Marinette ushered the three up. Adrien practically shoved the flowers in front of her. “Are these-” Marinette began. “Flowers? Yeah. Sabrina suggest I get some along with this,” he held the sketchbook out. Marinette placed the bouquet on her desk before delicately taking the sketchbook from him. She inspected it but found no price tag. “I heard the class damaged your sketchbook so I found it right to get you a new one.” “I can’t this accept, ugh I mean, I can’t accept this.” “Yes you can. You deserve nice things Marinette.” “Adrikins practically dragged me around Paris to find you that sketchbook. Take it.” Chloé said, inspecting her nails. “Ignore her,” Adrien replied, “it was my fault that you’re sketchbook got torn in the first place. I didn’t know how awful Lila could be.” “But you didn’t. I didn’t tell you that she threatened me-” Adrien, Sabrina, and Chloé’s heads whipped to look at her. “She threatened you?” Adrien’s voice was cold. It almost reminded her of M. Agreste’s during the brief time he heard it. “When exactly did she threaten you?” “When she first got back. In the bathroom. And she kind of did when I got briefly expelled.” “Well then it was definitely the wrong advice. I thought she was just lying for attention, not threatening you. That’s serious. I would’ve never made that deal if I knew how awful she was. I could’ve, I should’ve-” “Wait deal?” This time Sabrina spoke up. “The reason Lila works for Gabriel is because I made a deal to get her to lie Marinette back into class. I swore I told her to leave you alone to. It’s all my fau—why are you crying??!!”
And lo and behold, large tears dripped down Marinette’s cheeks, which she wiped away. “You did that for me?” “Of course, you’re my friend.” Adrien replied, pulling her into a hug. “And that’s what friend do right?” “Okay great, dirty laundry has been aired or whatever but can we get to the point people?” Chloé sniped. “What’s the point?” Marinette asked, stepping out of the hug, albeit reluctantly. “When you go maul the class to death, leave Sabrina, Adrikins, and I out of it. We’re not friends, but even I know not to ruin your stuff.” Marinette put the sketchbook down. “I will but I get to slap you with no consequences.” “You’ve got to be joking.” “You made my life hell and that’s getting off easy for the amount of crap you put me though.” “How about instead, I cover whatever expensive fancy fabrics you can’t buy for the next two months. I’d have to explain the smack to daddy after all” “Hm, make it four months.” Marinette replied. “Three.” “Deal.” Chloé turned on her heel. “Sabrina, let’s go.” The redhead followed but paused to wave goodbye. “I guess that’s my cue to leave as well.” Adrien replied. “And again, I’m sorry I didn’t help you sooner.” “You didn’t know. But you’ll stand up for me now right? When Lila opens her mouth to spew more lies?” “Of course Mari. I’ll be your alibi until the foreseeable future.” He pulled Marinette into a hug again, and impulsively kissed her cheek before leaving the building. It wasn’t until he was standing on the street, phone in hand to call the Gorilla did he realize what he had done.
“Oh god.”
Marinette’s Family Court Circus
I got this idea from a post @unmaskedagain and decided to put my own little spin to it. It’s a bit sad and does have my usual Lila-Salt spin, but I really loved writing this. Warm-Fuzzies and please enjoy!!
The day of her greatest triumph was also her greatest tragedy. Hawkmoth had finally been defeated, the butterfly and peacock miraculous back in the miracle box where they belonged, and Paris was finally safe.
However, when Gabriel Agreste was revealed to be the magical terrorist and his assistant, Nathalie, his accomplice, Adrien had been devastated. When the Paris police sought to find out the extent of Adrien's involvement, he had no choice but to reveal in a private interrogation room with only the mayor, Officer Roger, the chief of police, and Ladybug herself, his identity as Chat Noir. After which, Adrien said a tearful goodbye to Plagg and surrendered the ring of destruction to Ladybug. A press conference was held within an hour, absolving Adrien of any crimes in relation to his father, and his bodyguard would also be absolved four days later.
That night, after Ladybug had returned home and tearfully placed the ring, broch, and pin back in the miracle box; her parents and Grandma Gina had told her that they were going out to dinner to celebrate; Gina had even rented a car so they wouldn’t need to walk or take the subway. How Marinette wished that they had just gotten on the subway.
She woke up the following afternoon in the hospital. Apparently, her family weren’t the only people celebrating Hawkmoth’s defeat, and a car load of university students had celebrated too hard and T-boned their car while running a light. The doctors told her that her grandmother and father had died on impact and her mother passed away during surgery. Marinette had been extremely lucky to survive without any life threatening injuries; a broken leg, arm, collar bone, two cracked ribs, and a few lacerations across her body.
She was hardly paying attention to what the doctors were saying. Too shocked by the whole situation. There was no Miraculous Cure that could fix this. In the span of a single day, she had defeated her enemy, saved Paris, lost her partner, lost her grandmother, and her parents. She was alone.
When her family’s lawyer, M. Contere came to talk about custody, it was revealed that her grandmother was supposed to take custody in the event of her parents' deaths. Her grandfather would have been the next logical choice, but he had recently suffered a stroke and had been placed in a nursing home. This left the lawyer scrambling to find someone to take the girl or risk having her surrendered to the city of Paris.
Going through the Dupain-Chengs’ contact list, M. Contere made phone calls to numbers listed as family friends or emergency contacts. There were three that particularly stood out to him, all listed under the title of ‘uncle’.
The first was to an ‘Uncle J’; a woman answered the phone, introducing herself as Penny. When Contere told her it had to do with the Dupain-Chengs, the phone was handed to a man with a distinctly British accent. He sounded devastated to hear that Tom, Sabine, and Gina had all passed away before going into a panic and asking if Marinette was alright, showing absolute relief that she had survived the crash. When Contere mentioned the custody hearing, the man practically demanded to know the date, time, and place before promising that he would be there.
The second contact that stood out was labeled as ‘Uncle Tony’. That call was answered by an assistant named Jarvis before transferring the call to Tony. Again, Contere could hear the surprise and hurt at hearing that his friends had passed away before asking if Marinette had been in the car. When told that she had survived, there was relief and he mentioned that Peter would have probably cried for a week if he’d lost his childhood friend. Tony then offered to take custody of Marinette and Contere quickly told him the details.
Although M. Contere was relieved that at least two family friends/possible relatives seemed more than willing to take Marinette, he knew how fickle and difficult the courts could be and wanted as many options as possible for the girl, which led to the third contact labeled ‘Uncle Bruce’.
The phone was answered by an older sounding gentleman named Alfred before transferring the call. Contere could hear multiple voices in the background, most sounding like young men, and when he told Bruce about the passing of Tom, Sabine, and Gina; it went very quiet for a moment before all the voices began speaking at once demanding to know what happened, who was responsible, and if Marinette was okay. M.Contere answered the questions that he could and told them that Marinette was in need of a legal guardian. Bruce said Gina had been a great friend and mentor to him when he was younger and that he would be honored to care for her granddaughter. So he told him the details of the court hearing with the promise that he would make sure that Marinette was taken care of until then.
After hanging up, M. Contere had a strange feeling that he couldn’t shake. A feeling that told him that those three ‘Uncles’ were either going to make his job of getting Marinette into a stable home a lot easier… or it would be a total nightmare.
~oOo~
The day of the hearing was a Monday and Marinette's case was the first on the docket, which was a relief. If things went smoothly, she could be placed with one of her respective uncles by the end of the week and be taken care of. When the two of them stepped into the room, with Marinette rolling beside him in her wheelchair, M. Contere was surprised to see multiple familiar faces in the courtroom that he had not expected. Jagged Stone, Bruce Wayne, and Tony Stark were glaring, arguing, and puffing out their chests at each other; ignoring everyone else in the room. He also noticed how each man seemed to have an entire team of lawyers backing them up.
The tension and glaring match only broke when the two women; Pepper Potts and Penny Rolling, and the four Wayne boys; Dick, Jason, Tim, and Damien, noticed Marinette’s arrival.
“Marinette, sweetie, how are you feeling?” Penny asked as she walked away from Jagged to kneel beside Marinette’s wheelchair.
“Been better, but I’m glad to see some familiar faces,” she said with a weak smile.
Pepper leaned over a bit to give the girl a gentle hug while minding her injuries. “We’re here for you, Mari. No matter what.”
Then the four boys were almost surrounding her, offering to hunt down the people that took away their family and pile so many lawsuits on them that they’ll die of papercuts. This made her chuckle and grimace a bit from the pain, telling the boys that was sweet but unnecessary.
Jagged, Bruce, and Tony immediately put their argument on hold as they hurried over to check on the girl as well. Contere found it to be a good sign that Marinette seemed familiar with the three men, that they all asked how she was and if she wanted anything, as well as promising that they would take care of her. That last one, the three said at the same time and got them glaring at each other again. This caused Contere to sweat and Marinette to give her head a resigned shake.
What followed would probably go down as the most intense, well argued, and most headache-inducing case in the history of the Paris Family Court System with all three men vying for custody of the teenage girl.
Being able to provide financial stability wasn’t a concern as Jagged Stone was currently the most successful rockstar in Europe, Asia, Australia, and the Americas; while Tony Stark and Bruce Wayne were two of the wealthiest businessmen in the entire world. All three even offered to completely cover Marinette’s tuition to any school she wanted, so long as she was accepted.
Her safety turned out to be a large factor with all three men, and they were willing to hire their own private security to make sure that she stayed safe at all times. However, the three men also argued how the others lived in unsafe environments.
Jagged mostly lived in tour buses and out of hotels, which was a factor; but he was willing to call off his tours during the school year and only go on tour during school breaks so Marinette would never be without her guardian. Penny was also willing to help Jagged at every turn, stating that she loved Marinette like a niece and would make sure that she had a strong female role model in her life as well.
Tony’s reputation as a playboy and his identity as Iron Man brought up the possibility of attracting a dangerous element. He argued that his homes were equipped with the most advanced security systems on the planet. As well as being friends with an actual “God-Alien”, who had met Marinette and liked her a great deal. Tony was also willing to make Marinette her own personal Iron Suit that would be programmed to protect and fly her to a safe location at the first sign of danger. Pepper also offered to share custody as she already took care of Tony’s daily life as his assistant, taking care of Marinette would be easy and she was looking forward to having her around.
Bruce’s residence in Gotham, the most crime ridden city in North America, was a big factor. Bruce made a point that he already had experience as a guardian of his three adopted sons and his biological son, and they were kept safe. That he also had a top of the line security system at his home, which was located outside of city limits. Dick, Jason, and Tim also commented that they thought of Marinette like a little sister and that Wayne Enterprises had locations all over the world. If the judge decided that Gotham was too dangerous, one of them would gladly take up residency in a city that the judge approved and would stay there to watch over Marinette while still working and providing for her.
