to preface: this is a 100% genuine request for an answer if u have it, if u feel comfortable doing so, send it however u wish, an anon ask, a dm, if u have any of my more personal details there is good too. i promise i will not argue w u, ill probs just say ty and nothing more. u do not have to have an extended conversation about this w me unless u really want to, but i will function under the assumption unless told otherwise that u do not. if u send an anon, unless u say u want me to, i will not publish it. i am really really asking for Anyone at all to give me any kind of indication as to what is going on and i am v happy and willing to hear whatever comes of this. shld u feel comfortable telling me, do not feel the need to spare my feelings.
with that out the way. what am i doing wrong? i am famously a pushover, a doormat, whatever u want to call it. i dont *typically* say anything if ppl treat me badly or in ways i dont like. this is in part bc i function under a sort of "peoples lives often suck in ways i dont have the full scope or understanding of, and when i do, i am then acutely aware how much it sucks and feel that grace and understading shld be given to ppl in situations where they treat me badly" as well as i dont rlly like or respect myself so im not rlly gna disagree if someone else feels the same. but in terms of the first bit, i am not saying i am perfect or have never been rash in my response to someone, or unreasonable, or unforgiving. i obviously have. i am not infallible. but i hope, i want to think, that for the most part at least, i do afford people this grace and understanding when they are shitty to me. that being said, i do not feel people, generally speaking (obviously this is not universally true), have had this same grace and understanding for me when i act in ways which are disrespectful, mean, etc. bc again, i obviously do and have acted in such ways. i obviously have do and will in the future hurt ppl both unintentionally and even intentionally at times. i am a person. etc. but, even when ppl have the knowledge that i am honestly pretty traumatised in ways i have never addressed or dealt with, autistic, etc. it doesnt matter? i am not worth the time or effort or whatever it is to give me the benefit of the doubt. to just tell me, hey u did a shitty thing to me and i dont want u to do it again. obviously, there are going to be circumstances where i have crossed a line that i shld have been cognisant of, or that is too far for the other person. im not expecting this to be like, a universal and total understanding. however, even accounting for the fact that i am going to at least sometimes cross the line in irreperable ways, i really really feel that ppl are extremely resistant to acknowledging that i am often acting out of a place of trauma or simply not understanding and very very rarely am i doing hurtful things out of malice.
the number of ppl who are and have been in my life from whom i put up w so much from, bc i *knew* that they were hurting and traumatised and probably just didnt realise the extent to which they were upsetting me, is really in the majority by now. and for those ppl who r no longer in my life, often the case was that something that they did happened to be tied to some aspect of my trauma and i acted out of order, and they decided i was not worth the effort/time/patience/etc to continue associating with me. that despite the fact that i had frequently let them slide on things which were extremely hurtful and impactful to me on numerous occassions, having often not that often expressed a negative reaction to my past behaviour and actions, just cut me off.
this isnt even just in cases of ppl who no longer wish to associate with me (which is obviously well within their rights, this post isnt to be like oh woe is me, ppl should just hang out w me even when i upset them and hurt them w no consequence, but rather a genuine question as to why when i afford others grace and understanding others dont seem to do so for me), frequently just expressing that i have been hurt by someones actions in a fairly calm manner most of the time i think (though again, not always), i am often reacted to with being ignored, ppl distancing themselves from me without explanation/clarification that they are upset w me, as well as outright aggression.
as i said, this is very genuine. i do not understand what i am doing wrong. i am obviously the problem as i am the common denominator. i am not trying to skirt responsibility in any way for my actions. i just would really Really like to understand why i allow other ppl to act traumatised, scared, disproportionately, rudely, whatever and ppl do not do this for me? or at least it feels that way. i am not trying to skirt responsibility for my actions. i genuinely really just do not understand what is going on. i do not want to keep ending up in situations where ppl decide they no longer want to associate with me or distance themselves from me for reasons i dont understand.
without devolving into a pity party, i basically no longer talk to anyone other than with ppl i am in some way helping or doing things for. i consistently talk to i think about 2 ppl and one of them is my gf and she lives w me. i dont like living like this and i dont want to continue living like this. its fucking miserable. and obviously, given the problem likely *is* with me, i need to change my behaviour or outlook in some way.
just as a final like, pls dont think im being like oh i am always the victim and have never done anything wrong ever pls pity me. i am well aware that i have do and will hurt ppl. it is inevitable. some of those ppl will not consider it worth their time or worth the pain it caused them, to continue to associate with me. that is a fact of life and i am not going to pretend like i am not the one at fault bc i obviously am. that being said, given the frequency of this happening to me, and given how few ppl are in my life now i am extremely incetivised to do something about this. i dont want to be hurting ppl as much as i can and if there is something i am doing, i would like to be told so i can make an effort to change this.
that being said, from what i can see of these numerous situations, i have consistently been a doormat for however long, been triggered by something the other person has done or expressed what to me is a reasonable upset at someones actions, and then just thats that so i really truly do not understand.
ty in advance if u decide to take the time to tell me what u think is going on / if u r in the know (somehow) about what is going on with this, it is really appreciated.

