Prompt 71
Klarion is delighted, excited, impatient, and so very happy. He’s found a friend, not the justice league baby-crew who don’t know how to make friends properly or the order-magician who doesn’t play right, but another realm-being his age! They’re even around the same death-date, his is just a couple years earlier! But to beings who aren’t adults until they’re well into the hundreds that’s practically nothing!
His new friend even has a familiar too- even if he has to explain what a familiar is- and, and even shares his two other friends with him!
He’s been in this world for what feels like so long trying to make friends and he’s made three in just a month! And they even know how to properly play and wrestle without targeting Teekl like a certain order lord who he doesn’t like.
Oh! Hey it’s the justice league kiddy-crew! Were they feeling neglected or something?

Babysitting duty calls, Klarion
It another world threatening battle for the justice league, young justice against the league of Villains and chaos children before most of the chaos children froze as if they sense something bad was approaching and immediately dipped out.. except klarion whom was fighting with raven who immediately froze up too late in front of the portal.
Only for a green portal to appear, as a worned out floating glowing green, but blue skinned teenage boy who turn into a man with red eyes, a clock staff in hand and a glowing white hair baby in a baby carrier.
Klarion is literally struggling like a feral cat who got wet in cold water against some invisible force speaking in some odd static like language before giving up after half a minute when the man spoke back with a short word.
The man now just shape-shifting into turn elderly just gave klarion the baby carrier before noticing how the heroes and villains have stop in mid battles looking at both klarion and him.
"All in soon time, but be warn Flashes whom break the laws of times will get their due if you keep messing with the past and future." Spoken the elderly now shape-shifted into a young boy before he turn back to klarion leaving him a note and glowing baby bag before floating back into the swirling green portal.
Klarion could only look at note with his eye twitching, Teekl meowing as she climb into the baby carrier purring around the glowing baby.
"Why do I keep getting babysitting duty, it so unfa-..." klarion grumbled as he pick up the baby carrier and bag teleporting away..
....
....
....
"What just happened?" Said Dick whom only one question would be put on hold til later in the watchtower of what just happen before the fight resuming with the young and original justice league winning since the league of Villains were distracted.

Danny kills the Joker. Every Joker.
So! As the King of the Infinite Realms, Danny has to deal with the complaints of his subjects a Lot.
Some of them want to suggest changes in certain Laws, others complain about other Ghosts who wronged them, but by far the most common reason was that they died in a violent manner and wanted revenge.
And by far, the main person they sought revenge for was the same person. A guy known as The Joker.
But unfortunately, as the Infinite Realms was connected to multiple Universes, many of those Complains were about different Jokers from alternate Universes. And there were so many of them that he couldn't really just kill a few of them and call it a day, at least some of his subjects would remain Unavenged. And that just wouldn't do!
So he just decided to do away with the whole lot.
Danny began to Personally Hunt Down every single version of the Joker in the Multiverse. Or at least the part of it that was connected to the Realms.
Unfortunately, the news that some ungodly eldritch being being was hunting the variants of the Joker across the entire Multiverse did not go unnoticed. Quickly enough, news spread across the Multiverse that somebody had decided to do away with the Clown that had been such a consistent thorn in the side of most Universes.
Eventually, that news reached the Main DC Universe, and got to Batman.
One day Batman was approached by Justice League Dark about the situation. They had managed to intercepted an Interdimensional message about what was happening, and decided to inform Batman ahead of time.
Now he had a choice.
Either he could try to stick by his Morals and protect even the Joker's life from an unknown force out for his life, or he could let it happen and absolve himself of the blame for the Jokers death.
It didn't help that for the past few days Jason had been in such a good mood after hearing about the Jokers impending Death.
He didn't really get to see Jason smile like that often...

Amity Candy Store
It turns out that having a portal to the Infinite Realms gives you resources to materials you've never seen before. Due to the recent peace treaty between Amity Parkers and ghosts they had begun to exchange products.
Some ghosts felt very nostalgic and wanted to try the food of the living again, or have access to objects not available on the dimension. Others simply wanted to show their shiny items to the liminals, after all there were so many portals on the dimension and they had a lot to trade!
One of those items was Kryptonite, ghosts were sure it was candy of some kind and told the liminals that and since ghosts and liminals could eat it without any consequences (Frostbite approved) the liminals assumed it was some kind of special candy. Like shiny rock candy.
So it is not surprising that when they opened a candy store they began to sell Kryptonite there. When the Justice League began to investigate the town's sudden silence from the outside world Clark didn't expect to feel extremely weak walking past the local candy store. Or that being around the local children would make him sick.

God's TV- DC x DP prompt
Accidentally summoning a god from another dimension can happen, especially when cults are involved. However, no can could predict that the not only was the god a teenage boy but also a very bored teenage boy who didn't want to leave.
So he stayed and moved into Titans tower.
Danny is helpful (when he wants to be) but rarely goes out on missions. He says they are boring and nothing is dangerous enough to exert the effort. Instead, he minds the medical bay. Having a healer more than made up for the lack of help.
It's not like anyone disliked Danny or thought he didn't do anything it was just that he was unpredictable. Danny could be nice, considerate, and even sweet if he was working in the medbay. He could also be a pain in the ass anywhere else. He loved pranks and scaring people with his powers. He was harmless though.
No one really knew what he did all day. He was usually in his room doing something they guested. Said room was an anomaly. It was larger on the inside having been made into a pocket dimension. The appearance and organization of the room changed every time you went in.
It was after one mission that the team learned what was in the room.
A rogue had used their invention to erase Superboy's memories and they didn't know what to do. They took him to Danny who was currently rearranging the medicine by color. They hoped that his powers covered mind-altering afflictions. Unfortunately, Danny couldn't wave a hand and fix this.
Instead, Danny took the group to his room. The decor was neon Tokyo meets space right now. The furniture was currently floating and almost hitting Wonder Girl in the head with an end table. Of course, there was no gravity here.
"Stay here while I grab it," Danny said flying up the vertical corridor.
While he was gone the room rearranged itself into a contemporary format. The furniture grounded itself and shifted into a normal living room.
Danny returned with a cart and a headset. He placed a card he pulled out of the cart into the headset and put it on the dazed Superboy's head.
"Wait what is that?" Tim asked.
"It's his memories. I kept a backup in case this happened." Danny shrugged.
Immediately everyone began asking what the hell does that mean and why does he have that.
"Oh please, this dimension has this happened all the time. Amnesia is so cliché and cheap. I saw a pattern and decided the easiest way to prevent you from losing the entirety of your lives was to make save states of your memories." Danny said matter of fact.
Robin pinched the bridge of his nose.
Impulse studied the rack of cases and looking for the card with his name on it.
Wondergirl sighed, she was used to this from Robin but even he wouldn't go this far.
"What? It's not like just anyone can find these. Only you can access your own memories anyways. I just decided to repurpose my RE:Viewer." Danny pouted.
"What is a reviewer?" Wally asked flipping through the cases. Each one had titles like moves or shows with an arrangement of stickers.
"The RE:Viewer is something I created to catalog things I've seen looking into other dimensions. I don't have an infinite memory you know. But the longer I have my title the more I'll lose touch with my mortality. These things help me stay close to people by giving me the chance to remember how it feels. I also have been using them to get the stories of others. Keeping their experiences like you'd keep a TV show or movie. So many stories could have been lost to time but now they are saved. I use them to teach myself." Danny smiled.
The concept genuinely sounded interesting. Like experiencing a movie in 4d.
It had been 3 minutes before Kon took off the headset and back to his old self.
Danny pulled the input card out and it disappeared into another realm with a flick of the wrist. Danny was completely honest that the copies were inaccessible to everyone but him.
"You feeling alright Superboy? Your memory should be backed up until a week ago." Danny said shining a light in his eye.
"I'm fine. I think. What happened?" Kon asked batting the light out of his eyes.
"Explanation later. Take a nap first. You aren't concussed at least." Danny informed.
"What are the stickers for?" Wally said pointing at the rainbow of colors the card cases had.
"Just the emotions associated with the experiences. Orange is comedy, red is action, pink is romance, and blue is tragedy." Danny listed. "That one with the pink is one of my favorites. I meddled a bit in that world. Two people who had never met fell in love at two points at different times. One of them was doomed to die but I worked my magic on a mirror that allowed them to meet once. They shared notes left in different places for the other months ahead. Makes you believe in true love. A real tear-jerker."
"What about the black stickers?" Wally asked.
"Don't touch the black ones," Danny said darkly, smacking his hand away. "You don't need to know about those. I don't like thinking about them."
"So you just take the memories of others and put them inside your machine to replay later?" Batgirl asked. "Isn't that kind of wrong?"
"No, I asked permission. I usually pull them aside at some point and ask. If it's my memories (that's the green stickers) I don't need to. The rainbow ones are simulations. Like a video games." Danny responded patting her on the back for not being to hard on him about this admittedly weird situation.
"So what's the black one with the rainbow sticker?" Wally asked picking up the case that was obviously stuffed in the back.
"STOP TOUCHING THOSE!" Danny yelled pulling him away.