After two hours of listening to the back and forth of the three men and their lawyers, the judge decided that he’d heard enough for the day and set the next meeting for the following Thursday after lunch. He also recommended that the men bring proof that they have the mental capability of caring for a teenage girl, lists of schools near their homes to show that she will continue her education, and character witnesses, if available.
The three men wanted to take Marinette out to get something to eat after the court was adjourned, but M. Contere was forced to tell them that it would not be appropriate during the legal proceedings. He also recommended that they follow the judge’s instructions and make sure that they had everything needed, otherwise they would likely not qualify. Hearing that got all three men, their assistants, family, and lawyers moving at top speeds to get everything they needed for court in a few days.
Once they were out of sight, the lawyer couldn’t help but let out a stress induced sigh as he raised one hand to pinch the bridge of his nose. This custody battle had the potential to turn into a total circus, and although it could do great things for his career in the long run, he was more worried about how this would affect Marinette.
Speaking of, he was brought from his thoughts when he felt her small hand gently pat the hand that was holding his briefcase. When he looked down at her, she gave him a kind, though slightly amused smile. “You had no idea about the can of worms you were opening when you made those phone calls, did you?”
He couldn’t help but chuckle. “How was I supposed to know that Uncle J, Uncle Tony, and Uncle Bruce would turn out to be three of the most influential men in the world? How does your family even know all of them?”
“Uncle Bruce was raised by the family butler, Alfred Pennyworth, after his parents died. Grandma Gina and Alfred were best friends when they were younger. After the Waynes died, Gina would go check on them in Gotham, she liked to brag that she helped get Bruce back out of his shell. Uncle Tony knew my parents back in university, he was a lot younger and smarter than the other students and you can guess that didn’t go over well with some of them. My parents looked out for him and they became friends, and even after he got busy when he took over the company, he always made time to be there for the big moments in our lives; my parents’ wedding, their baby shower, and when I was born. I’ve actually spent a few summers in Gotham and New York visiting them.”
“And Jagged Stone?”
“He’s the most recent of my honorary uncles. I’m his personal designer, but he got unofficially adopted into my family after the tv show that took place in my parents’ bakery. Uncle Jagged made a bread guitar and sang rock songs with my dad. Once the show was over, Mom invited him and Penny to stay for dinner. During the course of the night, Dad claimed him as a new little brother. Jagged was so happy that he started calling my parents big brother and big sister, and started calling me his niece. Since then, he’s come over at least once a month to just relax and be a family with us.”
M. Contere couldn’t help but smile at that. From the sound of it and what he had seen, all three men truly cared about this girl and were willing to bend over backwards for her. That was a good thing, but he still worried that a custody battle between these three men could go for a long time and possibly cause mental distress for Marinette. Although the final decision was ultimately up to the judge, he was allowed to make recommendations if they were in the best interests of the child.
With that in mind, he knelt down beside Marinette. “You know the three of them and what they’re living situations are like better than I do. And even though you’re not 15 years old yet, I could petition the judge to factor your opinion. Which of them would you like to have guardian status?”
When Marinette gave him a knowing smile, he just knew that things might get more complicated.
~oOo~
It got a lot more complicated.
The media had caught wind of the custody battle, causing a giant crowd of paparazzi to stake out the courthouse to catch a glimpse of the rockstar, billionaire, and the self proclaimed “genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist” who was also a superhero. To their credit, the three only said that they were devastated by the loss of the Dupain-Chengs and wanted to do what was best for Marinette and left all the other questions at the door.
In the courtroom; all three men, as well as their assistants and Bruce’s boys, had done mental evaluations that their lawyers submitted to the judge. They also provided lists of different schools that Marinette was free to choose from; including public schools, private, and even schools that specialized in fashion. But the absolute kicker was the character witnesses.
Jagged Stone had brought other music stars, movie stars, and production mega stars that made Contere wonder for a moment if he’d accidentally walked into an award ceremony. Tony Stark had brought the Avengers, The Avengers, as his character witnesses. Contere wasn’t too proud to admit that he was a bit starstruck when Thor himself came over to great Marinette and complimented her on her ‘battle scars’, saying that they were a testament to her strength. If that wasn’t enough, Bruce brought multiple members of the Billionaire’s Club as character witnesses, many of whom had been suspected of being members of the Justice League.
The judge looked just as surprised, though somewhat irritated, by the people crowding his courtroom. He quietly looked over the mental health evaluations that had been provided, as well as the lists of schools; finding that everything was in order and that any of them would have been wonderful guardians to the girl. He was tempted to call another recess and pick this back up the following week until Marinette’s lawyer raised his hand.
“If it would please the court,” the judge motioned for him to continue, “although Mlle. Dupain-Cheng is not yet of legal age to make a final decision on the matter of custody, I felt that she was old enough to state her opinion. We have discussed it over the past few days and I believe we came up with a proposal that will satisfy all parties involved while still being in the best interest of the child.” M. Contere presented the four copies of the proposal to the bailiff, who handed one to the judge, and the three lead lawyers.
The judge read the summary at the top before looking at the lawyer in surprise. “You’re proposing joint custody?”
“Yes, your honor. My client and I feel that due to the influence that these men hold, as you can see by the character witnesses that have come here to speak on their behalf, that this custody hearing could be drawn out for a long time, which could have mental repercussions on Marinette.” Contere didn’t miss the ‘you ain’t kidding’ roll of his eyes, or the looks of shame that the three men shared at the thought of hurting Marinette.
“Keeping that in mind, my client came up with an outline for a possible custody agreement. M. Stark would retain custody during school as he has listed one of the top fashion schools in America, which would further Marinette’s future career. The weekends would be spent with M. Wayne, as Wayne Enterprises has connections to the fashion industry and would be able to give her training to help her successfully run her own business. M. Stone would have custody during summer breaks, so Marinette may continue gaining experience as his personal designer, a position she has held for close to a year and has already earned her recognition in the industry.”
The judge grew quiet again as he contemplated the proposal and read over the details. He didn’t want to deal with these three powerful, and in a lot of ways eccentric, men for the next few months while attempting to figure out the best placement for the child. Nor did he want to deal with the media frenzy that this case had already brought on. If anything, this was likely the best option, if he could get the men to agree to the terms.
“Do you have any objections to this proposal?”
There was a moment of silence as the lawyers continued to look over the proposal and spoke to their clients. Jagged’s lawyer was the first to respond. “No, your honor. M. Stone believes that this would be best for Marinette, but we would like to add a clause that M. Stone be permitted to call and visit Mlle. Dupain-Cheng so long as it does not interfere with her school work.”
“My client would also like that clause added to the proposal, your honor,” said the Wayne lawyer. “As well as the clause that Messieurs Stone and Stark work together with M. Wayne in securing Mlle. Dupain-Cheng’s safety. As previously stated, all three men could be considered high-priority targets and normally require bodyguards. M. Wayne has proposed that any potential bodyguard be vetted and approved by all parties involved before being hired.”
The judge looked to Stark’s lawyer. “And do you have any stipulations you would want to see added to the proposal?”
“Only that there be an open line of communication between Messieurs Stone, Wayne, and Stark at all times in reference to Mlle. Dupain-Cheng’s well being and any possible travel. As all three men are known to travel the world for business; there will be occasions for the child to travel as well. When this occurs, the other guardians should receive notice of the country, city, and address that she resides; so, in case of an emergency, they will be able to be present to assist and protect her.”
“My client has no objections to these clauses,” said Jagged’s lawyer.
“And you, M. Wayne?”
The Wayne lawyer nodded. “The clauses are more than reasonable and are in the best interest of Mlle. Dupain-Cheng. Although I only speak for my client, I do not believe that I would be out of line to say that is the main focus of Messieurs Stone and Stark as well.”
The lawyers hid their relief when the judge nodded in agreement. “As the proposal was presented by the child and the three of you are in agreement, I’m scheduling a meeting in my chambers for next Tuesday to go over the finer details of the custodial agreement. I will allow your clients and one lawyer each to attend; this includes you and your client, M. Contere.”
“Yes, your honor.”
“And as for you, Mlle. Dupain-Cheng,” Marinette’s head snapped up to meet the judge’s gaze. “It seems that you have gained three extremely powerful, influential, and in many ways crazy guardians. I don’t know if I should congratulate you or give you my sympathies. What I will do is wish you the best of luck and hope that you are prepared for the future. Court is adjourned.”
There was a hum of surprise and joy that spread through the courtroom as Jagged, Bruce, and Tony stepped up to each other and shook hands before approaching Marinette and M. Contere.
“Of course, my niece would come up with a way to keep everyone happy, she’s so rock n’ roll that way.” Jagged beamed with pride as Tony and Bruce nodded in agreement.
“Would it be alright if all of us went to dinner to celebrate,” Bruce asked Contere, indicating the ‘all’ to be himself and his boys, Jagged and Penny, and Tony and Pepper; along with Marinette and Contere.
“So long as there’s no discussion of custody and everyone stays civil, I don’t see any harm in it.”
Everyone smiled in agreement while Pepper mentioned that she’d just finished making reservations for all eleven of them at a nice restaurant that had the best view of the Eiffel Tower.
As the others began filing out of the courtroom, Marinette patted his hand and gave him a sympathetic look. “You just opened your second can.”
M. Contere wasn’t sure about what she’d meant until after the meal was over and the waitress brought the check, and then watched as the three billionaires fought over it. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he only hoped that this would all be over on Tuesday and he could go back to his normal, boring cases.
Goodbye Paris
Marinette is 17 and the other 18 in this Au.
Marinette's parents fall under Lila's spell as well. She starts filling them with lies about Marinette and soon they start believing her.
Lila accuses Marinette of sneaking out and hanging out with the wrong people. Sabine and Tom start believing her, especially when they notice she wasn't there one night. She was out patrolling as Ladybug.
Soon Marinette is on lock down barely able to leave her house. She struggles to even get out as Ladybug.
Her parents become more and more distant, soon not even talking to Marinette. No goodbyes, hellos, I missed you, or I love you, just silence. Marinette tries to combat the lies but her parents won't listen. She slowly gives up focusing on Hawkmoth, school, and designing.
Halfway through the year she opts to graduate early forfeiting walking at graduation. She doesn't even mention it to her parents, just focuses on getting money together for her own place while applying to colleges overseas. After she stops attending Chloe reaches out to her apologizing for everything she had done and asking for a second chance. Chloe moved to America with her mother, their junior year unable to handle akuma anymore. Marinette tells her their relationship will be rockey and first but she agrees to a new start.
It's right before the end of the school year when Ladybug and Chat Noir defeat Hawkmoth and get the two missing Miraculouses back. Chat gets mad when Ladybug refuses to reveal her identity and attempts to make her. She stops him and takes his Miraculous back as well revealing Adrien.
