The first time you and your crew met the Gladers was at the beginning of the chaos. The Scorch Trials loomed ahead, but you’d been at the way station long enough to recognise the signs of an inevitable breakout. Aris, your close friend from Maze B, had roped you and your squad from Maze C into the plan to escape together with these newcomers.

You watched as the doors opened, revealing a group of confused and wary boys from Maze A. They filed into the room, looking around with cautious eyes, scanning every corner, every unfamiliar face. One of the boys stood out—a tall, athletic guy with short-cropped black hair and an air of confidence. You’d heard Aris mention him in passing, always with a sense of admiration. "That one’s the runner," Aris had said. "Fast as hell. You’ll like him."

Your crew was chilling at the far end of the room, sprawled across the couches of the only lounge area in the facility, making jokes despite the tense atmosphere. Your friend Gia stretched out, yawning dramatically. “Deadass, if they don’t feed us soon, I’m gonna raid the snack bar. I’m starving.”

“Bet,” another friend, Agnes, responded with a laugh. “I’ll cook up an escape plan once I'm actually fed.”

"Oh they are feeding us well alright..." Freya drooled at the sight of the new Maze A boys.

"Smash." Violet added, "...specifically, the brunette with the blue shirt. For research purposes, I might need to approach him."

"Stop! Guys, we need to lock in! I'm not getting distracted by some newcomers." You asserted.

The Gladers, hearing your conversation, looked at each other in confusion. One of the Gladers with a British accent, leaned over and whispered something to the asian one. You couldn’t hear, but from their expressions, you guessed they had no idea what you were talking about.

Violet stood, approaching them and the others with Aris, offering a friendly smile. "So, you guys ready to break out of this place with us or what?"

You widened your eyes, 'Violet, get back here!' you thought to yourself. Scoffing, you stood up, catching up to Aris and her.

"I'm Violet, that's Y/N, Aris, Agnes and Freya. What brings you guys to the lounge? Us?" Violet chuckled.

The brunette obviously found her charming and responded, "You're pretty straightforward aren't you? Well uh, I'm Thomas. Minho, Newt, Frypan, and Winston. We honestly just came here to relax for a bit..."

"Slay, so did we." You replied.

"Honestly, this place is kinda sus so we're thinking of escaping as soon as we can, we've gyatt to get out of here." Violet teased, noticing that the maze A boys were rather fit, a little too fit not to notice.

Minho, arms crossed, raised an eyebrow. "You talk funny," he said with a hint of amusement. "We heard you guys earlier. What’s 'smash' supposed to mean? You guys trying to attack us or somethin'?"

You blinked, momentarily confused. "It means...uh, they're fond of you guys?"

He shook his head, clearly baffled. "You’ve got some weird lingo."

Aris chuckled beside you. "Yeah, and you guys don’t? ‘Shuckface’? What even is that?" Aris mentioned a few terms he heard the gladers using previously.

Minho’s lips twitched, holding back a laugh. "You wouldn’t get it, greenie."

You rolled your eyes but smiled, finding his teasing kind of charming. "Oh, bet. You think I wouldn’t get it, huh? And what’s ‘greenie’ supposed to mean?"

"It means newbie," Newt piped in from beside Minho. "Someone new to the Glade. First day, all that."

"Sounds odd," you joked, crossing your arms. "Anyway we've got to lock in and find a way out soon."

At that, Minho squinted at you, clearly trying to figure out your slang. "Lock in? You’re making even less sense now."

You laughed, genuinely entertained by the language barrier. "It just means we've got to focus, dude. Gonna use it. Anyway, we’re planning to break out of this place together, right?"

Aris nodded, leaning against the wall. "We’ve been here long enough to know it’s not safe here. They’re hiding something. We need to get out, head for the Scorch."

Minho looked you over for a second, clearly still processing your slang but understanding the urgency. He glanced at Thomas, Newt, and Frypan before locking eyes with you again. "Alright, let’s do it."

"Wait, so you'll form an alliance with us?" Freya beamed, "Slay."

Winston furrowed his brows, "Haven't had to "slay" anything since the glade. You guys need somethings sliced up?"

Agnes chortled, "Man you guys are funny as hell."

"Dude, you guys are the ones just spewing klunk at this point." Frypan laughed.

"Are you hearing yourself?" Agnes retorted.

"Alright shank, at least we'll be the ones breaking you out of this place." Fry continued.

"That's cap. Agnes has already cooked up an escape plan." You defended your gladers.

"Cooked? Where? You know...I was the head chef back in my glade." Fry grinned clearly proud of himself, "Let me know if you need assistance girl."

"Of course, I'll need someone to wash the dishes after I'm done cooking." Agnes was sarcastic, with playful tone.

"She kinda ate with that one." Freya was amused.

"Okay we're all cooked if we don't make a move now. Can we actually get to the planning?" You brought everyone back on track.

