Instagram channel, that tiktok profile thing, remix album on the 4th day, 2 extra album versions on Spotify for a total of 4 covers for the title track, Jimmy Fallon performance, Pop-Up store, etc. This is exactly what Muse got. It's clear that Hybe giving these things to Jimin wasn't them playing favorites, it was just their new album release method that they were testing on Jimin first. And Jin got the improved version of this method. 1 extra remix, 1 extra physical album version, 1 extra digital album version, 2 extra single CDs, radio on week 1, etc.
I saw V stans complaining about him being the only vocal line member to not get a remix album, but that's just because he didn't release an album this year, if he did he definitely would've gotten the same things as Muse and Happy. The equivalent of Layover isn't Muse it's Face and Face didn't get more than 2 remixes or any different album versions either. But you know what Layover did get that neither Face nor Muse got? MVs for every song and multiple performances for all those songs.
The reality is that Hybe has never actually given Jimin anything that the other members didn't get too. And often they get better versions of what Jimin got and even things exclusive to them that Jimin was never even offered. What really happens here is that Hybe will use Jimin to test out new types of release and promotion and because he's given these things first he gets all the heat while everyone after him gets away unscathed. Because seriously, tell me one thing Jimin was given that no one else was? Because I can name several things everyone else but him got.
The difference between Jimin and the other 5 members (cause we all know Jungkook is an exception) is not that Hybe gives Jimin more, no the actual difference is that with the same, if not less tools Jimin manages to achieve way more. And Jin is about to prove this. Happy has everything that Muse got plus more versions, multiple stages, probably more than a month of promotion, the artist behind the album not being in the fuckass military and being able to actually promote the album in person or even just acknowledge the album's existence at all. It has all this but you know damn well it's gonna perform way below Muse. Who got a #14 and later a #12 on the Hot 100 with 6 remixes, 4 covers, 1 CD and 0 radio. Running Wild has 7 remixes, 4 covers, 2 CDs and was sent to radio on the first week but you know it won't even see the top half of the chart (if it even enters it at all). And that's not to mention my girl Like Crazy getting a #1 with 5 dollars and a dream. Running Wild will be lower on it's first week than Like Crazy was on it's second and that's what we call karma. The only thing Happy has over Muse is global physical sales. But no wait, Face has more than both and it was Jimin's actual debut album like Happy is Jin's. And both Face and Muse got #2 on billboard 200 while Happy is not even predicted to get a top 5. So yeah, Jin has literally nothing over Jimin.
And I love this actually. I want every member to get everything Jimin got so they can see exactly what the difference between them and Jimin is. The fans of those 5 have been telling themselves that they could achieve everything Jimin did and more if only they were given the same tools and promotion Jimin got. And I want to see it, I want to see they do what Jimin did. I'll even be nice and not include the sabotage Jimin got, they can try to match him without that. I want to see them try and inevitably fail. And I know their fans will come up with excuses nonetheless but I still want to see it.
The only advantage Jimin actually has compared to hyungline is fan support. But unlike Jungkook Jimin's didn't have the company prime the fandom to be his fans. Every fan Jimin has he gained through his blood, sweet and tears (pun fully intend because the number of fans Jimin got with BST cannot be overstated). We all know armys don't fuck with the rapline but Jin is a vocal line member so if he didn't capture people's attention like Jimin did that's no one's fault but his own. Unless you wanna say it's not Hybe, but instead God who favors Jimin and gave him more talent than Jin, which fair enough, Jimin is in fact God's favorite child. And while Taehyung is popular that popularity comes from visual stans and shippers and we all know how well that popularity translated to his music, and by that I mean that it didn't, man is getting outdone by Jin, I would be embarrassed. And Jungkook (who's fanbase consists exclusively of visual stans, shippers, y/ns and psychopaths) would've faced a similar fate if the company didn't work for him harder then they did for even the group. I have said it before and I'll say it again, Jimin has and will always be the only member who's music and performances people actually care about.

All Cash and No Credit
Let's talk about HYBE's strategy for Jimin's MUSE. It's pretty simple
Maximize Profit - Minimize Success
Let's break down how they're doing it.