"This is goodbye Chaton. If you had taken this more seriously. Perhaps you could know it, but you never did."
She leaves him there returning home and safely putting the peacock and butterfly miraculouses away. After his defeat she stops patrolling as Ladybug and instead plans her move, not wishing to be with her parents any longer.
Once she stops patrolling petty crime begins to pick up again. The city starts crying out for Ladybug to return but Marinette wont. She can't be there for everything, it's time the police start doing their job again. After a month the city is outraged that Ladybug is nowhere to be seen. They take to Adrien who admits to being Chat Noir, he apologizes to Paris saying that Ladybug took his Miraculous. He tells them that he wants to help but she won't help him any longer. After his display Paris begins a smear campaign against Ladybug. Tired of this Marinette transforms and heads to the Eiffel Tower broadcasting to all of Paris her goodbye.
Marinette- I have heard the out cry at my disappearance, and I find it deplorable. I have been fighting since I was thirteen. Did any of you think of that? You have had a child fighting your battles for you with another child that never took it seriously! Now, now you smear my character, saying I am a villain after I have taken down Hawkmoth. All because I stopped patrolling and taking down petty criminals. Instead of looking at me you should be looking at your police force. I am done, I thought of coming back after college but after all this, no. This is goodbye Paris, for good.
After her speech Chloe video calls her asking her if she is okay. Marinette plays everything off saying she is fine until Chloe tells her that she knows she is Ladybug. Marinette hesitates trying to think of a cover but just sighs asking how Chloe knew. Chloe smiles and tells her that she grew up with the girl only and the imbecile would not be able to tell that their 'Everyday Ladybug' was their actual Ladybug. Soon after the girls get a request for Luka to join. Once he is on the call he offers his own word of comfort causing Marinette to groan and Chloe to laugh. Luka simply tells her that her song is the same beautiful piece in and outside of the mask. Marinette grumbles teasingly about Metas being annoying, causing Luka to chuckle smiling at her. She tells them that she is leaving Paris for good now that Hawkmoth is gone. Chloe encourages her to move to America and go to Juliard while Luka simply hums strumming his guitar. When he opens his eyes he tells her to follow the path that calls to her, causing Chloe to groan. Snapping at him Half heartedly he simply smiles at the two girls before saying he needs to get to bed, the girls smile saying goodnight and wishing him good luck with his show the next day before they hang up.
She is really thankful that she changed her designer name shortly after Lila came to her school. Now known as MDC she has a thriving online website and even has a few designers that follow her designs down to every single stitch. While she also helps them get their own lines started. She even begins to employ models, Chloe begging her most popular. Her clientele extended even more and she had a lot of famous musicians commissioning her. She was even commissioned by Megan Markle before she and Prince Harry got married, and was even invited to the wedding she attended with Kaalki's help.
Marinette applies to a few different colleges all in America knowing that staying in Paris was no longer an option. She is accepted at Juilliard, Harvard, and Gotham University, she wants to go to Juliard but something calls her to Gotham. She can't stop going back to Gotham's acceptance letter and ends up researching Githam and talking it over with Chloe and Luka. She doesn't make a decision until Luka tells her once again to follow the call. So she confirms attendance, not telling her parents as she leases an apartment in a safer part of Gotham. She gets in contact with one of her employed designers, Taylor in America and requests her help.
Taylor is the in-between for Marinette and interior designers in Gotham. Helping both sides design the and decorate the penthouse so its move in ready.
Soon after the penthouse is finished Marinette packs everything in her room slowly shipping out boxes to Taylor. A couple nights later when Marinette has everything except necessities shipped her parents request she moves out saying they don't even know her anymore.
"Don't worry I already have an apartment and everything set up near my college. I leave in three days. And you don't know me huh? Well I guess that's because you two haven't really been parents in a while. Now if you'll excuse me."
Tom and Sabine are shocked especially since Lila told them Marinette had decided not to go to college at all. They confront Marinette telling her not to lie about it. She simply sighs sadly and pulls out all three acceptance letters, telling them she isn't telling them which one she decided to go with because they'll no longer be a part of her life.
The day she is set to leave Jagged and Penny are outside in a limo waiting for her. Marinette walks out of the bakery smiling brightly as Jagged gets out hugging her tightly. She thanks him for coming to America with her till she gets settled in. The driver takes her suitcase, putting it in the trunk before opening the door once again letting Jagged and Marinette in. Before getting in and driving to the airport to take Jagged's private jet to America.
They meet Chloe and Audrey at the Gotham airport, both women wanting to welcome Marinette to America. They follow the three to Marinette's penthouse. Chloe is in love with the place and practically begs Marinette to let her live with her. Marinette smiles laughing and tells her she was going to offer her a room after a month or two. Audrey agrees, telling Chloe to just make sure and call her, so she knows they're both safe.
Marinette's penthouse is big! It has two guest rooms, specially for Jagged, Penny, and her designers, when they come to visit. However now one has become Chloe's room. A kitchen her great uncle would be jealous of. A personal gym. A living room with a ping pong table and flat screen tv. 3 bathrooms. Marinette's own designing room, and the Master suite. The Master suite had a loft bed with stairs leading up to it, not a ladder. A large area set up for gaming consoles and a flat screen tv. Underneath the loft was Marinette's desk and desktop. One wall was a complete window showing Gotham from above, and against the other wall was a large luxury dollhouse decked out with hand made furniture. Something Marinette had requested was special for the Kwami to not have to remain in the box twenty four seven.
Marinette has the entire summer to herself and she doesn't have to deal with her birth parents ignoring her. She and Chloe can't wait to explore Gotham, and although Mari wishes she could patrol like she used to. She knows that this is Batman's city, and she doesn't want to get on his bad side. Instead she'll explore on the ground, and fly in her gym, which she had specially fitted with the ceiling covered in bars and ropes.
She even agrees to teach Chloe how to use the rope nest, with a net underneath them of course.
That next day Marinette, Chloe Jagged, and Penny ended up in the Gotham Gazette. Everyone wanted to know why Jagged was in Gotham and who Marinette was. Penny ended up scheduling a video meeting between Jagged and Gotham's main news station.
Jagged- I am not moving here, nor am I here for a show. You see my honorary niece. I have to say honorary because we arent actually related which is stupid! Anyway! She is my personal designer MDC, I only wear her clothing. She just graduated high school and got accepted at Gotham University. So she moved here, and Penny, Fang, and I wanted to spend the beginning of the summer with her! Mari! Come say hello!
Marinette- Uncle I swear if you want dinner you need to stop distracting me. Hello Madame, Monsieur, I'm Marinette more popularly known as MDC. Pleasure to meet you. I'm actually in college for my business degree!
Chloe- Don't forget me! Honestly you two can be ridiculous together utterly-
Jagged and Mari smiling mischievously at her- Ridiculous!
Chloe huffs before turning to the newscaster- Chloe Bourgeois, I am Marinette's main model and top female model. I moved here with Marinette as well, though I won't be going to college, you will see me around the city doing photoshoots.
Penny takes over after Marinette and Chlke give quick interviews. Once the food is done both say goodbye and get excited to eat. However before Jagged hangs up everyone watches Marinette picks up Fang like he is nothing and cuddles him to her chest. Jagged burst into laughter and the interviewer's shocked face.
For the next couple weeks Marinette eagerly explores the city with Chloe, meeting people and unknowingly creating a name for herself. Orphans know that they can come to her for food or clothes and never have to worry about her turning them in.
A few weeks into living there they get an invitation to Bruce Wayne's upcoming charity ball. Marinette quickly gets to work making their outfits in time for the ball. While making sure the Kwami can handle Fang and that Fang knows not to eat them.
The three make waves when they arrive. Penny and Jagged wear matching outfits however they are drawn back and more muted than usual, still capturing their rock n roll vibes. Jaggeds favorite part is the music notes hand stitched on the arms of his jacket and the train of Penny's dress. Meanwhile Marinette's outfit is made to resemble the night sky and when she moves in the light her dress twinkles in the light. Chloe's is made to resemble the sun. It's a layer with yellow and orange tulle.
Jagged and Penny talk to the people conversing while Marinette talks to a few people before being able to edge herself away. While Chloe immerses herself with the other model at the gala. Marinette makes a sizable donation, the money a combination of her own and her designers making sure their names are also on the donation before making her way to the food table and snagging a few cookies eating them slowly while observing the people around her.
Damian stumbles upon her when he finally finds an excuse to slip away. He doesn't speak to her at first just standing there sipping his champagne. They are both silent before Marinette snorts, placing her arm on his shoulder gently and leaning closer to whisper.
Marinette-look to our right the man in the terbile green suit is about to get slapped by his wife
Damian glances over and watches as Mr. Tennor gets slapped hard by his wife causing everyone to go silent as she berates him for thinking he could get away with bringing his Mistress to a charity event. Only for his Mistress to turn on him slapping him as well. Saying that he told her they were finishing their divorce. The Mistress huffs, turning to Mrs. Tennor and apologizes before storming out.
Damian turns away from the facing Marinette as he struggles not to laugh while the room is still silent. Once the talking picks back up Damian introduces himself and Marinette does the same. A little amused by the stars in Damian's eyes when he confirms she's MDC. He admits that her album covers are his favorites of Jagged's and that he has even attempted commissioning her but was unable to get in. Marinette apologizes telling him that recently she's been keeping the same clientele since she was planning on moving. She then pulls out her phone unlocking it and giving it to him.
Marinette-Put your number in and I'll contact you tomorrow about what you want to commission.
The two spend the rest of the night talking and pointing out things about those around them. Marinette's hand remains on his shoulder and soon she is leaning against him, her head resting on his shoulder and his arm around her waist as they whisper back and forth. Pointing out different things to each other and hiding the laughter as best they can.
At one point Damian notices his father starting to walk over and quickly asks her to dance. Marinette is surprised at first but she notices Mr. Wayne makes his way towards them and smirks before nodding. Damian takes her hand leading her to the dance floor. Marinette smiles at him and starts teasing him asking if he didn't want his father to see her with him. Damian quickly tells her that's not it before realizing that she was joking. He rolls his eyes huffing at her saying that his father would make a scene. This causes Marinette to snort before agreeing to help each other hide from him for the night, and they do so successfully. The only one to catch the two is Chloe who gives Damian a quick one over before deeming him good enough for her Marinette. At the end of the night Jagged and Penny find Marinette and return to her penthouse. Marinette says goodbye to Damian kissing his cheek softly before leaving with them.
When Bruce finally catches up to his youngest he huffs wrapping an arm around his shoulder declaring that they were going to have a long talk on the ride home.
