this is so stupid.

so like. i start worrying i don’t really have OCD. as is typical with these kind of worries, i start getting anxious and feel compelled to go look at That One Subreddit to “prove” to myself i don’t have it. watch a bunch of videos of people talking about how it’s offensive to say you have OCD bc of like “haha i just need all my stuff organized and for things to look nice and even and for the volume to be on the right number <3” and get nervous because i have a lot of small number issues that will make me feel really panicked and sick if i don’t do them. like how if i’m making a drink at home i have to use exactly 4 ice cubes or if i pull something from the microwave early i have to stop it on a multiple of ten or in ffxiv i have to have the number of teleport tickets in my inventory be either even or a multiple of five so i’m effectively not allowed to use them at all once i get them to an acceptable number bc you see the number every time before you teleport so if it’s odd i get really uncomfortable and upset. Or how on tumblr now sometimes i get anxious about the notes on a post being made odd if i don’t interact with it in a specific way. and it’s not a number thing exactly (there is a number involved) this is more of an evenness thing but every time i make a frozen pizza i have to stand by the oven and rearrange all the pepperonis on the pizza so that they’re in two concentric circles and the middle circle has six exactly or i physically can’t put it in the oven. and i have other symptoms like bfrbs and rumination and compulsions about avoiding groups of people and stuff but im anxious anyway bc these are all very like “HAHA IM SO OCD I HAVE ALL THESE COUNTING AND EVENNESS COMPULSIONS THAT DONT REALLY MATTER TEEHEE” and like for me they’re always driven by massive anxiety and even when they’re “right” i notice in a like “oh god what would happen if this was wrong” way where the anxiety is always sort of there but like. idk!!!! im inordinately worried that labeling these as compulsions or related to ocd when they might seem like stereotypical “omg my ocd is acting up 🥴” bullshit is offensive to people with quote unquote “real ocd” or if i do in fact have ocd like people keep insisting i do “ocd that is more real than mine.” AAAAAAAAAAGGHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just have to say, I don’t like the internet’s recent obsession with labeling everyone, but right now it’s the proship vs anti. I don’t know which side I fall on but I don’t know how to say that without getting someone mad at me. I don’t like to see proship content and I have filters on so that I don’t see it, but I also understand that it has the right to exist and that policing what people post on the internet is stupid and gatekeepy. And I also know that saying that publicly could lead to me getting doxxed or some shit like that.

I guess the main reason why I’m venting about this now is because an anon just asked whether I was proship or anti because apparently I had reblogged a post that says “proshippers dni”, even though I have no idea when I did that and can’t find the post because tumblr’s search bar is shit. I know that this anon, whoever it is, is a proshipper, but I also know that some of my mutuals are antis, and whichever label I put on myself will probably end up losing me at least one mutual and I just don’t know what to do. Is saying that I don’t care about the labels a valid option in this situation? I don’t know what to do.

First of all, stop spreading the nonsense that antis promote, which is that "proship" means "problematic ship" and/or is a label for dark content.

The term originates as "I'm not an anti" and refers to the overall stance that dark stuff has a right to exist whether or not you personally like it.

In other words, your stance.

Second, man up and say what you think. If people are dickheads about it, block them and tell them how inappropriate bullying is. The fact that most people go "Oooh, I don't know where I staaaand" is exactly why bullies are allowed to run rampant through our communities.

Do you think I don't get threats by leaving anon on to make my inbox safe for you? Of course I do! But I get far fewer than I would if I acted spineless.

Welcome to the HOT AND VINTAGE MOVIE STARS poll blog!

The Scrungly Little Guys (gender neutral) Contest is ongoing, and there is also a Hot & Vintage Movie Couples Mini Tournament happening over the holidays. The scrungle contest enshrines the weird, the off-putting, the comic, the character actor, and the strange cinema legend. If you need a reminder of what scrungle means, this picture of an opossum is the golden standard. The hot people contest is about who is hot.

All polls—including ongoing polls, previous rounds, old tournaments, the various shadow brackets, the Dracula Daily polls, and fun mini polls—can be found in the #hotvintagepoll tag. I am working on a more complete tagging system so people just here for the polls can navigate the blog more easily, but that's still in the works.

