(Happy belated birthday to me :) ) Thank you guys for the wonderful year. I haven't been able to post as much lately-but I just wanted to-well I wanted to take a picture of the beans with a cupcake. I'll do a more proper retrospective of the year in my main channel, but--this little devil may cry side blog, though small and less frequent in updates than I would like--has been really nice, and really encouraging honestly. I've actually made some progress on a possible webcomic, and I do think--part of that confidence did come from the support over here. So here's to the next year, and who knows, maybe we'll get something during the next game showcase. 🥂✨

-solo cups were not invented until the 70s, so scraps has a tin can as part of her tail instead

-hoodies WERE invented in the 30s but were generally worn by warehouse workers bc of the cold. they didn’t get worn by the general public until the 70s, so toodles and cosmo are Not wearing them

-leg warmers were invented in the 40s but also didn’t get popular until the 70s so glisten’s legs get to be naked. sad !

-GASHAPONS WEREN’T INVENTED UNTIL THE 60s. GIGI SHOULDN’T EVEN EXIST HERE. BUT I DIDN’T FIND THAT OUT UNTIL I WAS DONE DRAWING ALL THIS. OOPS !!!

Bless Mokumokuren for outright stating that the genre tags for Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu have never changed, i.e. the official site never dropped the "BL" tag from the series as it got more popular to reach a wider audience. It's been a persistent rumor in the fandom, and one I'm afraid will start circulating again once the anime starts airing.

If you mainly follow English language sources, please remember that whatever tags different anime and manga sites, databases, aggregators etc., either add or leave out don't always reflect the author's intent and the official sources, and should NOT be used to argue for what genre or demographic a certain work belongs to. It can just be random people claiming whatever they want based on their own interpretations and I've seen plenty of errors and real time changes to them based on new chapter developments, that might help catch the attention of some people, but don't suddenly change the genre of the work itself.

Not having BL as a genre tag also doesn't mean that a work can't include any boys loving. The queer themes have always been present in HGSN, and if you're up to date with the manga, they've been outright stated. Having queer characters or a queer story line doesn't automatically mean that a work is BL or yuri, and not including those tags doesn't mean that it's just "baiting". This gets brought up so much I think Mokumokuren's gotten tired of it, because the other day they clearly spelled it out for everyone, assuring that the story is queer, although it's not tagged as BL or focused on romance.

The genre tag and advertising direction on the official website have never changed since the beginning of serialization. From the beginning, it has been consistently promoted as a "coming-of-age horror" within the official reach. (It's also true that the official reach is very limited…) Whatever the genre tag is, and even if this story isn't a romance, as the author, I guarantee that it is a queer story. There seems to be a persistent false rumor going around that "the author suddenly removed the BL tag from the official website by the 3rd volume," but the truth is that there was never an official BL tag from the beginning. (This is not to deny any queerness.)

My opinion that the genre of The Summer Hikaru Died is something that the readers are free to think about on their own remains unchanged, but I view it as a story that sympathizes with those who have been left out of stories about love and sex, so I describe it as "coming-of-age horror." I think the key is the fear of not being “normal” and not having a place to belong, which is common for all kinds of people regardless of their attributes. I think it's fine for queer stories that aren't romances to exist. That's why I've been careful not to position it as a love story from the start.

Let's stop obsessing over tags and allow queer stories to exist and thrive, even when they lack a clear romantic plot or subplot and are more subdued.

This guy fell for the same thing and got scammed. The way the person texted me was so quick it felt like a bot. Not to mention the fact that when I went to go find my brother, he was ASLEEP.

Be careful out there on discord, and if my account suddenly disappears, know that it was hacked, and that I removed it from my commissions sheet. I know better to go clicking on links and giving out my information, but I don't know how far these guys will go. I have no money for them to steal, so at least I have that.

Hmm, that's a tough question, because I want to say almost every agere blog!! It's very rare I see actual agere accounts doing something I don't like. But, this is a great opportunity to talk about some of my personal favorites!

@/snailsagere makes really cool and inclusive boards! They were one of the people whose content gave me the idea to make moodboards on this account!!

@/tinikip is another favorite of mine! He's not online very often, but I'm always happy to see new posts when he's active!!

Maybe a little overly serious approach to the situation, but y'all have GOT to be more respectful towards the creators you watch and consume content for. fWhip's message about getting a lot of hate is honestly abysmal.

Like, don't get me wrong, I love lore-related series! I think they're a lot of fun and I love watching them.But give non-lore series a chance! They're also a lot of fun!

These creators are all responsible adults who are very capable of creating boundaries for themselves and deciding amongst themselves what rules they want to follow when joining a project.

Obviously, there are many viewers and community members who this isn't directed at. :D

Please don't send hate to anyone, it's not helpful. If you don't like something, don't engage with it. Just leave it at that. Show respect to the community you're apart of, and to the creators that head it.

(It's fine to be annoyed with something and talk about it, but don't force a creator to see that negativity. It's not benefiting anyone.) The more hate a creator gets, the less they engage with and organize fun things for the community. Please remember to be kind.

My Very First Post

It's been 10 days since I created this account and never publish a post before. Well, that's what happen if you suffer from anxiety, is very sensitive, fears rejection and have autism.

Prior to coming here, I used to go on Reddit. I followed all the subreddits on the hobbies and the things that I like and upvote people's posts and comments. But for some reason, I rarely comment and even post on the subreddits, itself. That's because whenever I post or comment, I worry that people might not like what I say or what content that I post. And that they'll even say mean things about it, which makes me very emotional and might cause me to be depressed! For that reason, I just like stay in the background, be a lurker and just upvote things, since it's the only thing I know the best and it keeps me in my "safe space".

Then a few weeks ago, Reddit announced that they were increasing the price of the API, which basically kill the 3rd party apps, which made everyone very angry! So angry, that everyone decided that starting on tomorrow (June 12th), their planning to boycott Reddit by making their subreddits go dark or private for 48 hours. Some subreddits are even planning to stay dark, until the CEO can change his mind!

Knowing that most of the subreddits I followed is going dark or even disappear, I decided to make an account here, so I got something to keep me busy. Even after the 48 hour blackout ends, I'm planning to delete my Reddit account at the end of this month, since that's when Apollo (one of the most popular 3rd party app and the app I use) is shutting down, due to the developer announcing that he can't afford paying $20 million, per year to keep the app going.

I have use the official Reddit app before and it SUCKS! From ads to being slow itself, I never liked it and it was because of that, I switched to Apollo in 2021 and it was great using it! Now it's going to shut down on June 30th and not wanting to go back to seeing ads on the official app, I decided that after 6 and a half years of using Reddit, it was time to go and delete my account.

And here, I feel more...welcome? Like, people here seems nice and sometimes when I like their posts, they follow me (which is heartwarming for me because I have no friends irl, beside my family)! Of course, I follow them back to be nice to them.

I'll try to comment,post or reblog, once a while to keep people thinking that I'm a bot or sort. And I'll even make a friend or two. Of course, my autism will be keep me from doing that due to the anxiety and rejection that I fear the most.

I hope my post sounds okay, because I tend to stumble on my words and worry that people might not understand me.

And oh, FUCK YOU Reddit CEO, for screwing the developer of Apollo and trying to threaten him for telling the truth!