ive sent u anon asks
I agree with Lorenz in Nopes making interesting points about Claut - I mean, Clout’s bonker plans, but bar some “huffs and puffs” the poor lad is completely ignored.
Seeing this, Hopes Lorenz gives up and just goes with it because he’s too smart for the dumb ppl to listen to. :(
I agree, but there is giving up and this...
Tumblr media
“They were the cause of this war, since they refused to die when Supreme Leader and her army marched and destroyed their home and politely asked them to!”
Like, no, I had more faith in you Lorenz, but I guess this route is just like mold, it spreads. But I guess Fodlan and victim blaming are like bread and butter, they go so well together so here he goes...
NOW THEN, on to the VW issues!
Yay main dish!
Having anyone else say something about it would mean someone else disagreed with Claude, which was out of character for all GDs except Lorenz (and maybe Lysithea at most. Leonie doesn’t care as long as she can show off her Captain Jeralt skills)
Hilda.
Hilda, would perfectly fit the bill.
Claude wants to open borders and get along with people of different faiths, origins and all? Hilda could spat her racist almyran tirade to him (instead of throwing them to Cyril... who used to be a “servant” of her very own house!) - not knowing Claude is Almyran, of course, but just raising doubts about his dream, mentionning how her family has been fighting “barbarians” for ages and opening up to them would only endanger the people of Fodlan, on top of, idk, spatting on everyone who died up to today to defend the border (i’m trying to think of an argument here lol).
Which, in turn, would made Claude have the big reaction we (I) was waiting for in the game - you cannot want to defend Almyra’s good name by rekting pirates pretending to be Almyrans (in Alois’s paralogue) but turn a blind eye to the weekly wednesday “raids for funsies”.
And I think it would have been a good dichotomy between Claude “sort of” getting along with Hilda on a personal level, they are friends (she dies to protect him, against their own reservations about people dying for others in CF!) - but this person he gets along with would (he’d believe it) turn on him/hate him if he revealed he was from Almyra...
(that could maybe lead to another Rhea/Nabatean parallel, no matter how good they get along with humans, there’s the fear that the second humans know they’re walking shinies to be looted, they might kill them)
I know I’ve mentioned this (Almyra being an apparently shitty place with shitty people) before on my blog at some point because I know I’ve talked about how fucking racist it all is, but… if you go plainly from what we know about Almyra and take out the fact that the writing for it was racist, we do know it’s not the best place ever and even Claude has only really had negative experiences there (including the weekly Sunday assassination attempts against him)
In Nopes -
Even if the localisation kind of eluded it, in his Mercedes support, in the jp version, Cyril explicitely says he was always hungry before being taken in by the evil church lady, let it be in PAlmyra or in Fodlan.
So ignoring the “they raid for fun and then throw big feasts and party like no tomorrow!” borderline traits that are, very... uh, reminiscent of how someone in the 1800s would describe “The Orient”, we know, per Cyril, that there’s no one there to take care of kids, and war orphans are starving.
Also kind of (read: very extremely) gross how Almyra treats Claude as being evil and disgusting for being half blood of another land when that’s literally exactly what Byleth is and Byleth is the white person who is viewed by any and all as amazing, stupendous, wonderful and unironically godly.
In a certain route, Billy’s mixed blood goes “poof” and they become “human” again (even if they never were since their mother was not a human), to the delight of a certain lord!
All jokes aside, that could be tied to the earlier Hilda point and in the general “racism” theme that - despite ending as we know - was depicted in Tellius with the Brandeds, neither Laguz not Beorcs actually like them. Almyra, through Claude’s bg, has, uh, “less than positive” views about Fodlan people thus shit on Claude, but Fodlan (especially Leicester and Goneril) have the same “less than positive” views about Almyran people, thus would shit on Claude if they knew he was Almyran.
And it could have been a bit cliché, but having Claude trying to protect people, stop the war and maybe rekt the mole people, to finally have people discover he’s neither from Fodlan nor Almyra but from both, and accept him, regardless of his origins, but because he is Claude, the person who saved the continent from the mole people and stopped the war led by Supreme Leader.
But... no.
Because that damn Hresvelg Tea needs to be sold!
I will say I think the urgency about the Opera company is valid since they’re immediately in an area of Edelgard’s reach. If they turned against her, she’d have them slaughtered pretty quickly because they’d have no time to escape
Okay, sorry to bring Nopes again, but I think it’s sort of relevant - in the Nopes Mittelfrank paralogue, in the jp speaking/understanding fandom there was a certain shitstorm (@renisfan correct me plz if I’m sprouting nonsense!), because in the jp text, the blurb to pick the paralogue mentions the Opera company is going to comfort the Imperial Army. Given irl history between Japan and people forced to “comfort” imperial soldiers, I’d say this shitstorm was very well deserved - but bar IS (KT) speedrunning Nopes to be the worst game received in the extended franchise, we know through Doro, Manu and Yuri that Mittelfrank Opera artists sometimes engage in sex work with imperial nobles...
So yeah, idk if she was going to slaughter them, take them hostage or have them “comfort” the Imperial army, but given what the Opera Company might have been used for in Nopes, there definitely was a sense of urgency!