Not sure why Danny wouldn't notice Damian being human shaped/sized if wraths are supposed to be so small.
Ooh, what if this is Giant Ghost King/Ghost Speach and emphathic core communication AU?
Danny decides to end this cycle of Wraith Wrangling, as he likes to call it, in the human city of Gotham. It had the highest concentration of Wraith Spirits, Shades, and Blob Ghosts he'd felt on this side of the Infinite Realms in ages, making it easier to pick up the stragglers from elsewhere first and using the naturally higher concentrations of ectoplasm in Gotham to open a large portal to the Infinite Realms without taxing his reserves of energy, already spread thin from the constant travel and portal creation all around the world.
Wraith Wrangling was a Kingly Duty that needed to be seen to every 50 to 100 years or so, depending on what had happened in the human world that might affect the creation of ghosts and whether the currents of ectoplasm that flowed between Realms had shifted recently.
Those souls created without the power to find and traverse the scarce rifts between worlds needed a guide to the Infinite Realms so they didn't end up stuck indefinitly, unable to wander far from the place of their death. However, the sheer amount of energy required made it all but impossible for anyone not directly hooked into the power of the Realms via the Throne to do so successfully.
It had been a busy time right after he'd been crowned King, as much of the running of the Infinite Realms had ground to a halt when the previous king, Pariah Dark, was locked away, including the guiding of new souls.
It was a little ironic, really, Danny mused as he approached Gotham with a small entourage of spirits. If the new souls hadn't been left to their fate of wandering the human world or Fading, increasing the ambient ectoplasm levels in the human world in a near constant trickle, there wouldn't have been enough ectoplasm for his parent's ghost portal to draw on in order to punch through into the Infinite Realms in the first place.
It was much harder nowadays to cross the Realms or open ghost portals in the human world as the ambient ectoplasm dropped back to pre-Pariah Dark levels after the mass exodus of spirits to the Realms and the start of regularly scheduled guiding trips.
Hitting the city limits, Danny let his energy surge out, a command for attention ringing from his core to echo through the city, a call for all ectoplasmic beings to gather to him as he started a slow spiral through the city towards a bend of the ectoplasm current that just barely breached into Gotham from the Realms. It would take some time to gather everyone together. The weaker ghosts would first need to absorb some of the energy Danny had sent out with his Call before being able to make the journey to him, though once close enough Danny could basically pull them along with him as he went, with the ghosts both feeding on and riding in the eddies of ectoplasm generated from him as he moved.
The Shades would be first, they had the most cognitive awareness and were most like what humans thought of as ghosts: intelligent beings capable of ghost speech who still had memories of their life and a strong enough personality to imprint the ambient ectoplasm around them with their consciousness after death. They would also be the least in number; as most of them had enough energy and drive to find and use the rifts into the Infinite Realms in the time between guiding trips.
In contrast, wraiths were more of a snapshot of a person at the time of their death. Less conscious as a whole, mostly using their core to communicate thoughts and feelings and with almost no memories of their human life they were driven almost completely by instinct and their obsessions, usually preferring to group together and haunt where there was enough ectoplasm to help sustain them. As such, they made up the bulk of each trip, hence the Wraith Wrangling name, and would take longer to make it to him.
Blob ghosts were never actually alive; forming directly from ectoplasm when enough of it pooled together. They were the Infinite Realms' answer to most flora and fauna, a prey species that schooled together like fish, incapable of ghost speech and entirely dependent on the empathic vibrations of their cores to communicate between themselves. Most of them were consumed by other ghosts during the trips, but it was always better to bring any left back where they would be able to feed on the abundant ectoplasm and join the large schools of blob ghosts that migrated through the Realms.
Drifting along, invisible and intangible, Danny yawned, flashing a set of large fangs. It would be nice to finally finish this last trip and head back to the Realms. It was always fun to take a peek at what had changed since his last trip through the human world, but he was looking forward to being done and spending some time telling his Fright about all the interesting things he'd seen while he'd been gone.
Bruce was not having a good time. Most of the Justice League was scattered around the world, investigating a series of energy surges while he coordinated from the Watchtower, leaving Red Robin and Robin to hold the fort in Gotham while Nightwing and Red Hood investigated a possible lead with the League of Assassins, as the energy spikes most closely resembled radiation from the Lazarus Pits when analyzed.
Whatever the anomaly was, it was jamming technology in the area during the energy spike, making almost all forms of remote scanning impossible before disappearing and showing up again sometimes hundreds of miles from the previous site. It was frustrating and concerning. Superman was off world on a mission right now, and there was no one fast enough to travel between sites once the Watchtower scanners picked up on it. So far there had been no luck in actually locating the cause of the energy spikes before it disappeared.
An incoming message from Red Robin came through the comm unit and Bruce quickly accepted it, "Red Robin, anything to report?"
Static crackled through the connection, instantly putting Bruce on edge. There shouldn't be any problems with the connection between the Batcave and the Watchtower, had something happened in Gotham?
"B, we're ---- energ-- readings. Match--- anomaly profi--. Robi-- nd I are on rou--- investiga--."
It seemed the energy anomaly had appeared in Gotham, with only Robin and Red Robin on hand to immediately begin investigating before it disappeared again. "Copy, Red Robin. Be careful and keep your distance; the signal jammer is interfering with our communicators. I'll have backup sent your way as soon as possible."
"--py, Batm--. We'l--- carefu--. Re-- bin ou-"
Bruce immediately began contacting other JL members. Whatever was jamming the signal was getting worse, probably the closer they got to the anomaly, though it wasn't yet showing on the Watchtower scanners. Hopefully Robin and Red Robin would be fine until backup arrived. Nothing beyond the energy spikes themselves and the temporary technological issues had been recorded in any of the previous locations. No reports of missing persons, injuries, or property damage, a few isolated reports of 'feelings of dread', but that could be simple human paranoia in response to the unknown.
In any case, hopefully they would have some answers shortly.
Damian scowled as he grappled onto a rooftop. He and Red Robin had split up slightly while they attempted to triangulate the energy anomaly. It was annoying to always check that he was still within visual range due to a lack of working communicators, but he could feel, somehow, that he was going in the right direction. Drake insisted on trying to use his scanners to get as much information as possible before moving on, which made progress slow as the scanning equipment glitched repeatedly.
It had been Damian that had felt something wash over him earlier in the evening. Almost immediately after, Drake had alerted him to the strange readings he'd picked up across the city on the Bat Computer, contacting Bruce at the Watchtower before they'd suited up and headed out.
Quickly growing frustrated at the glacial pace when it felt like there was an insistent tugging in his chest to move, Damian made his way over to Drake. "While you attempt to get more scanner readings, I will scout ahead and see if I can find the source."
Drake turned to Damian with a frown. "Alright, but don't get too far away, comms are completely down for now and I'm having trouble picking up a definite direction on the scanner."
Damian gave a short nod and turned away, quickly grappling in the direction he felt almost compelled to move in. He was getting close, the hunting instincts ingrained from his assassin training flared and he bared his teeth. He would find whatever this was and drag the answers he wanted from it
It had been many years since Danny became the ghost king, the embodiment of the balance between Life and Death, the Living World and the Infinite Realms, and he's only gotten stronger with every year, with every victory over those who would challenge his authority or try and take the Throne to the Realms for themselves.
It was... interesting, to find that strength translated over to his ghost form as size. He'd known he would be in for some growth, his dad's size and Dan's sheer mass had hinted at it, but becoming King and being connected to the entirety of the Infinite Realms had been more than he had bargained for at the time.
Danny had condensed himself down for this trip, as anything larger than small-building-sized was just too large and unwieldy in the human world, unless he was in space.
The Shades, Wraiths, and blobs floated in a thick cloud around him. They had arrived at the ectoplasm current, and Danny could feel the last of the ghosts arriving, his core sending out a constant thrum of /peace/safety/belonging/comehere/ to keep everyone calm as they waited.
There was a niggling sense of something at the edge of Danny's awareness though. It had been there for the last bit of the way through the city, a faint and almost distorted response to the Call he was sending out.
It felt like a Wraith, a weak one that was not grouping up properly with the rest of them. Was it hurt? Had something happened to it? He gathered the energy needed to open a portal large enough to accommodate both himself and the large number of ghosts he had with him as he strengthened the Call, /Peace/Safety/Belonging/COMEHERE/, trying to get the little Wraith to come.
When that only brought the little Wraith a bit closer Danny became very worried. His authority as King should have brought it flying in with the last of the stragglers. It must be very hurt if it couldn't even fly the rest of the way here. He'd have to make sure and take it to see Frostbite once they got back to the Realms.
Locating the little Wraith on a nearby roof, Danny smiled. It was a colorful little thing, red, green, and yellow with bright white eyes. He'd have to be tangible to carry it through the portal if it couldn't make it. Which meant this was going to be a very flashy trip home, with him going visible at the last minute to go through the portal so the poor humans still going around at night didn't run into him on accident while he was tangible and hurt themselves. Good thing this was going to be the last trip, he'd just have to make it quick.
Tim cursed as the scanner squealed shrilly before glitching again. That jump in energy output was consistent with readings from the Watchtower scanners when they picked up the anomaly just before it stopped and reappeared at a different location. If they were going to get any information on what this was, it would have to be now or never.
Looking around, he quickly spotted Robin on a roof not too far from him, his attention seemingly fixed off to left. Tim would have to make his way over to regroup and see what they could pick up on the instruments before the anomaly passed.
Coming in for a landing on the next roof over, Tim nearly flailed right back off the side as a giant green portal became visible in the sky. It hadn't opened or ripped itself into being, rather it seemed to materialize between one heartbeat and the next.
Righting himself, his eyes widened and he froze momentarily as an enormous serpentine figure appeared just behind Damian. It was easily three stories tall. Long? The figure was laid out in the air horizontally, with a humanoid top half, albeit with a green glow surrounding it and making it's skin shimmer like starlight in the darkness where is wasn't covered by what looked like dark colored armor, the color unclear. It had pointed ears, clawed hands, and white hair that floated around their head. The bottom half was one long tail, serpentine and tapering down to a point rather than finned like a fishtail, which appeared semi translucent with galaxies of stars turning in an intricate dance inside of it.
It was beautiful and terrible and Tim let out an involuntary sound of horror as the figure bore down on Damian, faster than anything that big should have been able to move, scooping him up in one huge hand before Damian had time to do more than startle and begin turning to face the being. They were heading towards the open portal at breakneck speed, Tim would never be able to catch them before they made it through.
In a fit of desperation, Tim grabbed a Bat Tracker, stuck it to the end of his grappling hook and launched it at the rippling tail of the being. It hit just as it passed through the portal, the force not enough to even phase the being as it didn't bother looking around while the portal closed behind it.
Tim stood there in shock for a moment before starting to panic. It had been seconds. Seconds and his little brother had been abducted by a gigantic creature and taken for unknown reasons through an unknown portal to an unknown place, with only one measly tracker on the creature that might not stay on or even work with the amount of technological interference they'd been dealing with.
Tim could only hope that the trackers in Damian's suit would be enough to find him if he was able to make an escape from where ever he'd been taken.
Then his comm beeped.
Oh no. He was going to have to tell Batman that he'd let Damian get kidnapped by an enormous, flying, glowing snake person while on his watch.
Fuck.
Damian cursed fluently in a mixture of Arabic and English as he squirmed against the grip the giant being had on him.
It wasn't crushing, but at the same time there was no give whatsoever in the hand cradling him against an enormous chest, which was vibrating in a near subsonic purr that had his muscles threatening to rebel and turn him into a pile of relaxed putty with absolutely no input from his brain.
The deep, almost whale-song-like crooning was not helping, pushing a feeling of calm, safety, and care at him that he did not trust for a moment. The being had kidnapped him! Through a portal into some kind of glowing green dimension! He would not calm down!
Danny crooned at the little Wraith as he snuggled it up close to his core. It was a feisty little thing, wiggling and squeaking, which boded well for its energy levels regardless of the weak core response. Once he got them to Frostbite's he was sure the yeti would be able to heal it.
Aaaaand that's all I've got atm. First fanfic, yay!
Danny things Damian is a wrath
Do ghost king Danny has to help a heard of Wrath's cross over from the living world to the ghost zone
It's this big thing that happens every 50 years because wrath are to small to have any awareness of their surroundings they need someone to guide them to the ghost zone
Danny usually starts in the most wrath-infested place he can find, in this case, it's a city called Gotham(Danny has some comments on the name)
The weird thing is there seems to be a kinda sick wrath that just... won't follow
It keeps following him but won't join the pack, which is a very bad thing for a wrath
So Danny concerned for this wrath's health scoops it up to take to frostbite, but he still needs to herd all the healthy wraths back to the ghost zone so the little one has to join him, and Danny starting to think this one has some unfinished business because it's one fiesty little guy
On another note the batfam are losing their minds over Damian being kidnapped during a scouting mission
#dpxdc#dp x dc#theskit writes#like sure Danny remembers English#but he's spent so long speaking nothing but Ghost Speech in the Infinite Realms#that the sounds that Damian is making aren't translating for him when mixed with Arabic#and the expectation of Wraiths to communicate via their core#also Danny's English would sound so archiac by this point in the timeline#like a Gen Z communicating in verbal memes with someone that spoke nothing but Olde English