Goal #1 is to get as many customers as possible to buy from Weverse instead of regular retailers like chains (Target, Walmart, Barnes & Noble) and online sellers like Amazon. When fans buy on Weverse, a HYBE subsidiary, the company keeps not only the wholesale portion of the album sale, but the retail portion as well. This is obvious, right? If not, I'm happy to explain. The company likely makes twice the profit (give or take) on albums purchased via Weverse. AND, they can control when those albums are shipped, and how, when, or if the sales are reported to the music charting agencies.
The fact that Target pre-sales of MUSE is sold out within hours is suspect. This indicates limited stock, just like the strategy used for Like Crazy CD singles. Meanwhile, Geffen is very slow to release the pre-sale links for other retailers. The Walmart presale just went up. Where are B&N and Amazon? Will they have limited inventory, too?
Putting Jimin's Production Diary on Weverse only was a conscious choice. The cost of the documentary was expensive - more than the monthly fee for streaming services, the company kept all the profit (didn't have to share the costs with Netflix or Disney+), and limited his exposure to the general public. I suspect they will operate the same way with MUSE.
Goal #2 Keep Jimin as low as possible on the charts. We've seen this over and over. First, by splitting Like Crazy versions and disappearing sales, no CD restocks. Then we saw the same behavior from BH/HYBE again with Closer Than This being released on the worst possible day of the year and almost zero promotion. You know the details.
HYBE will limit stock. They will likely not report all sales.
MUSE physical albums will not be eligible for UK charts because of a random inclusion. The previous four solo album releases have had specific UK versions with no inclusions. UK fans will have to rely on digital sales for charting purposes unless BH provides a new version. Dirty.
Goal #3 Promote the album just enough to garner sales from fans while minimizing advertising to the greater public. The announcement of the new album is also strange. The teaser video was only on Instagram and only on the BigHit/BTS channel (this didn't stop anyone, though, as far as I can tell) as well as Weverse (I'm getting tired of that platform). TikTok is a far more effective advertising tool when it comes to targeting young people. Why wasn't the teaser posted to TikTok? Either way, "Jimin Jimin" was trending on X/Twitter with over 1.7 million mentions many hours after the announcement of the new album. There's only so much BH can do to suppress Jimin now that fans have taken marketing him into their own hands.
Let's keep an eye on this.
What's different this time around? This time the fandom knows who is behind thwarting Jimin's success. Precious time was lost during the FACE era when everyone was blaming Jimin's sabotage on Billboard and Spotify, rather than the rightful villain - HYBE/Big Hit. This time the fandom knows to watch their every move and call them out on their shady and unequal treatment. That said, tagging Geffen, Big Hit, and HYBE on X is pretty much useless. They have shown they won't change their behavior when fans complain. Instead, fans must start tagging Billboard, Spotify, and media outlets. Media outlets are the most important. HYBE does not care about the fandom, but they do care about their public image, especially after all the damage that's been done to the company and the stock price due to the ADOR controversy and court case.
I think Jimin is going to a different label for his solo work. That's my hunch. The company is going to squeeze as much profit out of him as possible before he goes, but it's a balancing act because they don't want him to outshine Jungkook. Of course, I could be completely wrong.

Suspicious Treatment of Jimin: What am I forgetting?
I have serious medication-induced brain fog so my memory is swiss cheese these days. I am trying to map out something so I can understand what is happening with our Jimin....
So far:
Hanteo deleted hundreds of thousands in sales; company did not comment.
YouTube froze and deleted millions of streams every day; company did not comment.
Jimin's Spotify profile was not properly listed. It still has no description or link to merch.
Jimin's works are not added to the company's playlist for days and sometimes weeks while other members' works and collabs are added immediately.
Spotify froze and filtered millions of his streams; company did not comment.
His title track was deliberately split, despite qualifying to count as one unit.
His in-ear devices failed to work during a live performance.
He was allowed only 9 days of promotion.
He was denied when he requested more than 2 music videos.
His historic Hot 100 #1 was not acknowledged by the company except for one single retweet the day-of.
He had no celebrations, no formal acknowledgement by company leadership of his achievement or of the resulting huge increase in stock prices.
Billboard changed their charting rules in Week 2; company did not comment until it was time for a different album to sell.