The rest of the night his entire family won't stop teasing him about actually dancing with a girl and not getting her number. They keep bringing it up until he smirks holding up his phone.
Damian- That's because she got mine instead.
He leaves the room leaving his brother in slight shock while Alfred holds up a camera and asks if they want to see pictures of the two together.
A week later Marinette meets Robin for the first time when Marinette is cornered in an alley. When Robin drops down startling them Marinette jumps into action stomping on one guy's foot getting him to release her before flipping him over her shoulder. Then she attacks at the two closest to her she flips over one's shoulder dropping behind him and kicking his legs out from under him. Punching him hard in the face. After knocking him out she jumps back as the other guy attempts to hit her. She dodges and blocks his punch before flipping back and crouching launching herself forward and punching him in the gut hard. She steps back breathing hard as she watches Robin take out the last guys. Robin turns to her and looks her over making sure she isn't hurt. Marinette thanks him softly leaning against the wall trying to catch her breath. Once she is calmed down Robin escorts her home.
The next day Damian messages her asking her on a date. Marinette teasingly asks if he's just doing this to convince her to give him a discount and he just groans. Marinette laughs telling him to pick her up at 6.
Marinette and Damian spend the summer getting to know each other and going on dates. Meeting Damian's family was an adventure for her, she loved getting to know the boys, Stephanie, Barbara, and Cass. (Dick and Barbara are definitely married in this one.) She also found it extremely easy to figure out her Damian was Robin, who she always caught stopping by on the roof across from her building.
Chloe bonds phenomenally with Stephanie; the two girls are practically glued at the hip. They spend almost all their time together, and while they don't voice it, the majority of the family had a feeling they were dating.
Soon after Chloe discovers their secret as well. They both decided not to tell them they knew because both girls knew how important secret identities were. The only people that knew Marinette was a hero was Cass and Alfred, and that was because Cass had noticed Tikki and Alfred was Duusuu's holder a long time ago.
The three bond phenomenally well, so much so that Damian is worried Cass may steal his Marinette.
Soon the end of summer is on them and Damian finally asks Marinette to be his girlfriend and she agrees. They are now Gotham's power couple. Pictures and videos of them are everywhere on the news and Twitter.
There are even Tiktoks of them while they're out in public. Marinette's favorite is them dancing in the rain one day both laughing and smiling brightly as some kids join them.
Marinette is named Gotham's new Princess and is praised by Damian's old classmates for breaking through and making the 'Ice Prince' smile and laugh.
Soon after Chloe and Stephanie announce that they are dating as well. Both couples are all over the news and papers.
Halfway through their first year of college Lex Luthor is named President of the United States. This causes the heros to panic however they make no moves instead they begin building a case against him. This comes to a halt when the entire Batfamily is cut off from them. An earthquake wreaks Gotham killing millions and destroying the city and the bridges giving them access to the rest of the states. President Luthor locks down Gotham essentially giving up on the city and allowing no outside contact or help.
It's during this period of time that Marinette and Chloe reveal they know their identities by crashing a meeting in the Batcave.
Marinette- Yes, yes, we know and will explain later, but right now I have a plan on how to get Gotham back on its feet.
Marinette's plan relies heavily on her and Bruce's businesses. The Wayne family and Marinette are going to rebuild Gotham from the bottom up. She tells Bruce that publicly Batman is going to hand over the only way of communication outside of Gotham over to Bruce Wayne during a press conference. Then Bruce will announce their plans of using this resource to continue to bring money into the city through him and Marinette. The family is going to be hiring clean up crews, medical workers, and construction workers to rebuild their city. Marinette and Bruce focus mainly on bringing in money. Jason's focus is on helping orphans, street kids, and newly made orphans. Setting up better Orphanages with better staff and making sure no kid is a meal ticket. Dick's focus is on getting the police force back up with Gordon's help and weeding out as many corrupt cops. Tim focuses on hiring construction workers and clean up crews getting Gotham cleaned up and starting reconstruction. Cass is the one helping find more medical personnel and working with getting hospitals up and going. Damian personally spoke with Gothams bigger villains in Arkham explaining what happened and what Luthor is trying to do. Thanks to him Arkham is pretty much guaranteed no breakouts. In fact many were surprised to see henchmen from different villains joining in on the clean up. Kate also helps out working hard to get electricity back up and running with electricians  while making sure no down wires are active. Stephanie and Chloe are praised for getting out and helping the clean up crews as well as the police with finding bodys of missing citizens.
It takes over a year but the Wayne family, Marinette, and Chloe get Gotham back on its feet better than ever. And they use Luthor's abandonment of Gotham to get him impeached. After they've finally reopened Gotham to the rest of the states, Bruce throws a city wide party. He even sends special catering to Arkham asylum as thanks to the villains for not just remaining there but sending their henchmen out to help.
Bruce gives a big thanks to everyone for all their help with rebuilding their beautiful city.
It's shortly after his speech Damian and Marinette are enjoying the small fair that Bruce paid for. They are walking through the game area sharing cotton candy when Damian gets lost in the moment and asks her to marry him. Marinette laughs pulling him into a deep kiss causing citizens around them to start cheering. She waits until they've quieted down before pulling back.
Marinette-Yes Damian, I'll marry you!
This causes citizens to burst into cheers again. All of them giving their cities power couple their congratulations. While Damian is embarrassed saying that he doesn't have a ring for her. Marinette just smiles and kisses him softly telling him not having a ring isn't a big deal because she would have said yes either way.
A few minutes later a soft spoken Hispanic woman exits her jewelry booth giving them two small rings.
The woman-This is for until he finally gets you one Miss. Free of charge, consider it a thanks for helping my city and a congratulations present.
She squeezes both their hands smiling softly at the two and congratulates them before leaving them.
After the city party, they finally address Marinette and Chloe knowing their identities. It happens at Marinette's rebuilt penthouse. Marinette smiles telling them that it was the Kwami that really pointed it out to her. While Chloe tells them she caught Stephanie in her outfit one night and just pretended she had been asleep the entire time. Everyone but Alfred is confused about the Kwami until Marinette asks them to come out. The Kwami fly in spreading around the room, Duusuu sits calmly on Alfred's shoulder, Pollen resting herself in Chloe's hair, while Tikki and Plagg float by Marinette's shoulders.
Marinette-Let me introduce you to Kwami. Gods and Goddesses that grant their chosens their powers. Tikki and Plagg are the two most powerful Destruction and Bad Luck, Creation and Good Luck. I'm Tikki's chosen, I am-
Tim-Ladybug...you're Paris's missing heros.
Marinette sighs softly nodding thinking about her last day as Ladybug
Chloe- I was Honeywell for a short while until I moved to america. Pollen and I were a great team.
Pollen petting her hair gently-We were the best my Queen.
Marinette-Paris started relying on me for everything. The police stopped doing their jobs and when I finally defeated the villain that was plaguing them, it wasn't enough. I loved being a hero but they expected me to do everything. You all know that it isn't possible to do everything.
Bruce asks why she never went out as Ladybug. Marinette smiles and tells him that while she misses it she knew that this was Batman's city and that metas weren't allowed.
Marinette-I know technically I'm not one, but Tikki gives me powers.
After that Marinette begins to train with Bruce so that she can hit the streets with them, without the Miraculous. Chloe while learning how to fight with Stephanie declines becoming a vigilante with them. Marinette loves every second of it, she loves actually having a mentor to teach her. And it felt nice to have a father figure in her life once again. Six months later she is joining the family for her first night of patrol as BlackBird.
Blackbird spends most of her time with Batwomem, on patrol and missions. Her first big villain was Riddler, however before he could even utter a riddle Blackbird tore into him for his terrible outfit. To the point that Riddler practically threw himself at Batman in tears crying and telling him his new protégé was mean.
Blackbird is a rising hero in Gotham and the hero community. Soon she begins attending Justice League meetings with the others considering joining. It is there she meets Wonder Women, and asks how her mother is doing. Diana realizes quickly that she is speaking with a Guardian and finds out later that Blackbird is the current Ladybug as well.
The family also begins planning Damian and Marinette's public wedding and their private wedding. Stephanie is the one that asks her if she wants to have the private wedding in Paris, everyone only a little surprised she straight out refuses.
Marinette-I said goodbye all that time ago, and I don't think I wish to return.
That night she asks Bruce to walk her down the aisle along with her grandfather. When asked about her own parents Marinette smiles sadly telling them that they no longer consider her their daughter, so they were not invited. Bruce smiles softly brushing Marinette's hair down gently with his hand before agreeing to walk her. She asks Chloe to be her Maid of Honor and Kate, Cass, and Stephanie to be her Bridesmaid
Three weeks later they are sending out invites to people for their private wedding in 6 months and the public one in a year.
Marinette asks Jagged and Luka to be the entertainment for both nights and they agree. Sabine and Tom are not invited; they find out when Gina shows up excited asking why they never told her Marinette had met someone in America. They are even more surprised to find out Rolland is closing up shop and going to the wedding as well. Gina is upset to find out they kicked Marinette out and tears into them. At this point Lila comes into the bakery and tries to sway Gina onto her side. Gina just scoffs and shakes her head, telling her she'd never believe another girl over her granddaughter.
Gina storms out of the bakery refusing to talk to her son or daughter-in-law. After she leaves they google their daughter trying to find out who she is engaged to, they find out everything about Marinette helping rebuild Gotham out of her own pocket with the help of Bruce Wayne, and her engagement to Damian Wayne.
They try every attempt to contact her even going through old friends only to find she changed her number. They don't hear anything more of her until a year later when their wedding is broadcast from Gotham. Tom cries when Marinette is escorted down the aisle by her Grandfather and Bruce Wayne. She stops hugging them both tightly before taking Damian's hands, their eyes unable to leave each other, as they say their vows.
Marinette- Before I even had colleges lined up one of my best friends told me to follow the call. A few weeks later three colleges accepted me, but only one kept calling me back, Gotham University. I couldn't stop researching the city, I couldn't get it out of my head. It was like something was waiting for me here, so I decided to accept Gotham University. I moved here with one of my friends expecting an adventure. I didn't think my adventure would lead me to the love of my life, but it did. I love you Damian, with all my heart. My next adventure is standing by your side till the end of time.
Damian- Marinette Wayne, no I did not mess up. Marinette, you have been a part of my family since the moment you placed your hand on my shoulder and pointed out Mr. Tennor was about to be slapped. Our entire first night together felt magical as cheesy as it sounds. Every day after was amazing, I couldn't believe I met someone as amazing as you. When the earthquake happened and you stepped up helping my family rebuild the city, I knew I wanted you by my side for the rest of my life. So much so that I proposed to you spur of the moment in the middle of the fair, I will forever be grateful that you agreed to marry me. My heart, body, and soul belong to you and solely you Marinette till the end of time.
