This explains why a younger Professor E. Gadd can be seen studying the origins of Thwomps on Thwomp Volcano in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time.

Wario Land 1 has a similar concept, where Wario can let Thwomps stomp on mooks to get large coins.

My dear tumblr Olds I'm talkin ppl who have been here since at least 2011 does anyone else remember that night on tumblr in like 2012 maybe 2013 where everyone went collectively insane and spam posted the Mario thwomp and the urgh sound effect

this is such a distinct pre dashcon tumblr moment but I have never seen anyone talk about it outside me and my two friends who experienced it live, I'm so sad I accidentally deleted the blog from that time period a few years ago bc I can't check the archive to see if it was really real I feel like I'm going insane hfjkbhkkscj