By all accounts, it shouldn't have worked.
By all bloody accounts, that should not have worked.
Constantine will repeat.
That, by all accounts, should not have worked.
The warehouse was shitty. The materials were shitty. The summoning circle was shitty. The chanting was shitty. The magic was shitty.
By all accounts, the summoning should not have worked.
So Constantine couldn't give much of a shit about really stopping it because the summoning was so shitty it shouldn't have worked by an means possible.
So what. In the ever-loving fuck. Was the Ghost King, known tyrant of the Infinite Realms. Standing in the middle of the circle and not, last he checked, imprisoned?
That was another thing that he thought would have made it fail, actually. Because the Ghost King was incapacitated, asleep, gone, unavailable, nada.
So what. The fuck. Was he doing. Here?
Constantine knew the day was going to well to stay that way but wow. The universe loves to fuck him over, apparently.
Or the Justice League in specific.
Or both.
Doesn't matter, because now he has to bullshit his way out of this or get ready to brawl for his life.
Good thing he's good at both of those things, then.
Mostly the bullshit-
"Phantom what the fuck are you doing-" Constantine wheezed out, watching one of their newest members-a ghost going by the name Phantom-fly over in front of the known tyrant and-
Oh.
Oh, holy shit this won't end well.
Ghost King.
Phantom. A ghost.
Well, shit.
This is fine. This is totally fine. He just needs to bullshit his way out of this or face two powerhouses.
This is fine.
He's done worse.
"Sup War" Phantom said, floating around the summoning circle that contained the king of all ghosts like it wasn't a problem. "Didn't expect to be seeing you here."
"Ward." The Ghost King inclined his head slightly, eyes trained on Phantom. "I would not have come here if not for Time's insistence and I have been meaning to..." The King paused, hands gripping and ungrasping the pommel of his sword. "...Check in... on you."
"Aww, were you worried about lil old meeeee?" Phantom, ever the little shit and holy shit did Constantine want to go over there and shut him up, said. Floating around until he was staring upside down in the Ghost King's face. "Didn't know you were so soft, pa."
"I am not soft." The King huffed, flame dancing at the edges of his hair. "I was merely... concerned. Over how you would be acclimating to your circumstances. This world's League of Justice covers far more than your small haunt."
"Weeeell, it's not that bad honestly." Phantom admitted. "Haven't really done anything too big yet just some smallish things here and there. So, you know." The ghost boy shrugged, swinging back in the air to turn upright and crossing his legs. "Nothing too bad."
"Good." The Ghost King nodded, shoulders slumping so slightly that if Constantine wasn't looking, he wouldn't have seen it. "That is good. Yes. Good." The King slightly cleared his throat, grasping and ungrasping the pommel of his sword.
Silence echoed in the warehouse as the King seemingly looked for words to say.
"Would you..." He cleared his throat again, squaring his shoulders and standing up straighter. "Would you like to join me and Time for a meeting? It has been some time since you had last joined us." The King shifted slightly before adding. "Of course, if you're busy you do not have too."
"Sure." Phantom said, rolling back and forth in the air as he hummed. "Been a while since we've had some family time-"
"Family time?" Constantine caught someone-who he thinks was Green Lantern-say. He was just as bewildered.
"And if Time sent you here then it must be important." Danny paused before shrugging. "Or maybe not, can never know with him. But yea, sure. I'll come."
"Wonderful." The Ghost King smiled. Smiled. At Phantom. "Then I shall. Leave. Now. To do. Things. Yes. Things." The summoning circle flashed a familiar green, the same green when the King was first being summoned. "Goodbye, ward."
"You can call me son, you know."
The King paused for a moment, blinking slowly before hesitantly nodding.
"Then goodbye. Son."
The circle flashed and just like that. The king was gone.
"Kid. What the fuck." Whoever said- okay wait no that was Constantine, him. But yea fuck it he agrees with himself. "What the fuck." He repeated.
Phantom, the brat, only gave him a shit eating grin and a peace sign before disappearing on the spot.