FAQs:

“Define scrungly?” For the purposes of this tournament, a contestant must noticeably present in some way as at least one of these: odd, bizarre, off-putting, disheveled, creeping, feral, small, filthy, silly, funny, kooky, comical, exhausted, or just plain strange. This contest presents a wide array of scrungly appeal, so not every contestant will hit every single one of these (but should, ideally, be a few of them). Scrungles were chosen based on how convincing their submitted propaganda was. This contest is all about oddball character actors, creeping henchmen, comic relief sidekicks��the side characters who never get the credit they deserve in proper rundowns of famous old movie actors.

"How do I decide who to vote for with the scrungles?" Vote on whoever seems scrungliest to you. Do not vote for someone based on hotness alone. The video propaganda, included under the cut, is highly encouraged for showcasing scrungles. This contest is very silly and does not always follow the same rules as the hotness tournaments.

I love Tumblr's userbase, because it's the only place (besides maybe some of Bluesky?) where it's not seen as personal or anything to "curate your experience" ie block whoever you want, filter whatever tags you want, and whatever. Sure, there's people who do fall into this trap and do hate anons, vagueposting, constant drama, and whatever the fuck, but it's a minority. Unlike on Twitter, it's still looked down upon in most spaces as the immature shit that it is. Most people like that can't thrive on here for too long.

It's pretty well understood that your blog is your own yellbox, it exists for you to post or think what you want, nobody uses the algorithmic feed so finding bullshit is something you can subvert by unfollowing the culprits, hate anons can be blocked by IP, and you can also just turn off anons or asks entirely. You can turn off reblogs. You can private posts or entire blogs. I also kinda like that it's a little under the radar. It's a known stereotype that family members, IRL friends, employers, etc. don't know your Tumblr.

It's healthier than places that thrive off of negative "engagement" and every time I think about how so many companies WANT people to fight, WANT people to get into drama.... I get pissed at the state of social media. I miss Cohost. I hate Mastodon's layout but I love the idea behind it. I like Bluesky mechanically, but people are too distrustful to jump over to it and rebuild their communities when it might end up sucking just as bad within a year. I'm scared of Tumblr disappearing one day and having to scramble to ever find even a semblance of what once existed here. I don't want this place to become Myspace 2.0 and vanish into the ether, all of its history and relics gone with it. Nowhere else like it exists right now.

My Wangan Maxi Tune Career Returns 2024 Edition [Timezone Arcade Araneta City Gateway Mall II & Gateway Cinema] - Part 7 [First Half] (Recorded: Jun 19th, 2024)

Hey, hey! It’s me! 😁 And welcome back for another installment of "My Wangan Maxi Tune Career"! I returned in 2022, and now I'm continue it, this 2024. Yes, it's been a while. I haven't shared my WMMT's play progress in this current year, with the last record I posted was on May 31st, 2023 (Pls, go check it out in the "previous" section) before it went into troubles. And by that, I'm talking about my PC desktop problem. *sigh* 😫😔 Nevertheless, I have now SO MANY photos and screenshots that need to be uploaded on my current social media sites right away before I move on to my current update.

• [1st to 3rd Images] June 19th, 2024, I'm here at the specific TZ Arcade branch in Araneta City Gateway Mall II, with my two beloved paper dolls (🐻👨‍🍳 Chowder & Panini 🐰👩‍🍳). Upon entering the said mall and TZ branch, the atmosphere was pretty nice and clean, much like I visited every TZ branch. Anyway, I've redeemed the ₱200 free Power Load coupon through my gold membership TZ Power Card 💳🕹️😁, with an additional ₱150 load for a good measure 💵. However, there's one problem though... There's no Wangan Maxi Tune cabinet at this particular TZ branch. 😥 Damn, it'll be better if I play it inside this awesome atmosphere, alas it ain't happened. 😓 So, should go back to Trinoma where I previously played? 🤔 Nah, because as far as I know, there's another TZ branch located somewhere at the huge "Araneta City" mall. So, I venture myself to search for another TZ branch with my trusty Google Maps app 🗺️📲, in about a 1 hour ⌚.