 When the priest pronounces them husband and wife and announces the kiss Marinette grabs his face gently pulling him down into a deep kiss.
The reception is also broadcast to the public with many famous people offering their congratulations to the happy couple to the camera before heading into the party. Marinette and Damian are the last to arrive and while they don't talk to the camera they stop posing together for the camera. Both unwilling to even leave the other side. Throughout the reception all the speeches are broadcasted. The final speech is from the newly married couple. Both of them thanking everyone that came to the wedding. Telling them that they wouldn't be where they were without their friends and family in the room. They share a sweet kiss in front of the crowd at the end of their speech.
Chloe moves into an apartment with Stephanie, while Damian moves into Marinette's penthouse. They are hardly seen separate from each other, pictures of them together are all over the internet and news.
Damian also leaves the title of Robin behind becoming Redbird becoming partners with Blackbird. The two partners are soon dubbed the new Dynamic Duo of Gotham.
They both graduate college together, Damian going into Wayne Enterprises taking over as Ceo with Tim when Bruce steps down. While Marinette built her own fashion empire soon rivaling Audrey's. Her fashion is known around the world, but out of all the cities the most of her sales come from Gotham. Gothamites still not forgetting the young adult that spent billions to help them rebuild.
Soon Marinette and Damian discover that Marinette is pregnant. The two are ecstatic to be parents, Marinette begs Bruce to hold a big family dinner with everyone, and he agrees. Halfway through dinner Bruce finally asks why Marinette called all of them together. Marinette smiles softly before announcing that she is pregnant.
The family burst into cheers, everyone extremely excited and talking with each other about what the baby's name would be.
A few months later they find out its twins. One boy and one girl. They agree on the names Thomas John Wayne and Mary Martha Wayne. This causes both Bruce and Dick to tear up when told.
When the twins are born they are all Gothamites can talk about. The new Wayne twins, everyone can't wait to watch them grow up.
In Paris their grandparents hold on to pictures they find online, knowing they'll never get to know them. That they'll never get to see their daughter again either.
let’s say, hypothetically, i wrote a byler miraculous ladybug au because i thought of it this morning and it’s stuck in my head now.
(lots of rambling under the cut 😭)
so will would be marinette/ladybug and mike would be adrien/cat noir because it just works.
in their civilian forms, will has a seemingly unrequited crush on mike. meanwhile, mike does like him, he just doesn’t realize this because he likes ladybug (who still is will anyways)
in their superhero forms, mike is always flirting with will. he isn’t as obvious as cat noir, but will is oblivious so sometimes he doesn’t even pick up on it.
lucas and max as nino and alya, but i don’t know who would be who. i love madwheeler and byclair though, so it’ll probably be max as nino and lucas as alya
el would be kagami, except her and marinette would get along from the start because willel <3
actually, in this au, i’m gonna make them siblings. sabine is joyce and tom is hopper.
as for hawkmoth, idk who to make him ?? because i was thinking if mike was adrien, his dad is ted. and, well, ted is ted. 💀
so, maybe henry creel as hawkmoth, and we just forget the whole hawkmoth is adriens dad thing? or, papa. because henry is evil because the human species is a pest or smth and papa says he was trying to do what was best for the kids. (like gabriel is trying to do what’s best for his wife)
maybe it can just be mike isn’t a famous model like adrien, but his parents are still rich, and don’t pay attention to him much.
also, nancy and jonathan are off at college, and holly doesn’t exist i guess. i don’t know where to place her, unless she was manon?
and chloe, lila, and sabrina. i don’t know. possibly angela for chloe/lila but i dont see mike putting up with her shit 💀 idk for sabrina either but if chloe is angela then maybe that guy who looks like will but is angela’s friend
so, in summary:
marinette: will
adrien: mike
alya: lucas (?)
nino: max (?)
kagami: el
sabine: joyce
tom: hopper
gabriel: ted
emelie: karen
manon: holly (possibly?)
hawkmoth: papa or henry(?)
luka: MIKHAIL 😍
Burned Beginnings, chapter 1
Novel decided to do Adrienette April on a whim. Each post until the end of April (or such is the plan) will have 3 prompts in it.
She also discovered she’s very rusty. Bear with me here. XD
Next>>
1. AU
Marinette had thought she’d grown used to Chloe’s bullying, having to had endure it since they were little. However, with high school came a new name that became a regular part of Chloe’s vocabulary, alongside “hot” and “sexy” and “dreamboat”.
“And Marinette would never catch the eye of someone so perfect.”
Honestly, Marinette had thought she was over it, but on a particularly bad day, she’d snapped back at Chloe.
“Well, clearly he isn’t that perfect if he fawns over someone whose only redeeming quality is pretending to be pretty.”
That had led to a fire alarm getting pulled and Marinette left to blame for it. Anyone who tried to come to her defense was shut down, and Marinette had been suspended.
Which had started an all-out war.
After being stuck at home, wrongfully, for three solid days, Marinette had snapped. She’d decided that if Chloe was going to build a bonfire and poor on the gasoline that she would be there with a match. By senior year, Marinette’s record had taken a hit for it but Chloe’s reputation was in the toilet.
Marinette would take what she could get.
However, she supposed she hadn’t fully thought out the consequences. As much as she played with fire, she should have realized she’d get burned sooner or later.
And she did. Third degree.
We regret to inform you your application has been denied.
Those were words she grew tired of seeing yet came back from every school she applied to. With that in mind, she’d called up her girl friends to tell them what had happened.
“Hey, Marinette,” Alya had said upon seeing the letters. “Don’t get me wrong, I feel really bad for you. But… I did warn you—”
“I get it,” Marinette had surrendered, knowing that Alya was completely right. “You tried to warm me of the consequences, and now I’m paying for them.”
The girls had slipped into a moment of silence before Alix spoke up. “Hey, I can ask Max if he can do a little digging so you at least know why, yeah?”
Marinette had raised a brow but agreed. “Only if he’s not busy with his own college stuff.”
“Oh please, he’s too smart for college. He started up some robotics company in his free time and is already making bank on it.”
It took a week for Max to come back with a full report. Marinette had to give him props for working fast as he did.
“Hacking into the system was the first thing I could think of,” he’d explained. “In the side notes, there was mention of your attendance record and suspensions.”
“They were all wrongful suspensions,” Alix had countered.
“Doesn’t matter to the school,” Max had said with a shrug. “But even then, I thought there had to be more to this than just attendance. There were other students who had the same notes yet were accepted. So I shifted focus to digging up background on all the directors of the school. After hacking a few emails, I discovered Audrey Bourgeois happens to know a lot of directors or administration members in all the fashion schools of France. Considering the contents of most of those emails, it has become clear that Marinette was wrongfully barred from every school she’d applied to. And that there’s nothing that can be done about it because we only discovered such scandal through highly illegal means.”
“So…” Alya had begun, turning her attention to Marinette. “Where does that leave you, M?”
Marinette’s lips had pursed in thought. It was funny how things turned out, because despite her anger, she somehow had been peace with what she was faced with. “I think that the last place I want to be is in an industry full of liars and people who use their words to manipulate anyone they damn well please.”
That was how she ended up working full-time in her parents’ bakery. They never said a word about it, but she knew they were disappointed. Of course they weren’t mad about her still being here and working in the bakery with them, and she knew her parents still loved her more than anything.
But she knew that with as many dreams as she had and had shared with them, they were disappointed on her surrendering it all.
“Sorry, Maman, Papa,” she whispered into the empty kitchen as she plopped the baguettes she formed onto a baking tray. “Just give me a little time to figure things out. Seems like lofty dreams are a lot easier to crush than I realized.”
 2. Rebellion
A son can only bear the world of their parent’s expectations for so long. He wasn’t Atlas, but after a few years of acting like him, Adrien decided to dump the globe. To hell if it broke. He’d smirk in satisfaction at his father’s disappointment.
At the very least, the fact he no longer had the weight of the world of his shoulders made the far-too-common disappointment lecture easier to bear.
His strategic rebellion had started harmless enough. At sixteen with a rapidly growing forced modeling career, he’d given his father an ultimatum: he gets to grow out his hair, or it all goes. It had been shocking the amount of power the razor in his hand had given him. It was the perfect harmless threat. His father had been furious, throwing a fit about Adrien acting like a child, but after being gaslit for so long, Adrien had finally come to realize the abusive techniques for what they were. And he wasn’t going to roll over and take it any longer.
That day had ended with Adrien being grounded but ultimately the victor of their stand-off.
After that, he’d begun ditching certain events. He’d always liked fencing, so he never ditched those lessons, but attendance for his home-school lessons, mandarin lessons, and piano lessons had all been decided on a whim. His father had hardly been pleased by this, but to Adrien, that was the point. The lectures soon washed into one another so much that Adrien could practically recite the words that roll off his father’s tongue verbatim. He’d come to realize they were strategically meant to hurt. To humiliate. And as such, he’d stopped taking them personally.
Then came the fun part.
He got earrings. Honestly, Adrien hadn’t really cared for the piercings one way or another. In one way, there were a hassle, and caring for new piercings was a pain in the butt. However, they had been worth it to see his dad so royally pissed off.
Then came the ditching of certain photoshoots. There was a reason Adrien had held off on this one for so long: he cared about the people running the shoot. There was no reason they needed to be collateral in this battle between him and his father. After all, they were just employees doing their job; Adrien didn’t want them to suffer for his rebellion. With that in mind, Adrien had planned out his absences of these photoshoots. Again, he didn’t want to drag anyone else into his mess, so he had always organized a replacement model. Shoot would always go on, just not as planned.
And that was enough to drive his father mad.
It always put a smile on Adrien’s face.
The last touch was an unexpected one. He hadn’t even thought about going this far. Yet, a friend of his not only put the idea in his head, but gave him the art to go with it.
“Is that a tattoo?”
Oh, how he wished he would have taken a picture of his father’s face. The large black cat surrounded in a green, wispy smoke that wrapped around his forearm was truly a work of art. He’d had to think carefully about this decision, but in the end, he quite liked it.
“Yeah. I’m eighteen; I can ink myself if I want to. Why? Is that a problem?”
Adrien might be wearing a cat on his arm, but the grin on his lips was downright wolfish.
Eventually, it all had come to a head and blew up in his face. Adrien couldn’t say he’d been surprised. In fact, he had been fully expecting it. He’d already found an apartment to rent and had begun sneaking most of his important things over there before his father could kick him out. So when Adrien found himself kicked to the curb as soon as he was handed his general education certificate, Adrien had been prepared.
But mostly, he was free.
What a joyous day it was.