Back to the point - maybe we can blame it on FE16′s lack of villages to save or random NPCs - but when Doro and Manu can go in the Enbarr map to the Opera company, there are no special lines or pseudo events or even NPCs to showcase the reality of Gloucester’s occupation and/or the reason why Erwin is siding with the Empire (I’m not asking for a paralogue that is basically Xavier’s recruitment in FE5 lol, who would want that - but in FE5, when Dorias is raving about Xavier being a traitor, there is an old man who tells him that no, Xavier didn’t betray, he’s just siding with the Freege occupation because he wants to protect his soldiers and their families. Why no old man like this for Erwin/Lorenz in FE16, with Lorenz talking to them or something like this?)
But indeed, it was less urgent to protect Gloucester’s random - since they were already under Erwin’s protection and Supreme Leader had no reason to target them (granted, sometimes, she targets people who don’t do anything to her so... and the demonic beasts won’t be created from scratch! Maybe some people in Gloucester were “volunteered” to become new war assets?) - than a bunch of civilians who have no one to protect them...
Yeah, it’s really annoying the way they spin everything to be “well maybe Edelgard is in the right after all” at every possible chance they can
That’s what I also hold against VW - even if it’s a BE recycled route, as sad as it is - we lit have Lysithea, iirc, saying they have to destroy Nemesis and the Shambala loyalists because...
We must obliterate them in the next battle. It's the only recompense for Edelgard's death.
What a joke.
(in jp it’s clearer she means she wants to avenge her death)
Imagine someone says they have to defeath Ashera/Lehran and ends with “It’s to avenge Lekain’s death”. Like, wtf. Seriously. This happens in the explore section before fighting Nemesis, after Rhea’s final infodump about how her people were massacred as things to be looted, but the game, instead of, idk, saying something like “it’s the only thing we can do to settle the wrongs made to Nabateans” reminds you that, uh, Rhea might be a genocide survivor, but Supreme Leader was experimented upon (by the same people she later sides with) and died (tons of sad uwus) and was used by those evil people (and yet she still aided and abaited them with their crazed experiments by foddering her own civilians to be used as guinea pigs, in Remire, and later on, using their demonic beasts as regular members of her army!), so, uh, for 1 step of “Rhea maybe not BaD?” we have to be reminded that, “Supreme Leader GoOd”.
This is essentially an example of Edelgard giving a non-answer.
There’s a reason why I came up with the “Supreme Replies (tm)” concept lol, remember the “no u”?
She often does this with Rhea, in SB when Rhea asks her why she is breaking Fodlan’s peace and attacking them, she gives a Supreme Reply in the lines of if you don’t understand then I can’t do anything for you or something like that. Even if CF, when Rhea is more or less telling her she doesn’t want to kill her because she was really fond of Willy, instead of asking why Rhea is saying this - because in her mind, Nabateans are creatures with no regard for human lives - she goes “don’t presume too much I won’t die today”.
And the devs let her sprout her flat one-liners (maybe thinking they’re very cool) and the discussion always ends here. Dimitri cannot give a meaningful reply to the “no u” and the Zahras chapters... well.
So the moral of the story is basically that Lorenz can be used to act ooc at any time it’s needed and used as the guy we can get mad at (and the dialogue makes a point of saying we should do that), but Edelgard must always stay in character because she is always correct about anything and everything, and if she were ooc then something she says wouldn’t be correct anymore.
Lorenz was a better character than what they gave him to work with in Houses, and in Hopes, when he was given that chance to work with what he really was, they had the characters just ignore him for the sake of fulfilling the Edelgard-is-right centric plot of GW’s second half. Which like… really fucking sucks that half of Claude’s route is literally just a second route of Edelgard-is-right-centric.
Hahaha, that’s basically my issue with the entire (minus the non recruitable characters) cast of FE16/Nopes, and why I warmed up to the BL after AG - everyone’s characterisation must be blown away at one point to give a small “Rhea/Church BaD” jab while, at the same time, be able to praise Supreme Leader (and even join her).
We can’t know what the fuck is happening in Gloucester or with Lorenz’s random people, because it’s a territory under imperial supervision and if it’s bad it will reflect poorly on Supreme Leader. SS is supposed to be her most critical route (it’s here we have the Ferdie’n’Lys paralogue, revealing that while Ludwig might be a douchebag, Supreme Leader is letting “Uncle Arry” run Hrym dry, in Ludwig’s supposed name while the guy is under house arrest).
Lorenz could have been so much, and I think he can be interesting in fanfics that explore his character more than IS/KT who ended up with making him a Supreme Leader mouthpiece or “the guy who has to disagree because the plot commends him to”.
It's still wild to me that people will go to bat for the nothing characters that are Randolph and Fleche as proof of Dimitri being bad; we know next to nothing about them, they have miniscule screentime, what little we do know of Randolph paints him as human scum who'd do horrific things if it meant a chance at a promotion, and Fleche illogically only ever holds a grudge against someone for killing her brother if that someone is AM!Dimitri, with her completely vanishing from the game in every other route.
