the thing i kind of love about lena's whole "wdym the horrors are after you lol that's normal. that's supposed to happen actually" approach is that at first it's funny, but when you think about it a little more it's. incredibly tragic and indicative of a decade's worth of repressed trauma, and that desensitization of that level is not something the human mind does unless it absolutely has to for the sake of its own survival.

but then you stop thinking about all that and it goes back to being funny again.

Maybe a hot take, but I kind of really hope tmagp is not actually super connected to the tma universe. Like I like the cameos and such, but I'd really love it if somehow they managed to create an even more tragic +terrifying universe for us to enjoy. I'd love if the institute and its mysteries are actually different from the one in tma. I really like the characters and the themes, and sometimes I get a little annoyed at people who just try to connect every small thing to tma.

I think ink5oul specifically likes to turn people’s desires against them (Madam E wanted to be famous, so she started getting physically hurt by all the negative comments, the first ink5oul casement wanted to change her physical appearance so ink5oul made it happen through her art and had the tattoo start to consume her)

Take on the “benevolent forces” mentioned in Ep 13

I think they’re inextricably linked to Jon and Martin’s actions at the end of archives. Old-universe Gerry was *convinced* there are no non-fear entities and I don’t think the answer is simply “oh he was wrong.” I think the old universe really did just have the listed fear gods and nothing else. The new universe however, has benevolent forces because of Jon and Martin’s intervention to reverse the watcher’s crown.

I’m not suggesting every instance of the “benevolent forces” is directly controlled by them - I do think that they are mostly powerless as Chester and Norris. But that doesn’t mean they didn’t cause it inadvertently.

It’s giving real Pandora’s box vibes, Chester and Norris being the “hope” at the bottom of the OIAR’s “box” of evil.

As a side note, just as the entities of the old universe could blend together, I think the good and evil forces in this universe can blend or at least “corrupt”. This is why we get so many statements about people enjoying their contact with the supernatural, even if it seems fucked up to everyone else. As I suspected, the theories about “desire” being this universes new set of entities may not have been entirely wrong, just a much smaller piece of the puzzle than we first thought.

I apologize in advance because I just finished the episode and am going to be more ramble-y than usual.

Mr. Bonzo, avatar of the slaughter, or maybe the flesh or web? His relationships to the OIAR and Lena seems to be similar to Daisy and Elias's relationship in S3, Elias and Lena handing out the orders and Daisy/Mr. Bonzo offing whomever they request. The main difference is Gwen, who reminded me so much of Jon's "You don't sound Russian?" when she asked "Can he read?"

The tape recorder, I missed that [click]. But since the tape recorder was active and recording, does that mean the Web or Annabelle Cane is active or at least alive in this universe, since they were the ones to plant the tapes in the Institute and make them follow John around?

Also, who is [Error]? My first thought was Jonah, probably as RedCanary, but maybe as someone else, like Elias. Maybe it could be Eye-pocalypse Jon, when he is taken over by the Eye? Or with the mentions of worms, maybe Prentiss? Possibly Leitner, too, or Klaus (who Lena was supposed to off)?