His albums did not ship to China and have not been restocked on WeVerse for weeks (whereas other artists' albums have).
His instagram was shadow banned. His videos on TikTok are also soft-blocked from being boosted.
All other members' YouTube focused views for Take Two auto-generate a preview photo; his does not (this must be deliberately selected not to generate an image). *Apparently they have fixed this issue after enough fans called it out on Twitter.
Some have observed that since Hybe took over, Jimin has been given fewer lines in group songs and less time dancing center as well.
A recent WeVerse article about Morgan Wallen downplayed both Yoongi's tour and Jimin's album as achieving "some partial success in breaking up [Wallen's] domination of the Hot 100."
Add to this the company "omitting" his bills four times, which lead to late payments on insurance premiums, which led to his apartment being "seized," which led to a smear campaign in the press the very same day his OST With You dropped... followed by his personal address and national identity number being doxxed online... and this honestly looks suspicious as hell.
What am I forgetting?
I'm not a manti but if I don't get reasonable explanations I'm gonna become one.
How can it look like anything other that deliberate sabotage so that one member does not outshine the rest?
How is this good business sense?
Jimin is a humble, hardworking team-player with no ambitions to go solo and leave his members. Why would anyone have it out for him?
It's possible there's prejudice and bigotry at play, but deep enough to span multiple departments and cut into the company's bottom line?
And yet how can it not be deliberate? How can any company be THIS incompetent for just ONE member?
And yet if we raise hell, we look like victimizing solos. Yet look at this laundry list!! And it just keeps happening. What can be done??
Can we not organize a quiet mass-email campaign? Can someone not write up a well-researched UCC article to share in English and Korean and keep tagging Hybe? Would it not be possible to comment respectfully about this in WeVerse?
Or would acknowledging it at all make it worse for Jimin?
I don't understand all the politics at play here.
I have no real idea what is happening but part of me is quietly terrified they have it out for him during contract negotiations for some reason.
What is BTS without all our beloved seven?
I'm genuinely very deeply upset.

JK Stationhead Radio 3 October 2023
So nothing too interesting happened in this Stationhead. Well, not as much as we had in the previous two.
JK came a little later than planned, like 10 minutes late, tired after practicing.
He starts with this:
So that's the schedule he was being all sus about?
Sorry, but I'm still not buying it.
Well, in the sense that there is something else he was being all cheeky about, that is.
I wonder.
He answered a comment about his TikTok post and delete.
Plausible deniability. Said it once, will say it again!!
He wanted to copy the trend. So why do the opposite then? Doesn't care it's being posted everywhere? I'm thinking like he knew it would be even if he deleted...
JK was complaining he isn't sleeping well. Super tired. Definitely suffering from insomnia.
JK continuing the LOVE YOU motif from yesterday is trying to say it in different languages. He tries with papago. He tries this in several language, struggling. Like, a lot.
The whole time he's being so cute and adorable and then he wonders why he's called cute by army...
Lol.
After he's done, exhausted from his language lesson, lol, he starts reading comments again.
Interesting.
So the other content we know that's been filmed - where will be seeing that?
Ate chicken again: "at this point it's an addiction, haha".
Seriously, some fans need to learn about boundaries.
We have an approximate timeline for the live tomorrow (although JK being JK is not committing to that one hour, lol).
And they continue...
Ok, we did get some Jimin crumbs, lol.
He reads out a comment asking that the live today will be with Jimin.
And this?
He's so damn cute, lol.
Bammy!!!
likes short sleeves in summer and long in winter.
Boundaries lesson time.
and...
JK comments about the weird comments... again, boundaries being crossed:
Fucking seriously!!!
But still JK is his own flirty self.
I wish fans would understand that he isn't actually hitting on them.
I'm sure that's not what he tells JM's mom though!! Lol.
JK was asked about a solo tour - answered he'd like to.
And then we have this:
This episone:
And this one too, lol:
And that basically was when he said his goodbyes.
I'm sure I missed a few things, but as I mentioned, nothing of importance (I hope, lol)
So, not too much. A little of JK flirty, a lot of JK cute, some Jikook crumbs, and too much perv fans.
