Investors seems like the right word to use tbh. Like that other ask said, even if u do the most lowballed math possible Thomas is being paid at least $30,000 every month by his patrons. Thats more than a lot of people are able to earn in a year but also means he makes over $350,000 a year at the absolute *minimum* just from Patreon. Six figures a year from his Patrons plus merch + sponsor + Youtube money should be more than enough for Thomas to pay his team or hire new writers or sit down and do the work his self but he's had 4 years and multiple millions of dollars of his fans money to work on his show atp and just... hasn't done it.

Sorry to that anon who was upset before but unless u think him abandoning all his series's and employees is worth that half mil paycheck, "single well meaning guy who can't delegate" is giving Thomas way too much credit imho🤷‍♀️

Another proof Mr. Sanders isn't able to properly manage the money people are giving him. I've seen people with way WAY less money making better business decisions - from hiring staff members to simply buying better microphones. And they all have clear, honest communication with their public, even if they have to cancel or postpone some videos - especially if they have to.

I understand being prideful and wanting to perfectly meet other people's expectations. But lying and keeping everything hidden only worsen the situation. And when people will inevitably find out the truth, your image will end up a lot more damaged.

I don't know how long Thomas thinks can lie, omit and postpone and have people coddling him. And I don't know what he will do when, in the future, he will inevitably find himself without any more adoring fans.

Random question, not sure if you would know the answer but if Williams replaces or let's Logan go will the American sponsors stay? Im not aure which are team vs personal sponsors but Duracell is Logans #1 fan. I heard Logans sponsors bring in an additional $30 Million to Williams

I'm not sure but I think its kind of debatable.

Like, Logan brought these sponsors in but they very well could stay once he's gone just because they're part of the brand now. I do think Duracell might follow him and at least keep supporting him wherever he goes even if they continue to sponsor Williams.

Its probably another reason that they kept Logan is just so they could build stronger bonds with these sponsors before cutting him 🤷‍♀️

I hope duracell stays with him because they do like him a lot and its nice to see that kind of support that Williams doesn't show

What if he becomes financially depended on her? The Hermes trip was sponsored but not payed. He hasn’t been in a paying project for as much as I know. With Nattegavten (or however you write it) he was paid prior. It almost seems he’s trying to put his remaining “fame” to her because she gets more jobs.

He went to pilot season in LA and got almost 0 to none call backs. A friend of mine saw him in at an audition. In the past he has mentioned to be picky with his projects in Denmark which is in my opinion a very dumb move. We all blame Johanne in this matter but what if he tries to secure his “stay at home bf” and is living of off her? She has at least 3 paying musicals she’s in?? And the movie she had a feature on…

Thank you for your input, anon! 😊 You’ve got some food for thought there! I was going to say that maybe he still has some decent revenue from Oliver Green, but I also don’t know how they’re doing financially… they’re still selling their watches, but haven’t released any new models… and to be honest, they could only profit from Alex’s fans for so long. Oliver Green was so similar to About Vintage, both in models and price range, it felt kind of unnecessary in the first place, in my opinion. 😕

I also agree that Alex being picky about which projects in Denmark he’d accept didn’t really play in his favour… I understand that it might be hard for someone who worked on a show as great as Vikings (both in terms of production and international fame) to go home and only be offered small parts, but with those would have come more experience and exposure, and in his industry it’s very important to stay relevant, to be seen. Maybe more auditions and better projects would have been offered to him in the future, who knows? 🤷‍♀️

Okay so I FINALLY feel like I'm settling in after move-in day and having syllabus week, I have a little free time to update you guys on stuff!!

The first few days leading up to orientation were crazy, sure, but like you wouldnt believe wtf happened DURING orientation. First off, I hit up the ppl i met at the cafe so we could go together (willow also dragged her roomie along and she totally promised she was cool but she was sooooo lame lmao), but we ended up being the last to arrive somehow. Turns out orientation here is, like, a small group activity and not some big boring thing in an auditorium so i ended up working on this weird group scavanger hunt in the library with the same ppl. idk, the statues in the room with the glowing pool of magic light ("the snarl"???) told us something about working together and being graded on teamwork. Since when is orientation fucking graded anyways???

