I like to think that Curly and Jimmy had parallel lives on earth.

That Curly was an only child and his parents died shortly after he became a captain. They got to see his biggest accomplishment but he had no one to really celebrate it with after. Jimmy has siblings and his parents and they didn’t care when he got the co-pilot job cause he’s just the back up. Sure they’re happy for him but no reason to celebrate.

They could both barely afford rent. That’s how it is that late in capitalism and the world the live. The difference is Curly could down size, Jimmy would end up down on the curb. Jimmy had flings and Curly had partners. Both fleeting but Curly pulled away and they left Jimmy.

I like to think they lived parallel to each other in a way they both noticed. Curly felt a kinship and Jimmy felt resentful. Curly worked to make a good deal with what he had and Jimmy scorned his dealt cards and wanted the hand he thought Curly had made.

#this is like purely headcanons #I like to think where Jimmy sees Curly as being ungrateful and undeserving for what he has #he misses all the reasons why Curly may be unhappy or dissatisfied or stressed #Curly gets patted on the back and lorded by superiors not knowing they grip his shoulder and breath down his back #Curly gets a nice promotion and is stuck with a company that would send him on a death mission for mouthwash time and time again #Curly gets to steer the ship and he sits bored imagining all the fun the captains having while Curly is painfully aware one wrong move and #they all die. Jimmy says his friend is living the life and Curly can’t see the life he’s lived #but he smiles anyway cause hey atleast hes got a good friend in it…#this is not to be taken as ship I just think they have a codependent relationship based on Curly having this fear of change and acute #loneliness that Jimmy doesn’t take seriously but does take advantage of cause he’s lonely in a parallel way #like I think a big point in the game is that Curly is too good a friend and colleague to Jimmy n not enough of a friend and Captain tz #to Anya but also that Jimmy is an awful friend to him before hand and he takes it cause he has like this mindset #I hate them together but they won’t let go of each other but at different times #mouthwashing #Mouthwashing game #curly mouthwashing #captain curly #jimmy mouthwashing

season 5 of white collar is very pleasing to me because i love conman neal caffrey but it really makes me dislike peter. he tells every criminal he comes across that all they’ll ever be is a criminal, but also tells neal that he corrupted the system by getting him out of prison on a bribe but was your system ever really working if you keep putting people through it to punish them for their crimes but then also don’t think they’ll ever change? he’s lowkey turned into kramer this season

#peter has the balls to say that neal stole the coins cause he’s a thief #not because he wanted to save peter #and i’ve said this before but neal just doesn’t get angry #and so there’s no goddamn catharsis #so i just keep getting angrier and angrier #every time peter declares that neal’s a criminal and that’s all he’ll ever be #cause i do think neal goes back to pulling cons #because peter treats him like a criminal again #when neal had earned a right to be free before he ran to the island on peter’s signal #to not have to spend his life tied to the bureau just because he’s good at what he does #neal got peter the promotion because of how well they worked together #he deserved good things #and with no diana in this season it felt like he was working in enemy territory #i love him i hope he’s having fun in paris i hope mozzie joined him #white collar #neal caffrey #peter burke

God I would love to have seen Lieutenant Jopson actually disagree and argue with Crozier, just once.

I'd love to have seen them have a proper argument once Jopson finally had the official authority to actually speak his mind a bit more.

I can't help but wonder if, perhaps unconsciously, Crozier promoted him in small part so as to have a lieutenant who would always agree and back him up in his decisions. But Jopson, of course, is a bright lad who knows his own mind, and nothing tantalises me more than the thought of that united front just not happening.

#This is not an anti-Crozier post just to be clear #I don't actually think he promoted Jopson with any of that in mind #But I do think that time and time again it's clear that often he doesn't know or understand people half as well as he thinks he does #On the one hand it's tragic and I pity him for it #But on the other hand those misjudgements of human nature have so much potential for biting him in the arse in amusing ways #Like 'Oh you thought I'd automatically agree with you on every point like I did before?'#'Well jokes on you bitch!