Now we count the hours to:
a. Golden pre-sale opening.
b. JK's live tonight.

Because of Who’s instant smash success Jimin will now be included in the live vote on MCountdown this week

The JIMIN LOVERS CLUB..or should i say Smeraldo Garden Marching Band..
This might get lengthy, but I'll try to speak my heart out because what else is tumblr for ? Let's have a one sided chat.
From the recent happenings surrounding MUSE, we have seen Jimin lovers (pjms, jimin biased armies and some real OT7s) fight hard for Jimin.
I still remember how in 2023 after FACE, so called 'armies' made long threads and wrote long essays on how Jimin was indeed not sabotaged, but everything was his own choice. I wish I'd remember their @, but it's best not to spend energy entertaining people who love to stay blind just to satisfy their ego of being OT7 army. (yes it's an ego and a persona they can't let go of)
Seeing Jimin lovers promote using posters made me so proud. You know what it reminded me of? (Contd. Below)
It reminded me of early OG army. The army that would promote BTS when they were smaller and had lesser influence. The type of dedication that makes a big artist.
And you know what? That kind of dedication can now be been in Jimin lovers. They are getting down on streets, they are streaming, buying, doing everything they can. A dynamic fandom is what makes an artist organic and successful.
On some level, i believe:
"The next BTS is Jimin and the next ARMY are Jimin Fans"
I know this sounds bold and some of you may come at me for this. Army fandom is not the same as it was- it's filled with visual stans, twitter warriors who make shooter accounts just to feel something in their lives, toxic shippers, youtube and tiktok fans who have never streamed a song, consume 90% unofficial content because the real bts and their music is not why they were here in the first place.
But Jimin lovers (not the toxic solos) are in it for good. My TL on twitter is good. I follow some good OT7 armies, some scholar armies, people who deep dive into music, JM fanbases, and funny smaller accounts. I'm actually glad I've cleared my TL of shipper drama and irrational solos. The community is good out there.
Bonus: My opinion on member release during Jimin schedule(Type 1)
Honestly, from what I've seen so far, members are aware of what fellow members are releasing and when. So for those who think Jimin isn't aware...i have news for you. And don't forget that vmin kinda text regularly (there's proof). Even if Jimin knew that Tae plans to release this on army day, he's the kind of person who would absolutely support it. We all know the kind of person Jimin is. And it's not like BTS hasn't released more than 1 content in one day. The only difference is that now members are solo artists.
BUT- I do think that releasing 2 things and giving pre-orders for that other thing so close to Jimin's release is a bad decision on company's part.
They could have had other surprises or gifts for army day. Or could have announced the photobook pre-orders before Muse announcement. The timing is indeed terrible.
This could mean 2 things-
1. They are indeed intending on taking away attention (and sales) from SGMB.
2. They are using the momentum of the fandom to sell a photobook. Because we all know how active the fandom is during Jimin's releases.
3. Both of the above.
I think those who have their priorities right will buy Muse first. A photobook can wait, there are no records to make.
MUSE prep:
I have YT and AM premium, but I am about to make a premium for spoti too because apparently it's so important..ugh. Hope you are doing everything you can for Jimin. Getting free premium trial account is so easy for all streaming platform. Please do it. Just cancel the subscription in August if you don't have the money. And then make another account. It's possible, you can do it. :) Buy the album too if you can!

Hiii stormie my dear, how are you? first of all, i wanted to say that i adore your blog and i think u are a breath of fresh air here. Thank you! Because i trust u, I wanted to say some things im thinking about since seven released, i hope u dont mind.
Ok, like jk says: lets get it! Right, I do understand people feeling sad about jimin and face era. It was awful how sabotaged he was, and i still dont get what really happened and i'm mad to whatever or whoever is responsible for it. But i'm seeing so many people doubting the veracity in jungkookie's success with seven and i'm hating it. I dont think the song is getting payola, nor playlists by paying for it and neither ads on youtube. First, the song was sent to radios, but just a few of them r playing it, one of them being a guy who loves to plays "k-pop" songs. If there was payola, it would be playing everywhere all the time already. The playlist thing: just like "like crazy eng. ver", seven entered the Today's Top Hits playlist. But at #23 place. I just saw a tweet by a guy talking about this: https://twitter.com/cantorpedia/status/1680258574688088066?s=20. We know that there's some shady thing happening in this playlist for a while, and if seven have deals to get this high debut numbers, it would had debuted at the top in the playlist, even in the cover (it may go up next week, because there is supposed to be some internal logic that the more a song receives streams IN the playlist, the more it rises). Also, seven had a huge filtering in spotify, just like all BTS' songs, which also shows that they r not making deals. Now, about Youtube ads... i saw a person posting a ss about seeing an ad of the song, but apparently is fake.