However, now that he was free, he knew he needed a job. Not because he needed the money, per se, but because it was time he started acting like the average adult. He never got to go to school, so now, it was time to pick up a mundane, first job that everyone hated but would “serve him well later in life”. Mostly, it would just be something normal.
The easy places to apply were food shops and retail stores. He’d work one for a while before deciding what his next life step would be. Chloe had been quick to offer him a job at her father’s hotel, but Adrien was vehemently against the idea. Over the span of his rebellion, Chloe’s behavior and attitude towards him had grown notably worse, and he had a feeling cutting ties with her would be his next step in life.
In the end, he’d scored a job he definitely was underqualified for. He’d applied partly out of spite and partly because ‘why not?’ He’d heard about this bakery enough times from Chloe to know the “cruel bitch who did nothing but mercilessly harass her” lived here, and that was enough to pique Adrien’s curiosity. At a bakery as popular as that, though, he hadn’t been sure he’d get a call. And when he did, he knew he would do everything he could to present himself as a reliable and respectable man eager to work, but he never thought he’d end up hitting it off with the owner.
Which somehow ended up with him agreeing to work at Tom and Sabine’s Patisserie.
Going into that job, he swore to himself he would do what he could to prove himself worthy. He knew there had to have been better applicants, so Adrien didn’t want to disappoint the very kind owners who dared give him a chance. Soon, his days were spent working hard while covered in flour and surrounded by bread all day. Well, bread and all the sharp and hot objects in your average kitchen.
He just didn’t think that would include a wicked sharp and smoking hot young lady that happened to be his bosses’ daughter.
 3. Game Night
“Mama, Papa, please go. You two hardly ever get out of the house.”
Marinette watched her maman put a hand over the mouthpiece of her phone while her papa turned to her. “But I’ll be busy that night. We have a massive order scheduled for the next day.”
“I can handle that,” Marinette quickly countered with a grin. “You know I’m a night owl, anyway. I’ll get it done, and you two can go enjoy game night with your friends.”
Her parents spared each other a glance. “Are you sure about that, Marinette?” Maman asked.
“Positive. Papa already talks to the bread too much, so he really should talk to people for a change. And while you have to deal with people all day, I know you want more than to just have short conversations filled with small talk. So please, go out and have a social life for once.”
With one last look, her parents relented. With a smile, her mother took her hand off the phone. “We’ll be there.”
Papa turned to her with a grin. “I was going to spend that time teaching Adrien how to handle those orders. I can leave teaching him in your hands, right?”
Her grin fell. Adrien Agreste. What the hell a washed-out model was doing working at her parents’ bakery was beyond her. Admittedly, over the last month she’d been working with him, the most she’d say is that maybe he wasn’t too bad a guy. Papa certainly sung his praises. But that still didn’t answer the question of why he was working here of all places. After all, he was Chloe’s friend and suspected lover.
“Don’t think I don’t see that look on your face, Marinette,” her maman chastised. She’d hung up and set her phone down already, fully giving her attention to her daughter. “No matter your personal feelings, you really should give him a chance.”
“He’s a good kid,” Papa said. “Maybe a little rough around the edges, but I can tell he really does want to learn and do his best.”
Marinette sighed. This wasn’t the first time this talk had happened. She remembered having a talk with her parents after his first interview. There were a few other people who were far more qualified for the job, but Papa said he liked Adrien’s personality and spirit the best. So in the end, all Marinette’s objections had fallen upon deaf ears.
She sighed. “Fine. I’ll give him a chance.”
With a smile that made Marinette loath to disappoint him, her papa patted her head affectionately. “Thank you, Marinette. I think you’d like him if you got to know him.”
Not likely. “I’ll do my best, Papa.”
“Really, Marinette,” her maman warned. “Unless you have a valid reason, you need to put aside your feelings for the sake of the bakery running smoothly. Can you manage that?”
Appropriately chastised, Marinette bowed her head in embarrassment. Maman brought up a good point: Marinette shouldn’t let her anger towards Adrien affect the bakery. Her parents didn’t deserve that. “Yes, Maman. I’m sorry.”
With a smile, her maman came up and wrapped her in a hug. “Thank you, Marinette.”
Marinette hugged her back. “No, thank you, Maman and Papa, for everything. I won’t let you down.”
Papa wrapped his arms around both her and Maman. “Thank you, sweetheart. We love you.”
“I love you, too.”
As cute as a lot of the fanon dynamics for most ships are, I wanna be clear that there are VERY few ships in miraculous that I would support in canon. (Lukadrien, djwifi, Julerose, and Marcnath are like the only ones that really come to mind but I’m sure I’m missing a few). I really like a lot of the cute fanart and fanfic depictions of the love square and lukanette but in canon I HATE those ships because pretty much all of them are super toxic and have like a thousand problems. When discussing miraculous (mainly just irl but I might do it more on here) I shit on Marinette a lot while defending Adrien but I want to be clear he is also very creepy at times. Marinette is just way worse about it, but as chat noir Adrien is like… super pushy. Mainly in villain aus I just do villain Marinette because I like the idea of Adrien realizing he was wrong and improving while Marinette fully goes off the deep end. It could easily be the other way around though I just like exploring the former more. I also like Adrien more and he has more of an excuse, doesn’t make it okay though. While Adrien is shown to have a terrible life where no one is teaching him how to act or properly handle love and his feeling, Marinette has a great life. Loving parents who love each other and spend lots of time with her. While Tom and Sabine aren’t perfect they’re pretty good role models. So why does Marinette act like this? Where did she get these stalker tendencies from and who made her think this is okay? Unfortunately it seems like pretty much everyone in her life and even some adults are condoning this behavior and even seem to think it’s cute and romantic. The only time I can remember that someone called her out on it was Alix in gigantitan who said her knowing adrien’s full schedule is creepy, WHICH IT IS! To reply to Alix’s comment, rose goes “I know! It’s so romantic!” I love you rose, but no it’s not. I like the idea of while all her other friends realize as they grow up that this behavior is not okay that Marinette just doesn’t because she’s too obsessed. But back to canon, again the fact that everyone seems to think this is romance and love is BAD WRITING. They’re not intentionally written to be bad or to condone stalking and obsession, they’re just not written well.
To be clear though I mean they’re both 14, they have time to change, I just like exploring darker themes sometimes haha. I’m rambling but the consensus is that both Marinette and Adrien are very creepy and pushy and I don’t exactly even think it’s a character flaw, it’s mostly just bad writing. They aren’t intentionally written to be this way, astruc just doesn’t know how to write characters. Yeah actual teenager can act like this (well more realistically actual teenagers act like Adrien, if actual teens acted like Marinette they’d be in jail), but it’s not generally to this extent. He’s not even trying to write bad characters they’re both supposed to be the good guys, astruc just seems to have trouble recognizing toxic qualities and the fact that they are just that, toxic. The fact that astruc can’t realize this is problematic is just… concerning. He’s a grown man, how does he not realize this? I mean he’s certainly not the only one there’s probably millions of people that think these approaches are romance. But it’s most concerning because astruc isn’t just putting these in bad Twitter pick up artist posts or tik toks on how to make women love you, he’s pumping these ideals into a CHILDRENS SHOW. That’s aimed at like 10 year olds. This show sells merch meant for children. These ideals are being shown to children and it just concerns me that some kids may grow up thinking that what Marinette and Adrien do is romance. Adrien is better than Marinette because mostly he’s just trying to pursue ladybug and flirting can be harmless, unless she asks him to stop. Oh wait! She did. She’s expressed clearly she’s in love with someone else and that she’s not interested, yet chat is still attempting to pursue her. It just worries me that kids will see this and think it’s okay to keep pursuing someone even when they make it clear they aren’t interested. But miraculous isn’t even the only property to do this, it’s actually pretty common unfortunately. But I absolutely do think Marinette is worse. God of that boy knew half the shit she did and wasn’t so nice i think he’d file a restraining order against her. She’s LITERALLY broken into his house on MULTIPLE occasions, she’s snuck into his house like in party crasher which tangent real quick. At the end of the episode nino says that he should’ve just been honest with her and shouldn’t have tried to hide it from her. Which is guess is fair, but there’s not a problem with trying to have a boys only party. I mean the concept of that has… some issues but if they didn’t want her there they don’t owe it to her to let her in. And the fact that she couldn’t just let it go? No, she decided she had to sneak in when she WASNT INVITED. She also does this in Gabriel agreste but I can understand her motives a bit better because Chloe was gonna try and expose her to Gabriel and this would possibly negatively affect Adrien which I agree wasn’t fair so I can understand her wanting to stop this from happening. Still not okay, but I’m more understanding about that. Anyways back to party crasher, nino and Marinette both say that they were doing it for Adrien. But no Marinette, you were not! You were doing it for yourself because you can’t stand him doing something without you. But I mean he does stuff without her all the time why did it bother her so much this time? It’s not like it was a birthday party or something extra special, I mean all that there really was was that “his dad wasn’t there” which like… why would that be a reason for her to want to see him? There’s been plenty of occasions when he was without his dad before and I don’t think she tried to break in then. But more than just breaking in, she’s also like super determined to go to all his photo shoots or events which again… why… HE CAN HAVE A LIFE WITHOUT YOU GIRL. I won’t go on about that, let’s get onto the stalking. Yeah she knows his schedule for like the next three years which with his dad being the way he is I can get why that would exist but my problem is… why and HOW does she have access to it? (Will continue)
Stomach Bug Ch10
Doctor’s Visit
Alright I am back with another chapter and with this I bring something special. I want all of you to help me decide what our lovely Mari will be having so place your votes in the poll.
LINK REMOVED
Thank you to everyone who voted I’ll be using the results gathered and I hope everyone’s happy with what the final tally was.
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.
“Damian’s not home right?” Tim asked, making his way into the Batcave where all the other bats sans Damian were sitting around the computer.
“No, tomorrow’s pixies first appointment with that new doctor so he decided to stay the night to give her moral support since she’s never been to a gyno before.” Jason said looking up from the files he was reading over, “honestly from what I’ve heard about what happens during those exams I don’t blame her for wanting a little support before going.”
“It’s all routine and can’t be any worse than the baby-making process.” Dick hummed typing away on the computer.
“I think that’s enough talk about that; why did you want to know Tim?” Bruce asked looking over at his second youngest.
“I found more info on Marinette thought I’d share with you all while Damian wasn’t here to stop me or compromise the data,” he explained walking over to the bat computer connecting his laptop to it.
The other men all sat silently around waiting for Tim to begin his presentation as he sorted through different encrypted files before bringing up a few pictures. “To begin her original name was Marinette Dupain-Cheng and her parents were bakers back in France, Tom Dupain and Sabine Cheng,” Tim said pointing them out.