"Just don’t use any more of your weird phrases around me greenie." Minho warned, attempting to tease you.

So today we have Chase and Buddy Genderbend omg 🤯🤯🤯

This was a quick rough sketch on the concept- i thought Chase would wear like "kpop"-esque clothing so kinda gave her a cute mini skirt, While Buddy's pretty much is the same cuz he'd slay any gender imo 😰

Also a rendition of Chase's outfit in princess and the tutor just bcs i think she would look nice in a ponytail and would literally change hairstyles every episode imo

For their genderbend names i feel like Chase would still be Chase since it already pretty much counts as a unisex name ngl- tho i'd like to hear you guy's thoughts on other names that would suit them 🤯

My thoughts on the pjo show (now that the season is over) (this is going to run long) Overall Rating: 8/10 :

Ok first of all, I actually LOVED the show and the cast is literally awesome; I do have some thoughts and feelings tho.

The GOOD :D

The visuals were eating ngl

THE CAST!!!! they literally were amazing cannot stress this enough

I think a lot of the changes were handled super well, especially Medusa (although I don't love all of the changes...see below in the next section lol)

I LOVED the set design for pretty much all of the scenes!!! Like the set & costuming was literally so good; sometimes it looked a little Volume-y but I think it's ok since they also clearly did a bunch of on-location stuff

Driving scene was literally so funny like no notes on that + the acting was On Point pretty much All of the Time.

I actually think they slayed with the special effects

Pretty accurate! (overall a waaaaaay better adaptation than the movies)

BLUE FOOD!!!!

More Sally content was awesome!! And I cannot stress this enough the ACTORS WERE SO GOOD in their roles!! Like I think they were the perfect choices ngl and I hope to see more of them in season 2 (if we get one, idk if its greenlit yet)

I also liked how they focused on Grover's character more (lowkey my fav now)

Genuinely had a great time watching the scenes from the books I've loved since Forever come to life onscreen!

The character dynamics were GIVING

Loved getting more info about Percy's backstory

The way they showed the Mist was honestly so cool!! This might be filed under Visuals but still...it was so cool

Fight choreo fluctuated, but I liked the Percy vs Luke fight (altho the scorpion erasure ;-;)

Again the chemistry with the actors like adkjhfdkjdfkjhdfjkhk I think the acting may have been my fav part honestly lol

All of the easter eggs for the fans!!

Rick's subtle rewriting of the story was sometimes very cool! (Like with the water grabbing Percy etc) --- you can definitely tell that he's thinking about how he'd change the story if he were to write it today

...HOWEVER i have gripes :(

THE LIGHTING WAS TOO DARK IN NIGHT SCENES!!!! HATE THAT TROPE WHY CANT I SEEEEEEEE (looking at u medusa scene)

I feel like they should've fallen into like…at least one trap without Knowing Everything about it. Like, I get the Medusa change and am pretty on board with it, but I feel like a few of the other changes weren't really necessary & messed with the stakes. A lot of the time it felt like I was watching them explain "Oh you're THIS person so you will do THIS so I will do THIS" instead of like...showing me.

Not enough blood (this is prob a Disney problem, not the show creators fault but like...cmon Disney...they have swords, let the children get More Injured...they are Fighting for their Lives)

Felt kinda...dryer than the books? idk how to explain it...like it felt like there wasn't the same Vibes in some parts if that makes sense, like they switched out a lot of funny moments (esp with how they changed Charon and the Crusty scenes lowkey im bitter)

the tone was definitely sometimes waaay different from the books (like it was way more serious I think, which is good sometimes and less good other times)

Idk if this is 100% true bc my last reread was a few months ago, but I think they separated the main trio more than in the book (?), it felt like they were duo-ed with diff members for a lot rather than building off of their main dynamic -- they had some trio moments but ig i just wanted more (again, I could be wrong on this one tho)

Lotus Casino not really being as Fun (the pumping lotus flowers in the air was a cool detail tho!)

It generally felt like they took a lot of the funny parts in favor of talking more about how messed up the gods are (which I liked sometimes!! but the kids are 12 let them have more funny moments too yaknow) (Rip the Died in the Bathtub line...gone but not forgotten)

I really didn't love the changes that made the story feel more Cliche and Basic (the ones that annoyed me were changing the entire DOA to just Some Standard Death Eater Looking Fellow & Annabeth's interactions with Cerebus being completely changed)

Mixed feelings on Gabe...I wanted him to be more evil at the beginning but I get why they changed it ig. Plus he was literally so funny when he (spoilers?) got murdered by opening someone else's mail. That's what happens when you commit a federal crime ig.

General Character Thoughts:

PERCY: Walker Scobell was such a good casting call... like you can tell he really cares about the books & getting the character right. Acting was on point, sass was on point (but I do wish he got to be sassy a bit More); Really gives off the energy of Percy Jackson and definitely was AMAZING in this role!