• [4th to 6th Images] And said an hour later, I finally found another TZ branch located at the OG Gateway Cinema. 🎞️🕹️😃 Huh, you know what, the layer reminds me of going to the Ayala Glorietta mall in Makati City, where there's a TZ branch beside the Cinema. And that was my "Real Life Story". 😁📖 I was in my High School days 🧑‍🎓🏫 (3rd year High School to be specific; 2010 to 2011) when my former BF ("Best Friend") 👤 invited me to a meet-up for playing a music rhythm arcade game (named "DJ MAX Technika" 👇🎶🎧) at the aforementioned Glorietta TZ branch, which I suck at it. But, I was also playing my debuted "Wangan Maxi Tune 3DX Plus" 🚘🌃🛣️ arcade, which is my preferred over that music rhythm. 😊 Yeah, who doesn't love playing arcades after watching an awesome movie (say the new upcoming Disney movies, etc..). I've been there, but I never actually attempted that in my life. 😥 As for the actual arcade branch, it matches my memories back in 2012 😊, and no doubt this is one of the most unique branches unlike the Glorietta branch because besides the TZ branch was this Taco Bell / Pizza Hut stand, which is an awesome nice touch if I want it to grab something delicious Taco/Pizza from the "Yum" brands! My paper dolls loves eating Taco/Pizza! Yum! 🌮🍕😋 Sadly, I don't have funds for ordering food. Bummer... 😥😓

Hi Cal, I'm sorry if this is really random or you don't want to answer which is fine. But I've got blocked by someone who used to follow me and reblog my works and stuff. Like they weren't any mutual of sorts but I had their account in my notifs pretty usually.

I've noticed some days ago that someone had unfollowed me and idk why I felt like it was this person, but it wasn't. Days later, I lost a follower again and I decided to check with Tumblr stlkr to see who it was just go to quicker and it was this person this time. I decided to look for their acc and it didn't show up which I just assumed they had me blocked and ofc, I was right.

I'm all for curating your online experience and blocking whoever makes you uncomfortable but sometimes I feel like shit when this happens. Because idk what I did wrong, I don't know what I posted that made a person not unfollow me but block me straight up? Like was it that bad?

I'm already afraid of messing up but idk why they would follow me in the first place just to block me later. I don't think you'll relate much but I just wanted to share it and see.

hiii nonnie, i completely understand where you're coming from and the same thing happens to me fairly often, especially recently with tensions being a bit high and vastly differing thoughts going around.

it can hurt when mutuals or someone you've noticed frequents your blog unfollows or blocks you. i def understand feeling dejected or maybe even a bit self conscious about it. i think what's important to remember though is that a lot of the time, it's not personal, even though i know it can feel that way. there are a lot of blogs that have me blocked, including people i have and haven't spoken to or interacted with, but i have to remind myself that not everyone thinks like i do and sometimes it's just not about me.

sometimes, it could just be that a topic you really like is something that upsets them and that's totally fine. or it could be the other way around!! a topic you don't like is something they feel differently about. i've certainly blocked people whose opinions or content i vastly disagree with, without really taking their character into mind. it's important to remind yourself that most of the time, it's not about character. it's just someone creating their own safe space and curating their own experience.

i know i sound a little preachy and even as im saying all of this, it still stings to see that people who i was mutuals with, who followed me, who i followed, or even random people have unfollowed or blocked me. i just have to remind myself that, in the same way im glad i don't have to see content or opinions i disagree with / find upsetting, they probably are too and it doesn't have to do with character so much as differing personalities and boundaries.

don't think of it in terms of what you did wrong. the likely chance is nothing. chances are, something just didn't gel, interests changed, they disagreed with an opinion, or they just aren't all that into something you may post a lot about. and (in most cases) none of those things are bad things. they just are in the same way that you just are.

regardless, im sorry you're feeling this way :( it sucks and i hope that you start to feel better soon.

Earlier today I had received a comment in regards to an Instagram Reel of the Hamas-Israel prisoner exchange and ceasefire negotiations that Netanyahu declined which you can watch above.