We split up even more into two groups since we were running late so we could tackle different clues at the same time. I managed to pawn stick-in-the-mud and frat boy off on each other (with mettie as necessary collateral damage but whatevs im sure he didnt mind). I'm just happy i got to be with willow who so far seems like the most normal person i've met since the cafe. I guess that nora girl and that cute owl boy i met today were pretty normal too. Wait wait wait did i even tell you guys about my roommate? He was, like, dumpster-diving on day 1 so i did NOT get the best first impression on the weirdo, but at least he's letting me use his closet since he only owns like 3 shirts and 2 pants.

Anyways back to the scavenger hunt! It was kinda cute but also super lame in that way school-sponsored events always are. Muk had another terrible time in the cafe (but got a, like, bag of holding out of it- which i am SO jealous of tbh!!), i befriended a bush (no not like that, it was, like, an actual sentient bush) that gave me a cute morphing plushie, and then willow got a lantern for getting on stage! From what i gathered, mettie and the others spent most of their time playing with the magic light pool in the first room? It made them trip balls or smthn. idc what mettie says- i dont think microdosing on distilled wild magic is gonna make thad a cooler person.

I think they did get some health potions from it tho, and then they found some kitschy little school pennants from their other clue. Okay that was all normal stuff but HERE is where it got CRAZY! We were just about to regroup and finish our scavenger hunt, when out of NOWHERE this chest came to life as a mimic and chomped down on this poor little gnome lady! And then a chair started coming to life too! Everyone was panicking and tbh i kinda wanted to gtfo too but idk, my group just, like...rushed in to help her so what was i gonna do? Make myself look bad by leaving them all behind in public? Not on my first day lol

tbh i might as well have just run away though, bc finance bro immediately drops a sleep spell and ofc me, mettie, and the gnome (CURRENTLY BEING DIGESTED) passed out and the two mimics were, like, totally fine.

idk what happened while i was sleeping, but once i woke up muk was totally passed out and bleeding everywhere, but at least they managed to get the other student out of the mimic's mouth before that. Anyways i sawed that motherfucker in half and then sawed the legs off the other stupid chair-mimic. I mean, dont get me wrong, it was def a group effort to take them down for sure. Aside from the sleep spell i think we have a kinda rhythm going together, considering that was our third fight before classes had even started 🙄 🙄 🙄

And then finally a professor showed up to help! She apologized and told us these things just kinda happen sometimes because of the snarl thing in the library, like it causes wild magic surges and stuff. She took the gnome lady to the infirmary and gave us all a platinum piece for our troubles (she said it wasn't a bribe, but ngl its working on me anyways).

After all that, our first week went pretty smoothly- we're all gonna meet up to go to the career/club fair at the end of the week! It sounds like most of us do not wanna keep being baristas after what happened lol We also went for boba and a lil mall trip this week, since muk hadn't ever done either of those things before (they were homeschooled!) and i am always up for getting myself a little treat. Even better when someone else gets the little treat for me! I can't believe mettie got my boba order right on the first try. Like...oh, whatever. Obligatory context that both Elementary and House are shows featuring a/the Holmes character managing an addiction. In both shows this character is rude, petulant, manipulative, childish, and generally a pain in the ass, BUT are the best of the best in their field and therefore still hired.

The nature of their addictions is fundamentally different. House survived a debilitating injury which resulted in long-term chronic pain, and his addiction stems more or less from pain management gone awry. Holmes, meanwhile, began a recreational habit which turned into a serious addiction after a bereavement.

Fundamentally they are telling different stories, so I don't consider it a full apples to apples comparison, but just the VIBES in terms of how they address and contemplate addiction, the way that addiction looks as they rotate these characters in the microwave, if you will, is just. Not the same.

In Elementary, addiction is a process. It's a journey. Holmes has a fairly memorable speech about his addiction, describing his addiction as "a leaky faucet that requires constant maintenance, and in return, only promises not to drip." When Holmes and Watson encounter suspects and witnesses dealing with addiction, they sympathize. I remember an episode where a witness could clear a suspect's name, but doesn't want to reveal her history as an addict in recovery during divorce and custody proceedings. They work around it. Holmes goes to meetings and he gets BORED at meetings, but he doesn't punish others with his boredom. He drifts. He comes back. He gets a sponsor. He completes the process. When they are gifted with expensive wine for solving a case, Joan sets it unceremoniously on the bathroom sink before pouring it out. Sherlock often shares his struggles with sobriety with Joan (who, indeed, began as his sober companion) but rarely digs deep with other characters--for him, it's a fairly private struggle and most people are content to accept that.