do you think Falin's chimerism would affect her lifespan and behaviors? or just her body? maybe she can make more animalistic noises or has vague dragon-like instincts?
that’s a really good question! I think we could probably figure this out by taking a look at what we know about Falin, what we know about red dragons, whether these things would apply to Falin, and go from there.
The obvious external changes Falin has are: her eyes, her teeth, and her feathers.
It’s hard to pin down what Falin is like! Throughout the duration of the manga, she wasn’t really a character so much as a plot device. We have almost nothing told from her point of view, and the majority of her unbiased (as in, we’re seeing her through a neutral lens and not another character’s perception of her) characterization is from the post-canon omake.
Even Falin believes that her wanderlust might come from her dragon side, but she's not sure. Personally, I think it’d make a lot of sense if it kind of does, in the sense that she has 20/20 vision now, haha! For most of her life, she could probably only see clearly within a relatively small sphere surrounding her, and now she can see everything. She can look up and around freely in a way she couldn’t before. Fuck man, if I had magic lasik I’d probably go out more too.
Some other quirks that are really unclear whether it’s typical for Falin or chimera-influenced:
she enters rooms through windows, sometimes. And given the leaves in her hair, I think it’s reasonable to assume this is not the first floor 💀 But who knows! Maybe that’s not new for Falin.
She points out that Laios’s scent could deter monsters. Maybe she has enhanced smell. But again, it isn’t unreasonable to think this is something she would have said before. (I think even Chilchuck and Izutsumi, whose senses of smell are enhanced, can’t identify scents well. Kuro, however, can.)
VIOLENCE! But again, we’ve seen her beat shit with her staff before, and she also used to wield a flail. It IS a trait for red dragons to fight any large threat, so if anything, she’s got even better monster fighting instincts than before. I don't think this would carry over to people. Falin has always been better with people, and I'm personally not a fan of seeing her depicted as territorial or possessive. Marcille is already the possessive one, and didn't need dragon blood to be like that.
Ultimately, I don't think her dragon traits extend much farther beyond this. Especially when you consider How Little the dragon is represented as in her conscience.
it's not like it's a 50/50 split. She's like a person with a dragon ratatouille. I don't think she'd be able to make dragon noises. I don't think her body is built for that. I know there's like, a set list of tropey characteristics that are given to almost every non-human character in fiction. and sure that's FINE but they tend not to be especially personalized to the character, and tend to just be an excuse to write them OOC. Like, sure, dragons may have instincts regarding sleep habits, hunting, courting, raising young, etc etc, but so do humans! And we don't compulsively act on every instinctual whim we have. I don't see why it'd be any harder for her new dragon instincts.
If anything, I think she'd feel more affected by the fact that she has part of the demon in her.
I don't think Falin's in any sort of trouble. All the demon was was a way to communicate with people. Here, it's representing Falin's tether to the infinite realm, to mana itself. The winged lion no longer has the desire to consume anymore because, yknow, Laios has that now. This is very likely why she no longer needs to chant to cast magic.
But what else does this mean for her? She already had unusually high reserves of mana + an innate connection with spirits, but is her mana essentially limitless now? How would that affect her lifespan? I'm leaning towards, it wouldn't really?? But is she immune to mana sickness now? Is it more like her magic is just sort of amplified like it would be in a dungeon?
We can infer that having more mana doesn't increase your lifespan, because-- while elves and gnomes have both naturally high levels of mana and longer lifespans-- dwarves live longer but have lowest levels of mana of all.
So to answer your question! Maybe a little bit?? But I don't think she'd change a whole lot.

Prompt 278
You know what I’ve gotten obsessed with and inspired by? Dredge.
You know what is also fun? Merfolk. What’s even better? Lovecraftian corrupted merfolk. Especially if say, one goes with the Lazarus Waters being a form of ectoplasm. So, in this? Lazarus waters are like lakes, while Amity Park, thanks to the Portal, and the barriers? It is an entire sea.
There are islands, small areas that were once the tips of buildings that have gathered more landmass around them. There are mangroves, trees not like anything on earth or anywhere else stretching up in canopies dark enough to block out the sun, yet lit by the green waters.
It goes deep. Mariana Trench deep, despite it being impossible. The GIW have explored for caves or tunnels, they’ve tried to find some sort of explanation, but there isn’t one.
Now all that ecto? That has an effect on people. They mutate, they change, they adapt. Anywhere else would have been a slow death- something the GIW might have even been counting on. But Amity Park? It was founded by witches, it was the hotspot for the supernatural, even before the Fentonwork Portal. They’ve been dealing with this sort of energy in microdoses from the moment they first began to live in the city in any generation.
But they begin to adapt. Shift into something… other. Some stay contaminated, clinging to human forms as they form homes on the tiny islands, fishing and farming what they can. Others become Liminal, almost seeming to meld with fish, some similar to ones of the Living and others something just to the left. Similar yes, but not quite… right. And then there are those that have truly melded with the energy of the dead, forms torn asunder by it, ripped apart and made anew by it.
The first sign back when the barrier was activated, when they could no longer leave and were trapped were the fish in the lake. And now they are the same, with gazes of something Else, with gnashing teeth and a hunger gnawing at where hearts once were.
But they aren’t monsters. They’re still themselves. Just a little… Other now.
#DCxDP#DPxDC#Prompts#Eldritch Ghosts#Liminal Amity Park#Merfolk AU#They see nothing wrong with each other because they’ve gotten used to it#Also yes they can ‘swim’ in the air too#Seriously check out the Dredge Wiki if u aren’t up for playin- at least look at the Aberrations#Even the more human-looking Parkers (usually elderly but not always) still look Off#While others have become deep sea nightmares#I see the fact there’s an entire Lazarus ecosystem in the middle of nowhere Illinois interesting Absolutely No One#People Definitely Doesn’t Have A Fishing Boat Out There Trying To Fish Up The Pit Creatures#Honestly GIW might do that too & have some fucked up fish- they keep failing at catching a parker who knows better#Clockwork and others visit too sometimes & it’s like seeing a Fucking Incomprehensible Leviathan#If the Infinite Realms is the Open Ocean then Amity is a Sea where whales go to set up their nursery#Idk if any of this makes sense I’ve been sick the last few days lol#Dredge Au

DPxDC idea: The Batarang Incident kills Jason and he returns as an Infinite Realms ghost.
Humans are not inclined towards surviving incidents like having their throats cut or being in an explosion that brings down a building on them. One after the other, with no rescue or medical attention? Jason died again in that confrontation with Batman and the Joker. He returns as a Ghost of the Infinite Realms.
For one reason or another, perhaps he forms right away right next to his corpse, perhaps Batman never looks for his body, Jason is able to return to being the Red Hood without much trouble. Sure he covers every inch of skin and uses a voice changer, but he did that before, it's nothing new. If he's a bit more paranoid about it, well chalk it up to his father having stuck a batarang in his neck the last time he removed his helmet.
Jason is just glad that his suit covers up the glow. Because he does that now. Glow. All the time. Compared to the glowing? Inhuman changes of colouration are just window dressing. Getting a hang of his new powers took a couple of weeks, but the timing was convenient - people might have expected him to be out of the game for months with the injuries he should have had.
So Jason's ghost now. It's fine. When he asked his father Batman to choose between killing him or letting him kill the Joker, he can't say this was an outcome he expected. But it's fine. Everything is fine.
(It's not fine.)