Seven is doing AWESOME numbers because: its a english catchy song, with a cute mv, sang by THEE Jeon Jungkook. Im not joking, seven is really a gp success.. yesterday i saw 3 people from my daily life and inner circle talking about loving the song. My sister, who is not an army, said that she listened to the song all day while i was not home. Gp is loving it. So they did with butter (which is a eng song too), but Seven has a differential: the clean and explict version r being counted combined. Plus, seven is doing awesome everywhere, even in korean charts.
If there was something shady going on, i dont think they would make more than 1 version for the song, even on youtube (there is a new perfomance video for the explict ver). They would just send to radios and count on the payola and the deals w spotify, tiktok, youtube, for the charts (thats what most western artists does). But since billboard started filtering the songs so much so that made like crazy drop from 1 to 45 in a week and then stopped counting digital versions from usa based artist stores, BTS had to start making available to fans different versions of the same song because they know they cant count on radio, but can count on the sales and streams. Since Like Crazy, i feel like Hybe is experimenting ways of overcoming the sabotage by the industry.
The thing is, i think we can and should talk and raise questions about how jimin was treated badly, in every chart and streaming platform. For example, views from youtube were not being frozen in Yoongi's songs too, just like jk's. So, its not a privilege that jk is receiving, its just that something was really happening with face promotions, who knows what and why. But that was not jk's or any member fault.
Anyway, i'm happy for jk and i know much more is coming his way. And i cant wait for jimin to make a new comeback soon too. I hope it all goes well yk, Jimin deserves the best in his promotions just like jk and the other members. Lets hope. I'm sorry for hijacking your tumblr for this rant, im hoping u have some thoughts on the subject
Rant shared. I shared my thoughts about most of this a few weeks ago, I'm sure anyone who wants to can still scroll to go find it all, I'm not *really* wanting to open it all back up for discussion again. People are VILE honestly. I enjoy the song, it's fun, it's not much more than that and it's clearly made to be a western audience radio hit. Jungkook deserves and has my full support though! 💜 thanks for sharing

Honestly these feelings must be heightened for a lot of Tkkrs because they’ve just come out of an intense two weeks only to be thrown into another solo project so soon and one that is being promoted in a completely different manner by the company. It’s easy to put the blame on JK because you think it’s unfair, but all in all, despite the sabotage of sales and delayed orders and deleted streams/views etc, Layover has been a very wholesome era. Taehyung’s achieved so much and most importantly he’s looked incredibly happy.
Don’t take what Tae and JK solos are saying as an excuse to project your retaliations onto TK themselves.
I think it’d be good to step back if you’re feeling overwhelmed/negative. There’s a plan in place and reasons for why things are being rushed. I imagine October will have other member’s projects too not just JK’s.
As for “public support” let’s sit down and actually take a look at what’s been done:
- JK’s mentioned he heard Layover first, and that the tracks are good.
- Tae’s mentioned he asked to study SD with JK, and ended up recording it at JK’s place with his guide. He’s also mentioned that JK engaged in discussions with him throughout the process. Tae put down Seven in his Spotify bingo. And as we previously saw, Tae surprised JK by dancing to Seven on stage and JK expressed how thankful he was for that.
- Namjoon, Hobi and Jimin posted SD on Layover’s release day. So did Wooga squad, though they captioned it with little messages too. Wooga have also been vlogging with his songs. Taehyung has also shown support for Hyungsik via a recorded message for his fanmeet, and irl for Peakboy at the Noice event.
- Namjoon mentioned LMA’s mv in passing, as well as saying SD is his favorite track. This was in direct response to weverse live comments.