Eh,
I'd say they play the same purpose than this random child in TS in Roland's story - at this point, both lords want vengeance, and they have to face someone who also wants (misdirected!) vengeance at them, smth smthg like war sucks because people die.
But it's completely wasted in FE16, because, as you said, Randy isn't a random or a civilian or a war orphan, he is a general leading an attack on refugees/civilians/randoms to gain more fame, and dies in the process.
Now, can we say Flèche's anger and death are ultimately directed at Randolph, who died for nothing and took his sister down with him in his quest for "muhrit" ? Or are we supposed to think that this scene is important because Dimitri, the Blue Lord, isn't supposed to fall as low as the Imperial Army - something he comes close to (apparently?) ?
And yet again, it completely fails.
Because for one Randolph - who also had a family and loved ones - we have 50 Waldos and Baldis, whose lives aren't given any fuck about.
We don't see a war prisoner, or an Adrestian civilian accusing Supreme Leader of having sent her/his wife/husband/daughter/son to death with a conquest they never asked and trying to off her.
Only Dimitri receives this backlash from - invaders who wanted to invade and suddenly remember they have loved ones so are very sad when their loved ones dies - Flèche, but not Claude nor Billy, as you rightfully pointed out.
And Supreme Leader never receives any backlash - or wake up call - from a real third party/civilian/casualty who could have done the exact same thing.
Emile mentions how, during her attack, the Holy Grounds near Garreg Mach were turned in a slaughterhouse, why don't we have any civilian who survived from that try to take a jab at Supreme Leader? Waldi's best friend? Baldo's mother? A war captive from Leicester/Faerghus or a conscripted Adrestian?
I laughed about it with friends earlier, and again with the teatime paralogue, but it truly feels as if only 1/3rd (since the church doesn't count) of the cast will face consequences for the war and suffers backlash from the constant fighting (they didn't even start!).
Whenever you have to deal with serious stuff in Fodlan, it'll be for the BL members.
The rest? Will sip tea, talk nonsense, try to solve "mysteries" and live as if nothing is happening in the background.
Just imagine how both deer routes could have been much more impactful and interesting - instead of being a recycled Billy route with a different infodump at the end - if Raphael's sister popped up to a War Council, asking Claude to stop coddling the Empire because their lands were invaded, her grandfather put to Aymr and her inn destroyed by the Imperial Army, or how Ignatz's older brother discovers how Adrestia is burning pieces of art and history and every material related to Leicester and Faerghus history because they want to push an "Adrestia Eternal" narrative. Heck, Claude could even discover more "lore" by picking a Leif route, sort of rescuing the people "handpicked" to become new Baldos and Waldis, discovering the secret of the artificial crest stones and maybe having an infiltration map where, lo, instead of receiving an info dump, they maybe witness Rhea being turned in a relic or used to "produce" artificial crest stones.
War BaD, but only when we can make the BL suffer for it, for the rest, it's just a bgm.
And even then, it can't be too critical of Supreme Leader, because she was made to sell alts in FE heroes or dubious Cipher Cards.
"Supreme Leader", "cute girls" and "I want to see how Faerghus and its knights will deal with the aftermath of the Tragedy while defending against the invading forces".
Tl; dr : Flèche and Randolph are named, which is a cheap way to make people care for them despite their role in the plot, but the demonic beasts and the civilians dying aren't mentionned nor talked about.
Hell, why do you think I gave names to the artificial demonic beasts? The game doesn't want you to think too much about them, but if I talk about Baldo and Waldi, maybe the fandom will?

I wish you would write a fic where Susan got to keep her baby for once.
well. hm. what would this look like in my hands. okay, okay, so in this particular scenario, i actually imagine neil was putting 2 + 2 together and finding out susan's preggo right after the move. like, even before susan does. and she's all kinds of alarmed but neil is?? oddly excited?
he's all like, "isn't this great? we get to have a new baby in this new town. what a perfect way to cement our brand new life, huh?"
and susan doesn't want to be hopeful but with neil's positive reaction, she tentatively feels hope anyway. maybe things rly will be different, right?
continues under the cut bc this got fucking long.
yeah, well, neil's good mood lasts until it's actually born and responsibilities ensue. he never had to deal with billy as a baby rly, bc billy's mom took care of that part and also, like. in this 'verse at least, billy was a low-maintenance baby. didn't cry much. maybe he did at first but like, after being dropped on the head a couple times, he just went quiet and didn't rly bother anybody after that. wouldn't get loud again until elementary age. and max didn't come into neil's life until she was even elementary age, so defo past all the baby stuff.
the new infant tho screams like a mofo. everybody in the house is on edge. sleep is hard to come by for the whole household. the care and keeping responsibilities mostly fall on susan but neil holds it against her every. single. time. he has to change a diaper or hold a bottle, as if it's some major failing on susan's part that he should ever have to do anything like this at all.
max tries to help but she can't even hold the baby tbh. it makes her v uncomfortable, she never gets it right and doesn't know what to do when it squirms!! what if she drops it!? plus she thinks baby smells weird even when it's got a clean diaper, an unappealing mashed food and powder combo with a lingering whiff of wet rubber. and billy. is billy. he has to watch it sometimes, naturally. if it's just him and baby at home, he'll blast his stereo to cover up the crying, as long as he knows its other needs have been tended to. like, yk, the "it'll cry itself to sleep eventually," approach. which works actually. metallica becomes the go-to baby lullaby.