ANNABETH: She was spectacular in this role!! Leah got literally all of Annabeth down to a T --- her kindness, her pride, her wisdom, etc etc without resorting to any kind of "stock smart girl" vibe. She was literally SO GOOD! I loved seeing her talk about her dad, and the detail about her not having seen a movie is such a mood and so in-character lowkey. Leah really nailed Annabeth's dry humor and general vibe like dfajkhfdjhkfdhjk

GROVER: He was my favorite! Like, his acting was AMAZING fr!!! They brought a lot of newer things into his character that I think worked really well & it definitely strengthened his characterization --- he was also really funny & so sincere I just loved his portrayal of Grover!

HOWEVER I think some of the arcs are shakier since the characters didn't struggle as much, since they were figuring out a Lot of things

Overall, I took 2 points from the rating because the Spirit and Humor weren't fully there and I felt some of the changes made it feel less like the OG and more cliche (looking at u Charon). However, the great acting, pretty slay writing (except for the tone stuff), Vibes, and all the other stuff I think they did right pulled through to get it ranked a little higher lol. Plus, I liked it, even if I didn't like all of it.

No hate if u loved the show adaptation tho!! Feel free to disagree, these are just my thoughts lol. I really genuinely hope there's going to be a season 2, although I would like if they fix a few of these problems in that potential season (please...let me see what's happening in the dark scenes...please...)

overall: i liked the first half better than the second half. first 50% was soooo addicting. i loved the world building and dragons and war college and challenges so much but i’m just not a huge romance person. like the romantic buildup is amazing but afterwards i’m just meh. of course there was the expected tropey/ cliche/ booktok moments BUT most of it was overshadowed by how great the other aspects of the writing was. i dissociated at the end and didn’t really feel attached to violet or xaden or even the dragons (this is a me problem) but i think the ending is great set up for book 2 (will probs give it a read). like u can tell where the book is going but then the author does something unique to make it a little different than other books in this genre, so idk how many surprises book 2 will have. the fact that i read this is in less than 24 hours says a lot though. i hope mira comes back :D

Also listen Angus Fangus sucks BUT he was kind of an MVP this comic I can give it to him. He's doing a good thing trying to protect the Maori land and I'm glad he got to see his mom (mostly for her sake though because she's a badass and I love her and she deserves to see her son even though he's the worst)

I actually enjoyed rereading this comic more than I thought I would. It wasn't one that stood out to me much before, but the pacing is nice and consistent and I found the story pretty compelling. The conflict was a little more grounded in reality than usual (I say a little, there were still the Evronians and all that) but the threat of Cook trying to displace an entire group of native people felt very real, and I liked that kind of tension. Cook is the worst and he needs to die forever. I can't comment at all on the representation of the Maori people here, I'm not Maori (nor am I even from New Zealand) so I know next to nothing here, but just as a complete outsider I didn't see any HUGE red flags in how they were presented here so hey, that's a win!! The same can't be said for some future issues but uhhh we'll get there 💀 It's also nice to see some other kiwis and realize that hey, they're not all that ugly!! It's JUST Fangus that looks Like That <3

My first hero is my Prep teacher. I think, I've talked about her previously or it may just be another thought bubble. She carved a tiny home for me and my purple Prep Joey mates back in a small and highly progressive school ages ago.

Today, I remember her and should our paths cross again, I'd give her a solid hug and for sure, I'll cry. Teacher Rosa hailed from Leon Guinto and damn, I must say that it kinda seems a "premonition" looking back. One that I didn't ever see coming and one that shaped my worldview even when I'm not totally sold about being cloistered in the halls that once cradled the wounded soldiers of WW2. However, as I come in peace, this makes sense.

Maarte ako e. Hahahaha. Masungit pa. (Parang normal naman 'to sa mga hinubog sa Leon G. Street like Teacher Rosa pero siya, 'yung sungit niya sa mga bagay na may kwenta, unlike ako na sa lahat masungit.) And what I'm super sold about after ages of loathing this chapter was that, mukhang tama ng nanay kong dragon. She housed me there for four years to prune me as bonsai --punggok na, pudgy pa, ako e. LOL.

Still curious as to when I'd see my first official social group as a daldal kahit saan bitch. Very interesting.

Best Lesson from Teacher Rosa: Just be you but try to hold your tongue at times. Also, you can read well even when your mom tells you that you'd have to perfect reading words with "b" and "d". You can do it, but stop being frustrated about the tiny things. Keep your high energy, but don't be too rowdy.