- Tae mentioned Hobi listened to the album before (I personally think this was before he enlisted and at JK’s)
- Jimin showed up publicly to support Tae’s live show, but not for the entire show.
- Yoongi’s said he didn’t want to steal the spotlight from Tae.
Now, looking at this list I personally think that it was Tae’s Crew, and Wooga squad who publicly expressed the most support. Tae’s Crew especially have written heartfelt messages on their experiences and Tae’s stylist has been updating every achievement of Tae in his IG.
Am I saying that BTS’ public displays of support weren’t genuine? No, I just think it be quite mild and assume more was said privately/in their GC. We know Tae did the same for Hobi and other member’s too. Not everything has to be shown online. Just because they’re not telling us they’re keeping up to date doesn’t mean they’re not. JK definitely watched Tae’s Smoke Dance, even if he didn’t comment on it.
As for JK, I personally think he’s been focusing on himself these weeks. He’s busy and he’s only going to get busier. His recent live was very short and was meant to be a catch up after performing. He spoke to Jin for most of it anyway. His Tiktok dances have been for hyping up what I assume will be 3D promo on there, since there’s been rumors that Tiktoker Addison Rae is involved in the MV.
I urge the Tkkrs who are feeling conflicted to take a look at TK’s schedules and see how they aren’t overlapping but follow right after. See how they have some similarities and a hint of the other in them. I think they’ve talked a lot about what the other will be doing.
Hi anon!
Yes to this! And especially to Layover promo having been so wholesome. I’ve loved Tae’s content so much. I feel his heart was in it and he seemed so happy 🥰.

Oh anon, you really can't trivialize Jimin's promo by saying it got better. It got faaaaaar better. Of course, Jungkook is going to be main choice for US market. He basically sings every guide of BTS songs and has that main boy energy but don't forget he is also used to take BTS forward. Remember euphoria? Seven?
It's not a jealousy to compare promos of different members. You really can't be saying he got 3 albums, 80x, travel show, Jimmy falon, Twitter ads, insta etc etc. is just better. With this BH has ensured him first place on Spotify global. There is nothing wrong with this. They should actually promote all their members like this.
Anyone who says oh but layover was different in genre, not everybody listens. What happened to Friends then? Why couldn't it receive same attention as muse? Don't come at me with a single thing. BH has seen Tae's sales they knew this song could be viral in the US market but it never got the push. BH has always considered Jkk as their main players in Korea and now in US. Tae has been victim of this mentality.
Though it's funny numbers aren't transferred equally for JKk when almost all the army is a closeted jkk shipper. I don't care if anyone interpret this ask as me being anti coz I'm not but I'm pissed with PJMs hypocrisy with first crying about no promo and then saying but but it's less than JK. Call spade a spade anon.
I think I said the thing about Layover.
And I do stand by it. My thought on Friends is that it would be - and I believe WAS - C list on UK radio (my area of expertise) because while it's on the upbeat side of chill, it's still a pretty chill song. Chill songs have a harder job in the charts. Always will. A good music scheduler for a station will limit where a chill song goes. Can't start a show with it, can't come out of ads with it, can't come out of news with it, might be a little chill for commuting hours. It's about BPM and mood. Something like SNTY or Seven can fit literally anywhere other than straight out of really tragic news.
Also dance challenges and viral audio on Tiktok are increasingly contributing to success.
But essentially I agree and you make a good point: it stands zero chance with no backing at all.

✨This week in Jimin news...✨
For those of us who get lost in the lights...
It was an eventful Jimin week, everyone...it was interesting and full of Jimin.
•With more streaming we reach our goals! This was one of them:
Pre-order your FACE vinyls!
US Jimin fans, Target has good sales for the vinyls! Buy 2 and get a 3rd free lol
Keep Like Crazy stable on the charts 💛
•Kpjms sent trucks to Hybe and other locations in Seoul to demand answers from Hybe. Eight days later and the trucks are still going playing "Set Me Free. pt.2."
We want answer Hybe! And we want Jimin to be treated better!!!
•The tiktok challenge that made many lose their minds all day. I'm still living there.
You already know which one don't you? It involved our precious and innocent Jimin and this boy named Taemin.
