Ok.... All Robotnik had for 243 days was a rock to keep him company. And we all know humans are social creatures. Robotnik was an orphan. No family, no person who..... got close.

Until Stone. He stayed. Long enough that when being alone again seemed to happen again, he made Stone... the rock. Cause he couldn't stand being alone.

Now when he has the Master Emerald the first place he goes to is Stone. And when he makes the comment "I can smell the electricity in your brain." It's because Stone is real. Stone is human.

So I came across a meme on r/jewpiter...

...and it got me thinking about

the nature of sleep deprivation;

how sleep deprivation is used as a torture tactic by military and police typically (and obv also terrorist groups, random individual shitbags, etc);

how specifically using sound (music on repeat, loud booming, screeching, etc) combined with sleep deprivation is used to try and get standoffs ended by authority figures, or to break wills in general (information gathering, cruelty for cruelty's sake, etc);

sleep deprivation/sonic torture can be done a number of ways, but is typically and usually decried (rightly so) as inhumane/cruel and unusual, and therefore not supported by most self-described leftists (myself included);

israelis and (palestinians/anyone in the regions that regularly experience some type of ballistic/rocket launching/landing) are constantly bombarded with sleep deprivation/sonic torture, via rocket attacks at all hours of the day and night, for weeks, months, years on end;

how sleep deprivation causes long term bodily trauma, as well as altering the ability to think rationally and calmly;

how israel specifically has been so constantly fired upon as to need public bomb shelters, sirens, and the iron fucking dome to survive;

how palestinians (and civilians of other surrounding areas) are subjected to the terrorist groups in their region(s) using civilian homes, schools, hospitals, etc to construct, and plot, and fire, and launch from just so they can potentially survive their local terrorist org's ire;

the nature of observing abusive relationships and the willingness to turn a blind eye because it benefits somehow, or people too uncomfortable to confront the truth about their own relationships;

the absolute cruelty of the left to lack the nuance or care to understand how all of this is connected. literally feels like watching someone be abused by their spouse and the neighborhood denying it.

I love wearing thrifted clothes. But more than that I love wearing clothes that once belonged to friends and family. Most of my favorite outfits consist of at least one hand me down item. Things that are organically distressed by legitimately being lived in.

Because of this I love raiding people's donate piles or clothes they're about to toss because "they're damaged".

I like it because it's like wearing memories. Memories of the people I love.

It is so hard to see old pictures and videos of celebs that would have been in their twenties when I was a kid because it’s hard to conceptualize that I’m looking at a 20 year old. I was watching a video of this girl dancing to Mariah Carey’s Heartbreaker with Mariah in the back. And I’m staring like why does she look like that? Because she legit looked weird to me behave in my head Mariah Carey is 20 something years older than me and always has been so why does she look so young here?

Like a while back when I was watching videos on Diddy, someone pulled up an old picture of usher like “usher at 19…” and I’m like when the fuck was Usher ever 19???????? He been middle aged the entire time I knew him! What!

It’s like I forget people older than me were ever young because they are always older than me lol.

Guys, violence in media

It’s like we know you’re not supposed to beat somemone up or kill them, but the protagonist always has a good reason and so we think it’s cool and badass when they finally kill the antagonist. Just look at Marvel

And then you watch Watership Down and you realize that violence only occurs a few times in the movie, and it’s always portrayed as absolutely horrible.

There’s no reason to it, no badass music or cool one liners or little jokes... it’s just blood and suffocating and helplesness and desperation and it cuts way too deep for comfort. Marvel can only wish

Bad at having fun -- fun is a waste of time, you feel guilty for actually having fun. But having a bad (or, not good) time while "having" "fun" (doing something bc oblication, societal pressure, people-pleasing, etc.) that's "good" fun

Ya know, my brother came out as Ace and good for him. I admit I used to wonder as a kid, but I'm glad he's figured himself out. People need to be able to figure themselves out and be respected for the outcome without questions about their journey.

I'm going to try to put my thoughts into some semblance of order, but will most likely fail. I have been thinking about this for a while. It's not a new viewpoint by any means and anyone is welcome to disagree of course, but as an asexual person, I was so happy with how Lower Decks approached the character of Billups.

By this I don't only mean the fact that he was never treated like a joke. That is, of course a big point in LD's favor: The situation in the S2 episode was funny, yes, but no one pointed and laughed at him, and no one (except his mother) insinuated that he was anything less than an accomplished officer. But what I liked the most was actually the fact that the episode refused to give a straightforward answer regarding his sexuality.

Let me give some context first. I was listening to the radio earlier today and in a lovely display of amatonormativity the punchline to a joke was, and I quote: "if someone reaches middle age and is still single, you should question it because something isn't right with them."

This was infuriating but so commonplace one can't really complain without being berated for it. "Lighten up, it's just a joke," but it isn't funny. Coming out as ace can quickly become an interrogation as to what prompted you to be this way. Why? Is it trauma? Were you in a bad relationship before? Is it hormonal? Are you really sure? You can so rarely just be, without having to deliver a presentation whenever the question comes up, all the while knowing you're most likely going to get a failing grade in the impromptu exam anyway.

Which brings me back to Billups and his limelight episode: ultimately, why he's a middle-aged virgin doesn't matter. The episode doesn't explain his exact reasoning beyond not wanting to inherit, and that is fine. Whether he's a sex-repulsed aroace man and that is what drove him to engineering, or an allosexual man who has chosen celibacy to pursue his goals shouldn't have to matter. It's his life, and there isn't a wrong way to live it, not when it comes to this.

And what we are told is that in the Federation, it truly doesn't matter. At no point is he asked to stop what he's doing in order to justify himself. He doesn't have to reassure Rutherford that he knows what he wants. He doesn't get a grudging pass only because he's ace, like we are some kind of weird, unknowable being: whether he has ever had sex or not and why is just irrelevant to the bonds he has made and the skills he has cultivated, as it should be today.

Hopefully we'll also get there, someday.

Sure, Whumpee is beaten daily. He is hit and kicked to the floor by everyone he sees, but at least it is better than it was.

Sure, he is branded and beaten until unconscious. He is punished for wrongdoings that aren’t his own, but at least it is better than it was.

Before, he was loved and cherished. He was brought up to a level he never thought he could reach, and he never deserved it.

At least now, the outside matches the inside. At least now, others see what he sees in himself; a detestable creature with no hope of salvation.

He is beaten and he deserves it.