but lo and behold, when it's like, let's say 6 months or smth, baby gets an ear infection. like babies do. won't stop wailing. just. will NOT stop. v much in pain and has no other means of communication. neil and max are home. billy is on a date. susan's stuck in a long line at the grocery store. neil had a shitty day at work and he's already aggravated. pacifier isn't working, lil thing just keeps hollering, so. in a burst of frustration, he starts throttling baby. max is in her own room but hears it the second the noises change and hurries to help, blood ice cold.
she stops neil from killing baby sibling but gets a black eye and a bloody nose for her troubles. this is what susan comes home to. i've written a lot of susan kills neil scenarios but i think this is the first one that comes to mind where in this round, it really is out of anger and not fear. both are present, ofc. but the actual act on her part is one of anger. bc she feels stupid that he ever had her the slightest bit convinced a new baby would make anything better. that neil ever made her feel like he'd be better and instead, he chose to be even worse. susan ties him to the bedposts under the guise of a sex thing, convincing neil she wants to treat him to smth special bc he's been oh so stressed out lately. bashes his brains in with a hammer at least 20 times, a la sally challen style.
alas, reality commences and susan goes to prison. ig a long time ago there was this made for tv movie abt this lady killing her abusive husband by setting the bed aflame that gave the public the misconception that women who kill their abusers are typically acquitted, but uh, that's not true. yeah, it was true for the lady whom the movie was based off of, but usually they're convicted and serve unduly harsh sentences for their "crimes." but if i get on that soap box, we gonna be here the whole fucking day, so, moving on now. susan's off to the big house. albeit both baby and max's injuries are documented and considered mitigating circumstances so her charges are reduced from first degree murder to voluntary manslaughter with the potential for early release.
billy's close to 19 so he's an adult, if only technically speaking. has custody of baby and max. i've decided baby in this 'verse is amab but will eventually come out as trans when she's abt ten yrs old. billy tries his best. max tries her best too. baby's nickname is ducky bc the rubber duck?? by far the favorite toy!! baby p much lives in the bathtub, playing with the rubber duck. billy, who would move them back to cali in a heartbeat if it wasn't so far from susan's prison, defo relates. he's also aquatic by nature.
okay, so the move back to cali does happen. over the months of her kids coming to visit her in prison susan can see how exhausted the teenagers are and she's p much just like, 'u guys gotta go. get outta this rural heckhole u hate, stop bringing urselves n my bby to this dismal place.' and they don't think she's serious but the next time they come to visit, she doesn't meet them, so. yup. serious it is. billy, max, n baby take neil's life insurance money and head off to cali.
this is a modern au, okay, inmates sneaking smartphones into the prison n all that. so susan makes deals and friends and does favors, and gets some help from the ones who are good at bitcoin and scams and counterfeiting and what have you. this enables her to do discreet online "shopping." so she gets ducky all kinds of rubber ducks, at least a handful of times a year. the ducks get more unique and less childish as ducky grows. susan apologizes almost every time she talks to the older kids on the phone for like, five yrs. max isn't rly angry with how things ended with neil tho, more so has that residual anger that susan ever got together with neil in the first place. billy doesn't rly know what to feel tbh, accepts the apologies p numbly bc he's too damn exhausted with being the primary caregiver in over his head to even think abt how he feels at the end of the day.
susan gets released on good behavior around the same time ducky comes out, announcing she's a girl. it's an adjustment for billy and max to get used to bc they never rly suspected, but they're 100% supportive. susan is...oddly excited? not for selfless reasons (tho she is earnestly supportive) but bc it's like. not only does that mean trashing the masculine deadname neil had adamantly declared for ducky, but it means all in all, she got out at the perfect time bc she gets to be introduced to the authentic version of her child along w errbody else. makes her feel less left behind, like she didn't miss out on errything despite being put away for a decade. susan moves in with all of them, obvi, in a small house by the seaside filled to the brim with rubber ducks (billy and max also contributed to ducky's collection on birthdays and holidays, the first duck billy ever got has skulls, and the first max ever got is a frankenstein monster duck). home is cluttered, awkward, and tentative but free of fear and ripe with *genuine* new beginnings.
believe me, anonymoose, i am just as surprised as u are at how fuckin long this got.

Saaayyy do you hate akechi? I read your last comment and kinda thought~ Though it's alright if u do, it's up to u, just wondering (Ps I love your drawings, keep up the good work👍)
I’ll level with you, I have a lot of opinions about Akechi, and I’m gonna be brutally honest.Canon did Akechi soooo poorly and it irks me because I completed a game right prior to P5 that did this exact plotline so much better and managed to convince me the villain was remorseful for his actions without hamfisting a bullshit tragic backstory at the very end without buildup. Akechi didn’t deserve my sympathy in canon just because opsie whopsie i had a bad lifey :c! isn’t an excuse to straight up merder like 2 people from the PT’s crew and countless others. Ryuji’s reaction to Akechi’s fall was the only sensible one. “He was manipulated :c” Yeah no he had a plan in mind, he just used his plan to manipulate Shido, so that doesn’t paint him as just a victim, it means he knew his place and he intended to use the abuser- he approached Shido first after all iirc. He just lost the manipulation war.