My next highlight for today, sa ngalan ng pakikibaka with a heart is my second dad. He's my OG mentor and one of my benchmarks. He came from Katips and is a loud and proud promdi. While he came from an alta fam, he worked his ass off to get a scholarship kasi nga 'di daw sila mayaman. LUL. He tried LS but gave up because the vibe did not sit well with him. Sungit din niyan. Hahaha. And whenever he wants to steer me in a direction that I deem directionless, the battle gears are high and mighty. There was even an era when I loathed him talaga. What I like most about my second dad is that he's keep slaying shit.

From the crazy and colorful world of being an expat in the 80s and surviving the market crash nung 90s, jusq. He's now working with the grassroots people to power up their cooperatives with AI. Then, he'd teach me the pitfalls and perils of halo marketing. Now, we'd deep dive-ish into the prompts he's pumping. How crazy does this boomer go? He's building business models and modules with the bot gods. I find it funny that now, he's keeping up with me. Well, kinda. Marketing and finance expertise niya along with social responsibility. He's actually one of the may panaka ng market leader sa botika with the tagline since the 90s. Wala ng ibang clue because he's super underrated.

Recently, his ask from me was to build his LI profile. Tawang-tawa ako. I told him na why now lang? And if he wanted to go with the social selling route. Ako na. hard to recomend ngl cos it's a kinda heavy, i don't think the some of the content is for everyone

SOOOOOOOO Funny dragon game event

I'm gonna be rambling my ass off over the valentines event so far so bare with me-

the Valentines day event in dragon adventures has been going on for like about a week now and not gonna lie this event lowkey sucks ass harder than the one wierd space event did in my very personal opinion

The whole gimmic of it is that your dragons will be craving specific kinds of Pralines, said pralines you can get from like 2 minigames wich are kinda e h [a maze and just a simple time trial game] they're ok but a bit boring imo and you can get pralines from random mushrooms that grow on the funny little valentines island but that doesn't really give you much OH and you can buy pralines from a praline package in the shop for 5k, only one box per day tho

when you feed these chocolates to your dragons they will give you hearts and those hearts are the main currency of this event wich you can buy eggs and potions with [aswell as accessories and building thingies and those somehow are more interresting than the pots you can buy atleast for me-]

I barely had been doing any grinding for the event, I wanted to save for a love potion sure and mayybeeee also a sugar element potion but those prices man- I am too lazy to grind for them to be honest and both dragons for this event I already bought far prior to this event so what's really the point

also the whole first week they didn't have the fayrah out yet so we only had the tarrotta wich I already have one of but decided to hatch another one anyway becuase 10% sounds like a reasonable chance-

at first, todoroki had this entire speech planned, but the moment he saw you, he stopped and forgot all of his words

…before pressing his lips onto yours, and suddenly, everything stops

your mind is empty and blank, when you realize:

and you were kissing him back.

you almost forget that breathing is a thing before you realize that you were nearly out of breath as todoroki pulled away before kissing you again, his hands cupping your face as you pulled closer against his chest

when you finish, you see that parts of his jacket were smoking after the kiss

literally smoking

“that was… that was… wow.”

todoroki laughs, “wow was right, a word i’d use.”

you’re about to talk again, when you hear screaming and cheering in the background

“LET’S!! GO!! Y/N!! AND!! TODO!! ROKI!!”

and yas– the entire bakusquad, willingly or unwillingly followed you there

even if it was a lot, todoroki’s happier than ever as he kisses you again

and all you could say?

that day the best day of your life.

Like okay we got like, 4 unasked comments from STRANGERS today within 3 hours like help so some random guy said “hi” to this one cunt in the group who i now resent for reasons (she manipulated me into thinking i am the problem) there was this one girl who said “you guys loook so good be safe!!!” To us and uhhmmmm i was like ok but the other ppl were like aww thanks shes nice etc. me PERSONALLY, i dont like receiving unasked compliments from strangers but thats just me . AnywYs theres this one guy who said “have a great night yall” LIKE SHUT THE FUCKKKK UPPPPPPP NOBODY ASKED. NOBODY. And this girl who said “i realllyyyy love your top” to the same cunt i resent

And so we come back. From this failed 3 hour trip of looking for parties. I get mcdonalds. I go to her room. We have a conversation.

The conversation was really fucking uncomfortable and i was physically like acting very erratic like i looked insane but its okay ummm. She was like “yeahhh i mean your attitude was also… brought down the spirit of us because it couldve easily been avoided if you just tried.” (To be more engaged i guess??? Like no you legit told me to CALM DOWN after i simply offered my opinion. And then proceeded to say some snarky lame ass comment calling me like, i forgot idk but it was a rude comment and it was manipulative as fuck lmfao bc i wasnt even being attitudinal i was legit just talking how i normally talk but i guess i came off as rude or smt. No i wasnt rude. You just perceived what i was saying as rude from my tone which is usually monotone. So yeah its your fault for kind of interpreting the vibe so erroneously like that like yeah kill yourself kinda wait ngl i sound kinda manipulative rn ok slay bc its funny when i do it but not when you do it