DPxDC Ring of Rage? More Like Ring of Engage [pt.2]
[<- part 1 | part 3 ->]
Tim doesn't remember what happened. What he does remember is that he was in the middle of an apocalypse with no idea how to survive it, a few of his friends and family dead, and clinging to the last possible resort with no hope it would actually make a difference.
He remembers thinking whatever happened next could not be worse than what he's already been through.
And then, he remembers an unfamiliar voice, a cheeky grin, and a light so bright he had to squint his eyes shut not to be blinded.
When he opened them again, he was back in the Cave, and, as he found out a few moments later, when a panicking Dick ran up to him and attempted to squeeze the dear life out of his body with a crushing hug, back in time by three weeks. With the whole recollection of what happened before- Well, after that.
And, it was not only him who got to keep all the important memories. The rest of the Bats remembered everything as well, and the League, and even a few others, all of whom were somehow connected to said apocalypse, which had not yet happened.
Tim looked down to the Ring.
He did not tell anyone why or how they got a second chance.
A month later, with the crisis safely averted and his anxiety buzzing under his skin, Tim locked himself up in the Nest, pressed his lips to the cold metal on his finger once again, and whispered a quiet, "Thank you."
He did not know what he expected in response, but certainly not a snort right by his ear and an incorporeal voice that seemed to come from every direction at once.
"You're welcome." It was not ominous, not solemn or anything of sorts. If anything, the voice sounded like Duke whenever Tim thanked him for a fresh cup of coffee the boy brought to the Cave for him. Entirely unbothered and offhanded, and a little bit fond, like somehow saving Tim's whole world was not a big deal.
Well, maybe it wasn't, for whoever the voice belonged to.
Tim looked at the Ring again. Then, he looked around, not sure how to proceed. As far as his analysis went, the King - because who else it might have been? - did not want anything in return, nor did they intend on keeping in contact. And, technically, that was probably a good thing. Because, yeah, right, any normal and sane person would prefer to stay away from getting unnecessarily involved with beings of immeasurable power.
However, Tim did not think of himself as either normal or sane.
So, he clicked his tongue, annoyed and on the verge of pouting, "Really? That's it? 'You're welcome'?"
For a second, nothing happened.
Then, there was a startled, surprised snort of laughter, and, a moment later, a boy floating in the air a few feet away from Tim.
Tim blinked. The supposed almighty monarch of Infinite Realms, Keeper or Worlds and whatever, did not look particularly kingly. If anything, he looked very much unkingly.
Not much older than Tim - so, twenty or somewhat around it - wearing something that he'd expect Jason to wear on a daily basis. Cargo pants, an unzipped jacket with its sleeves rolled up, a t-shirt with some rock band logo, none of which exactly screamed 'royalty' to Tim. There was a matter of floating, of course, and the boy's hair was so white that it actually hurt to look at it directly, but other than that, the King looked...
Almost absurdly normal.
He was also holding a big, although already half-empty cup of bobba milk tea, and lazily reclining in the air without a care in the world.
"You want some?" The boy asked when he caught Tim staring at his drink.
Tim blinked. The vision of a floating boy in his living room did not disappear.
"I, um," he stammered over words, searching for any kind of answer, and then shook his head, "No, thanks?" The words came out more like a question than a statement. The boy pursed his lips and shrugged.
"Your loss. It's from the best place ever," he paused, looking up to the ceiling and frowning, "I don't think it exists in this timeline."
Tim shakes his head again, like trying to kickstart his thought process. It doesn't work.
"So, you're..." he trails off, and the boy startles before moving in the air and shifting so his feet actually touch the ground. His hair and jacket still both act like gravity doesn't exist.
"Oh, right. I forgot I never introduced myself," he gives Tim a sheepish grin, "It's kind of strange, seeing that I did spend about three years around you. I'm Danny, or Phantom," he offers Tim a hand and then tilts his head slightly, "But never Daniel, for the record."
That is honestly too much information in just three sentences. Tim shakes the offered hand - which is way too cold to be actual human hand - mostly on reflex.
"I'm Tim," he adds dumbly, and Danny grins.
"Yeah, I know."
Which brings Tim back to what the boy said before, and he frowns.
"Wait, you said you've spent three years around me?" That means, since around the time Tim first put the Ring on, if he is not mistaken. The boy rubs the back of his neck.
"Yeah, well, I wanted to see who you were before I made myself known, but your family is a really nosy bunch, and you're quite literally never alone, and I kind of didn't want to scare you, so..."
"So you stalked me for three years," Tim finishes the sentence when Danny trails off. The boy grimaces and makes a so-so expression.
"I mean, you all did think I was some kind of an eldritch monster that's going to spirit you away or something. Showing up unannounced would be awkward at the least," he reasons. Tim can't argue with it when he puts it that way.
So, instead, he reaches for the cup in Danny’s hand and snatches it away, taking a sip before the boy is able to protest. It does taste like the best bobba he tried, so there's that.
"Are you?" He asks, tapping the straw on his chin as Danny floats up again, seemingly unbothered about the stolen drink. Looks like keeping his feet on the floor is either uncomfortable or rather unnatural for him.
"Am I what?" Danny raises one eyebrow.
"An eldritch monster?" Tim clarifies, and, between one moment and another, the sight of the semi-normal, albeit floating, guy in front of him distorts like a glitching video. Glimpses of bright, neon green eyes, sharp, inhuman teeth, and shadows crawling around the room fill Tim's vision, making him gasp sharply, but all of that is gone as soon as he blinks. Danny shrugs.
"I can be," he admits easily, "But most of the times, I'm not."
Tim looks at him thoughtfully, narrowing his eyes and taking another long sip of the drink. The bobba pearls taste vaguely like mango when he chews them.
On one hand, this is a very much unknown, possibly dangerous magic creature. On the other, the creature's name is Danny, and he does have a good taste for food, so how bad can it really be?
"Cool," he shrugs finally, offering the cup back, "Wanna go out some time?"
Danny smiles so bright that Tim can't help but return it and takes the almost empty drink, his fingers brushing over Tim's.
"I thought you'd never ask," he snorts.

Summoning the Boy King
Darkseid was rampaging through Metropolis, Superman was injured, and the Justice League was desperate. As the League hid between fallen skyscrapers, John Constantine prepared a last-ditch effort to save the Earth.
The Hellblazer drew an intricate sigil on the ground; its circular design stretching over six feet in diameter. Most of the symbols within were space-related, while the others were themed to royalty. Batman, one of the few heroes in-the-know, grunted.
"Are you sure this king ghost can help?"
Constantine sighed and pinched his nose.
"He's the High King of the Infinite Realms, Bats, an' he's bloody powerful. He'll stop Darkseid, alright, but what he does afterward is anyone's guess. Believe me, I wouldn't be doin' this if we had a choice."
Batman sighed and glanced at the smoke-filled horizon.
"Alright, get on with it, then. We're running out of time."
Constantine nodded and placed a single offering in the center of the sigil: a squishmallow of Disney's iconic blue alien, Stitch.
"I beg your finest pardon," Batman sputtered, "What on Earth is that?"
Constantine sighed again as he took his position at the edge of the sigil.
"Mate, the book was very specific. Unlike his predecessor, the new king requires a single offering of space or alien theme that is suitable for children. It's bloody strange, but beggars can't be choosers."
Batman just shook his head and looked on. Constantine raised his hands and started the summoning chant. An eerie, green glow spread across the sigil, and light fog gathered above it. Little white orbs floated up from the ground and spiraled together, forming the slowly spinning visage of a spiral galaxy.
"Incredible..." Zatanna gasped, "This summoning is on a level all its own. This king of yours is on the level of Gods."
Finally, something began to form over the small galaxy. Batman's expression quickly softened, much to the surprise of his teammates. It was mere seconds before they understood, as a black blob full of white stars formed into the shape of a boy. The blob had spiky 'bangs' if you could call them that and eerie, glowing green eyes.
The squishmallow floated into the boy's arms and he squeezed it excitedly. At the same time, he took on a far more human form, with pale skin and snowy white hair. His eyes had whites now but still glowed green. He was dressed in black and white, royal attire with green accents, a black crown floating in a green aurora, and a black ring with a green stone. A black cape flowed down his back, its underside looking as if it were cut from a clear night sky.
"Awesome offering, dude! What can I do for ya?"
The voice was a reedy tenor in the throes of puberty, and its owner was more than a little geeky. The boy's smile was infectious, or it would have been were it not for the specific circumstance.
"How old are you?" Batman asked, his tone soft, "We weren't expecting a child."
The boy waved him off like it was nothing.
"No one ever does. And, um... technically I'm fifteen. I know, I don't look it."
Constantine cut in, clearly out of patience.
"Look, this monster Darkseid is destroying our world. We need you to stop him."
The boy turned in the air and took in the destruction around him. Somehow, he seemed to understand the situation immediately.
"Okay, but I gotta get permission first. This'll take a lot of power." He paused, taking a breath, and then yelled in a strange language. "Mom!"
Constantine paled and the other heroes shrank back as a green portal tore into existence. A young woman, barely an adult herself, floated out. She had waist-length blue hair and the same glowing, green eyes. She wore a royal outfit in white and maroon, complete with a glittering, silver tiara studded with rubies.
"What's the matter, Danny? Are you okay?"
Danny nodded.
"Mhmm! These guys need me to take out this Darkseid guy, though. Can I use my full power?"
Constantine snuck a drink from his flask. He did not sign up to deal with the fucking Queen Mother of the Infinite Realms, nor had he known she existed. God, he needed a smoke...
The Queen Mother smiled softly and pressed a kiss to her son's forehead. She spoke whilst taking his new plush.
"Yes, Danny, you may. Let me hold onto this for you so it doesn't get dirty."
Danny nodded and turned away.
"Okay, thanks mom!"
The Queen Mother vanished through and with the portal she had created. Moments later, Danny shot off into the city, with the remaining able-bodied heroes hot on his trail. The young king reached Darkseid rather quickly, engaging him while the Leaguers looked on from cover. Darkseid was foolishly amused.
"A child dares oppose me? Flee, whelp."
Batman tensed as Darkseid unleashed his Omega Effect. Two red beams shot from his eyes, and yet the young king floated firm. Two eerie, green beams shot from his own eyes and, to the shock of everyone, overpowered his foe's. Darkseid shattered into many tiny pieces which then vanished into thin air.
"Man, he really wasn't smart!" Danny grinned, "Who fires a death beam at the king of the dead?"
He received no response, as the heroes were too stunned to speak. Smiling, he saluted the group before tearing open another portal.
"Oh well; villain gone, carry on. Later guys!"
Batman glared at Constantine, but the Brit had already absconded. Heaving a sigh, he resigned himself to this new reality. Darkseid was gone, but there was an incredible new power to worry about.
(Note: My only source of information is DP canon, DP fanon, and the Justice League cartoons from the early '00s. I apologize for any inaccuracies with Batman's or Constantine's behavior.)