That being said, at the very start of the game, I caught the pancake-line, recognized the silhouette in Okumura’s palace, and saw his two-faced bitchness reveal itself when he called Makoto useless, and all-the-while, he played the role of “good boy uwu everyone love him, he a celebrity” and I hated it so much. Because he wasn’t like that to me. It was so transparent, and I was upset at the fact no one else seemed to notice when it was just blatantly there in plain view? Nothing he did showed me that he had intelligence.
So, seeing everyone else treat him as smart when he fucked up hearing morgana’s voice, never even THOUGHT a person as shitty as Shido would get RID OF HIM just like everyone else he’s gotten rid of that had ties to the election, and never goddamn janked futaba’s hand away from his phone that probably holds a lot of slimy contacts and evidence against his innocence? Nevermind, he could have kept the phone, but why does he casually have deadass crime-related conversations on that fucking phone when anyone could just pASS DOWN THE HALLWAY? God he was written like an idiot.. what were you all HIGH and didn’t NOTICE?
I know he was supposed to be portrayed as “oooo poor baby everyone hates him online now” but none of that goddamn hate was real since they staged the entire PT site to bot views and votes? So all the negativity towards him was fake and he fucking knew it and acted like a wounded little baby it was so shit to watch because I could feel how fake it was. The reason I didn’t complete P5 right away and had to have a 6 month haitus from the game is literally only because Akechi was going to be the center of attention if I progressed plot, and I didn’t want to deal with fake niceties with this asshole. Didn’t wanna pretend he’s CUTE AND SHIT when he’s standing next to 2 PT members wHOSE PARENTS HE FUCKING WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH FOR HIS FUCKED UP AGENDA. No thanks. Keep uwubaby to yourselves.
As a side-note. The very moment Akechi revealed his BS and broke facade? And started embracing his role as a goddamn psycho? I loved it? I loved it because I felt like the mask was finally removed and I could embrace his character for what said character was actually supposed to do. The very moment he revealed himself as a shitlord and EVERYONE was aware and started treating him just as a shitlord I was like. Yes. YES. NOW WE’RE GETTING SOMEWHERE. I actually found myself smiling a lot when he was talking because I actually felt like - finally, he’s being genuine for once. And as much as I hated the first half of the game for how stupid he was written, I loved how fucked up he was at the end.
Except for… the part where he acts like he was remorseful.Yeah, that part I don’t believe. Which was sad. I finally started enjoying his role and then he acts like “Maybe in a different world, we would have been friends…” maybe in a different world you’d have a palm tree for a nose I don’t give a fuck Akechi- in this world, you’re a piece of shit. I loved his end (deserved) but god the way it was excecuted just had more bad writing all over it. I could tell 2 people were playing tug of war with Akechi’s role and it was just not pretty at all. Especially the weird ass “Shido my daddy” line, I just started laughing abruptly like “Oh, oh worm, this is where we’re going with this? Ok.” but i loved his fight, I just hated all the friendship garbo inbetween and that the fact his fall was left ambiguous so we never know for sure. Tbh that isn’t much of a problem bc it leaves room for good fanfiction and can set up a sequel but I don’t feel like P5 needs a sequel or update. It… just needs a rewrite lmao.
This is TNT I’m an explosive and welcome to my burst of opinions thanks for having a blast.

I have some opinions/thoughts that I’d really love to get off my chest even if other people think I’m completely wrong.
Gaston did not deserve to die, Gaston was hardly a bad person, Gaston was basically forced into being the villian of this story.
[I’m referring to the 2017 remake of BATB rather than the original animation.]
Let’s point out some difference between the 1991 Gaston and 2017 Gaston -2017 Gaston was not a misogynist -did not abuse Lefou -even verbally -Like for fucksakes, the friendship between Lefou and Gaston was so genuine. I’m frequently seeing these things around Gafou is an abusive ship, buts it’s really not? He tells Lefou ‘thank you’ says ‘you’re the best Lefou’ sincerely asks ‘how has no woman snatched you up?’, messes around with Lefou like buds (wrestling bite marks, picking him up to demonstrate strength, gets on the table and dances with him), let’s Lefou calm him down and boop his nose, and not once does he insult or hurt even when it seemed like he would (after Lefou wrapped his arms around him, or when he couldn’t spell his name, when he said ‘who needs her when you’ve got us’, etc). They’re sincerely good, close friends, but don’t worry I’m not ignoring all the shitty things Gaston did to Lefou I will get to that in a second. -I said he’s not a misogynist, right? Cause that’s important. Big step away from the OG. -Doesn’t insult Belle for reading -Instead he feigns interest in the book because he knows it’s her interest -even brings her flowers, whataguy -Has manners (“excuse me, please let me through” going through the crowd, didn’t push everyone out of his way) -Goes to her rescue when the town’s people are being mean (sure this is because he wanted to be the hero to seduce her, but seriously he was one of the few people who didn’t harass or bully Belle for being different) -Doesn’t call Maurice crazy and instead offers his help to soothe the men (again, seduction, but seriously he’s still being polite and helping the underdog unlike the OG)
I’ll probably think of more things to add to this Gaston-wasnt-an-asshole list but I think this basically gets the point across that, well, Gaston wasn’t an asshole. He was immensely vain, yes, but that doesn’t mean he was a bad person. Cus ya know who else started out incredibly vain but still managed to be the fucking prince in this story? Yep, the Beast/Adam of course.