•#This is Jimin where Jimin danced to "Stuck With U" by Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.
Haters hated but people that appreciate art were enchanted.
Even locals and Ariana Grande fanbases:
• Jimin is art. Jimin is math.
Cr.
•Jimin and the rest of BTS have some voting power now as Bang PD was the one who controlled that in the past. It's something right?
•This sweet message from Jimin...after he came back from Budapest where we think he was filming a mv. However, he was mobbed at the airport. Not cool.
His airport fashion:
Cr.
•He was snubbed by the BBMAs but Jimin, with or without awards, keeps making history.
•These photos from PTD where Jimin looks as handsome and beautiful as ever.
• Today in 2020, Dis-ease was released and Jimin wrote an amazing bridge for it while humming to himself. He's always been so talented at writing melodies.
youtube
•This cute Jimin and doge that I remembered.
Jimin is holding back the little dog ears and the dog is like "halp".
THIS IS SO CUTE!!!
And that's a short summary of this week!

it's crazy that people forget jm's solos songs were the best performing in each and every album. Lie is iconic, literally charted on world digital song sales in 2016! Which other solo from wings made any noise? Exactly. Serendipity had the handicap of having two versions in two different albums and that separated its streams, but she has her successes too. And Filter, what to say? debuted on the hot100 despite it was removed (mysteriously) from itunes, apple music, shazam, ig stories, tiktok and youtube had the wrong video. and the live performances of each of these 3 always eclipse all the others. also jimin being named in various articles and charts for music and style. and most of this is before they got more famous worldwide.
“Lie is iconic, literally charted on world digital song sales in 2016! Which other solo from wings made any noise? Exactly.”
On the scale that Lie has? None you’re right, but Awake Begin and FL had their in fandom moments. And I’ll never speak ill on Stigma cause highkey that’s still the best song th’s ever dropped. (Reflection’s just no good :( )
You’d think jimin having as big of a debut as he had wouldn’t have come out of left field for so many people in the face of all of that, but it still managed to. All of jimin’s initial solo tracks were seriously damn near full on eras themselves though, despite all of them being bsides. Like he’s been putting out hits, this isn’t new at all for him.

It’s a fan song, yes. The description says “for ARMY”. The artwork and lyrics don’t seem to be connected to Christmas, but the timing and vibe are similar in my opinion.
Looking at how much Hybe is doing for it(no CDs, preorders, presaves etc) I don’t think it’s an “Official” song, more like Promise. But based on the tiktok it looks like it has a choreo so maybe we are getting an MV or at least a performance video.
Or maybe Hybe is being incompentent as always. Maybe this is what he filmed in Korea
Yes, it may not have a Christmas-y vibe, but the timing matches.
I also think it is different from the project that involved shooting in several locations. That costs money and I don't see how the company wouldn't want a return on that investment.
But that also raises the question of having Jimin release a song with a music video and up for sale, considering he's in the military. As far as I know, they are not allowed to make money from other, outside sources. Is this because it would be based on something produced and finalized before enlistment? I know there's Baekhyun's case when SM had to take down all the videos on his youtube channel which were released for fans during his time in the military. How is that different?

He’s getting that #1. and unlike with jm the company is prepared to keep him there or at least prevent a freefall. and let’s not forget he has the advantage of not getting 100k of his sales deleted the second week lol. we better prepare for a lot of comparisons that won’t account for any of this.
Oh mann. I know this. I'm starting to feel that more than making jungkook an established artist in the West or getting that #1 their main goal is to beat jimin. Show people that jk is better than jimin.
But thats never gonna be true coz jimin didn't need everything handed to him on a silver platter, nor did he need big industry people to back him up, nor the insane company push, nor the payola, nor the spotify, YouTube, naver, TikTok ads, and everything that they're doing for jungkook.
Jimin didn't need all that and even when everything was going against him, people were hating on him he still managed to get that #1 on his own and his fan's hardwork. The company let like crazy free fall. If the company would've put some effort they would've easily made like crazy stay for the second week as well.
So no. Jungkook can never be better than jimin. Those jk solos should come and brag to us when that manchild achieve something on his own.