In Elementary, addiction is as dramatic as it is mundane. For every episode where Sherlock is having A Key Moment in the addiction journey, there is an episode where there is a boring moment in the journey as well. A quiet conversation with Joan, lunch with Alfredo, a sarcastic comment, a meeting. It's sad, it's hard, it's frustrating, it's peaceful, it's mundane, it's joyful, it's confusing, it's overwhelming. There's no one story about addiction, and there's no one day in the life of an addict. I think there's a certain kind of respectful engagement they invite from the audience--this is not every addict's experience, but it's one way to tell a story about addiction. And what might that feel like?

House, on the other hand, is like, "damn, wouldn't it be fucked up if the smartest guy couldn't manage his pain and so made everyone else miserable?" And it creates tension, and it creates drama--and that is the main thing they are mining from it. (Disclaimer: have not see the whole show yet.) Everyone on the show is a doctor, and so everyone on the show is constantly nosing into House's symptoms. Are you hurting? Are you dying? What should we collectively do about House? The entire team has a sort of codependent relationship with the man, constantly falling over themselves to try and figure out how to meet his needs (regardless of whether or not he voices them) so that they can keep using his brain. And in isolation, I find him a fun character, but within the universe, it creates a very small box to play in. Most episodes deal with characters in life-threatening emergencies, so there are very few characters who also have chronic health concerns like House does (House is special). Other characters with disabilities don't ever seem to "earn" a role in the story and are often dismissed outright (House is special). House himself only deigns to acknowledge interesting health cases, and only sometimes the mundanity of his own (House is special). In season three when a cop goes after House, he says that people who cannot be effectively cured and controlled by medical science deserve to be turned over to the State for incarceration, and we as the audience are not entirely meant to disagree with that statement, even though House ultimately gets out of jail time (House is special). House quietly says, yeah, there isn't much to sympathize in addicts, but here is why you should sympathize for in this one for forty-five minutes only.

I think in many ways these are two shows about two guys who are both dicks but manage to put a little love into the world when it counts. And I think House keeps saying, "well here's why you should forgive this man for his addiction." And I think Elementary keeps asking, "what does the pursuit of sobriety look like for this man today?" And here in the real world, knowing that lived experiences are rarely so linear or cinematic, the latter is a really kind question to be asking.

Me: You also didn’t wanna see those Facebook aka Meta aka Instagram ads of what cool things you could buy on Amazon, wish, or any other website with products you want but you’re broke so it’s pissing you off too. You also didn’t want to be interrupted while watching a Snapchat story, you also didn’t want to see the slow down while scrolling on tiktok for 10 minutes straight or hear the tide commercial during your free Pandora/Spotify. Oh wait did you just tap on that click bait right…now you keep getting unwanted pops up saying weird error messages. Matter of fact you also didn’t want to be interrupted while watching your movie and or show but just remembered you gotta go do something. You also didn’t want to see the (dumb commercials during the last years Super Bowl even though your favorite team isn’t playing, or is either winning or losing during or there after the game).

Me: You don’t wanna see blaze post or have ads but this app(offers ad free/blaze free options)….

Them: I don’t have the money to pay for ad free/blaze free.

Me: I figured that much so ask for a Google play or Apple gift card for Christmas cause Lesbihonest even the video games now a days you play online has ads(ads about what you can buy, new upcoming games inside that game with characters and or camos other gear and or season pass, merch, and or awesome perks) there’s even ads on the games you play on your phone and some of these games btw you can win prizes, gift cards, and cash by entering giveaways or earning your way to a cash out. Some you have to be at least 13+ and live in a state or country it’s allowed to play and it’s free. Ads are everywhere guys. And I’m gonna blaze it up, there’s somethings you won’t like so either scroll or pay for ad free/blaze free.

And if you’re mad at tumblr for just now adding a crap ton of ads. Look at it this way it’s nothing personal it’s just business. It’s not my issue truly.🤷‍♀️ There’s a such thing as sponsors, ad revenue, and marketing. If they felt the need to add ads with an option to pay to get rid of ads they’re making some money of course. Yes, now imagine competing with other social media networks on top of that. Now imagine if tumblr stop existing much like the xanga blog site, and soooo many others. Things to think about outside the pesky unwanted ads and blaze thought. Tumblr wants to continue growing like many other social media apps/websites. Yes some changes will suck but learn to embrace the suck once in awhile. Change doesn’t come easy with anything. It’s just modern day social media nothing we as users can do much about really. It is what it is that is our reality.