The fact the Israeli Government (not people, not the Jews, not whoever else, the fascist cowards in the Government) is pushing towards the ACTIVE GENOCIDE towards the Palestinian People. Instead, this prick focuses on what Hamas has done (WE DO NOT SUPPORT HAMAS ANTI-JEW VIOLENCE, WAR CRIMES NOR DO WE CONDONE THEM FOR THE SHIT THEY HEINOUSLY COMMITTED, AND NEVER HAVE AND NEVER WILL) and actively demonizes the Palestinian People as if labelling every MAN, WOMAN, CHILD, JOURNALIST, DOCTOR AND INFANT that are currently alive and have DIED in Palestine, Gaza and Rafah as apart of the entirety of Hamas and are all "terrorists" deserving of what comes to them. This cunt seems more concerned and empathetic towards the LAND of Israel than the PEOPLE DYING ON IT (SOME OF WHICH ARE ISRAELI CIVILIANS AND HOSTAGES WHICH THE GOVERNMENT CLEARLY DOEN'T GIVE A RATS ASS ABOUT GETTING CAUGHT IN THE FUCKING BOMBINGS) and had reblogged multiple posts supporting their pro-genocidal Israel supremacy Anti-Palestinian bullshit views, most of their own resources coming from a blog that dedicates itself to the history THE ISRAELI GOVERNMENT had built forged out of their ass. But I want the safety and an end to the suffering the Palestinian people have been put through because of this bullshit. Also, since that blog did make mention of it, the Hamas use "from water to water, Palestine will be/is Arab" perhaps for their anti-semantic bullshit, perhaps for their want for their land back depending on what's even true with them, HOWEVER, we don't use those words. We use "From the River to the Sea, Palestine will be Free" because we are calling out to the Israeli Government that they cannot and will not be able to hide or complete their genocide BECAUSE we know they are an illegal occupation and we will fight tooth and fucking nail to ensure the Palestinian PEOPLE are freed, and that the ISRAELI GOVERNMENT, and those who took part in the genocide, are punished for this GOD-AWFUL CRIME that has ended the lives of so many men, women, children, journalists, civilians, both Palestinian and Israeli alike, both young and elderly, not to destroy Hamas (but that's a bonus for them) but so they can build a NEW FUCKING CITY OVER THE REMAINS OF AN ENTIRE PEOPLE AND CULTURE THAT LIVED AND BREATHED THERE!!!!!!!

1.) the protocol for bad posts is that its technically fine to reblog with negative commentary but its considered aggressive and anti-social. sometimes thats what you want so just be mindful of the difference. the polite way to do it is to screenshot and make a separate post. this lets you discreetly disagree with whoever put it on your dash without being seen as openly antagonistic towards them or the OP and without opening yourself up to an ongoing argument or block. again sometimes you do want an argument and you do want to block and be blocked which is fine as long as you know thats what youre doing.

2.) the reason youre seeing a lot more annoying posts is probably because recently tumblr implemented a “for you” page that is unfortunately the default dashboard for “new” blogs. not sure the exact cutoff but you might be in it. you have to manually switch back to the “following” tab on your dashboard and afaik you have to do this each time. the ui sucks.

I really appreciate this. My recent experiences logging in to Tumblr have felt like dark souls PVP so, I appreciate taking the time to spell it out

One thing I think is helpful to explain to any new-to-Tumblr is how permanence works on Tumblr vs how it works on Twitter: When you reply something on Twitter, then you delete it, it’s deleted everywhere.  On Tumblr, if you delete a post or edit a post, it’s changed on your blog and any future reblogs from that point on, but if someone has already reblogged it from you, then it does not change. So, if I make a post saying “Shane Madej sucks ass” and you reblog it from me, that reblog stays exactly as it is forever, including anyone who then reblogs it from you.  Five minutes later, I edit that post to say, “Ryan Bergara sucks ass” because that’s what I meant, oops, whoever reblogged it in those five minutes has the original version forever.  If I delete my Shane post, that post still exists on those people’s blogs (but not on my blog or in any tracked tags) and can be reblogged from anyone who has it on their blog--sans people I’ve blocked. Replies work slightly differently:  If you reply to someone’s post, you can delete it and it will be deleted forever for everyone.  If the OP blocks you, your reply will vanish from all reblogs. My good writing friend/mutual @knifewh0re got an ask last night alerting them to the fact that one of their fics was put on wattpad without their permission or knowledge and that SAME person did the same with my fic. They took my fic Sleepover and put it on their page and they also had a whole collection of stolen work, looks like it has been taken down now, thank GOD, but I am still pretty angry about this.