It takes a lot to break a ghost. After all, even death didn’t keep them down for long, not in any way that mattered.
There is, however, a sure fire way to utterly crush a ghost’s core without even touching it.
Find their grave, and defile it.
It is the height of cruelty. It is the ultimate act of disrespect. It is violation, of the deepest kind, an act that can never, ever be allowed to go unpunished.
As Danny stared at the remains of the toppled over rock tower that Tucker and Sam had made for him all those years ago, to honor his death, he wasn’t sure if he could survive this.
——
Please.
Zatanna looked around. The magician knew better than to write off the sound as a trick of her mind.
You have to help him. Please. He’s just a child.
“Who? What’s wrong?” Zatanna asked, heart aching for the grieving whispers of the young voice.
My brother. His grave. It’s been destroyed. Please.
Zatanna’s hair stood on ends. “What’s his name? Where is it?”
Amity Park. His name is Phantom. Please. Hurry.
Her heart skipped a beat. Phantom. The name of the Infinite Realm’s Champion, the future king.
“Shit. I’m on my way. Can you lead me there?”
I can’t. I won’t be here for much longer. Tell him Jazz sent you. Please. Help him. Help him.
“I will.”
When Zatanna portals out of her dressing room, she catches a flash of red hair.
——
“CONSTANTINE!”
“Gah! Zatanna?” John Constantine fell out of his chair, legs slipping from their place propped onto the table.
“Emergency! Infinite Realms level. Someone destroyed Phantom’s grave.”
Constantine scrambled upwards, pulling on his coat as his mind all but bleated like a highland goat at the sound of “Infinite Realms” and “Phantom’s grave.” Destroying a ghost’s grave might destroy the ghost, but if they survive the initial splintering, right before their final death, they’ll explode in a ball of fury. Normally, it would be slightly less of a problem. Normally, it wouldn’t be the most powerful ghost in the Infinite Realms. Normally, this wouldn’t happen. Normally, even if it did, it wouldn’t risk a war none of the universes would win. The Infinite Realms loves prince Phantom. Their grief over this… even if he survives, the consequences would be unimaginable.
“You contact the League. I have to go fix this, right now.”
John doesn’t bother going for his hottle, because he unfortunately needed to do this sober.
“Go, go!”
——
Danny doesn’t turn even as he hears the crunch of grass blades. He sits, staring blankly at what used to be his grave marker.
“Hi, there,” it’s a woman. She sounds sad. Danny understands, because all he feels is a whistling hole where his heart used to be. “Are you Phantom?”
Danny sighs, ice crackling at his lungs. He knows, when this is over, he’ll find it in himself to rage. If he doesn’t shatter from this, he knows he’ll take Amity out. Perhaps he’d spare this one. It’s been a long time since anyone bothered visiting or even knew about his grave.
“Your highness…your sister sent me. Jazz?”
That got Danny’s attention. Glowing green eyes peeked from the curled ball of ghost to stare Zatanna down.
She swallowed.
“She… had red hair?”
“Why are you here?” Why did she send you? He doesn’t say. Zatanna seems to understand anyways.
“To help. Please, will you let me help?”
Danny looks down at the ice freezing her feet to the ground and thinks of the kind set of her eyes, the steel backing her spine, the carefully nonthreatening posture. Yes, Jazz would send this kind of person to help him.
The ice melts.
“Thank you.”
Danny watches as she approaches his destroyed grave. She glances back for his permission. He shrugs. It’s destroyed. Nothing would ever bring it back.
And then, he was proven wrong.
Zatanna’s eyes glow, and the stones began melding itself back together- no, it was reversing the damage and zooming back to its proper place.
“Oh.”
The damage to his core was still there. But… he won’t kill this one at all.
Or her friends, who stand at the edge of the clearing with the soul-torn one standing at the helm.
“Is this… alright, your highness?”
Danny stares at Zatanna. His voice is hoarse but… but it’s not on the verge of insanity anymore.
“Do you always come to graves without an offering?”
He knows he’s being rude. He’s past the point of caring. Zatanna’s response is to pull a bouquet of lilies from behind her back.
——
Phantom’s face is so young, and it’s even younger when he smiles.
“Not always,” Zatanna replies, rolling her eyes. But when she settles the flowers down, they’re gently placed.
“Can you magic clovers around it?” Phantom asks, that note of painful hope cracking her own heart. She wonders how old he was when he died.
“Of course.”
A field of clovers surrounds the rock tower, and Zatanna adds four layers of heavy wards around the area when she grows them. Phantom notices, and looks up at her with… trust.
“I am Zatanna. Your sister, Jazz, sent me.”
“Okay. You can call me Phantom.”
——
“I want their heads.” Danny says.
“We don’t kill.”
“Then hand them over to us, for they have hurt the Great One. They will answer for their crimes.” Frostbite settles a hand on Danny’s shoulder.
“Alright.”
“Constantine.”
Constantine somehow manages to drag Batman away to hiss in his ears.
“Shit in a hole, Batsy, I’m not fucking with the Infinite Realms. My demons won’t fuck with the Infinite Realms. Destroying a ghost’s grave is an act of war, and an act of complete violation, and we’re lucky Phantom liked Zee enough not to completely bring ruin to our universe. So shut up, and get the bastards that did this.”
“Hm.”
——
Zatanna sits in the visitors chair, Batman’s and Constantine’s disgruntled selves standing behind her.
“How old are you, Phantom?”
“Hm?” The future King looks exhausted, understandably. “Oh, sixteen.”
“You’re… sixteen? That’s how old you look, right?”
She’s hoping that he’s older, that he’s a millennia and a half years old. Because if he wasn’t, whoever broke Phantom’s grave, broke the grave of a child.
“No, I’m sixteen. My body looks fourteen. I died when I was fourteen.”
Constantine swears.
Batman straightens and walks out, fists clenched.
Zatanna eases the hum of hunting magic at her finger tips and smiles at Phantom until he sleeps.
Then, she gets up, and hunts.