Time to do some comparing of the prince and the villian because spoiler alert, they basically parallel each other.
I’ll begin this part with Belle’s comment of, “No one can change THAT much, Gaston” Ahem
LITERALLY SHUT THE FUCK UP ARE YOU SERIOUS This line pissed me off immensely, because that’s literally Adam’s entire character arc, changing himself completely, literally and figuratively. Like I’m sorry you wanna do a repeat of the song “Something there” aka the song where the lyrics are basically “he was an asshole brute who I hated but now he’s c h a n g e d” Literally so pissed off at that all.
But as I was saying, Gaston basically mirrors Adam’s arc, meaning to say they’re practically the same character things going on but sorta reversed.
Like okay -Upon first meeting Belle, the Beast locks her father then her in a tower and is a huge dick but then they bond over books and he gives her flowers and he’s nice to her. -Upon first interacting with Belle, Gaston is nice to her, gives her flowers, tries to bond over books, but then he’s a huge dick and locks her father and then her in a cart.
Do you see what I did there? Literally the same actions, but backwards.
Let’s do some more comparing. -They both have terrible, terrible tempers. But you know what? The Beasts is definitely a lot worse than Gaston’s.
Let’s review how both Gaston and Adam dealt with Belle’s dinner rejection -Beast: literally motherfucking demands she has dinner with him, bangs his paws on the door, scrEAMS at her, and then announces she can starve if she won’t eat with him -Gaston: [not direct quotes, can’t remember exact words but basically what he says] “oh, busy?” nope “okay, then some other time?” boom that’s that. Yeah he still is persistent on winning her over even after this rejection but the man handled it a lot better then Adam (and he brought flowers for her dinner table).
I’m about to move on from Adam and start talking about how Gaston treated Lefou in a sec, but I would just really really really like to put some emphasis on the fact that both Adam and Gaston were incredibly narcissistic men. The amount of self pride and conceded they have is in the beginning is completely parallel and it leads to both of their unfortunate fates. The point in this, is Gaston is not a bad guy just because he loves himself a bit much, just as the Beast was not a bad guy for loving himself too much. Like, the way Adam turns down Agatha for being ugly seems exactly like something Gaston would do, so why does the movie end with Gaston dying while the Beast learns his lesson and gets his happily ever after? Because, the OG Gaston was truly an asshole who deserved to die and this 2017 remake of course had to stay true to the story. Even though this Gaston really wasn’t a true villian and didn’t deserve to die – rather he deserves a redemption arc just as Adam was given – he died anyway because that’s how the story goes.
Anyway, I’ll get on with this and bring back Lefou.
Some of you have probably been reading this while thinking “But Marley [das my name], Gaston was a shitty person, he wasn’t a good friend to Lefou at all because he manipulated him, let him get punched in the face, didn’t protect him at all, and threatened to lock him up. Plus, he was only into Belle because she’s pretty.”
Alright alright alright: Lefou. He’s an exceedingly important character as he gives us insight to Gaston’s character. Two crucial things he reveals about Gaston … .
-Gaston has anger issues. My father has anger issues, and so do I, and we both are on meds for it. Let me say, having anger management problems and getting angry are very different things. It’s just like he having anxiety and getting nervous are very different things. I think most of you can probably relate or understand anxiety more then anger issues, so just put yourself in Gaston’s shoes with that in mind. Anyway, back to Lefou. He shows us that Gaston has anger issues when he rushes to Gaston’s aid by saying “deep breathes” and then “think about the war”. He tells us that Gaston has coping mechanisms for when he gets like this. Does it matter if Gaston has anger problems? Does it make him less of a dick? Like, seriously Marley, does this information really make up for any of the things he did? Yes, yes it does matter. It’s like when you/someone your love is having an anxiety attack, or when you fall into a depressive episode, or when a loved one acts out of PTSD [which Gaston could totally completely have], or when someone with schizophrenia or delusions starts having episodes, it’s basically exactly like whenever anyone’s mental illness starts to act up. You don’t feel like yourself and you don’t so things you would normally do. This is definitely the case for Gaston; he acts out of character when he gets angry like this. And that’s my second point that Lefou proves in this movie.