Whoever you are, I assume you are a fan of mine, right? I dunno who you are but I hope you are reading this and are aware of the fact that this shit sucks. It is fucking gross and not okay.

That you are aware of the fact that I am angry and genuinely upset with you.

I work hard as fuck on all of my stories, I pour so much time and effort and thought into them, put pieces of MYSELF in them and for someone to turn around and repost my shit without a single thought or care to me or the work I do is honestly disgusting.

Did you ever think maybe there are specific reasons that I haven’t put my shit on wattpad? No. Of course not.

Like if you ARE a fan of mine there are so many better ways to get more eyes on my stuff. So, yeah you can’t just press a button and block them, but you don’t have to keep interacting with them. Unless it’s a professional setting or your job, you can decide who you talk to or not.

Do whatever you want as long as it’s respectful, everyone is entitled to their own (informed) opinions, do what makes you happy.

I know we all like feeling appreciated, and I know some think of notes as validation (and I’m the first one to complain about lack of reblogs on here, but because I’ve been here for like 10 years already and this platform didn’t use to be like this, at first there were more reblogs than likes, and now it’s the opposite. Which completely sucks, and when tags break, whatever we post goes unseen for everyone but our followers and their followers if they do reblog.)

Like damn, just yesterday I went on a softblocking spree in which I blocked empty blogs and unblocked them after. Got rid of like 80 followers that way. If you aren’t gonna interact and like, nourish, this chain I don’t want you around. Go to insta instead, since at least there likes do matter, or twitter I believe?

But anyway, that was a tangent.

I do go on the tag a lot, since the fandom here is quite small, so not a lot get posted. On my main though, I don’t go on my main fandom tags. I just follow people and reblog and like stuff from them. I do not know anybody else who might follow me, unless they pop up in my activity page a lot and I might go and take a look. So I’m not interacting with the majority of peeps who follow me, and that’s okay. I know it’s not the same as getting blocked and therefore you can’t interact with content you did want to see, but again, not the end of the world, there will always be people around you making more stuff that you might enjoy. If you do get blocked by a ton of people I would certainly reconsider why that might be happening though.

I remember some peeps complaining a while ago that other people didn’t reblog their content to not upset some other people. But like? It’s not that? At least it’s not always that? If the peep blocked another peep, and the blocked peep gets reblogged by a person the blocker follows, they won’t see their content on the dash anyway.

I do think though, that if you want more interactions because you care about clout, you should also nourish that interaction chain by interacting/reblogging from other people. If we all simply liked each other’s content without ever reblogging anything nobody would get anywhere. It’s not like people will steal each other’s followers or smth by rebloggings other peeps’ content LMAO

Idk man, idk if something really specific happened because all I’ve seen are vague af posts, that could even apply to people who aren’t even interacting with others anymore and keeping to their little corner.

Sometimes stuff gets far too personal and gets dragged to the public for some reason, which isn’t ok either. Oooor semi public groups.

Okay! Ground rules for my inbox!

Since apparently I have to say these things! Even when I’ve already said most of them before!

Don’t send me rude or incendiary messages. If you’re a dick, I will block you. If you say something that no matter how I respond to it, merely associating myself with the matter at all is going to get me mobbed and forcibly dragged into some micro-niche internet discourse from hell, I am not going to post/respond to it. I fight tooth and nail to not fight on the internet, and especially not in public. My IRL situation is extremely volatile and stressful, and I open my laptop to get away from stress. If you want to discuss a potentially loaded topic with me [and there is no guarantee I will engage unless I know you very well, and thus value your opinion and trust the information you will give me], DM me. I don’t have to post DMs publicly. Asks, on the other hand, are posted and can be reblogged and replied to, and can thus clog up my notifications with nasty fucking discourse that I don’t want to see from five billion strangers I do not know. Don’t publicly broach a subject that will incite a huge argument on my blog.

