hello, i'm the funny yuri guy on tumblr. i'm also disabled and homeless, and while i'm in the lengthy process of getting on disability, i need some help.

Hello there! Sorry for the random ask, but I just read the most recent Scarlet Lady update and have a...few questions. The most recent updates, particularly the newest one, have me frowning a little bit. I really, really don't mean to say this in anything remotely resembling a hurtful manner, but... you do know you're making the exact same mistake as Thomas, right? There was literally no buildup to Emilie's revival. Thomas does this all the time, and it's sad to see it in a salt fic of his show. Since...you know, if we're going to salt on the show (and in a good, mostly enjoyable way as you have), then we might as well try to be better than the thing we're salting?

Nathalie just waking Emilie up happened with 0 preparation. I'm befuddled by the fact that you, just like Thomas, decided to just grab Nathalie and put her in the situation the plot demanded...without paying any attention to her actual character. I'm sorry, but Nathalie just doesn't act like herself here by never bringing this up before. And I obviously understand that nobody can think 20 chapters ahead when writing a story, but there should at least be buildup. I'm truly sad to see it, since salt, by its own stated goal of making fun of Thomas' writing...shouldn't be making the exact same mistakes.

But that's just my opinion. Again, I never meant this in an aggressive way; I'm only saying we all ought to hold ourselves to a higher standard than a man who hasn't taken a writing class in almost three decades now. Thanks for hearing me out, and I wish you the best of luck in continuing Scarlet Lady with future updates.

iirc the showrunners said on twt that they almost immediately regretted taking away peri's lashes/not giving him eyeliner, and if they *do* get renewed one of the first things they want to do is slightly redesign peri to rectify the issue 😭

I remember that tweet as well (pretty sure it was by Lindsay Katai?) — pretty sure the reason given was that there was a concern the eyelashes would clash with the eyebrows (and I do love the eyebrows, for the record — I’ve got thick eyebrows and I therefore have a bit of a bias towards characters that also have eyebrows like me lol). Still, after seeing Irep’s eyeliner, I was a little thrown off — they made it work for him, so I’m a little sad that they didn’t add it to Peri as well. I’m guessing they already had animators working on Peri’s scenes by the time Irep’s design was finalized, though

I was rewatching mouthwashing, and I ended up thinking of the different reactions that Curly and Jimmy had in doing their tasks. How during the scene of Anya evaluating Jimmy and showing dread towards the idea of doing his evaluation, Curly was the one that offered to take it off her hands. He had no issue with adding more to his plate, because he knew - or well, thought, he knew that Jimmy wasn't going to "bullshit" with him since he's known him for a long time. When Anya hands Curly a note from Swansea, Curly goes to check out what the issue is and he takes care of it without a complaint, the only "complaint" he has is how this incident could have damaged the pods. Which is reasonable, those pods are their only way to be saved if anything tragic happens on the ship. However, in comparison to Jimmy being asked to do things, he's passive-aggressive about it. When Anya asks Jimmy if he could help her out with Curly's painkillers, he tells her that people should be worth their titles, specifically using her title as a nurse when she asked him for help and then when she says forget it, since he made her feel insecure, he still goes "Oh no, I'LL take care of it" as if he was doing a chore, a favor for her. Then, there's that part where he blows up at her for things that she didn't even ask him to do - more so the others asked him about it, like the code scanner, him deciding he needed to find the axe for the foam, and then, there's the medicine part (which when she does ask, and she reconsiders - going to do it herself, he takes that away from her). Jimmy complains about the tasks he has to do and he treats it like a big issue, a "woes me" that he has to do this and that - wanting the praise of the capital without actually doing any work. While Curly doesn't complain about it, in fact, he even mentions that he's aware of how well he is doing at his job as a Captain during that cockpit scene with him and Jimmy. If Jimmy only had to do a small amount of tasks to get irritated and annoyed at being captain, while Curly didn't which I feel like encapsulates their personalities. Curly understands what he's doing is a job, it's a responsibility, why would he complain at any point for doing what he's suppose too? Why would he be upset at people asking him to do tasks? While Jimmy on the other hand, isn't used to it at all and it's different to what he's had before and he's realizing that he doesn't actually like doing the work he has too. I just wanted to ramble about it even if it seemed kind of obvious xd

It’s obvious but it is a thing people miss or understate when trying to find parallels in Curly’s and Jimmy’s relationship/personalities.

Like the way people portray it as neither taking responsibility when it is almost split down the middle of Curly taking responsibilities and faults that shouldn’t be his and making himself unequipped to handle the ones that are while Jimmy refuses to handle the responsibilities he has because he wasn���t expecting the work that comes with them.

Not a lot to say but people forget that another thing the game comments on is prioritization of issues and responsibilities and how the guys fail at it in one way or another in the situation.

I might be poking at a bear here but I kinda really dislike the "all or nothing" attitude the WoF fandom has. This character is evil the worst piece of garbage imaginable or is secretly a great character and you're just a fool for thinking otherwise. It's ridiculous at times

Like I recall the stuff with Secretkeeper a while back. Now, call me crazy, but I don't think she's some horrifically abusive and neglectful parent. She did the best that she could. Was it great? No, but she was trying to keep her daughter safe in a hostile world that she was terrified would reject or, worse, hunt her. Her leaving Moon alone for days was bad, yes, but she wanted to keep Moon free from the horrors of the volcano. She loved Moon and clearly took care of her a lot. You can't just look at a character and paint them as being a "horrible abusive POS" for something that, let's be real here, is much more forgivable and understandable than anything Coral, Scarlet, Diamond, Cobra, Jerboa, or Kestrel did

this mostly has to do with the rise of rude anons, and is directed to the people who have dealt with these anons before

lately ive seen that there are many rude anons going about tumblr: and im sorry to the people who had to go through that 💔 just know that no matter what they say, it doesn't dictate what kind of person you are or your work AT ALL

i try to think of it like this: you can't please everyone, because people have different tastes ! just because one person doesnt like your work doesnt mean that your work is bad. the kind of words they say can be discouraging and i understand, but try not to think about what they say too much

when they say these kinds of things, most of the time they're mainly looking for a reaction out of you. do NOT let the opps win!! 🗣️🗣️🗣️ try not to give them too much attention,,, in the end of the day, they're just people who have nothing better to do that don't deserve for you to waste your breath on them

a few suggestions i have are to not reply to the rude asks and also to turn off anon asks if the hate gets too much !! they most likely won't come back if they can only ask with their account name