DP x DC An idea that's probably been done before but... here it is again.
~~
It was not an ideal setting for this. Out in the open, debris being their only cover. An unnatural storm closing in. The area had been evacuated but there was still no telling how many civilian eyes could be on them at this very moment.
The League was scattered, making this current group a touch at odds while away from the majority of their normal teams.
Batman stood with Red Robin, Flash, Superboy, and Raven. It wasn’t a bad lineup, but things were getting dicy.
A monster had appeared, a creature foreign to most of them. With it came storms of all kinds, winds, hail, rain. It was a mess but there was nothing natural about it. The hail shattered the pavement. The winds were picking buildings up off their foundations. The blue lightning went without saying. The ice was changing the terrain. The temperature changes were disorienting to most of the heroes.
Worse was the fact that this creature seemed to be able to duplicate itself, spreading the chaos out to a much wider area. They were having trouble even touching the thing let alone capturing it.
“Are you sure about this?” Batman asked, a deep frown etched into his face as he watched Raven mark out a summoning circle.
“It’s the only idea i have.” She said bluntly, shivering from the sudden chill. “That thing is not of this realm. We need something else not of this realm to subdue it.”
“I hear what you’re saying but summoning a demon to deal with a demon still leaves us with a demon.” Flash said, seeing the flaw in this plan.
“Unless you know this one personally or something.” Red Robin offered, his voice exhausted.
“It’s not a demon.” Raven said, tone irritated but it wasn’t like any of them were having a good day. “Depending on how you want to look at it, it’s far worse than a demon. That thing came from the Infinite Realm.”
Superboy just grunted once, watching her put the finishing touches on her spell circle. “You said that in a tone that said it was in capital letters. What’s the Infinite Realm?”
“Bad news and something we shouldn’t freaking touch.” Raven answered swiftly. She stood, eyes going over her work.
“Then what the hell are we doing?” Flash asked quickly, all of them tensed as the wind started to pick up again. If a hurricane was thrown at them, there was little they’d be able to do about it.
“Raven.” Batman’s voice was serious. “You’re sure?”
“It’s all i’ve got.” She repeated. “This is not a problem this realm was meant to handle on short notice. We need help.”
There were several things in that one statement he didn’t like. “Who are you summoning?”
Raven was looking rather pale herself. “The Ghost King. The King of the Infinite Realm. I’ve heard word that he can be bargained with so… we’re gonna give it a shot.”
She didn’t wait for permission from anyone else to throw in their two cents on the matter. She threw her hands out, alien words no one else understood on her lips. The chant repeated and the summoning circle began to glow a green that the present Bats didn’t care for.
It crept up the walls of the summoning circle in oddly pretty patterns before a gaping void opened on the ground. Silently, a figure rose into the circle from that same void. The king was smaller than they’d been imagining the last minute or two. He was human shaped and sized, a black crown floating several inches over his head. He was a wispy figure, face hidden by a large hood but there were strands of white hair floating around their shadowed face. He’d had nothing but a smoky looking tail when he’d first appeared but that had now split into solid looking legs.
Given his size, he seems like a young adult, but it was hard to say for certain without seeing his face.
“Woah.” Red Robin muttered, Superboy agreeing with the sentiment.
“Heroes?” The Ghost King wondered, voice soft and lethargic. “Interesting.”
Raven bowed her head in a show of respect. “Your Majesty. I apologize for the abrupt summons. We have a dire situation and are willing to make a deal for your help.”
“A deal…” His voice echoed gently. He spoke as if raising his voice would shatter the very air around them. “That’s not something to choose lightly. What do you want from me?”
Raven swallowed, her body rigid with nerves. She was almost relieved when Batman took over.
“As i understand it, we have a being from your realm here in ours. We are underprepared to deal with such destruction and-”
“Of my realm?” The King interrupted softly, head tipped a little as his attention turned to Batman. “Who?”
Flash laughed nervously. “We’re not on a first name basis or anything but the guy seems to control the weather.” He pointed up and the sky above them was darkening the longer they spoke.
The King made a noise like he’d clucked his tongue and it struck all of them as a very human kind of gesture despite his title.
“I can handle that. Your deal?”
Raven inhaled again, this obviously being the part she was dreading. “Blood, i have the blood of the Demon Lord Trigon-”
“Pass.”
That drew everyone up short. The others didn’t exactly understand the significance of Raven offering her blood but it clearly wasn’t something she’d expected to be declined so quickly.
“My soul then….” Raven muttered.
“Raven, no!” Superboy hissed. “The fuck!”
Batman was also eyeing her unhappily. “Absolutely not. You are not Constantine.”
Fortunately for the heroes, each of which was ready to revolt for such a barter, the Ghost King waved the thought away.
“Nah.” He tugged on his hood a little and Batman realized he was likely brushing away one of those white strands of hair from his face. “That’s the thing about being the King of the Infinite Realm. Souls come to me one way or another in time. No need to preorder them.”
Raven’s shoulders sagged, eyes shifting as she rapidly tried to think of something else she could offer.
“What do you want?” Red Robin asked before anyone else could say something stupid. “You’re the one that’s going to fight this threat for us. What’s a good deal?”
The King turned to him and stared. They could only assume he was contemplating his answer when he hummed quietly. “Food.”
“Wha…” Flash muttered.
The Ghost King just nodded. “Food from your realm. It’s been…a long time since i’ve eaten.”
“Really? Like we could go grab you a burger and that would be cool?” Superboy asked, a touch suspicious, but the King just nodded.
“Deal.” Raven said before anyone would make it worse. “A meal for returning this threat back to your realm.”
The King nodded again, and each of them backed up several paces when the walls to the summoning circle broke apart and the King stepped out. For the briefest of moments he seemed to nearly stumble under the gravity of actually ‘walking’ but he got over it quickly enough.
“Can we offer you any assistance?” Batman asked.
The King shook his head. “No.” He wandered off towards the storm, the floating crown on top of his head seeming a little larger. He moved confidently and with purpose. “Oh Vortex…” He called, walking into the winds.
He sounded young, but all of them agreed immediately that they never wanted to hear him beckoning them the same way. His tone was dangerous, and he walked right through a car that had been flung in his direction.
“Cool.” Red Robin muttered.
“Simmer down, Red.” Superboy muttered. All of them wanted to follow, but with the unstable weather and a literal Ghost King wandering about, staying out of the way felt like the best option. Of course that didn’t mean they weren’t dying of curiosity.
Flash moved to stand beside Raven, making sure she wasn’t about to topple over because of the power it must have taken to summon a king from another dimension. “You good?”
“Yeah.” she breathed out a sigh. “Honestly, this was an unforeseen best case scenario. You should really go get that food for him.”
Batman moved to her otherside, hearing the voices over comms noticing a shift in what was happening. “You think it will be over that fast?”
“Yes.”
“Well-” Flash looked up at the sky that was rapidly clearing. “Yep. I’ll be right back.” He was gone in a blur but it was hard to believe a change was happening so quickly.
“Has it even been a full minute?” Superboy asked. “I mean, damn…”
“Someone better have been recording visuals.” Red Robin muttered. “We are absolutely missing something amazing.”
“He’s the King of the infinite Realm.” Raven said. “It’s the realm that connects every other realm and it is as the name implies… infinite. He rules it. I don’t even think Trigon would dare mess with him.”
Batman had his arms crossed, still listening to the amazed chatter over comms. “Should it be suspicious that all he wants is food?”
“He made the deal.” Raven shrugged. “He could have asked for anything. Literally.” She stopped speaking when the hooded king returned. He was floating this time though only a foot or two off the ground. He didn’t look tired or dirty or anything.
Just the same ethereal otherness he’d arrived with. “Done.” He announced.
“What uh- happened to the guy?” Superboy asked, pointing vaguely at where the storm had been raging.
The Ghost King just dug into his cape and pulled out…a thermos. “Souped him. He’s gonna have a little time out.”
“Oh my god, i have so many questions.” Red Robin whispered.
The thermos was put away and Batman was suppressing his own urge to ask a dozen questions over what just occurred. They’d been struggling with the Infinite creature for hours and countless lives had no doubt been altered. Clean up would take weeks if not months and this Ghost King handled it in minutes.
“My food?”
“On the way.” Raven said immediately. “Flash is one of the fastest men on the planet. He’ll be right back.”
The King nodded and looked around before moving to a pile of bricks that had once been a fence. He sat down and waited, somehow looking regal among the wreckage.
“So… I’m Red Robin.” Batman looked up again when his son was sliding closer to introduce himself. “Superboy, Raven, Batman.” He gestured and the King’s hood shifted as he followed Red Robin’s introduction of them. “Is there something we can call you or is your Majesty the most appropriate?”
The Ghost King sat in silence for a moment before reaching up to lower his hood. The shadows that had hidden his face disappeared revealing a young man only a little older than Tim. Maybe around Jason’s age. His hair was indeed white, and was braided down the nape of his neck save for the tufts of hair that floated around his face.
His skin was pale, and Batman thought it might have been gray or even blue in different light. His ears were pointed and his eyes were a haunting green.
With the hood out of the way, the crown lowered to sit on his head.
“Phantom.” He finally answered. “You can call me Phantom.”
Raven bowed her head again and Red Robin beamed. “Thank you for helping us! We literally couldn’t have done it without you.”
Phantom nodded again but without his hood to shield him there was something shy about the action.
The Flash reappeared in a cloud of dust, two bags of fast food in one hand and a collection of drinks under the other arm. “I got a little of everything!” He announced. “Got some burgers and some chicken nuggets and fries and onion rings. There’s one of those little apple pies in here somewhere too.
Phantom took the bags with a small smile and set them beside him so he could go through them. Superboy helped with the drinks, setting everything down so Phantom could have his pick. There were three different sodas, a lemonade, and a water.
It wasn’t fancy and probably wasn’t a fair trade of a meal for his services but he didn’t seem disappointed.
In a flash of rings made of light, Phantom transformed. The otherness of him was still there, but instead of a noble king of a realm, a young…very living human was in his place. Black hair instead of white was still braided down his neck and the strands around his face hung limp instead of floating.
Those eerie green eyes were now blue but that– oddly enough– was not the most startling thing about his transformation. He wore a large hoodie and jeans but his feet were bare.
His hands and feet were almost skeletal, and his face was gaunt and starved looking. His eyes were slightly sunken and his skin was a sickly kind of pale.
He looked emaciated, but there was the smallest of smiles on his face when he ate one fry and then another. He took a sip from every drink offered to him and then took a bite out of the burger.
They couldn’t help but stand there and watch, all of them transfixed over what they were seeing.
Phantom took two more bites before wrapping up the rest of his burger and placing it back in the bag.
“Not to your liking?” Flash asked, voice small.
Phantom licked his fingers and shook his head. “No, it was good. I’m just full. I’ll take it with me and eat it later when i’m hungry again.”
Batman could only imagine the size of his stomach. Stopping now was probably the healthiest thing he could have done if he wanted to keep the food down. He cleared his throat. “Are you alright?”
“Mhmm.” Phantom nodded, the rings of light appearing again. He was back in his healthier looking ghostly form. That was an oxymoron, wasn’t it? A healthy ghost form…
“You’re still alive.” Raven whispered, stuck in her shock. “The living shouldn’t… The Infinite Realm isn’t…”
Phantom’s lips tipped up in a smile. “You’re right, but wrong. I’m both. I’m dead. I’m alive. I’m balance.” He paused for a moment. “I haven’t been in a living realm for a while… guess i’ve been neglecting that side of me. Thanks for the food, it was a good deal.”
He was gathering up the bags he clearly planned to take with him.
“You should come back.” Red Robin spat the words out, likely before giving them any real thought. “I’ll take you to lunch. I’ll take you like… all the time. I am not going to pretend to know what you have going on but… shit, Agent A would disown me if i did not offer to feed you.”
Phantom looked cold briefly. “Agent… A…?”
Red Robin winced, “Code name for my grandfather. He’s an amazing cook.”
“Red Robin.” Batman scowled at him.
“Oh, what? He’s gonna give you the look for you not being the one to offer.” Red Robin said unapologetically, but the explanation had Phantom softening again. “What do you say? Lunch? Do i have to summon you?”
“Jesus, Red. Let him actually decline or accept.” Superboy was snickering.
Phantom looked between them, the confusion on his face clearing up after a beat. A piece of paper appeared between his fingers. It had some kind of squiggle on it none of them could read at a glance. He handed it over to Red Robin.
“Have that on you, say my name. I’ll find you.” Phantom said. “I should…eat again.”
“We…appreciate you helping us.” Raven added quickly, determined that they make a good impression.
Phantom’s look grew warmer again. “It was fun.” With his bags and drinks in his arms, he wandered back over to the summoning circle. “I don’t mind helping when the trouble is severe and you were right. This particular problem was mine to clean up. Sorry about him, by the way. Vortex is an asshole.”
Superboy and Flash both snorted. “Thanks anyway.”
Phantom nodded at them again, floating in the middle of the circle before his eyes glowed that bright, toxic green again. He slipped inside the void and disappeared as quickly as he arrived, the remains of the summoning circle erasing itself.
“So… That happened.” Flash muttered, not sure how they were gonna put this in a report to the rest of the League members. Batman wasn’t so sure either.
“I can’t believe you were just hitting on the Ghost King, Red.” Superboy laughed. “I mean… Lunches?”
“What?”
Raven was on her phone. “I am already telling Nightwing.”
“What!? Hey!” Red Robin was looking between them. “I wasn’t hitting on him. You leave Wing out of this!”
“No way.”
“You asked him on a date, man!” Superboy grinned. “All the titans are going to know about this in the next hour.”
“You guys suck!” Red Robin growled, his face a flame.
Batman just sighed. “There’s clean up to do. Get to work.”
He definitely did not need to think about his son’s audacity, coming onto a King of an entire realm. Where did he even learn that kind of behavior?