This falls under “don’t be rude,” but don’t bitch me out about taking too long to respond to your messages. I can be a very slow replier. Again, my IRL life sucks shit and takes up a lot of my time, and I have a dissociative disorder. That latter thing means 1. amnesia, of varying intensity at any given time, and 2. sometimes straight-up blacking out and often not having any idea how much time has passed between events that I do remember. I could think it’s only been a week or so since I last looked at something, and then it’ll turn out it has been two months. I have no control over the dissociation. It just happens whenever I get too stressed-out, apparently, and I can’t fight it -- trying not to black out when my brain wants to black out just gives me a migraine and doesn’t work.

Don’t spam me. Don’t flood my inbox with twenty messages, and then immediately send thirty more as soon as I answer a single one. Especially if all those asks are prompting me to give very detailed, thought-out responses to them [and if they’re not, if they’re just short little single-sentence things because you just want to casually chat...please just DM me?]. This is overwhelming and I will end up having to block you.

Don’t flirt with me. Not interested. This is just very awkward and achieves nothing. If you send me nudes, I report you. I thought only bots did this shit these days, but apparently I was wrong.

Yes, you can ask me to tag things! Please do, in fact, if I post about a triggering topic you need to avoid! Even if it seems weird. I don’t judge. I would, however, recommend either DMing me your trigger-tag request, or asking on anon [or just asking me not to post the ask], so you don’t have to publicly confirm that something triggers you specifically. Assholes can and will use that knowledge to deliberately hurt you.

I have DID, please don’t be weird about it. Being curious is one thing, I know it’s not a very well-known disorder [outside of Hollywood, where it is usually dramatically misrepresented for the sake of entertainment value] and there’s a lot of misinformation floating around about it. Respectful questions don’t bother me, I actually have a special interest in psychology and find it fascinating myself [if not extremely scary because I actually have to live with it lol], and if you accidentally bring up something that turns out to be a little too personal for me to comfortably talk about in public, I will just politely decline to comment on that specific thing. What I mean when I say “don’t be weird” is:

Don’t demand to speak to a specific alter at a specific time. Who is awake at what time is not something that any of us can consciously/intentionally control. You’re pretty much just stuck with whoever happens to be around when the message gets answered. Now, if there’s no time demand, it’s fine. If you send a message for someone specific with the acceptance that they’ll just have to get to it whenever they’re awake, knowing that there is absolutely no telling when the next time that will be is, I don’t think that bothers anyone.

If one alter talks/acts differently than another one did, that’s...that’s normal. They are functionally more or less different people. Don’t get freaked out about tone changes, people like to accuse us of shit like “suddenly being so passive-aggressive” just because the last guy they were talking to was super expressive and the guy they’re talking to now is kind of deadpan. That’s not what’s going on, it’s not you, it’s us.

Don’t pog at introjects like they Are Your Favourite Blorbos. They’re not. Even if an introject is made out of aspects of some fictional character you like [...or hate], they aren’t that fictional character. They aren’t, like, Fictional Blorbos Plopped Into The Real World Straight Out Of Fiction Land One Day, that’s not how introjection works because that’s not a real thing that can happen. At most, they’re like...an imperfect clone of their source’s personality? And not necessarily even their whole personality, maybe only one single aspect of it that our subconscious happened to latch onto, and so they aren’t necessarily even like their source at all in literally any other way. They’re probably not going to act “canon-compliant,” because they aren’t the character and are not roleplaying. They’re just dudes. Please treat them like normal dudes. They are no different from any other alter, introjection is a normal thing that happens in DID/OSDD for known reasons.

I’m not a professional, please don’t treat me like one. I don’t have any sort of degree in Brain Science, I’m just a guy who happens to have a weird brain. I’m not an expert on all the little intricate details of my own disorder, I’m still learning about it myself. I’m no authority on the subject.