Even if the company or jk solos try to gaslight people into thinking that jk is better than jimin then also they can't take away jimin's talent nor they can give any talent to jk.
So jimin is and will always be better than jk.
Jungkook can't depend on all this for a long time. The company will not push him this much for every comeback nor will they give him songs on a silver platter for every comeback at some point in life he has to do this on his own then we'll see what he's capable of. Then we'll do the real comparison.
Right now he's a fucking joke to me.

I'm so tired of people discrediting Jungkook. This is no shade to any of the members, but seven would not have gotten the same results if it was given to another member. Jimin did a huge western collab with Angel pt1 and that didn't chart high on the hot 100.
Layover is another good example. Everyone assumed it would be on par to seven, but sadly, that's not the case. we will continue to see this with rm and jimin once they release their next projects. I just think people underestimate jungkook's popularity. Just look at bts spotify, 2/5 of their most streamed songs are jungkook's. If his next single doesn't do as well, then I'll take it back, but I have a feeling it'll be just as big since there's so much anticipation.
For real. Imo, to successfully record Seven, a few skills were needed: good vocals (which ruled out Namgi, leaving only the maknae line to choose from), good English pronunciation (which V struggles with still), pop vocals (not V's strongest suit, though I think his voice would fit the song better than Jimin's - but it would sound sweeter and more melancholic than JK's version, so it wouldn't be as commercial), charisma/popularity/visuals/etc. to help sell the song (obviously they all have it in spades). Jungkook's obviously the best vocalist, whose voice is the most suited for easy pop songs like Seven, has the best English pronunciation, and is also the most recognizable member of BTS to the GP - especially after the World Cup and CK, which are both GP friendly. Jungkook also has a more American-friendly image, because of the tattoos, piercings, etc.. He resembles an American male artist the most, so he's more accessible to Western audiences.
Imo, Vmin could not pull off the song like Jungkook, and the vocals are the biggest reason why. I also think, and keep in mind that I love Jimin to bits, but his Like Crazy performances showed he's still a bit timid performing on his own. Compared to BTS stages, his energy was muted, for the lack of a better word. Jungkook was so at ease, he radiated confidence, charm and power in every performance, regardless of the size of the audience (WC or Times Square). He was more nervous in interviews, but RM's the only one who doesn't look nervous often. I think V could pull off the performances and stuff, but his voice and English pronunciation wouldn't be well received.
I don't think anyone assumed Layover would be on par with Seven. It was obvious from the moment the first song dropped that it would not be super GP friendly and wouldn't be able to compete on a global scale with a bright English pop song that was promoted in the US. Tbh, I underestimated V's popularity, because I assumed Layover wouldn't perform as well as Face, but it surpassed it in many regards. V is really a lot more popular than I gave him credit for, and has very dedicated fanbases, though Jimin arguably has much bigger GP recognition. But V really proved his popularity with the streams and sales he pulled for an album like Layover - although the album has 4 versions, which definitely helped with sales. Yet, Jungkook will easily, and with 100% certainty, blow V and Jimin's records out of the water, and snatch that first nr. 1 on the BB 200 for the albums (assuming V hasn't already).
Jungkook's popularity is definitely underestimated. It's practically fanon that V's the most popular member. Even after Seven's amazing performance that's taken as a fact. I'd argue that even in the past it wasn't true or easy to say V was more popular, but since 2022, at least, Jungkook's popularity has sky rocketed. Everyone still insists on V being more popular or on the same level as Jungkook, but his TikTok, YT and Twitter records show otherwise. Plus, like you said, his songs perform very well.
I think JK's next single will be the Butter to his Dynamite, which is Seven. His Vogue photoshoot, more than the Dazed interview, have me actually believing that his next single will be a bit darker, maybe more rock? Perhaps it will be trendier but not as easy of a listen as Seven, which is exactly like Butter vs. Dynamite. The anticipation will be huge, and a lot more people will tune in for his single, so he'll likely outdo himself in many regards, but I doubt he'll beat Seven's biggest records and impact. There's also the issue with very little time having passed since Seven.
Yeah, not to sound like a solo stan, which I'm not, but only Jungkook could do Seven - and Dreamers too.
Thanks for the ask!