The Dance Academy isn't a gang- DC X DP Prompt
Inspired by this prompt
Clockwork suggests to Danny, who's been the king of the infinite realms for 6 years now, that he should take sometime off in a mortal realm. He doesn't feel like going back to his own dimension (you choose the reason), so Clockwork suggest another dimension where he thinks Danny might have fun.
Danny investigates the dimension, and finds it is a dimension where some humans, who are called meta-humans, develop powers, mostly during their childhood. Danny knows how tiring and alienating it is to grow with powers that one have to hide. He wishes to give this kids a safe space to experiment with their powers, but not as a weapon, just as part of themself.
He chooses to create a dance academy, because dancing is something in which you use your body and express yourself. It would be an excellent way to encourage this kids to use their powers while enjoying themself. He decides to open the dance academy in Gotham, were it seems metas may feel more pressure to keep themself hidden. With his ability to see and feel the differences in soul it's easy to identify metas, so he starts scouting kids for the academy.
Of course convincing the kids that it's just a a dance academy that wants to create a save space for metas, instead is of a trafficking ring, is difficult. But once he gets the first couple kids in, slowly more come too.
-.-.-.-.-.-.-
Bruce is worried about the new possible meta gang that it's forming on Gotham, and sends Duke undercover.
It's hasn't been long since Duke joined the bats, and this is his first official undercover mission. He's excited at the start, feeling proud that he's been trusted with an independent job, but then he finds out that the "gang" it's just a dance academy. He's a little disappointed, thinking that this job is more of a probation thing than anything, since there isn't anything suspicious.
The bats tell him to stay in the dance academy, because maybe the dance thing is just a cover up and they'll reveal their real motives when he's actually accepted in the group. And Duke takes it as them wanting him to have a meta support system. See? He's learning to understand how the bats show love to each other!
Duke finds himself enjoying being in a dance group. It's a lot of fun. Danny it's fantastic, he has a lot of powers and isn't scare to show them. Which makes everyone in the group feel so much safer to use their own.
Danny encourages them to integrate their powers in their dance. It's freeing. Their powers are treated as a normal part of them, and not as this exotic ability that has to be controlled. It's such a safe space that all of them have gotten used to using their powers for day to day stuff when in the dance studio. It all feels so casual because no one bats an eye to it. There's no talk about how they should try to do things "normally," or limit their use of their power.
Danny: "Why would you? That's your normal, and this place is safe for you to just be you."
Duke realizes a bit late that the bats were actually suspicious of the group, and that his placement there wasn't really a probation. He's glad to know he was actually trusted with a job, but, he had really thought that every time they had asked about his day with the group was because they were interested in how he was doing. That they were showing love and interest in him in that evasive ways the bats did, and it kinda suck to know it wasn't the case. It also meant that he had to confront their family in their clear meta-discrimination.
"Would you have been so suspicious if it wasn't a meta group? No. Other than them all being metas there wasn't anything off. No proof of fights, no proof of robberies, no proof of trafficking, nothing.
There's no proof of anything other than a group of teens dancing, and you know that because you checked it out before sending me.
Like, I don't blame you for checking it, I'm not naive, but you were so sure it was a gang, just because they were metas. That's fucked up guys."

DPxDC Prompt
I've had this idea for a while (since seeing that art of Johnny and Kitty robbing a bank so Danny can get Top Surgery lol) but I haven't even had the brain to work on my own fic recently (sorry about that btw) so I'm writing this instead
So the concept:
T4T Johnny and Kitty, who died in the 80s after running away together.
Johnny was the kid of some rich asshole automobile mogul from Bristol, and Kitty was one of the workers' kids from the Narrows. They become friends, fall in love, both realize they're trans around the same time and then decide to run. They know that being trans on top of tax bracket difference gives them almost no chance of making it. Johnny steals a bike and a fuck-ton of money from his parents, and Kitty's parent(s) helps them leave.
They're still toxic and spiteful as hell, but nothing the other does can change the fact that they know and understand each other better than anyone else could.
They travel around the country being menaces together for a while until they decide to settle down in a strange city called Amity Park. They figured it could handle a couple more anomalies. But before they can get there, they get into a bike wreck with their final thoughts being of each other and Johnny specifically cursing his bad luck in life.
The next thing they know, they're in the infinite realms being given the chance to stay together and the freedom to simply exist with no strings attached. (Other than each other cause I firmly believe that they're mutually the others' obsession)
About 20 years have passed, a portal to their old world is permanently open and this scrawny little ass kid ghost that they've never even heard of keeps stopping them from going through it.
It isn't until Johnny actually starts paying attention a few months into it that he notices that first, the little shit can actually fight, and second, HE WAS FIGHTING THEM WITH A BINDER ON. (Johnny also vaguely wonders why Danny looks so much like his old neighbor Brucie, but that's less important than the binder thing). Johnny lets out the universal ghost fight timeout signal and vaguely explains the situation to Danny, who seems confused about the noise he made and why it made him stop.
Johnny gets Kitty to spread the word that if the timeout isn't called off by the next morning, stay TF away until they get an all-clear.
That night, *after yelling at him a bit*, he starts teaching Danny how to reshape his ghost form to his preference and even his vocal cords.
From there, Johnny and Kitty sorta ghost adopt him as a sibling and then take him to Frostbite to make sure his T-shots are ecto compatible.
(I hope this was coherent it's 4am for me and I haven't slept lol)