“Marinette told me they essentially kicked her out,” Bruce said crossing his arms, “They believed the words of some liar and threw her out. She lived with a friend her last year in Paris before moving here.”
“Wait, hold on,” Dick said turning to Bruce, “Her parents kicked her out when she was still a minor? Isn’t that illegal?”
“Yes, and they knew that, she mentioned that when she told her grandmother she came and took custody from her parents, who seemed more than happy to hand it over, and let her stay to finish out that school year with a friend then moved here to finish out her schooling.” Bruce nodded.
“Yeah that all tracks to what I found,” Tim nodded, showing them documents next, “I have here the transfer of custody, her transcript for moving here, as well as the adoption papers for Ivy and Harley. I also went ahead and started running some background checks on the people still in her phone.” he added typing away.
“Anyone, we should be worried about?” Jason asked leaning back in his seat content to just watching Tim work, “She told me a bit about one of her friends’ guy seemed a bit sketch when he was a Paris hero though now I think he’s meh but never got a name from her.”
“You said he was one of the heroes?” Tim asked looking over at Jason.
“Yeah, she said he gave up his miraculous after the fight because his dad was the villain and he didn’t think Ladybug would want anything to do with him if she found out who he was so he bit the bullet and gave it up. He left Paris shortly after to live with his aunt.” Jason said looking around at the others.
“If the villain were outed then it’d be easy to find out who his son was,” Tim said, turning back to the computer the clicking of keys filling the Batcave as he searched through multiple French websites. The other three just watched as screen after screen flew by before settling on a trashy tabloid-like website.
“I don’t think this is what could be considered a credible source Timmy,” Dick winced looking over all the clickbait titles and the like to dislike ratio on the articles.
“No, but it does have quite a bit on the Paris heroes,” Tim said scrolling through to articles that had more likes and seemed of better quality, “here we go, Hawkmoth Defeated: How a Recluse Held Paris Hostage.”
The four men all leaned forward reading through the article that detailed the final battle between Hawkmoth and the Paris Heroes with a written description of what happened as well as a video that seemed to have been taken from a mix of sources and spliced together. The article detailed what Hawkmoth had been doing for three years and in the end, revealed him and his accomplice to be Gabriel Agrest and his assistant Nathalie Sancoeur.
“So we know that Gabriel Agrest was the big bad so who was his kid?” Jason asked as Tim typed away.
“Adrien Agrest, teen model for the Agrest Fashion Label. Looks like after his dad got taken down he had to go through months of interrogations and court hearings just to prove his innocence. His mother was found dead in the Agrest Mansion and with no one else it looks like his aunt took him in once he was cleared.” Tim said reading through the files he dug up.
“That would mean he probably gave his miraculous to Pixie right after he was cleared. If he was going to do something sketch he’d just hold onto it.” Jason said.
“He probably was so messed up after the battle he didn’t want any connection to the miraculous I mean his father turned evil because of them.” Dick hummed crossing his arms.
The four fell silent as they took in the information they had received, “Well Tim you got anything on that liar?” Jason asked, tilting his head.
“This whole blog is about that liar.” Tim said motioning to the tabloid, “I’ll email you guys the link and read it at your own pace there is years of garbage on here.”
“Then with that, I think we should all be heading out. We'll go over more of what Tim found later for now we should get to work,” Bruce said, getting to his feet and moving to change into his costume.
The other three nodded as Tim packed up his laptop and stored it away before they all got dressed and took their way out of the cave to begin their nightly rounds.
“So what do you think they found?” Marinette asked cuddled up to Damian's side on her bed with the hyenas crowded around them on either side resting their heads over their laps, “Chloe didn’t exactly hold back on mentioning certain names.”
“I would be surprised if Drake didn’t have an entire dossier on all your friends.” Damian said rubbing Marinette’s back, “You know he probably took all your contact info right?”
“Yeah oh well,” she shrugged turning to bury her face into his neck, “They were bound to find out eventually, might as well let some of the greatest detectives around have some fun piecing my life together.”
Damian hummed closing his eyes as he relaxed back into the plush pillows covering Marinette’s bed, “Are you nervous about tomorrow?” he asked.
“A little,” she sighed tightening her grip on his shirt, “Mum told me what to expect and said she’d sit in the room with me if I wanted her to, you can’t exactly join me since we can’t have this whole thing getting out.”
“I’ll be waiting here for you when you get home don’t worry,” he said kissing her forehead, “now try to get some sleep you barely got any at the manor.”
Marinette nodded letting out a deep sigh as she shifted around to get comfortable between Damian and the hyenas. Eventually, she settled down and dozed off into a dreamless sleep with Damian rubbing her back and the familiar weight of Bud’s head on her hip.
Damian stayed up for a bit longer listening to the quiet sounds around and thinking over what to do for the next day. He eventually made his way into a dreamless sleep as well a bit after one AM when he finally managed to shut his mind off.
“Marigold are you ready?” Ivy called from the kitchen as she looked through her back to make sure she had everything.
“Almost,” Marinette said, coming out in a comfortable knit sweater and skinny jeans, “I was looking for my purse. I think Lou took it,” she said, looking around in the usual spots for her bag.
“I’ll keep your wallet and Tiki in my bag we have to get going,” Ivy said, grabbing Marinette’s wallet off the counter and stowing it in her bag as Tiki flew over and settled into the bag as well giving Ivy a nod to close the bag once she was comfortable.
Marinette nodded and went back to her room grabbing her phone quickly checking it before putting it away in her pocket and leaned down kissing Damian’s cheek as he groaned slowly blinking his eyes open. “I’m leaving I’ll text you when we’re on our way back.”
“Okay habibti call me if you need me.” he yawned reaching up and pulled her down for a kiss, “good luck with your appointment I’ll see you after.”
Marinette nodded kissing him again as Ivy shouted for Marinette that they were leaving. She gave Damian another quick peck on the lips before pulling back and ran out to meet Ivy at the door. “Had to get my phone.” she smiled stepping out of the apartment and waited as Ivy locked up and ushered down to the cab waiting outside.
“Now remember Marigold just relax and everything will go smoothly, it will be uncomfortable but it won’t hurt okay.” Ivy said, settling into the cab beside Marinette and rubbing her back, “I can sit inside the room with you if need me to.”
“I think I’ll be okay,” Marinette said, taking a few calming breaths as they made their way to the doctor’s office. Once they arrived Marinette was starting to look a little green as they went through the check-in process and filled out their info.
Waiting for her name to be called felt like an eternity and her stomach was twisting into knots as she watched other women come and go through the office. Marinette sat there twisting her fingers in her sweater and took slow deep breaths trying to calm herself when the door opened, “Marinette?” a nurse called.
Marinette shot up her face going from pale to a deep red as she made her way to the nurse. The nurse smiled and ushered her inside and went about getting her blood pressure, “Hmm little elevated but I think it could just be your nerves.” the nurse smiled, and her height and weight.
“Alright girly so here’s your room I’m going to need you to completely strip down underwear and all then put this paper gown on opening to the front and here’s a privacy blanket for your legs.” the nurse said motioning to the items on the bed, “the doctor will be in here shortly.”
Marinette nodded as the nurse closed the door leaving her alone, “It’s just a check-up.” Marinette mumbled undressing and taking her time to carefully fold her clothes and set them on the table in the corner of the room. She put on the provided gown and settled on the table keeping her phone clenched tightly in her hand as she waited for the doctor to arrive.
It felt like an eternity when there was a knock at the door and the doctor stepped in, a petite redhead with a smattering of freckles covering her pale face, “Hello Miss Marinette I’m Doctor Amelia.” she smiled coming over to shake Marinette’s hand, “I see you’re here for a wellness exam and you’re expecting.”
“Uh yes,” Marinette coughed her voice, cracking a bit from her nerves, “I uh just found out a few weeks ago.” she blushed, gripping the paper blanket covering her legs.
Doctor Amelia nodded looking over the file, “This is your first-ever wellness exam yes?” she asked, taking a seat.
Marinette nodded keeping her head bowed trying to not let her nerves take over her.
“Okay sweetie we’ll go at your pace so just relax okay.” Doctor Amelia smiled setting the file aside and grabbed her stethoscope.
~.~.~.~
The entire exam didn’t take more than five minutes before the doctor was cleaning up and stepping out to give Marinette some privacy to redress. Marinette wasted no time pulling her clothes back on and sending Damian a text saying, ‘Making this baby was less violating than that.’ before putting her phone in her pocket as there was another knock, “Miss Marinette if you're ready you can go to the front and schedule the next appointment.” Doctor Amelia said through the door.
Marinette walked over opening the door her face still a bit flushed, “Okay uh when should I come back next?” she asked.
“I think in a month should be enough time and we should be able to hear the heartbeat by then.” she smiled, “Your moms waiting for you upfront, and here’s the card to one of my nurses if you have any questions feel free to call her okay.”
“Thank you.” Marinette nodded, taking the card and quickly went to the front to meet back up with Ivy and schedule the next appointment and made their way out to walk back home.
“I think we should pick up some breakfast.” Ivy smiled putting a hand on Marinette’s shoulder as they walked. “There’s a nice little bakery around the corner should we pick up something from there?”
“Yeah, that sounds good.” Marinette nodded following Ivy down to the bakery and got in line looking over the different pastries they had for sale. Between the two of them, they picked out an array of sweet and savory options with Marinette making sure to pick out some vegetarian options for Damian. Soon they were walking out with two large bags and were walking down the street back to their home.
Upon entering both had to hold their bags of treats high out the reach of Bud and Lou trying hard to reach the goodies hidden away. Harley quickly came over pulling them back by their collars so the two could set the bags down in the kitchen.
Damian was settled at the table and got up coming over to help them unpack as Harley got some coffee and tea going as they all settled down to enjoy a bit of a late breakfast. Marinette ate her croissants and fruit danish taking small bites so as not to upset her stomach any further. The small group spoke of anything and everything as they enjoyed their meal. Harley taking the time to pick out the meat from her sandwich to give to the two hyenas and Damian holding a small conversation with Tiki as she munched on the cookies Marinette picked out.
“So when are you going back?” Harley asked looking over at Marinette as she bit into her bagel.
“In a month, the doctor said we should be able to hear the heartbeat by then,” Marinette said, finishing off her danish, “I don’t know if I’m ready.”
“You’ll be fine Marigold we’re here for you every step.” Ivy smiled ruffling her hair, “Now I think you should go lay down, maybe settle your stomach and your nerves. You were looking a bit green and tense after your appointment.”
Marinette nodded, finishing her tea and croissant before heading back to her room to lay down. Damian finished off his breakfast quickly and excused himself before following Marinette leaving the two sirens and the small goddess at the table.
“At least he’s good for our little Mari.” Harley hummed sipping her coffee, “So long as he makes her happy he can stick around I guess but not too sure I forgive him for knocking our baby up.”
