What was the process of coming up with the title for Time and a Half? How did you decide on that title? (guy who just finished Time and a Half and doesn't know what to do with themself <3)

So basically, I had written most of the story, and I was all excited to post the first chapter - and then I realized the story was saved as "girl help I'm mentally illness" in my drafts and that's probably not the best title for this story. Coming up with the title involved a lot of "Standing Still In the Shower" and "Contemplating Life" and "Realizing You've Been Standing Still in the Shower For Two Hours Thinking About What To Title Your Mysterious Benedict Society Fanfiction."

My starting point was the running bit about Milligan being exhausted/overworked/can't catch a break. "Time and a Half" in its simplest form refers to getting paid "time and a half" / 1.5 times your wage when you work overtime, which is common in my country. But, it also was vague enough to be about Milligan not having enough time with his family, then getting a sort of new start after retiring so he can spend more time with Kate. Most importantly, it allowed me to make a bunch of puns related to time lol

Theres moreeee, this is so so good.. it makes me emotional realizing that these kids are on the path to being fluent cherokee speakers and will be able to keep the language going.

This family is a part of the little cherokee seeds program, creating new first language Cherokee speakers by paying mothers to just bring their babies and craft and cook and speak cherokee with cherokee elders all day. I don't mean it in a creepy way I promise, but I feel a kinship with China, Japan and Korea i wish more people from my region shared, because...we have sister ecosystems!

It's actually amazing, there are so many plant genera that are not closely related to anything else and just have a couple living species: One (or two) from mid latitude Southeast Asia, and one from the Southeastern USA.

For example, the two living lotus species (sacred lotus and American lotus), the two living tulip tree/ Liriodendron species, the Chinese and American sweetgums (Liquidambar spp.) the Chinese and American trumpet vines (Campsis spp.) the Chinese, Japanese and American wisteria (Wisteria spp), the Chinese, Taiwan and American sassafras (Sassafras spp.) I KNOW i'm forgetting many of them because there are so many. Twins!!!!

And there's so many iconic plant groups shared in common between East Asia and SE USA. Like dogwoods, magnolias, rhododendrons, we even have our own bamboo!!!

I think a lot of how strangely familiar each ecosystem would feel to someone visiting from the other one.

And I bet there's a lot of ecological knowledge and insights we could share with each other...

It cracks me up whenever I see you in the comments of a mbs fanfic and you mention Milligan's speeding tickets because it's basically canon now thanks to your fic. You brought this upon us all and now you have to live with the weight of your genius