-Gaston is not being himself when he starts doing all that terrible shit that leads him to his demise. Lefou makes it fairly obvious that that is not how Gaston usually acts. He does this in numerous ways which I will quickly try to summarize and go through: 1) Questions Gaston. Obviously if Gaston often tied up old men to trees or in general left people to die, Lefou would have just went with it instead of going “are you sure?” 2) doesn’t immediately lie to save Gaston’s ass. Again, if Gaston frequently had Lefou lie for him, then it would have came to Lefou like second nature and he wouldn’t have hesitated. 3) Once more, questioning Gaston. The scene I’m about to refer to is when Gaston locks Belle and her father in the carriage. Lefou grabs Gaston’s arm and goes to question him again, but before he can Gaston threatens to lock him up as well. Dick move on Gastons end, no? But this isn’t something he would normally do or say to Lefou, for if it was Lefou wouldn’t have bothered speaking up because he would have known what Gaston’s reaction would be. Instead, Lefou is used to being able to talk sense into Gaston and reason with him (refer back to nose boop scene). 4) Running to Gaston’s side for protection during the fight [castle scene]. Lefou is probably used to having Gaston protect him during fights (war time) and obviously didn’t expect Gaston to throw him to the enemy. Like, yous guys heard him shriek Gaston’s name before the piano fell on him, right? He was obviously expecting Gaston to rescue him. Even after he’s trapped under the piano, he still reaches and calls out for Gaston. The way Gaston is acting is not the Gaston he knows. 5?) “I was on Gaston’s side, but we are so in a bad place right now” [however he says it you know the line I’m referring to]. Aight I think this is the one line that really captures the point I’m trying to make. Lefou has switched sides because Gaston is being a major douchebag and Lefou’s not having it. Lefou doesn’t put up with being treated like shit [MrsPotts saying he deserves better and Lefou agreeing]. So o b v i o u s l y Lefou is not used to Gaston being so cruel and angry. If Gaston treated Lefou like this all the time, then Lefou wouldn’t be by his side [because he left his side once he started acting like this]. Lefou knows how he should be treated, and how he’s being treated is not what he’s used to. You dig what I’m saying? I’m kinda rushing through these points because I’m getting tired of this.
*deep breathe* Alright, last point, as I mentioned above, ‘Gaston only wanted Belle because she was beautiful’ Alright alright alright I’m not even going to talk about the Gaston in this point, I’m just going to talk about the huge flaw that is Beauty and the Beast.
Adam is turned into the Beast because he needs to learn to not judge people by how they look, he needs to learn that it’s what’s on the inside that matters. Right. So why is Belle the one that learns this lesson? Adam falls in love with a gorgeous girl, meanwhile Belle falls in love with a hideous monster who turns into a nice dude on the inside. Belle is the character who learned to not judge a book by its cover [cover being a monsterous beast but inside he is a gorgeous prince]. As soon as Belle walked into the castle, all the furniture was like “yooooo she could be the one, master hit her up” and instantly Adam’s like “well I need a girl to fall in love with to break my curse and she cute yeah let’s do it”. Like of course there’s more to our then this, but what I’m trying to say is Adam had already planned to try to charm Belle before he knew what kind of person he was because he was desperate to break the curse. So he and everyone in the castle just saw her and was like “she was a girl, he was a boy, can I make it anymore obvious?” So anyway anyway anyway, Gaston was only interested in Belle because she was beautiful and he wanted a wife, but Beast was only interested in Belle because she was beautiful and could break the spell. See the parallels again? Like, Beast later fell in love with Belle for who she was and she made him a better person, Gaston could have totally done the same thing. And okay, there’s no proof Beast cared that Belle was beautiful or not, but yo, Disney definitely should have made Belle ugly af so when Adam met her the snob in him would have been “ew she’s ugly, next” and then Lumiere and Mrs. Potts woulda been like “boi Imma whoop yo ass if you don’t give that girl a try, I don’t care how fucked up her teeth are smfh” and then Adam would have learned the lesson that the enchantress was trying to school him about in the first place [this applies to the 1991 animated film, not directly at the 2017 btw]
Well I was trying to keep this professional and moreso eloquently written but you can tell I’m coming out of my cage and I’ve been doing just fine gotta gotta be down because I want it all
Okay okay okay Okay okay Okay
I believe we’re nearing the end. I believe I’ve said all I needed to say made all the points I could [honestly definitely not because I’m constantly thinking about this and arguing with no one in my head, I have a lot to say and later I’ll be making toast and be like “anD ONE MORE THING”]
I’m very upset Gaston died because he wasn’t a terrible enough character to deserve death.
So Dear Disney, either make Gaston more of a shitty person, or bring him back to life. I’ll be waiting for an apology letter until this is done.
Of course I’m kidding.
I just have such a love and passion for Gaston and I’m truly sick of hearing people tell me that Gafou is an abusive ship and Gaston is a villian.
And if you refuse to see that Gaston wasn’t a bad guy but still believe that Adam is such a prince than you’re insanely hypocritical.
People just see what they want to see.
Also I’m terribly sorry for making this so diddly damn long, I honestly have no idea how to do the cutoff “Show more” thing, I’m on mobile. So sorry if you’re trying to rapidly scroll past all of this and it’s taking forever.
But honestly fuck you don’t scroll past my argument.
And also if you legit read all this then motherfucking congratulations to you. Like I don’t even want to read all of this shit to edit it.
Thanks for the attention. Marley OUTT