“Oh, now you don’t like him?” Ivy chuckled, raising her eyebrow at her.
“Oh, I adore the kid but you know one of us has to give him the shovel talk eventually.” Harley chuckled getting up to clean the dishes and put the leftovers away.
All You Had To Do Was Stay (Adrienette) (2/4)
Summary:
Three years ago, Marinette revealed her identity to him. Three years ago, he promised to wait in a hotel room for her. Three years ago, she opened the door to find it empty.
Now she's expected to play nice with him, since she's the maid of honor and he's unfortunately the best man. But old habits die hard, and old feelings die harder.
"This is a wedding, not a death march, Marinette."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They had gone overboard.
Marinette had one job, and they had gone overboard.
Okay, she had five jobs—but at the moment it felt like only one, and at the moment, that job was completely and utterly failed.
Every single surface of the bakery was covered in cakes. Every godly combination of cake, every possible frosting, every style of decoration, every type of vanilla—And that wasn’t even the end of it.
No! Because what if, at the very last moment, Alya and Nino had needed cupcakes or a pie or a tarte. Were they sure they didn’t want cookies? They could include them in the gift bags! And savory cakes weren’t off the table either, Marinette’s father reassured them that he could stay up the whole night and bake enough for Paris if they needed.
Not to mention the eight boxes on the counter behind Marinette—She’d been looking thin! This past week Tom had been worried that she’d been depressed—Never mind the fact that she was—and his little girl needed her favorite treats… Which meant every sweet she had ever so much as smiled at, and so many dumplings that Marinette would have to freeze them and eat them for months to come. Nino and Alya had similar offerings behind them.
Nino and Alya also had strained looks on their faces.
The cake tasting had gone over an hour later than it was supposed to, and there was no possible way out. Nino checked his smartwatch a thousand times, but every attempt he made at opening his mouth found his plate refilled.
“I just love weddings,” Marinette’s father proclaimed, tears in the corners of his eyes.
Marinette couldn’t miss the soft mumble of her mother trying to calm him, “someday, Tom.” She did her best to eat then, if only to soothe the two of them.
Her parents didn’t know what had happened between her and Adrien, only that one day he was there and the next day he jetted out of Paris. It was better that it stayed that way, god forbid they found out. She didn’t want to be there the moment that her father realized; she didn’t think she could stand to have him look at her afterwards.
He always wanted the world to be good to her, and she didn’t have the heart to tell him that it hadn’t been. That she’d faced monsters he couldn’t imagine and had skirted the line between life and death as a hero of Paris. That was one secret he would never know.
“I really do have to go, Mister Dupain,” Nino tried for the hundredth time as her dad placed four more slices on his plate. “There’s this thing and I… I mean, I can’t leave my dude waiting.”
“You could invite them here,” Tom said, serving Alya a slice of spiced rum cake. The young woman teetered between blissful and concerned. “Like I always say, the more the merrier.”
“Yeah, that’s like, a completely valid statement in some cases but…” Nino trailed off, flinching. Her dad frowned. “I mean, it’s not you! Definitely not you guys, you’re amazing—Marinette is amazing!” He quickly added. “It’s just one of those things…”
“We’re not hip anymore, or they don’t like cake?” Tom pushed. “Because I have croissants, croquettes, even a quiche or two! If they’re gluten intolerant, I have a whole spread!”
“No, no! He loves your stuff!” Nino immediately flinched the moment he said it.
The gears began to turn in her father’s head at the same time Marinette nearly choked on her slice of cake. “Adrien!” His face lit up with familiarity, making the obvious guess since the blond’s return was the talk of Paris. “It’s been so long since we’ve seen him, honey!” He immediately turned to her mother, and Marinette could see him quickly begin to recall the young man’s order.
“Three years,” Marinette finally butted in, supplementing the information her father would no doubt demand to know. “It’s been three years.”
“He must have gotten so skinny,” her father said with an edge of concern, “Sabine, we should make a box!” Her mother was already ahead of him.
Alya butted in, swallowing the remainder of her cake in one bite. “I mean, he’s still a model, maybe he shouldn’t come. I mean, the temptation, the…” She looked to Marinette to supplement, all the woman could do was vigorously nod her head, “carbs.” Alya winced.
“Nonsense, everyone knows those diets aren’t healthy,” Sabine began.
“He’s really into them,” Alya insisted.
“Well,” Sabine continued, fully dedicated to the idea of helping such a poor, starving model, “we’ll fix that. Call him up.”
“That’s…”
“—I’m sure Marinette wants to see him,” Sabine finished.
Oh, how utterly wrong she was. “Call him,” Marinette said, trying to make the strange way that she pulled back her lips look more like a smile than a wince of pain, “what’s the worst that could happen?”
****************
The worst that could happen was that he could show up. And he did.
And suddenly, there he was. Adrien. Standing in her parents’ shop door, a familiar blue scarf around his neck tied almost as tightly as her father’s arms were wrapped around him. Laughing, smiling, acting like nothing had happened and like he hadn’t been gone for three years.
Until he saw her.
“You sit next to Marinette, Adrien,” Sabine insisted, “we don’t want to break up the lovebirds.”
She swore she saw him swallow.
He looked different in real life compared to his Instagram posts, she was pleased to see. They’d erased the small bags underneath his eyes, the creasing beginning to form between his brows, and that persistent memory of a smile that hung on his lips even when he was meaning to look stoic and thoughtful. She was a little thankful for it, because that meant that the man she sometimes looked at in the middle of the night, that she spent far too much time on, was fake. She wasn’t crying over the real Adrien Agreste while he was lounging on a beach somewhere with flawless skin and a perfect smile.
“It’s been a long time, Marinette,” he said as he settled beside her, his voice soft and almost inaudible. She couldn’t place the tone of it.
“Whose fault is that,” her response was sarcastic and the smile she put on for her parents’ sake was fake. She’d rather he sat in a dumpster outside.
He winced.
“So,” Tom carried on, loading up a plate for Adrien to the point that Marinette was almost afraid of it cracking, “New York, Berlin, Rome, Moscow, and Sydney! You’re really well-traveled now, Adrien, I’m a little jealous! I’m afraid to say that I didn’t pin you for a globetrotter, but maybe I was a little wrong in that! You’ve done some really impressive things these past years.”
“Yeah,” he said, accepting the plate from Tom with a gracious nod, “I’ve really gone out there, but I’m happy to be home. I always tell everyone that my heart is in Paris. I was sad to leave it.”
“So, you’ll be staying around then?” Sabine perked up.
“For a few months, maybe if I’m lucky a few years,” he said. “It really depends on how things go.” Looking down at his plate, Adrien said, “I sort of left a lot of things up in the air when I left Paris.”
If there was a word for the look Marinette shot him out of the corner of her eye, it was poisonous.
It was Tom’s turn to speak again, he continued his interrogation of Adrien as Sabine shot her daughter a questioning look, and Alya gave Marinette a warning kick from her seat a few inches away. “So, what’s on the checklist while you’re here? Any sights you have to see, things you have to do, friends you have to check in with?”
All anger melted away, dissolving into the utterly terrifying sea of embarrassment. Alya’s eyes widened in mock horror as the color left Marinette’s face, the way he said friends let there be no mistake, her father was going to try to wingman for her.
“I think most of his friends are gone by now—” Marinette quickly interrupted.
“Well, I have my father’s house to sell, I’d like to check in with a few victims of akumatization, and—” he paused at her statement, his eyes quickly looking over to her and catching her gaze for a split second. “I had some friends I wanted to check in,” he said, his tongue wetting his lips in an awkward show of unease.
“Had,” Marinette emphasized, drawing the line.
“Had,” Adrien repeated, a flicker of curiosity in his eyes. He sat up a little straighter, looking back to the Dupain-Chengs. “It’s been a long time.” Indeed, it had been.
*****************
Somehow they made it through all the cakes, her parents sending each home with an additional box of their favorites so that they could be absolutely sure of their selections. Alya and Nino went home together, and there was an option for Marinette to stay at her parents, but one look at her mother’s eyes roaming over her like a crime scene and Marinette knew she wouldn’t take it.
She always liked the walk home anyway, and her parents wanted to speak to Adrien a little longer. So, giving the slightest of waves, she walked out.
She only realized what an awful choice that was minutes later, when she heard the pounding of pavement behind her and a familiar voice calling her name. “Hey, Marinette, wait up!” Adrien.
Maybe if she pretended not to hear it, he would go away.
He did not go away.
“Marinette!”
“I should have just stayed home, I should have just slept in my childhood bed,” Marinette mumbled, cursing the fact that she didn’t live near a tourist destination where she could easily vanish into the crowds. No, instead she was walking down a quiet, empty street; one where it was impossible to ignore him.
“Hey,” he said when he finally caught up to her, and she clenched her eyes shut as tightly as possible as if that would somehow make him go away.
Hey, that was what he had to say? Three years and she gets a hey? “Hey,” she said back, her voice dripping with unenthusiasm. What on earth did he think he was doing?
She opened her eyes to see his hand at the back of his neck, a sheepish expression on his face. “I, uh, just wanted to say hi.” Right.
“Of course,” she said awkwardly, “that’s all you want to say, right. Thank you,” she paused. “Hi,” she reiterated, echoing the statement back at him. As if they hadn’t just spent four hours trying cakes together, as if he hadn’t sat right beside her in her parents’ shop, as if she wasn’t freaking Ladybug and he Chat Noir.
They were on hi terms now. What even were hi terms?
He quickened his pace to keep up with her. “Listen, uh,” he tried again, “I want this to work out.”
He caught the look on her face.
“The wedding,” he quickly clarified. “Their wedding, not ours. Because, you know, there won’t be an our wedding, there will be a… their wedding. And that’s uh…,” he was trying not to ramble, she could tell. “Yeah.”
“Yeah,” she parroted back.
“I just want to get through this,” he started quickly, and his eyes immediately widened as he realized what he said and how it could be misunderstood. He tried to open his mouth again, but she stopped him before he could get more words out.
“We will,” she said.
“Right, because we’re…” A team? He’d ended that. “Good at working together,” he said, and even Marinette had to flinch at how lame it sounded.
“Yeah, I’m sure we are,” Marinette replied, letting her eyes drift down to the sidewalk. She didn’t want it to last too much longer, she didn’t want him to see that she still lived in the same place. She didn’t want him to have another part of her life.
She couldn’t afford for him to.
And yet there he was, and she could tell that he wanted it. That he wanted another part of her life, that he wanted—god, what did he want? To ruin her again? To make the fact that it wasn’t going to happen completely clear?
“I missed you,” he said suddenly, his voice low and almost croaking.
“Go home, Adrien.”
